i think aventurine prefers to be the little spoon instead of the big spoon—he's touchstarved and lonely, so having your arms curled around him and your nose buried in his hair just. melts him into puddles, and if he's feeling particularly insecure and tired, the gesture might even broke him into tears.

edit: ++ he loves it when you let him lay his head on your chest too. it makes him feel safe knowing that you're right there, beside him, keeping him company, and showering him with love—knowing that someone actually loves him wholeheartedly without expectations.

his fingers combing your hair to soothe you, making sure that no bad dreams come to haunt you—if they do, he'll hold you tightly no matter how hard you're thrashing and kicking, he would even try to whispers a few words to reassure you (even if he's not good at it—for you, he'll try) until you calm down.

The first character I first fell in love with:

I really liked Lucy right from the beginning. She was spunky, fun, opinionated, and funny at times. She’s remained one of my favourite Fairy Tail characters, though I do dislike just how sexualized she became by the show/manga, but that is a problem that Fairy Tail has with all its female characters. Overall though, I don’t think there was ever a time where I actively disliked Lucy, hated what she was doing or the choices she made and I’m still pretty in love with her, just would tweak a couple things if I was to author the story instead.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:

I actively disliked Laxus when he was introduced. Though the moment at the parade really was very touching and I did tear up a little, it was mostly because I adore Makarov and I found it really hard to warm up to Laxus or forgive him for what he’d done. It took me a real long time to warm up to him and enjoy his character, though I have come to like him and appreciate him. He's still not one of my favourites, but I do see his appeal, understand why people are fans of his, and think he has a lot of positive qualities along with his flaws.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t:

I’m not really in touch with the fandom enough to know who is really, really loved and who is hated, so I can’t really answer these two questions very well. I will say that I imagine that Zeref is really popular, and while I don’t hate him or anything, I don’t think he’s as well used by the narrative as he could have been and I’m largely tepid on him. He’s cool enough, I didn’t hate seeing him, but overall he was meh to me. I can enjoy him, but he’s not the second coming of Christ and there are certain decisions made by the author that I kind of dislike when it comes to him.

The character I love that everyone else hates:

Again, because I don’t know enough about the fandom to really understand which characters are loved or hated, I can’t really answer this very well though. However, I do feel like Levy is going to be really overlooked or just boiled down to her relationship with Gajeel, which makes me sad because Levy is honestly my second favourite female character and probably within my top five or ten favourite Fairy Tail characters overall. She doesn’t have flashy or ‘cool’ powers, things really fighting oriented, but she’s got a really cool power to me, she’s wicked smart, cute, caring, kind, and funny and I love her a lot.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer:

Ohhh, this one is going to get me some serious hate I feel like, because I know right away that it will be a very unpopular opinion. While I in no way dislike Erza, as the manga went along, I found that my immediate love for this strong, no-nonsense, confident, and unintentionally hilarious character kind of just kept diminishing. She’s enjoyable, has some absolutely killer moments and scenes, some of her armours are fun, but I just think that, again, there were some storytelling decisions made with her character that just made me lose as much interest as I’d initially felt towards her. While I was all in on Erza at the beginning, she just faded away to become a character that I like, but don’t absolutely love. If I had to choose a top ten favourite characters from this manga, Erza wouldn’t make it into the list, but she might for a top fifteen or twenty.

The character I would totally smooch:

Bickslow, Rogue, Levy, and Gildarts, no contest. Immediate answers and strongly held answers for all of them, no second thoughts needed. I knew this one right from the beginning and didn’t need to think about this one at all. Rogue and Bickslow are probably the strongest out of the four, in terms of my affections, but the other two are quite close behind.

The character I’d want to be like:

This one was pretty much impossible for me to decide. One of my favourite things about Fairy Tail and its characters is that I can find something admirable about almost every one of its characters, even the villians. Nobody is completely one-dimensional, with no growth, no challenges, no flaws or personal strengths. Everyone has something that I can see in them and think ‘god, that’s really a cool part of them and I wish I could be like that’.

The character I’d slap:

Jose pissed me off to an insane level and I would pay to just bitchslap that man. There was something about him that made my skin crawl. I mean, it speaks to how great he was in a villanious position – he was well designed in that regards, he had cool powers, and his voice was nice, but god, I would slap him so hard.

A pairing that I love:

I don’t really ship, but I will say I don’t mind most of the canon ships. There’s issues with all of them, but they’re still all pretty much okay in my mind. The only one I think I really love, on a deep level, is Bisca and Alzack.

A pairing that I despise:

Another very unpopular opinion coming at you all here, but I’m not a NaLu shipper. I can see some fanart and appreciate it for being cute, but overall, they’re best friends for life to me. They have an inseperable bond and will always be incredibly important to each other, in my mind, but it’s not necessarily a romantic or sexual thing between the two of them.
