actually i AM gonna talk abt dan's fashion expenses outside of tags fuck it and im gonna be 100% forreal about this and idc if the bants about his $300 pants are mostly jokes
yall know about what happens with fast fashion right. it's all cheaply made by people trapped in sweatshops and factories all day for little to no pay, and when a fashion cycle or season is over, all of the unsold clothes get dumped onto the shores of a country that has been cast as lesser by societies that continue to benefit from colonization and slavery despite acting like we're somehow above it. and of course thats not even accounting for clothes that end up in trash landfills, just all this fuckin waste that goes into letting a t shirt be $15USD.
and like okay. no, dan buying $300 parachute pants isn't singlehandedly saving the world, and no, phil buying $10 graphic tees isn't singlehandedly killing it. but still it bugs me AND I KNOW ITS A JOKE HAHA SO FUNNY BUT LIKE IT BUGS MEEEE when ppl are like "xD dan howell participating in capitalism by buying expensive clothes" when its like, ok he's buying from brands that nobody's heard of, who probably make clothes by order, and tbf i'm not 100% confident that the working conditions of the people who made dan's $300 pants are all super safe and sound and all of the workers are well-paid, but they're at the very least being paid. being paid more than a USD cent. and you're probably not going to see thousands of parachute pants piling up on a madagascan beach.

I've decided that this is the year when I'm gonna learn to make myself fancy coffee drinks at home. I have a whole bunch of sugar-free syrups in my cart now and I'm just trying to make myself pull the trigger.
I keep telling myself that it's worth it in the long run because I'll save money on cafes (which... I don't actually use that much anyway) and I can finally have all the fanciest drinks without the milk/sugar that makes me sick and I'll be able to make myself nice little treats on high-symptom days but boyyy this stuff is expensive. ;;

There’s a tumblr post that I’ve seen a few times that has a list of fair trade chocolate brands to support. I found one of them recently for fairly cheap imo. It’s a lot better tasting than Hershey’s or Nestle too.

“Nico. Lucci.”
He’d known it was coming, but that knowledge doesn’t make hearing Robin say his name in that tone any less terrifying.
Slowly turning on his heel, Lucci looks at his sister, who stands with her arms crossed, eyebrows raised and lips pursed. He knows that look. Despite only being with her until they were eight, he’s caused that expression more times than he cares to count.
That is Robin’s ‘explain now or I start yelling for mom and you get to explain it to her and die’ expression. He hasn’t earned it since their reunion.
The fact that their mother has been dead for twenty years really doesn’t negate the effectiveness of it. That just means that Robin will skip straight to murdering him.

I'm not willing to bend on it but I wish it was less annoying to find fair trade chocolate in the baking aisle. If I don't go to one of those organic overpriced grocery stores it's about a 50/50 shot that they'll have any chocolate chips/baking chocolate bars that are fair trade at all

Green Exchange: Trading in Sustainable Agriculture
Tumblr media
Introduction
In a world where environmental concerns are growing, the concept of sustainable agriculture is gaining significant traction. With the rise of eco-friendly agriculture and fair trade practices, the agricultural industry is undergoing a transformation towards more responsible and ethical production methods. At the forefront of this movement is the Green Exchange, a platform dedicated to trading in sustainable agriculture.
Understanding Eco-Friendly Agriculture
Eco-friendly agriculture, also known as sustainable farming, focuses on cultivating crops and raising livestock in a manner that minimizes harm to the environment. This approach emphasizes the use of natural resources efficiently, reducing pollution, and promoting biodiversity. By adopting practices such as crop rotation, organic farming, and integrated pest management, eco-friendly farmers strive to maintain the health of the land while producing high-quality food.
The Importance of Fair Trade Agriculture
Fair trade agriculture is centered on ensuring that farmers receive fair compensation for their labor and resources. This practice seeks to empower small-scale farmers in developing countries by providing them with stable prices, access to markets, and support for sustainable farming practices. Fair trade certification ensures that producers adhere to strict social, environmental, and economic standards, thereby promoting social justice and economic equity in the agricultural supply chain.
The Role of Green Exchange
The Green Exchange serves as a marketplace where buyers and sellers can engage in the trade of sustainably produced agricultural products. By connecting eco-friendly farmers with conscientious consumers and businesses, the platform facilitates the exchange of goods that are grown and harvested with environmental and social responsibility in mind. From organic fruits and vegetables to ethically sourced coffee and cocoa, the Green Exchange offers a diverse range of products that meet the highest standards of sustainability and fairness.
Advantages of Participating in Green Exchange
For farmers, participating in the Green Exchange opens up new opportunities to showcase their commitment to sustainable practices and gain access to premium markets. By selling their products through the platform, farmers can command higher prices for their goods, receive support for implementing eco-friendly techniques, and contribute to the preservation of natural resources.
For consumers and businesses, the Green Exchange provides a transparent and trustworthy source of sustainably produced agricultural products. By choosing to purchase from the platform, they can feel confident that their purchases support farmers who prioritize environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Moreover, by supporting fair trade agriculture, consumers and businesses can help alleviate poverty in rural communities and promote equitable trade relationships worldwide.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Green Exchange plays a vital role in promoting eco-friendly and fair trade agriculture practices within the agricultural industry. By facilitating the trade of sustainably produced goods, the platform supports farmers in adopting environmentally friendly practices while ensuring that they receive fair compensation for their efforts. Through collective action and conscious consumer choices, we can build a more sustainable and equitable food system for generations to come. Join the Green Exchange today and be a part of the movement towards a greener, fairer future in agriculture.
