Here's my art challenges for the year! My overarching goal is just to crochet a different Pokemon every day, but these monthly challenges will help narrow down my choices.
Jan-New-Ary for Pokemon from Paldea, Fae-bruary for fairy types, Maw-rch for Pokemon with big jaws or teeth, Ape-ril for ape-like Pokemon, Mer-may for water types, Junebug for bug types, Jewel-ly for rock types, Smaugust for dragon types, September for fire types, Ectober for ghost types, Dinovember for fossil and dinosaur-like Pokemon, and Decem-brr for ice types. Blank calendar pages under the cut:

Batsupes Fae-bruary 2022
What is Fae-bruary? Fae-bruary is a month long celebration of all things fae. There are many different kinds of fae which one can learn more about here.
How Does One Participate? Every day in February ~ Check the prompts for inspiration. The list will be posted at least two or three months before the beginning of Fae-braury. ~ Draw your fae or write a fic that includes your fae. ~ If you're a twitter user Hashtag your post fae-bruary and/or Fae-bruary 2022. Tag your posts minus the hashtag over on AO3 and/or Tumblr. ~ Like, Share, & Comment on artists and writers work! ~ If you post on AO3, be sure to add it to the Fae-bruary Collections! Does it have to be for a Specific Fandom? No, it can be for any fandom! It can even be for original works! It however was an idea thought up by the Batsupes Community Server on Discord.

A fairy~
February is Fae-bruary, where you draw a fairy for every day that month... That didn’t happen this year but maybe another year~
#digital art#digital sketch#fairy#faebruary#I obviously did not complete the challenge but maybe when I’m not in the middle of a disaster I’ll attempt it again

Monthly art challenges 2025
Trying to come up with punny names for possible monthly art challenges for 2025 to help me focus on what Pokemon to crochet next year, would love suggestions/feedback before I decide which prompts and what they mean to me
January: Ja-new-ary, either new Pokemon from gen 9/Paldea or early route Pokemon from the games
February: Fae-bruary, fairy types; Febirdary, flying types
March: March-rivals, rival Pokemon pairs or ace Pokemon from rival trainers in the anime/games, Middle-March, the middle Pokemon in evolution lines
April: Ape-ril, monkey/gorilla kind of Pokemon
May: Amiguru-may, this is kind of what I do anyway but it's an actual amigurumi+May art challenge lol, Mer-May, also a real art challenge but maybe for here water Pokemon..?
June: Je-June: normal types
July: Jewel-ly, rock types (ironically (haha iron) I have already done the two jewel related Pokemon that come to mind, Carbink and Diancie)
August: All of the following are already existing art challenges that I can adapt for this specifically: Smaugust, dragon types; Doggust, dog-like Pokemon; Aughost, ghost types
September: Swordtember, steel types or typical weapon-like Pokemon (also a real art challenge), Spacetember, space-related Pokemon, Sept-ember, fire types
October: Funny enough this is the month with a lot of art challenges I think but a lot stem from Inktober which has had some kind of controversies(??) this past year? I couldn't think of a punny name besides "Poketober" which I've used in the past as a way of staging fun scenes using my already existing crochets. I'd like something different that's more descriptive of a type of Pokemon
November: Also existing art challenges: Huevember, this would rely on me actually committing to 6 Pokemon for each rainbow color, would prefer something else; Dinovember, fossil or dinosaur-related Pokemon (I've already done a lot of both of those tho); Nov-ember, fire types
December: Decembird, flying types; Decembrr, ice types
Ideally it'd be something punny that describes a specific kind of type or theme and that isn't a category I've already done (I'd prefer not to do Febirdary and Decembirdary so if I do one then the other month would be a different theme). March, May, November, and October are the ones I'm most iffy about in this list so far.
I won't lock myself into only doing whatever the monthly theme is, but it'd help me spend less time thinking too much about what specific Pokemon to crochet.
#text#I could just be very filipino about it and go brr ice types for all those months#maybe i'll make polls for deciding months after more suggestions#someone punnier than me help me out

I’m snowed into my hotel room, and thus writing all day—Fae-bruary prompts, maybe?
My sluggish, northern blood is greatly amused that a mere 5 inches of snow (which is a typical Wednesday morning when you live north of the wall) has completely incapacitated a major metropolitan, but here we are.
I’m going to be working on Monster Matches (@severedreamerbeard & @tjada-sees-the-world-go-round you’re up next!) AND I will be taking some Fae-bruary prompts for some fae goodness this month!
My Inbox is open!

February 1st Prompts: Reflection (Doodlewash) & Aswang (Fae-bruary) I did pencil for doodlewash (oops). For Fae-bruary, I picked the Aswang, a mythical creature from Filipino folklore, done in pencil, pen, and a light watercolor wash. #doodlewash #faebruaryartchallenge2021 #faebruary #illustration #ink #sketch #inkdrawing #drawingchallenge #artchallenge #artchallenge2020 #beginnerartists #beginnerartist #filipinofolklore #mythicalcreatures https://www.instagram.com/p/CKyGneCjLjS/?igshid=sx7clnwje0dn

Since it's Fae-bruary, I'll be posting some of my favorite faerie pieces, and 'Faerie Whispers' is a solid fave! The painting of a human helped through his life by a fae invisible to all others.
