Huzzah, it is @sifkiweek once more! This year I have not missed the deadline! I am posting this for day one as it fits the “throne” prompt pretty well. I’ve posted it as two chapters just for neatness as the whole thing is almost 9000 words which seemed a wee bit unwieldy for a single chapter - both parts already are up so the fic is complete.
This year’s fic is a sequel to the fic I wrote for last year’s Sikfi Week, and you should probably at least skim that one so that this one makes sense: Bitter/Sweet
Anyway, the plot of this fic is that Queen Sif has a baby and this a) scares her and b) makes her reconsider her position on whether or not Thor needs to die. Oh no, a Corruption Arc!
Title: Loyalty Binds Me (AO3) Fandom: Thor (Movies) Rating: Mature Pairing: Loki/Sif Wordcount: ~8800 Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Sequel, King Loki, Queen Sif, A Large & Impossible-To-Ignore Thor-Shaped Hole, Angst, Corruption Arc, Pregnancy, Childbirth, Motherhood, Frigga Does What Frigga Thinks Is Best, Mild Sexual Content, Canon-Typical Violence, Fratricidal Ideation, Treason & Betrayal & All That Fun Stuff, Sifki Week 2024 (Marvel) Summary/Snippet: Sif knows that he has one more point to make, one more argument with which he can hope to win her over. She is already forming the words in her mind when he says them; “And there’s the child to think of too, now.”
PS: I made An Artwork to go with it

DANI CALLAN sits at the desk, curling the last remaining pieces of her hair, her irritation simmering just beneath the surface. It’s late May, and the warmth of the Minnesota summer is just beginning to set in, but the night air outside does little to soothe the sheer annoyance that has gripped the girl all day. Tonight is the last night she has with Paige before her best friend is whisked away for the summer due to her thousands of basketball obligations. And guess where they’re going?
A party.
A party. Dani fights the urge to scoff at the thought, jaw clenching.
Paige is excited, though. She’s been excited ever since her basketball buddy told her about it earlier this week, buzzing with energy. “It’ll be fun,” she said, her blue eyes shining with that infectious enthusiasm that makes Dani melt every time. “One last hurrah before I’m off to camps and Thailand and everything else.”
Dani tried to muster some enthusiasm, tried to match Paige’s smile, but she could feel her own fading before it ever really took hold. Because she doesn’t want to go to a party tonight. She doesn’t want to waste the precious few hours she and Paige have left together surrounded by a bunch of people they hardly know, shouting over music, drinking cheap alcohol, pretending to have a good time. Dani wants to be alone with Paige, have her best friend all to herself. She wants to talk. To laugh. To maybe, just maybe, get the courage to tell her what’s been weighing her shoulders down for months now.
But instead, they’re going to a party.
Dani sighs, turning the curling iron off as she catches her reflection in the mirror. Her hair falls in long, loose waves down her back, light makeup coating her face. She wears a simple tank top and jeans—nothing special. She doesn’t feel special tonight. She feels like she’s being cheated out of something, and she can’t even put her finger on what it is.
“Dani! You ready?”
Paige’s voice rings out from the hallway as she opens the door to her bedroom. Dani grabs her phone and looks up and over at Paige, who stands in the doorway with a radiant smile on her face. She’s dressed in all black—black leggings and a black long sleeve—with her favorite pair of lavender dunks on her feet. Her blonde hair’s been done up in its usual ponytail, and she’s got a little bit of mascara coating her lashes. She looks effortlessly beautiful, like she always does, and for a moment, Dani forgets all of her frustrations.
“Yeah, I’m ready,” Dani lies, forcing a smile.
“Great, c’mon,” Paige says, grinning as she takes Dani’s hand, the pair of them leaving Paige’s house through the front door.
As they walk down the street, Dani can’t help but feel a pang in her heart. She’s grown up next to Paige, and this street, this neighborhood, has been their playground for as long as she can remember. Every corner holds a memory, every crack in the sidewalk a story. And, now, with Paige leaving tomorrow, Dani feels like she’s about to lose a piece of herself. Sure, after the summer they still have the entirety of their senior year together. But after that? Nothing. Because Paige will have summer sessions and be at UConn and become a basketball star and Dani will still be here. Of course, there’s been short, hopeful conversations about Dani going to Connecticut, too, so that they can spend their college years together. But Dani knows it’s unrealistic—her dad wants her to stay in Minnesota so she’ll stay in Minnesota. And Paige will be a thousand miles away, starting a new life that doesn’t involve her childhood best friend.
“Who’s all gonna be here tonight?” Dani asks as they walk along the sidewalk, trying to start conversation.
“Oh, everyone, I think,” Paige says, bobbing her head enthusiastically. “I mean, y’know probably like the same crowd from New Years. Maybe more, since some of Luca’s college friends are back. Ion know, prolly whoever’s in a five mile radius that’s wanting free booze. I’m sure it’ll be fun.”
Dani nods and bites her lip, trying to swallow down her disappointment. “Yeah, fun,” she echoes, trying to sound convincing.
They walk in comfortable silence for a little while, Paige sometimes purposefully walking into Dani and making her stumble a little. Dani watches the blonde out of the corner of her eye, heart banging against her chest as if it’s a jail cell, forced to hold inside everything it longs to say. She wants to tell Paige that she doesn’t want to go to this party, that instead she wants to spend their night together, really together. She wants to tell Paige that the idea of losing her for three months—and then, once they graduate, for forever—has been tearing her apart inside.
But most of all, she wants to tell Paige that she loves her.
The thought has been haunting Dani for months now. It crept up on her slowly, in quiet moments and stolen glances, until now it’s become all she’s able to think about. She’s tried to push it down, tried to convince herself that it’s just a phase, just confusion. But the more she tries to ignore it, the more it seems to consume her.
Dani’s never been in love before. Sure, she’s dated boys in the past, liked them enough. But it’s never felt real, not like it does with Paige. Because Paige makes her feel alive in ways that no one else ever has. And that? That fucking scares the shit out of Dani. It scares her because she knows exactly how her dad would react if he ever found out. It scares her because she has no idea if Paige feels the same way. But most of all, it scares her because it’s not right—her liking another girl like this is wrong and it’s bad.
(Sometimes, though, it feels so right.)
And yet, tonight, with Paige leaving in the morning, Dani feels like she’s running out of time. Maybe tonight she can find the courage to say something—anything. Maybe tonight she can find the words.
(She doubts it.)
The party is already in full swing when Paige and Dani arrive. The house is packed with people, the music blaring so loud that the Callan girl can feel the bass thumping in her chest. The air is thick with the smell of alcohol, weed, and sweat, and Dani fights the urge to turn around and walk right back out the door. But Paige is already pulling her inside, their hands linked, her excitement palpable.
The pair make their way through the crowd, Paige greeting people left and right, voice loud and grin never wavering. Dani tries to keep up, tries to match her best friend’s energy—but she feels like she’s drowning in a sea of noise and bodies and it’s making her anxious.
It’s at times like these that Dani realizes just how different her and Paige are. Paige is outgoing and extroverted, a ball of energy and enthusiasm and it’s hard to ever keep her in a single place at once. She talks and talks and talks and she’s so charming she could probably make anyone fall in love with her. Dani’s the exact opposite. She’s introverted, preferring a small circle over a large one. She’s more withdrawn and quiet, and likes to listen instead of speak. She’s reserved and she doesn’t mind it—except when she’s at places like these.
“Hey, I’m gonna grab us some drinks,” Paige shouts over the music, leaning close to Dani’s ear.
“Okay,” the Callan girl nods, watching as the blonde disappears through the crowd.
Left alone, Dani takes a deep breath, glancing around the room. She recognizes a few faces, people from school, but none of them are close friends. None of them are Paige. She briefly talks to the boy that was her Chemistry partner for the majority of last semester, before excusing herself and gravitating towards a corner of the room, away from the chaos, where she can at least try to collect her thoughts.
As she stands there, watching the party unfold around her, Dani’s mind begins to wander. She thinks about how different things are gonna be this summer, without Paige. She thinks about the way Paige smiled at her earlier, how her touch sent shivers down Dani’s spine. She thinks about what it would be like to kiss her.
“Dani?”
She blinks, snapping out of her reverie at the sound of her name. She glances up to see Paige standing in front of her, two red solo cups in hand and a concerned expression painting her face.
“You okay?” the blonde asks, handing Dani one of the cups.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” the girl replies, taking the cup and offering a weak smile. “Just… thinking.”
Paige’s concern doesn’t waver. “You sure? You seem kinda, like… Ion know, off tonight?”
Dani hesitates, the words on the tip of her tongue. She wants to tell Paige everything. She wants to pour out her heart right there, in the middle of this stupid party, and finally let her best friend know just how much she means to her. But the words don’t come, stuck in the back of the brunette’s throat. She can’t bring herself to say them.
Instead, Dani takes a sip of her drink—some sort of vodka lemonade, she thinks—and forces herself to smile. “I’m good. Just a little overwhelmed, I guess. Big party.”
Paige studies her for a moment longer, blue eyes searching her best friend’s face for answers. Then, she seems to accept it, her grin returning as she leans in closer.
“Okay,” she agrees. “But lemme know if you need a break, yeah? We can always go out back on the swings for a bit or somethin’—just you and me.”
Just you and me. Dani’s heart skips a beat at the words, and she feel the tips of her ears beginning to redden like they always do when she’s flushed. However, before she can respond, someone calls out Paige’s name from across the room. The blonde girl glances over her shoulder, her smile widening when she catches sight of who’s beckoning her.
“Hey, I’ll be right back, okay? Don’t go anywhere,” Paige says, giving Dani’s arm a reassuring squeeze before heading off to greet some tall boy that Dani can only assume is another basketball player.
The brunette watches her best friend go, feeling a pang of disappointment settle in her chest. She’d been so close to saying something, so close to telling Paige how she really feels. But now, the moment is gone, swept away along with Paige, leaving Dani alone once again—albeit, with a drink this time.
The night wears on, and Dani tries her best to keep up with Paige’s energy, but it only seems to be getting harder and harder. Paige comes and goes, sometimes bringing Dani with her, sometimes not. She moves through the whole party, laughing and talking with everyone, her charming smile never faltering. For a while, Dani follows along with her best friend, almost like a lost puppy. It then dawns on her just how pathetic she is as she endures Paige’s conversations with basketball bro after basketball bro. Eventually, Dani can’t take it, excusing herself. As she walks away, it feels like it’s Paige slipping from her grasp, even though it was Dani that left the blonde girl’s side.
Dani finds herself in the kitchen, making herself another drink to keep busy. And then she downs it. And repeats the process. It makes things easier, more bearable.
She keeps going for far too long before a voice calling her name interrupts the ongoing process. Dani turns to see Thaliah Sommers, and, when her eyes set on the girl, her shoulders automatically relax and she breathes out a sigh of utter relief.
“Oh, thank God,” Dani whines, leaning into Thaliah and resting a head on the girl’s shoulder.
Thaliah has known Dani and Paige since the fourth grade, when the trio had to share a table for half the school year. It sparked a long-lasting friendship, and Dani and Paige would both probably tell you that other than each other, Thaliah is their best friend. And Jalen Suggs, too. Even though he goes to a different school, Paige and his basketball connection ended up becoming more genuine and the blonde had introduced the boy to Dani and Thaliah, which basically became history. The four clicked almost instantly, and they’ve been great friends since. But Dani knows Jalen isn’t here tonight—he’s out-of-state, for basketball. He won’t be back til the end of July, she’s pretty sure.
“You having fun?” Thaliah asks as she wraps a friendly arm around Dani’s side, letting the drunker girl lean on her. Dani shakes her head, pouting childishly. Thaliah chuckles a little at the sight. “Anxious?” she adds, knowing the Callan girl well.
“And disgusted,” Dani nods, watching a boy chug from a keg across the room, beer spewing around him.
Both girls laugh at the sight, and then Dani’s had enough, eyes flitting away from the scene to a different one. She wishes she would’ve kept her gaze on the boy instead. Because this is much worse.
Over, near the back door, Dani sees Paige. Paige Bueckers, clear as day, in the flesh. And she’s kissing someone. A girl. A pretty blonde girl that Dani doesn’t recognize. The sight hits Dani like a punch to the gut, knocking the wind out of her.
She stares in disbelief, her heart pounding in her chest as she watches Paige pull the girl closer, their bodies pressed together, their lips moving in perfect sync. Dani digs her fingers into the side of her solo cup, crumbling it slightly; she feels like she’s going to be sick.
“Even more so now,” Dani mumbles, referencing her last comment.
Thaliah’s eyes widen, starting, “Dani—”
But Dani won’t hear it. She won’t hear anything. Without thinking, she turns and practically bolts from the house, her drink forgotten on the counter as she pushes her way through the crowd. She needs to get out of here. She needs to breathe. She needs to get as far away from that sight as possible.
The cool night air hits her like a splash of cold water as she stumbles out onto the front lawn, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps. Her mind races, a jumbled mess of emotions that she can’t untangle. She feels betrayed, hurt, angry, but most of all, she feels stupid.
So fucking stupid.
Stupid for thinking that Paige could ever feel the same about her. Stupid for believing she had a chance. Stupid for letting herself become enough of a mess to not only like another girl romantically—but for that girl to be her best friend.
“Dani! Danielle, wait!”
Paige’s voice calls out from behind the girl, and Dani feels her heart lurch. She doesn’t want to stop. She doesn’t want to face Paige right now, not after what she just saw. But her feet betray her, slowing to a halt as she reaches the sidewalk.
Paige catches up to her, slightly out of breath, her expression a mix of confusion and concern. “Dan, what the hell? Why’d you just run out like that?”
Dani turns to face the basketball player, and the anger she’s been holding back finally begins to boil over. “Why do you think, Paige?” she snaps, voice trembling slightly as she tries to keep her eyes from swimming.
Paige frowns, clearly taken aback by the venom in her best friend’s words. “I don’t know!” she replies, throwing her hands up. “That’s why I’m asking! What’s going on with you tonight?”
Dani lets out a bitter laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. “What’s going on with me? What’s going on with me? You seriously don’t fucking get it, do you?”
Paige’s confusion only deepens. “No, I don’t! Dani, please, just talk to me—what happened? What’s wrong?”
Dani clenches her fists at her sides, trying to keep her voice steady. “I just watched you make out with some random girl, Paige! That’s what happened! That’s what’s wrong!”
Paige’s eyes widen with realization, her baby blues flitting across Dani’s face in almost a panic. She takes a step closer to her best friend as she quickly says, “Oh… oh, shit, Dani, I’m sorry. I didn’t think—”
“Exactly!” the Callan girl cuts her off, her voice rising. “You didn’t think! You never think! You don’t think about anyone but yourself!”
Paige recoils as if she’s been slapped, her face falling. “Dani, that’s not fair…”
“Isn’t it?” Dani shoots back, anger spilling over once more. “You didn’t even care that this was our last night together! You didn’t care that I wanted to spend it with you, just the two of us! You only cared about going to this stupid party and kissing some random girl! Like I don’t even matter to you!”
Paige’s eyes fill with tears, and she reaches out to touch her best friend’s arm, but she jerks away. “Dani, please, that’s not true. I promise you it’s not. You matter to me more than anything. I just… I don’t know what to say.”
The brunette’s anger begins to wane, instead replaced by the overwhelming sadness that’s been building inside her all night. Her eyes swim and blur as her voice softens, shaking with emotion. “Then why does it feel like I’m losing you? Why does it feel like if I don’t hold onto you as tight as possible, you’ll slip away from me?”
Paige stares at her, eyes shining with unshed tears. For a long moment, neither of them say anything. The only sound is the distant hum of the party and the rustle of leaves with the breeze. Dani’s heart pounds in her chest, her pulse quickening with each second that passes.
Finally, Paige takes a deep breath and takes a step closer to Dani, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’re not losing me, Dan. I promise you, you’re not.”
Dani stares at her, vision blurred with tears, voice breaking. “Then why does it feel like I am?”
Paige stands still for a long moment, shutting her eyes tightly. When she opens them again, tears begin to spill down her cheeks. “Danielle,” she starts quietly, and Dani’s eyebrows furrow slightly at the usage of her full name. “Danielle, I have been in love with you since the sixth grade.” The statement makes the brunette’s eyes widen, jaw going slack, as her own tears finally begins to fall. “Remember when I got that concussion, at my game? You— you came to my house as soon as you found out, and you were crying at the thought of me being hurt. And I was the one that had to console you. And— and then you”—Paige sniffles and swipes a hand across her nose—“you kissed me on the head and told me that you would always take care of me. And that was when I knew. I knew that I loved you and that I could never ever really be with anyone that wasn’t my best friend, Danielle Lizzie Callan. I knew it then, and I—I know it now.”
Paige pauses, and then her voice breaks even more when she starts again, “But I’ve been so scared to tell you. I never thought you liked girls, I always thought you were straight. There was no way you could love me back, right? And I—I know how your dad feels about it all, and you know how long it took me to even tell you I liked girls because I was afraid that you felt the same way towards it that he did. And even when I found out you didn’t, I still thought that a girl being in love with you—that me being in love with you—would disgust you and you’d hate me for it. So I never said anything.”
Paige ducks her head as a sob cuts through her throat. Dani takes a step closer, reaching up to cup her best friend’s face in her hands.
“I don’t hate you, Paige. I could never hate you,” she tells the blonde sincerely, keeping her voice even. “And I could never hate you, because I’m in love with you, too.”
Before Paige can say anything, Dani leans in and presses her lips to the blonde’s. The kiss is soft at first, tentative, as if they’re both waiting for the other to pull away. Even if Dani feels her cross necklace begin to burn into her skin, she can’t stop. She won’t.
All the anger, all the hurt, all the confusion seems to melt away in that moment, leaving only the overwhelming relief of finally, finally knowing that Paige feels the same way. Dani keeps on kissing her, hands slipping from her cheeks to the nape of her neck as Paige’s hands find their way to Dani’s waist.
It isn’t perfect. It’s messy, and frantic, and a little sloppy, but it’s real. And it’s them.
When they finally pull apart, both of them are breathing hard, their foreheads resting together as they try to catch their breath. Dani feels like she’s floating, feels like she’s dreaming, and she doesn’t ever want to wake up.
“I love you,” Paige whispers. “I’m sorry it took me so long to say it.”
Dani feels her heart swell up with so much happiness it might just burst. “I love you, too, P. So much.”
They don’t go back to the party. Instead, they go to Dani’s house, where they planned to have a sleepover anyways. The walk is short, and they do it hand-in-hand, swaying a little and giggling a lot. When they get to Dani’s porch and the girl begins to shuffle for her keys, Paige takes the opportunity to peck her neck from behind over and over and over again, whispering in the girl’s ear, “I love you.”
It’s so refreshing to hear Paige say it that, for a moment, Dani forgets about her keys and pulls her best friend in for another kiss on the mouth, closing her eyes and savoring it.
Eventually, they do get inside and find their way up into Dani’s bedroom. They change, and shuffle their way under the covers, bodies close, skin touching. Dani tries not to think about her father in the room beside hers, or the bible on her bedside table.
“I don’t want to leave you tomorrow,” Paige murmurs against Dani’s collarbone, sighing.
Dani’s heart slows at the thought, a deep pang, but she knows that there isn’t another option. “I don’t want you to leave either. But we’ll be okay. We’ll miss each other, but we’ll be okay.”
Paige nods, looking up and letting her eyes flit across Dani’s face as if she’s trying to memorize every detail of it. “Yeah, we will.”
(They won’t.)

“Ooh, someone had fun,” he giggles from the couch while you stumble into the living room. He knew what to expect the moment he got your texts an hour ago.

okay, will i see you soon?
ya soon we can sex
He laughed at that one, a hearty belly laugh. You’re only like this when you’re wasted. Clawing and snarling like a starved animal at the sight of him, the thought of him.
When you stumble in you’re lucid for the most part but your eyes are glassy with evidence of a good night. He can tell you smoked too, which means you’ll need more ibuprofen than you normally do when you drink.
You drop your purse and jacket next to the door, kicking off your heels by the TV stand. He’ll pick them up later.
“Hi baby,” he smirks coolly while you make your way to him on the couch.
“I had so much fun,” you respond, unbuttoning your jeans and shimmying them off, “But I never wanna wear ‘standing jeans’ again.”
He doesn’t know what you mean by that but he doesn’t ask, just nods, welcoming you with open arms while you straddle his lap. The second your faced dips into his neck he knows your promises of ravaging him are long broken. Your body relaxes, sinking in against his chest.
“I’m glad you had a good night, sweetheart,” he murmurs quietly, hand sliding up and down your back. Your breaths come in slow, he can feel your lashes fluttering against his skin while you force yourself to stay awake.
“Would’ve been funner if you were there,” you say into the crook of his neck.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you nod, “You make everything fun.”
Eddie’s heart swells, “You think?”
You lean up, looking at him with glassy eyes, more tired than wasted, “I know.”
He leans his head back between the cushions, bangs dusting his eyes, “You make everything fun for me, too.”
You grin, a sloppy one, “You know how I can make tonight really fun?”
Your fingers skate up his chest, sending a shiver through him that stirs in his sweatpants.
“Sweetheart…” he warns gently.
“C’mon,” you whine, tugging at the hem of his t-shirt, “Please.”
“Doll, you’ve been drinkin’,” he reminds, reaching up to cup your cheek, “You know I don’t like playing around like that.”
“I’m not drunk though,” you protest, “I can do the drunk driver test. I swear.”
“By the way you’re falling asleep sitting up, I doubt it,” he laughs. He leans up, supporting you on his thighs while he goes in to plant a loving kiss on your lips, “I think we should head to bed.”
“Lame,” you frown, scrunching your face. You shimmy off his lap and cross your arms, walking down the hall to the bedroom.
“Kissin’ me like that like some kinda Cassanova…” you grumble. He rolls his eyes, getting some water and aspirin for you while you change into some pajamas.
“That’s what the call me. Eddie Casanova Munson,” he grizzles, leaning against the door frame with the glass and pills and hand, “Your libations, princess.”
Your sour look doesn’t fade when you take them, but you to say a quiet thank you when the pills pass your lips.
“Am I not fun anymore?” he teases.
“No, you’re still fun,” you sigh, crawling into bed where he follows. Eddie takes a silent win when you wrap yourself around him after sliding between the sheets.
“I’ll be more fun tomorrow,” he smiles, burying himself in your neck. You feel his warm scratchy chin and shiver, soft kisses following it, “It’s gonna rain.”
“That doesn’t sound very fun,” you murmur, the bed feeling cozier with every passing moment while the alcohol rushes in you for one last sleepy hurrah.
“Yeah it is,” he responds quietly, feeling you grow heavy and slack against him, “We can stay in all day.”
“Boring.”
“Boring huh?” he smirks, “I don’t know, I thought maybe we could revisit your texts.”

Daily Vibe Check 11/14
Seunghan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strength + The Star
This is a lot of courage and faith. Particularly, it is not necessarily peoactive action based but internal. I have said before that he seems to be preparing himself for something, and it seems to be it. He has a lot of hope today. Today is a good day for him.
What is he doing today?
Tumblr media
The Wheel of Fortune + Knight of Cups + The Emperor
This is a lot of internal and personal work. He is still very much in the energy of acceptance. A lot of people have seemed to get the wrong idea from this. So, while I was reading this today, I felt called to a specific phrase in pulling the Wheel card. "What comes up must come down." Understand that this is true vise versa as well. Seunghan's acceptance stems from the fact that he feels he cannot possibly reach a point lower than what had happened now. Whatever happens will be just as impactful and in a positive way in his mind. Today, he is handling his affairs and future plans. For once, he is alone, but he is not depressed today. He has a lot of willpower, a lot of heart, and determination to make the best out of his day. He may interact with a pet or other animals today. I also see him practicing maybe singing? Something creative and vocal.
Finances (someone asked abt this so adding it to check-in)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3 of Coins + 3 of Wands + 8 of Swords
The spread suggests the current situation is one where if he works hard with others, there is a definite opportunity to reap very good rewards and new opportunities to come. However, with the 8 of Swords, there seems to be a tension in that these rewards and opportunities cannot be reached until he has broken free of certain constraints and setbacks. I think the current situation. But He seems to have a good support system- at least financially to be healthy and okay for the time being. The situation could change soon though if nothing is done about the 8 of Swords energy.
Bottom of the Deck:
Tumblr media
The Lovers
In this context, we are talking about the harmonious decision made between multiple entities. I think this card seeks to represent Seunghan's intentions. He wants things to end harmoniously with no ill feelings or contempt. He is going to choose peace every time. That's just how and who he is. (Libras amirite lmfao)
Final Notes:
Tbh guys I am getting the feeling that good things will happen but not when we want them to. Everything i have been reading daily has been screaming PATIENCE. I am not that patient tbh. But i think I could wait a bit longer as long as the ending is satisfactory.
However, i am being told it is seriously important that we make whatever time we have left count here....things have been shifting, and SM is sly no matter what. They believe this could still possibly fade into the dark. Things need to be more visible, and garner more attention. POSITIVE attention TOWARDS Seunghan and attention to SM to DO SOMETHING not just insult them- but a literal call to action in a way we have not done before. I keep saying this, but tbh it's super super important right now as I speak. I'm getting literal goosebumps about it, so I pulled some cards asking abt Seunghan's return to Riize to checkup:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7 of Wands + 5 of Wands
This is a fight. We MUST stand our ground. We MUST not forget what we are doing. And We CANNOT afford to lose the war. It is clear there are still details and stipulations causing a lot of hesitance and inner fighting on SMs side. We absolutely need to remind them again why they listened to the wrong side. If we don't manage to have at least one more final hurrah here- it's not looking AS good as before.
Please please please do not give up.

your parents were meant to be returning to the farmhouse tomorrow, and outlaw!johnb would have to go back into hiding. but not without one final hurrah.
the old horseshoe — the name of the best saloon in town according to john b, one he swore by for the best drinks and best atmosphere. you weren’t so sure, you were already nervous about sneaking away from home so close to when your parents were supposed to be returning, it simply didn’t seem like a good idea.
but the outlaw himself had convinced you to live life, and that he’s not sure when the next time the two of you would get to actually spend time time together— so reluctantly you trot out the door with him, hopping onto the horse in your dress and boots and forced yourself not to give the house another glance for the evening.
he’s right about the drinks, wrong about the atmosphere. as the two of you sit in a rickety old leather booth in a dimly lit corner of the saloon, there’s no one occupying the dusty floors but the regulars, sat alone harbouring their drinks and the overworked, tired bartenders cleaning tables. john b sits across from you in the booth, staring at his glass of whiskey.
“yeah uh, it’s usually a little more… lively in here.” the brunette winces before grinning up at you sheepishly. he was so charming without trying, your heart flutters and you find yourself giggling.
“i don’t mind. just wanna spend time with you, anyway.” you shrug shyly, and it’s his turn to preen at the sweetness. he stares at you fondly, that warm smile on his face with a hint of sadness in his eyes at your circumstances — and it’s like you read each others mind. your own smile fades and you sigh, taking a sip of your own drink. “i can’t believe we aren’t going to be able to play husband and wife anymore.” you pout, and it’s adorable.
“mhm… well— not for a little while. this situation isn’t permanent okay we just… we need to find a way to get you out of there. you can come live on the road with me… if that’s what you’d want.” he proposes, big brown eyes wide and serious.
“you’d let me?” you tilt your head.
“look i don’t wanna get you in trouble but… i don’t know if i can be without you.” he rasps. you stare, never knowing someone could feel so in love and yet so conflicted on what choice to make. he shakes the moment off, not wanting to dampen the evening with such a proposal and the grin returns to his face. “we can totally talk about it later. for now… why don’t you come round and sit with me? you’re so far away, kinda miss you from over here.” he jokes and you’re hopping up without a thought, scooching round the booth to sit pressed right up next to him where you belonged.
the night goes on, and the saloon doesn’t get any more lively — but you don’t care. the two of you chat, flirt, drink— until you’re feeling warm and hazy, like the night would never end. with this light intoxication comes your need, something you didn’t know the house wine could do.
as he tells an extravagant story from his more reckless days, you shuffle on the warm leather bench, sticky between your thighs and teeth clamping down on your lip. he cuts himself off with a chuckle, leaning in.
“yeah i… can’t focus on the story if you’re looking at me like that, honey.”
“hmm?” you giggle, offguard and he’s already swooping in to kiss you.
one thing leads to another, and he’s got his tongue down your throat. you pull away breathless after a moment, face all hot as you look around for wandering eyes. the two of you really were shoved into a dim corner, and the regulars seemed totally unphased— but still, you weren’t used to being so public. you weren’t even used to being in the public at all.
“johm’bee” you mewl, clutching him all hazy and horny the way he loved. he almost couldn’t believed he’d got you like this in public.
“c’mere, it’s fine.” he hums, easily pulling you to straddle his lap. “no one’s watching. you’re safe with me.” he groans against your mouth as guides you back for more.
as if you can’t help yourself, your hips start to roll on his lap — the coarse, starchy denim of his jeans rubbing right up against your clit through your thin panties beneath your skirt. you glide easily, back and forth — the copious lubrication of your arousal making it easy to do so. he chuckles quietly against you, he should have known you’d be quick to start humping him like a sweet little puppy.
“definitely gonna miss this.” he comments through shared breath as he guides your movements by the ass. he brings you up higher, and your clit catches on his big heavy cowboy belt making you whine loudly.
the outlaw pulls you back gently with a hand softly grasping the back of your neck. the other hand raises to press a finger to your lips, shushing you with wide sympathetic eyes.
“shh shh shh, hey — listen sweetheart.” he cooes and you lock in, eyes teary and doe like as you nod, still humping away on his hard, concealed erection. “you can cum right here, that’s no problem — as long as you know that after this we are going straight back to the house so i can fuck you properly. okay?” he gently squeezes the back of your neck, prompting an answer. your dress was all hiked up, and you were pretty sure that anyone who glances in your direction would see exactly what was going on — but you didn’t care.
“m’hm—okay—yes please!” you pant, forcing your voice into a high pitched whisper.
“alright. atta girl. make a pretty mess for me, honey, i’m here.” he croons, returning his hands to your hips to rocket you straight into a public orgasm.

there is something profoundly depressing about the russo-ukraine war. here are two dying countries (demographic pyramids for both look awful, both have TFR <= 1.5) just grinding their last together and. for what?
average age in both armies is over 30. (ukraine's is over 40). ukraine is not even thinking about conscripting people under the age of 25. the median age of the people russia did conscript was 35 (for reference: in ww2 the average age of the american solider was 22-24). this is an old man's war - neither can afford to send their young, they're too precious, and even then, there aren't many of them left.
ukraine has a gdp per capita of around 5k. russia of 12k. it's likely neither of their countries will see their economies grow substantially after this, if at all. both remain highly corrupt. ukraines infrastructure has been shattered.
we've had 2 years of war now. 2 years. 100000 people have died. in the last year the front has barely moved. the war is expected to last at least another year. russia sells wheat to north korea for artillery shells while we try to scrape together political support for the latest equipment of the 1990s to send to ukraine.
even if ukraine wins, so what? its best and brightest will leave as soon as they can, presumably the rest will be stuck doing reconstruction work and defending the now heavily militarized border in case of another invasion as the country slowly dies due to emmigration and fertility collapse.
even if russia wins, so what? its best and brightest will leave as soon as they can, presumably the rest will be stuck building occupation governments and selling natural resources to china while its country slowly dies due to economic sanction and alcoholism.
if the war ended tomorrow, maybe we'd all come to our senses about how senseless it was - two dying nations throwing the remnants of the former soviet army into battle with each other, an orgy of senseless violence, the final hurrah before slowly fading into an endless stream of pension payments and economic dependency, neither side given enough ability to do anything.
just old men dying, dying, dying, until the guns go silent.

The Journey Ahead AU Part 1 of 2
(This is a thought I've been chewing on, and some details might pop up in the Bewitched By Yuletide AU)
A!Eddie gets out of Hawkins w his band, and they make it. They tour the world selling out stadiums, they record 12 albums together & 5 of those albums win a Grammy for Album of the Year, the rest win Grammys for the lead single or the music videos, basically every album wins "a" Grammy,
then they go radio silent after finishing the tour of their 12th album "Defeating The Dragon" until one day nearly 3 months later their official accounts across the internet announce the band is going their separate ways, tht they all saw different futures ahead of them, tht they loved their fans & the opportunities they got to have thanks to their fans & as a farewell they released a re-recording of the lead single tht got them to where they are titled "The Journey Ahead" (it was the first track on their first album)
Life goes on, the industry moves on, and the band do too. A!Jeff becomes a successful movie star, A!Gareth hosts a radio show listened to across the nation, B!Felix (unnamed freak) has a wildly successful solo career no one saw coming, and Eddie... the press & the fans don't rlly know where Eddie went. The last ppl heard concerning him was the sale of his mansion in LA. Life still goes on, and the mystery of what happened to Eddie Munson fades into the background noise.
3 years later the 20th anniversary of their first album approaches & Felix feels they should do something all together again. A true final hurrah.
Meanwhile Eddie is living a fairly normal life in a small college town in Oregon, he owns & operates a book store, spends all day Sunday w the ppl he's come to know as family since leaving fame behind, has 2 successful books written under a pseudonym, and his mate is pregnant w their first child.
O!Steve inherited a lot of money from his grandparents & he decided to pour tht money into opening a no kill shelter & animal sanctuary, he bought a farmhouse not far from the town, his best friend A!Robin lives w him on the farm & coordinates much of the nitty gritty business details, & he focuses on caring for the animals. Eddie blows into town after a successful stint in rehab & moves into the neighboring farmhouse w the old alpha who stobin have Sunday breakfast w every week. They don't think much of it till Wayne calls postponing the Sunday breakfast till next week, explaining tht his nephew is in town. The next week arrives & stobin have an unholy habit of being morning ppl. They go abt morning chores before they walk to Wayne's for breakfast, Steve & Robin r greeted first by the two dogs Wayne adopted from them, then Wayne himself, & when they step inside Steve lays eyes on Eddie. It's like the world stops but Steve's been hurt by alphas before so he's cautious of the attention Eddie gives him, even if Steve feels like something clicks into place whenever they're together. Robin tests Eddie's determination to court her best friend properly for nearly a year & only let's up when Eddie gifts Steve an enclosed patio for the cats of the shelter.
Steddie court for abt 3 more months before taking the leap & mating with official courthouse papers & a small reception tht the band attend (bc they never stopped talking or dropped contact) Eddie moves into the farmhouse & Robin moves out. She doesn't go far though bc that's her platonic soulmate & Eddie built her a cottage on the sanctuary property (it is a big piece of land) so she's always nearby but now there's an illusion of privacy for all 3 of them.
Then the 20th anniversary approaches & the rest of the band want to do something. Gareth thinks it'd b fun to record a limited podcast series, Jeff wants to curate a documentary, and Felix wants to give recording a new album a try. Eddie's the one who settles the arguments by proposing they do all 3. They've all been writing since separating as a band, they've got more than enough to talk abt for a podcast, & a documentary might b fun especially because Jeff wants it to b his directorial debut.
i know some people hate rockstar eddie, but i will always be a fan and i love when he uses his money/resources to woo his stevie🥰

Just thinking ahead to the Vengeance Saga, and a few things that have been shared with us.
We know Wisdom Saga is going to be the first saga that doesn't have the chorus we've had up to this point; the chorus represents the crew, who are gone now, and was Eurylochus's "instrument" as the one who speaks for the crew. Its absence in Odysseus's songs emphasizes that he is alone now.
We know Jorge likes to reprise previous songs in ways that punch you right in the gut.
We know the title of Odysseus's final confrontation with Poseidon in the Vengeance Saga, and in many ways the "final boss fight" of Epic (the suitors are a post-climax boss fight, the one where Ody is now so OP he is the boss and there's no way he can lose) is titled "600 Strike". All Jorge has shared about the song is that he had to record elsewhere to avoid a noise complaint and "things get INSANE and this scene is supposed to feel straight out of an anime!"
600 men died on Odysseus's journey home. It just seems to me that this song is ripe for a triumphant reprise of "Remember Them", Odysseus's lost friends being there in spirit to back him up there and letting Eurylochus, Polites, and the chorus have one last hurrah before we move to the final chapter.
Consider briefly; after all the guilt and blame and distrust and betrayal, the men being there in spirit isn't just to give Ody the strength to fight past Poseidon but also to lay to rest the rancor and regret that lay between them all so he can have a moment of catharsis and reconciliation with his brothers before going home with a better memory of them than how things ended. "Remember them, remember us," delivered not just to Poseidon, the killer of 90% of the crew, but to Odysseus, their captain who has to carry their memories home since none of the others made it.
For maximum happy-sad, a moment as the ghosts of the crew fade away in the aftermath, Eurylochus acknowledging his brother and captain one last time with a serene "remember them" and Polites leading them offstage with a "remember us!" Odysseus reprising his boast to the Cyclops, this time as a reminder of who he is; more than just a man fighting for his life. He is the reigning King of Ithaca, and the bearer of the memories of 600 men. He is the infamous Odysseus, and he is going home.

It doesn't piss anyone off. It's marketing and networking. Lame ass networking but whatever. He needs to think he's somebody. Used goods and beyond his sell date, but he tries. As much as you try to create drama, he's boring and is fading away. One last hurrah in California, pretending to be something he never was and never will be. Poor guy will have find cheaper hookers to hire for his entertainment as he won't be getting his 4000 gigalo drink fee much longer.
Dear Last Hurrah Anon,
You lost me at 'gigalo', punk.
Wee question for you: if you hate that guy so much, why don't you move your fat, lame ass somewhere else and find another obsession? Or even better, give your life a purpose. I don't know, woman, anything goes: fly a kite, discover penicillin, help a child, find a nice guy to take you to the movies, giggle and share some 🍿 with.
Right now, you look like a big, clunky Monument of Human Hatred, with parochial spelling. But you also look sad, lonely and insecure. If your only pleasure in life is to spread your daily dose of poison wherever you can manage to, I am afraid you've got a big problem, and there's nothing I - or anyone else, for that matter - can do to help.

Tumblr media
Everything felt wrong.
From the moment you opened your eyes in the morning til after you've wrapped up your class with the second years, everything just did not feel right…
You could not pinpoint the cause, like an itch beneath your skin that you were unable to scratch. And to your misfortune, your unease showed just enough for your co-teacher, Gojo Satoru, to notice.
“You look like you just touched chewed gum, L/n~chan.” His infamous giggle, like a menace melody, rang through the faculty room.
A heavy sigh left your mouth as you continued to type the report you have neglected to work on from your previous mission. “It's…nothing, Gojo.”
“Eh~.” Poke, poke, his freakishly long fingers mercilessly assaulted your cheek. “But you look so miserable~.”
Having no energy to entertain this massive cat, you begrudgingly tried to ignore him.
A few seconds later, the office door opened, revealing Gojo's better half, Geto Suguru. Well, better half was an overestimate. Geto Suguru was a whole other menace but at least he's more tolerable than his partner.
“Toru? Shouldn't you be with Megumi right now?” You raised an eyebrow; Gojo had told you Megumi was back in his dorm.
“Gojo…did you give Megumi your task…again?”
“Maybe~,” he shamelessly replied as he spun around in his office chair.
“You're supposed to retrieve a special-grade cursed object, Toru!” Geto scolded, forcing the chair to halt so he could face him.
“He'll be fine, baby~.” Geto facepalmed.
“A gentle reminder you willingly proposed to this pain in the ass,” you said before taking a sip of your poison for the evening.
Geto's face scrunched, a look of deep regret painted on his face, while Gojo's jaw dropped, seemingly offended by this. “Hey! That's mean.”
“Don't worry, babe, I still love you.” Geto kissed his cheek before pulling this noodle of a man to his feet, and you gagged at the display of affection.
“Really? Right in front of me?” Gojo stuck out his tongue as he clung onto Geto’s arm, who was clearly amused by your misery.
“You're the one who refuses to see people, L/n-san,” referencing the countless attempts they made to set you up with someone they know.
“Mhm~ you're gonna get old and alone, L/n~chan~.”
An irk mark appeared on your forehead. “I swear, Gojo, if you stay here any longer, you won't have a full head of hair.”
“Eik!” Gojo pathetically jumped onto Geto, reflexively wrapping his arms around his neck as Geto held him up like he weighed nothing.
Geto chuckled, “I'm taking this pain in the ass away now.”
You rolled your eyes, dismissively waving your hand. “Just go, you two.”
“We'll see you tomorrow, then, L/n-san. Don't stay here for too long.”
“Mhm, yeah, yeah, I'll try not to.” Once the duo was out of the room, you caught a bit of their conversation.
[ Gojo: Let’s get Kukifuku before picking up Megumi~]
Though you can't see it, you just know Geto was shaking his head but would ultimately give into Gojo's whims.
You were right because the next thing you knew Geto was agreeing.
Just as their voices faded away, a sharp pain shot through your head, before disappearing just as abruptly as its appearance. You shrugged it off before continuing your work.
:
After a few, the initial ache came back again with a cruel vengeance as the pain crawled into every crevice of your brain. You started to feel nauseous, your vision began to blur, and not long after, everything turned black.
Tumblr media
You woke up from your little nap, nestled onto your husband's lap, wrapped around one of his strong arms. You looked up, your sleepy eyes catching a blurry image of your handsome husband. A dopey grin stretched onto your face as he fussed over the small bundle of joy in his other arm.
Once he noticed you were awake, he turned his head to face you, pinching your cheek with one of his free hands. “Look kid, your mother is finally awake.”
Your smile widened even more as you heard the melodious gurgles of your little baby. You sat up to lean over and reach your hand to hold onto his small, gloved ones.
“Sorry, baby, Mommy was just feeling a little tired~.” Your husband's warm hands rested on the small of your back and onto your shoulder. Your baby started to playfully punch the air, happily kicking his chubby feet.
“Hm~ yeah, go reprimand your mother.” You playfully glared at your husband.
“Ryo! Just so we're clear, this is all your fault.” He just gave you a look.
“Woman, are you on about?”
“Oh, I don't know…fucking me to oblivion just this morning? Hm?!” You accused him, leaning closer until your nose was almost touching.
Sukuna deadpanned, “Say that to me again but do remember you're the one who begged me not to stop.”
Heat crawled up to your cheeks. “I- uh sp-ugh…s besides the point…”
He quirked up an eyebrow, “Hm…yes, sure…whatever you say, wife.”
Before you could say anything more, your little boy made a few noises before spiraling into a crying session.
“Oh no, Yuuji baby~.” You reached out to hold him in your arms, rocking him a bit before realizing he must be hungry. “Hungry, are we now?”
Tumblr media
You bolted awake, the migraine gone, but the ringing of your phone might as well have brought it back. You looked at the caller ID; it was Megumi.
Without a second thought you answered it. “Gumi?”
[“L/n-sensei, uh, there was a situation.”]
You heard a big crash in the background.
“Are you in danger or hurt, Megumi?” Worry filled you; you swore if Gojo and Geto let this kid get hurt while in their watch-
[“Danger, no.”]
You let out a sigh of relief.
[“Hurt…yes.”]
“I-what? I thought it was a simple pick-up?”
You heard him sigh, [“It was supposed to be, but it spiraled out of control.”]
“Oh dear…do I need to go there?”
[“No, but are you still in Jujutsu Tech?”]
“Yes, why?” You heard him choke out his words, and you found it adorable, really adorable.
[“C-can you patch me up when we get back?”]
You fought the urge to coo, “Of course! I'll wait for you at the gate.”
[“Thank you, sensei.”]
You chuckled, “No problem~ oh, and please be a dear and say to Gojo and Geto they're dead once I see them.”
[“I will, oh, we'll be heading back in a bit.”]
“Okay then, I'll see you soon.” He ended the call, and you stretched a bit before preparing the first aid kit for your injured student.
:
You stood near the entrance of the tech when a cold chill ran up your spine as you made out the figures of Gojo, Geto, Megumi, and a pink-haired boy slumped onto Gojo's shoulders.
Tumblr media
Sulfur filled your lungs, your eyes fought to stay wide open as you fought tooth and nail from your captors and the special chains they caught you with.
You let out a strangled scream; to your right was your husband struggling to fight his way towards you. Tears of pure rage streamed down your face as you witnessed the grueling sight. Your husband’s arms and legs were wrapped with red-hot chains as several sorcerers tried to subdue his rampage.
And as if this sight was not enough, your world slowed when you heard your precious little boy's scream.
Your head snapped to the direction. Your boy, your Yuuji, was being held like some animal by some disgusting sorcerer.
“YUUJI!” He was supposed to have run far from here already; why is he here?!
This split-second distraction was a grave mistake as the sorcerers took this chance to finally pin you down.
A guttural sound came out of you as they began to gag you and put more chains to keep you from moving. You were breaking your skin, your bones even as you feraly tried to break the chains.
Your husband seemed to also have seen what was happening as his rampage seemed to amp up. You could see your Yuuji trying to get out of the man's hold, kicking, punching, and screaming to let go. Your baby was calling your name and your husband's. Your heart broke again and again as you heard his broken voice crying for you.
“Kill the child.” Some fly dared to order. The man holding your baby pinned him down while another was holding up a blade ready to swing.
NO
NO
NO
MY BABY
YUUJI MY BABY
LET GO
You gave everything you've got to loosen the chains, dislocating your arm in the process just to give you even a small opening to brutally pry yourself out of the hold. You ignored the searing pain everywhere in your body as you made your way to your crying child.
What you failed to notice was a sorcerer behind you; she took a stance and without hesitation swung the blade right on your back.
You stumbled forward, a gut-wrenching feeling coursing through your veins; you did not even feel the blade because right in front of you, the sorcerer plunged his sword into your Yuuji's chest.
He mercilessly stabbed thrice, “Stop it, soldier!” The woman behind you shouted, and the man hesitated before giving up, muttering curses before stepping away.
You pathetically crawled your way to your baby, blood dragging and pooling around both of you as you took your boy into your weak arms.
“M-mom-mommy…” His weak voice choked out.
“I-I'm so sorry, my baby…” Your shaky vision caught his tearful eyes. You tried your best to hold his bloody body nearer to you.
“I l-love you, my Y-yuuji.” You choked out as you felt his weak heart give out.
Tumblr media
A lone tear started to fall from your eye. Not a second later, like a dam had been forced open, tears freely flowed from your eyes. Emotions of unknown origins weighed heavily on your heart as the face of the pink-haired boy came into view.
“Oh dear gods…my Yuuji.”

Hi there, it's me, your girl, knocking on your door and asking for a tiny fic if you take to this prompt 😊
Strip poker. Lmao no. But maybe. It'd just be Tav getting naked as they lose horribly to him.
Okay actual prompt, sorry. I love possessive Raphael, it shivers me timbers.
What if after he successfully gets the Crown with Tav's help. And Tav thinks they're done forever, and is sad about it during their hurrah meal (THAT HE PROMISED US BUT WE DIDNT GET IN GAME?), but Raphael is very much not done with Tav yet. But plays them along a little, delighting in how attached they seem to be to him.
But also, feel free to do the strip poker adjacent if that appeals more. 😉 Thank you my dear!
________
A/N: I’m going to be super honest, babe. I almost did the strip poker prompt.
________
“This, my dear, to a most successful partnership.” Raphael held up his glass, a beautiful crystal flute that seemed to catch the firelight; held it. Tav didn’t want to guess how rare it was, or how much it cost. Raphael seemed inclined to excess; the meal he’d promised so many moons prior reflected those beliefs. The first wine he’d served was centuries old; the second was even older. The gown he’d left provided, perfectly tailored, was set with enough jewels to sustain a small kingdom.
Tav smiled at his toast but could not find it in herself to respond. As fine as the night had been, it held a note of finality that sat heavy on her heart. It was the bow on his victory and his crown. After this, they’d go their separate ways.
It was objectively the correct course of action. Dealing with a devil of any sort was ill-advised; dealing with one so intimately bordered on suicide.
Raphael smirked at her, cocking his head to the side. The firelight caught him in profile, sharpening already fine features, casting his eyes in deeper shadows. He leaned forward. “My, has the cat finally caught your tongue? Here? At the end of all things?”
“Not in the least. Only tired.”
“I could send you back…”
“No!” The answer was far too quick. The devil arched a brow, smiling with teeth. He folded his hands in front of him, long fingers interlaced. Tav tried not to fixate on them, or the way his thumb shifted, stroking some invisible line across his wrist. “No, that isn’t necessary. It’s only…I supposed a part of me didn’t expect things to end so soon.”
“But it’s been months, my sweet. Are you not tired of the road? The violence?” Lower, a note of teasing crept into his voice. “My company?” Tav huffed. The adventurer sipped her wine to stop her immediate reply. The one the devil undoubtedly wanted. His eyes, bright as hellfire, glowed. “It should grieve me to leave you wanting, little mouse. You need only say that word and…” he snapped his fingers. The candles leaped with new liveliness before fading to a more intimate level. “We might find some new way to occupy our time.”
“You have hells to conquer.”
“And what is a conquest without dear friends?” He chuckled, and Tav fought the urge to shiver. The fireplace was far too large for the banquet hall. Avernus was naturally hot. The air in her lungs felt stagnant and overheated. “Admit it. You're curious. What will Raphael accomplish?”
“I don’t doubt you if that’s what you’re implying.”
“Never. I would not dream of slandering my talents or your good sense, pet.” He extended his hand, palm up. “But I would never force my suit. You are, as ever, entirely free to make your own choices.”
Tav pursed her lips. The little alarm in the back of her head was screaming. Run, it said, get far from here and far from him. She’d never been good at listening to those notes of reason. Raphael must have seen it too. The devil smirked, the right corner of his lips curling back to highlight the point of his fangs. “I wouldn’t…see us part ways. Not yet.”
“Mmm. And why not? Indulge this…inquiring mind.”
She sighed, shrugging. “Because I’m…fond of you, devil.”
“Good girl, honesty is always the best policy.” Gods, but he looked insufferably pleased with himself. Raphael leaned back, resting his chin in his palm. He drummed his fingers against his cheek. “It would be dangerous for you to stay, of course, and I could never endanger one so dear to me. Unless…” he let the sentence hang between them, full of potential and thoroughly premeditated. Tav could feel the noose tightening, the hooks he’d set in her flesh from their first meeting tugging at her soul. “A patron makes all the difference in the hells. Were you to swear yourself to me, you might remain.”
She laughed. “Is that all? Just put myself in your hands?”
“My hands, my lap, my bed.” His smirk took on a particularly feline quality. “Don’t look so surprised, pet. I kept the Emperor out of that lovely head. Did you think I hadn’t seen what was in it?”
He made a vague gesture with his left hand, and those lurid imaginings came forward. The dreams that had chased Tav into an uneasy sleep for months: his touch smoothing over her hips. His mouth on her breasts. Touching, and teasing, and…
“Enough.” She swallowed, head spinning. “You’ve made your point.”
“Swear you are mine, devote yourself to me, and I will give all your imaginings form. What is one mortal life compared to pleasure eternal?” He held out his hand again.
And Tav took it.

[ Ellis POV ]
— What is happiness?
The moment I burned that image into my eyes, it changed like the colours of the sky at twilight.
Even though it left a deep impression in my heart that would stay forever, I can never get the exact same feeling ever again.
Time, stop.
So that this happiness will never fade.

I tidied myself up in front of the mirror and gave myself another encouraging pep talk.
(It honestly scares me to think I’ll have to watch them “sin” again, but…)
(So far, I’ve had my fair share of harsh situations; from handling customer complaints at the post office, to making deliveries at extremely chaotic scenes of carnage.)
(Everything will be fine. I get through this, one way or another.)
Kate: Only for one month. You can do this, Kate. You’ve got this. … Alright.
Saying words of encouragement to myself as though I were chanting a scripture, I opened my room door and took an enthusiastic step into the hallway—
???: Whoa.
Kate: Kyaa!?
The tip of my nose bumped into the chest of someone who was standing in front of my room.
Kate: I-I’m so sorry…!
Ellis: I’m sorry too. … Are you hurt?
(Ah… this man is—)
– Flashback Start –
Last night, I found out about the Queen’s secret group of assassins “Crown”.
Harrison: … Now that she’s known way too much, what do you intend to do with her, Victor?
Victor: Hmm. Let me think…
Ellis: Do we kill her?
(Wha—?)
Ellis: She doesn't look happy at all, but I’ll do it if it’s for work.
– Flashback End –
(He was the first person to suggest killing me.)
(But, after that…)
– Flashback Start –
Ellis: I’m Ellis.
Kate: Nice to meet you… Ellis.
Ellis: Mm… nice to meet you too. I often go out of town with Jude to attend to some business, but I’ll make you as happy as possible while I’m here.
– Flashback End –
(Why is Ellis standing in front of my bedroom…?)
(Oh, right. My surveillance has started.)
A single wrong move could cost me my life.
Memories of the amount of fear I felt the night before flashed into my mind, causing me to straighten my back sharply.
(I can’t keep my usual attitude.)
(This is a whole different world I’ve stepped into.)
Kate: Ellis, right? I look forward to working with you from today on.
Tumblr media
Ellis: Yeah, I’m Ellis Twilight. A pleasure to meet you too… also, there’s no need for you to be so tense.
Ellis gave a small chuckle and peered into my face with a concerned expression.
Ellis: … Your nose is red.
Ellis: Sorry for that. The door flew open right when I was about to knock, so I couldn’t dodge in time.
He leaned against the door with a long, slender arm.
Hidden behind his curly hair was a pair of eyes the colour of twilight — just like his name.
Surprised by the sudden lack of distance between us, I gasped and hastily apologised.
Kate: It's not your fault! It’s mine for getting too motivated and jumping out of my room…
Ellis: Motivated? What for?
Kate: Ehh!? Uhh…
(“I was giving myself a motivational boost because I was afraid of living together with the people here.”)
(I can’t say that to his face…)
Kate: It’s kind of like being transferred to a department I know nothing about… um…
Kate: HURRAH! Something like this…!
Tumblr media
Ellis: Hurrah…
Ellis blinked in surprise.
(That sounded too unnatural…)
Ellis: … You’re so cute.
Kate: Uhh… it’s fine, you didn't have to cover for me…
(I should be relieved he could find an excuse for me, but it’s still embarrassing…)
As my gaze wandered around my surroundings, searching for somewhere for me to go, Ellis’ face turned serious again and he whispered to me,
Ellis: I want to assign you your very first task in this “new department”... may I?
Kate: — Wow…
(What a beautiful garden.)
Ellis led me outside to the castle’s courtyard…
Before me was a large English garden that looked very carefully maintained.
The seasonal flowers were in full bloom, filling the air with a heavenly smell.
(Last night, this castle towering over me appeared solemn and dangerous, and yet…)
(It also has such a peaceful place in it.)
I followed behind Ellis along the path while admiring the beautiful garden, until we arrived at a gazebo.
Tea and scones were arranged on a table, it seemed like there was a tea party about to begin.
Ellis: Here.
Kate: Uh… t-thank you.
I was puzzled when Ellis pulled out a chair for me, but I took a seat as invited and he went to sit opposite me.
(He mentioned something about giving me a task just now…)
Kate: Is this where my first task will be?
Tumblr media
Ellis: Yup. … Your first task is to have breakfast together with me.
(... Huh?)
Ellis: Tell me about yourself while we enjoy the delicious food. I’ll tell you about myself too.
Ellis: If you write them down, it’ll count as a “Fairytale Keeper” report. Right?
Kate: I’d appreciate that, but… wouldn't that be too much of a bother to you?
Ellis: I don’t think so. Why do you ask?
He seemed to genuinely want to help me.
Ellis: I’ll tell you about the other members of Crown too.
Ellis: I know it must be terrifying to live with people who are complete strangers.
Kate: …!
(Could it be that my “first task”...)
Kate: Did you invite me here to soothe my nerves?
Ellis: … You’re partially right.
Kate: “Partially”?
Ellis: The other reason is that I want to chat with you. … So that’s where you’re partially wrong.
His lips lifted into a faint smile.
(Was the impression I formed of Ellis last night all a misunderstanding?)
Last night, I felt uneasy — like something was staring at me from the darkness, giving me the chills.
(I’m not getting that feeling from Ellis in front of me right now.)
(Perhaps last night’s uneasiness was only because I just witnessed a murder scene…)
I pushed those thoughts aside, deciding not to bother with them.
— Thinking back to it later on, I realised that was a mistake.
(Anyway, Ellis made the effort to make all these arrangements for me.)
(I should accept his offer and hear him out.)
Kate: Thank you, Ellis.
Ellis: I didn’t do anything to deserve your thanks.
Ellis: Do you like sweets? Victor baked these scones this morning.
Kate: Oh? Victor can cook…?
Ellis: Yup, it’s a hobby. Al is a good cook too.
Ellis: Al taught me to make clotted cream previously, so I made this myself.
Ellis: I bought this jam because Liam recommended it to me.
Ellis: As a stage actor, Liam always knows what’s popular.
Ellis: This meat pie is from the restaurant Roger took me to for lunch a while back. He treats me to meals often.
Kate: Whoa, slow down a little. I want to write all of that down…!
I took my little notebook out of my pocket and started jotting down the things Ellis told me about the members or Crown.
Kate: Oh, I know about that apricot crumble place too! It’s always busy with lots of customers.
Ellis: I bought it together with Harry. He may not look like it, but Harry has a sweet tooth and has an eye for good dessert places.
Kate: Fufu… the members of Crown seem very close.
(Even though they made me feel as though we were people from two very different worlds…)
(At the end of the day, they’re just human beings living in the same London as I am… and that feels somewhat reassuring to know.)
(This is all thanks to Ellis.)
Ellis: Kate.
Kate: Yes…?
With natural movements, Ellis reached his large palm towards my face—
Ellis: … You got cream in your hair.
Kate: Huh? Oh…
(I really did get cream in my hair. I didn't notice.)
Ellis gently tucked my hair behind my ear.
Kate: Thank you.
Ellis: You’re welcome. … Is the food so delicious that you got too absorbed in enjoying them?
Ellis rested his chin in his hand and gazed at me with a smile.
Kate: … Yes, it’s delicious.
Ellis: Glad to hear that.
(Being able to pull off this sort of thing so effortlessly… Ellis must be very popular with ladies.)
I suddenly became conscious of my heart beating faster and tried to calm my racing heart.
Kate: You put in a lot of effort into setting up this breakfast, and you’ve also been very concerned about my wellbeing so far…
Kate: Why are you being this kind towards me?
(I don’t remember doing anything worth receiving such kindness from Ellis for…)
Ellis: It’s because you’ve been looking unhappy since last night.
Ellis: I only want the people around me to be as happy as they can be.
(That’s all…?)
(But I’m merely a stranger to Ellis…)
Kate: Do you treat everyone the same way? Even complete strangers?
Tumblr media
Ellis: Huh…? Hmm… I don’t think so.
He seemed bewildered by my simple question.
(Ellis is indeed a rather strange person.)
(But…)
Kate: … This makes me happy.
(I definitely feel much more at ease now, thanks to Ellis.)
Ellis: I see… I'm glad you don't find it unpleasant.
— My feelings of wariness melted away by the end of our pleasant breakfast together.
Ellis: Are you a fan of theatre?
Kate: Yes. Actually, I volunteered to do an extra shift last night to earn some extra cash for tickets to a play…
Ellis: Fufu… you’re quite a passionate fan.
My conversation with Ellis went smoothly, like we’ve been close friends for a long time.
Just then, I heard another set of footsteps.
Victor: Hi! It’s looking lively out here!
Ellis: Victor.
Kate: …! Good morning.
Victor: Ah, no need to stand for me! I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation.
Victor: Ellis offered to help prepare breakfast this morning… did it make you feel better?
Victor gazed at me searchingly with a smile.
The air of mystery I sensed around him last night vanished, leaving only the feeling of warmth from his eyes resembling gemstones.
(My “first task” from Ellis must’ve really helped soothe my nerves.)
Kate: Yes. It’s all thanks to Ellis and the delicious scones you baked.
Tumblr media
Victor: …
Victor looked slightly surprised when I thanked him with a smile, but his expression quickly switched into a bright smile.
Victor: Your relaxed smile is basically saying “I’m so happy to be Crown’s exclusive fairytale keeper”!
Ellis: … She never said that.
Kate: … Fufu.
My shoulders shook a little as I giggled at their exchange. Victor’s eyes narrowed.
Victor: Now, there are two things I ask of you, our fairytale keeper. One is to keep our secret, and the other is to record our sins.
Victor: The first task is very straightforward and I see no problem with it; but I don't wish for you to be confused by the second task, so I’d like to guide you a little.
Victor: May I give you a brief explanation of the task?
Kate: Yes, please.
Victor: It’s not a difficult job, actually. All you have to do is to observe the members and record what you think is a sin.
Victor: I leave it up to you to decide how you’d like to do it.
Victor: You can rotate amongst them and observe multiple members, or you can focus on just one member and accompany him in his activities.
(Observe the members of Crown, and the method is entirely up to me… I see.)
Kate: Understood. … Um, may I also know to what extent I’m being watched?
Victor: Even though we say we’re keeping you under surveillance, we don't wish to restrict your freedom. Except going outside alone, you’re free to do as you wish.
Victor: You may be asked to follow us on missions sometimes, but your free time is yours to spend freely.
I nodded, relieved to know that I wasn’t being watched as strictly as I had expected.
Kate: Understood. Thank you for the clarification.
Victor: … To be honest, I was surprised to see you smile just now. I never expected to see your smile so soon.
Victor: We’re an organisation that commits terrible deeds and we had you witness a horrifying scene last night, so I thought you wouldn't exactly feel “at ease”.
Victor gave me a cheeky wink.
He then squinted his eyes like he was looking at the sun.
Victor: I hope that the darkness you’ll be subjected to against your will from now on, will never steal your smile.
Strangely, because of the tone of his words, I couldn't dismiss them as a lie.
(There’s no denying that the members of Crown are scary people who kill without hesitation and dwell in the shadows.)
However— at the bottom of my heart, I had a feeling that I’d understand them better if I just looked closely enough.
Victor: Well then, I shall take my leave. Being the Queen’s Aide is quite busy.
It seemed that Victor was only there to check on me, and so he left the garden without joining us at the table.
(I have to closely observe the members of Crown if I want to record their sins, right?)
If that’s the case— I think my best option would be to start with getting to know Ellis.
That thought came to me almost naturally.
Kate: Um, Ellis… what are your plans for today?
However, I was interrupted by someone’s voice.
Jude: What are you doing, slacking off when you have work to do? I’ll punch you.
Tumblr media
Ellis • Kate: !
The deep voice startled me, making me jump.
(This voice—)
I timidly turned around to see Jude standing there with his arms crossed and looking clearly ticked off.
(H-He’s furious…!)
Tumblr media
Ellis: Sorry, I’ll go right away.
Ellis shot Jude a casual glance and responded without even leaving his seat.
(He’s so relaxed about it…)
Jude clicked his tongue and strode out of the garden with a flip of his jacket.
Ellis: … There you have it. My plans for today.
(Jude is the president of the trading company Ellis works at as his assistant… right.)
(I intended to observe Ellis today, but I guess I’d be better off postponing that plan.)
Kate: Thank you for taking time off your work for me. Good luck at work.
Tumblr media
Ellis: ...
Ellis stared at me in silence, pondering about something—
Kate: Uhh?
Ellis: If it's okay with you, do you want to come along?

Hey I just wanted to thank you for writing and sharing your ideas with the world. There’s a long list of reasons why you and your work are so great, most of which people have already voiced better than I ever could at this point. However, for me personally, it’s literally changed the entire direction of my life.
I was really close to calling a quits on art as a whole when I initially stumbled across your work because I thought I’d hit my limit and the thief of comparison had turned everything stale. Then I started reading fanfic again as a last ditch effort to shake the dirt off my wings, and Sleuth Jesters might as well have been the universe strapping me down to the top of a car and running me through a wash. It inspired me so much I was literally up at night day dreaming what the next chapter would be about. Then it ended and still radiated like sun baked concrete. Nothing had come close in a long time, and I was ready to accept that once the heat faded I’d probably just have to call it- a truely breathtaking last hurrah for my dying hobby.
Then you just… kept going! Everything was better than the last, and while not everything threatened to turn me into a freshly microwaved hot pocket the worlds were diverse, well thought out, and immersive enough to inspire drawing in ways I’d just never bothered trying before because I’d just never had a reason. The images, angels, poses, scenery- never manifested for me till you wrote them down in ways that painted pictures on the back of my eyelids and lingered like hauntings.
So thank you! I appreciate having my hobby back, and I owe all the improvements I’ve made over the last year or so to you, because I would’ve thrown in the towel otherwise.
Also sorry if this is a repeat? I’m getting a sense of déjà vu but I’m like, 85% sure this is the first time I’ve at least hit send!
Tumblr media
You have no idea how much this means to me. I know that feeling of wanting to give up on a hobby because of comparing it to others or not feeling good enough and like no one cares what you've worked on, but I'm really glad you didn't give it up. I'm also really happy that my works could inspire and do some good. I really want my work to be a comfort and to do something nice for someone else, and reading this really makes my heart soar. I feel like my work matters because of beautiful comments like these and I will always appreciate them. Thank you so much, babe <3

My God Longs For Me - Part 1.2
Written for an anon prompt, which can be read in its entirety on this fic’s masterpost.
Pairing: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson Rating: T (E for later chapters) Summary: When Steve was a child, he was abducted and brought to the cult, the Hellfire Club, as he was prophesied to be the wife of the dark forest god they worshiped. Steve enjoyed his time there, especially the time he spent with the cult leader's nephew, Eddie. This wasn't meant to last however as Steve was eventually returned to his parents. Thanks to the deprogrammer that his parents hired and time, Steve has mostly forgotten the cult that raised him. That is until he goes on a camping trip and his friends start to get murdered one by one with the only connection between the killings being the ritual offerings to the cult's gods and the strange dreams Steve has before each one. Now Steve must piece together his past to discover who is murdering his friends in the present. (Inspired heavily by various horror movies and is a horror story itself.) Trigger Warning: F-Slur Usage Eventual Trigger Warning: Dead Dove: Do Not Eat, Ritual Sacrifices, Gore, Mpreg, Body Horror, Monster Fucking, Feminization, Brainwashing
(Link to previous part)
Which was how Steve found himself here, driving with his so-called “friends” deep into the middle of nowhere. To be honest, the last thing Steve wanted to do was be stuck anywhere with these assholes, but his dad had heard about the plans from Tommy, and insisted that Steve go. His dad said that it would be good to have one last hurrah before Steve had to settle into the company and didn’t have any time left for fun, leaving no room for argument while cementing that this trip was Steve’s last bit of freedom before his dad was looking over shoulder full-time.
They’d been on the road most of the day, and the sun was starting to set. If they had taken anyone else’s car, Steve would’ve pulled over to the side of the road to let maybe Billy or Jason drive, but no, they had insisted on taking Steve’s car since his was the better among the five of them. Steve had a rule, though. No one drove his baby except him, and given that was the only way they could get Steve to bring his car, they’d agreed. So, instead of switching drivers, Steve turned into the parking lot of a dingy looking, bricked motel, where he could rest before making the last leg of their journey then pulled into a space in front of the main office.
Everyone scrambled out of the car, all wanting to pee or raid the vending machine, leaving Steve by himself to book the motel rooms. He sighed, while running a hand over his exasperated face, frustrated with their lack of responsibility. Though, on second thought, it was for the best since the others could be real dicks when they wanted to be, which could get them kicked out and start their camping trip earlier than intended on the side of the road.
Steve walked through the glass door into the main office, causing a bell to ring overhead. The sound caught the attention of the woman at the front desk, who turned towards Steve as he approached. She looked just as rundown as the motel with her straggly blonde hair matching the yellowed tiles and wallpaper perfectly. Her faded pink dress stood out against the outline of the rusted keys that lined the walls under barely legible plates with the room numbers on them. Pale fingers curled around a black pen, preparing to book Steve into the system.
“How many rooms?” she asked in a nasally voice that grated on Steve’s ears.
“One double room,” Steve replied.
The five of them weren’t strangers to sharing a room like this as they’d all been on sports teams together since high school and knew how to bunk up during away games. For the odd man out, they’d probably draw straws to see who slept in the car. He honestly didn’t think there’d be a problem until he noticed that the woman was eyeing him suspiciously.
With a furrowed brow, he asked, “Is something wrong?”
“There’s five of you.”
“Yeah, one of us plans to sleep in the car.”
“There’s only two beds.”
“Okay...?”
“You boys aren’t faggots, are you? Because I refuse to let that type stay at my establishment. If you’re looking for a place to fuck, you can look elsewhere.”
“We’re not-” Steve gaped at her, at a loss for words. “None of us- We’re straight.”
“Then why are you only booking one room?” she asked, her voice dripping with venomously disgust. “Only faggots would book one room for five people.”
Rubbing his forehead, he replied, “Fine, we’ll take two double rooms. The fifth person will sleep in the car. Happy?”
The woman nodded and took down Steve’s information in the guest book before she retrieved the room keys from behind her. She was still staring at him with slight suspicion as Steve took them, but he ignored her. It wasn’t as if her opinion mattered since he didn’t plan on seeing her again after this as they were only staying the night.
With the keys acquired, Steve left the main office. Tommy and Billy weren’t around while Andy was messing around with the vending machine. That left only Jason waiting by the car, leaning against it as he snacked on a bag of generic brand potato chips. He looked up when Steve neared, giving him a small nod of greeting.
“Get the rooms?” Jason asked.
Steve held up the keys. “Yep.”
“Great, so who’s rooming with who?”
“You guys decide. I think I’m just going to sleep in the car.”
“You sure? It’s not like we haven’t doubled up before.”
“Yeah, it’s fine,” Steve said, while glancing over his shoulder a little. “I think I just want to make sure nothing happens to my baby in the middle of the night.”
Jason shrugged. “Suit yourself, I guess.” He then took the keys from Steve then wandered over to the vending machines to start talking to Andy, probably explaining the situation with the rooms. That only left Billy and Tommy unaccounted for, and who knew what kind of shit the two of them could get up to if they were left alone for too long. If he remembered correctly, they said they needed to take a piss, so he guessed they’d probably be in the woods since from what Steve could tell there weren’t any public bathrooms around.
At least, Steve hadn’t thought there were until he realized that there was a bar across the street. He didn’t remember it as they were pulling in as he was certain that he would’ve seen the bright, neon sign overhead declaring that the place was called “The Hideout.” Though, he chalked that up to him being more tired than he thought, making him glad that they’d found the motel when they did if his mind was that hazy.
Steve started to walk across the street towards the bar. He figured if Tommy and Billy would be anywhere then it’d be there. They’d probably pee then grab a few rounds before staggering back to the motel without even knowing their room numbers. It was like Steve was surrounded by children, and he seriously couldn’t wait for this damn camping trip to be over.
