So this is a fun one, this green ink illustration of poison hemlock, is itself, quite possibly deadly.

From the 1770s and up through the 1860s inks, paints, wallpapers and fabric contained arsenic, and though bans began in the 1830s and 40s, the practiced continued through the 1860s. So there is still a good chance these images are contaminated. ☠

Most commonly, the green book bindings of that era also contained arsenic.

The choice paralysis has got me cause I abandoned this work back in May'23, couldn't decide if I wanted to stitch the original pattern or my edited one & abandoned it till November'23. Finished it on November 6th in just two evenings (5th and 6th).

The pattern is by thewitchystitcher, the editing of the pattern is by me.

3 pieces of strands of CXC thread (the black one is PNK, a local brand whose threat is thinner than CXC, so I had to go with 3 strands on everything for balance). Hand dyed 27ct Linda.

Washes the project and it's up the wall now. Hopefully to hoop (frame) it in the future.
