She was asleep, his Wise Girl, with a mess of curls spread out like a halo around her head and a couple in her mouth, but he still smiled through his own turmoil and sleep when he saw her.  Because in the dream that had woken him, she wasn’t there and he had felt so lost – and yet here she was.  Their bed, their fight, their apartment, their life – as long as she was there, he could relax because he was at home.

There was something beautiful about snow, and Sally had always thought it was the one part of Christmas she would keep even though it wasn’t theirs. Spying Jack, a slow smile spread across her face and she slipped across the sparkling white surface, filling her hands as she went. When he turned, she dumped the armful of snow onto him from her perch on the porch with a bright laugh, “Now you’re a snow king.”

You didn’t have to ask someone on a date to go on a date with them, she’d decided - it took too many words and too many opportunities to go off on a tangent about something completely irrelevant. You could just happen to be in the same place at the same time as them, accidentally on purpose, and offer them a drink. She turned to the woman and smiled, “I have it on very good authority that my collarbones are great for licking salt off of.”

Pierce/Jack, rivalry

There was no big moment nor was he jilted, but Oogie had known power and had felt joy of people fearing him for too long to bow down to any king let alone a pumpkin one. Pierce wanted what he had and Jack simply was in the way just as his mentor was way back when, and just as Pierce had done to his mentor he meant to do to Jack; though Pierce wouldn’t let Jack’s death be as peaceful as the old man’s. First he would make Jack watch as he destroyed everything Jack cared for and when the time finally comes Pierce will offer Jack an irresistible deal.

“You left him, y-you killed him,” Nikos mumbled his left eye twitching as his brain was trying to understand as he stared down Hades.It wasn’t a new feeling, but it was one that was never vocalized for fear of the pain it would bring down on him and his brother. Still, as the portal closed leaving Po trapped on the other side anger was all that Nikos felt as his fists clenched tight enough that little droplets of blood ran down his fingers on to the ground; painting a trail as he approached his once feared boss.
