Maia could barely contain her excitement as moved quickly through the theatre toward the front doors. Cornelius had appeared, as if from nowhere, after one of her shows.  Their reunion, in some ways, was so much like the first time they met, and she’d spent the days recounting both.  After, what felt like years, mourning the loss of her prince, he was here once more. 

They’d planned to have a night out together, and it was all she had been thinking about all day.  She opened the door to exit, knowing already he’d be out there waiting for her.  

“I’m sorry if you’ve been waiting long,” she said when she spotted him,” Mama had some things she wanted me to finish.”  As he came close she reached up to hug him tightly.  She couldn’t even express the joy she felt having found him again, and babbling half apologies for keeping him seemed to be filling in for the words she really wanted to say.

Kroasia menundukkan Denmark dalam duel matchday 3 Grup 1 UEFA Nations League A 2022/23, Sabtu (11/6/2022). Bermain di Parken Stadium, Kroasia menang tipis dengan skor 1-0.

Kroasia tampak mencoba memanfaatkan kedua sisi sayap untuk menggempur tim lawan. Denmark lebih banyak tertekan, tapi masih bisa bertahan dan menghentikan gempuran lawan.

45 menit babak pertama berjalan hampir tanpa serangan besar. Kroasia lebih abnyak menguasai bola, tapi tampak kesulitan membongkar pertahanan Denmark.

Babak kedua, Kroasia meningkatkan tempo serangan dengan sejumlah pergantian pemain, Luka Modric masuk. Namun, justru Denmark yang menemukan celah lewat serangan balik.

Denmark mulai main lebih baik di babak kedua, tapi Kroasia terus meningkatkan tempo sejak melakukan pergantian pemain. Hingga menit ke-60, Kroasia lebih banyak menekan.

Menit ke-69, Kroasia mencetak gol penentu. Bermula dari skema tendangan sudut, Pasalic mendapatkan bola liar untuk menembak dari jarak dekat. Gol! Denmark 0-1 Kroasia.

Tidak ada gol tambahan di sisa laga. Denmark mencoba melawan, tapi Kroasia mengontrol pertandingan dengan baik. skor 1-0 untuk kemenangan Kroasia.

🐩 - Discovering their pet/favorite animal

Cor and Buzzby didn't hit it off immediately. In fact, the bumble wouldn't let anyone come near him at first, least of all a faerie prince. His hive had been destroyed by a badger, and that was how Cor first discovered him, in the wreckage of what used to be his home. He went to the meadow a few days a week from then on and mostly just sat quietly or practiced his footwork while he waited for the bee to get used to his presence. It took patience, and Cornelius had that in spades. When the badger returned unexpectedly, it was Cor who got into a spot of trouble with it. Buzzby distracted it at a critical moment, and Cor hopped on his back so they could escape. They were best friends after that, and Buzzby was always the lead partner in crime in all of Cor's adventures from then on--much to Queen Tabitha's dismay. No matter what she said, he could not see the argument for riding white butterflies.

In which Cornelius wakes up alone in the hospital and teaches half the children’s ward to fence (600 words)

Cornelius remembered everything that had happened before the darkness swept in: he remembered looking for Thumbelina, and he remembered being trapped beneath the ice. It was everything after that was cause for confusion. What struck him most about this strange new world was not that he was suddenly the same size as everything else (interesting), nor that he could apparently no longer do magic (unfortunate) or that his wings were gone (devastating), but how alone he was in it. Surely, if his family or any of the faerie kingdom had come through with him, he would not have been alone in a hospital for months on end. It was a sad sort of existence, but Cor was not one to dwell on sadness. Wherever his family was, he hoped they were safe, but his mission had not changed: find Thumbelina and rescue her.

But first, apparently, he had to get well. It was not long after Cor was mobile again that he'd taken to wandering the corridors of the hospital, chatting with nurses and making friends with the other patients. He was never one to be confined to a bed when there were adventures to be had, and it was the best way he knew of learning about this place. Nearly everyone in it was a fairytale creature like himself. He never tired of hearing about their worlds, and he never stopped looking for information about Thumbelina, though he had little to go on now. Nobody had heard of a girl who used to be three inches high.

He had always allowed chance to lead him, and today chance led him into the children's ward of the hospital. It was a tragic place in spite of the cheery paper decorations pinned to boards on the walls, and he quickly decided to take matters into his own hands by giving fencing lessons. He'd procured a number of odd-looking instruments from a cart (nothing breakable--he hoped) and lined them up to practice a few basic moves. "Advance," he instructed, strolling up and down the rows of children holding pipettes, cardboard tubes, and queen square reflex hammers. "Retreat. Lunge. Good form!" He grinned. Cor was a natural leader, and he had a sunny nature and an easy integrity that children seemed to intuit. Or possibly he was just an overgrown child himself.

"Ready for battle, troops?" Perhaps he was mixing his metaphors a bit; in any case, he'd never led a troop in his life, but he was in the moment. Half the ward wore bandages around their heads to indicate their team. Those who weren't well enough waved homemade flags from the beds. He'd clearly put a lot of effort into this. "En garde. Prêts. Allez!" It was instant pandemonium. Cor was right there in the middle of everything, parrying blows from three or four kids at once with quite a lot of cheering and laughter. He did not realize just how much noise they were making until a team of nurses stormed in.

"You could have had someone's eye out!" His favorite nurse scolded him as she confiscated his makeshift foil. She was his favorite because she was no-nonsense and gave every impression of not liking him, but he knew deep down that she did. Still, after a cheery wave over one shoulder, he did his best to look contrite as he allowed her to lead him from the room. "Perhaps we should try dancing next time?" he offered meekly. She merely grunted a response, but he could swear he saw her lips twitch like she was trying not to smile.
