hi. everyone think about post-zoraxis fabbylaris with me okay? women when they have had the life nearly crushed out of them by their former employer, but now they have each other to help pick up all the pieces? women when they accommodate for each other, have each other's backs? when they have seen each other at their lowest moments and stay, despite everything? women when they're so deeply in love with each other? do you see my vision?

okay spontaneous and likely inaccurate memory here but. doesn't fabby say she's going out for dinner reservations in the beginning of eaves drop? with who? solaris? fabbylaris date night? imagine going out and finding out someone broke into your office while you were having food with your science wife

my favorite thing to consider in regards to fabbylaris is like. the stewing period before either of them fully know/are committed to the fact that it's yuri. the yuri stewing period.

in my heart of hearts, fabby fell first, and she hated it. it didn't happen right away, but to this day she struggles to understand exactly when the hatred left and when the weird hate-crush thing started festering in its place. solaris was the antithesis to everything she strived to be.

where she was coy and conniving, solaris was blunt and direct. where she was fiendishly machiavellian, solaris was taking the path of least resistance (usually cleaving her way forward with the closest blunt implement).

... where she needed to hold her tongue, manage her public image, fawn at those in authority to keep herself safe, solaris was baring her teeth, speaking her mind, fearless and determined, knowing her worth.

i think a lot of fabby's earlier years (because it probably was years) of coping with solaris boiled down to battling with the part of her persona dedicated to considering herself as above solaris. technically, she was her subordinate. she couldn't design a well disguised trap for the life of her. the fabricator was better than her. the fabricator deserved better than her.

but internally she knew that wasn't true. she's not stupid- she knows solaris is a genius, in her own strange, blunt, dangerous little way. she knows that solaris is the only engineer at zoraxis who could rival her own inventing prowess. and she knows that, in a lot of ways that don't have to do with design or conception, solaris is way better than her at her job.

in a lot of ways, solaris embodies what the fabricator wishes she was. solaris has a lot of freedoms that she doesn't- being so close to zor, and with her public facing business eating all of her time that zoraxis doesn't take up. she would never admit it if anyone asked her directly, but she has a huge admiration for her work ethic and ability...

and then after she came to that realization she was able to put aside her persona and remember that butches are hot as fuck and then something yuri happened i think
