I was so proud when man u got promoted and then can't believe myself when they brought in tobin heath and christen press, I do not like uswnt except for tobin , she is my favourite player to watch and for me personally she is very underrated and far ahead of everyone in her time in skills except marta. And you can say anything about uswnt but they were a winning machine and I was hoping that the english girls present in the man u that time would learn a lot from them. They were a joy to watch during the few months with tobin being one of the best and man u playing like a team on mission. Wish casey stoney comes back one day and man u against get back the form they had in the few months tobin was there with them .
i was actually pissed, man u being placed right in the championship just because they are man u pissed me off. they should have had to start from the bottom of the pyramid and work up, a punishment for not being with it. the same goes to city when they pushed doncaster out of the wsl. iconic women's footie teams have been lost because the big clubs deserve respect which will always piss me the fuck off but that's not man u's fault, that's the fa for letting it happen
i don't think the problem is the manager. i think it's the whole system. the owners need to start respecting women. until then nothing will change

The footballbro Win Stupid Prizes of the Year Awards 20/21
The “Are you getting deja vu” Award
This goes to Sam Kerr and Grace Moloney who very almost recreated the iconic welcome to the WSL tackle from last season. We were all thinking it as it happened
The “Duck Duck Goose” Award
This award is given to the geese who decided to invade the pitch at Crawley when Brighton played United, honestly it was probably the most interesting thing on the pitch that day.
The “Manager Participation” Award
This goes to Carla Ward who ran onto the pitch and joined the pile on after the 94th minute equaliser against Aston Villa. Can’t blame her at all for this. Just hope that her back’s ok.
The WWE Award
This is awarded to whatever’s going on with the rivalry between Katie McCabe and Erin Cuthbert. Some may call it overly physical, I just call it great entertainment.
The “Carla Ward Doesn’t Deserve This Shit” Award
This award is awarded to Birmingham City, or rather the board. Need I really explain why. Between injuries, fines, COVID, low budget it’s amazing how well the team’s done.
The “I Don’t Know What I’m Saying” Award
This is awarded to the FA Player commentators. Some of them are OK. Most of them are not. There are countless times when a player apparently passes to themselves or need we forget the infamous “Ona Badger”. And don’t forget about Williamson in goal. And don’t get me started on JP’s useless facts
The “Unexpected Legend” Award
This is awarded to the mighty No Input Signal who made appearances in a few games at St Georges Park and even got an assist of England against Northern Ireland.
The “Man of the Match Performance” Award
This goes to whoever was wiping the rain off the camera during the Arsenal home game against West Ham. Every time the image got blurry this hand (of god) would clear off all the water.
The “Logic Says No” Award
This goes to the game between Arsenal and Chelsea which ended 1-1 despite Chelsea not having a shot on target. Yes I know it was an own goal, but it definitely reads as a lot of WTF.
The “Welcome to the WSL” Award
This year this award goes to Christen Press who managed to get a yellow card after being on the pitch only a few minutes. Even if it wasn’t her first game it would have been impressive. She seemed remarkably calm with the whole thing as well.

Willie Kirk
The former United assistant manager and current Everton boss, Willie Kirk could be an ideal fit to replace Stoney at Leigh Sports Village.
Kirk guided the Toffees to a fifth-place finish in the WSL last season, as well as the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The 43-year-old was Stoney’s first assistant manager at United, before leaving the role for the Everton job.
The Toffees aren’t the only WSL experience he has as a manager. Between 2015 and 2018 the Scotsman was at the helm of Bristol City.
Martin Ho
From a former assistant manager to the current one, Martin Ho was brought into the United set up by Stoney ahead of the last WSL campaign.
Ho was a member of the U21 women’s coaching staff before being promoted to the senior team. His work with Stoney last season could put him in good stead for the manager’s job due to the familiarity of how the club works and the squad too.
He also has experience working with Liverpool’s U21s women team and both Everton’s U21 and senior women’s teams.
Hope Powell
An iconic figure in English women’s football. Former Lionesses’ and current Brighton & Hove Albion boss Hope Powell could be an outsider for the job.
Now 54, she has been in charge of the Seagulls since 2017 and guided them to a sixth-place finish last season in the WSL.
Her experience as a player and manager could be exactly what United need to develop into a Champions League side.
Neil Ryan
Is it time to copy Manchester City’s approach and bring through a member of the men’s youth ranks to take charge of the women’s team? If so, Neil Ryan could be the answer.
Ryan, who has been part of United’s youth set up for 14 years, would be a wildcard option.
Kelly Chambers
Another surprise name that could be an option for United is Kelly Chambers. The Reading manager has been in charge of the Royals since 2015.
A former player at the club, once she hung up her boots in 2012 due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Chambers took the role as Reading manager after Jayne Ludlow left the club to take the Wales job.
Since then Chambers guided the Royals from the second division to the WSL and kept them in the top-flight.

West Ham United have today announced their new women’s state-of-the-art training base at the Academy of Football, the club’s iconic Chadwell Heath training ground.
Last year’s redevelopment project at Chadwell Heath highlighted the Club’s continued commitment to providing an environment of excellence for the current and future generations of players, with the women’s team also now benefitting highly from the newly refurbished environment.
As the women’s team begins preparations for the 2020/21 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season this week, the squad will now have access to over 4,000 square feet of state of art facilities, including full-size indoor pitch, innovatory medical, fitness, analysis and education facilities, along with a viewing gallery with panoramic views of the indoor pitch.
The facility, now amongst the most modern and advanced in the women’s top division, was redeveloped as part of the Board’s wider strategy around the growth and development of the Club at all levels, including a £22m investment on infrastructure.
Managing Director Jack Sullivan said: “The relocation of our women’s training facility to the redeveloped Chadwell Heath, the historic home of West Ham United, is a fantastic show of our Club’s commitment to providing a platform of excellence for our women’s team to grow, develop and excel. With this new training base, we want the players to enjoy their work environment and treat it as a home away from home.
“It has always been a long-term goal to have a dedicated, purpose-built West Ham United women’s training facility and I am thrilled that we have now achieved this. These uniquely crafted facilities, alongside the already excellent resources available at Chadwell Heath, will hopefully help our women’s team to continue to progress and strive to reach the next level, as we head into our third season as a professional team in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.”
Head coach Matt Beard said: “It is a great pleasure to begin work ahead of the new Barclays FA WSL season at our new base at Chadwell Heath.
“The significance of this move is not lost on any member of our team. It is a privilege to work at the same location that bought West Ham some of the most iconic names in football, including the legendary Bobby Moore, Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, and more recently Mark Noble and Declan Rice.
“Our ambition now is to honour the legacy of Chadwell Heath with our hard work, attitude and ability as we seek to write the beginning of our own history here.
Captain Gilly Flaherty said; “It has been a privilege to be a part of West Ham United women’s journey as a professional team since the first day of our first season in the Barclays FA WSL, and to have the opportunity to work at Chadwell Heath is the next huge step in our progression.
“The facilities built and developed at our new base at the Club’s historic home have all been implemented with player development and welfare at the forefront of the priority list, and I can speak for every member of our squad when I say we are excited to begin work for the new campaign in our new base.”

Can Chelsea banish semi-final memories?
Man Utd v Chelsea (19:30 GMT)
Chelsea were beaten semi-finalists in last year’s FA Cup, the Champions League and the Continental League Cup.
Their Sweden defender Magdalena Eriksson also reached 2019’s World Cup semi-finals, where her country were narrowly beaten by the Netherlands after extra time.
“We talk about winning trophies and titles at this club all the time,” she told BBC Sport. “If a title is up for grabs, we want to get it. It’s really important for us.
“Chelsea has never been to the final in the Continental Cup so that’s been an extra motivation for us this year as well, to get as far as we can.
“I lost in four big semi-finals last season so on a personal note that is my biggest motivation.”

“It’s a young team with hungry players who want to prove themselves, so it’s going to be a tough challenge for us but I’m still confident.”

4 dream landing spots for Sam Kerr, and 1 that makes the most sense
Sam Kerr is likely headed to Europe, and she has a massive decision to make. Here are her options.
Superstar striker Sam Kerr has informed the Chicago Red Stars that she won’t return next season, and the Australian FA doesn’t expect its biggest star to play domestically in W-League, either. Kerr appears destined to ply her trade in Europe to test herself in a different competitive environment, make a bit more money and give herself a more stable lifestyle.
Kerr says the prospect of playing in a single league year-round, rather than jumping back and forth between two leagues, has been one of the deciding factors. needs the mental break as much as the physical one. #Matildas
— Samantha Lewis (@battledinosaur) November 8, 2019
No one knows how much Kerr makes from the Red Stars, her Australian team Perth Glory and her sponsors in total. But Kerr’s biggest sponsor, Nike, will likely pay her quite a bit more if she suits up for one of the big European clubs that it makes kits for.
Kerr, who has repeatedly been shunned for FIFA awards, may also feel like she needs to move to Europe to be recognized as one of the world’s top players. United States women’s national team players have been able to challenge for world soccer’s biggest awards in years they’ve won the World Cup, but FIFA voting is often Euro-centric, and the Ballon d’Or now only goes to players who compete in European club soccer. For Kerr to show she’s better than Olympique Lyonnais’ Ada Hegerberg and Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema, she’ll have to outduel them domestically or in the Champions League.
With that in mind, here are five places Kerr could end up, though one feels much more likely than the others.
Best chance to be the difference on a trophy-winning team: VfL Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg has not been reported as a potential destination for Kerr, but it’s the move that makes the most competitive sense. Die Wölfinnen are flying on top of the Frauen-Bundesliga and find themselves on the easier half of the UEFA Champions League draw, with FC Glasgow, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. Featuring Germany goalkeeper Almuth Schult and Danish superstar attacker Pernille Harder, they have historically given six-time UEFA Champions League winners Lyon their stiffest challenge.
Current starting striker Ewa Pajor is an excellent player, but not quite on Kerr’s level. The addition of Kerr could be the move that takes Wolfsburg from being a good team to becoming potential Lyon-beaters.
Nike is Wolfsburg’s kit manufacturer, which makes this move plausible. But Nike would probably prefer if Kerr suited up for a club with a bigger global brand, and Wolfsburg would likely offer a lower salary than the other clubs on this list.
Best chance to score 500 goals and win the Ballon d’Or: PSG
What better way to prove you’re better than Hegerberg than going at her head-on? A move to PSG would pit Kerr against Lyon multiple times a year. The French league is also weak after its top four teams, and Kerr could easily rack up enormous goal-scoring numbers to bolster her awards case.
PSG’s not a bad place to be from a competitive perspective, either. She might not have a player of Harder’s quality to combine with in Paris, but PSG has a deeper roster than Wolfsburg.
Nike has a lot invested in PSG with Neymar suiting up for the men’s side, so it’s a natural fit from a marketing perspective, too.
Best chance to take on a project and become an icon: Real Madrid
Real Madrid technically does not exist yet. The Spanish giant bought previously independent women’s team CD Tacon and is currently operating the club, which is expected to be rebranded as Real Madrid next season.
It’s possible that Real Madrid never commits to building a great women’s team, but it looks like the Galacticas are on their way. Madrid would be a fascinating project for Kerr, who could be the star that builds what becomes the biggest brand in women’s soccer.
There’s just one problem: Real Madrid is an Adidas team. But Los Blancos have essentially unlimited money, and could pay Kerr twice what Lyon pays Hegerberg and not even notice where the cash went. The only question is whether they want to.
Why is no one taking about: FC Barcelona
I’ve read zero speculation linking Kerr to Barca, but the Blaugrana tick every single box.
Good enough to make the Champions League final.
Have a spot available for a superstar striker
Men’s club has almost unlimited money
Nike is their kit manufacturer.
Barca’s current striker rotation features a cast of world class players who have spent most of their careers as attacking midfielders or wingers. Jenni Hermoso and Asisat Oshoala might be even more successful as Kerr’s providers than as finishers. Those two, along with Caroline Hansen, previous Ballon d’Or winner Lieke Martens and Kerr could make Barcelona’s attack just as formidable as Lyon’s.
If she’s a company woman: Chelsea
I’m not sure that Chelsea is the best club for Kerr from any single perspective. They’re not in the Champions League, and they haven’t historically paid the type of wages that Lyon, PSG and Wolfsburg do. They lagged behind domestic competitors Manchester City and Arsenal last season.
But the men’s Premier League generates significantly more revenue than any other soccer league, and brands like Nike probably see English clubs as their biggest business opportunities in women’s soccer. City is sponsored by Puma and Arsenal is sponsored by Adidas, which leaves Chelsea as Kerr’s natural English destination.
While Kerr won’t get a chance to win the Champions League this season if she signs for Chelsea, she would face better weekly competition in England than anywhere else on the European continent. The FA Women’s Super League, with its big money title sponsor and seriously-invested men’s clubs, could quickly become the best league in Europe. The Blues also currently sit at the top of the WSL, so she could guide them back to the Champions League for next season.
Still, Chelsea is a reach from a competitive standpoint. While any women’s club attached to a big men’s club is capable of spending enough money to build the best team in the world, we have no reason to believe Kerr can win the Champions League with Chelsea. She’d sign there because she was sold on a long-term project, because Nike offered her a lot more money to go there than anywhere else, or both.
Signing for Chelsea would be more of a business decision than a football decision. But women’s footballers are woefully underpaid, so who could blame her?

"I've said before" - Jurgen Klopp sends out strong message after PL is suspended
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent out a strong message after it was confirmed that the Premier League will be suspended, as quoted by the club’s official website.
What did he say?
The Premier League, FA, EFL and WSL have collectively decided to halt the professional game in England until 4th April, as has been confirmed on the Premier League website.
This has led to Klopp providing a statement, which included him saying: “I’ve said before that football always seems the most important of the least important things. Today, football and football matches really aren’t important at all.
“Of course, we don’t want to play in front of an empty stadium and we don’t want games or competitions suspended, but if doing so helps one individual stay healthy – just one – we do it no questions asked.
“If it’s a choice between football and the good of the wider society, it’s no contest. Really, it isn’t.”
Watch Liverpool Videos With StreamFootball.tv Below
Strong message
This is a strong message from the German, at a time that will have been incredibly frustrating for him, as well as his players and staff.
That stance comes after they lost their unbeaten run against Watford, before being knocked out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.
Considering these circumstances, Liverpool will have been keen to wrap up the league title as quickly as possible, with their lead currently standing at 25 points.
Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now…
However, this has put the brakes on that, but as Klopp mentions in his statement, the safety of everybody involved in the game is far more important than the football itself at this stage.
They will now be looking to ensure that they are healthy and in the best position possible to finish the league campaign strongly when play eventually presumes.
Meanwhile, one Liverpool man has been absolutely slated.

England Women’s star Ellen White reveals her life has gone ‘crazy’ since the World Cup
The summer of 2019 goes down like that when England started to stutter on glasses, and Ellen White started on exactly what scale to perform when she came home from the World Cup.
White did her weekly grocery store and picked up some fruit and vegetables when she was approached by a supporter who was clearly enchanted by the month in France . The middle-aged man brought his forefinger and thumb together and brought both hands to his eyes. That celebration. Fanboy on aisle three
& They ask, "Are you Ellen White?" which is very weird, and people are celebrating my party with me & # 39 ;, says White, sitting in her new home – the City Football Academy. Manchester City broke her out Birmingham City for the World Cup, where she finished England & # 39; s top scorer with six goals.
Ellen White had a man come to her in a shop and its celebration after the World Cup
It's all pretty crazy, says White. I have never had that before, except that they are crazy ladies football fans. But this time they were adult men. It's incredible and the first thing they all say is, "I really enjoyed the World Cup, we all supported you."
& # 39; Maybe we look back on it when we retreat. It's just wonderful that people watch, eat and want to talk. For me it is huge that they are fascinated by it. & # 39;
Fascinated is definitely the right word. England performed better until the 2015 World Championship in Canada and won the bronze medal competition, but this year it felt different. There is a movement going on in the ladies game and a desire to ride the wave of public involvement.
Terrestrial television helped immeasurably, the BBC peaked at 11.7 million for the crushing semi-final defeat of England by the United States. BT Sport has supported the Women & # 39; s Super League, but TV broadcasts without TV would certainly be a game changer for the night?
The star of Man City hopes that the ladies' game will start after England & # 39; s World Cup
White said: & # 39; We need tramps on chairs. We want to support more people and their local clubs there & # 39;
& # 39; Possibly, & # 39; says White. & # 39; The fact that people could literally just turn on the TV and watch so many games was really important. We want as many people as possible to watch the WSL.
& # 39; It is so important that we make it accessible to everyone, it has grown and grown since the WSL started in 2011. In the next three or four That can continue to happen for years.
& We have to keep on stopping things like people who know when the games are on. Bed on seats. r more people. We hope for that tribal aspect, that huge fan base, people who support their local clubs. & # 39;
City has sold more than 20,000 tickets for the WSL opener against Manchester United at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, setting their previous attendance record of 4,096. Across the board, the average number of people present has to increase 937 in the past year, otherwise the summer euphoria will be lost. White will miss the derby as she rehabilitates after knee surgery, but has her eyes on a debut next month.
White & # 39; s glasses celebration became a well-known theme on this summer cup
The England striker hit six times in the tournament, including a semi-final defeat
The game needs icons and White, 30, is undoubtedly there one of. The role model label still feels & # 39; weird & # 39; for her. Her home town, Aylesbury, went crazy with the exploits in France. Places of interest include the Roald Dahl Children & # 39; s Gallery and a statue of David Bowie to commemorate where he debuted with Ziggy Stardust. Now they are accompanied by a mural by Ellen White in the main street. Decent company to keep.
& # 39; It's okay, isn't it? & # 39; White sheepishly smiles. & # 39; They became mental. They changed the city sign at one point in Ellesbury. & # 39;
White is here in Manchester with one of her best friends, Captain Steph Houghton. White & # 39; s husband, FA sports development officer Callum Convery, received her England Women & # 39; s Player of the Year award in 2018 for being at Houghton & # 39; s hen in Edinburgh. He knew that he had won every day, but did not let it continue. But the recognition is that with extra expectation extra control comes. That was finally the difference between the World Cups in 2015 and 2019.
& # 39; In Canada we were of: "Oh wow, we've survived the last 16, the quarters," says White. "This time we believed we would win the World Cup. That was the most devastating thing in the US – we really believed we would beat them." We had never felt that before. & # 39;
The 30- year old revealed that England went to the World Cup in the belief that they could win it
White sat down to speak for Sportsmail's Jack Gaughan (L) at Manchester City Academy [1 9459003]
Meanwhile, the US side is continuing their fight for equal pay in the United States. White supports the Premier League's plan to take over the WSL from the FA – which would undoubtedly increase visibility and professionalism – but admits that England's elite players are lagging far behind politically.
& # 39; Their situation is very different US federation, & she says. & # 39; I hope they reach it.
& # 39; We are not there yet. I think it's really about income, bringing as many people to our WSL games. Come from the back of the World Cup and use that momentum.
& # 39; If we can maintain that for the next five or ten years, you never know what will happen. & # 39;
20,000 tickets have been sold for City & # 39; s WSL opener against Man United but White won & # 39; t fit
White's hopeful ladies game in England will continue to grow and attract the best players
For this, it requires a rising standard and White wants more foreign imports into the competition.
& # 39; Hopefully more teams will come soon and competitiveness will continue to increase & # 39 ;, she says. It is important that the best players in the world come here. If they are all in one place, it is the most competitive. Everyone fights for the top. & # 39;
Now it's about admiring new heroes every week, not just a summer.
& # 39; It just went crazy. I have received so many messages from children running around during that party. Adult adults too, just have a little fun, laugh. & # 39;
White breaks out in a grin. & # 39; Do you know when you think you probably shouldn't have started something? & # 39;

Women in football: A growing presence!
In recent times gender equality has been mentioned more and more within modern day society. Women in sport and especially women in football are becoming more prominent within modern times. You might be surprised to know women’s football in the early 20th century was more popular than men’s football. In 1920, the biggest crowd for a women’s game saw 53,000 spectators pack into Everton’s Goodison Park to watch Preston-based Dick Kerr’s Ladies beat St Helens Ladies 4-0. To this day, the men’s highest attendance record at Everton’s Goodison park is only 39,000. Despite women’s games being so popular in past time, the FA banned women’s football stating; “The game of football is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged." (www.thefa.com, 2017). How women’s sport and especially women’s football reached popular heights was witnessed back in the 1920’s. To this present day, some would say women’s football can match the excitement and social attraction of the men’s game regardless of their gender.
After the FA lifted the ban on women’s football, they then went on to create the Women’s FA in 1969. However, despite this happening women’s football hasn’t seen the popularity it accustomed in the 1920’s within this present day. A possible reason for this is media coverage. Cooky et al, (2015) states that although there is a lot of media coverage on gender equality issues, media coverage of women’s sport despite the success of many national teams is still unequal and ‘dismally low’. Media coverage stayed at a steady level until 2015. In 2015 Canada Hosted the Women’ FIFA World Cup. This was a milestone for the women’s game due to the record number of viewers that watched the Women’s World Cup. Throughout each round of the tournament, viewer records were being broken and FIFA estimated a TV audience of more than 1 billion viewers worldwide. His estimate was more than double than the previous FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2011 (The Conversation, 2017). Since the world cup in Canada, the interest in the women’s game has been more positive. As a result of the women’s team success, the domestic leagues have continued to grow with the women’s super league (WSL) and the women’s super league two (WSL2) now attracting more spectators due to the success. In addition, the growing popularity of the women’s FA Cup has also been aided by the game now being played at Wembley stadium the same sporting environment as the men’s game, showing gender equality and diversity.
Furthermore, due to the greater media coverage of women’s sport, individual women across the country are now starting to look up to female footballers. England and Manchester City captain, Steph Houghton has accumulated over 87,000 followers throughout social media and has recently become a Sky Sport pundit. As the duration of time has gone on, searches on Google and YouTube have increased due to more knowledge being spread about women’s sport worldwide.
Although women’s football has seen a rise in spectators, investment and popularity they are still a world apart from the men’s game. Men get paid more than women, they’re offered better sponsorship and attract more spectators during games. I believe the women’s game will eventually reach the level of stature as the men’s game but not for a while. This is because people still think women’s football and women sport is dwarfed by the phenomenon of men’s football and men’s sport. Adams (2013) believes women’s football is up against one of the great, cultural icons of our time: men's football, which dwarfs every other sport. Women’s football has had its ups and downs, but with more media coverage and the sport being more present on social media the sport will continue to become more well-known with more women and girls playing football as time goes on.
