╳┆The ground beneath them groaned, preceding its shift by mere moments. He prepared to leap from one platform to the next, but his borrowed attire got the better of him and he sorely undershot the landing. The ledge scraped him from shin to chest on his downward plummet, arms just barely catching the platform before he managed to sink toward oblivion.

As he began dragging himself toward safety, fighting the rotation of the still-turning maze, he felt someone grab his wrist and hoist him to relative safety.

“Stay on yer feet,” Gajeel snapped, irritation laden in both face and voice, “If yer gonna be embarrassing, do it away from me.”

“Right,” he agreed, just barely managing to suppress his mortification. Only the first event and he was already making a mess of things. Not using his own magic was going to be even more of a challenge than he'd already anticipated.

Blasted pants. It’s hard to believe there is any alternate version of himself that would wear these gravity defying monstrosities.

Belatedly, he tossed out an underbreath, "Appreciate it," as they turned to catch up with the others, who had taken the shifting map into stride and carried on without missing a beat.

Gajeel grumbled back, "Don't mention it."

╳┆As the third day's events began and the stadium came abuzz, he found his window to slip away unnoticed. The past few nights of aimless roaming about, catching whispers of that sour presence on the wind, have yet to bear fruit. All that time wasted was compounding; it made his bones itch. He hadn't attended these games on holiday — hadn't broken the rules and risked Fairy Tail's elimination just to suffer a humiliating forfeit and then sulk in the stands. No, there was something evil lurking about, and he fully intended to find it.

"They went that way."

Despite his prickly countenance, Gajeel seemed adept at sneaking about. Jellal barely heard him approach before he'd issued his offhand comment, pointing in the opposite direction in which Jellal originally intended to go.

Just as he opened his mouth to respond, Gajeel cut him off to explain, "They stink."

Jellal nodded, remembering the reaction he received upon his last expression of gratitude, and shifted his stride accordingly. "Tell me how the day goes."

"Nah," Gajeel called behind him, "I ain't yer fuckin' parrot."

Natsu and juvia as a brotp

I just think they would have such a great dynamic and it is just such a shame they aren’t explored more considering that not only are they nakama but the two closest people to gray.

To start off they are FIRE AND WATER opposite but of similar attributes. Both emotional, extreme,incredibly stubborn, and have the ability to both destroy everything they touch or be the thing that allows for life to blossom. This reflects so much in their personalities and their relationship with their guildmates gajeel, erza, lucy and most especially gray. They are both a little obsessive, very one track minded, and have a habit of trying to be besties with kinda cold, scary( but secretly just scared to open up and be vulnerable so they use intimidation as a way to feel in control) people!

Speaking of cold, “scary” people, gray is a big part of both their lives, and his impact on both of them is something that should be touched upon more. Similarly, I feel like with Natsu and juvia being the most positive people in gray's life and their impact on his idea of love, it should be looked at how their shared characteristics are the things that bring gray back into the light. Also with the whole thing with them constantly being the ones to keep him from ice shelling, they should make a “ We Appreciate Gray” club. Juvia is the president( duh) and Natsu is the reluctant secretary who pretends he doesn’t care but will pull out all the stops to make the events incredible.

Natsu and juvia would definitely be the pair that no one thinks would get along but put them in a room and suddenly it's like an 8th grade sleepover. They have all the same friends and I swear to god they both are so much more gossipy then they let on. Playing the fool gets you incredibly far when it comes to getting blackmail material also NATSU HAS SUPER HEARING! Juvia has experience with dragon slayers( gajeel) so she would definitely use natsu’s super hearing and history with the other ft members to figure out what they like. People wonder how Juvia can stalk so well without getting caught and its because she has 2 (possibly 3 if she gets wendy on her side) loudmouths with super hearing and smell. Natsu and Juvia would definitely trade tips on how to make their friends happy and what to get them for their birthdays. Also i think that juvia would be a great place for natsu to kinda outlet some of his more emotional thoughts about his family because juvia thinks about the guild in the same way he does, but is better at expressing her love for them! I think they have a knitting ( juvia sucks so bad, she can sew, not knit and ends up setting her work on fire. how? Nobody knows) or baking club( natsu eat the ingredients before they start) that meets once a month that turns into just an hour long gossip session where they end up dealing “baby” pics of their friends. They give off inlaws who have a group chat that is just random photos of cats and complaints about how their respective partners ( the other’s siblings) won't get out of the house.

This isn’t even touching on the magic part, HOW COOL WOULD IT BE TO SEE A WATER AND FIRE COMBO ATTACK? LIKE COME ON MASHIMA DON'T BE A COWARD

I really wish we got to see more of them. They would be such a fun duo!

Speaking of which did you have any other ideas for the other main characters like Team Natsu? I'm really curious to see how your Gray interacts with Juvia in this and how you made their relationship more concrete.

Akfbskf I saw!! I'm so glad you like my ideas, I always get a little nervous when I post about changing character dynamics because I've been spoken to,,,,,, not super nicely about my perception of character dynamics and how I change them sometimes

I've got a lot of thoughts all the time, but let me answer your questions A bit!

Did you have any other ideas for main characters like Natsu?

Tons!! I dont even really know where to begin talking about our main cast, there's so many individual ideas for each of them

But I can say that they all learn/teach each other's magic to each other, with varying levels of success

Natsu having the most success learning Lucy's celestial magic, Lucy having the most learning Erza's requip magic, Gray to everyone's surprise coming the closest to learning Natsu's Dragon Slayer magic, and Erza having the most succes with Gray's maker magic

I'm really curious to see how your Gray interacts with Juvia

It's very similar to his dynamic with Lucy for the most part! But sometimes, it's also like

And Juvia will repeat herself with no hesitation, and Gray gets really embarrassed and either walks away or starts an argument depending on how many other people are around or what people they are

Did you have any other platonic or romantic pairings in mind we didn't really see in the anime?

Well, as I'm sure you saw because you went through my blog, I would absolutely kill to see a Natsu/Juvia team up, so yeah, I was thinking about that duo for this

It was mostly pretty silly-- not really knowing how to talk to each other, but managing to enjoy each other's company because Juvia can kind of bring Natsu down a bit when hes getting too worked up, and Natsu can get Juvia passionate about something she would have otherwise been indifferent to

I think I also mentioned back on the post asking about Gajeel and Juvia in particular, but I talked about Gajeel forming a bond with the Strauss siblings-- he's like the 4th sibling they never wanted (affectionate)

And even though they were kind of shown in the anime, I really wanted to explore the dynamic between Erza and Wendy more, as well as the relationship between the 3 exceeds

I think Wendy and Happy are particularly fascinating as characters, because their magic is clearly intended for support, and they're surrounded by people who can do more, even in the case of Happy with the other exceeds who can perform transformation magic and be able to put up a fight, which is why I wanted to explore the dynamics I'd mentioned haha

I'd also really like to take a bigger dive into Lucy's relationships with her spirits! Especially since one of the things that bothered me was the way the celestial spirit system worked! I had some ideas for Aries and Virgo in particular for little mini arcs, similar to the ones we got for Loke and Aquarius, and how Lucy buids her trust and relationship with the spirits who's keys she holds-- I don't wanna share goo much about that though, I actually have some really cool art pieces in progress about them and I wanted to wait to talk about exploring those dynamics more until I got there

Hi, welcome, I'm the CEO of Minerva Orland, you are in the Minerva love blog, where I love and worship Minerva Orland and every other character comes second. favorite ship:

I like the majority of ft femslash ships, but the ones I tend to come back to are YukiNerva (of course), LisVia in particular when Edo!Juvia is involved in one way or another, and LuVia. From the first two I love the angsty concepts that can come up from the dynamics, and with the last one I lean more toward fluff.

favorite arc:

The phantom arc, there are things I don't enjoy in some of the most plot-heavy arcs, but I feel phantom is very well done in regards to how it introduces us to parts of the story of many characters, and it is the first one where there is a change to the status quo what with the guild being destroyed, character dynamics changing and new characters being introduced.

favorite op/ed:

He'd be happy to be friends with any of the ladies you write. I can see a FWB thing with Cana cause she's 'anti-being tied down' haha. I can't see a hateship of either form with any of them. He's capable of being a giant bag of dicks, sure but he's not THAT bad. As for the last option? Not sure who would want to try taming the dragon that is Gajeel. I'm always open for trying various dynamics, but I honestly can't really /see/ hateships despite him being capable of being a giant walking dick. If nothing else we can always just try various things and see what happens.

Obviously nothing is set in stone by any means but the idea of most of the dynamics could make for interesting things to explore for sure. Kinship is sort of just 'default' I guess? Since guild mates. That's valid for everyone but Flare though he could view her as kin due to Raven Tail so there's that situation I suppose?

Rambling about Fairies - Rhodonite Chapter 6

And finally, my favourite thing about spinoffs, the fact that Natsu and Lucy are out of the picture, so we can explore dynamics between characters not associated with the main characters. 

It’s hardly emphasized much how people grew closer to Gajeel after slowly accepting him in canon. Of course, Jet and Droy had the scene of beating him up and Natsu had the reluctant teamups, but Gray and Erza, for example, never really gets touched upon in regard to how they’re accepting Gajeel into the guild. They just had a rushed convo in Edolas regarding the situation and then it’s done. We’re just to assume they grew to tolerate and accept him over time because there’s no time to look into those things.

But here, we see Juvia being fascinated to learn more about it, Gray putting pieces together to judge him for his crappy personality (half-affectionate), and Levy being slightly solemn in realizing there’s still distance between them, setting up some flags for Gajevy to develop.

Juvia’s Response To The Haterz

Decided to do this because I don’t think anyone has done it yet. 

Juvia: Hello everyone! How are you? Juvia hopes you are all safe and healthy. I was really nervous about doing this at first because I didn’t want to add more fuel to the fire. But after constantly asking my guild members about what Juvia thinks she should do, they all said that I should be completely honest with them. So here Juvia goes!  

The majority know about my past and my affiliation with the dark guild Phantom Lord under the direction of Master Jose. Juvia had no one else that showed her the kind of affection and generosity. All of Juvia’s life I have been ridiculed, abandoned, and drenched in my rain of solitude. When I had my first encounter with Fairy Tail, that being Lucy-san, the fierceness in her eyes sparked something in Juvia. Juvia initially thought she was fragile but her confidence and aura radiated, even if she couldn’t do anything when she was encased in my Water Lock. The moment Fairy Tail knew about her disappearance, Juvia’s stomach churned because she could feel their anger from miles away.

Juvia thought really hard about why she was so anxious about fighting Fairy Tail. Phantom Lord has fought countless of guilds beforehand and nothing sparked Juvia’s interest. There was just something particular about that guild that was so fascinating. And when I had finally met Gray-sama... the sadness and loneliness I once knew,  was gone. Juvia can’t even describe the feeling and the experience of seeing the sun peaking through the clouds and the way his smile warmed my cold heart.

Juvia hopes you understand that these new feelings that I was foreign to, was so overwhelming. I did not know how to react and how to comprehend them, but all I knew that in my heart, I had fallen for the man that saved me from my own rain. Juvia understands how cringey that may seem, despite the cringey affections Juvia has thrown herself into. But, even so, even if you’ll never believe Juvia… I really love him with all of my heart. Even if some people think that Juvia is just thirsty for attention or screen time… I really do love him.

Juvia will be honest and say that she is not the greatest at expressing it discreetly, which can make people uncomfortable… but I can’t help but light up whenever Gray-Sama is around because his presence makes me so happy… is Juvia not allowed to be happy?

Juvia is aware that “stalker” might be associated with her name for a long time, if not forever….. and trust me, I have tried to move on, after Phantom Lord officially disbanded. Gajeel-kun was very kind in asking if I would like to stay by his side for a little while until he found something for the both of us... but all I kept thinking about was Fairy Tail. So Juvia took matters into my her own hands, let myself be free from hesitation and allow my curiosity to flow. Natsu-san's team dynamic was so strong, they were like family. She saw how important they were to him. She had seen some parts of his fight with Gajeel-kun and she could tell that his fighting drive and fury came from his dedication to protecting his friends. And she could see why...

Juvia is saying this because she really wanted to be in Fairy Tail for the bonds she desperately wanted to cultivate. I know some people think that my whole existence revolves around Gray-sama... but I know that that is simply not true. I have made so many lifelong friendships with everyone in the guild, even to the ones I don’t spend as much time with, because the energy that Fairy Tail brings is so desirable  that any enemy that challenges them, respects them. Juvia knows that for sure because Gajeel-kun and I do, and why Juvia pushed him to  join in the first place. Juvia has never seen Gajeel-kun in such a positive light, mentally and being in Fairy Tail is the reason why we grew closer.

Gray-sama has rejected Juvia multiple times so many people have asked why Juvia is trying so hard to earn his affection. It is true that Juvia tries not to leave Gray-sama's side because I really care about him. But as hard as it is to believe, I would  never force Gray-sama to reciprocate his feelings. Of course, I wanted him to and when he does reject Juvia, it does hurt. But even so, Juvia knows that Gray-sama changed me for the better which is why Juvia has been holding on for so long. If Gray-sama really wanted me out of his life, Juvia would respect his wishes even if he fell in love with someone else, because I would rather love than be loved :)

Juvia has tried really hard to avoid talking about this... but I know I have to because so many of you have a lot to say about it... and I completely understand why. When Gray-sama and Juvia were forced to fight each other during our battle with Invel, I have never been so frightened in my entire life. Killing myself was the last thing I ever wanted to do. There is so much more of the world that I want to explore and memories I want to create. To label Juvia as “homicidal” really pains my heart... because Juvia knows how it felt to feel helpless and not worthy of life... but being a Fairy Tail member, I realized how grateful I am to be alive with the people I care so deeply about. Making that decision was the most difficult one I had to make and you know why Juvia did so. 

*takes a deep breath* If you had made it this far, thank you for taking the time out of your day to listening to the girl you may not tolerate as much in the guild. It really means a lot that you listened to my truth. And even if you do not agree with some of the things I said, and you still hate Juvia and don’t support Gray-sama and I, Juvia is completely fine with that and I respect your opinion. But Juvia knows herself now and she will do the things that make her happy, no matter what anyone else says.

 Gray:  *walks in*  Hey.. you’ve been talking to them for quite a while now. Everyone back at the guild is starting to get a little worried. You okay?

Juvia: Gray-sama! Juvia is alright! It actually feels really relieving to finally let this all go. It has been bothering Juvia for quite a while now.  *tries to hold back tears of happiness*

Gray *smiles and sits next to her* : Just to let you all know, she didn’t have to sit down here and talk with you guys. She shouldn’t even be the one carrying all this weight because I, myself was a jerk to not only her but myself. In fact, I tried to convince her not to do this because we both are in such a better place that no one and nothing could ever change that. 

Juvia: Juvia isn’t trying to defend herself and I respect all of you no matter how you view me. But I just wanted to sit down and tell you about how I feel about the things being said because Juvia will be forever grateful towards you all for supporting our guild for so long and you all deserve my transparency. 

Gray: You guys also earned my respect. *smacks a card in the haterz’ hands.* Which is why you’re invited to our wedding :)

Should Lisanna have come back? (Part 2)

This is part two of a three part series answering the question. Yesterday, I talked about the sensibility of Lisanna’s return in canon. Today, we ask a different question.

Question: Has Lisanna impacted the series much since coming back?

Answer: Sorta...

I feel like this will be the question that gets me in trouble with the Lisanna fandom.

I want to get this out of the way now. Lisanna was always going to be a side character. That's not to say that there aren't characters outside of the Strongest Team that impact the series and are important, both good and bad. 

But I'm worried about how much people talk up Lisanna's pre-Edolas mentions as if she was being built up to join the Strongest Team. Lisanna before Edolas is brought up in a handful of chapters. If she's isn't being directly talked about, we see her through flashbacks lasting one panel. (I'm not including Natsu and the Dragon Egg in this.) Consider that the first time we see Lisanna talk is when we first meet her in Edolas.

For the life of me, I'll never understand how the genre of fanfiction that turns Lisanna into a member of Team Natsu as a replacement for Lucy became so prolific. I've talked about these stories in great detail already, but this always baffles me when considering Lisanna's place in the series. The only reason I can imagine people would do this is that they believed Lisanna to be a serious threat to the dynamic of Nalu. How that interpretation of canon evolved into the trope we know today is beyond me. Thankfully, these stories are much less common than they used to be.

At any rate, Lisanna's not a part of any major fights. She's not directly responsible for major plot changes. Nothing she does directly affects the series in any major way. It's not as if Lisanna helps Natsu find Igneel or Gray get over Deliora or anything like that.

Again though, Lisanna didn't do much before the Edolas arc. Obviously, I care about the stuff she did with Natsu and have often talked about its relevance. That aside, Lisanna not doing a whole lot isn't terribly inconsistent. 

Lisanna was always written as a character who was important to a handful of characters. In fact, this is the key to understanding her post-Edolas. Lisanna continued to serve as a key link to understanding those characters she was linked to. Though, I can't say that I particularly love how this manifests.

In Tenrou, we see how much Mirajane cares about her relationship with her siblings. (Remember her fight with Elfman and Evergreen?) This is shown in how she's willing to sacrifice herself to save her sister. Lisanna, in this instance, was... effectively held hostage as an excuse to get a good fight from Mira.

In Tartarus, we see how Elfman still considers himself to be weak. He's also unable to protect his sister and it almost costs her life (for real this time), as well as the entire Fairy Tail guild. And here, Lisanna is... rendered a pawn in Seilah's scheme and thrown in a cell.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really have a problem with either of these moments. It is worth recognizing that in both of these arcs, Lisanna does get the opportunity to fight opponents in minor fights. Also, these situations are the result of strong opponents using unfair tactics. If Mira and Erza struggled against both Azuma and Seliah, Lisanna wasn't going to stand a chance fighting against either on her own. 

At the same time, I wish that there was a case where Lisanna served a more active role in benefiting their arcs. These instances are more passive roles, where she shows their philosophies without acting. This isn't necessarily out of line with what we've gotten from the past uses of Lisanna. But I would have liked it if things changed now that she was present with the characters.

Think of Levy as an example. People argue that her character has been reduced to her interactions with Gajeel. At the same time, she takes actions that confirm her feelings about their relationship. In Tenrou, she gives him extra iron for him to eat. In Tartarus, she does the same, but with air.

You'll notice that I haven't talked about how she's interacted with Natsu in this regard.

I mean, there was the one conversation in the anime regarding the extra gravestone they made for her. But that didn't really go anywhere. Their conversation in Tartarus was more about the present situation than anything else. 

We didn't get a situation where Natsu saves Lisanna, aside from being saved from Edolas. We don't get serious deep conversations involving their past relationships and their current prospects. Lisanna isn't given many opportunities to interact with Natsu and Natsu doesn't think about Lisanna much.

A lot of fans take this to mean that their relationship was displaced because of Nalu. Other fans argue that Mashima would have done more but backed away from it because of Nalu fans. I don't go very far in either direction. However, I think it's a shame that Natsu and Lisanna's relationship hasn't been explored further since Edolas. I hope that fans, regardless of their views on the Natsu ships, would enjoy seeing more Lisanna and Natsu interactions.

Though, it might have been for the better.

Not long after Fairy Tail ended, Mashima admitted that he had the idea to put Natsu, Lucy, and Lisanna in a love triangle of sorts. (I'm choosing to ignore the rest of his comments.) As much as I would like to see more Nali, I don't think fandom could bear a legitimate threat to Nalu happening. Fandom has barely treated Lisanna well over the years, to begin with. (Another rant for another day.)

1. I’ll start with the obvious! Jellal and Erza will always have a very special place in my heart. Their dynamic has a unique intimacy to it that transcends romantic and platonic. I will spare you all my endless thoughts on this pairing for now, but I am never not thinking about them, and I am so lucky to have @mamorigami as a rp partner!

2. Jellal and Lucy! Despite not interacting much (if at all?) in canon, I imagine they share a lot of the same interests, and their personalities mesh well together. Whether platonic or romantic, this ship has always been such a blast to write and has made for some of my very favorite threads.

3. Jellal and Gajeel. While I’ve only ever explored the platonic side of their dynamic, these two have so many opportunities to connect over shared experiences (ex. path to redemption, ex-council members, complicated pasts with their respective love interests). As with above, their personalities tend to compliment one another well and I’ve always really enjoyed their mostly lighthearted back and forth.

Macbeth:

+ Sorano: Its one i’m happy with either otp or brotp (its an original ship from way back but i havent developed it or had a chance to think much about it so its probably more sitting in brotp land atm, it needs more love in any case). They have been together forever, they Know each other. They Get it. Which could also be bad in a way but idk. She is also one of the few people he actually cares about :’) and they just have such a Look 

+ Meredy: Ever since Oracion Seis joined CS i’ve been thinking about these two! They’ve done bad things, she’s working to be good. He’s.......well, not really working on that. It could all go so Bad but also just be interesting. He might mess with her and i dont think my boy is really capable of a good kinda love but kjngkfjn they look nice together ok. And i think they could have a good dynamic and she really just. Puzzles him. I’ve also kinda actually had a bad experience with this ship in the past but I’m trying not to let it taint the ship as a whole! 

+ Levy: She’s a feisty little nerd and he is here for it ok. I have been craving at least a brotp with them for like 5 years for real 😭 i think her intelligence will get him hooked especially. But also again, he’s gonna mess with her and tug at any insecurity she has, so theres gonna be some rough patches for sure. But also i just think they’d look cute.

+ Juvia: HE KNOWS ALL ABOUT HER OK she and gajeel destroyed some of the guilds Oracion Seis were running and in my book he was impressed. He has long been interested in her since then, she’s highly skilled and she’s smart and he also just doesn’t really understand her

+ Millianna: they’ve both survived the Tower and he remembers her from there. A running theme for him in any sort of relationship is for him to push the boundaries and just be an ass, he likes to get into peoples minds and mess with them (it isnt until they either break or he starts to respect them more that he eases up) but with Milli i think he will just let her be. He knows what she’s been through and for once he doesn’t want to further someone’s pain. She’s also super frickin cute and I’m a sucker for the bubbly girl and emo dude aesthetic. Also he really likes cats so they can bond over that.

Honorable mentions: 

Erza (honestly just hateship all the way 😂), Cana (fun and chill vibes im thinking), Flare (in a verse where she’s joined CS maybe and idk. they both have fabulous hair and are pretty but with a vein of psycho), Lucy (i used to ship it a lot, i think her intelligence and strength would interest him, i like the light and dark aesthetic too, but its also another ship i had a bad experience with, so its a little lower on the list for me atm), Mary (shhhhh ok they would be fun brotp or otp)

Loke:

+ Cana: Canon teammates, good friends. Beautiful looking pair. They have such great potential and with the right plotting it could hurt so good. I imagine they had a lot of trust before he was called out as being a spirit and i’d love to explore them working on rebuilding their connection. Angst and tension central.

+ Lucy: Their bond is so so so so important to me in whatever form it is. I’ve shipped them for a long time but also its difficult because of him being under her contract, so honestly I’m absolutely happy for some one-sided love or tragic forbidden love/believed unrequited stuff. He would do anything for her in any case.

+ Juvia: a guilty pleasure ship tbh. She deserves someone as generous and open as he is, and he’s a gentleman who will treat her right. I imagine mostly a soft friendship to lovers kinda thing (but obvs with some Drama bc he’s a spirit), he’d just be a very supportive and good friend to her and then the feels creep in? She’s also hella pretty. Also his friendship with Gray could also come into play too, like in a version of Juvia and Gray being close (bc gdi i would support a healthy friendship with those two) which leads to Loke spending more time with Juvia and he would approach her more without Gray too.

+ Yukino: I mean, again there’s some difficulty with the spirit/summoner and spirit/human thing but at least Yuki isnt his summoner (tho hmu for an AU maybe) and like. She just deserves someone nice like him.

+ Levy: she’s pretty and smart and deserves more love. I would love to explore their dynamic in general tbh bc i mean they were guildmates for a few years and i think he would have had some fun flirting/teasing her a bit and she’d maybe blush or roll her eyes or think nothing of it and never guess he actually does like her !

'Ship Bias' Gajeel

1. Gajeel x Levy [Gavy]: my OTP for Gajeel, they were enemies that became opposites that attracted and got their happy ending, well the road is there at least haha. They got the brain/brawn, size differences dynamic, and currently my Gajeel still won't stfu about how awesome his Levy is compared to other females mages lmao.

2. Gajeel x/& Juvia {Gavia): I just love these two together as BFFs, but they work well in a romantic sense too, so would would be fun to explore that through RP. They know each other well even before joining Fairy Tail, and Juvia’s always been an advocate and supporter of him, and him to her in return.

3. Gajeel & Natsu (BroTP): They are the ultimate BFF rivals, being both dragon slayers and S Class Candidates. My versions of Gajeel/Natsu still fight over stupid trivial things, which will (unfortunately) carry on to their ship partners and their children by extension, so a lot of NaLu vs Gavy lmao.

4. Gajeel & Rogue (BroTP): I like the mentor / older brother like role Gajeel has with him, which would be cool to expand upon in RP. They share a similar theme of darkness as well, and (my) Gajeel takes things on another level with his rivalry with Natsu, making sure Rogue is better than Sting to show that he is the better mentor, even though (my) Natsu doesn’t really care lmao.

5. Gajeel x/& Lucy [GaLu[: While I do see the romantic potential, I see them more as (good) friends, especially with my own portrayal of Gajeel. He’d just waiting for the next chance he can get to con Lucy into dancing for him on stage (for his band) lmao.

Honest Opinion on Ships

GrayxLucyRomance Wise- Not my Favorite Lucy and Gray ship (Obviously-) But I actually really DO Like GrayxLucy out there. They’ve got a great dynamic together that can also lead to a cute romance if written/drawn right.  I prefer them as a brotp, but whooo, have you seen some of the fanart out there? FRICKEN CUTE!

ErzaxNatsu

No. No. No. and Hell no. (Did I mention, no?)

I personally cannot see them in a romantic relationship. At all. It just.. weirds me out and kinda makes me feel gross. I can sorta imagine Erza with Gray, but that’s only because I feel Gray MIGHT have had a mini crush on her when they were children. That’s a bit might.For the most part, however, I honestly feel Natsu and Erza view each other as an older sister and little brother. In fact, all three of them could easily see each other as siblings. And what do we think of sibling romance? As gross. Hence, my thoughts and feelings on the pairings being a big no. I love them as siblings and I’m super happy with them as siblings. So I’d definitely like to keep them there.

Similar to above- I view them more as family/siblings so I’m not really huge on the ship. - but unlike with Erza, I can make some exceptions to that- as I also don’t always view them as siblings either. Natsu and Gray could totally be those kids who grew up together with unspoken crushes that built up in time.  Also, there’s some damn cute fanart of them too, so that’s always nice to see. Like Graylu- I prefer them as friends, but I’m not against them together.

LucyxLoke

IF NALU WASN’T MY OTP I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THIS ONE WOULD BE! There’s some cuteness between these two that just- I canNOT handle, and Loke makes it so obviously that he cares for Lucy deeply. Just not in the creepy, “Why wont you love me, woe is me she doesn’t notice me” kinda way. Which I’m super happy about. There’s a lot of headcanons, sad/cute ideas I have about these two and their friendship, especially with Lucy’s faith in him and the other Spirits. I’m not sure if a relationship with a Celestial Spirit is really doable, but definitely a cute idea to explore, and DEFINITELY something I’d be down for shipping.

You know, if Natsu wasn’t there.

Canon wise, totally just see them as friends and can’t really see them as much else, but I’ve seen some cute ass things of these ladies together and I’m totally okay with it.

aghr;wgharg I can go on and on forever about this pairing and I’m not even entirely sure if I should. Cause, on the one hand, I think it is one of my favorite pairings in Fairy Tail. On the other hand, I think Mashima wrote it’s build totally wrong storyline wise and made both characters WAY TOO FOCUSED on the ship rather than being individual people. (Levy especially.) And that just makes me SO FRICKEN SAD!

And is one of the many, giant reasons, I can ship Gajeel and Levy with other characters very easily. Don’t get me wrong, I love them together, but I really don’t think Mashima truly gets how you write the sort of relationship they had. Or how it should build up. There is SO MUCH STUFF THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BUT WAS GLOSSED OVER AND AGIHRIGHARGARAG!!

Yeah, like I said, I can go on and on forever about it, and I think the safest bet here is for me not to at this point.

Sure thing! Let’s start with FTcause bnha has soooo many characters and is a hodgepodge of ships.

Fairy Tail:

Gajevy -My true OTP. They are the halves that make each other whole. Both are greatcharacters on their own but together they make each other better. Levy isanalytical and shy with the intellect and work ethic beyond anyone else. Gajeelknows how to get the job done; he is fiercely protective and very in touch withhis emotions. He doesn’t care what others think of his attitude, and to him actionsmean more than words. Both could be classified as people who like to work aloneyet they both have small teams (Shadow gear and pantherlily / dragonslayers).Levy is the planning to Gajeel’s punch and Gajeel is the confidence behind Levy’swords. I love their dynamic so much. They have gone through pain, recovery,trust, friendship, and love. There is so much to explore with both of theircharacters and life in general. The flirty banter is strong with these two.They fall into the “world melts away” relationship. They sometimes don’trealize how obviously in love they are because neither is good at hidingemotions, and both are direct, passionate people with their feelings. Levy andGajeel push each other just enough to foster growth without crossing the lineof fighting all the time. In a word they are balanced. I can’t see them withothers because they make for the most supportive, balanced pair long term.

Nalu - Whata dynamic and friendship! These two have a great connection and trust in eachother. They are playful but caring with corny innuendos sprinkled in. They makesense. They have moved from friends to partners who have saved each othersasses enough times for them to think…why do I run headfirst into danger foryou. I find them interesting since they have a different dynamic than my otherdragonslayer/bookworm duo. There are threads of similarity but they have adifferent core bond. They are a couple that shows that love can grow andchange, relationships develop at different speeds and love doesn’t have to be asudden burst where you just know.

Jerza -Being a leader is a lonely job. These two are really interesting to me. Theyare the stoic captains that put everyone before themselves. Erza cares deeplyabout her guild and puts the weight of everyone’s happiness above her own. Shemade what she believes to be a selfish decision long ago that defined her andhas been trying to make up for it since. Jellal is similar. He made terriblechoices he is unwilling to forgive. Neither believes they deserve the love andaffection they desire. There is a constant inner turmoil is fun to play with.Head vs heart. I believe these two are each others’ home. No one understandsthe pressure they feel like the other can. When they can be together the wallscome down and both can enjoy the simple things they normally give up. Together,neither has to be the person people will turn to for help or guidance, they canjust be themselves. Let your hair down Erza, you deserve love andrelaxation.   

Bixanna -Mischief making matchmakers! I love these two. They both are the cutewisecrackers of their respective groups. Bickslow has this gruff edge, keepcalm and kick ass side, and totally dorky jokes. He’s not afraid to get sillyand gives zero fucks. Lisanna is the total support he needs to be himself.Wanna be silly and go play pranks? Lis can keep up. Wanna go fight monsters?Lis can keep up and look cute doing it. Wanna chill on the couch and thinkabout how strong of a bond your team has? Lis does too. They work well in thesense of balance too. Lisanna tends to be the person that is quietly friendswith everyone but is close with a select few. Bickslow brings her out of hershell. She’s had a strange distance since returning to the guild and primarilyhangs with fam…I think that those years people thought she was dead made herreturn bittersweet. They tried to move on as best they could and she got leftbehind. When she gets back it’s hard to find her place. Her old dynamics havechanged…the bond is still there but things aren’t the same. Theirrelationship isn’t built in the past or defined by her return. They are peoplewho found each other unexpectedly…one of those relationships that suddenlyhappened when neither was looking for it. I think I’d categorize them ashope and future. Both have had dark times that may haunt them occasionally, butthey give each other a clean slate and zero judgment. 

Merelow -My official crack babies. I was randomly thinking one day and this ship fellinto my lap! Bickslow: badass jokester. Meredy: badass bubblegum girl. Put emtogether and magic. These two are ready to try anything and everything. Theybring out the adventurous spontaneity in each other. Both have been on thewrong side of the fight and have moved forward. They have a core team thatmeans the world to them and are supremely loyal to each other. These two aresimilar to the bixanna dynamic with more of a wanderer side thrown in. They’vehad their breakdowns and have forgiven themselves and grown. They both give somuch love and cheer to their friends. I also love how compatible their magicis. Soul control and soul link. These two aren’t afraid to fight and cry andlove and sing. Neither tries to hide anything from the other. They are socomfortable together and they truly understand each other. They make everyeffort so that the other will smile, and I just love them.

Sildarts -OK. so. @gsut​ and @sanguine-fairy got me on this ship. Grumpy kickass dudes withgrumpy kids. They’ve been through many hardships in life and have loved andcried and have so much more life behind them than most of my other ships. They havea deeper connection by their love for their kids and their strain to have alife of their own. These two experienced individuals kinda trip over themselveslike teens as they explore a new side of themselves in this relationship. Noone knows how it’s supposed to go. Silver has many of the qualities I admire in Gray and kindareigns in Gildarts’ craziness. Gildarts gives him balance. He throws stoicSilver and all caution to the wind and make them both laugh and fill the piecesof their hearts that have been empty. Also these men know how to brood and beangry and glum…they have held in their emotions so much that both understandthe subtle cues when the other is upset…though it doesn’t always stop somepretty intense fights. They are passionate guys that hold each other up whenlife tries to punch them in the gut. 

Lyredy - Two sweet, sensitive cuties. These two are harmony. Lyon is hella romantic and is always doing things both large and smallto show how much he cares for her. Meredy can see through the bravado he putson to the core person he is. She helps Lyon not to take himself too seriouslyand he always makes her laugh and smile. Meredy has insecurities about her pastand Lyon understands this himself. He will be as over the top as her can or asdown to earth as he needs to make her feel better. Both talk big about love butfind themselves remarkably shy when it actually happens. They are a mix ofadventure and shyness and pull each other along to find new things to love.They are a softer romance and I adore them.

Gruvia - Pushing through barriers these two truly stumbledinto romance. She could see his walls from the start and has felt the pain ofbuilding them herself, but Gray showed her such kindness that she truly felt achange. Gray and Juvia are elements that shape each other, pushing each otherto grow without necessarily trying. They became friends who feel a strong senseof responsibility to each other. Time turned friendship to love and I enjoy theway they play with the intensity of their romance. At times they are soft andsweet and others they are hot and heavy. She gives him a place to be candidwith his emotions and he reigns in her dramatic side. At their cores they carefor each other deeply and rely on their mutual support more than they realize.They will always drift back to each other, even when things tough.

Miraxus/Laxana/Canajane/Fraxus - idk why but I love them ALL. Miraxus is so cute andfun. They both have a calm and wild side. They are the heads of theirrespective groups and take things very seriously. When they’re together theycan let their hair down. Laxus sees through the smile she always wears down tothe fragile person she can be. Laxus is so stoic and Mira can always tell whathe’s thinking. They are more reserved as a couple and just enjoy each other’scompany. Laxana is fun and flirty. They rile each other up and don’t let thefun stop. They can laugh at anything and take great fun in jokes and quips witheach other. Always exploring and having an adventure with these two! Canajane.Talk about flirty cuteness and innuendos. They truly care about each other andCana is always pushing Mira to try new things. Mira keeps Cana grounded andwill always support and carry her. Fraxus. Mutual love and support. They aren’tfond of pda but the love can always be seen in their eyes. These two trulyhave each other’s back and always understand what each other needs.

Anyone else…I enjoy mymultishipping (aside from gajevy) so if there’s another couple that I canreally understand I’ll probably enjoy them: Chendy, LaLu, GrayLu, Alzack/Bisca,Stinerva, Minerza, Freed/Rufus, ships with Juvia, peeps from Mermaid Heel, etc.The only problem I have is if I can’t understand the relationshipdynamic…then things just fizzle in my mind.

Todomomo - insecure strong kids that lift each other up andbelieve in each other. Momo is such an interesting character and I love her.

Kacchako - fight like a girl. He respects her and she respectshim. They push each other to be better and I just love a cinnamon roll with agrumpy boy

Iihatsu - who better for a machine inventing girl than the guywith the engine built right in? she’s not afraid of anything and helps iida letloose. He’s always there to try her new inventions and she always makes himsmile.

Fuyusei, Bakumomo, Bakushima - love them all and they totally make sense

KiriMina, Jiro/Kaminari - such cute kids

Momo/Iida, Ochako/Iida,Ochako/Deku, Hakagure/Ojiro - cute potential and they have moments that make me smile
