One of my fav times to run is sunset. In the winter, that means beginning in the afternoon (sunset ~4:30pm), in the summer that means running at night (sunset ~9:30pm). Huge day length differences ~9.5hrs in winter, ~16hrs in the summer. Each time of year boasts beauty of its own. Embrace that difference and get out there. Change brings excitement and new experience. It challenges us in different ways and make us stronger! So over being sick!!! But I guess I could look at it as a blessing, or should. Let's start looking at the positive side of things right!?!? Sometimes the body needs rest and if a sickness makes you slow down, maybe you needed too. We can overlook just how hard we are on our bodies and neglect giving it the proper rest. So weird to change from posting in am to nights. Trying to spend as much time with family as possible, leaving my stuff for late night while people are sleeping. Today's 6 miler was awesome. Snuck it in while my dad was running and my mom was busy. A chilly 10º real feel, but still didn't need the face mask which was nice. Tested out my @altrarunning jacket and pants I got for Christmas. Winter sunsets are beautiful. Snuck in a treadmill run for times sake. Running after long drives and a couple days off I felt so stiff and the legs were heavy. Did 5 easy miles and that wad about right. I don't push it after traveling and poor sleep. I go by feel, listen to my body. I feel sooo much better now. Weather? Not as warm as we thought, actually the coldest temperatures that we've ever had visiting (real feel of -3º). But it could be worse... back home its a real feel of -25º. So ya know...
