Lute didn't think twice before abandoning Heaven and following Adam, but their encounter with the exorcists - whatever they showed up in Hell for - made her fully REALISE her new position. She still doesn't regret her choice, but the murder of her former charges... unsettled her a little.

Hello hello! I’d like to request some platonic into romantic headcannons on an Alastor x fallen ex-exorcist/exterminator reader please :>
Small background: Reader fell for whatever reason and maybe a few days to a week (or even months-) afterward they end up striking a deal with Alastor, where they’ll be under his protection (because as skilled as they are it wouldn’t matter much with the entirety of hell on their ass) but he gets a pretty good portion of their power in return or maybe something else that you think Alastor would take.
Gender neutral reader pls
I’ve only read one fic or two with this concept and I am on my hands and knees for more lol
If you prefer a different writing format or feel this is too specific or OC-ish please please please feel free to change anything! I’m not very picky ^^
Thank you for your time and have a good day/night!
okay i LOVE this concept — i think it be the slowest fucking burn in the world tho like
you were never one of adam’s favorites, as you had the tendency to spare demons who seem harmless, but covered it nearly everytime
during this last extermination, however, he was trying to catch you fucking up the plan, so the minute you skipped over someone, he had lute launch her weapon at you
i doubt he’d let her kill you or anything, but he definitely just left you there for the demons to finish off, probably pinned to the ground with lute’s spear in your wing or something before he called all the other exorcists back (and he made sure to leave your halo so even if you did change clothes people knew what you were)
luckily (not really) you’d be in cannibal town, so before anyone could get to you, alastor’s probably just walking around like nothings happening (LMAO) and sees you
i doubt he’d make it known he saw you, like he’d definitely keep humming merrily down the street until he saw you struggling to get away from him as quickly as possible and tearing your wing even more
“my, my, let’s calm down, shall we?” he’d laugh and take the spear out of your wing. “isn’t that better, little bird?” but he’d say that while literally pointing the spear at you so don’t feel too safe
you’d definitely get defensive and shoot into the air with your weapon, ready to kill, and i think after seeing you still attempting to fly with that damaged of a wing (like its fucked up), he’d be impressed enough to drop the spear he had with a very big grin
“you’d better hide, little bird”
and you’d take his warning to fly off, quickly snatching lute’s weapon with yours in case you needed to defend yourself
he would literally just smile and watch you leave before continuing to hum and walk down the street
it’d probably be like a solid three days of hiding and having to fight for your life before the damage to your wing really messed with you and you had to force yourself to find a good hiding place
maybe you see charlie on the news and notice that no one seems to want to go to her hotel, so you force yourself to fly all the way there like a week after her horrible interview (ep 1) and practically collapse at the front door
of course you recognize vaggie and of course you practically run over and hug her despite the spear pointed at you… and of course that means vaggie either may or may not have to confess depending on if you pick up that no one knows or not (off the concept but im sparing chaggie heartbreak)
“who the fuck is this?” would be the first thing you hear from a spider demon and you’d have to explain what you were and hope they didn’t kill you — which, duh, charlie wouldn’t that let happen
“hello again, little bird,” would make everyone shut up because… how does alastor know you??? of course, he doesn’t answer their questions, just says hello and moves on like it’s all normal
your first day would totally be catching up with vaggie, probably breaking down because you needed to get back to heaven and had no way there
i think exorcists probably have a little bit of angelic power, but they probably can’t create portals without that power being given to them or something which means you have no way home and no where to go
vaggie and charlie of course tell you to stay, but once anyone shows up they’ll know you’re here and all of hell would be coming to the hotel to try and get to you — and you didn’t want to ruin what they had going (even if it was small you thought it was a great idea) so they probably give you a change of clothes, something more hellish, and tell you to stay until you have somewhere else to go
that would probably give alastor the perfect opportunity to talk to you privately and offer his protection
you wouldn’t take his offer at first, but once pentious shows up and the overlords somehow find out that charlie is hiding an angel in her hotel (vox and his stupid drones) you dont really have a choice
i dont think he’d ask for any power in return, but i do think you’d owe him a favor each time he has to protect you
vox would probably give subtle hints in all the programs he runs, so alastor would have to protect you very often
that meant if he ordered you to get rid of someone, you did it — whether that meant by the snap of your fingers with holy light (which they could potentially survive or respawn from) or killing them with your exorcist weapon was totally up to him sometimes, he just asked that you create a bouquet of flowers for his room
usually the people he had you “take care of” were repulsive enough, and you never minded creating things with your abilities, so you agreed to what he asked with ease
it’d be a little time before who he instructed you to “take care of” slowly shifted to anyone who wronged you
of course, he’d still protect you, but if he didn’t own their soul and he didnt have an angelic weapon, he couldn’t ensure that they wouldn’t come back, so he asked you, “do you think they’ll come back for you, little bird?” if you were unsure, or knew it was likely they’d come back for the person that ended up being the reason they had to go through the painful process of respawning, he’d tell you to just kill them
it’d probably come to a point where he stopped asking for favors, made sure you were alright, and told you to focus on what you needed to do while he “did his job”
i think eventually you’d find a place you think could be safe and once your wing is totally healed up and alright you’d say your goodbyes even though you weren’t that close with anyone but vaggie (also i feel like niffty would be down to talk to u about her bug battles or some shit)
anyway, when you go to say bye to alastor, he definitely cashes in his favor with a simple “hmm, no” cus he sees no reason for you to leave??? like so what everyone else’s lives are in danger by you being here… you’re safer here
so you’d stay, and it’d definitely make charlie happy because if she can get an angel back to heaven that’d prove she could actually do this
you’d be pissed at alastor for a while, but slowly, it seemed like demons understood that by coming for you, they were fucking with the radio demon (and we all know how that goes) so after a few months you were finally left alone
in that time you’d totally help spruce up the hotel while slowly forgetting why you wanted to go back
but every once in a while you’d have a very prolonged sadness about the situation… heaven was your home after all, and even if you liked the hotel, you could never leave because the minute you stepped outside, there was a line for your head — you were trapped there (like a bird in a cage — hence the nickname)
i think even though everyone likes having you there, vaggie would eventually bring up lucifer (like he can literally open a portal…)
but immediately alastor is not fucking having it and he cashes in another one of his pent up favors, saying that getting back to heaven through a fallen angel was the dumbest thing you could do if you wanted it to look like you were the one wronged in this situation (he has a point i fear)
i think this is where you kind of accept that you’re not going home and maybe just give up because 1. you can’t go to the heaven embassy since you’d just be met with adam and 2. the only person that could get you contact wasn’t a good option
i think now would be when alastor recognizes how much you want to go home and finds himself feeling bad?? for keeping you, but he just wants you to get home safely and surely
still, once he sees that you literally wont leave your room and have contemplated taking your own halo he compromises to let you try going to the heaven embassy to see if you could get a meeting with anyone but adam
you said it wasn’t possible, but he insisted “i can’t have you looking so upset all the time, birdie” he’d say while using his hand to squish your cheeks into a smile just to make you laugh
so you’d go — i think you’d totally get there safely but once demons see an exorcist angel coming out of the heaven embassy, you have to fight the minute you step out of the building
you can 100% see holy light from the hotel, so the minute alastor sees a golden beam he’s out the door
you can handle your own, so you fought them off, but i’d imagine you get injured and that’s what really makes alastor realize he’s falling for you cus he’s seething
even just a minuscule amount of golden blood on you had him tearing apart any demon who even looked like they’d been near you
i hate to say it but i don’t think this would be a happy ending — reader loves heaven even though they hate being an exorcist and alastor knows that so he’d definitely keep his feelings hidden and if you showed any signs of feelings for him he’d be terrified because an angel falling, literally falling because thats what would happen to you, for someone like him would never get you back home
obviously it’d come to a point where he doesn’t want you to leave, but at the same time, he’d never keep you
if i did end up writing an actual fic of this it’d probably end on a bit of a cliffhanger ex. reader getting accepted back and being hesitant with alastor’s last favor just him saying, “if you want to stay for anyone, don’t,” and letting you decide whether or not to go back
OR reader being accepted back but still having to be an exorcist, so the next time they see alastor is the finale where adam would 100% put them against him

Could you write like general headcanons for Lute with a (somehow) sinner partner? (Maybe dated before death or something)
A/N: I had fun with this one, there's so much potential angst in it I love it
Character: Lute
Type: Headacanons (Lute x sinner!reader who dated in life, Angst, Fluff)
When she first saw you, she did a double take. She already knew you weren’t in heaven, but shit, seeing you in hell left her reeling. It was your voice that gave it away, you didn’t look the same, but it was you. There was no doubt in her mind.
She manages to steer other exorcists away. In doing so you manage to catch a glimpse of her, though, with her mask on, you didn’t recognize her. But that doesn’t mean that you weren’t confused. You were sure that you had made eye contact with the exorcist.
She doesn’t approach you, not until she’s ready. And she definitely wasn’t ready. And she won’t be, not until a couple of years later. She’ll give chase, cornering you. While Vaggie might have fucked up in letting the sinner go out in the open, she wouldn’t make the same mistake. She pulls you into the ruins of a building. Things quickly escalate, growing more and more complicated with the ensuing back and forth.
The exorcist has some seriously mixed feelings. On the one hand, she still loves you, that much was obvious. She can feel it deep in her heart. But on the other, you’re a sinner and she’s an exorcist. Her literal job is to kill you and the rest of the irredeemable filth of hell. But Lute also knows you. She knew you in life. You were different, she was sure of it.
Lute even finds herself looking forward to the annual extermination more than usual, though not for its true purpose. Adam had initially figured that the longer Lute spent in heaven the more restless she was becoming, so any suspension he might have had, he merely shrugged off. He couldn’t have been farther from the truth.
She goes out of her way to keep this all to herself, knowing that if heaven were to become aware of any of this she would be at risk of falling. And that wasn’t something that she could let happen, not yet at least.
She has a full-on crisis. Should she stop being an exorcist? Should she let you be? Or maybe she should let herself fall? Better still, perhaps she could find a way to bring you up to heaven. She never stopped loving you after all.

(Lady Adam AU)
*Adam woke still in hell and all the Exorcists gone*
Adam: What the fuck.
Adam internally: What’s wrong with my voice.
*Adam quickly stood up and the robes fell from his body which gave him a good look at his body, to his shock it was a woman’s body, instead of his dad bod, he now had a very curvy hourglass figure and what he had to admit were some really nice looking breasts that had to be at least a DD cup, he put his hands between his legs and as expected he no longer had a dick and balls, instead it was a pussy*
Adam internally: Fuck, my favorite part of myself was taken away.
*thankfully he still had on the black skintight body suit he had on under his robes and the black combat boots with spikes on them, he moved his wings and realized that they were a shimmery black instead of gold and his hands had black claws with blackened skin, his main annoyance was that his hair was as long as Lilith’s and when he put his hands in his hair it felt like he now horns on his head, he then saw the spider like demon and the one eyed woman from the fight at the hotel run up to him*
Angel Dust: Hey, are you alright? My name is Angel Dust and this is my friend Cherri Bomb. What is your name?
Adam: Ada…….. Adaline.
Cherri Bomb: Cool Name, he live at the Hazbin Hotel, we saw you passed out and we want to help you.
Angel Dust: We can get you something nice to wear and maybe you can stay at the hotel, Charlie would like more guests.
*before Adam could object he realized that going to the hotel would be the best option for him*
Adam: That sounds nice, thank you.
*Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb took Adam to a mall where they started to look at outfits for him, he got a look at himself and he had to admit that he made a good looking chick, he also had horns a lot like Lilith’s but they were deep purple instead of red, they picked out a black tank top with a sheer black long sleeved shirt as well as a choker with gold spikes on it, then they picked out a purple plaid mini skirt thankfully the black combat boots still fit, but now he realized that from the knees down his legs had thick fur the same color as his hair and they ended with black hooves*
Cherri Bomb: You want to get a hair cut unless you like that whole Rapunzel thing?
Adam: I definitely want to get a hair cut.
*Adam was dragged to a salon and they allowed him to get whatever hair cut he wanted which was a nice change from Heaven, he had his hair cut to the length of his mid back and had part of his head shaved leaving stubble there, he had to admit that if he met Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb under different circumstances, he would have befriended them*
Angel Dust: That looks bad ass, we should go to the hotel so you can meet everyone and get a room,
*Adam had to hope that now that he had a woman’s body no one at the hotel would recognize him*
Tumblr media
(The hairstyle Adam/Adaline got)
Adam walked into the hotel, he had to admit that it actually wasn't that bad looking on the inside. They rebuilt it very fast, he wasn't sure how long he was out for but it hasn't been that long.
Angel: Hey Charlie! We brought someone!
Charlie poked her head out from around the corner and squealed when she saw Adam. To think not that long ago she stabbed a fucking trident into his shoulder.
Charlie: Hi! I'm Charlie and this is the Hazbin Hotel! May I ask your name?
Lucifer: Charlie where did you put the-
The words died in his throat when his eyes landed on the beautiful sinner standing in the lobby. Lucifer might still have technically been a married man but he wasn't fucking blind.
And Lilith probably wasn't coming back....
Adam: It's Adaline.
She even had a beautiful name....
Charlie: Welcome Adaline! Oh, this is my dad Lucifer.
Adam shifted his gaze to Lucifer who was staring at him, not necessarily at his face either. Was he looking at Adams tits? Well, when you're at eye level.....
Adam gave a tight smile: Hi.
He still remembered this guy beating his ass and calling him names, mocking him and everything.
Asshole. The nerve to look at him like that.
Lucifer: Hi.... Hi! Welcome, I hope you'll enjoy your stay.
Adam: I'm sure I will.
Charlie: You've already met Angel and Cherri. Over there is Husk the bartender, our maid Nifty and Alastor.
Alastor grinned widely as he approached Adam, not missing the once over he gave him.
Ew.
Alastor: Pleasure to be meeting you miss Adaline. As hotel manager don't be afraid to ask me for anything.
Adam could see out of the corner of his eye Lucifer glaring at the radio demon.
Adam: Thank you.
Charlie: I'll show you to your room!
Adam followed Charlie, he was given a room on the sixth floor. She left to let him settle in. Adam sat on the bed and sighed.
How was he going to fix this?

Chaggie headcanons?
Honestly thank you for this question! I don't think about these 2 nearly enough for how adorable they are as the main couple <3
First off, Vaggie definitely got her bow from Charlie sometime after she fell.
I mean, she didn't have it during the flashbacks and I feel like it was her first gift from Charlie (meaning it is very important to her, hence why we always see her wearing it).
First and best gift she ever got, she'll cherish it forever (along with the shrunken head Charlie gave her in episode 7, which is also definitely placed somewhere safe in their room).
Vaggie did not know about Charlie being Lucifer's daughter when they first met. If some of Hell's citizens don't even recognize her, how would an angel? For a while, she just believed she was a relatively kind sinner who just so happened to have big dreams.
Charlie mentioned her status as princess off-handedly once, and Vaggie had to make sure she heard that right. The demon who had saved her and took her in? Daughter of the Morningstar?? This reaction didn't go unnoticed, leading to Charlie trying to say it's really not a big deal. The princess is modest too? What's not to love about this girl?
Vaggie thinks Charlie's dreams and optimism are incredibly endearing, but is afraid that she'll get those dreams crushed if she's not too careful, so she tries to keep her in the realm of realistic expectations. Emphasis on tries.
Charlie, assuming Vaggie was a sinner who had recently died, read her the story we hear in the intro of episode 1 to give her backstory on how Hell came to be and why the exterminations happen to begin with (probably during or shortly before talking to her about the Happy Hotel idea). This is of course, the first time Vaggie has heard Hell's side of the story, which only furthers her resentment towards Heaven.
Charlie is obviously big on hugs and cuddles, and even though Vaggie wouldn't be the one to initiate that kind of thing (in public, it's a whole different story when it's just the two of them), she loves being wrapped in her girlfriend's arms, where it's warm and safe.
This is pretty much canon, but also true and important; Charlie wasn't really mad about Vaggie being a former exorcist angel. The only reason she even questioned her loyalty was because Vaggie lied about the situation. If she had told her before, she would never have doubted her for a second. Charlie loves her and the last thing she wants is for her to feel unsafe/uncomfortable talking to her about something, especially with the kind of work they're trying to do at the hotel.

“HELLO!!!! And welcome to the Golden Shores Beach Day Awards Ceremony! Today we’ve had some AWESOME competitions running throughout the day, some that weren’t even planned, but we were so impressed we just had to shout a couple of you out!” -🐭
“This feels similar to what the kids would call bullying-” -✨
“But in a kind and rewarding way of course because we’re so proud of everyone’s joyous nature today!” -🐭
*Ellen rolled her eyes. Today was a shit show and anyone with eyes could tell that. Someone literally died and the High Seraphim who was supposed to be doing awards was no where to be found. Not to mention that… person Seraphim Adina was running around with for half the day was definitely a sinner. And honestly, there were several other halos that were suspect throughout the day as well! Calling attention to it would have caused a panic though so she let it slide but seriously? Joyous nature Penelope?*
“There were several moments we’ll be highlighting, so keep those clappers warm and ready to get to applauding! Today was a great day!” -🐭
“First we’d like to congratulate all of the sandcastle builders. There were 76 entries this year! Thats the most we’ve ever had compete during this event, and the competition was hot! With over six thousand votes turned in, it’s a surprise we even got the votes all tallied up in time!” -🐲
“Would have been a lot harder if you hadn’t set half of them on fire, but what do I know?” -✨
“Please, when you’ve been called, come to the podium to be recognized and receive your award. So without further ado, third place belongs to… number 34, Dahlia!” -🐲
“Our second place was a tight win, only a little over thirty more votes seperately these two placements! Second place was… number 33, Delia!” -🐥
“Our first place winner was an absolute landslide. This sand castle was entered a bit later in the day but still managed to get quite a lot of attention for their scenes from the skies! This castle was a masterpiece coming from an unsuspected source. With a tallied vote of 1256 votes, the winner of the sandcastle building competition is… number 68, Shamira!” -🐭
*Ellen remembered counting votes and laughing as she sorted through the paper slips. At least a third of them were all in Emily’s flowing cursive. But honestly, she loved Emily and if she was willing to turn in over 300 votes for the guardians castle, she would gladly count them. Even if said guardian would have won without any of them*

Milan sighed, flopping onto her dorm couch.
“Finally fucking done…”
Her dorm was absolutely sparkling, a bottle of absinthe and wine on the table along with crystal-clear glasses for her and Sarai.
She checked the clock on her nightstand. 5:47 PM, and Sarai was definitely the type to be early. Good thing she was dressed in something that wasn’t entirely insufferable, and even made the effort to slick her hair back a bit more than usual.
A knock at the door made her sigh and push herself up, shake the tiny bit of nervousness off, and open the door.
Sarai hoped the dark cloak she draped themself in was enough to disguise themself. It was humiliating enough that they had agreed to meeting up with Milan. The rest of Heaven certainly didn’t have to know about it.
Given all their powers, they would’ve fashioned themselves a more discreet form to sneak into the Exorcist’s dorm, if they hadn’t already been so frazzled by their argument with Timpani…and Lute…and Ava. They hardly even remembered that they were supposed to meet up with Milan, so they quickly threw on the first thing they could find and prayed no one would recognize them.
They were going to see Milan, collect the money she owed them, and leave. That should be quick and painless.
They shuddered slightly as the door clicked open.

Adam x Lute - First meeting in Eden
Adam chose his exorcists, but if he and Lute had already met before in Eden? I loved the character of Adam so much, he is very deep and full of things to say yet, his narrative arc is not closed and his emotional bond with Lute is wonderful, it definitely brings out his best and best side. He must came back in the show, as I say feel that his character arc is not closed. Hope evry Adam fan and Lute X Adam will enjoy this things that I made.
First meeting in Eden
Garden of Eden. Adam and Lilith have just been created, but they don't get along at all and do nothing but argue. Adam turns offended while Lilith escapes and runs away. Lute comes down from the sky because she is curious to see the first man, so she flies through the garden but Lucifer is also there, so she decides to land and hide behind a tree. “What am I doing? I…I shouldn't be here.” she thinks. She is sweaty and her heart beats hard, but as soon as she places her gaze not covered, she scrutinizes Adam. Adam is sitting on a rock, he is naked, beautiful, perfect but sad, very sad. Lute is struck by such beauty and blushes.
“So this is the first man.”
Meanwhile Adam complains “That damned female never listens to me! I fucking hate her! I do everything I can to please her and she rejects me!” Lute sees that Adam is crying out. “I can't accept it, I can't see him being like this.” she thinks, then she decides to reveal herself to him. Adam looks up and is struck by his beauty and stops crying.
Adam “You are an angel…but, but you are a woman.” Lute “Hello first man. Yes, there are also female angels among us.” Adam “Well you know, the only one who visits us often is always Lucifer. I didn't think there were even females among you. My name is Adam anyway.” Lute “Adam, what a beautiful name. So tell me Adam, why are you so sad? Something wrong?" Adam “What's wrong? That I, Adam, I'm never enough for that ungrateful female! She's always complaining and criticizing, I can't stand her anymore." Lute approaches Adam, stroking his back. “But you are Adam, you are the first man, she must respect you and be grateful to be able to have you by her side. She doesn't realize how lucky she is!" Adam sprang to his feet. “You're fucking right! I am Adam, the first man! Everything will come from me, I need respect and I will have it!” Lute smiles “Of course the first man deserves it!”
Adam “Oh Lute, it would be nice if women were all like you angels! I feel better now and I thank you. I will make sure he respects me!”
Lute “Happy to have been of help to the first man.”.
Adam as he walks away. "Yes. You know, I also hope to see you again.”
Lute makes a sad face, then she thinks "I also wish it could have lasted longer Adam.". Lute while she is returning and flying carefree collides with Lucifer "And what are you doing here?" Lucifer was perplexed "I'm asking you the same question! I was checking that everything was fine as usual." Lute "Me too." Lucifer "Actually, I saw you as you approached Adam." Lute "But you were very close to Lilith!"
Lucifer "Okay, listen...neither of us saw anything." Lute "Clear" Lucifer "Good." Lute thinks “He knows I shouldn't be here and yet he's letting me go” she arrives at the gates of heaven to look sadly at the clouds beyond the gate “I hope Adam is okay”.
A lot of time passes and Lucifer is expelled with Lilith, the two make Eve eat the apple. Adam eventually became the first soul welcomed into heaven. Adam becomes an angel. Sera's office. Sera “Now that you are leader of the exorcists you can choose from our best fighting angels.” Evening shows the row of exterminating angels. Lute meets Adam's gaze and is afraid of being discovered, Adam recognizes her immediately and with a pleased face points to her without thinking. Adam smile “How small the universe is...” Sera “What's happening Adam?” Adam “It happens that I have chosen! There she is, the sexiest one. I really want that badass bitch over there! She is perfect! " Sera rolls her eyes at Adam's response while Lute tries to keep herself composed even though she feels uncomfortable while her linemate, Agatha glares at her full of envy. Adam “Even the one who looks at her badly, but yes. I want both bitches. They are perfect.”. Once outside Sera's office, Adam takes off his helmet and looks at Lute "I knew I'd see you again." Lute tried to avoid it. Adam “No. Don't do that, look at me." Lute takes courage and looks at him, Adam winks “It's our secret.” Lute blushes. “Lucky bitch who saw the first man. You are so sweet.” concludes Adam.
The start of a fan series I'm working on and writing the script. This part will become a future fan animated video, collaboration with @kimtrik96

Random Pride, Envy, Wrath Headcanons
just gonna do the main girls for this one, a few quick thoughts I've had on their personality as I've been working
Lute:
All Exorcists are given a purpose when they are created, which is usually just ‘to be an Exorcist’ but Lute and Vaggie were given unique purposes which is why they tend to be more impressive specimen. Lute's purpose was to be ‘The Perfect Soldier', a concept which defined much of her personality and skills.
Lute is by far the most physically capable of all known Exorcists with physical strength and durability to rival a lesser Overlord, though she is considered rather slow in terms of dexterity and flight speed
As part of being the perfect soldier, Lute is very quick to pick up new forms of combat and can become a master of any weapon or fighting style with minimal training time
In contrast, Lute is incredibly slow to pick up non-combat skills but her stubborn nature means she will dedicate years or even decades to master specific skills. Most of the skills she has cultivated were to suit Adam's interests as such she is a good singer, can play several varieties of string instruments and is unbeatable at the Royal Game of Ur (though she mostly lets Adam win)
Cooking is Lute's ultimate bane, in 256 years of life she has only mastered a single recipe
Lute is not afraid of fire but grows increasingly uncomfortable around open flames for reasons she doesn't understand
A good soldier should be especially perceptive in order to recognize threats, Lute has hawk like vision and is very good at picking up even the smallest details in the rush of combat.
Despite her repeated insistence that she is not French, Lute does enjoy French cuisine. Her favorite type of cheese is Brie and though she's not particularly big on sweets she will fight someone over a Creme Brulee.
Her favorite kind of meat is venison, just not in the gross roadkill way Alastor eats it.
Charlie:
It's been touched on in the fic but Charlie actually has a pretty volatile temper that she struggles to control, which is why it's pretty common to see her true form poking through whenever she's upset.
Because of this temper, it's not unheard of for Charlie to get into fights if she gets really, really angry but she prefers to remain a pacifist as much as she can due to the fact that Charlie is deathly afraid of actually hurting or possibly killing someone if she loses control of her powers.
Charlie's primary form is what she believes to be the perfect blend of ‘almost human but not quite’ she wants Sinners to be comfortable around her and believes showing too much of her demonic traits would put them off. She is capable of looking fully human, but thinks it would remind Sinners too much of their past mortal lives.
Charlie adores human fantasy books and collects them. She finds the weird and unique ways that humans interpret magic and myth to be utterly fascinating and especially loves anything with a hopeful and uplifting tone, contrary wise she thinks Grimdark books are boring and dumb (she already live in Hell). She really wants to start a book club in the hotel.
Charlie was definitely a lot more of a spoiled princess in her late teen years, spending most of her time in the lower rings, enjoying the luxury of her family's wealth and position, partying with Demon nobility, and occasionally getting into trouble… definitely didn't have anything to do with her parents often being too busy with politics or personal projects and Charlie acting out to get attention or anything. These days Charlie dislikes this period of her past and regrets not becoming involved with trying to help the Sinners earlier.
Seviathan definitely encouraged this former side of Charlie and often brought out the worst in her.
Incredibly physically affectionate, Charlie loves giving and receiving public displays of affection and tends to try to spoil Vaggie with gifts whenever Vaggie let's her.
Vaggie
At her creation, she was given the purpose ‘to be a Tactician’ because while Lute was an absolute machine in combat, even Adam had to admit her ability to organize the Exorcist Army was dogshit.
Vaggie is naturally inclined towards organization, can process information quickly and has excellent memory retention.
Vaggie is definitely the smart one
The duty of a tactician isn't to take the lead but rather to inform and advise. She rarely takes the initiative on projects and tends to gravitate towards the position of second in command.
Grade A nerd, but she hides it fairly well. Vaggie discovered Anime when it first came to be and has been an avid fan of the art form ever since. She used to watch it with Lute (who mostly just liked to watch the fights) and has since managed to convince Charlie to join her.
Used to really enjoyed Real Time Strategy games but now playing them makes her feel guilty about her role in the Exorcists, so she has managed to fill the void with City builders and business sim games
After her encounter with Carmilla, she learned that her natural dexterity translates really well into dance and visits the Overlord once a week for lessons.
In terms of strength, Vaggie is solidly average by Exorcist standards, making her only a bit stronger than a normal human but she makes up for this by being one of the fastest and most dexterous. Especially in terms of flight, Vaggie held records for her speed and maneuverability. This is why it was such a tragedy that Vaggie lost her wings, though with her new wings she is rapidly regaining her speed and actually thinks she might be able to surpass her top speed given some time and practice.
Very easily embarrassed by public affection, won’t say no but she blushes so hard you could use her like a flashlight

—it's a love story
↳ chongyun, fanan/bonanus, lyney, wriothesley, and la signora × reader (separately) (royalty au!)
↳ genre: fluff, hijinks, a bit of crack(chongyun), hurt/comfort(wriothesley and maybe lyney's too), fantasy elements(signora) | wordcount: 1.8k | warnings: reader being a bit presumptuous and assuming(fanan)
↳ notes: while writing i did realize that some of these scenarios could happen even without the medieval setting, but i think everyone needs to imagine their favorite characters in a royalty au. at least once. for the aesthetic
Tumblr media
—chongyun
if anyone's ever watched gravity falls, think of that episode where dipper explores the northwest mansion with pacifica. it goes something like that
your family, as well as even the servants around the castle, grew wary of things that went bump in the night over the last few years
eventually, they called in an exorcist to get rid of anything with malicious intent
his name was chongyun— the best of the best in liyue
it was said even the most gruesome of evils steered clear of his presence. and when you first met, you thought it was no wonder
with his icy stare and his imposing ceremonial greatsword, he looked almost surreal as the ghosts themselves
you were tasked with representing your family. you and the exorcist were about the same age, so your parents thought it would help make him more comfortable
once you got to talk to him personally though, that assumption immediately fell flat on its face
as you went through the palace, his coldness didn't seem to waver, no matter how much you tried to lighten the mood. his tone when speaking (limited to one word replies and/or lengthy explanations about evil spirits) was clipped and entirely professional
it didn't take you long to resign to the fact that you were probably annoying him, and so you stopped
chongyun, however, was left stuck asking himself why you'd suddenly started acting so stiffly
as you forlornly inspected an ancient vase, he wondered if he should apologize for.. something? was he being too cold? he hoped not
though chongyun did worry that his long time crush on you would have him combust if he ever stood an inch too close
besides, he was on a job. professionalism, chongyun. professionalism
just ignore the unwanted whisper of the xingqiu devil on his shoulder urging him to talk to you
he could do that later
maybe. hopefully
his friend would have definitely been having a field day if he saw him now, fumbling over himself about whether or not to initiate a conversation
you, however, had absolutely no clue what chongyun was glaring at the wall about. the mural maybe? was that cursed? you sidled up to chongyun's side and voiced your question to him
if you knew him any better, you'd recognize the vague pink creeping up his cheeks
—bonanus / fanan
you'd initially thought she was a.. strange choice to be assigned as your personal knight
to be honest, you used to think she was one of the nurses. you often saw her in the infirmary, her deep blue hair and pretty smile catching your eye quite easily
fanan's frame was slender, but with the way she carried herself, anyone might guess she was a member of the royal household like you
you couldn't imagine her in all that clunky armor, swinging a hefty sword against the other warriors. you had thought she was too soft-hearted for that
that was a misjudgement on your part
the first spar you witnessed her partake in was when she was training one of her subordinates
the first thing you were wrong about was her weapon— fanan didn't have a sword, no
she had two
long, elegant twin dao sword with carvings of the waves and ocean legends from the hilt to the iron of the blades. the metal was such a beautiful silver it could pass for blue under a certain light
the second thing you were wrong about?
fanan had no use for armor, apparently
she flowed as easily as water, practically dancing around her opponent in a blur of blue
her blades, the seafoam and her azure apparel, the current; she was a tsunami crashing into the tide
her opponent fell before a minute passed
"you've improved." yet she smiled at them, as sweet as ever
you had to hold yourself back from voicing your bafflement. improved? at this rate, you felt you might as well could have fired every other knight at the palace
"i noticed you stop to watch earlier."
it was only after fully checking in on her subordinate did she ask for your thoughts
"what did you think, your grace? was my performance to your liking?"
you could only blink at her
"y..your grace?"
"i—" you cleared your throat. "um.. yes. yes, it was. more than satisfactory, i think. you are quite skilled, sir bonanus"
then she beamed at your words
your heart fluttered
—lyney
in lyney's words, you were a noble of many treasures, and a bouquet of even brighter blossoms. you sometimes found his riveting manner of speech a bit difficult to understand, but that statement was thankfully not one of them
you thought the notion of having a jester was a bit silly. but you didn't have any other way to describe him either
you supposed magician worked well enough
to start, the court of fontaine was simply enamored with him. who wouldn't be?
a charming fellow from humble origins, rising up with nothing but the little mora in his pocket and the support of his family to keep him afloat. and he'd made it. in no time at all, he was a regular presence on the stage of the opera epiclese.
and while the court of fontaine was enraptured with the magician, lyney himself found himself enraptured by you
he didn't believe in love at first sight, but he knew when he was smitten
you came to every show. every night. he even caught a glimpse of your watching eyes during one of his smaller performances
the immediate night after, the opera's crowd was in complete shambles by the end of his tricks, when a single rainbow rose had been thrown into the crowd by his very hand
it had landed in your lap, just as planned
the look you shared that night was the talk of the entire kingdom for weeks
as for you.. well, he made you laugh. what else was there to say?
soon enough, lyney was giving out backstage passes (pass-es, he told lynette. but she saved him the trouble and requested you to come by herself)
you grew close quickly. lyney seemed like an easy person to get close to, after all. he was a devoted suitor as well; never passing up every opportunity to try and impress you or tell you how grateful he was to you for even looking his way
every performance after that concluded with a rainbow rose in your hand. sometimes even several
your visits to the house of the hearth (previously only for business) increased in number
so when the order came from father to get even closer to you and sleuth about your estate and properties, lyney's heart just about stopped in his chest
—wriothesley
you knew each other for as long as you could remember
he was just a random servant boy in the castle that liked keeping you company. you, in turn, had no complaints. he was fun, if not unpredictable, and a welcome interruption to the rigid palace routine
to him, you were like an angel. he called it the luck of the gods themselves that you wanted to play with him at all when they were kids
with the crown on your head as a halo, the cadence of your voice was your song. you always smelled so nice, and your hands were so soft. your smile, however, was the most stunning. the sight of it almost gave him a sense of pride, knowing that more often than not, it had appeared because of him
you were inseparable, and everyone hated it. especially your parents
it was almost ironic. of all the people to have figured out how the two of you felt about each other first, it had to be the ones that needed you apart the most
he didn't exactly help his own case, what with his smart mouth and knack for getting in trouble. it came as no surprise that he was at the receiving end of someone's scolding quite often. you just hadn't expected it to get so far
the trial went by you in a blur of whispers
"i always knew he was trouble" "what a dreadful child" "how unfortunate"
you couldn't sit still, practically leaning over the rail to look at him. you wanted to snap at your family gossiping behind you. you wanted to jump over the rail and run to your best friend. your only friend. you wanted to yell at him. you wanted to comfort him. you wanted to grab him by the hand and run off somewhere no one could catch you
and he wasn't even looking at you
if only you'd known what he was thinking in those moments. that the mere sight of you at the edge of his vision had him near tears
"i'll come back to you. i'll come back." he repeated to himself every night after that before he fell asleep, dreaming of you
years passed. wriothesley never forgot
now the duke of the fortress he was exiled to, he ran back to the overworld the first chance he had
as soon as he saw you on the streets of the city, he knew
and as soon as you caught sight of him, staring longingly after you across the street, you did too
—la signora
the signora lohefalter was a mysterious woman
the fair lady. an esteemed member of the snezhnayan court. from the way she dressed, the way she carried herself, the way she spoke, it could be said she was the very definition of the word 'luxuriant'.
between the two of you, it had started with a spark
on her end, a spark of interest
you were a bold one. whether you were a lowly servant, a fellow noble, or somewhere in between, you had a certain look in your eye. one of unyielding fire
it drew her in, this mirror of her own disposition
the court was often a rather desolate place to be. the people flew by and drifted off, colder than the wind. your heat was tantalizing to her. and eventually, she learned to crave your warmth
on your end however, the spark was rather literal
witchcraft was forbidden in all but written law. so when you caught the slightest lick of light escaping the signora's ungloved hands, you weren't quite sure what to do
she'd caught your gaze with an amused smile
"you look like you've seen a ghost, y/n."
not quite
it was an odd game of cat and mouse. it was as if the mouse bared fangs, and the cat was left to do nothing but scramble to catch it
it might take a while longer for her to accept her own feelings if you weren't a noble, or draped in finery from head to toe
but when she does, she claims the feelings with conviction. no matter how much longer it will take for the two of you to end your little game, it's clear what's going on to any outsider watching the two of you
maybe it wasn't so much that you wanted her caught. maybe you just wanted to know why. you've voiced this curiosity to her once, in one of your attempts to obtain a confession
she smiled again, in that coy, oh-so-innocent way that she did. she'd tell you, but.. well, you already knew, didn't you? what was there to tell?
and could you really blame her if she enjoyed the way you looked as you chased her down?

Hello, how are you? Could I request Blue Exorcist Lucifer x human female with angelic powers, enemies to lovers? Please and thank you!
OMG YES! thanks for the Request ❤️
Lucifer x Human! Reader with Angélic powers
Genre: Headcanons
Reader: female
Warnings: enemies to Lovers dynamic, hints of illiness(from Lucifer), slight Manipulation?(Its fucking Lucifer, what do You expect?)Illuminati's,
SPOILERS!!!
OK! for some context:
reader's family is VERY old in the Vatican hierarchy, almost as old as MyodHa itself.
They are recognized for having abilities similar to Biblical angels, they could exorcise powerful demons on their own, etc.
However, this came with rigorous (and sometimes inhumane) training since the youngest members of the clan (last name) were children.
That's where it comes from (reader).
The (last name) family is going through a moment of crisis, they no longer have as many resources or exorcists as before, so they focused all the attention they could on (reader) so that she would be outstanding.
causing several traumas in the process due to not having had a very stable childhood or family...
but generating one of the most powerful exorcists today.
To be honest, I think (reader) would only accept the faith of the exorcist job because she literally has no other alternative. What else is she supposed to do with her life if they didn't teach her anything else? Kind of mindset.
On the other hand, Lucifer probably knew about her beforehand (before the reader knew about him), either because of Shima's espionage or because of the possible encounters that (the reader) has had with his agents.
and you could tell he's intrigued.
I have seen people from the (last name) family work before, but definitely (reader) was quite remarkable and above all it was obvious that she was quite...dissatisfied.
It was a good opportunity to have a powerful ally.
Although it definitely wasn't easy.
Let's say that (reader) meets him in a similar way to Yukio, in the rescue of Izumo.
After taking down one of Gedoin's largest test subjects, (reader) is left quite tired.
She is ready to go after the others when Lucifer appears.
Like Yukio, he gets scared and tries to use one of his family's techniques, but Lucifer doesn't allow it.
She has so much potential, so much power, and she lets those of the True Cross control her? For a worthless cause?
Lucifer knows what he is doing, he attacks (reader's) biggest doubts. Even if she escapes, those questions end up resonating too much with (reader).
Is it really worth it? Being the war dog of people like Mephisto who isn't even trustworthy? Is it worth pleasing the people of the Vatican when they haven't made any real changes? Is it worth so much suffering and entertainment if this is what do you earn?
(reader) is trying SO hard not to give in to those kinds of ideas, both because the exorcist job is the only thing she has and because she really doesn't know what to do now.
You could say that it is something gradual, that little by little (reader) loses conviction in the True Cross and begins to replant things.
She applies a "Geto move", basically.
She is increasingly distant from her classmates, who, since they do not understand her, distance her even further and do not know what to do with her.
(reader) continues to perform well in her missions, but she looks more and more lost.
in turn, Shima monitors her to report the "progress in her recruitment" to Lucifer.
although to be honest, every time (the reader) sees Shima she tells him to go to hell, and thanks to her angelic abilities, she can tell when he's around, so she leaves him without much material to work with.
It honestly frustrates Lucifer a little, but he can't force (reader) to join the Illuminati if he REALLY wants a reliable ally. no matter how much his stubbornness bothers you.
(if she has a new encounter with Lucifer, same story, (reader) rejects the proposal but becomes more and more petulant, with more doubts).
Funny thought I had while doing this, this dynamic reminded me of when Kylo Ren tells Rey that "she needs a teacher" and she epically leaves him in Seen. This is Lucifer's dynamic with (reader) during this stage 🤣
I don't think it's until (SPOILERS) Yukio joins the Illuminati that (reader) already has a mental breakdown and questions everything (plus if she and Yukio were close, either because they had training together or because of circumstances Similar).
and obviously Lucifer knows about this and takes full advantage.
Let's say he intercepts her just when she wants time alone, she doesn't want to be with anyone, she doesn't want to deal with anyone, especially not him right now, but then she realizes...
Does she really have someone?
The true cross was her entire life, her family only trained her for that and they don't see beyond that...
Lucifer, on the other hand, sees her in a light of fascination.
He sees (reader's) value both as an asset and in her intentions, and he doesn't want her to continue wasting them on a cause that isn't worth it.
(closes scene with epic handshake xd).
If we look at the current dynamics, even if they are partners (and later lovers) there is still some friction. especially on the part of ( reader) who wants to take Lucifer out of his mind from time to time.
(reader) quickly becomes an active member of the Illuminati's as soon as she has the opportunity, whether doing missions, helping with investigations, giving information she has about the academy, etc.
and Lucifer respects that.
Little by little a relationship of mutual respect is forming, something like that.
(reader) can see through several of Lucifer's tricks, but at the same time she surprises herself at how genuine he becomes from time to time with his plan.
(reader) wants to learn more from Lucifer and Lucifer wants to learn more from (reader), so from there they begin to open up even a little more in, for example, the skills section.
If you've seen my Angel!reader work, you'll know that Lucifer has some particular interest in (reader's) seemingly divine abilities.
Now that he has the opportunity, he wants to know everything he can about these abilities, how they affect demons, how he uses them, etc.
but at least he is fair and answers the questions that the reader herself has, even if he doesn't have an answer as such, he tries to give her a satisfactory one.
If we look at the relationship fully, at first glance it can be seen more as a mutually beneficial alliance.
(reader) becomes Lucifer's main spokesperson and in a way his confidant, with whom he plans the next movements of the Illuminati, and above all with whom he does not have (so much) problem being affected by his illness.
They allow themselves to be more open and affectionate when they are alone (or well, reader, Lucifer usually refers to her as his "partner" or by some nickname that shows CLEAR favoritism).
They support each other in the work environment, as I already said, (reader) is Lucifer's eyes and ears where he cannot be and does not let him remain unaware.
(reader) is like that "little bird" that gives you away to your mother in a certain way (Lucifer xd). Extra puntls if that's one of your nicknames for (female reader).
Even if (reader) has much more developed powers than most of the Illuminati, Lucifer is not willing to take any risks, it is practically standard protocol that if things get ugly they have to secure the "commander's second in command" regardless how many losses that generates.
Lucifer can replace them and get more, but he can't get another (reader).
At the same time, he worries a lot about (the reader's) health and that angelic powers may have repercussions on his fragile human body, so check-ups are a mandatory NECESSITY for Lucifer's peace of mind, whether after a mission or simply if (reader) is acting strange.
Don't get me wrong, he knows (reader) can kick most exorcists' asses, but he won't let any harm come in the first place. Better safe than sorry.
(although the fact that he lets you go on missions is a great advance compared to other readers who he doesn't even let out of the Illuminati/dominus base☠️)
He would DEFINITELY rather die than let those of the true cross (especially Mephisto) get their hands on (reader), he knows what would happen if that happened, so we give him the pass to be paranoid, just this once.
I think that in general it is easier for him to see this type of (reader) as an EQUAL, not only because of the fascination that he generated, but also because he knew how to EARN his respect (apart from the fact that he expects everyone in the organization to treat reader as such, any lack of respect can be a direct pass to the testing room).
Apart from the fact that it doesn't just let her focus on work, it (forces) her to have a hobby or participate in some "stimulating activity" so that (the reader) can regulate her stress levels.
Something that remains in almost all readers, Lucifer likes to listen to (the reader) read, it can be anything, but in general listening to her helps him distract himself from the pain, and that is a GREAT relief (for everyone).
In general, there are its turbulent moments, but Lucifer would rather be consumed by his illness than let (the reader) suffer in any way.

What if Carmilla and her kids were angels?
I only say this because of one detail in her design - the "wings" masking her eyes. From what I can tell, the only other person with a subtle bird design like this is Vaggie, whose eyelashes are feathers and hair sweeps over her face like a wing.
Carmilla also has the telltale gray skin of exorcist angels, which is once again a very rare, if not exclusive, trait.
Her being a fallen angel would explain how she and both of her kids (who appear young) ended up in Hell in what is inferred to be the same timeframe. Because really, how else do kids go to Hell with their mom? She definitely didn't have them there.
She's also the only one to recognize that Vaggie was an angel, which even Lucifer didn't realize (perhaps because he wasn't also an exorcist).
My working theory is that she and her daughters were an exorcists or worked for the exorcists to supply them with angelic weapons (meaning she is already proficient with arms and arms dealing by the time she makes it to Hell) but disagreed with Heaven's genocide, which is how they ended up being cast out.

devil to you, angel to me (what am i then)
Read on Ao3
Rating: Mature
Characters: Charlie Morningstar, Vaggie Minor Appearances: Razzle, Dazzle
Warnings: Broken Bones, Aftermath of Violence, Injury Recovery, Suicidal Thoughts, Death Wish, Hurt No Comfort, Non-Graphic Violence The suicidal feelings/death wish are from Vaggie, starting in Charlie's second POV and continuing into Vaggie's following that. There's no way to get around it due to it being the source of the fight, unfortunately. I recommend skipping this one if you're sensitive to such topics.
There is a summary of the story in the end notes on Ao3, for those curious/wanting to know more of what they're getting into.
Word Count: 1571
It was day number three of living with the strange demon who seemed intent on nursing her back to health, and Vaggie was... confused. The demon defied all of Vaggie’s expectations – everything she had ever known about her kind. She hadn’t asked for anything in return for... taking care of Vaggie; not even for the bandages she had used to wrap her eye in the alley. She hadn’t tried to take a pound of flesh for Vaggie getting vomit on her pants. She left Vaggie alone when Vaggie snapped at her, and steamrolled over all of her attempts to even hint at payment.
(Help like this couldn’t be free. Not here. Not from one of them.)
And it wasn’t like the demon was just a sinner. No; if Vaggie had to guess, the demon who she now lived with was one of the ones called an overlord, or at least close to one. The bedroom Vaggie was being kept in could only be described as opulent , with its high ceiling and large windows. The ensuite had a tub that almost rivalled the one all exorcist buildings were fitted with, and the decor almost reminded Vaggie of the few times she had been within the city gates aside from the colour scheme. Plus, from the quick looks out the door Vaggie snuck whenever the demon left for the night, the building they were in was huge. From her doorway alone, Vaggie could count at least six other rooms. If the demon keeping her wasn’t an overlord herself, she was definitely one’s favoured soul. There was just... one problem with that, one thing that pointed to her being an overlord outright.
Favoured souls usually had no power of their own, and therefore, no servants – except for maybe an imp. Nothing like the two flying goat creatures that followed her hostess like ducklings. The thought that Vaggie was at the mercy of an overlord...
...was terrifying.
Vaggie had only had the misfortune to come across an overlord once. It was a sinner so twisted by power that she could barely recognize it as something once-human, even more than the other sinners. It had taken the combined efforts of Vaggie, Lute, and several others to finally bring that... thing down.
(She could still remember the discordant snap of Lute’s wing fracturing as she was thrown at the ground too fast to correct or catch herself; it was the only year Adam had ever had the highest kill count, before or since.)
Charlie hummed as she prepared Vaggie’s lunch. She still wasn’t used to cooking, not really, but Razzle was a reassuring presence at her shoulder, correcting her when she tried to add too much of something, and Dazzle was always ready with whatever she needed before she even realized she needed it; with them at her side, the process went pretty smoothly.
(She pretended not to notice Razzle and Dazzle sneaking bites whenever they thought she wasn’t looking – there was more than enough food to go around.)
Charlie stepped back, hands on her hips to observe the tray. It wouldn’t win any awards any time soon, but it had a lot of protein which would be good for Vaggie’s healing process! Probably. Maybe she should actually call Auntie Belphagor, or maybe Bee, to figure out what would help the best. At the very least, it probably wouldn’t do Vaggie any harm.
Razzle churred inquisitively.
“Huh?” Charlie shook her head. “Oh, I’m just thinking, Razzle. Do you think I should call Auntie Belphagor and see if there’s anything specific I should be feeding her..?”
Razzle shrugged, clicking.
Charlie sighed. “No, I shouldn’t bother her, you’re right. I’ll just... wait and see. If Vaggie doesn’t seem to be getting better though...”
Dazzle hrrred, shaking the bottle of painkillers imported directly from Sloth.
“Just one today,” Charlie said, picking up the tray of food after Dazzle shook out the requisite one pill. “Thanks, guys.”
Dazzle bonked against her left shoulder while Razzle bonked her right.
“I better get this up to her. I hear routines are good for limiting stress...”
Vaggie looked up from the paper she was sketching on as humming approached from beyond the door, a surefire way to know a meal was on its way.
(She had never been much of a drawer, but there wasn’t much to do in her the room.)
Like clockwork, there was a sharp knock on her door shortly after she had noticed the humming. The demon never just barged in, even though there wasn’t much Vaggie could do to stop her.
“Vaggie?” a familiar voice called. “I have lunch for you.”
Vaggie debated with herself for a moment, before calling out, “It’s open.”
The demon entered, balancing a tray of food as she did so. The two little goats were absent from her side, surprisingly.
“Just set it down,” Vaggie said, turning her attention back to her doodling.
The demon listened, setting it on top of the nightstand, but she didn’t leave like she normally did when Vaggie indicated disinterest. Vaggie sighed and set her pencil down. That probably meant she would have to... talk to the demon, to get her to leave.
(She wasn’t going to eat with the demon in the room with her. Who knows if she’d be allowed to finish?)
The demon cleared her throat. “There’s, uh, a painkiller with it,” she said quietly. “How... how are you feeling, overall?”
“Fine,” Vaggie said.
“Your eye doesn’t hurt?” the demon pressed.
Vaggie grit her teeth, biting back her instinctive response. “Not so much. The bite hurts the most, right now.”
The demon winced, glancing at where Vaggie’s arm – where one of the goats had bitten her that first day – was hidden under the sleeve of the too-big sweater she was wearing. “I’m sorry about that,” she said. “Razzle is just... protective. But everything else is... okay? Your back-”
Vaggie didn’t want to talk about her back, not when... not with a demon. Not with this demon.
“Why do you even care?” Vaggie snapped.
The demon flinched back. “I just – it looked really bad- I care!” she stuttered.
Vaggie gave her the coldest look she could muster. “You’re a demon,” she said.
Charlie resisted the urge to flinch again, but barely. The way Vaggie said the word demon reminded her of the way some sinners sneered princess at her.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t care,” she tried. “I-”
“Yes, it does! ” Vaggie exploded. “Demons can’t care! Because if you care, if demons care, then that means-” she cut herself off with a ragged gasp.
Charlie waited. It was clear that Vaggie had more that she wanted to say; Charlie could give her the space to say it, even if it hurt.
“Why do you care?” Vaggie asked again.
This time, as an actual question, instead of just aiming to hurt with her words. Her eyes were big, and wet, and she looked so utterly hopeless as she asked the question...
(Delicious, something inside of Charlie hissed.)
Charlie sighed. “I guess... it’s not that I care, exactly,” she hedged (even though she did, she cared so much for her people, but it was clear Vaggie wasn’t going to accept that right now). “It’s... everyone deserves help when they need it. And you needed help.”
Vaggie was very, very still when she answered. “I didn’t deserve help,” she said. “I should have died.”
Charlie reared back. “Don’t say that!”
“But it’s true!” Vaggie said, standing from the desk chair with enough force to knock it over. “I should have died in that alley!”
“Vaggie-” Charlie tried, but Vaggie wouldn’t hear it.
“They left me to-”
Vaggie cut herself off with a gasp again. She had nearly said too much in her outburst – she doubted the demon would keep helping her if she knew exactly what she was helping. She panted harshly.
“Vaggie...” the demon said.
Vaggie turned away, hugging herself. “I just... I don’t understand,” she said plaintively. “I deserved to die; why am I still alive...?”
A hand – demonic – tipped in familiar claws landed on her shoulder. The demon Charlie gently spun her around, looking down at Vaggie with compassion.
“It’s not about what we deserve ,” she said quietly, with such conviction that Vaggie didn’t even consider interrupting. “You don’t need to deserve help to get it, Vaggie. I’m helping you because I want to.”
“But why?!” Vaggie cried. “Why – why do you want to help me when-! When...”
(When Lute gouged her eye out, despite it being Vaggie who hauled her through the portal when her wing was broken. When Adam turned his back despite barely letting Vaggie out of his sight after the overlord. When her wings were stolen, cut away, banishing her forevermore to be surrounded by those she was meant to kill.
When Charlie was a demon, and Vaggie was something even worse than that.)
“I want to,” Charlie said again. “I... don’t like seeing people die if I can help it.”
Vaggie was silent, all of the fight leaving her at once. She deflated against Charlie, who cradled her against her chest like Vaggie was worth something even though she was worth less than nothing. What could Vaggie say in the face of such conviction?
Nothing. So she stayed silent, and let Charlie carry her to bed without protest, and ate her food even though it tasted like ash in her mouth.

Do you think Nene will meet Tsukasa or Amane in the red house? What do you think will happen? Personally, I think it might not be a good idea. Nene is not well and seeing one of the twins in that state is… dangerous.
I definitely agree it would be dangerous for nene to encounter either of the twins in their current states, but I find it really interesting that you mention nene’s current mindset as a risk factor! while she’s clearly (and understandably) upset by the changes she’s seen, I think she’s been making really rational, mature, and thoughtful decisions this arc, even if they were a little misguided or didn’t consider the whole scope of possibilities, as teru pointed out.
in terms of danger and mindset, I feel like nene will be in the most danger if she tries to give this amane or tsukasa the benefit of the doubt, as she’s inclined to do, due to her typically optimistic and trusting mindset, as well as her history with the yugis. she may also run into a possessed kou or mitsuba and run into a similar problem. so I think it could be her trusting, kind nature that gets her into danger this arc. though she is definitely making decisions in a way that's based on what's best for the other people she cares about, so i agree that's definitely something that these new, more possessed versions of the yugis could use against her if they (or whoever is in control of them) wanted to.
but nene's optimism and faith in others has always been a double edged sword that has also helped her make progress before, so her giving and trusting nature could help her in this arc too!! maybe she’ll befriend more red house victims again, and be able to rally allies. in terms of her trusting nature, maybe she'll end up trusting the people mitsuba shied away from last chapter, and we could get to see what their intentions were before amane took mitsuba.
however, as of right now, nene is at least with other people who can help her, should she be swayed. I don't expect them to all stick together, but I'm assuming teru has some sort of plan? the idea that everyone is mostly going along with at the moment is teru’s, which raises a lot of questions for me! surely he’s prepared to encounter new timeline tsukasa again, and maybe even new timeline amane, but I have no clue if he’d want nene to see the yugis (maybe to extra convince her to go back? maybe to see if her presence affects the new timeline yugis at all? as bait or a distraction? so many possibilities!!) or if he’d want to keep them separate for any reason. so a lot of whether she sees the yugis probably depends on teru's plan and how prepared he is going into this. he seemed to know a lot about the red house in the original red house arc, but we haven't seen him interacting with it, so i'm really interested to see how much he knows about it and how his exorcist powers stack up against the red house's powers!
as far as the yugis are concerned, I have far more questions than theories lol, including: would either of them have reason to recognize nene? have they been having dreams of a different life too? what are their current goals, and how does their dedication to those goals stack against any feelings for nene that may be sticking around from the original timeline? personally, I have no clue! but I’m excited to find out!! scared for our girl, but also very excited. as an angst fiend, I think it could be really terrifying and exciting to see an amane who has no regard for nene or her safety. how new and interesting and horrifying if our hero turns against our heroine!!
honestly i would love to see nene interacting with this new amane, even if it goes poorly for both of them. i also love nene and tsukasa interactions, and he's been her amane info guide thus far in the story, and especially in the red house arc, so maybe we'll get more of that this arc? but again i'd really love to see nene and new timeline amane interact bc i think it would be really scary and devastating<3 so yeah definitely dangerous and not a good idea....but it would be really interesting to see lol
I’m honestly just so thrilled to be along for the ride this arc lol. especially since the red house is probably my favorite arc (is my tsukasa bias showing? lol) I’m so excited for all the lore we could get in this return to this setting!!

Had more thoughts about a Flash fanfic w/xxxHolic setting
Harry is definitely the one running the wish shop. He's stuck there as part of fulfilling his wish to save Jesse's life so he needs a go-for type person to work for him. As he gets closer to fulfilling his wish, he knows his time at the shop is growing to a close and that someone will have to take it over since, when his wish is fulfilled and Jesse is safe, Harry won't be able to run the shop anymore. Someone else will have to take over and Harry suspects it's chosen Cisco. Harry will be fine - Jesse wasn't dead, so the price wasn't a life for a life sort of thing, but she is missing. Perhaps as Harry's wish comes closer to being granted, he does start to be allowed time away from the shop, though?
Cisco has the ability to see spirits and other supernatural beings. And has the occasional visions. His powers have gotten stronger since he turned eighteen and it's making him a little... too interesting to the local spirit life. While escaping from a particularly insistent stalker that Cisco's pretty sure wants to eat him, he arrives at a wish shop and feels a bit like he's just come home. Harry freaks Cisco out, of course, and quickly deduces Cisco's problems. He promises that the shop can grant Cisco's truest wish, but it's a big one. And a wish must be granted in exchange for payment of equal value, so obviously the best idea is for Cisco to work for Harry until he can 'afford' the wish.
Cisco thinks his wish is to get rid of his ability to see spirits. But in the end, his true wish is to be able to understand what he sees and defend himself, and others. At the shop, he learns more and more about the spirit world and gains the skills to protect himself and others... so his wish is granted in exchange for the time it took for him to learn it. In a matter of speaking.
Originally I was thinking Caitlin as the Himawari analogue type, but now I'm leaning towards splitting that between her and Lisa. Lisa is the one who brings bad luck and she's already friends with Hartley, having learned that Hartley's natural abilities can negate her bad luck. To some degree. Meanwhile Caitlin is Cisco's best friend, but little does she know she's got an ice spirit growing inside her. Frost's presence is slowly killing Caitlin, which as Frost grows more aware the ice spirit realizes that Caitlin's death is not what she wants.
Frost learns about the wish shop and begins trying to go there, which leads to Caitlin turning up confused in a few places before, finally, Frost gets where she's going and makes a wish to save Caitlin. While Caitlin, finally aware of Frost's existence too, doesn't want Frost to die for her either. Harry halts time for Frost's growth as a spirit - she's already strong enough to survive on her own, but she can't 'escape' Caitlin's body until Caitlin dies. Frost's continued growth would, thus, kill Caitlin. Harry grants their wishes that neither of them die. But the cost to save Caitlin is that Frost can no longer grow. And the cost to halt Frost's growth without killing her is that Caitlin must allow Frost control of her body at regular intervals.
Hartley's family has a history of being powerful exorcists, but the power to see spirits seems to have left them. Hartley's parents are the owners of Rathaway Industries and they expect him to take over one day. But he knows when they find out he's gay, they'll disown him instead. He meets Lisa first, who is fascinated by the fact that Hartley's presence seems to negate her bad luck. She's the first person Hartley's ever come out to and while she isn't a college student like him, she isn't involved at the campus somehow. Working a con initially, perhaps?
Hartley and Cisco have a bit of a rivalry going on in their classes, but Harry recognizes the Rathaway family name and knows it's likely Hartley's inherited the family powers. Harry manages to somehow arrange for Hartley to show up at times when Cisco needs his protection and Cisco winds up admitting his abilities to Hartley, Lisa, and Caitlin - which is probably when Frost learns about the shop.
Over time Hartley falls in love with Cisco, but he thinks Cisco has feelings for Lisa. Lisa isn't interested in romance for herself, though, and conspires with Frost to set Cisco and Hartley up together. Which Cisco proves amiable to, eventually.
Caitlin of course winds up falling for Ronnie, who has some kind of fire powers (or is perhaps some kind of fire spirit?) and eventually they must contend with the ice spirit Icicle, who planted Frost within Caitlin when Caitlin was younger, and expected to finally meet his daughter when she emerged from her human 'cocoon'. So he is not thrilled to learn of his child's reckless wish to preserve Caitlin's life.
As Jesse draws closer to arriving (being rescued?), Cisco starts to start to grant wishes himself as the shop connects to him. When Harry's connection to the shop breaks, he tells Cisco that his abilities came only from the wish that bound him to the shop. But Cisco's abilities are natural - he's the kind of person the shop needs to survive. But without a shop owner, there can be no shop. The shop might be able to find someone before it fades away, if Cisco chooses a normal life for himself. Or as normal as someone with his powers can have.
Cisco chooses the shop. He finishes his degree for himself, but he takes over running the shop. Hartley finally comes out to his parents who disown him as he'd expected. He moves in with Cisco and Lisa goes with them, the three of them running the shop together.
Harry and Jesse stay nearby with Jesse having to recover from wherever she was. But of course, a human cannot be lost in the spirit world without being changed and it seems Jesse has gained the power of speed...
I'd want it to have a happier ending than xxxHolic has - the bittersweet ending works for xxxHolic, but I would want to write the fic as being about hope being rewarded.

I think it's definitely a possibility, but she almost certainly had her daughters in life, and whether we wanna admit it or not, some mothers genuinely have this control over their daughters that influences them to be little more than reflections of their mom personality-wise and/or just want their mom wants them to be (and for that matter, Carmilla and her daughters were supposedly part of a cartel in life, making their sins pretty much the same thing).
That said, we know from the fact Adam and Vaggie were both confirmed to be humans once that it is entirely possible for Carmilla to have been an exorcist like Vaggie at one point, or even just a "winner" as Adam put it who, maybe after learning her daughters went to hell and she somehow made it to heaven despite her sins (maybe she did what Sir Pentious did and died to protect her daughters, earning a spot in heaven. And this outcome seems VERY likely given she was more than willing to die at the hands of the Exorcists to give her daughters time to escape if that's what it came down to) decided to fall so she could be with her daughters. Her design is different enough that I honestly wanna rule out Exorcist, the Exorcists follow a pretty uniform body type (likely an intentional choice to dig at Adam somehow), so I'd honestly go with "winner."
The question then becomes: how will this be revealed and what purpose would her being a fallen angel of some sort serve? We won't really know till season 2 assuming any of this is right and they didn't make her design similar to Vaggie simply because they're all Latina (which I honestly wouldn't rule out). But the design similarities, plus the seemingly pointless parallel in their song (still trying to piece together why they were paralleled. I initially assumed it was because Carmilla was her mom, but that doesn't seem likely unless Vaggie and Carmilla had such a falling out in life that they don't even recognize each other in any way) does make it seem a little possible that Carmilla could be a fallen angel of some variety.
I believe Carmilla Carmine to be a fallen angel
As well as the fact that she has daughters when sinners can't reproduce there is an important detail I can't believe no one has brought up.
Look at her, I mean really look at her, what is something you might notice? Other than her stunning beauty
Tumblr media
An amazing lack of features she has. She has no wings, no shark teeth, no monstrous/bestial features, no horns (I was surprised to learn that her buns weren't wrapped around horns), no inorganic parts like Vox or what have you and she shares this trait with her daughters Odette and Clara. The only arguably inhuman trait are her large hands, which are not exactly a very defining trait especially since they moved away from her pilot design of having claws.
Look at the denizens of Hell:
Tumblr media
They are incredibly diverse in form, having taken on features influenced by personality, sin, time period and cause of death. Even most "basic" sinners still look like generic devils.
Tumblr media
(I used Mrs. Mayberry from Helluva Boss because she is the best shot of a "devil" sinner but they are seen often as background characters in Hazbin Hotel as well).
Now there is an exception to this though: Velvette
Tumblr media
Now with her, I believe that is less a lore reason and more an artistic design choice since it is apparent her outfit and hairstyle is going to be different in every appearance she has so they left out any extra features to make that easier for the animators.
Tumblr media
She is essentially a blank canvas for the animators to play dress up doll with, but she does still lack a nose which makes her a little less human looking than Carmilla.
Now getting back to Carmilla's daughters, even if Odette and Clara also died at the same time as Carmilla which is why they are together in Hell, the chances that they wouldn't have enough variables to have any unique features of their own feels slim, did these three really have so little variation in personality and sin one of them wouldn't look a little more monstrous?
Tumblr media
Some have pointed out the horns they have are probably fake, with Odette's being her hairband, which with Carmilla's hair buns seem to almost be an attempt to "fit in" with the sinners.
Overall as many have brought up, the Carmines have more in common with Vaggie design wise with how few unique features they have, and we all know what Vaggie's deal turned out to be.
Anyway that's my two cents and I'd love to know your thoughts if you have any.
