We all have our guys we like to toss into the oven and bake to a crisp. We mix them up however we want, and throw in some variables for additional flavour. Unfortunately, sometimes not everyone gets your vision. Sometimes you’re the sole warrior of a nation made up of you and your three mutuals. Worry not, this event is here to save you! With the help of MCYT Rarepair Exchange, you can beam your most exotic of pairings straight into unsuspecting people’s heads. Beware though, the same fate will likely befall you!

Each person can nominate up to 20 relationship tags, both platonic “&” and romantic “/“ from any MCYT fandom. Tags with more than 2 people are allowed and encouraged.

For large fandoms (5k+ works on Ao3 as of Dec. 2024) your tag must have no more than 30 works with your tag included.

For small fandoms (-5k works in Ao3 as of Dec. 2024) your tag must have no more than 50 works with your tag included.

If your fandom has 200 or fewer works, mods will hear cases pleaded for any relationship tag that isn't the most popular/often used to be taken into consideration.

If your rarepair doesn’t exactly match the criteria but you believe it fits the spirit of the event, there is space in the nomination form for you to convince us why we should allow your tag into the tagset!

Event runners/moderators reserve the right to disqualify or allow any submissions that may not fit the criteria flawlessly. We will do our best to judge fairly without letting "popular"/"big" ships take priority in this event.

Adult/minor romantic relationships are not allowed in the event. Age of the character will be decided by age of the creator portraying the character during the majority of the SMP/series’ run. Mods reserve the right to disqualify any tag that they believe to be in violation of this rule. Minor/minor romantic relationships are allowed with the exception of characters considered to be extremely underage (ex. Yoghurt (DSMP) or QSMP eggs).

Canonical sibling or parent-child relationships may not be requested as romantic, but may be requested as platonic (ex. Jimmy and Lizzie in Empires SMP season one or the QSMP eggs with their caretakers/parents).

SIGN UP RULES

As per Tumblr, Ao3 and Discord TOS, you must be 13+ to participate.

Each participant must join the Discord server for ease of communication. If we cannot find you on Discord by the time the sign up period ends, your sign up will be deleted.

Is RPF allowed? This event will not be banning RPF works or tags, and will allow it as a fandom able to be nominated from. The nominations must still abide by the rules for other fandoms in this exchange. Are crossovers allowed? Crossovers are allowed as long as all tagged characters are from MCYT related fandoms! When nominating a crossover tag please specify which fandoms they are from. The air stood still and torrid. The tension in the air lingers above you as a bead of sweat drips down from your hairline. You hold your breath, hiding behind a vast wall. You assume that the witch clan you’ve come to annihilate can’t see you. One of them cackles mischievously, her kitten heels echoing throughout the cave. “You’re here,” she bellows, the sound of her shoes getting louder. Your breathing hitches, and she stops in her tracks.

Panicking, you brought a potion with you and had already thrown the ingredients inside. Your hands begin to shake, and you recite the spell that you had found through research.

You had only been a full-blown witch hunter for 6 months. After your father passed a couple of years back, you went back to a regular life to cope with the pain. The thought of having to carry on like normal would’ve hurt you more, as he was your hunting partner. The pair of you only worked on smaller, more doable cases rather than the big shots. Your dad was close to 60 and he wasn’t getting any younger. You had always been worried about his health until he unfortunately declined rapidly.

Her shadow is creeping up on you and her footsteps grew faster and louder. You finish the incantation and nothing happens. Your eyes widen and your heart races. “What?” You mouth, your lungs in your throat. A skinny, pale hand slowly emerges from behind the wall, long, grotesque nails grip onto the brick. Some of the ends of her nails were chipped and broken off.

The frayed edges of her dress swing round and you’re met with a paralysing sensation shooting right through you. An icy white glow fills the room and you’re stuck.

She cackles, striking you again with the same feeling. This time, you’re levitating, and you can only move your eyes. You attempt to examine the rest of the cave but it’s pitch black and all you can focus on is the pain that’s being pumped through your whole body.

Suddenly, it’s dark. Reticent.

“Y/N?” A familiar voice calls for you, and you gasp. It can’t be.

“Y/N?” He calls again.

You find your feet back on the ground. You whip yourself round in every direction, searching for the voice.

“Dean?” You call, and there’s no answer. A hand slides down your forearm, causing you to flinch. Facing forward, you meet Dean Winchester’s gaze. His eyes are soft and sorrowful.

You place your hand on his cheek, his eyes close slowly and he swallows. Seeing that he’s somewhat relieved, you allow a tear to roll down your cheek. Your love for each other was immense and the pair of you were inseparable. That was until Lisa, his ex-girlfriend, came back into his life and he left you to return to his old life. Like you never even mattered in the first place.

You caress his cheek, and he pulls you into a hug. You wrap your arms around his neck and your hand lays softly on the back of his head. Stroking his hair, you pull out of the hug and he then leans in to kiss you. Your lips meet, his skin is warm and his lips are moist. The kiss is slow and welcoming, as if everything was back to normal.

“I’m sorry, I do love you.” He speaks out, tears welling in his eyes. You sigh, trying to reply to him. You’re inarticulate, struggling to make even a sound. As you stare into his eyes, you attempt to telepathically convey your love. All of this makes it 10 times harder because you can’t say anything back. You hope and pray to God that he hears you, that he sees you wanting to tell him that you love him, too. Just one final time.

You wake up inside of a hospital, the white lights are overbearing and they give you a headache. You attempt to sit up when a nurse enters the room. “Be careful, Y/N. Your lower body won’t be able to hold your weight just yet if you sit up,” she smiles and you smile back. “Okay.” Was all you could manage to get out. Your throat is dry, so you take a sip of stale water that must’ve been sitting on the bedside table overnight.

“You’re free to leave tomorrow, all being well,” she states. You nod. She unfolds a bed table and places it over you. She hands you a plate of vegetables, rice and chicken in an unfamiliar sauce. “Rest up, okay? Another doctor will visit you soon for a quick test to ensure you’re okay to leave tomorrow.” She gives you a reassuring grin, then exits the room.

You decide to pick at the food, attempting to eat what they gave you.

It’s gross.

It had been 8 days since you were admitted to hospital. No memory of anything other than your strange vision of Dean. You had to go back to the hospital for one last check up when you were greeted with ambulance workers rushing in with someone on a stretcher. They’re all yelling over each other, hastening to the emergency room straight down the hall. A familiar face races past you, attempting to keep up with the doctors. He doesn’t notice you, though, as you turn around and watch him panic.

Bobby?

You sit down, hand over your mouth. Trying to keep it together. “Y/N?” The doctor calls and you look up. “Are you ready?” He asks and you nod. Shaking your nerves away, you stand up and follow the doctor to his office. “Do you think he will be okay?” You ask hesitantly, and he shrugs it off as if it’s nothing. “In our care, he will be perfectly fine.” The doctor doesn’t even register who you’re talking about.

Once you leave his office, you notice that the light above Bobby’s door is red. Bright, like a flare. Assuming that means an operation is in progress, you pray that he will return alive and well. Whatever had happened to him must’ve proved a tough fight. Growing up with the Winchesters’ and Singer, you had always thought that Bobby is invincible and nothing could ever happen to him. Keeping your head down, a pair of feet accosts in front of you.

“Y/N.” He greets, and you look up. That familiar face once again.

Dean’s eyes are, yet again, filled with sorrow and regret and you’re not sure whether it’s because of you or because of Bobby. “Dean,” you reply back, and glance over at Sam. He’s sitting down, staring at you with disbelief. He lifts his hand up and waves, clearly tongue-tied.

“Can I talk with you?” He’s hesitant. His chest rises up and down. Dean takes his hand and rubs it across his face.

“About what?”

Dean looks at you gone out, maybe it was the fact that Bobby is in the emergency room, or the fact that you had a hallucination about him confessing his requited love for you that you just couldn’t quite get what he’d want to say to you. There’s so much, but so little to say.

“You know what.”

THE SUNDAY TIMES: Molly Hudson, Saturday November 30 2024, 6.00pm GMT

Listening to George Russell field questions about the controversial issues that threaten the future of the sport with clarity and calmness, you would be hard pushed to detect that he was once an unsure and self-conscious child.

Russell as a director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association is now one of Formula 1’s leading public voices. But such were his difficulties, he was sent for speech therapy and that focus on clear enunciation has been crucial in helping him progress in a sport that requires concise feedback.

“When I was a young kid, six or seven, my dad used to say he could never understand what I was saying, because I was mumbling all the time,” Russell says as he sits in his team kit in the Mercedes hospitality suite. “As I grew a little bit older, and I started to race in Europe, for three years I had an Italian mechanic. I was in an Italian team. It was a European environment, and you had to talk slow, you had to talk precisely so they could understand.”

“When I was with Force India [now Aston Martin], as a test driver, we did some work with an ex-RAF pilot, just about clear communications and interpretations of people’s words and that really resonated with me.”

The 26-year-old secured his third Formula 1 victory last week in Las Vegas, and that communication came to the fore. He recognised that the track evolution, which meant that lap times were improving as the track was swept clean of dirt by the cars and rubber was laid on the circuit, meant the last car on track would have the best chance of success.

“Vegas was a good example — in qualifying, I was so clear. ‘I want to be the very last car to cross the line.’ It was pretty clear what my requests were. We did that, and we got the pole. I believe in myself this year, especially whenever I’ve trusted my gut,” he says.

Russell was born in King’s Lynn, and attended the private Wisbech Grammar School, before his karting took precedence. He spent his first Formula 1 pay cheque on a new Mercedes for his father, Steve, who ran a business selling seeds and pulses and travelled with his son to races in a motorhome while he was karting.

That family dedication has paid off. Russell is preparing to begin a pivotal new chapter of his career, stepping out of the shadow of seven-times world champion Lewis Hamilton and becoming Mercedes’s lead driver next season, alongside a rookie teenager, the Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

It has been a season of ups and downs for Mercedes, struggling to find a consistent car despite registering four race victories, and managing the departure of Hamilton to Ferrari at the end of the season. Russell has transformed from someone who watched Hamilton race, to being his colleague, and he leads him in the drivers’ championship.

“I definitely looked up to him and admired him,” Russell says. “My hero, honestly, was my brother [Benjy, who also raced under the driver No63 he uses]. “He’s ten years older than me, and he’s who I looked up to when I was go-karting, because that was maybe more relatable for me. He was winning races in go-karts, and he was winning British championships, World Championships, and that’s what I wanted to do, because I could visually see him doing that.

“But without doubt, I’ll always remember my first F1 race for Mercedes [shortly before signing to their young driver development programme] in Abu Dhabi 2016, the Nico [Rosberg] and Lewis race, and just being in the same room as him in the debrief, listening to it all unfold. I was starstruck being there in that moment. So for sure it is surreal that we’ve now been team-mates for three years, and that I know within myself that I can perform at a minimum of his level.”

Russell has raced in 126 grands prix, with three victories, four pole positions and 15 podium finishes, having spent three seasons at a struggling Williams, before stepping up to Mercedes in 2022. His highest finish in the drivers’ championship was fourth, in 2022. This season is his most successful statistically speaking, but he is further down the rankings in sixth because of the spread of drivers claiming wins.

For so long, Hamilton carried the hopes of British fans in F1, and this season Lando Norris has provided the best chance of success. Russell believes next year can be his opportunity, assuming he has the car to do so.

“I’ve been in F1 six years now, next year is my seventh, and my fourth year with the team,” he says. “I feel absolutely ready to take my journey to the next level and I feel ready to fight for a championship. I feel ready to fight against Max [Verstappen] and if we get the opportunity, I’m not going to waste it.

“I feel I’ve been ready for three years. I’m team-mates with the greatest driver of all time and if you’re ever finishing ahead of Lewis Hamilton or beating him in a championship, you know that probably in 12 other seasons that would have been enough to win, or at least fight for a world championship.”

Russell has learnt to celebrate the good times with gusto when they do arrive, cancelling his flight home to party, instead, in Vegas with his girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt, and his team members.

The Vegas grand prix is particularly brutal on the body, as it involves travelling to the other side of the world, and then it is held at night. Before claiming his pole position, Russell took a 45-minute nap in his driver’s room.

Those challenges meant extra celebration, and something Russell had been inspired to do by a fellow driver.

“I listened to Fernando [Alonso] when he was on the Jake Humphrey podcast saying he looks back on his victories and regrets not celebrating it more [but] I’ve got to be honest, when I was out in Vegas until the early hours there’s a point of which I thought to myself, ‘You know what, I need to head back now, because I want to experience this feeling again.’ ”

Russell knows that the ability to challenge for titles is dependent on the capability of his car as much as it is a marker of his own talent. His time at Mercedes has coincided with the dominance of Red Bull and Verstappen.

“Arguably, Max shouldn’t have won the championship this year,” he says. “But the others made a few more errors and didn’t capitalise when they had the chance. I feel that we have [won what we could].

“Opportunities don’t come around every single day. This year was Lando’s chance. They [McLaren] might be there again next year. They may not. We just don’t know in this sport; nobody would have predicted Red Bull to fall off form in the manner that they have.

“There’s so much hype around Max. He’s such an exceptional driver, but the fact is, he’s won one race in the last 12 and, it just goes to show everyone is beatable because you are at the mercy of your race car. The difference with him this year is he’s won every occasion that he’s had the chance, and his rivals haven’t.”

Russell will hope that next year he has the chance to show he can capitalise where others have not.

Police in Vienna are investigating the deaths of four women and a teenage girl in a 24-hour period.

Three women were stabbed to death by a man in a brothel in Austria's capital on Friday. A suspect was arrested.

Another woman and her daughter were killed in an unrelated incident. Investigators believe the girl's father was responsible.

Campaigners described the day as "Black Friday" and called for urgent action to stop violence against women.

The bodies of three women, believed to be Chinese nationals, were found in a building in the central Brigittenau district at around 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT) after a witness called the emergency services.

The suspect, whom police have described as a 27-year-old Afghan national, was found hiding near the brothel with a knife in his hand.

On Sunday, police said the man had "basically confessed" to the killings during his first interrogation.

The motive is currently unclear but further questioning and investigations are to follow.

Autopsies will be carried out on the bodies of the three victims later on Sunday.

Earlier on Friday, a 51-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter were found dead in an apartment in the Erdberg area - about 12km (seven miles) from where the other incident happened.

There is no suggestion they are connected.

Police are still searching for the woman's husband, who is also the girl's father, as investigators suspect he may have strangled or choked them to death.

"The initial investigations, which are currently under way, indicate that blunt force was involved," said police spokesman Philip Hasslinger.

Eva-Maria Holzleitner, the leader of the women's policy department of the opposition Social Democratic Party (SPO), has urged the federal government to call a crisis meeting to discuss the issue of femicide in the country.

"We mourn the murdered women, are thinking about the survivors and call for a national action plan to protect against violence to finally be implemented in order to protect women's lives in Austria," said Ms Holzleitner.

Klaudia Frieben, leader of umbrella organisation the Austrian Women's Ring (OFR), wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that "this day will go down in history as Black Friday with five dead women".

According to the latest data on femicide rates in Austria, published by the Institute of Conflict Research, some 319 women were killed in the country between 2010 and 2020 - mostly by male partners or ex-partners.

The coalition government has vowed to crack down on the issue - pledging almost €25m (£21m) in 2021 to initiatives aimed at protecting women against violence.

Hi everyone! I’m not new to roleplaying at all, and am looking for a handful of new writing partners, though I have absolutely no self control and can’t say no to anyone with a good plot. I get too invested in roleplays and can ramble on for days about a rp / character I love.

I’m 24 and have been roleplaying for about 10 years now. Please be 21+ before interacting (I will be checking and blocking if not) My time zone is GMT, but I don’t mind where my partners come from. I’ve been having so much inspiration recently and am dying for some new roleplays. I’m a real sucker for writing deep and complex characters, and very much enjoy writing for the plot and character development as opposed to poorly written smut just for the sake of it. If it fits in with the rp I’m happy to write smut, or fade to black, whatever you’re more comfortable with.

I work full time, and stupid hours, so I’m not always about, but I’ll try and let you know what’s going on.

I like writing the male role in MxF, and also love MxM. I love playing multiple characters in a rp, but you’re welcome to play as many or few as you like. The guys I play are pretty well thought out, with lots of depth, background, emotion, and usually a bunch of trauma (so please tell me your limits in advance). All I ask is your character is not dry and impossible to work with. I’m not stupid, and know when I’m being used for my male / dom muses so if you present me with an overly subby character who’s lacking personality, you will be blocked, sorry.

I prefer quality over quantity. Like I said, I can get carried away and write pages upon pages, but if you can only manage a couple of good paragraphs, that’s fine with me. I’ll try and match your length in replies as long as they’re not one liners.

gabriel is smart but he knows it which is the worst kind of smart. he often uses his job as a way to try on flex on others but mostly to impress women. he is a pathological flirt and physically cannot help himself. turns the charm on by tenfold to get what he wants. he plays emotions as a joke because that's what they are to him ! he hates being perceived as weak! gabriel feels he has a really good judge of morality, but this job has clearly shown him that life isn't black/white.
