29-one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart.
30-one headcanon about this OTP that mends it.
THESE WERE GOOD ONES BOY DID THEY UNLOCK SOME THOUGHTS.
29. A headcanon that breaks my heart
If Misto hadn’t become friends with Tugger, he would have fallen prey to Macavity, much like Demeter did.
Now this is based on a particular set of headcanons that I have. But, basically;
After Macavity ‘leaves’ the tribe, young Misto finds himself treated with suspicion, like a ticking time bomb. Macavity had physical magic more powerful than anyone, perhaps that’s what corrupted him? So now people murmur, ‘what if Misto turns out just like him. What if he becomes a monster?’
So Misto hides his magic, makes it less than what it is. “I can only do lights. Nothing else.”
But he still needs to use it. He feels Wrong if he doesn’t. So he practices, alone, far from the tribe.
Eventually, Macavity finds him. He convinces him that the stories about him were inventions, slander. He offers to train him, to help him.
At first, Misto refuses, terrified. But he comes back. The promise of having someone Show him how to do control his magic is too enticing.
He is a good target. Already a bit reclusive, the aftermath of Macavity has made him an outcast. He’s lonely, craving guidance, craving someone like himself. He has a good heart, and is willing to believe Macavity’s stories. He’s naive. He doesn’t understand that people lie.
Macavity shapes himself into everything Misto needs. A friend, a mentor, a companion. But at the same time, he chips away at his supports.
No one else can be trusted. “Look at how they treated me. I lost control once, and they rejected me, exiled me. And I was the honored heir. What do you think they’ll do to you?”
It isn’t hard. Misto is already painfully aware of how the others look at him. Victoria is the only person he can trust.
And then there’s an accident. An accident that he causes. And in the aftermath, he hears the whispers. “Just like Macavity.”
Misto runs. He runs to Macavity, cries that he should have listened to his warnings, that no one could be trusted. He could only trust Macavity. He begs him to take him away, So he does. Macavity spirits Misto away to his own clowder. Waiting are a pair of mischievous calico twins, a beautiful ruby haired queen, and a golden queen with anxious eyes, all ready to be his new family.
But now that he has what he wants, Macavity no longer needs to play nice.
/
30. Something that mends it.
But this isn’t what happens. Instead, Tugger finds Misto in the outlands, practicing his magic.
And so, he’s the one who helps Misto. He too has grown up in the shadow of Macavity. He too has a chip in his shoulder.
He becomes Misto’s friend. He admires his abilities, his talents, encourages him. Though lacking overt magic of his own, his passion and excitement give Misto confidence.
He believes in him. He fosters trust. He thinks the others will accept Misto, and if they don’t, well then he’ll make them see what he sees!
So when Old Deuteronomy is kidnapped, that’s exactly what he does. “I will show them the you that I see. I will make them see you for who you are. And you are going to show them exactly how brilliant you are. I know it.”
/
/
(I did get inspired, I had already wanted to write a fic exploring these dynamics. If I ever get around to finishing them, I’ll reblog this with an Ao3 link. I have 3k of the AU scenario XD)
Thank you for the ask! 😁

If Iroh can come back from laying siege to Ba Sing Sei they'd have to let Azula into the fold by this logic.
Also uh...if Iroh is redeemable does that mean Ozai is by this logic? Because he is probably around the same age Iroh was when Lu Ten got bodied and Iroh pretty switched up by the time we see him in S1. And if he isn't, it's not because of his actions being heinous, but because he's a stubborn bastard.
Honestly I think Iroh just got lucky, if people say the siege of Ba Sing Se like we saw Azula and Ozai's crimes I don't think Iroh would be as liked as he is now.
People love Iroh because he is a noble, caring, and wise mentor for mostly Zuko and occasionally Toph and Aang as well. Three extremely popular and beloved characters. Ozai is hated because he is the current Fire Lord who is causing the continued suffering and torment in the world as an imperialistic dictator emperor along with his vicious child abuse of melting a quarter of Zuko’s face. Azula on the other hand is hated for being Zuko’s rival and tormentor along with being the extremely cunning & intelligence Machiavellian force against the Gaang, Water Tribes, and the Earth Kingdom resistance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People love the wounded puppy and loving caretaker scenario along with the adopted abused child victim backstory. You are kinda compelled by the narrative to pity, care for, and root for these characters by the narrative and writers. This is why Zuko and Iroh are extremely popular in the first place; due to their sympathetic situation of being the underdogs of the story. Especially when they are exiled and hunted on the run in Book 2.
Tumblr media
The fact that we see Iroh guide and mentor Zuko and the Gaang gives the viewer the impression that Iroh truly is a good man in his heart and can't be the same horrible monster that Ozai and Azula are treated like in the narrative and by fans. This however would be different if the audience and viewers had a glimpse of a young Iroh as the Grand General of the Fire Nation Army and The Dragon of the West! The invader of Ba Sing Sei and who laid seige for 600 days!
Tumblr media
I however think Ozai and Azula are capable of redemption if they want it personally and slowly have their imperialistic mentality and brainwashing corruption challenged with the help of their caring family members. The Legacy of Sozin’s Fire Imperialism and Azulon’s Child Abuse has left deep scars on not just the ATLA world and Fire Nation but on the Fire Nation Royal Family as well!

So basically what I’m thinking of is what if Darkstalker did one last selfish thing and turned back the clock — erasing thousands if not billions of lives — just so he could enchant Arctic to be a better dragon.
There are a couple different ways he could go about this: he could go back to the very night he hatched as his current self and magically repair Arctic’s damaged soul, or put himself back into his young, unhatched body, and cast the spell from there. In the first scenario, who knows what he does after. Change his name and live in the Night Kingdom? Exile himself? Straight up die? In the second, does he erase his memories of his previous life? Does he keep them? Does he help Whiteout hatch? Actually attempt to think things through instead of locking on to some distant future and barreling towards it? Not manipulate Clearsight?
And how badly would the time travel corrupt his soul? Again, he erased billions of lives, even an entire tribe, just so he could make Arctic, a dragon he’s always hated, be better.
Man I’m just having Thoughts and I’m. Augh
I literally wrote this out on my notes app and copy-pasted it here lol

I imagine Peppy and Branch would have a looong talk before he goes after Poppy. Not because Branch actually cares but because Cooper was one of the trolls who got caught and if what Branch was suspecting was true about him being the long lost Funk Prince, he should at least give fair warning to Peppy about the potential political mess Cooper's death would cause if Queen Essence and King Quincy ever found out he not only had raised Cooper among the Pop Trolls but also stood by and let him get eaten. Basically, it goes like:
Peppy: Branch... how are you- Why have you returned!?
Branch: Well, I went out, explored an entire world out there and all the different genres, and discovered something I wanted to check up on. Where's Cooper?
Peppy: Uh...
Branch: He was taken, wasn't he. Whelp, that's gonna cause trouble. If what I suspect is true, Cooper is more than just an unusual trolling you took in as an egg.
He never met the Funk Royals; he never interacted with them. He heard of the disappearance of their son from the pipeline, and saw prince Darnell from a distance, and that was enough for him to believe Cooper had a chance to know about his real family.
He never saw Peppy as a bad guy. Flawed, yes, and bit of a wash out now that Poppy is ready to take over- but he'd never talk disrespectfully towards him, especially because Peppy is not some malicious villain hellbent of punishing Branch for existing; he is just the only 'Leader' the Tribe has, as unsuitable that he is.
He would not have a 'talk' with Peppy about Cooper, and he wouldn't be snappish. Peppy would be overjoyed to see Branch alive and well, because he never wished him harm- nor he exiled Branch in the first place, Branch left on his own.
----------------------------
Now, I am sorry, but I will have to ask you to stop sending me these "asks". They are not asks, but crafting scenarios, situations and plots that do not align with my ideas for the AU, and there is only one person in the whole world that I'd allow work with my plot and characterization in such intimate way and you are not them.
I don't mind if you have different opinions on the canon characterizations- you are free to twist the canon in whatever direction you want, and write whatever stories you want- but these AUs and interpretation are my creation, and only I know which way they will go.

Long Live the High Chieftess! by Noctus Fury
Hello, everyone! Today, I made another edit/fanart of mine, this time I decided to do it for Heather. (For the edit on the Skrill, click here. For the edit on Osvald's funeral, click here.) This one is based on a what-if scenario where Heather becomes the High Chieftess of Berserk instead of Dagur. Whether it's because she successfully killed him and got her revenge, or he was killed by the Riders or by the Hunters, or Dagur was still imprisoned or in exile, or after the final battle against the Hunters, he decided to hand over the chieftainship to Heather while he lived with his new bride, Queen Mala.
Or Dagur perished or was imprisoned much sooner at some point in Defenders of Berk or afterwards, prompting Heather to return to Berserk unchallenged and become the new Chief! Huzzah! 🥳
Whatever the scenario, Heather becomes the High Chieftess of the Berserker Tribe! Long live the Chieftess!! Long may she reign!
---
As to how I've made this I simply took the background shot from the Riders of Berk episode "Twinsanity" and erased Dagur who was in the center of the snip. I then replaced it with Heather (and this was the only good full-body Heather shot I could find).
I also snipped the Skrill banners from the RTTE S5 episode "Something Rotten on Berserker Island" and that literally was the only good angle I could get on those banners. There were others but they either didn't cover much of the banner or the angle or lighting was off. There was a shot that had the full banners, but the angle and distance were too far away to make them good. Plus, the stupid guards kept blocking the bottom half of the banner. Tch! 💢😒
Tumblr media
But anyway, I used the banner snip I had, edited it a bit, and then duplicated the snip and put them in the background for the banner aspect. It really gives it that regal and chiefly feel to it. 😘
I hope you guys love this and thank you for supporting me. Please support my work through kudos and reblogs. I hope you have a wonderful summer break and week.
Long Live the Night!

This is. I think, a significant reason why I'm enjoying running Werewolf: the Apocalypse rn. There are beings of evil - spirits of hatred, pain, war, pollution etc - that are the psychic manifestations of human ills. There are fallen and corrupted humans and werewolves. And then there are just other packs and changing breeds and everyday people. Most of the people in my setting aren't perfectly good or evil, they fall into the same pattern and range as real life. Instead of creating scenarios or battle plans for 'beat bad guy' - I set my players up with problems/conflict/entropy and react to their solutions. It reflects that players and characters have a range of choices - both in a meta-sense (different forms, tribes, and packs) but also in a narrative sense (if they choose to RAGE out and murderhobo there will be severe consequences minimum they get exiled from whatever territory they're in and have big honor penalties). You can only learn or get certain things through roleplay and cooperation with someone else who knows it. I give xp at the end of each story which seperates the 'kill bad doods farm xp' mentality. Because in a game about working as a pack and working in packs being a needlessly aggressive selfish asshole means that people won't want you around in their community as a safety liability.
@txttletale's recent post about media criticism is really good and it actually spoke to me about something I've been thinking about with regards to D&D.
So okay D&D's whole gameplay doesn't actually frame the player characters in the best possible light. That's okay in my opinion, cause I don't think media needs to be morally correct for me to engage with it. When playing D&D I'll just accept some of the premise and then go with it.
But in recent years I've been seeing a lot of takes about trying to reframe D&D's gameplay through a positive lens. "The average D&D party is a found family trying their best to survive outside the status quo, trying their best to help people, etc." and it kind of rings hollow when what the gameplay still revolves around is grave-robbing, killing acceptable classes of people (under this framing "monsters" get replaced with cultists, bandits, and other folks society has deemed acceptable to kill), and often in the service of the status quo.
Like the framing of a lot of D&D adventures is "the poor village inhabited by good normal people surrounded by evil wilderness is under attack and because the power of authority doesn't extend this far into the wilderness they need your help to save them from the bad people," which is like basically forming a posse of vigilantes to enact frontier justice.
So when people try to put a positive spin on that with like "no we're just real scrappy strangers trying to do a good thing to save the world when society rejects us" it makes me go really?

East of West #1: Out Of The Wasteland
Tumblr media
East Of West #1: The Promise By Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta, Frank Martin, and Rus Wooton.
 Warning, Spoilers Ahead…
Three beings emerge from a circle in the desert. The group realizes they are missing their fourth member. They roll the bones to discover the location of their missing fourth member.
“He really left us. We were four, but not it’s just us three.”
“Well…that settles it then. We kill him and then the world can follow.”
An extreme reaction to abandonment but everyone grieves in their own way.
A break in the chapter informs us “The things that divide us are stronger than the things that unite us.”
The next page lets the reader know this takes place in an alternative history of the United States. Here is a recap of events:
·         “The Third Great Awakening happened ‘round the same time as the Civil War, seizing Elijah Longstreet in its embrace in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-two. Preceding that, he had served in the Second Corps, Army of the North Virginia under General Thomas Jonathan ‘Stonewall’ Jackson. Elijah was loyal Gray until the Battle of Chantilly. That’s when he got the Word, abandoned war, and was born again the Prophet Longstreet.”
·         “One year later, Standing Bear, the Ponca chief and only remaining holdout of the Native American tribes, laid down arms before the strong man of the Lakota. Red Cloud became chief of chiefs. There was smoke, oral histories coalesced, and the Endless Indian Nation came into being. Soon, the Union found itself fighting a war on two fronts – righteousness and tyranny, and the resulting quagmire suited their hypocrisy. Conflict drug on until finally reaching a protracted lull a decade later. A war that was not war, lasting twenty more years…until the fire in the sky.”
·         “There are those that say the comet should have struck some other land. That God, like with Joshua and the Amorites, somehow held the world up, kept it from spinning, just so he could deliver judgement.”
·         “Divine intervention or not, that event marked the end of hostilities, the remarking of territory, and the formation of what would become the Seven Nations of America. The Accords were signed at Armistice – the epicenter of the event – on November 9, 1908. It was significant, historic, and the third most important thing to happen that day.”
The panel of the signing shows six individuals at the signing: an unnamed Native American, and unnamed African-American, two unnamed white men, and two men of undetermined origin – possible Hispanic or Asian (it’s hard to tell from the art). Where is the seventh signer?
·         “As in Atlanta, the Prophet Longstreet penned the Second Book of Revelation…and in Chenowee, Red Cloud shared a walking vision with his council of elders. Then upon completion, and by all accounts at exactly the same time, both men collapsed and died. The words spoken and the words written down – interlocking apocrypha, collectively called by believers The Message – remained an incomplete, unsolvable mystery for half a century. Until the day it was completed.”
·         Fast forward to 1958: “On his deathbed, in New Shanghai, the exiled Chinese leader Chairman Mao Zedong penned an addendum to his Little Red Book. His portion – the missing portion – of the Message. The three were one. And the one…it was the story of the world’s end.”
·         The next three panels show Red Cloud, Prophet Longstreet, and Mao Zedong narrating the Message: “There was a lone man. A broken sparrow…one apart, a son of Night…the first of four, the end of everything,,,”
I love alternate history scenarios and the above is an extreme divergence on American history. How do the Seven Nations of America work? Is there a Parliament where representatives come together to regulate laws and policies? Are the Seven Nations independent of each other and the “of America” is in name only? Did the Seven Nations become involved in world events, or did they remain isolated from global happenings?
The next scene is “now”. A trio enters the Atlas, a bar. It’s not the same trio from the opening scene – those were three individuals of Caucasian skin tones and uncertain gender. The three in the bar are:
·         An albino man dressed as a western gunslinger.
·         A tall, muscled albino man with black circles around his eyes, dressed in a robe with feathers atop his bald head.
·         A black woman, but not a black individual, more of an anti-albino look – she is as black as the others are white.  The exception is a domino mask area of albino white around the eyes and long white hair. She has fringed boots, wrapped bracers around the arms, a metal band on the upper arm, layers of necklaces, and a not-quite skirt – more of what a woman would wear over a bikini bottom at the beach.
The bar has a cyber-western atmosphere.  The bartender offers the gunslinger a beer but rejects the offer when he notices his companions: “Pardon me, but I failed to notice your company. Sir you find yourself today on the edge of civilization...and the edge of late is bloody. So it don’t matter one bit who’s vouchin’ for the unclean, I’m afraid their kind get no service here.”
The gunslinger responds: “The Wolf doesn’t drink.  He’s a particular sort. And the Crow…she would never drink here. So the whiskey is all for me. Now. Pour.”
Why would the bartender refuse the others but not the gunslinger? The Wolf and the gunslinger are both albinos, the Crow is an anti-albino. None of the three have skin tones normally found in the human race. Are the Crow and the Wolf considered “unpure” because their attire represents non-white cultures?
The gunslinger toasts: “Gentlemen. Soldiers. To the fall of empires…and the illusion of republic.”
The toasts angers a group of soldiers wearing a blue uniform with a gold “US” emblem on their hats. I’m guessing these are soldiers from the southern white portion of the Seven Nations of America which would explain the bartender’s “unclean” comment.
The bartender informs the gunslinger that “Perhaps you didn’t understand earlier but this bar is full of Union. Frontier boys from the fringe.”
Union would imply the North, at least in our world. Not that the North was blameless in its ecounters with people of color.
A soldier approaches the Wolf: “Best step aside, savage. This here is the modern world, and progress has a way of rolling right over the indigenous. Me and mine…we are so very progressive. Understand me? Chief.”
The fight/massacre occurs offscreen as the bartender looks on in horror. The gunslinger doesn’t leave his bar stool: “Now that…is a fierce look of dread your face is wearing. You see somethin’ scary? That’s okay. It’s all right to be afraid – you should be. As these are fear-producin’ times. Look around. This is a fractured land. Once whole, now cracked and broken. And that is where fear lives, the spaces in between. It’s stronger than the wakin’ world, finds seed in the darkest parts of your mind. Fear is real. Now look at me, son…See somethin’ worse.”
We get a closeup of the gunslinger’s eyes and see that they are a bright blue.
The bartender has a two-panel flashback. The bartender was one of five individuals standing on a cliff while a sixth person was on an advanced airship similar to SHIELD’s hellicarrier. There was the bartender, a man in an old-fashioned suit with a cane, a woman in a leather bodysuit/uniform. A blond man in a trenchcoat, and a long-haired man in robes. The sixth person is in the background with no identifying marks.  On the plain below, the gunslinger appearing as anti-albino like the Crow, is backed by two figures, presumably the Wolf and Crow. The Wolf is encased in body armor, armed with long staffs and the Crow has a blue electric whip. The gunslinger is engaged in a duel with another gunslinger. We only see the back of the legs and the guns of the other gunslinger.
We return to the present. The bartender gasps: Oh God…you…you’re…you’re…”
The gunslinger replies “Now don’t say my name unless you really mean to call for me. ‘Cause you call, I surely will come.”
The Crow warns “Hey! This place is not what it seems. Something is hidden here.”
Gunslinger: “Don’t care. I have what I came for. You think you could hide from me, Hunter? That your deeds wouldn’t find you out?”
Bartender: “It was just a job. I didn’t even know who I was trackin’. I swear, I didn’t know what they were going to do. I…please…I’ll give you whatever you want.”
Gunslinger: “But you can’t give me what I want. Can you?”
Bartender: “No…I could give you the next best thing – who hired me. They won’t be hard to find once I name them.”
Gunslinger: “Buy an agent, buy his silence. Doesn’t your kind have a code? Never give up a contract?”
Bartender: “Doesn’t your kind have plenty of experience with men selling their souls just to breathe one more breath? Honor gets buried deep with the body…I wanna live. But I’m guessing you’re gonna kill me anyway, aren’t you?”
The bartender rips a page out of his notebook and hands it to the gunslinger.
Gunslinger: “Crossed me once and lived. That’s a mercy you won’t find again. Remember that.”
The Crow informs the bartender that she would have taken his eyes.
The Wolf pronounces the list “not good” as it is “Solid. But look at the first name.”
The Crow agrees: “Ain’t walking the White Tower. Nothing there but lies and the lying mouths that produce them.”
The Gunslinger concurs: “It’s also warded – Bones and Bonded. Two of you couldn’t get within fifty miles if you wanted.”
The Gunslinger’s companions tell him that “the Chalice” won’t be hidden there as it is too public a place to keep a secret.
The Gunslinger states that he will have to have another reason for being there. He tells his friends that he only recognized one other name on the list. He tells Wolf and Crow to find the others and that he will meet them on the second day at the Golden Bridge on the Burning Plain. He then rides off a mechanical horse.
Very intriguing first issue. I’m loving the supernatural cyber-western setting. I don’t know how deep the series will delve into the divergent history of the United States aka the Seven Nations of America but I would love to see how it effected world history.
We’re introduced to two distinct trios – one wants to end the world, the other is looking for a “chalice”. Why does the trio feel abandoned by its fourth member? Extreme separation anxiety? How much earlier did he awaken? Is there a reason he didn’t awaken his partners? What of who is the “Chalice”?  What happened in the bartender’s flashback? I thought he was one of the individuals on the ship but was he the other gunfighter? If he was the other gunfighter, how was he able to survive the confrontation considering he folded like wet tissue paper when confronted by the gunslinger in the bar? Why did the people on the ship hire the bartender? And what did the Crow sense that was hidden in the bar?
So many questions!!!

Live footage of Azulon when the son he treats like trash and obviously wants his attention to the point he legit names his kid after him but with a more feminine sounding ending kills him after forty years of him being an awful parent: Shoced Pikachu face.
Yeah you can't tell Ozai didn't want to kill Azulon but simply never had the courage to go through with it. A part of me feels he was waiting for the bastard to kick the bucket and I'm of the opinion that outside of fear, the other reason he didn't try tripping the bastard down the stairs was because Iroh would get the throne anyway and whilst Azulon's death can be brushed off as the fucker just getting old, Iroh dying at the same time would raise red flags and it's only when Lu Ten dies and Iroh retracts his birth right does Ozai dare to even try insinuating he should get the throne.
I believe that Ozai and Azulon had a very complex, turbulent, and strained father-and-son relationship. My theory regarding Fire Lady Ilah's death is that she had complications while giving birth to Ozai and died in a traumatic childbirth scenario. Perhaps, Fire Lord Azulon desired to have another child in case of Crown Prince Iroh's death on the battlefield. Ilah probably was at the age where having another child was risky in her mid-40s or possibly infant Ozai burning Ilah alive from the inside out causing the Fire Sages to perform a bloody C-Section which led to her death due to immolation, blood loss, and overwhelming pain.
If this scenario is truly the canon case regarding Fire Lady Ilah’s death. Then I could see Fire Lord Azulon scapegoating Ozai for being the cause of Ilah’s death especially if Azulon forcibly demanded Ilah to conceive another child as a potential backup replacement heir for Iroh’s death in warfare along with the return of Sozin’s comet coming in the next half century. I can see both Azulon and a teenage Iroh resenting, neglecting, and verbally abusing Ozai during his childhood due to their beloved wife and mother dying horrifically in tremendous tormenting pain. Adult Iroh probably later resents and regrets how he and his father treated Ozai during his early formative years as a child and the negative effects it had on their relationship and Ozai’s own relationship with his own personal family with Ursa, Zuko and Azula…
However, I believe that despite the hateful resentment and negatively neglectful child abuse. Ozai during his youthful childhood and teenage years greatly appreciated, admired, and respected his father as Fire Lord and Supreme Commander of the Fire Nation Military and brother as Grand General of the Fire Nation Army. Ozai probably very much idolized and worshipped his father and brother as legendary war heroes and genius strategists who followed in his grandfather's legendary footsteps in achieving absolute victory for their homeland and people against the “barbaric snow savages” of the Water Tribes and “incompetent dirty filthy” Earth Kingdomers. Ozai probably later on during his adulthood began to resent Azulon for his maltreatment and neglect of him despite him being his ultimate idol as shown by his naming of Azula after him. Ozai also probably resents how Azulon values and has a better relationship with Iroh and Lu Ten than him due to Ilah’s death. I can definitely see Teen Ozai being fanatically loyal to Azulon just like Zuko was for Ozai due his exile.
Ozai is more ruthless, brutal, and vicious than his older brother Iroh. Iroh had taken after Ilah's influence and parenting style whereas Ozai had taken after Azulon’s influence and parenting style. Iroh probably is brainwashed and naive to believe that the Fire Nation truly cares about the prosperity of the other elemental nations whereas as Ozai is extremely realistic and pessimistic regarding the so-called “benevolent” plans for the other nations by their grandfather Sozin. Ozai probably internally realized and demoralized himself regarding the Fire Nation's true brutal, vicious, cruel, and selfish desire for imperial conquest. Which is why personality Ozai is much more strict, cold, ruthless and serious than his brother due to their different outlook on society and what it means to be a parent, warrior, and Fire Prince of the Fire Nation.
Ozai's parenting style is very authoritative, demanding, controlling, and ruthless like the Fire Nation Empire itself. Ozai most definitely inherited this style of dominating and vicious dictatorial parenting method from Azulon who inherited it from Sozin. Ozai treats his children more like soldiers and pawns for the Fire Nation's grand schemes and designs. Their happiness, wishes, and desires mean nothing to him to the cost of his family's Imperial Legacy. Ozai and Ursa used to have a happy family with Zuko and Azula, but Ozai "changed" when the children became older. I believe Ozai decided to allow Zuko and Azula to have a happy and "normal" childhood that he didn't experience as a child. However, once Ozai saw a chance in becoming Fire Lord and fulfilling Sozin's dream and legacy. Ozai gave up on the lenient and caring fatherly act because it was unnatural to him given his own personal childhood and relationship with his own father Fire Lord Azulon. Along with the fact that Ozai probably believes that with Ursa gone; he finally can stop coddling his children after their childhood has ended.
Unfortunately, Ozai cares more about the Fire Nation's imperialistic ambitions than the happiness of his wife and children. At the end of the day, Ozai doesn't understand and value the unconditional and pure love of a parent because he probably has never gotten to experience it with Fire Lord Azulon probably being resentful over Fire Lady Ilah's brutal and horrific death in childbirth!
Ozai's harshness and brutal parenting style and domineering expectations are because Ozai wants Zuko and Azula to both prove themselves. Ozai doesn't favor Zuko or Azula. It is about which child will succeed Sozin, Azulon, and his legacy as future Fire Lord. In fact, Ozai doesn't want Zuko or Azula to think that they are the “favorite” child. He wants Azula and Zuko to improve through competition. Because of the “only the greatest of pressures can forge diamonds” & “steel sharpen steel” mentality. Ozai has the mentality of an imperialist warlord. Ozai isn't trying to be the world's most loving and caring father but rather continue and build upon a powerful and dominant legacy that his forefathers had created before him. He wants Zuko & Azula to be cold, ruthless, heartless, vicious, and brutal imperialistic warmongers like him (Ozai), his father (Azulon), and his grandfather (Sozin).

#prev#oooooh i dont think I ever saw that detail!!!#I’ll keep an eye out for it now#also 👀 at your au may I ask I’m curious abt it
(putting this in fulltext instead of tags for ease of formatting)
yeah! it’s during the scene of turning in the key half from the bee kingdom! (including a bit more for context and a fun extra dialogue line that I don’t think many people get on initial playthroughs especially)
Zasp: Calm yourselves down. We just need to find the other half quickly.
Delilah: Is that so? You're gonna love this, then!
Kabbu: Oh! Stratos! Delilah!
[if you haven’t talked to them ever]
     Vi: Err...who?
Elizant: My esteemed scout team. You have something to share?
As for the au, well I was going to say I don;t have much to say but then I did so putting everything after this first paragraph under a cut. It’s one of my “I like Muse a lot and want to think about her in the context of canon events, what wild reasons can I come up with for her to be around?” ideas. Basically everything happens up to Leif getting trapped in snakemouth, and then also all the major world events leading up to the start of canon, expect with a much shorter time in between.
So for Leif, on one hand the world has still radically changed and a bunch of time has passed. But also now Muse (and his parents probably) is still alive, which especially with me usually thinking of this in iterations where they still have a child, creates a very different dynamic in Leif’s storyline.
But mostly I’ve been thinking about this from a Muse-centric lens. And having come out of snakemouth wounded and losing Leif (and I think one of the main reasons she doesn’t try and go back in this is that she finds out about the baby like right after), that super demotes her ability to support the quest for the artifacts. I think Elizant I, while certainly making efforts to find the Sapling, did not throw nearly as many bugs and resources at it. But when Elizant II succeeds her (not that many years later here) and founds the association and opens up sending people to snakemouth again, Muse is unhappy with that decision, to put it lightly.
And because this is Muse, she’s not going to be quiet about it. I envision her as either part of the underground tavern’s “against the queen” division but more....more about it (I don’t know how to phrase it exactly but you know how in canon it’s basically just doppel “planning a peaceful protest“? Muse isn’t exactly attacking anyone and that hard on the other side of the spectrum but she’s louder and stronger than that), or she was like that but was enough of a threat or annoyance or something to Elizant II that she exiled her. So in the first scenario I think Team Snakemouth runs into her coincidentally by accident when they first go in the Tavern (and also it turns out she and Vi had seen each other there at least once before canon), and in the second it kind of depends on where she goes. My main one is that she ends up with the bandits not fully part of their crew just kind of there. (and I think she and Astotheles would have a funny dynamic where they have an understanding but don’t really “get along”. like two cats.) And she doesn’t know about Leif specifically but has about the team in general and when the bandits capture them (possibly earlier on idk) she calls dibs on talking to them before anything else. Which either results in her being there when they first wake up and realizing Leif is there, or they break out before she can get there and she’s there when they go confront Astotheles. Also there’s a version where she leaves and goes through the forsaken lands and ends up among “the fabled tribes lurking underground” aka hollow knight but while there’s a lot of crossover in people who like that game too idk about you so I’ll save that space for now (also I actually don’t have much on that)
But yeah since Muse is not happy about the explorer thing she does not exactly get along with them. She’s not giving them trouble personally but most of them are at least aware of who she is and wary of her. But Stratos and Delilah she can at least get behind because they 1) act as a scout team like she used to be on (and irrelevant detail but I would be incorporating the idea I saw from someone else that Rebecca was their third party member because hell yeah) and she can relate to that. Possibly she knew them even before the explorer program started and was semi-influential in their training or something. 2) they explicitly do not fuck around with getting into the actual dangerous stuff. 3) even if they decided to, since they’re outrageously tough and competent they’re the most likely bugs to come out of it fine anyway
(ok other gametext sidenote: if you play with the ruigee file code and get all the ranks from Eetl, he says that “Only Maki's team has reached [max rank] before…” Which in my completely based on nothing but opinion and not looking at the actual numbers or anything, seems odd given what fighting delilah and stratos is like. like I suppose you could argue that since they don’t actually fight they don’t technically have the xp to be that high a rank and also it’s just a throwaway line but whatever)
I could probably say more but at this point there’s like a billion directions it could branch off into and some things where it’s just impressions and this isn’t one of my things where I’ve written much down before so I’ll stop there unless/until there’s any questions/interest in whatever about it
people in this fandom need to appreciate stratos and delilah smh i feel like the only fan

Itsuki Fujiwara
Deck: Divine
Spread: Sweet Romance
The eyes meet across the room… (What captivates them about you) [32] - Knight of Wands
Your playfulness and energy with which you ooze are the attributes Itsuki will notice first. He’s a shy person and your outgoing and good humoured nature will captivate him. He feels the warmth of your personality. At first he might feel a little bit intimidated by your powerful aura but he’s already hooked and interested and it’s only a matter of time for him to overcome his shyness.
Sweet scent lingering in the air… (What pulls them closer to you) [18] - XX Judgement
Itsuki is likely to feel instinctively pulled towards you. His eyes always find you in a crowd, he can recognize your perfume (or the scent of your shampoo or deodorant, whatever you use), he subconsciously focuses to hear what you say when you’re talking. It’s like if there was a string in between you two and you are pulling him closer and closer with it, metaphorically speaking.
Only the brave ones… (What motivates them to approach you) [8] - X The Wheel of Fortune
It’s likely to be a coincidence. You and Itsuki accidentally find yourself in the same spot and there’s no way he could hide from you so he has to start talking. Soon he drops the shyness and feels blessed for meeting you.
Words as sweet as honey… (What enchants them about you) [52] - IV The Emperor
Your confidence and at the same time sense of responsibility intrigues Itsuki. You are probably a born leader in a way but you also care for people, you are kind and caring and warm. You respect others regardless of their position and you expect the same respect from them. Itsuki admires that and you can be sure he will show endless respect to you.
Lips like petals of a rose… (What makes them kiss you) [46] - Ace of Cups
Poor sweet shy Itsuki. He needed the accident to happen to start talking to you, just imagine how much of a push he’s gonna need to kiss you. Lol. It’s likely for him to encourage himself with a shot of sake (or two shots… or three… or a bottle…). You might need to walk him home and make sure he lies on his side in bed and with a bucket nearby. While you are adjusting the pillows under his head he mumbles and then kisses you. He probably won’t remember it the next morning and will wonder why you blush.
Love is a form of insanity… (What makes them fall in love with you) [13] - Queen of Swords
You might actually need to interrogate Itsuki to make him confess his feelings. A serious talk about your relationship and how it’s going to be in future. You might start talking about it because you feel like he’s not serious about you two. Once Itsuki learns about your doubts, he will panic from the thought of losing you and stutter his declaration of love he was practising so many times in front of the mirror but never took the courage to tell you.

Scenario: You are on a camping trip with the three vocalists from THE RAMPAGE and your two brothers, this is what each member would do:
Kazuma...
- Commences to play and run around with you, your brothers, and Riku as soon as you get to the camp. But then feels bad later because he didn’t get to work straight away.
- Wonders why he couldn’t bring his earrings. (I’m sorry! I just had to.... =)
- Makes sure that everyone is happy with dinner, refilling everyone's plates and cups.
- Plays, hikes and helps out with all the work like a crazy man, then ends up getting tired and going to bed earlier than everyone else.
Riku...
- Was told to pack the extra snack foods (Granola, chips ETC.) but forgot to do it. =)
- Suffers from a terrible mental illness called the ‘I’m having a lack of gym selfies’ sickness.
- Spends time going back and forth between helping everybody do the necessary work and playing/ being silly every two seconds.
- Always gives you disinfectant and bandages when you get a cut (No matter how small the cut may be.)
Hokuto...
-Instantly begins preparations for setting up the tents. But inside he is thinking of how much he wishes he could play with the others. “Work comes first!” That’s his motto here though!
- Sings ‘Too Shy’ quietly as he helps make dinner, eventually making everyone else feel like singing!
- Makes sure that everyone will be comfortable in their tents before he runs off to play with you.
- Is angry/upset that he cannot play basketball when camping. =)
That’s all! Thanks for reading! <3
