Destroying Pandora

Kaito has finally found Pandora, but in order to destroy it, he must exchange one of the following

Magic: his talent, penchant, and dexterity for magic will be taken from him-- for the rest of his life, he will no longer be able to perform any of the magic that he had so loved.

Memories: no one will know or remember him, as Kuroba Kaito and/or as Kaitou Kid. Any evidence of his existence will have been erased. He will have to bear the pain of being forgotten and unknown-- even to his close friends and family. Perhaps, he will even begin to lose his sense of self.

Mortality: he will have five years to live--- but he won't remember that he ever chose this option. After this, he'll live life the way he wants to, without the burden of knowing his choice, until the day his time runs out.

Thanks for the tag @camille-lachenille ! As I have a particular affinity for smaller, lesser known characters, I’m hesitant to put my actual faves in a poll for fear that no one will vote for them. So here are 5 well established LOTR characters instead, all of whom I deeply love even if they aren’t at the tippy top of my personal rankings:

OKAY you know what we're gonna do this again with some revised staging because I've got polls and I want to see some numbers. So please come along with me on this little imagination exercise...

You are trapped in a time loop.

Through investigation, you have determined the following information with certainty:

you are the only person aware of the time loop. You may be able to convince other people it's happening, but their memories still reset at the beginning of each loop.

the world state resets with each loop. You retain your memories, but physical changes to you, other people, and the environment are not permanent.

no individual choice/action on your part is likely to end the loop. It's outside your control, or else dependent on solving a puzzle/mystery/etc for which you need some kind of resources or clues.

This song plays after an important character’s death. The main character is in shambles and is very on edge to the point he is unwilling to compromise with an enemy who is being sympathetic with him.

A tragic song underlying the lowest point for our heroes. There is no battle theme. There is no grand victory on this map. Every win is just another life taken. Every loss is just further salt on the wound. Yet we must march on. To stand still is to waste her sacrifice. At the least, the rain helps hide the tears.
