the thing about a three way crossover is that the mml one was already so jam-packed with characters that plot points got cut and it was a hodgepodge of an episode and it was ending a story arc and also trying to squeeze in characters from pnf at the same time. imagine adding a third show full of characters to it could you even imagine the chaos

i was hoping to get down then left updated either tonight or tomorrow night but deadlines are fucking my ass so it's not going to happen unfortunately. the chapter is halfway done though. expect sort-of-fluff underpinned with octavius' impending nervous breakdown plus the first installment of the Great Kahmunrah and Attila Corner Office Debate of 2008

So when you're writing, sometimes you get a really good scene in your head. Could be anything, full of action or sad or triumphant. You just know it's awesome.
But for it to really work, you need to do a lot of writing before and after it. Your audience has to be engaged and emotionally connected enough to care about how amazing your scene is. And you have to make the stakes matter, so any earth-shattering you do can't be easily undone later. Otherwise what once felt meaningful will feel cheap.
And sometimes, that just seems like too much. So you just write the scene. Maybe a string of scenes, all of which would be amazing if only they had context and emotional weight.
In general this is fine, because it's a first draft. Or you're goofing around and don't intend to make the finished work.
But sometimes you end up with The Mandalorian Season Three

Similar things happened to Myelin Games and others contracted to add to the lore / grimoire. It's really sad.
Definitely go read The Traitor Baru Cormorant!
"Bungie needs to kill off The Guardian and start over with D3." "The Guardian needs to retire so we can start with a new character in Frontiers." "The Guardian is too overpowered, they need a story where they lose everything or get nerfed."
Bungie needs to stop stifling/firing their writers and find a better format than seasonal content. The issue isn't the story, it is the constraints on the narrative team. Yes, part of it is unavoidable due to Destiny's existence as an online FPS but they could be doing so much better.
And before you say, "You just don't want to lose your overpowered OC!": I'm actually basing this on feedback I heard during my Bungie tour. So.

Next time I hear a take that boils down to “I could write better than BioWare” OR “I know the lore better than BioWare” I’m gonna lock you in a room with four EA execs that have lunch in half an hour and you get to pitch them your ideas.

for roo, how'd your timeline get destroyed in the first place? Also, how did you get rescued from being erased, too?
[ROO] ... i don't know.

so many actors spent years in the trenches. Hugh Laurie was the highest paid tv actor on the most watched tv show at the time and an exec producer of the show and had to resort to just gaying it up on screen. Oscar Isaac and John Boyega were risking assassination attempts by Disney in every interview. I don’t know spn lore but even I know misha collins was in the trenches. And then Michael Sheen just starred in 6 episodes of a show being like “I think this should be textually gay” and the author went “so true king” just like that

It has come to my attention that The Acolyte has been cancelled by LFL a mere one month after it aired and all I have to say is:
Dave Filoni it's on fucking site. You short dicked, unimaginative chode.
This man has had a chokehold on the Star Wars universe with his fucking ridiculous hat and sycophantic lore and I am so fucking over it. And yes I'm fucking blaming him. The ONE SHOW that didn't have his foul stench on it and it just magically gets cancelled by the creative team HE HEADS.
I hope Star Wars dies. I hope all the incel catering execs and Elon Musk boot lickers lose their fucking shirts and get served up on a platter for the proletariat to eat.
Anyway, Filoni can suck my dick. I hope he chokes on it.

this episode is also SUCH a jab at networks and interference from higher ups. the original writer is PISSED that they completely changed his story. then there's all the little jabs from the network exec giving "notes" like "the scenes are too dark can't we brighten them up" "sir this is a horror movie" and the exec not understanding the "rules" and "logic" of the supernatural lore and having them put "explainers" in the dialogue. this is a creative team saying FUCK YOU to the network and it's only season 2. which just makes me think of chuck in s15 portrayed not as a mere writer anymore but as an executive canceling shows bc they won't follow his "notes" as well...it's very loud. and you can say what you will abt the season finale and s15 as a whole and i don't like how it ends either but...everything chuck says to becky...the way chuck is portrayed the entire season...and the fact that the creative team have been fighting (and calling out) the network since so early on it paints a pretty clear picture to me that whatever ending they may have wanted was never going to happen bc of network interference. so they planted those seeds throughout s15 to be like "hey......this is going to be the bad ending. but the network is going to try to spin it as a good ending. but it's not. remember what becky says."

I think this game does so many things better than any DA game (gameplay, exploration, art). The way the missions and companion missions are structured is great, Rook as a protagonist is engaging, it just lacks proper commitment and time. The Weisshaupt mission for me has to be one of the best story moments in ANY Dragon Age game and the greatest crime this game commits is that it didn’t have an opportunity to properly develop, so all i keep thinking is “man, if they just started with this what could’ve been”.
If i were to describe it; i think all the outsides of this game, the “containment” of it, is incredibly strong and good but as you move further inside the circle it looses its grip, that’s where we get to the writing problems, lack of companion content and rushed lore. And this only happened because of EA/Bioware exec bullshit.
If these 10 years weren’t packed with development hell and execs not giving a shit about anything than dead end trends it could’ve been an incredible game. And even through all the shit its been through it still manages to be a very good one.
I don’t know what’s going to happen to Bioware but this direction is great and i hope to god that they don’t shut down and throw away this IP because the potential of it now with this formula is so promising.

as always their intros are here!
random worldbuilding: - Astutes are required by law to wear their class pin on their lapel at all times. I usually forget to draw Amelie w/ hers, since I don't really consider her a strict Astute since she's in Exec training so she gets some leeway - The underground market is run by a few generational ringleaders who consider themselves separate of the class system. All operational systems are run by them, and they enjoy well-established lives, mostly through extortion and illegal smuggling of goods through classes - Technics and Astutes have always had rocky ground. Most Technics feel like the best way to live is to be free in their own personal sense, while Astutes conform to the strict rules set by their class. Laymen conspiracies rumor Execs have been facilitating Technic/Astute class tensions to garner control and sympathy with the former, who have been historically averse to governmental control and regulations - the Technic academy is easier than the Astute or Exec ones to graduate from, although they have the lowest employment rate. This has caused Technics in need of work to freelance their services or specialize in repair shops, especially those working in software. If I have to deal with tech layoffs so do my ocs - Astutes living on campus are rarely allowed outside without an official excuse. Everything they could need to live and work is already provided for them. Why risk having your best and brightest wandering around a dangerous city when you can keep tabs on them all at once?
