The Human Body
It comprises living cells and extracellular materials, organized into tissues, organs, and systems.
It is primarily composed of water and organic compounds, lipids, proteins, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids.
Water, making up about 60% (varies by age) of body weight, is crucial for life's chemical processes, found in both extracellular fluids and within cells, serving as a vital solvent.
The skin and related structures form the integumentary system, safeguarding the body from harmful invaders and chemicals while also preventing water loss.
Comprising skeletal muscles and bones (about 206 in adults), the musculoskeletal system facilitates body movement and shields internal organs.
Incorporating breathing passages, lungs, and respiratory muscles, the respiratory system acquires vital oxygen from the air for cellular metabolism and expels waste carbon dioxide.
The circulatory system, comprising the heart, blood, and vessels, circulates fluid throughout the body, furnishing cells with oxygen and nutrients while removing waste like carbon dioxide and toxic compounds.
The digestive system comprises the mouth, esophagus, stomach, and intestines, breaks down food into usable nutrients, absorbing them into the bloodstream, and eliminates the remaining waste as feces.
Consisting of kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra, the excretory system filters toxins and waste from the blood for elimination.
The nervous system formed by sensory organs, brain, spinal cord, and nerves transmits sensory data, integrates it, and triggers appropriate muscular or glandular responses.
Composed of hormone-secreting glands and tissues, the endocrine system coordinates body processes via a chemical communication network.
The reproductive system, encompassing male or female sex organs, plays a crucial role in facilitating reproduction.
In males, this system includes structures such as the testes, which produce sperm, and in females, it comprises the ovaries, which produce eggs.

Five Pillars Of Optimal Health - Food!
The importance of food and nourishment cannot be overemphasized. The body system comprising of cells, tissues, nerves and bone structure, organs and the entire body system, need nourishment from the breakdown of the food you eat to survive and thereby makes for you surviving. When you consume food, it passes from the mouth through the oesophagus and into the stomach, from there it is broken…

EXCRETORY SYSTEM OVERVIEW -MYA CARE
The excretory system is crucial for the survival of an organism, ensuring that all functions of the body are carried out effectively and efficiently. This system is primarily involved in the removal of waste products from the body. Without it, the body would become highly toxic and quickly succumb to a lethal disposition.

I need more info in the freakvamp au. like. does akito have organs? if not, does that include a brain?if n brain, how think? if have, why? if no blood, there's no way to get water around his body? no blood vessels? so uselessly existent organs??????? HELP
HAHSGS SORRY OP I THOUGHT IT FITS HIS CURIOSITY
but to answer ur question, kinda! he only have those that's beneficial to his daily activity, like his digestive and respiratory system. for example he doesn't have a heart to pump blood because he has no blood to begin with.
the way it works is that akito only digest meat (carnivore moment) and the nutrients from said meat (extracted thanks to the help of his special digestive system) helps his internal organs work just like normal, even better if the meat is fresh + has blood on them. more nutrients means an even stronger body
and for the brains and other parts of the organs, it's really just.. pure meat slob no bones whatsoever (this might make people believe he's weak in general because of no skeletal structure underneath him but his muscle power are way beyond comprehension to balance it out) (he's still an anomaly afterall, he can't be easy to kill)
i didn't actually plan for this au to become a real big thing in this account so i haven't done much research BUT! here's what i think about it so far :3c
#do i even want to talk about his excretory system.#sigh. no. he doesn't shit. i'm not explaining that.#talking abt him makes me forgot that he's a monster that u should be afraid of because he's super hard to kill#and not just. a meat slob#but he kinda is one anyway lol#and also addition to the nutrients from the meat he eats#it also dilutes (?) his 'rotten meat' smell for a couple of while. so it's like eating and taking a bath at the same time#he takes personal baths too don't get me wrong but it's helps the smell a lil if it's from within instead of only his skin#ask#freakvamp au#req#<— just to tag the art

Comet is often the mediator for Fritz and Quinn (oomf's oc) since the two are always at eachother's throats
And while Comet is generally, for lack of better words, more normal than Fritz, Comet is not always as level headed as he should be
So the majority of SOS/the discovery and demolition of the Oort Cloud takes 15+ years, yes partially due to it being a very secretive company but also because the SOS gang (Fritz, Comet, and the rest of the animatronics alongside other horrible creatures) also kept on getting caught up in side quests. Like, one of their biggest discoveries is that the Oort Cloud made a whole company town for their steel company (dubbed Steeldrake) that was full of information but after they raided practically everything they kind of just... took the town for themselves. they decided it was theirs now to make into their own personal kingdom and development of said personal kingdom, alongside everything else they were supposed to be doing, took years
But a very specific debate about the kingdom was whether or not Comet should be allowed to piss on it.
The company town was a desert at this point and they wanted to make it not look super sucky and sad and devoid of life yknow? and comet, backed up by Frederick Fazbear since they're both very extreme environmentalists, proposed that to cut costs, Comet should make an excretory system and MAKE fertilizer. They also argued it was a way for Comet to get revenge.
Everyone else's counterargument was that if Comet pissed on the town, they would never step foot in it ever again and to Comet and Freddy's dismay he was barred from peeing on an entire town
#djmm#dj music man#ntls-24722#(almost) daily music man#djmm oc#also yeah just to reiterate comet has absolutely no excretory system#bro is making no pee#pissless loser lmao#digital#comet#fritz

This week on Soul/Cameron learning id biology (the hard way): acid blood
So, literally just after creating the post about id biology, other owner of the AU and I came up with ids having acidic blood that essentially digests anything it touches and magically gives the id sustenance.
Why does this happen? Well, ids don't have excretory systems nor intestines; the food/drink is partially digested in the stomach, then fully "absorbed" by the blood, which is in and of itself extremely corrosive. How do they get sustenance from something no longer in their body? Why, magic, duh!
Once the food itself is completely destroyed by the blood, the blood is removed through "bleeding", as Heart and Mind call it, in which they essentially cut open apart of their body and allow it to bleed, which is completely harmless and helps prevent an abundance of useless life force.
They also are capable of only surviving off oxygen, water, or food, however require much more of it in order to only subsist off of one of those alone. This is much more easily done by only subsisting off of two of them, but requires more of them.
Anyway, that's today's episode of "how far from a human can AXYER make a human character?" Stay tuned when I inevitably get to sticks.

Sometimes self care is listening to the deltarune soundtrack on max volume in order to block out people talking and not get overstimulated
#i am in the middle of a break period we're spending in our anatomy room#which means like 50 different threads of speaking are going on around ne#which is usually an environment I thrive in but apparently today decided that it was too much#so now I'm listening to the world revolving and reading about the excretory system

...where's the option for "I'm cis and a loser, but want shapeshifting for other reasons"
(though it probably depends on how powerful the shapeshifting is; a lot of the common versions don't sound very useful)
(...and also maybe I'm technically not quite cis. Still a loser though. Which is honestly one of those other reasons.)
#shapeshifting#cisn't#not trans but close#also depends on how much I need to define to shapeshift#wouldn't want to accidentally turn into something that can't breathe because I messed up the respiratory system#or the circulatory system or the digestive system and I'd rather not have to worry about the excretory system at all#honestly if I could try out being the other sex for a while I probably would#assuming it would be easy to just turn back if I don't like it which I suspect I won't#honestly I'd probably want to have multiple bodies at once but I'm not sure this is covered by shapeshifting#I've been doing a CYOA recently and it was like “OK you also get shapeshifting to help you get your ideal body”#“as unlimited as it can get except it has to be physics compatible so only three dimensions sorry” <- nearly direct quote from the CYOA tex#and then the rest was like “what kind of furnishing you want in your room” come on if I could shapeshift I'd want very different furnishing#and then there was an option that was like “you get a huge pool! and by the way you can turn into something aquatic to play with it better!#so it's not like I could even pretend they implied that the shapeshifting was a one-time event - it was definitely intended as multiple-use#I really should get back to that particular CYOA by the way it was really neat#transhuman-priestess polls#found via foone

bugs molt internal organ lining??? how does that work; they don't have the same firm lining as a bug exterior, right? where does the lining like, go, does it get re absorbed into the body or shuttled into the excretory system or. my whole world is rocked by this rn
not like their entire digestive tract, but the upper parts of it, plus the lining of their spiracles (breathing tubes)—basically any part of the exoskeleton, including the parts where the exoskeleton goes inside the body (think of the inside of your mouth—it’s skin, more or less).
for the spiracles, it’s got to be pulled out, so every time you see cicada shells (the most easily spotted exuviae, in the NE USA) and you see the little white strings, that’s the lining of the tracheae. that’s another reason why molting is so dangerous: if it happens incorrectly then an arthropod cannot eat or cannot breathe.
photo is from cicadamania, no credits there

Round 1 - Phylum Xenacoelomorpha
(Sources - 1, 2, 3)
Xenacoelomorpha is a small phylum of bilaterian invertebrates consisting of two sister groups: xenoturbellids and acoelomorphs.
These are small, flat worm-like animals found in the sediments of marine and brackish environments. Some have even been found near hydrothermal vents at depths of up to 4 km (2.5 mi). All species of Xenacoelomorph are hermaphroditic and reproduce sexually. Interestingly enough, they lack an excretory system, yet all genes related to the excretory system are present… except for Osr, which is needed for excretory system development. They also lack a coelom, or body cavity. They have a digestive system but it lacks nerve cells. All in all, a little animal someone forgot to finish.
Propaganda under the cut:
Folks I just found out about these today, uh
Check the links in the sources they can tell you more than I, I’m sure

favorite shark?
BULL SHARKS!
they have a remarkable tolerance for variable water salinity, so even though they typically live in the ocean in warm coastal waters, they can easily swim upstream to hunt in brackish and even fresh water. they've been sighted at several different points all the way up the mississippi, and show up in basically any bay and estuary in texas, along with many different local rivers, sometimes several miles from the shore. sometimes hurricane floods and storm surges will strand them in otherwise isolated lakes.
when i was a kid and found out about that, i was CONVINCED from that point on that ANY natural body of water in texas not only could, but did have At Least One Bull Shark in it. because, theoretically, under the right circumstances, there really was a nonzero chance that a bull shark was in there. now i love them for the exact same reason. it's a really fascinating adaptation!
basically, the bull shark can do this because its excretory system can adjust what it's excreting depending on what the shark is drinking/absorbing in the current environment.
in a very simplified explanation: freshwater fish excrete large amounts of dilute urine, but retain salts; saltwater fish excrete large amounts of ions in very concentrated urine to retain as much water as possible while constantly drinking/absorbing water as they swim. other relevant factors include the permeability of the skin to water and ions, the absorbtion of water directly into the bloodstream via the gills, and the naturally "salty" urea-heavy blood present in shark circulatory systems.
this process is called osmoregulation— controlling the proportion of water and solvents as they move in and out of the body— and involves the kidneys and liver, as in humans, as well as a special excretory organ called the rectal gland, which is unique to sharks. the kidneys, liver, gills, and rectal gland of the bull shark all modify their absorption, secretion, and reuptake of water and ions as the shark moves into lower salinities that would easily kill any other shark.
also...... they're chumky
