It’s been two weeks.

Two weeks since you said those four words. Two weeks since he’s seen you. Two weeks since you walked out of his life. 

Seungcheol knows it’s his fault, he’s not dense, and he’s not trying to trick himself into something he knows isn’t real. And he damn sure isn’t letting his friends talk poorly of you for leaving him, not when he knows it’s his own doing. 

He might not have been the best boyfriend in the world, but Seungcheol loved you. Damn it did he love you. He loves you, still. He never stopped and probably never will. You were his first love, fresh out of debut and still a confused young adult.

You’d been together for the better part of five years, despite your short breaks in between to study abroad or to ‘find yourselves’. Five years he’s spent loving you, regardless of how much he showed it. He wishes he showed it more, wishes he told you more. Then maybe he wouldn’t be sitting in this bar, nursing a beer as he watched his friends play a drinking game he had no interest in. Maybe he’d be with you at your apartment, watching a movie on the couch or out on a date, walking along the river hand in hand. 

But that’s no longer Seungcheol’s reality. He’d ruined his chances with you once and for all. It was a blow out fight, one that started because Seungcheol missed a date night. Again. For the third time in a row. You yelled back and forth at each other in the living room of your tiny apartment, he definitely said some things he wishes he could take back, and you told him to get out of your life once and for all. In the heat of the moment, he did. He walked away and naively thought you’d be back to normal the next day, like usual. 

Instead, Seungcheol was met with silence in the form of his number and all SNS being blocked. When he finally worked the courage up to go over to your apartment, he realised you changed your door code and despite standing outside in the hallway knocking on your door for over twenty minutes, you never answered. That was when Seungcheol knew it was really over. 

“Cheol, c’mon, cheer up man,” Soonyoung slurred to his left, starting to get past the point of ‘too drunk’ for a Thursday night, “she’s not worth-”

“Don’t finish that sentence Hosh.” Seungcheol warned, not wanting to hear another one of his friends ‘pep talks’ about how you didn’t deserve him. Because that couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth was he didn’t deserve you. 

Soonyoung heaved a sigh before turning away from his elder and looking at Mingyu instead, opting to continue his drinking game rather than deal with a grumpy leader. Seungcheol silently thanked him and turned his head towards the entryway again.

That’s when he saw it. It being none other than you, the girl of his dreams, the woman he’s loved since he was 19. Except, you weren’t alone. And you definitely weren’t down in the dumps like Seungcheol currently was. No, you were smiling and laughing and you had your arm linked with someone. A man. A tall, handsome man with a sharp nose and cheekbones and thick, dark eyebrows. In a way the man you were with reminded Seungcheol of a more handsome, taller version of himself, and that thought made him want to retch. 

He looked away as quickly as he could, trying to mask his hurt with another sip of his beer which only succeeded in making him feel even more nauseous. It seemed the only one of his friends who noticed was Joshua, ever the perceptive one. 

Joshua gave him a sad, tight-lipped smile as he took in the scene at the entrance of the bar, slinging his arm around Seungcheol’s shoulder to give a slight squeeze of comfort. There wasn’t much anyone could do or say to make him feel better. He knew it was his fault all along, but to see the consequences of his actions right in front of his face…. It felt like a cruel sort of punishment. Of all the bars you could’ve chosen tonight, of all the places in Seoul, it had to be this one? Seungcheol chuckled darkly. Karma really was a bitch, wasn’t she?

“You want to head back to the dorms?” Joshua asked from his right, voice low enough that the rest of the table wouldn’t hear. “I didn’t drink, I can drive us.”

Seungcheol didn’t even need to think about it, immediately nodding at Joshua’s questioning. He knew Joshua wouldn’t question him further, wouldn’t make him talk about his feelings, or whatever. He was the kind of friend who would listen if needed but gave you space otherwise. Seungcheol appreciated that about his friend, more so in this moment when Joshua led them both outside through the back entrance, avoiding seeing you and the mystery man you were with. 

As they made their way out of the bar and into Joshua’s car, Seungcheol did his best to hold back his tears. He couldn’t cry now, wouldn’t cry. He would wait until he was in the comfort of his own room before he let the tears fall and the memories of the last five years replay on repeat.

jouno’s eyelashes - a quick analysis

yes im analyzing jouno’s eyelashes. im obsessed with him what can i say.

one thing i’ve noticed throughout my many rereads of jouno’s segments of the manga is that he is actually given eyelashes in a lot of the panels he is present in! often times they’re just thin white lines but they’re definitely there. here are some examples.

now, if we recall back to what harukawa said about eyes a long time ago:

the darker ones eyes are, the more tainted or corrupted a person is. someone who is doing good and/or feeling good may have whiter eyes. to rephrase, one who’s eyes are dark are typically doing something corrupt and/or are in an emotionally bad state. we see this numerous times throughout the manga with many characters, the shade of their eyes changes with their emotion at the time usually.

now what does this have to do with jouno? well, i believe his eyelashes are used to display his intentions since he keeps his eyes closed constantly.

now, there are definitely some exceptions to this. panels where his eyelashes are small could be hard to colour this way, so im looking past a few instances for that purpose.

anyways, i believe looking at his eyelashes in this perspective also hints towards his betrayal of fukuchi, since you can see he has good intent. more on this later.

i'd also like to preface this by reminding you that jouno believed he was in the right with most things he did. he was sure the agency was in the wrong for a long time, times where his lashes were white while dealing with the agency was likely because he believed himself to be doing what is good.

now, starting with his debut in chapter 57, his eyelids are almost completely black as he arrests dazai

his eyelashes appear a bit darker as he torments people i find.

such as shortly after he slices kunikida's notebook and asks tetchou to kill yosano.

one scene i actually want to put a lot of emphasis on here is chapter 78's interaction between jouno and kunikida.

here is his face when he first walks in, he's simply making small talk over how a terrorist attack is awful

we can see his lashes pretty well.

we can also see it well when he's talking about his asian pear. maybe he just really likes them.

however, as the conversation progresses onto tormenting kunikida, his eyelids casually grow darker.

they're not completely black yet, but you can tell he is enjoying bothering kunikida despite his claim of innocence.

after this, you can see his lashes are a little brighter as he announces that yosano is going to be executed.

this makes sense remembering that he is under the belief that yosano is guilty of terrorism and is getting the punishment he believes she deserves.

after this, jouno walks away as kunikida cries out in anger.

his eyelashes are almost completely black here, likely because he is getting nothing but personal enjoyment out of kunikida's grief. he isn't doing good by this and this could definitely be seen as corrupt behaviour.

a huge contrast to what i've been saying falls in chapters 71 and 72, the cafe scenes.

you can see the white of his eyelashes in nearly every panel he's in.

what makes this different than when he was bothering kunikida is that bothering the cafe owner was moving his case forward. he believed he was pursuing justice and doing what is right by extracting important information here; as opposed to doing nothing but mentally torturing someone who isn't improving his case. from his perspective, his actions weren't tainted in anyway except possibly approach, but since he was doing what was right his eyelids were painted white.

another example of this is in chapters 60 and 61, when he is fighting the agency for the first time.

and when the agency escapes and he's surprised to find out the pursued terrorist group would have allies in chapter 62.

i found that these three chapters had a lot of small panels where you couldn't really see the detail of his eyes, but generally they were white as he caught the criminals. they were also white as they escaped, since he was likely confused that people were easily supporting the group he perceived as evil.

my last example of this is his eyes being very white as he tortures the bank robbers in the flashback scenes in chapter 92.5.

he believes that he is seeking justice here. the robber gets what they deserve, and his intentions are what he believes in just which explains his eyes being white.

anyways, to summarize this all: jouno's eyelashes colour often displays his morality. his lashes seem to be coloured more white when he is doing what is morally right from his perspective. even if what he is doing is considered brutal by most, his eyes glow white if it is in pursing of justice or good. in contrast, if what he is doing has no overall benefit and he is just distressing someone for purely his own enjoyment, his eyelids often are coloured much darker.

however, as i said above i believe this subtly hinted at jouno's betrayal of fukuchi.

in chapter 92, we can still see by his eyelashes that he has the right intentions when hunting for the agency.

and towards the end of the chapter we see his eyes still have a small white streak, implying his bluff on actually being willing to switch to the other side. at the same time, the thinness of the lash could be so small because he is lying to his superior as well, which i suppose could also be seen as tainted behaviour.

however, after fukuchi's plan is unraveled we see the brightness shine again.

as i stated above, when he isn't doing what he believes is right or is tormenting people for no reason but his own enjoyment, his eyes look black. but if you look at the image below you can see his eyes are partially coloured white, hinting that he was going to do what was right. it is subtle colouring, i assume that is partially due to the fact that his face was rather small on the page. but regardless it is still noticeable.

and what do we know? he did switch up and betray fukuchi shortly after saying this.

with that in mind, there's one scene i deliberately avoided bringing up until now; the scene i believe heavily tries to avoid hinting at jouno's betrayal of fukuchi. im referring to the scene where jouno confronts aya.

as i said, if jouno is acting corrupt towards someone for his own fun, his eyelids are dark, but if he's doing something that he believes is just his lashes remain partially white. i believe that out of context his eyes would likely be black as he torments aya, however since he secretly had good intention they would have actually been white.

however, the readers had yet to know the context of his approach until the end of chapter 93, so they needed to hide the fact that he may have had good intent here.

so harukawa kept his eyes covered (or coloured his face differently) throughout the scene.

the most we see of his face in this whole scene is his side profile, which is small enough to not need to colour his eyelashes in.

i believe this was an intentional choice to keep the readers from guessing that he was doing something he believes is right here.

anyways, to sum up this segment i believe that jouno's eyelashes in chapter 92-92.5 subtly hinted at the fact that he was indeed siding with aya and was preparing to betray fukuchi.

in conclusion, i believe jouno's eyelashes hint at his true intent a lot. they show that he is a good person hiding behind a facade. the shading of his eyelids is a lot more subtle than how most character's eyes look in the manga, which i believe helps add more to jouno's somewhat moral ambiguity. he is an incredibly well-written character and i can't wait to see more of him!

King's Landing Daily- Wicked takes Westeros!

The musical phenomena, Wicked, has taken over King's Landing, with the movie's premiere and theatrical debut breaking box office records and garnering high praise for its lead actors. Daella Targaryen since primarily known for her talent in the art of classical ballet, was a shock to most when she was cast as one of the female leads, Glinda the Good. Indeed, while there was never any doubt of her dancing abilities, her singing chops were called into question leading up to the film's release. But the youngest Targtower sibling has been studying performing arts since her days at the very exclusive, elusive private school Oldtown Girl's Prep. When she returned to King's Landing, she worked at a ballet studio while she obtained a degree in Performing Arts. As per her preference for a quiet life, she's stuck to performing at the ballet, and teaching classes to the children of Westeros's Elite, and so a foray into the film industry surprised many- but she hasn't been a disappointment, rather, her performance has left us all, including her harshest critics, struck silent. She attended the premiere with much of her family in tow, it seems that if it's one thing the Targaryens are going to do, it's show up for each other. Much like with the premiere of Baela Targaryen's film on Old Valyria, the family showed up in full force to support Daella. She arrived with her four siblings Aegon, Daenora, Helaena and Aemond, but walked the carpet alone so as to talk to press and greet fans, and take pictures with her cast members. Her mother, Alicent Hightower, attended with her spouses Rhaenyra and Daemon, and to the shock of many, the elusive Hightower patriarch, and Daella's grandfather Otto Hightower, attended with his wife Stevonna. Gwayne Hightower and his girlfriend Sienna arrived not long after them, the family speaking to few members of the press, all of them singing Daella's praises.

Alicent answered a few questions for us, and said, "I'm just attending tonight as a proud mother- exceedingly proud. I haven't even seen it yet but I already know it'll be amazing, that my girl will be amazing. She's so talented, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be tonight." She and her spouses didn't linger, Daemon ushering his wives inside quickly.

The Targtower siblings graciously stopped and answered some questions, Daenora speaking for the four of them whilst Aegon and Aemond stood with a very pregnant Helaena Targaryen between them. "My sister's been working insanely hard for this, and we're so proud of her. She deserves her moment in the spotlight, for people to see how talented she is and how hard she's worked. I don't care about people who thinks she was wrong for this role, because the minute she opens her mouth to sing, I can say with certainty that those people are gonna shut up pretty quick." She told us. When we asked about Daella's two sons, Baelon and Aenar, and the other young Targtower children, Aegon told us that there'd be a private at-home screening for the kids to see, but Aemond cut our interview short when more questions were prodded about Helaena's latest pregnancy.

Gwen Lou Sabuki: Sabuki was a member of the original (junior) Invaders (the Kid Commandos) crew, along with Bucky Barnes and Toro. She has 6 total appearances, the most recent of which was in a flashback, back during the Original Sins event, in which she prevented the U.S. Military and the original Invaders from wiping out Japan with an artificial tsunami.

Blaine "Kid" Colt:

I WILL DEFEND COLT WITH MY LIFE

Ok, I know that nobody reads the Marvel Westerns except me (the vast majority of comments I see on comics sites about them are some variant of “I’m just reading this for completion’s sake”) but Kid Colt is the reason I actually sat up and paid attention to the 1940s-50s Westerns. He’s been through several new origins, and all of them are superficially similar to the first origin we saw laid out in his debut (Kid Colt, Hero of the West #1) but they ALL miss the POINT of the character.

In the first year and a half or so since his debut in 1948, Colt was written by a specific author, Ernie Hart, and he establishes over and over again that Kid Colt is, a violent, traumatized young man who has chosen the life of an outlaw and has no regrets about any of his decisions.

In the first Colt story, we learn that he’s very skilled with a gun, but chooses not to wear guns because he knows his temper means that he would probably draw and kill someone if he had them on him. He endures the ridicule of the other townspeople and even his own father, who doesn’t know his reasons for refusing to wear a gun. But his father is murdered by law enforcement to steal his land and cattle, and Colt is framed for it. He takes matters into his own hands, kills the lawmen (beating one of them to death with his own whip in the process), and leaves town.

For the next eight issues, and the other Western titles he appears in at the time, Kid Colt rides alone for the most part, but consistently goes out of his way to help other outlaws who need it, and affirms over and over again that being a criminal does not make you any less human or deserving of dignity- but he is merciless with lawmen and judges and sheriffs who abuse their power. Sure, he is sometimes lonely, and once or twice considers settling down, but ultimately embraces his new life as an outlaw, and enjoys the freedom it affords him.

The only times in the Hart run, iirc, he considers settling down is with an entire community of people who show him love and concern (particularly, and notably, there's a young man who tends him back to health, though this ends in tragedy). Colt also has no problem getting help from people because he is a charismatic, kind man- he very rarely finds himself in a position where he can’t get help from a local (unlike, say, Rawhide, who is perpetually a target but that’s a post for another day) But regardless, Colt is popular with ladies, but settling down with a woman for love is something that he can never do, and he says as much more than once. There are several ways to interpret this, but this aspect is another one that vanishes when Hart stops writing Kid Colt.

1950, the year Hart stops writing Colt for whatever reason, is around when the Comics Code Authority really started to get some teeth. You can even read letters in the actual comic itself in the lead up to 1950 put in by the publishers talking about the ongoing debate about the moral content of comics, and one of the first things the new writer does (Leon Lazarus) is revamp Colt’s backstory. On the surface, it’s mostly faithful - but it changes the fact that Colt kills both the Sheriff and his deputy to one shooting the other and Colt accidentally knocking the Sheriff off the cliff. The textbox epilogue says he was “accused” of murdering lawmen, implying innocence. But it also completely removes the rage element from his backstory- in this version, Colt doesn’t carry a gun because he doesn’t want his skill to draw in a bunch of gunhawks, claiming he had a brother (who had never been mentioned before, of course) who got shot in the back because of his skill with a gun.

Needless to say, these two changes remove the most compelling things about the character. Crucially, unlike a lot of other Western heroes who find themselves in this predicament, Colt as written by Ernie Hart has no interest in proving his innocence. Colt becomes an outlaw because he sees no other way forward- but he never looks back. He honestly does not believe he did anything wrong and has no interest in justifying himself to the world. But under Lazarus, and pretty much all the later writers, suddenly he hates being an outlaw, and wishes he could prove his innocence, except it’s impossible. He pines after women he meets once. He is suddenly respectful to lawmen and judges and won’t raise a gun against them even to save his life or the life of another. He says shit like “I might be an outlaw but I don’t act like one.” They might as well have just made a completely different person.

Don't get me wrong, there’s some good stories that show flashes of who Colt was in the beginning, but most of the life is leeched out of him, and this is definitely true in all the modern versions of Colt that we have. In The Sensational Seven, Colt is for some reason turned into a boorish douchebag who only thinks about sex. DeFalco’s Kid Colt oneshot, in addition to having a lot of Confederate apologism, goes with the blandest, most toothless version of Kid Colt possible, and that asinine “Moving On” oneshot by Tony Isabella in Marvel 1001 is just. It’s not any sort of a satisfying completion for his character arc, and there's untapped ground withi

A Second Chance | Billy Hargrove, The Bassist.

Warnings: Second Chance, Modern!Band! AU, Bassist! Billy, Designer! Reader.

Billy had never believed in love. His parents never loved each other, never showed him what love was, and he never knew how to show it, at least not until he met the most important people in his life: his friends. They were always there for him, they cried together, laughed together and made messes together. He loved them all equally, except for her. A beautiful, jovial, cheerful, sarcastic and very, very, outgoing girl. Billy loved her, no, he adored her, she was the love of his life. When they started dating, they both couldn't even contain their excitement. Billy was just making his debut on Midnight, his fame wasn't big yet, but he was satisfied with his life, but, unlike him, that jovial girl he loved so much didn't think so. She loved him, very much, and she knew that, if he stayed by her side, his fans would not stand for it. She knew this environment well, and she could not allow herself to be a nuisance for Billy, to fulfill that dream that excited him so much. That's why, one of those many nights when they stayed together at each other's house, she made the horrible decision to leave him a letter with a clear and concise message: 'We broke up, please don't look for me'. And so, without a second thought, she fled his side forever, leaving Billy torn up inside, with hundreds of questions and zero answers. Now, years later, their past seems to haunt them relentlessly, something that, for both of them, causes them indescribable fear and desire.

"I see we meet again," Billy said, walking up to your side with a glass of wine in his hand.

"I'm afraid so" despite your immense urge to vomit, you took your whole glass in one sip, trying not to expel it out of your mouth the instant after.

"We have a lot to talk about" he looked at you, fixed and deep. The guilt began to return, too strong, too sudden.

"No, we have nothing to talk about" you set the cup down on the marble balcony, afraid to use too much force, but it didn't break, so you just went on your way. Or at least you tried to.

"You know better" Billy stopped you, taking your wrist firmly, but without hurting you.

He pulled you close to him, too close for your liking, too close for your heart. He was afraid you'd leave him again, that you'd go away without explanation, that you'd be just a passing person in his life, leaving a mess in his.

"I deserve an explanation" his warm forehead collided with yours. Their breaths mingled and your lips parted. You wanted to tell him, you wanted him to know, but the fear was greater, your desire to run away was even more so, "just...don't leave me, not again."

(The red ones are seen from your point of view, the black ones are narrated from Billy's point of view). After the epilogue there will be a description of the character that is with Billy and her name (this is because in the other parts of Midnight series the character appears and could be confused with the reader of that story) anyway, I will avoid as much as possible the important physical descriptions like skin color, eyes, hair, etc.

Turtles Encounters Her First Full GMMTV Upfronts Experience: A Personal Journey Into GMMTV2024

LOL, I don't mean to be dramatic -- I was around a little bit (?) last November for the GMMTV2023 upfronts, and I honestly did not know what was going on, except to scream about Cherry Magic Thailand. Back then, I was much more of a Japanese BL gal (see: Cherry Magic), but now I'm down with the GMMTV scene, as it were, through my Old GMMTV Challenge project, and I'm ready to wax on deez trailers.

One huge overall note: YES TO DUDES NOT BEING IN BRANDED PAIRS. Your Gawins, your Ohms, your Thors, your Joss-es. YES. This is an exciting line-up to me to see the dudes getting mixed up. As much as I loved Be My Favorite, I don't need to see GawinKrist again.

I am stealing the formats of the wonderful @bengiyo and @neuroticbookworm to offer my thoughts on the trailers! (My list is literally gonna look like everyone else's list, LMAO).

FUCK YES

My Golden Blood: Joss, Gawin, Mond, Neo. Vampires. Blood. Baseball bats. LSKDJFLSJDFLKSJDGLKJSDLGKJSLDKGJLDSKF. The SFX are gonna be SO BAD. Joss sucking Gawin's blood will be SO FUCKING GOOD. I AM STILL SCREAMING. OBVIOUSLY.

Kidnap: Ohm Pawat's next BL. While he had previously said that he wanted Bad Buddy to be his last BL, the bullying scandal that he encountered this past year makes this decision a sensible one to get back on the brand engagement train. His co-star, Leng Thanaphon, is gorgeous looks like he's making a strong debut. I am very happy for Ohm, but I think I am a bit spoiled by knowing his previous non-GMMTV oeuvre so well (Make It Right, Dew, He's Coming To Me), and I'm feeling like GMMTV isn't pushing his acting chops as much as they used to. (Meaning.... I'd be okay if he left GMMTV one day to do more movies.) Time will tell, but I am happy for him -- he is a king of BL, the most prevalent actor on the OGMMTVC list, and this'll let him rebuild his career. He deserves it, and is a personal fave of mine.

Wandee Goodday: YO. So obviously this looks intriguing! But like -- I'd expect Golf Tanwarin to be doing this for another network. Full-frontal, heavy (HEAVY!) sex talk, smoochin' everywhere. I'm impressed GMMTV is going here. It's perhaps because I have Domundi on the mind heavily with my recent ZeeNunew education, but I have been feeling as of late that GMMTV has been choosing fluff and/or crap romance (SEE: DANGEROUS ROMANCE -_-) over... pure sex, as it were, and this is getting closer to a Domundi-style show than even where Only Friends went. I LOVE THOR. I LOVE THOR!!!! I'm excited for this, and me likey the looks of Inn.

On Sale: I am LOVING this new we're-not-in-school-we-are-just-insane TayNew era. And Jan is a FAVE FAVE FAVE of mine, and looks like she's gonna level this show the FUCK up. I'm SO INTO THIS.

Pluto: For sure I am watching this for Film (oh, and hi, Thor and Arm!). I'm not the biggest Namtan fan? I wasn't the biggest fan of her acting in Midnight Museum or UMG. Kinda flat. But she's at the top of the popular actress list at GMMTV, and it's great that someone of her prominence is flirting in the QL space. Film, though -- Film has CHOPPPPPPPPPPS and will likely eat this role. We might never get EarnPear, but this might be close.

My Precious: For NanonFilm, anything. But this is just the movie with more scenes, right? I don't know if it was ever going to get international distribution as a movie anyway. K. I'll buy it!

My Love Mix-Up: See here for my initial thoughts. I came to Thai BLs from Japanese BLs. Kieta Hatsukoi was one of the first JBLs I discovered specifically through Tumblr. Japanese BLs are so varied -- and I think, when one is watching JBLs, to have a gentle/general sense of how sex is perceived/managed/dealt with in Japanese culture. I'm not gonna get into this too much here, but the ways in which Japanese and Thai societies deal with sex is very different. Anyway. I think my own mental dissonance on this conversation is coloring my thoughts on My Love Mix-Up Thailand/Kieta Hatsukoi Thailand. Pairs are not repeated in Japan (unless you have second seasons of the same show), and to have an established branded pair in GemFourth in Ida and Aoki's roles -- I'm just, I'm not sure. I don't want the show to feel pressured to go to a place it wouldn't go to without a branded pair. Will Thailand pay homage to Ida's unique and inquisitive demi identity? Can the branded ship economy manage that? I dunno. Let's wait and find out.

Summer Night: I'm going to be gentle on this one. I like that Phuwin takes on various het roles. I happened to LOVE HIM in The Warp Effect. And I like Bimbeam in here -- she actually showed some firm chops in 55:15 Never Too Late. Only if the schedule allows will I take this one, but I actually like the smell of it a bit.

Ossan's Love: What in the EarthMix. Ossan's Love was often cited as queerbaiting material for early Japanese BLs (EDITING TO ADD: just want to clarify that that statement literally came from my early days in JBLs reading Twitter; thank you to @twig-tea and @nieves-de-sugui for the clarifications in the comments!); I have never watched it, but understand its importance in the Japanese BL repertoire. I'm gonna remain sus on this until we find out more. (Although, I'm VERY EXCITED to see a channel like TV Asahi break out of the Japanese paradigm of not collaborating with other countries to get this on Thai TV air. TV Asahi and TV Tokyo for Cherry Magic are real groundbreakers, and I do dig that.)

Only Boo: When I was talking about this show with friends, and @neuroticbookworm said "Book's in this," I WAS LIKE, WHO'S BOOK? LMAO. Let me see Book away from Force for a GOD DAMN SECOND. I know we don't know anyone in here, but the actors actually seem strong! This was a fun preview.

We Are: Lots of couples. PondPhuwin, MarcPawin, WinnySatang, Aou and that other dude. What is this, a New Siwaj show? I might have enough to watch next year without needing to watch ANOTHER school drama. We'll see.

Another favorite au I've never talked about in this blog is omegaverse which is a pity because it's one of the ones I like the most. Soooo even tho I don't know how to write smut...let's take a shot at it shall we?. At least for Kanthony Polin and Philoise

Kanthony: as an extremely headstrong Omega with a very sweet smelling younger Omega sister, Kate pretends to be an alpha to scare off unworthy suitors, using a scent blocker. Everyone buys her ruse except this one extremely dominant Alpha who really seems to want to get close to Edwina, but Kate won't let him, Edwina deserves to be mated for love and she's going to fight Anthony every step of the way. When it comes to Kate, Anthony has never smelled a better Omega in his life, which is made worse by the fact that everyone seems to think she's an Alpha, when Anthony knows she's not!. It doesn't help that her Omega challenges him at every turn, this sort of thing from an Alpha would certainly not be a problem but coming from an Omega her behavior just stimulates his Alpha's desire to campture, subdue and dominate her. If she doesn't start acting like her designation, it's going to make Anthony snap and bed her into submission. For Kate, it really doesn't help that her Omega is almost feral in it's possessiveness, Kate doesn't want Anthony around her, but neither does her Omega want him around others. And his Alpha likes that too much. Really, accepting that invitation to tour Aubrey Hall is such a bad idea. But she just had to say yes to spite him.

Polin: because she grew up so repressed Penelope has a health condition that makes Omega scent almost untraceable to the normal people. As a result everyone thinks she's a Beta and she's given up on love.( No matter how delicious a certain third son Alpha has always smelled to her). The only times she feels she can truly be herself is when she's writing Lady Whistledown columns, which is when she feels actually heard and seen. Colin on the other hand has known the scent of his mate since Daphne debut. The problem is that the scent comes and goes, sometimes it can be in a ballroom for a second and then completely disappear, only to appear again somewhere else and disappear again. He swears he even tracked it down to the Featherington house once, only for the scent to disappear again and reappear near the house of the Featherington solicitor. It's maddening. And nobody believes him about it. So he thinks there's something wrong with him. When his good friend Penelope decides to enter spinsterhood, and he begins seeing more of her, the maddening Omega scent begins showing up more frequently and it drives his Alpha more crazy, why is his Omega hiding? He needs to claim her!. Penelope on the other hand is trying to get her stupid scent flares under control before Colin figures out she's lady Whistledown, Besides didn't Colin say he'd never mate Penelope Featherington in his wildest dreams? They're obviously not mates no matter how delicious he smells to her. And she really can't help how much her Omega blooms in happiness whenever she's doing LW things. Penelope is determined not to let Colin interfere, she's lived her life without making mistakes and she's not going to let her designation give her away, not now this close to retirement. But the moment Colin suspects Penelope may have a secret lover, he follows her, catching her in the act and nothing is there to stop a furious Colin from chasing after her and claiming her. Not even Penelope's stubborn insistence that she's NOT HIS MATE. It doesn't help that he just went into a rut, that only she can take care of and Now he just won't let her go

Philoise: everyone in Mayfair knew Eloise was that weird Omega who never ever wanted to have pups, which made it unlikely she'd ever find a mate one day. So when Penelope asks her to check on Cousin Marina's widow on her way to Benedict's estate, Eloise thinks nothing of it, after all she's been exchanging letters with Sir Phillip and he's never been anything but extremely polite with her. It's not until she's actually in Romney hall that his scent hits her, the scent of an unmated Alpha in his prime, with two motherless pups. And for the first time in her life Eloise nonexistent nurturing Omega instincts kick in. Because those two unruly pups need so much, how could Sir Phillip allow them to go without being held for so long, Eloise can't believe their first instinct when seeing an Omega in their territory is to try to drive her out. They need to get clean clothes, they need to be better feed and definitely a better nanny. Eloise can't just leave while they're so hurt. Alpha smells like mate but Alpha has been bad, Alpha needs to be re educated!. As for Phillip, he never expected the sweetest smelling Omega in the world to burst into his life and start giving orders. But she's so perfect his Alpha would gladly follow her to the end of the world. He's never been a conventional dominant Alpha, he doesn't think Eloise needs him to protect her, but she does need the comforting presence of an Alpha who will accept her as she is. And if she's started to build a nest with his things he'll pretend he doesn't see it. After all he needs to prove himself to her first, Phillip just needs to show her he can be a good provider and good father for the pups who already love her so much. Meanwhile Eloise knows it's just a matter of time before her proximity to Phillip's decadent scent triggers her heat and she needs to get to Benedict's estate before she begs him to mate her. But the pups don't want her to go, what should she do? She's never had pups need her before, Phillip needs her too, Alpha would be so sad if she... Oh gosh this is not the time for a breakthrough heat! And Did Phillip just growl?

Okay, I'm going to say it: Carol Danvers gets far more hate than she deserves. Granted, how she written can be criticized, but, yeah, some of the comments are indeed coming from a sexist place and when you think about some others don't make sense.

First off, for anyone who wants to see them adapt Rogue stealing Carol's powers, I wouldn't get my hopes up. They spent all this time building up Carol in the MCU, I imagine Bree Larson is still under contract, and Fiege seems pretty happy with her. Secondly, that arc only happened because Chris Claremont was disgusted by the treatment of Carol in the infamous Avengers #200 and didn't want to see her undergo that again -- and hell, Claremont also brought her back and turned to her into Binary, starting her return to prominence. I wouldn't be surprised if X-Men '97 adapted Carol's return. Do you really think the whole "Rogue drains Carol of her powers" is going to be repeated now? Especially since they won't repeat the story that led to it in the first place.

Secondly, I don't want to crap on Monica Rambeau, but putting aside her being named "Captain Marvel" in-universe by the press and unless I missed a retcon, she didn't actually know Mar-Vell personally; hell, in her debut, she didn't know about Mar-Vell until talking to the Thing. Carol actually did know Mar-Vell personally, so she actually has a legitimate claim to the name. Hell, she has a better claim to the title than anyone except maybe Mar-Vell's kids. Granted, Monica got treated poorly herself at times (let's not forget that her tenure as Avengers leader only ended because the late Mark Gruenwald had a bug up his ass about anyone who wasn't Captain America or one of the founders being in the post).

So, again, no offense to the character of Monica Rambeau, but who's more deserving of being a successor to someone: someone who actually knew that person personally or a complete stranger who didn't even know that the person even existed until they'd just taken up the name?

NMTDaily: Hero and Ursula’s Transmedia Accounts Debut

- I don’t think I ever knew that Hero had a transmedia Instagram account. That’s new to me! I’m excited to see what else she posts on it throughout the series.

- I do remember Ursula’s tumblr but I don’t know if I ever scrolled back enough to see the photos in the most recent email before. It’s extremely cute that she includes links to follow “My Friend Hero”, “My Friend Bea”, and “My Friend Ben”. She’s a sweetheart. Ursula deserves the world and so much more appreciation.

- It’s also really interesting that she considers herself friends with Ben before the events of the series happen to combine the two halves of the friend group. It’s probably because she’s best friends with Balthazar and he’s the crossover friend who is close friends with both the girls’ group and the boys’ group. I think it’s very possible that Ben doesn’t fully realize that Ursula thinks of him as a friend and not just an acquaintance because she’s so quiet and it can be hard to know what she’s thinking. Now I’m really interested in what their friendship would be like. They probably wouldn’t hang out one on one, but they would enjoy each other and never quite know how to tell each other that. Which is definitely a type of high school friend experience people have that rings true to me. All from the tiny detail of her linking to his channel on her tumblr. I wonder if he links to her channel on his? I bet he does, I have to look out for that.

- Update: oh my god I just scrolled through Ursula’s tumblr and saw that she posted Ben’s first vlog and mentioned in the tags that she helped him edit it! He “tried to do everything himself” and almost managed it, apparently. That says to me that he was probably complaining about how hard editing was, and Ursula offered to help. And I checked, he thanked her in the video description on that vlog. Ben and Ursula canonically hang out and edit his first video just the two of them???? Excuse me, this changes so many things. I am now obsessed with the Ben and Ursula friendship. This is definitely, for Ben, an example of that thing where social anxiety makes you kind of selfish and unappreciative of the friends you do have, because you dislike yourself so much you never believe they really like you, and then you hold them at arm’s length and never realize that’s literally why you’re so lonely. Ben probably feels like he doesn’t know how to talk to Ursula because Ursula is so quiet, and I bet she can get overwhelmed by him, but also sees that his heart is in the right place. And this makes Ursula yet another friend who has doubtless hung out with Bea and Ben separately and heard them complain about each other, so of course she’s on Team Love Gods. She’s just so dear and eager to help her friends, I love Ursula.

- I am also still sad that Ben never had an in-world Tumblr account I could have followed. It’s not story-necessary, but I’d have liked it.

- I kept thinking the grass was bugs and getting scared, but I still like seeing Ursula’s nature photography. She’s definitely growing up to be a pro videographer/photographer/director/cinematographer or something.

- Ursula also posted a picture of a TARDIS cake she and Hero baked for Bea, which, first, why are there not more Hero and Ursula friendship fluff fics AND Hersula ship fics about them baking together? I love this. They are so cute and sweet.

- Does this cake post mean we have an approximate canonical birthday for Beatrice? Baking a cake for someone feels like a birthday thing. It was posted on March 30, so is Bea’s birthday March 30? This is huge, I don’t think we ever got anyone’s birthday except Hero’s elsewhere in the series! Unless the cake is a belated Welcome to Auckland cake? I haven’t rewatched Bea’s first video yet, I’m terrible, I know, so I don’t remember how long she’s been in town. They didn’t actually say it was her birthday, so it’s probably a Welcome cake. Oh well. Still sweet!

- Also, the tags say the cake is banana cake! So Beatrice already likes Ben’s favorite food, and she’s definitely a huge fan of Doctor Who even though she downplays that to avoid praising anything connected to Benedick. She’s so stubborn, I love her, and they are meant to be. This will not be the last detail indicating how much they have in common and see eye-to-eye. I love all of it.

- I also love that this isn’t the last themed cake to appear! I remember the dalek cake from the pizza party later in the series. Ursula and Hero were hobby bakers and shippers on deck from the start!

- The email with the cake post is titled “putting the Who in superwholock”, which is so incredibly 2014, and also makes me realize that the NMTD characters were really only WhoLocks, none of them were Supernatural fans that I remember. I just find that funny given what a behemoth it was and is on tumblr. I don’t blame them, it’s the one of the three I’ve seen the least of too, it’s just amusing. I actually don’t know if it ever even aired over there, to be fair.

- We also got Bea’s first tweet, in the email with her first video, but it’s pretty simple, nothing to dissect. We get some good tweets later on, though! I promise I’ll make a post about Bea’s first video before the next video email on Wednesday. I’ve decided I don’t have to post recaps day-of, I just want to do them eventually.

I watched a youtube opinion video and had to go off on this topic:

Five or even seven year contracts are a benefit to both the company and the artist. If the artist isn’t successful right off, they are assured multiple years of support from their company. NewJeans got sooo lucky.. sooo lucky OMG they had such great debut releases.

Reminds me back in the day of BlackPink and how much they popped off except it was MORE because BTS opened up the US media industry and because of the heavy impact of TikTok, which BlackPink did not have back in the day. They had it all but now they’ll be know for being complete screw ups.

What was their comeback? No idea. It was completely forgettable. MHJ was dealing with a lot at that time but the comeback should have been planned long before …ACCEPT she already had plans to seperate from HYBE and plans for devaluing stock. So there was ZERO benefit to her making their comeback a success.. because that would only increase Adore’s value. NewJeans got deeply screwed over by MHJ but have been gaslighted into thinking they can’t do without her. She is not the only talent in the world.

As Hybe has shown with ILLIT they know how innovate of off a trend, they can take a young girl group to the top. There are people in Hybe who would support NewJeans wholeheartedly. Day by day the point of no return approaches. Some would say they have passed it. I say not yet. As the FiftyFifty situation showed us, it takes just one member to come back and they get to move on with their lives. No lawsuits. No penalties. Just continue on like it never happened.

Who will break? Time.. Time will tell. Time is against NewJeans and against MHJ.

The irrational support MHJ and NewJeans got from the start of this insane situation is responsible for how far off the deep end they’ve gone. That’s support is waning now. If they got the backlash they deserved right away they would not be on such a high precipice now. Since mediaplay is responsible for at least part of the initial support, this was a self made trap. It is a lie they fell into.

The danger with lying is that it’s hard to keep a hold of reality. They lied so well they lost touch. That’s why we’re all so confused by their behavior. We’re living in the real world. They’re in their liar’s palace. Where contracts end just because you feel like you’ve paid off investments. Where visas don’t exist and top notch dance studios are free. Where you live in a million dollar apartment and someone not greeting you is workplace rights violation deserving of the same attention as lives lost.

This whole situation has been such a mind f*k and it’s genuinely sad because it is a true loss of potential. NewJeans are going to spend their best years mired in legal battles.

Some part of me suspects that MHJ just didn’t have another successful comeback in her. She did all she could and got incredibly lucky with it but when time came for the next step she had nothing so she deflected to a new plan: get independence. It doesn’t matter how much NewJeans bombs if the goal is bringing the stock price down. Such a big windfall for MHJ panicked her because all she saw ahead was comeback after comeback after comeback of failure in this incredibly competitive industry. That’s why it was so important for her for BTS to leave. Comparison is a thief of joy. And one thing BTS does is put a huge mirror in front of every ‘successfull’ Korean artist. Only they have been actually able to stay on top and go higher every comeback. They make it look easy but it’s an incredible feat. A feat MHJ was not ready to match. So she changed the goal. She changed the game into something she could handle. Complete chaos, complete insanity, and new grift.

She is a complete narcissist. I don’t think there is one marker that she doesn’t check off on this list. The worst part is that she’s dragged NewJeans down with her but in my opinion that is a big case of “if I can’t have them then you can’t have them either”. She is okay with destroying NewJean’s future as long as she gets to suck the last bit of reputation support out of them and Hybe loses something. Because she lost so big. And she’s has a lot more loss her future. And she’s a very sore loser. Such a shame that NewJeans are the one price she can exact.

1070 days.  

Ryujin had successfully debuted with the girl-group ITZY and was considered one of the prodigies of the fourth generation of KPOP.

You were extremely proud of her for achieving her dreams, but you couldn't help missing your best friend. Living alone now, Ryujin had to stay in the JYP dorms with her bandmates, and you didn't get to see her that often as she was always busy.

Despite her promises to take you to her concerts, you never saw any colors appear. It was always the same haunting grey, and you were starting to lose hope. You would stand near the stage for every concert, and look down below at the sea of fans and see only a tinted grey version of the world.

However, your photography work blew up on the internet, and you landed a job at W Korea. People praised you for your exceptional talent in black-and-white portrait photography, describing your work as "chefs-d'oeuvre of the shadows". You were acclaimed as the shy but talented photographer who could see beyond color when, in reality, you were just a soulmate-less Wayward who had not managed to gain an ounce of color visibility back in the past two years.

Time was running out, and you were panicking. You had not managed to cross paths with your soulmate at all, and you would think they didn't exist if it weren't for the magnetic feeling in your veins.

"It's for the best," you tried to convince yourself, attempting to stop yourself from finding and interfering with the life of your soulmate. They deserved more than being tied down by a random person in the world.

“We’ll need all staff on hand for this shoot,” announced your manager, Seulgi, during your company’s weekly meeting.

"Why? I have my day off that day," drawled your coworker and close friend Karina, who sat next to you with her lips pursed in annoyance. The raven-haired photographer was definitely not a fan of working overtime.

"Because we will be having a photo shoot of all of JYP’s artists for the announcement of their world tour," explained Seulgi, who then walked over and patted Karina’s head as if she was petting a child. "I’ll give you guys an extra week off for this gig."

Karina harrumphed, trying to hide her satisfied smile.

"That sounds like fun!" squealed Danielle, "Do you think we can get free tickets to their concert? I had a blast during Twice’s concert last year. I can’t wait to see them again this time. Do you think they’ll collaborate with other groups? I think they'll probably have a collaborative stage with ITZY, and Nayeon will try to h-"

"Make her shut up, bro," groaned Minji, nudging Hanni.

"It’s too early for this."

Hanni quickly clamped her small hands over Danielle's mouth, shutting her up immediately.

"Thank you," Seulgi smiled gratefully at Hanni before continuing. "Since there are many groups in the line-up, we have arranged five days for the photoshoot. This includes group photos, individual shots, and all JYP groups together."

You groaned internally. Photoshoots like this often-meant extreme work schedules and lack of sleep. At least you’ll be able to hang out with Ryujin a bit during the shoot if you were lucky.

It was also a good thing that your team consisted of a bunch of funny weirdos who took their jobs seriously, making work a bit more bearable.

Seulgi was one of the most compassionate and understanding managers you could ever ask for and had a knack for calming down your icy CEO (and her soulmate), Irene.

Karina was a talented photographer and filmmaker with stunning visuals. She shared the same perspective on the soulmate connection and knew about your temporary colorblind situation.

"I'd rather live and love freely for five years and die happy," Karina would say when asked why she wasn't looking for her soulmate. You and Karina clicked immediately when you joined the team, and she reminded you of Ryujin, whom you've always wanted to introduce her to.

Minji, Hanni, and Danielle were the “kids” on the team. Despite their youth at only 18 years old, they were all exceptionally talented at their jobs. Minji, the serious and soft-spoken visual director, collaborated seamlessly with you and Karina and often kept the other two rowdy girls in check. Hanni, the lighting technician, boasted her ability to eat bread for a week straight without feeling sick. Danielle, the talkative and positive force of nature, put all artists at ease with her makeup skills and welcoming demeanor.

After the long meeting that seemed to drag on for hours, you took out your phone to text Ryujin.  

As you gazed at your phone, a faint smile crept onto your lips. Despite not understanding the reason, you felt an unusual sense of anticipation for the upcoming shoot - almost eager even. You told yourself that it was simply the prospect of seeing Ryujin again that excited you, but the faint prickling sensation of your tattoo hinted otherwise.

It seems that with the announcement of the shoot, the bleakness in your eyes gradually subsided, replaced by a subtle, soft grey hue. It was as if a glimmer of hope had entered your world, and the shadows had transformed into mere whispers of grey. Previous chapter Next Chapter

Changes in Wordgirl: Exploration

Let's talk about some of the changes our project makes to the original show's timeline. Since Wordgirl: Exploration takes place when Becky/Wordgirl is 12 while she's 10/11 in the show, it's safe to assume that most if not all of the show's events are canon to Exploration. However! We're a reboot not a continuation, which means there are things we've changed either to fit the narrative we want to tell or because we didn't like how something was portrayed in the show (Go Gadget Go is non-canon).

Everything listed here are changes we can't organically explain in our episodes, so you might see hints of what's in store for Wordgirl: Exploration. There's also some changes missing on purpose because we can fit them into our episodes.

Character Changes

Huggy got an upgrade from the show. He's got a prehensile tail now that he can use during fights (he's a monkey after all), is capable of changing color (excellent for sneaking up on villains), and has limited shapeshifting. He can't do much with his shapeshifting, just enough to make him look different than his secret identity or give him a small advantage during fights. Separate from his shapeshifting, Huggy is able to unhinge his jaw like a snake to consume massive amounts of food. It's definitely the ability Becky finds the most disturbing but boy has it really helped in a lot of fights against the food based villains. We just felt it was a little unfair that he didn't get any powers when he's just as alien. He still got the short end of the stick compared to Wordgirl, but they both work with his powerset as best they can.

Wordgirl and Kid Math have more alien traits because they deserve it <3 No one really questions Becky's less human traits. When you've got Chuck and his brother running around, a 12 yo girl with fangs and weird eyes isn't anything noteworthy. Kid Math's cape being traded for wings does mean that he doesn't fly like Wordgirl anymore. He buzzes around like a giant math obsessed dragonfly while Wordgirl treats gravity as an option.

It's an extremely minor thing but we took away Chuck's height. In the show he towers over almost all the civilians. We like short Chuck better, so he's only 5'6" now.

Sally is Afro-Latina and therefore has taught Becky and TJ Spanish. Becky is a natural, and since Ms. Question is also Afro-Latina, they both enjoy having someone they can talk to.

Squeaky is a woman now. We support women's wrongs <3. Also consequently Dr. Two-Brains is non-binary now as he's a fusion between a cis female mouse and a cis male human.

Story Changes

Okay, let's talk Kid Math for a second. In the show, Kid Math shows up at the start of season 7 and quickly gets established as an overeager but inexperienced superhero who's got a lot to learn about being a hero on Earth. They even seem to set it up as Wordgirl taking him under her wing and teaching him all she knows, which would have really shook up the status quo. Except they didn't. He's only been a background character ever since. Which is wild! This kid is just running around! He could have helped with Rhyme and Reason but he didn't! So we're changing how long he's been on Earth. In Exploration, Kid Math made his debut only a week ago. He's still very new in the public eye and Wordgirl is keeping him under close watch. As a result, he's going to be showing up in quite a few episodes.

Becky never tried to tell her dad and TJ she was Wordgirl. Honestly, her telling them did nothing for the show other than tell the audience her backstory. So in Exploration she has yet to tell her family and has made no attempt in the past.

Ricky’s point of view

In the week we had time to prepare for our first studio session, I was a mess. Not one song felt right to me, my mind was on a completely different dimension, and Lexus wouldn’t respond to any of my messages or calls. I was completely lost, and I didn’t know what to do at this point.

Chris heard about everything that happened, and he wasn’t happy at all. He tried to make me let her go for the sake of the band. Yes, we have a big chance now with her to go above and beyond, but I couldn’t stop my feelings for her just like that. Especially when I know it’s all my fault.

Now we were in the studio, waiting for her. I couldn’t pretend nothing happened or that I was heartbroken. While I was making a plan to talk to her after, she entered the room, making all my thoughts go away. Even though she greeted us, her eyes would not dare to look in my direction, and I could feel we both shared the same sorrow.

“Alright guys, being the first day I don’t necessarily want a name for the album, so any song you think is almost done would be great. Just to get an idea of what you want to do. From there, I would be happy to help you with the rest.”

Chris came closer to the rest of us to decide on a song. We had 3 songs we worked on really heard, but none of them were close to be done.

“I think Porcelain would be fine. What do you guys think?”

Good song, but I don’t think it’s the best idea to be the first song she will hear from this album. I had another idea in mind.

“Let’s play Cause of Death. I think she will like it more.”

“But you have a part in it as well, and the last time we tried to play it, you weren’t using your voice properly.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll do my best.”

Lexus’s point of view

They started to play their song while I wrote the name of it on a document. I hated to do all this paperwork, but it was a part of my job. Chris said that Ricky would sing a part of it as well, and that made me really curious.

From the very first seconds, I knew this was going to be a really good song. I loved everything about it. As I have a lot of new bands, making their debut album where they have a lot to learn, I missed these moments when everything will be perfect from the beginning. You can clearly see the years of experience they had.

The whole time, I was looking at everyone, except Ricky. Something in me missed him deeply this past week, but the other part of me was almost set to send Motionless to another label. Of course, I wouldn’t be able to do that, but still, that thought crossed my mind for a second.

I was absorbed by their song, loving every second of it. But Ricky’s turn made me to finally look at him.

While he was singing, I felt like he was looking directly in my soul, not just in my eyes. Until the song finished, I couldn’t look at anyone else but him. Chris was the one to bring me back down to earth.

“So, what do you think?”

“It’s perfect, guys. Of course, you still have to work a little bit on it, but I loved it. Congrats!”

While they were cheering for their success, I stood up, only wishing to be alone in my office. After I closed the door, I tried to catch my breath, thinking about what happened. Of course, he wrote those lyrics to get in my mind. But this time I had to be careful, to not suffer once again because of him.

Someone knocked on the door and I thought it would be Stephanie, to get all the documents I signed earlier. But there was Ricky, with a sad expression on his face.

“I’m sorry. I know I messed up really bad this time, but give me one more chance, please.”

“What story do you believe now?”

“Yours, of course. Look, I talked to some friends who happen to know Corey. Everything you said was true. But they all keep it behind the scenes for his image.”

“So, you still had to check which one of us was lying. Ricky, I’m sorry, but I’m really tired of this. Please, leave me alone.”

“Alright, I’ll go now, but I promise you something. A long time ago I realized we were made for each other and one day you’ll be mine, and I’ll be yours, officially, for eternity.”

Hello, I'm sorry for the intrusion (and this might be really weird) but I was browsing the Sonic Underground tag here on Tumblr and I came across your sibling + tails redesigns and in the tags you were asking "please pretty please somebody ask me questions about my tcof!au" and I know that you made that post two years ago and I'm incredibly new here (only followed pretty much today) so I don't even know if you're working on it anymore but this is my personal request to hear all about it because I think the Sonic Underground characters deserve more love than they typically get

AWWWW not an intrusion at all!! i don't really think about that AU all that much any more but i can dump all the ideas i had for it!! I'll put under the read more : ]

ANYWAYS the original concept of the au was literally "Tails is in Underground" and spiralled like crazy from there. it was originally inspired by Starrjoy's Pandora AU (on an indefinite hiatus but worth checking out if you havent already, Joy is a phenomenal artist and a really sweet person : ])

The actual story had the same premise as underground naturally. Robotnik took over Mobius and Aleena sent her children away, under the guidance of a prophecy. years later the triplets reunite and begin their search for their mother and their fight against Robotnik.

Except the search goes on a long time, and Sonia Manic and Sonic get older, on the run, until one day Sonic runs off on his own. he ends up in a town where he tries to blow off some steam by attacking the SWAT bots stationed there, when he finds a small little fox with two tails!! and Sonic is like welp! better take this cute little thing with me, and thats that. he brings tails back to the van and Sonia is mad and Manic is confused and Sonic has gotten them all a new little brother.

from there things continue as usual, looking for their mother, except now Aleena has a loophole in form of Tails. Since he isnt a triplet, she will visit him when hes on his own to check on him and the others. A lot of other things happen, so in bullet points here are some of them

the Debutants ball of course still happens. except its good and Sonia is wearing a better dress

Jules (like. from Archie Sonic) is a character and was Aleenas husband, before being roboticized. he gets rescued at some point by Aleena and Bernadette (also the Archie Sonic character. i dont need to explain myself)

Bernadette is a member of the resistance and later becomes its head of intelligence. she Jules and Aleena have worlds most epic Polyamory relationship

Aleena wasn't given the prophecy in this, she made the prophecy herself in an attempt to give her and her children a way out during Robotniks inevitable takeover of the kingdom. shes spent years adhering to her own rules in hopes her magic would eventually save them. she has clairvoyance among other abilities

Amy is also here, shes one of the children in the Sanctuary, he got really mad when Tail joined the triplets because Sonic has told her on multiple occasions that she couldnt come with them because she was too young. She ends up going out on her own and finding her Piko Piko hammer and becomes a hero in her own right. which she DOES rub in his face later

Knuckles is there, his main role is similar to the show but like. he ends up way more involved. ends up being a bit of a resistance outpost and regularly hosts Aleena on angel island.

Sonia ends up loving Tails (naturally) and in an uphill battle trying to teach him class and mitigate Sonics "good for nothing influence"

Manic loves Tails at first but ends up feeling kind of useless in light of Tails genius. Tails still can't figure out the van though and Manic is so proud of this

because tech is Tails thing, i needed to give Manic a thing, and because his mother can do magic, Manic inherited it. he can do illusion stuff (fits in well with his sleight of hand/pickpocket theif stuff) he's been unconsiously weaving his magic into his inventions for years, hence why Tails can't figure out the van even a little

Oh Uncle Chuck is also here, he works in the resistance and sent Bernadette to help Aleena. He also introduced Jules and Aleena

also worth mentioning that Tails feels really terrible about not being involved in the prophecy. hes doing everything he can to help, but he does really feel like a part of the family, by virtue of being excluded by the prophecy

Anywasy as the plot progresses, the prophecy gets harder and harder to maintain, Sonic gets more reckless and more irritable and so on. Sonic never really likes the prophecy to begin with, and likes to act out against it. hes a firm believer in the direct action route.

Eventually the prophecy fails. Aleena, Sonia and Manic are devasted and Robotnik wins again.

except Sonic isnt ready to let it lie like that. the prophecy never meant anything to him, so the prophecy failing did nothing to break his spirit

HONESTLY i never fully thought out how it ended, all i know id that Sonic had to overcome the prophecy and Tails had to play a very important role in it

As Catiny’s main vocalist - who do you think has the spiciest vocals in kpop right meow?

Well, the spiciest vocals come from Changmin, who is a level 2 spicey boy at MOST. I mean, the 240105 Music Bank high note for "Down"? I don't know how half the boy groups didn't immediately vaporize as soon as he did That. I know it was probably just that he didn't hit the note at first, but he made it sound so good with that dissonance resolving into whistle register? (I would say something about Nissan Stadium Forever Love but until that's back up on YouTube I refuse to contemplate it so I don't burst into tears) But I'm a hater and don't like him so don't put him on the list.

EXID's Solji might not be active right meow, but she just did that musical so she counts!

Of course BTOB, Eunkwang and Minhyuk especially, I mean, "Boom" era was everything to me.

All of A.C.E, obviously, the world is a little brighter for their comeback. I can't wait for Donghun to absolutely devastate me again, but friendly reminder for your daily required viewing of their It's Live performance of "Goblin".

WayV's Xiaojun, I know Mujin Service is pitch corrected but the sheer emotion in "Ashes" is too much. He doesn't need to do as much as he does at all times, but thank god for it.

Does Forestella count as kpop? Because they've got the spice and the spicey vocals. All of them, but Woorim's wife was right to lock him down after that performance of "Bad Romance".

I might be ride or die for Seonghwa Main Vocal When, but back in like February 2021 I said San from Ateez strained a lot and he said "why would you say such a thing? btw hi lesbians" and just immediately went fuckin insane. I'm bummed it happened after they stopped actively promoting it but I will never shut up about how when he gets a mic for "Turbulence" he saves the whole song with that modulation to keep it from being a diminished fifth. I know he's a great dancer but he's vocal line for a reason. Watch "Breathe" btw.

SPEAKING OF "BREATHE"!!!! [edit: I got too excited to jump into IU that I forgot to finish this, sorry, I know it's a Lee Hi song] Lee Hi is that good good alto and the fact she had that voice at debut? We Love Altos.

IU!!!!! GIRL!!!!!!! No list of spiciest vocals would be complete without IU. "Love Poem" should be a UNESCO World Heritage piece of culture. I love her and I can't believe you're keeping her hostage and away from us, Addy.

Fun fact: DK is actually short for "DyKe rights" (editor's note: this is not true) and my sister will let me blast "Hot" in her car specifically so we can vocalize along with his chest voice there. He's got such a good ear.

The Boyz genuinely has some power vocals. Why do you think his name is SANGyeon? That video of him singing in a parking lot plays behind my eyes while I try to fall asleep.

Shownu simply does not get the credit he deserves as a vocalist. His voice is more subtle, so maybe not particularly spicey, but he's my husband and I will not let him go unappreciated on this list. What's the opposite of spicey? That's how I feel about I.M, except he's actually got interesting vocals, he's technically weaker but I think that makes him more interesting vocally. Plus he's the King of Vocal Fry (complimentary).

Another vocal fry master -- Taehyun from TXT. I feel so much about that kid. Most of it good.

For the hags, all of 2pm! (I'm not taking antipsychotics right now so I'm allowed to be delusional and they're active in my heart.) "Make It" was THE song of 2021, no notes at all. And "ADTOY" had no right to be that good. Also we love grown men being grown up spicey.

Woodz, don't talk to me about enlistment if I don't acknowledge it then it isn't happening. The live versions of "Chaser" and "Trigger" and "Accident" and and and and? I think his harmonizing gets overshadowed sometimes by his vocal power, especially since he has to harmonize with his backing track rather than another singer, but bro... bro... Also he was the closest to a Changmin "Mirotic" note, I will ignore any arguments to the contrary.

Red Velvet's Seulgi has really good vocals when she's given the chance to flex them, I really wish we could hear more from her. Underappreciated, tbh.

Highlight's Dongwoon, do we need to talk about that performance of "Fiction" again? Because I will talk about that performance of "Fiction" again. And I choose to believe his scene in "Good Luck" is part of the most watched section because of that little C# Major moment. Yeah his only other band mate Yeoseob is good but I gotta give the crown to Dongwoon. Also his outfits from last May's concerts were so spicey.

I'm so excited for Chungha's comeback. I know she's not really appreciated for her vocals since she's definitely a pop vocalist, but "Play"! I'm not even mad when she uses playback on music shows, she's in chest voice enough.

I can't believe I'm about to put a manlet on this list but Hui's got the spice. He's got the vocals. He deserves. That's all.

And how about Doyeon from Weki Meki. Siyeon from Dreamcatcher (omg that "Overdose" cover). Ailee, obviously. BB Girls Yujeong. Sistar just as a whole but especially Hyolyn, "Layin Low" changed me as a person and I swear it wasn't just the Nicole Kirkland choreo.

Okay I've just powered through so many Vocalists that my brain's been turned to mush. Tell me what else you think!
