Remember that whopper of an egg Baldric laid ! ( poor girl !) . Well it was a double yoker!! . And look how yellow they are ! . That’s home grown organic eggs for you ! From my ex battery hen girls who I ve had for 2 years - making them 3 1/2 and they lay eggs like it’s going out of fashion tomorrow ! . So if you want a couple of chickens - who will lay you eggs .. who you can save from being slaughtered after working their butts off in little cages for 18 months .. over heated so they lay each day .. going bald because of the heat .. stuck in little cages where they don’t even get to see the sun.. and if they don’t find a new home .. they get slaughtered for things like hot dogs. How unfair is that? . . Hello my name is Baldric ... I m a girl honest .. but when I was rescued from a battery hen farm... I looked like I d been boiled .. I had hardly any feathers .. my quill was pale and so were my eyes .. it broken my human mamas heart to see how sorry I looked .. me and my sisters .. . . She’s loved us .. given us our best life to roam and feel the sun on our backs .. watch rain and snow and wonder what it was .. eat bugs .. scratch up the mud , ( even eat her veggies !!) . And look at me now! . I was called Baldric because I looked as bad as Baldric from #blackadder , but now my name is a badge of honour for how far I ve come .. plus I lay the most amazing eggs. . . We said goodbye to little Pearl last week. To anyone that thinks eggs don't cause harm, Pearl can tell you otherwise. At just 2 1/2 years young, her reproductive system, that humans turned into a machine, could take no more. Chickens are very good at hiding illness and by the time we noticed a change in her behavior, it was too late. 💔😢 Please learn from Pearl. Stop eating eggs and using hens.
