tbh if we get a woodland cascades expansion, besides being very exciting in terms of revisiting issues surrounding the centaurs and the aftermath of the charr civil war, i also think it would give them space to expand on some stuff from SOTO— namely, stuff involving the bastion of the penitent and the mursaat— in a way that would be extremely cool and probably help with some of the “disjointedness” people feel with the ward’s place in tyria. fingers crossed baby

But he wasn’t going to back down now. Hissing slightly,the paladin casts a quick clemency on himself to top him up just a bit but it seems a goblin was taking this as a advantage to strike at him.

AL WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN. There are two very specific characters in Re:Zero who are known for having silver hair. You being connected to either of them would have very serious implications. I have no idea what those implications are, but they would defiantly be there.

What's with your face? What does that mean? What are you hiding????

Wait... So presumably Al is talking about Reinhard, right? At this point in the timeline, he would presumably be a child, and in Lugunica. But that begs the question HOW DOES AL KNOW ABOUT REINHARD??? Earlier in the story it said that Al was on the island for 10 years, so how would he even know that Reinhard exists? What do you know???

So interesting reveal here - It seems like Al doesn't have anything like the Taboo where he can't tell people about his ability to rewind time upon his death. Nobody seems to believe him, but still. Interesting.

This moment is just very cool to me. The visual of Al just standing there, not even willing to approach the Hornet to give her a quick death because of the slight chance of him having to do this all over again, is very compelling for me.

This is another interesting thing, because at some point Al does decide to leave the island, so something in the future causes what his goals are to change. But I guess I'm not going to find out what that is either.

So two things: Firstly - Yep, I'm sure Ubrik's dead. The fact that there is an arc 8 interlude named "Ubilk", which looks like a differently translated version on Ubrik's name is probably a total coincidence. I'm sure he will never be relevant to the greater story of Re:Zero again. Secondly - YOU HAD A TEACHER??? WHO WAS IT?? WHAT DID THEY TEACH YOU???? I WANT YOUR SECRETS AL!!!!!!

Well, that was Ex5. I was hoping get some answers rearing Al's whole deal, and instead I just got many more questions. Still a fun read though. More importantly, with the Ex novels finished, it means I can start reading Arc 7.

EX5: Inscription of Labyrinth and Chapter 19: A New Divide Spoilers.

The first few years of Luna's life, her birthday was, like for many children, a day to celebrate. Cake, presents, a day centered all around her; what was there not to love?

But ever since the Virus came, on her birthday no less, Luna has associated her birthday with sadness. Grief. It wasn't a day to celebrate anymore.

She lost her parents before her eyes from her and Lucia's bedroom window. Her town was slaughtered by the Corrupted. Her happy life, destroyed before her eyes. Her birthday turned into a day of mourning of the life she could've had, used to have. The happy childhood robbed from her.

Lucia only got away with the lie of them being in a live-action movie shooting until Lucia was about to be hurt by Corrupted, and even more so after they left their old home. Luna realized it was all very much real.

Naive kid she was, but even at that age, it was hard to keep up such a lie when the world outside was also crumbling, and she realized they would never go home again.

Luna didn't see her birth as something worth celebrating after enough time passed. Both because all she could think about was how she lost everything on her birthday...

But because she eventually grew to see her birth as the day all of Lucia's problems began. If only Luna were never born... perhaps Lucia could've lived a better life.

The entire world, would've fared better without her in it, and that is an undeniable fact. Everything would've been better if Luna never was born. Never would she have become an Agent, never would she have caused trouble for Lucia.

This mindset grew stronger with time, and came to its climax during Chapter 19, when Luna lost her will to live with the loss of her Agent powers and the loss of her resolve in her dream.

Her hatred had faded. She was simply... tired. She ceased lying to herself that humanity's doom was her desire, and that it would create the world she wanted.

Now, Luna was lost, exhausted, and full of self-loathing. Now, Luna believed herself useless. A burden yet again to her beloved sisters.

It would've truly been better if she were never born, if she never gave her sisters false hope with the declaration of her dream of a paradise for them.

She who served as the moonlight to look towards no longer could protect them like she claimed she could after her Ascension. She couldn't repay them for everything they did for her now.

Indeed, her birth was never a day to celebrate, in her eyes.

It was the omen for all the terrible things to come.

It would be better, then, for the name 'Luna' to be erased...

Until Alpha's message reached her via Roland delivering it to Luna on the moon.

"—Your birth made me your 'sister', which is lucky for me. Thank you for coming to this world, Luna."

With this, Luna found what she needed to reignite her will to live. This reminder of her sister's love for her. This irrefutable proof... that she didn't see her birth as some bad omen.

No... Alpha was truly thankful for Luna's birth. Thankful to be Luna's older sister, in spite of all of the pain she endured because of Luna's heart, that was far too soft for it's own good.

With this, Luna's resolve returned. She knew what she was fighting for, what she wished to fight for above everything. Not humanity's destruction, but a peaceful world for her and her sisters. A paradise they could live together.

A paradise where humans reside, too. For after witnessing humans fight to the end for those they loved from historical records via Huaxu, to the Gray Raven Commandant clinging to hope even in the darkest times, to witnessing Babylonia not abandon those of the lunar base...

Luna's heart was touched.

And so, Luna would seek a different answer; to prove humanity's worthiness to pass the Filtering. To exist in the world the Ascension-Network sought. She wished to create a better world of coexistence, not this destruction that currently ravaged the world.

The Ascension-Network accepted her once more, as the pioneer of this different answer; perhaps she'll reach it, perhaps she will not. But her resolve was heard, and the right to explore this possibility was granted.

And with it, Luna has began to see herself, and her birth, as more than just the beginning of misfortune for those around her.

It was the birth of a girl named Luna. A girl who dreamt of greater things since she was young. A girl who, through it all, only wished to protect her family. A girl who has resolved herself to change this world.

Her birthday isn't a day to mourn anymore. Because it was the day she became Lucia's sister, and that's lucky for her.

Now... she's glad she came to this world, in spite of all the pain she endured; for through it all, there was always her warm memories of Lucia, and that hope for an end to the pain.

And so, the girl of pale moonlight returns, resolved to bring her dream to life.
