Now you guys can send stuff to the characters of yokel godneu now, but they are some rules for it, all other stuff will be moved to core!tami’s dumb ask disposal service.
Rule number 1: don’t send anything that will harm them.
Rule number 2: you can not send trolls or anything useless.
Rule number 3: treats and gifts that aren’t that larger are allowed.
Rule number 4: if it’s a character’s birthday, Halloween, and Christmas, it will be a special day where you can give bigger gifts, but on Halloween, you cant give them gifts but instead, give them gifts, unless it’s their birthday.
Rule number 5: you can ask for birthdays to know the exact date of their birthday
Rule number 6: only a certain number of gifts can be given out a day, and only a certain number for each individual
Rule number 7: you can ignore these rules in case of the rule of funny, but don’t push it
Also here are some rules about the magic anons.
Rule 1: magic anons can not be repeated on the same character.
Rule 2: magic anons can not harm them physically or get rid of them.
Rule 3: magic anons aren’t permanent, and can only last for around 20 asks maximum.
Rule 4: you can add characters with the magic anon, but they will stay around for as long asked.
Rule 5: as long as the magic anons last for, you can not use a magic anon, and once the magic anon is over, you will have to wait for a couple of asks to do it.
Rule 6: you can ignore all but the time limit rule, if you want, but only if it’s funny.

as someone who has been playing mysme since the release and developed a hyperfixation as soon as i first laid eyes on the edgy mysterious twink, i just want to say how annoying i find the soft retcon of Saeran's redesign.
the deal with his eye colour and hair colour has never been explained throughout the 9 years of the game's existence so the fandom developed their own crazy theories about the elixir genetically changing his appearance, which i was sure was fanon bullshit up until the Ray After Ending release.
and you know what, okay, him still looking like Ray/Unknown/Evil!Saeran in the AE might be chalked down to very little time passing since he was rescued from the cult. what i find more annoying is the new official arts consistently depicting him with the white hair in what is clearly intended as post-canon content. do they really think we won't be able to tell the twins apart if they both had red hair???
just look at the 707 AE Saeran. what a beautiful little tomato. the red hair is such a clear and natural sign of him accepting both himself and Saeyoung and healing from the years of brainwashing and hatred.

does the red colour clash with his pale skin? maybe, a little. but should you really pick aesthetics over essence when you are writing a story about IDENTICAL TWINS? a story where you have already defined the white haired, ghostly look as an unhealthy state of the character whose happy ending is about accepting his past and reuniting with his twin brother, whom he had been brainwashed to hate by the designated Evil Manipulating Story Villain?
in the originally released After Story for Saeran, following 707's route good ending, he looks like a washed out, unhealthily pale copy of Saeyoung. he is meant to look a little off-putting, because that's the literal visual depiction of his physical and mental state, which was amazing writing!
this is the healthy, default state of both characters, because they are identical twins. it was their separation that had started the tragic backstory for both Saeran and 707. on top of lying to the boys and forcibly separating them for no real reason other than Evulz™, Rika had altered Saeran's physical appearance, erasing all physical likeness to Saeyoung that she could. it doesn't really matter whether she had convinced Saeran that it would be safer for him to look different, if she had asked him to dye his hair and start wearing colored contacts or if she had painstakingly developed a chemical formula that would permanently change his eye and hair colour, as ridiculous as that particular theory is, the point is that looking the way Unknown does would certainly be associated by Saeran as a very dark place in his life. that would be the time when he had less agency over himself than he ever did, and we are talking about a person who was often physically restricted, starved and deprived of water by their primary caretaker since they were a child. other than MC in the Ray route, Saeyoung would be the only person who had ever cared about him since he was born, and Rika manipulating him into despising his brother, from Saeran's point of view after he learns the truth and has the time and safe space to self-reflect would be especially cruel. Saeran is naturally a very affectionate and loyal to a fault person, who is extremely insecure and believes he doesn't have anything else to offer to the person he cares about other than his loyalty.
for this reason, i firmly believe that whatever is the actual reason behind his hair and eye colour, Saeran absolutely would dye his hair red if anything just to show Saeyoung physical evidence of his forgiveness. my headcanon is that even if his hair does keep naturally growing out white, he would dye it for the rest of his life, so that his past as Rika's brainwashed lapdog can be left behind him, instead of buried in the nearest mirror.
for his eye colour situation, i still don't believe the colour was permanently changed, unless Rika was fucked up enough to make him go through a surgery treatment for that, but this is an angsty scenario for another day. my interpretation is that both twins have horrible eyesight from staring into phone and computer screens for 75% of their waking time, but unlike Saeyoung who had bitten the bullet and accepted he is blind without having glasses on, Saeran had started wearing colored contacts with prescription. considering this change had happened while under Rika's care, it's pretty obvious she would be the one to buy him the contacts, so the 'mint eye' fits the whole idea. this leaves several new points for interpretation though. first, Rika is the one who taught both twins to hack, so i am choosing to believe miss girl also has terrible eyesight but wears eye contacts because she is obsessed with always looking her absolute best and avoids touching glasses for this reason. Saeyoung's glasses being a fashion statement (as goofy as they may be) aside, knowing how awful Saeran was at taking care of himself while living in the cult, i am absolutely sure the 'damn bitch you live like this?' boy may have kept forgetting to take his contacts out before sleep but would keep pushing against the irritation and eye tiredness, because it would never occur to him to just. buy a pair of glasses.
which is how we end up with this scenario.

knowing the Choi twins' particular brand of soap opera drama, the whole thing would boil down to a misunderstanding. Saeran, who had never been taught actual self-care skills because all of his caretakers were either intent on murdering him, never learned these skills themselves, or some combination of both, would just keep wearing his old colored contacts even past the expiration date, because there is no Rika to order him a new pair and because it never occurs to him that his bad eyesight can be helped with clear contacts or a pair of glasses. Saeyoung, who is still a dedicated expert at self-loathing, would interpret Saeran's continued use of the mint colored contacts as yet another way to show him how much he hates him, refusing to share an eye colour with his twin unless he is asleep. the misunderstanding would continue on and on without either mentioning anything until Saeran's eyes are going red and he can't blink without crying so Saeyoung rushes him to an ophthalmologist and then MC bonks both of them over the head for their shared refusal to mention anything.
on a less related note but since i am writing a whole essay bitching about character design, let me once again mention Ray's route redesign. what was even the reason oh my god. he was already perfectly fine as Unknown. he is still Saeyoung's identical twin, why give him the huge moe anime girl eyes? i see the dedication to woobifying him as much as possible, but he was already Mr Woobie Worldwide as kid!Saeran, like??

look at this absolute ray of sunshine (ha). i promise we won't care for him any less if his eyes aren't twice are huge as his tsundere twin brother.

look at these pictures and tell me they didn't give my poor man a whole cosmetic surgery while preparing him for the Ray route. the game was never famous for their consistent art style, but at the very least, looking at the old art, you could tell the two characters were clearly intended as identical twins, when put side by side. from the Ray route onwards, Saeran is consistently depicted as Saeyoung's uwu bug eyed cutie little bwother :3
the one thing i do like about the chronological progression of his character design is the pipeline from Ray/Evil!Saeran to Unknown. since more time has passed in the main route, there are telling signs that Rika is not as controlling of Saeran as she was two years ago. this is starkly highlighted by her abandoning him/forcing him out of the cult in one of Yoosung's bad endings, but also pretty prominent in his physical appearance. Ray still believed himself to be ugly, but he was putting consistent effort into his appearance, in both identities. his hair is perfectly bleached and brushed, he is wearing those formal attires, even the Saeran identity is running around spreading mayhem in a perfectly tailored and ironed black suit.
two years later, Saeran is going on his infiltration missions in a leather jacket cuntily leaning off his tattooed shoulder (which i am 85% sure was his own idea that Rika wasn't involved in) with studded bracelets and leather chokers. knowing what we know of Rika, it's very hard for me to imagine her approving of this kind of style lmao. his hair is also in a much worse condition, having not seen brush in ages and not even wild in the style Ray route!Saeran's was or Saeyoung's naturally is, slightly longer, visibly damaged. the bleach job is a mess, leaving him with the famous pink tips that Ray was clearly missing.
the one thing i hate however is that in V's after ending, where he supposedly rescues Saeran and miraculously takes such a good care of him that it works better than therapy... his hair is still fucking white. this version of Saeran wanted to reunite with his brother more than any others did, and had more time to himself after being rescued from Mint Eye, and for some reason he or V just kept bleaching his hair? i can hear the choir of 'it's not that deep', but personally? yes, it is that deep. all of the non-Mint Eye endings for Saeran are inherently bound to be about change, and for a sweet uwu twin who is very explicitly transformed by their tragic backstory narrative, in a visual novel game i can't believe we only have two (2) cgs of adult Saeran with his natural hair colour, one of which doesn't even come from the in-game content.
Cheritz please release my boy from the contract forbidding him to change his appearance ever since he got his own route.
In conclusion, red haired!golden eyed!Saeran deserves rights and to be seen more
#like... if they could afford to give Yoosung a haircut and/or his natural hair colour back#to give Jaehee back her long hair#to give us several cgs of Zen with his hair down or even a wig#to give Vi long hair in his route and then a haircut in the AE#TO GIVE SEVEN SEVERAL CROSSDRESSING CGS#why is my poor boy Saeran robbed of his own eye and hair colour#thanks for coming to my ted talk about an otome boy's hair this was very important to my teenage self to put into words#mystic messenger#mysme#saeran choi

I can see the inconsistency of Felix character is because he actually a character for there "Fans demand" :
Sooo you prefer 2D-Catnoir/Felix rather than our angel Adrien ? Here Felix ! He official debut in "Felix" ! He is Adrien cousin and a big jerk ! Hate him just like how I hate him too !
Wh- What ? You like him ? Fuck ! So you feel he is more competent that our pure evulz bitch teenagers ? Fine ! Here's Felix who manage to trick Gabriel in "Gabriel Agreste" ! Now He is as dangerous as Gabe
Oh Fuck ! You still like him and feel he is more "relevant" than our angel Adrien and my sweetie Marinette ? Here's I present YOU Felix join Miracuclass as "Dog Hero" and then sell all the Miraclouses to Gabe ! He is Evil ! EVil ! EVIIIIL !
What ? You asking me why he want Peacock Miraculous so much ?! Here I present you Felix as Argos ! He wiped humanity out-of-spite and try to create the Utopia for his own freedom ! He is misanthrope !
What A second ? Why... You... STILL.... EXPECTED... CHLOE... TO BE REDEEMED.... why she already... has many traits... to be put in "Complete Monster" territory ? Why YOU keep want her to be redeem like Zuzu and Pacifica just because having shitty parents ? FINE ! Here's Felix to be our Zuzu ! He is tragic little peacock... has tragic backstory.... shitty dad... and a handsome teenager.... pretty much like Zuzu right ? Now shut up and Go simp on him and Feligami already !
Proper redemption arc ? Who hell need redemption arc as long as he is "tragic and handsome" ? Don't worry... we will make Kagami as "senti" out-of-nowhere aside she wear different ring as excuse and a "horny possessive girl" who still can't move on from Adrien and make her Simp felix because he smell and looks like Adrien RIIIIIIIIIIIGHHT LOL
Honestly, it is pretty hilarious that Felix was meant to be seen as the actual character who went through a serious redemption arc compared to Chloe, when the writers pretty much speedran through every major part of it in time for the finale.
Like, say what you will about Chloe and whether or not you think she deserved to be redeemed, but at least the arc leading to her betrayal was spread across three seasons. Felix's redemption arc only lasted three episodes.
Because of the poor pacing, this is the character journey Felix goes through during the latter half of Season 5.
Emotion: "I'm going to wipe out all of humanity and create a better world! Wait, you think I'm insane for erasing your friends and family from existance while essentially committing mass genocide? WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"
Pretension: "Even though I've spent almost no time with you, I think I'm falling in love with you because you may be a Sentimonster person with strict parents like me. Of course, I don't love you enough to break my new moral code against using Sentimonsters or even answering for my betrayal of Ladybug."
Representation: "I'm finally going to do something to help Ladybug because her arch-enemy is getting in the way with my week-old relationship, and that moral code against Sentimonsters? I don't want to use Sentimonsters to fight, but using Sentimonsters to put on a play to convey information I could easily tell Ladybug myself, since my new girlfriend conviently learned her identity over ten episodes ago? Perfectly okay. And since I have a personal stake by wanting to protect both my cousin and girlfriend, surely, this means I'll get to play a big part in the season finale instead of just letting Ladybug do all the work, right?"

You know what, I would accept Chloe Face-heel turn IF she actually wrote like this character :
He is Adu Du, former Antagonist from BoBoiBoy Series. Before landed on Earth, he was a loser on his own homeplanet, get bullied and being disowned. Adu Du decide to go to earth to find a Cocoa. So he can hailed as a hero of his planet.
He start as main Antagonist in Season 1 until Season 2, an effective threat for BoBoiBoy and his friend. Then in Season 3, he start to have his redemption arc for sake to rebuild his only friend, Probe, after being destroyed and defeated by Ejo Jo. During his redemption arc, Adu Du has lot of trouble to control his anger or be better person. But this is how Redemption arc works, show the character has an actual struggle to be change because we can't be a new leaf in instant.
Unfortunately, he went back become bad due to his mother manipulation. When he back as bad guy, he still competent villain and fully embrace his proud of being bad guys. Until the end of Season 3, he decide to help BoBoiBoy to fight against Ejo Jo and help them to reach Kaizo spaceship to saved Fang.
Despite no longer being good guy, he and Probe ended being neutral character, no longer being the main threat. In Galaxy, especially Gentar Arc, he become main focused character to saved Probe from Roksasa, making him has no other choice to send a SOS signal to get help. Eventually, BoBoiBoy, Gopal and Qually working together with Adu Du to saved Probe and Ochobot. In the end of Gentar Arc, when Qually asked BoBoiBoy if Adu Du is evil or not, BoBoiBoy believe that Adu Du is not that evil.
Now, why I compare him with S4/S5 Chloe ? Because his character is complex even after he went back to be bad guy. Thanks to his mother manipulation and support, Adu Du become lot resourceful than he was in past season. And of course he manage his privilege from his mother and thinking about his evil plan perfectly. He openly proud of it. UNLIKE SEASON 4-5 CHLOE, this make his character still engaging, memorable and watchable. He is missed by the viewer since he no longer has much screentime. He is written not by writers out-of-spite.
Adu Du return as bad guy never painted as "irredeemable" despite he has done lot of worse and is MORE active antagonist than Chloe. (Adu Du takes advantages of BoBoiBoy stress of unable to manage his time as student and superhero, then seeing him being controlled by his own Elemental Form (BoBoiBoy Fire). Which make him to manipulate the citizen by make them seeing BoBoiBoy as too dangerous as hero then build a robot imitation of the hero. Then after his plan successful, he begin to put a high donation and threaten to destroy everything. ) Heck, he still has genuine humorous moment which is not forced humor at all.
Chloe, however, to make her "irredeemable", make her "abuse" her father and Sabrina, then make her 24 hours call herself as "I'm Sooo Evulz" despite being a minion for Gabriel and Miss-3-different-faces and acting as "dumb-blonde bitch" stereotype. Resulting viewer tired of seeing her instead of hating her. Because she is written out-of-spite by the fat beared bastard
#ml salt#BoBoiBoy#chloe bourgeois#ml writer salt#ml writing salt#ml writing critical#anti thomas astruc#Adu Du#If some of you ever see Adu Du you exactly can see why he is better writing than Chloe despite return back to be bad guy#Chloe back as bad guy nothing more than a mockery and out-of-spite from TA

I love how you flesh out the Decepticons, I mean they do things for the evulz sometimes but also probably have actual motivation, especially rumble and hook
also your hook design rocks. he slays all of his enemies
Rumble’s motivations/development in my continuity be like: What do you mean my desire to help my loved ones and good intentions to get us back home have turned sour because I started to believe I knew what was best for everyone else and that trying to force my solutions onto the lives of others without considering or asking what they want or even giving them a chance to try to do things their own way has kind of made me a raging asshole micro-manager of my own loved ones and I actually have to stop doing that and let the ones I love make their own decisions even if they fail and be there for them because I need to care more what they want for themselves instead of what I think they should want?
Hook’s motivations/development in my fan continuity be like: What do you mean I can’t just rely on other people entirely to save me and make me into a better person and that endlessly trying to appease others and help their problems while pretending I don’t have any is not a sustainable way to live my life and that I actually have to tell people that I’m hurting if I want them to help me and that I have to tell people no when I think they’re wrong and that being in a good relationship actually means that I should speak up and feel comfortable doing so when I think someone is wrong instead of letting them continue to be wrong because it spares their feelings in the moment and that I can only really heal if I also let myself be exposed and vulnerable and bleeding to the people I love most which is also my greatest fear because I have tied my self worth to being someone who never causes problems for my loved ones?
Also, thank you so much! Omg! I appreciate the kind words on my writing and Hooky design hell yeah!

See, here is where we're at re 'is Nisha Lawful Evil'
Out of these three, Nisha is most definitely closest to the second Type. She's definitely not "Lawful over Evil". I'd say even Jack is closer to that. Jack is the one who has lofty ideas about creating a better world, purging Pandora of bandits and creating is capitalist utopia. When Nisha talks about the Hyperion agenda in Borderlands 2, it is mostly in a slightly amused way. And while she supports it by guarding the Eridium shipments, she's not directly an enforcer for Jack the way Wilhelm is. Mostly she just wants to run Lynchwood - which she also isn't really trying all that hard to turn it into a "peaceful", hyper-controlled place, she even states as much:
"Rumours that Lynchwood might become as civilised as Opportunity are not to be believed. Let Jack have his ivory towers. I came to Pandora for action."
So she's not really trying to build any kind of society - she's trying to create a scenario where she can commit atrocities unbothered (and realised that the best profession to do that is to be a cop lmao). The only aspect that fits here is that she specifically likes to go after bandits. Or, anyone she considers a bandit. But we also know from TPS that she's perfectly fine with a) killing pretty much anyone or anything else and b) being considered a bandit herself. And I think it's important to point out that in the society we encounter in Borderlands, killing and hunting bandits for fun and sport or whatever is perfectly normalised - obviously, self-defence is another big reason - but if you have power, money or are just really good with a gun, you're actively encouraged to go out and murder as many bandits as you like and the more you kill, the bigger the hero you are. And Nisha, much like Jack, is perfectly content to label people bandits the moment they piss her off or inconvenience her if she has a chip on her shoulder.
She's also not really the Type 3. Something that does apply, at least occasionally, is the idea of 'honour' - like the fact that she challenges the Vault Hunters for a duel. But we also see her go back on her word when she feels like it, like in the Pre-Sequel when that one Lost Legion soldier asks for his life to be spared: All the other characters let him go, except Nisha. She first says 'yes', then decides to hunt him down and strangle him when he least expects it. Yes, she creates a set of laws in Lynchwood that allow her to hang anyone she feels like - but somehow I doubt that if someone not breaking any of her laws would stop her from killing them if she felt like it.
Also, she isn't evil until she clocks out, then goes home and acts like a different person. She's always Like This. Yes, she can be friendly and jovial and chill when she feels like it, but a) her cruelty and blood-thirst usually show, she's just funny about it and b) it's not like she's disconnecting from the evil she does or rationalises it. She simply doesn't care. The reason she can be cordial and polite or even close with people despite of all the murders isn't because there is a distinction between those two sides of her - but because there isn't: She's pretty open about who she is. She doesn't normalise it, she doesn't think 'oh, I'm following orders / it is my job to do this' or 'other people are doing it too' - she didn't slip into this line of 'work', she doesn't really have any values or beliefs bigger than herself (sure, she supports Hyperion but she's also announcing the fact that she considers it all a bit silly over the loudspeakers to the entire town of Lynchwood).
The closest thing to apply is "Evil over Lawful" - creating Lynchwood and creating the laws of Lynchwood is mostly a set-up to allow her to do things 'for the Evulz' - luring people to Lynchwood to torment them is basically her mouse-trap for endless fun.
But if we look at -
Chaotic Evil - some of these ironically fit her a lot more.
And ironically even here, I wouldn't put her into "Evil over Chaos". Now, this might be controversial because being 'evil' is a very, very big aspect of Nisha's character. In fact, she arguably might be more evil than Jack (she arguably might be the most evil character in the Borderlands-universe)(even if they're both extremely cruel people, Jack's motives are also ambition, revenge, arrogance, his idea of bringing 'peace', etc. Nisha's sadism is a lot more undiluted. She really, really just wants to hurt people. This, ironically, also makes her kill fewer people than Jack - because Jack is that 'million is a statistic' kind of villain, even if he genuinely enjoys killing. He has a mission. Nisha doesn't. Sitting in a space station and sending soldiers and moonshots to kill her enemies just wouldn't be enough to keep her entertained. We see that in her lines at Wilhelm:
"That's lame. I like my kills more personal." "An unmanned drone? Can't even watch them die that way!" "Boring!"
She doesn't care about Pandora or the Warrior or Hyperion - she cares about hanging around Lynchwood, killing bandits like they're ants and she's got a magnifying glass. And the fact that she's also perfectly fine with Pandora potentially being fried to a crisp if Jack manages to raise the Warrior indicates that she's also fine going somewhere else, if Lynchwood doesn't work out. But...she's also not really a card-carrying villain. She wouldn't ally with someone just because they're evil if that meant that they would ask her to do stuff she doesn't feel like doing - we see that in her interactions with Tassiter. So yeah, for her it seems to be Chaos (freedom) over Evil.
And since she likes to use her freedom to hunt bandits and for her western larping shtick - the whole Sheriff thing seems to be a pretty sweet deal for her interests. Not because she care about the law, but because she cares about fun and impunity.
And that's how you end up being so Chaotic, you're turning Lawful again.
(She also definitely has traits of 'Intelligent Monster' - she really, really likes killing people/beings just to prove she can (which is a common trait among Vault Hunters but it is also what makes Nisha become a Vault Hunter.))

Do you have a name or nickname you like to go by? Also what are your pronouns if you don’t mind me asking!
Remember to take care of yourself! ❤️
Hmmm, a nickname. I ususally go by DrEvulz as my gamertag so let's go with that. You peasants may call me Evulz
(Note: Please don't take it to heart, you aren't peasants)
On the subject of my pronouns, I don't really care if others call me a he, she or a they, but if it makes things easier I am biologically male so let's go with He/Him for me

Yeah, there are very good reasons why everyone started pasteurizing their milk once the process was discovered. The raw milk crowd acts like Big Pasteur is Ruining Milk for no reason but Teh Evulz, but ten minutes of looking into things clearly shows the raw milk crowd is a bunch of ignorant nincompoops who mostly have, as you mention, never seen a cow, and probably couldn't describe what pasteurization is if asked.

SPY IN THE HOUSE OF ETH

So this week I was hit with a pang of sentimentality for an older work:
"Spy In The House Of Eth".
"Spy" was published by Soulmuppet Publishing for their Best Left Buried horror-fantasy TTRPG, back in 2020; it was part of a slate of adventures, commissioned and funded as part of Zinequest 2.
A mangrove- and plantation-themed hexcrawl. A landscape changed (and changing) because of colonial-capitalist agro-industry. Displaced locals fomenting rebellion. A tycoon recycling the souls of his labour-force. Said tycoon engineering a hostile takeover of hell, so hell is made worse, and merges with the waking world.
+
When I flip through it now I mainly see its faults. The text feels underwritten. It is cramped, and rushed. It is sorely in need of a better intro, to orientate players:
A summary of factions; and outline of events and possible outcomes; overarching design elements like the everspreading-hell-haze mechanic needs to go at the front of the book, not the back; etc.
Ultimately---even though for quite a while "Spy" was the longest TTRPG text I'd ever written---I tried to do too much in too small a space. This is a full adventure campaign. I should've have shoved it into 60 pages. I should've saved it for a 200-page book, let it breathe. That's an editorial decision, entirely my fault.
+
Nova was kind enough to take a look at it, recently. Her review was very good, very insightful.
I think she correctly diagnoses the fact that I buried the lede in terms of What This Book Is About:
"this is set in a colonised land, features hellish pollutions destroying the environment caused by the invaders, features slaves in an uprising against their owners, and that the players are asked to pick sides ... [but] that isn’t well stated outside the text itself ... probably needs to be summarised for the sake of selling to the table and for ease of play."
I have no defense for this, except a vague notion that it feels a little gauche to bang on the: "THIS IS AN ADVENTURE ABOUT THE EVULZ OF COLONIALISM AND CAPITALISM ERRYBODY!" drum.
The work should speak for itself!
But, then again, people can't hear the work properly if not enough context was built around it.
Again: this is on me.
+
Still:
I think the reason why I put so much into "Spy"; why I resisted explaining it so much; why it is still one of the favourite things I've made, despite its faults---
Is that it was kind of my first TTRPG thing. It predates Lorn Song, even though that came out first.

The mansion in "Spy" was the first TTRPG dungeon I ever drafted. A sheets-on-the-furniture, closed-up ancestral pile; with the current owners absconded to some big city with most of the money; adventurers picking over faded wealth.
It was inspired by the huge mansions of Malacca and Penang, and context mirrors the kind of thing those tycoon family did---suck a land dry, then leave for London or New York or wherever.
More generally, a lot in "Spy" is basically a fantastic version of my day-to-day reality.
The beacon is the refinery gas flare I see from my house:

The bougainvillea monsters is because I have this monstrous bougainvillea in my yard:

The monkeys and the kingfishers. The oil-palm monoculture, the oil-palm refinery we drive past every time we head north to Kuala Lumpur. The fact we travel southeast from the city to where we live, mirrored in the orientation and order of the hexcrawl.
The mangroves:

+
All this to say: I feel warmly about "Spy In The House Of Eth", and I feel like talking about it. If you've read it or you've played it: I would love to hear from you.
(It's available via the Soulmuppet store and Itch and Drivethru, among other places. Thank you, Zach, for publishing this.
It was published as a batch with four other adventures, all good---though my personal favourite of them is Luke Gearing's "Behind Closed Doors". I believe he is rewriting it???)

Hi there, everybody, allow me to introduce myself, my name is tamishiko Tamirumare, but you can call me tami, and I am here to answer questions you need or want to ask about me.
But how did this happen, well it’s a long story, you see I found this strange laptop in a ruined area on welcome island, so I repaired it, and now, I am connected to this website, not sure, how it got here.
But, yet, despite the fact that I am 18, I am still way too young for anything, well you know, so no nsfw, and I won’t give any spoilers for yokei godneu, you’ll have to figure them out on your own.
But with that out of the way, it’s time for us to begin, ask away, you want, and, i will make sure to get anyone I can, that you want to ask questions.
Also if this blog gets enough asks, I can show you something very special that tristarnova has been waiting to show off that will appear in yokei godneu; to be a hero, but you’ll have to get to the ask number 1st, before I will reveal it.
See character profiles for how you can ask

Will we ever get to see LB and Felix hash it out in odnlb? Like not a physical fight but kinda just talk (or yell lol) things out. As wrong as Felix’s actions were, I’d like it if LB could be enlightened as to just how untrustworthy she may have seemed at the time, considering she was nonchalantly wiping a senti out of existence every week or so. I’d like it if she understood Felix’s betrayal in Risk was more nuanced than just being for the evulz. Feel free to not answer if this ask is too spoilery tho!
it's not too spoilery! yes, lb and felix will get a scene or two >:D

Anonymous asked:
I know you hate her too, but what are your thoughts on the fan theory that Thomas based Chloe off someone he knew just to spite them?
I mean, I’m still convinced that he based Luka off someone he lost a girlfriend too in high school, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Anonymous asked:
I thought "Ship LS is a proven way to make you "good guys" " was just a joke....but now I can see That Guy takes this joke in a serious route by doing "If you are good guys, you need to ship LS even if you are anonymous adult...if you don't you just as evulz as Lila and Chloe " like how many episode in season 4 contain ship-bait LS for fanservice which is nothing but a filler and pandering the fans to shout about them as "SOULMATES UWU~" on twitter 🙄
To insult the love square is to insult the universe itself, and it will pay you back in spades for it... I guess.
smartlanceisreal asked:
Sometimes I wonder why That Guy created this show when he clearly hates the protagonist. My first thought is sadism which makes sense. Then it went to creepier direction because of those butt shots of minors, skin tight costumes for the heroines, and that infamous comic. Now I both really don't want to know or I do just to know why.
Yeaaah, we don’t want to think about the questionable shots.
I’m reminded of those anime where there’s that one female character who isn’t taken seriously by anyone, usually bullied/mocked a lot, and trips and falls all over the place as an excuse by whatever male storyboarder to show off her underwear.
This is just the G-rated version.

I am still really enjoying Ogata’s scenes recently but I wanted to ask: do you also think that Noda should just reveal Ogata’s true motive in this hunt already? It annoys me a bit since we still don’t know what he meant with Vasily (who is supposedly dead) and also because I feel like we’re leaning too much towards the « he just likes chaos » explanations.
Well...
...this is kind of a tricky question.
Of course I've been longing to know why Ogata is in this mess by... a lifetime really, but in a story revelations aren’t done after a fixed time period but when it’s more convenient for the plot and, since I don’t know what will happen, I can’t tell if this is the most convenient moment for such revelation.
However, considering the manga is about to end and Tsurumi and Ogata are likely going to have a face off, this feels like a moment in which a revelation could be convenient for the plot.
Of course, part of the problem might be that the story underwent changes along the way. Vasily’s addition for exemple ultimately led to no story development, with Vasily’s character going largely underdeveloped to the point I feel either Noda scrapped his plot development or his addition was a last minute idea without a strong plan behind it and, if Vasily is really dead and the wound he inflicted to Ogata will reveal itself of no importance whatsoever, ultimately we could have done without him.
And no, I don’t have something against Vasily. As I said many times he had a lot of petential but was underused and underdeveloped as a character which was a pity.
Back to Ogata, since changes along the way were done, it's extremely hard to predict what will be of him and how his own arc will develop because I don’t know anymore what Noda will keep of his past development and what he will discharge. We’ll see.
Said so, I never bought Sugimoto’s theory that Ogata was in this mess for the fun of it.
Sugimoto’s copying mechanism is to view his antagonists as bad people who don’t have a human heart and therefore don’t feel pain nearly as much as a regular person so one doesn’t have to feel sorry when they die.
Sugimoto wants to kill Ogata, he can’t bother thinking he might have a valid reason for doing what he does, Ogata has to be just ‘a bad person’ and bad people do thing for the evulz, nothing more.
In fact, when Asirpa forced Sugimoto to talk about it again, Sugimoto had to revise his theory so as to make it ‘no, actually he wanted the gold but since he couldn’t get it now he’s taking revenge by stopping us from getting it’.
Noda went out of his way to show us that Ogata was involved with Central...
...which was something Tsurumi suspected from the start.
If anything his motive should be more complicate than Ueji (who was in that mess to disappoint everyone) and it’s hinted it might be the exact the opposite, he might be trying to please someone.
Note how no one in the 7th division think Ogata is there for the evulz. They know him by longer than Sugimoto but neither of them think that’s the way Ogata amuses himself.
On another side WHY OGATA IS IN THIS MESS has been something all the characters has wondered at one point or another, giving their own theories, and this is possibly the last secret Noda will reveal, making this a mistery bigger than where was the gold hidden since it’s apparently THE ULTIMATE MISTERY.
We’ll see how things will go though. When something like this is kept hidden for too long in a story, there’s a huge risk the revelation will end up being unsatisfying so, even if I really want to know, I’m trying to not get my hopes up.
We’ll see. Thank you for your ask!

The final confrontation of the archetype au, everyone's cornered XD and is about to banish him or whatever, and someone asks XD why he did all this, what he thought he'd gain, and he just. He just goes "For George. And also because it was really funny. LOL XD"
DreamXD is the fanfic writer in us and also the trope “For the Evulz” at the same time. I don’t know why but that comes to mind for this au.

So it looks like Quackerjack is your fave but I'd like to ask what you think about Negaduck! Actually, TBH I just wanted to share this headcanon with someone: his mask isn't a mask at all, it's just the pattern of his feathers. (But please still share your thoughts about Negaduck if you have any.) Love your blog!
An interesting headcanon! I always like seeing people get creative with working different types of duck patterns into these characters. 🤩
On to the second piece of the question~
Well, to be honest, I have to admit that Negaduck was probably one of my favorites as a kid because I just have this interest in characters who are either clones, evil twins or alternate universe versions of the main characters. A cheesy cliché these days, I know, but there's something so intriguing and oddly charming to me about Evil Twin characters who either have the most unnecessary additions to thier designs to differentiate them from the main character, or just a color change or subtle marking detail to make them stand out

((I really think this trend peaked in the 90s to mid 2000s, and I really do miss it being done without some stuck up critic taking the mick out of it; it used to be fun to see and I like chase varient toys that came of this style))
Negaduck as a character is pretty cool. He's got an edgy-ish design (with bright harsh colors, sharp teeth and the tendency to whip out any type of weapon he needs, be it a knife or a freaking bazooka). Also, being voiced by legendary Jim Cummings is a bonus, particularly his "mean and evil" voice style. It's iconic, it's equal parts amusing as it is unnerving.
All around, I quite like Negaduck
Enough to want to collect some toys and related merch, obviously:

((Would you believe that I STILL haven't been able to get a Darkwing Funko Pop yet? In fact, he and Launchpad are the only two I need to get to finish the set, sans Glow-in-the-Dark Megavolt))
I like how the original series really didn't hold back on delivering slapstick on him. There always seemed to be a balance of comeuppance between him being devious little snot, and getting plowed into the ground once a plan backfires (which I don't think he really was able to get away with anything, so, status quo).
But, something that really bothers me is how he was able to basically psychologically torture his underlings without much repercussion, and that he had Negaverse counterparts of his team scared witless of him without much explanation as to why that is, other than I can assume that he's probably very good at gaslighting, because there's really no other reason why this group of three mutants and a lunatic couldn't have overpowered him

Negaduck, like QuackerJack, has no powers at all. But Bushroot, Liquidator and Megavolt are fully capable of killing a guy, and even QuackerJack has proven capable of ripping apart metal with his bare hands (as well has continually displayed bouts of seemingly adrenaline fueled strength, being able to fling a Herb Muddlefoot clear across the room, when a Herb easily outweighs a QuackerJack), so it's very odd that any time the quartet attempts to overthrow Negaduck, they IMMEDIATELY cower back in it 99% of the time the moment Negaduck shoots them a glare.
I'm not so much a fan of Negaduck's portrayal in the comic continuation, mostly because of this one plot point here that really acts as the catalyst for a majority of the arcs to even fall in place, and I really don't like that it has to happen:

Negaduck destroying Mr. Banana Brain, then throwing the pieces back at QuackerJack while insulting the jester duck's aptitude and personality. I feel like this was a little uncharacteristic for Negaduck to single out QuackerJack in particular, and he's never once even paid attention to MBB.
In fact, prior to Negaduck's decimation of the original MBB, QuackerJack seemed to be actively seeking recognition/approval from Negaduck while Negaduck either remained aloof to the attempts, or outright displaying annoyance at QuackerJack's loud personality.

((A lot of these shots are from the same episode, but I really like these key frames of QuackerJack trying to be a good little underling, he looks almost childlike in his enthusiasm.))
In short, I really prefer the original series version of Negaduck over the continuation Negaduck, on account of the original was more like a cocky bully that got retribution dished back to him by the end of the episodes anyway, where as the comic Negaduck was unnecessarily cruel for the sake of the evulz, IMO
Now, Jim Starling, on the other hand...
I am 100% invested in this idea and he has yet to do anything particularly vile that can't be redeemed from.
Except maybe possibly giving the in-universe actor for QuackerJack a clear back injury while filming a stunt

I say "possibly" because it's not confirmed nor recognized as canon and its purely speculation on my part, but that does look like it was a nasty ouch. 👀
Also, thank you for the nice words about my blog~ 💜
