I like the idea of evil Sabo. But not like evil evil, but like 'by all means' type of person.
Like while Ace and Luffy seems to always have the wellness of other people in mind, where it shows when Luffy wants to free a whole island, Sabo would sacrifice an island to get closer to his and Dragon's ambitions.
Imagine Sabo being on a mission where his goal is to make the habitants rebel against the island's government so the revolutionaries can join at the last minute and save the day. That way when they broadcast this worldwide more people would want to join their cause. But then Luffy comes to the same island and being who he is wants to help the people. But then when the crew snoops around they find out that it's the revolutionaries who initiated the conflict and Luffy is confused. Because why would they do that when they knew how many lives it would take? And then he sees Sabo and confronts him but he believes anything his older brother says. How he didn't know about it and it wasn't supposed to go like this. The Straw Hats aren't idiots though and know he's lying. Especially Robin who was around revolutionaries for a while and saw Sabo in action more than once. But they stay silent. And if they're suddenly warry of their captain's brother it's not like Luffy would notice anyway.
Everything ends up pretty much like the Dragon's army wanted anyway. Even if it was the Staw Hats who ultimately resolved the conflict and defeated the island's rulers, on the paper it was all thanks to the Revolutionary Army. Between the two, it was better for the public to think it was Dragon than the pirate Emperor.
...
Anyway, it's one of the examples, he just has the aura of someone that to his younger brother is all cute and good at heart but to everyone else is like a two faced devil who won't think twice when it comes to archive his goals.

Ds as Vampires Au!
I can't get the idea of Vampire Luffy out of my head. Shanks and his crew anchor at Foosha and suddenly there is this cute little kid running towards the pier, excitement visible in his voice and eyes.He is sipping his red juice and Shanks is like "whatcha got there little buddy" and Luffy grins, showing off his bloody fangs and awnsers blood.
The rest of the crew goes pale and Shanks simply laughs,bc he's had a Vampire as captain afterall. (he still almost chocks on his drink when he hears who the kid's grandpa is though)
During his time in Foosha he helps little Vamp Luffy with his bat transformation. The crew starts coowing at how cute he is everytime he does it though so he stops doing it in front of them.(They are upset but it's their own fault).
Things proceed as in canon, shanks leaves with an arm and hat less, garp takes Luffy to dadan and luffy meets Ace(another vampire!he is so excited).
Except in this AU Sabo lets the two of them feed on him. So when Dragon saves him,he immediately connects the bite marks to his son.
Ds are "True Vampires" and therefore can turn others into vampires. Sabo was in critical condition when Dragon found him so he turned him.
"Turned Vampires" aren't like Ds. They can't turn others, they can't transform into bats and their powers are noticeable weaker. They also struggle to deal with their newly turned body. They are connected to their sire who is supposed to help them through the first few years post changing due to that.
So Luffy and Ace find out that Sabo survived but they also find out that he can't stay.Reasoning with the distressed children is hard but once they finally grasp that 1) they can't stop Sabo if he accidentally goes into a frenzy and attacks a human like the bandits for example 2) sabo's scumbag father might come after sabo again and even kill him due to the change, they accept that he has to leave.
Sabo's memories are still foggy, like he can't quite remember them but he KNOWS that they are his brothers so he promises to come see them once their first bounty drops.
Years pass and eventually Luffy sets out. Zoro is pretty cool with his captain drinking blood and being a vampire and all. Nami and Usopp freak out but hey you gotta roll with the punches if you want to be a straw hat. Sanji is a bit freaked out at first but eventually starts making vampire friendly food for Luffy, such as blood sausages.
Then the crew meets Vivi. She is really shocked to meet a Vampire other than herself. Unlike Luffy who is very casual about his vampirism, Vivi hides herself. She thinks it's shameful, that the royal family needs it's subject's blood to stay alive. She learns to be more comfortable about herself thanks to Luffy though. Meeting Ace also helps.
The Au progresses moslty like in canon with a few exceptions here and there until Marineford.Thatch actually survives getting backstabbed bc Ace bites and turns him. Also Sabo is there and Ace consequently survives.
Ace and Luffy are so fucking exhausted though, that they are stuck in bat form for an entire week. The Whitebeards tease the shit out of them for being so cute and tiny. Sabo is sleeping the whole time (koala yells at him for almost giving her an heartattack).
I might add more lately if I get more ideas later

Does Ace gets the strawhat after Luffy dies in the Reverse Strawhats au?
You! How dare you make me have a mental breakdown over my own Au!
(But no this is genus, like how did I not think of this)
Um honestly it goes in one of three ways.
1. Shanks takes the hat after Marineford. He’s the one who collects Luffy’s body. It’s the reminder of his captain and his son. How could he not keep it. But how could he ever wear it again?
2. Shanks picks it up and goes to hand it off to Ace. It’s an emotional moment. Maybe Shanks explains the significance of the Hat. Not only his promise to Luffy but also to his Captain. And this leaves Ace with an awful decision. Does he don the hat to honor his brother, carrying on his dream to be the next King of the Pirates. Keeping his brother’s most prized possession for himself. Yet how can he wear it when it once belonged to his father? Yet how could he ever let it go, when Luffy loved it so much? (He ends up wearing it but not until after the two year break. Maybe not until after reuniting with Sabo)
3. Sabo gets it. Shanks gives it to Ace, explains the whole history of the hat. And Ace can’t let it go. Can’t let Shanks take it with him. But can’t wear it either. Not when it’s his father’s hat. Not after failing to save Luffy. (And honestly that one hurts more) but then he reunites with Sabo in Dressrosa and it’s emotional. And they both hate themselves for not saving Luffy. And Ace needed this, but so does Sabo. Who is so convinced A e would hat him. How could Ace hate him? And Sabo has nothing of Luffy. Barely any memories. Barely any pictures together. Ace has so little of his brother left, but he has infinitely more than Sabo has. And maybe he decides to leave Luffy’s most prized possession with his other little brother.
All three have so much potential. What to you all think?
Secret 4th option Ace hold onto it. He can part with the hat but he can’t wear it. (Maybe Sabo turns it down) but after reuniting with cannon Luffy (in Wano?) they have a long talk about the lose of each other (isn’t that weird) and he takes the hat out to show Luffy and holds it while he talks about how much he loves his brother, and Luffy takes it from his hands and places it on his head. He’s shocked but Luffy’s just smiling, and it feels like he’s been given permission. Permission he didn’t even know he was waiting for. He starts wearing it after that.
Secret 5th option. The hat falls down Luffy’s back while there escaping and is punched through/burned up during the 🍩 event. It’s the end of the era. The Strawhats will never sail, never exist. Not in this world.

Modern AU
When the boys were still young, Dragon once caught them sneaking off towards the property line and the miles of forest just passed it. Sabo was at the head of the team of three.
So, in true parental fashion, he ran out to get them out of harm’s way. There was a lecture on safety, on local wildlife that could be dangerous for a trio of kids, there was emotional communication, the whole nine yards.
Until Luffy said Sabo had wanted to say hello to his friends from the woods.
Friends. From the woods.
Oh Hell no.
Every story his mother told him of evil spirits and hungry animals taking children away rushed back to him like a tidal wave, but… he knew that look in their eyes. He knows that if he just put down a hard line, they would cross it. Immediately. Contrarian little hellions…
He needed to go with them to keep them safe.
So he went with them to keep them safe.
It was about a mile into the wilderness, the trees opening up into a clearing, that Sabo cupped his little hands over his mouth and let loose a barking, yipping cry into the air. A beat of silence. And then the forest around them exploded into an eerie chorus of sound.
Turns out that Sabo’s friends from the woods? A shit-ton of coyotes.
What the fuck was Dragon supposed to do with this information?

A lot of the problems in Ace’s young life—most of them, if he was being honest—could be attributed to the shitty choices that adults around him made.
When Bluejam grabbed Luffy by the scruff, the business end of a pistol jammed painfully into the nape of his neck, he was talking a bunch of shit about how Sabo’s dad ripped him off. He was paid to kill Ace and Luffy but he’d been short-changed, and for a man who seemed to think he was entitled to a certain lot in life, it rankled.
“But that noble brat doesn’t make a bad ransom,” the man said, shaking a weepy Luffy in one meaty hand to shut him up, like Ace’s baby brother was nothing but a piece of dirty laundry. “If his family won’t buy him back, I’m sure someone will.”
Ace’s blood turned to ice in his veins. Whatever time Ace didn’t spend in the jungle he spent in the gutters and outskirts of the city, where every unwanted, street-sharpened child knew the risk a certain kind of stranger brought with them.
If Sabo ended up with a slaver, Ace would never get his brother back. Pieces of him, maybe. But not the same golden boy he was right now. Not the brave, proud, secretly soft-hearted person Ace loved so much. He’d come back different if he came back at all.
He had to compartmentalize. He couldn’t act rashly until he had Luffy back. His mind raced frantically, but he made sure it didn’t show on his face. He snatched Luffy up when Bluejam finally let him go and made his own body a wall between his brother and the men who had no compunctions about hurting him to prove a point.
They were left to spread gasoline throughout the terminal, while the pirates made their way back down to the beach. Not one of them lingered to make sure Ace and Luffy did as they were told, and Ace should have wondered about that. Should have wondered why they were making themselves scarce, why the city gates were barred, what all those fuel canisters are for, but his thoughts were too full of other things.
That was why, the second the coast was clear, he tossed his gasoline drum aside and seized Luffy by the arms. He stooped to look right into his eyes, trying to ignore the way his chest panged at how wide and red they were.
“I have to go get Sabo,” he said firmly. “You have to stay here.”
“Let me come!” Luffy cried immediately, predictably. “Don’t leave me behind!”
“It’ll be faster if you wait,” Ace snapped, because he didn’t want to say that Luffy was going nowhere near any ship bound for the slave market, because then he would have to explain why. Even without the Fruit that made him a special novelty in the Blues, Luffy would be snatched up by evil hands in a heartbeat. “You’re too little, you’ll just slow me down,” he said instead.
It wasn’t nice, and when Ace had time later, he would feel bad about the way Luffy’s lip trembled. But for now, it was important that he got his point across. Every second he lingered was another inch ahead Bluejam’s crew got. Ace’s world would literally end if their ship left port without him.
So he gave Luffy’s shoulders a push that propelled him back a step. Then he pointed in the direction of the treeline. He made his face mean and forbidding.
“I mean it, Luffy,” he said. “Go wait for me at home.”
Luffy finally tucked his chin in a miserable little nod. Ace gentled despite himself and reached out because there were two people he would always reach out for and one of them was right in front of him.
He flicked the brim of Luffy’s hat up enough that it fell off his head, and then ruffled his hair. A gesture so familiar and well-practiced it was like muscle memory to him now. Luffy didn’t smile, but it kept the tears at bay for a bit longer, and Ace left him with another firm point back at the jungle.
Ace was a child, doing his best to keep his tiny family together. He had a half-formed plan that he would sneak about Bluejam’s ship and find Sabo wherever he was and they would fight their way out and escape together and reunite with Luffy in time for a midnight dinner. He was a pragmatic youth, and was made wiser by the world than any ten-year-old should have been, but he was still only ten years old. He couldn’t have guessed what was going to happen.
He would piece it together later—that Bluejam had been commissioned by the kingdom to make sure the Gray Terminal burned down, a noble title he planned to come back to collect once he had auctioned off Outlook’s eldest son to the highest bidder—that Ace had chased after one brother and left the other alone in a place that was about to go up in flames.
When he climbed aboard the Blood Batako, he didn’t realize it would be the last time he saw Dawn Island for almost half a year.
He didn’t realize that Luffy would wait for him right there where Ace left him, even as the fire spread into walls of flames much taller than a scrawny seven year old—frightened and crying, little hands bunched in the front of his own shirt as he choked for each breath in the thick, acrid smoke. That Dadan would find him there and haul him away kicking weakly but not screaming, because there wasn’t enough oxygen left in his body to scream. That the asphyxiation, not the fire, is what nearly killed Luffy that night. That he would spend the next week in Foosha Village tended to by their only doctor and wake up with some of his memory intact, but not all. That he would recognize Makino, but wouldn’t know Dadan.
Ace had no way of knowing, when he and Sabo finally made their way home, well-traveled at the tender young age of freshly eleven, and relieved to see journey’s end for the time being, and looking forward to reuniting with a certain crybaby who had probably been miserable cooped up in Dadan’s country or at Party’s Bar without them, that Luffy will have been gone for months by then.
“A cruise ship docked further up the island,” Makino says fretfully, “and a little boy who worked in the kitchens came down here to play because he said he didn’t like the way the kingdom smelled. He and Luffy were fast friends. I had no idea Luffy was planning to leave with him until I found the note he left in his room, and by then they were long gone.”
It’s a good thing Sabo is there, because Ace’s head is just a roar of white noise. Sabo is the one who chokes out, “But—what—did—did you call Gramps? What did he say? Is he going to find him?”
“I don’t have his direct line. I’ve left a dozen messages with his office, but you know how he is,” Makino says, forgetting that they don’t, actually. “He hardly remembers that he has an office. And the number Dadan has for him is no good.”
“Why would Luffy wander off like that?” Sabo says, progressively getting louder. “Why wasn’t someone watching him?”
“He’s just been so restless since the fire,” Makino replies. “There wasn’t anything keeping him here anymore, and it seemed like he just needed one good excuse to leave.”
Sabo looks as gutted by that as Ace probably feels, hurt and confusion racing their way across his face. And Ace finally makes his contribution, in the form of a choked, “What do you mean?” which is when Makino realizes there’s something they still don’t know.
She sits them both down at a table and holds one of each of their hands in hers, and gently explains that while they were gone, the world as they knew it had changed forever, and the happy little boy who always ran to catch up to them wasn’t running after them anymore.
———
Ace still forms the Spades, and Sabo still falls in with the Revolutionary Army, and the only reason they don’t sail together the way they promised when they were young is because the ocean is awfully big. They have a lot of square footage to cover, and splitting up is the only way they could even hope to cover it all.
It doesn’t occur to either of them to give up at any point. As Sabo climbs ranks, as Ace gathers a crew, both their bounties increasing every day, they continue to search faithfully. Either they’ll find him one day, or they’ll simply spend the rest of their lives looking.
Masked Deuce says, “What about the cruise ship he left on? Did you track it down?”
“Boarded by pirates that same year,” Ace replies. “According to the official report, it sank in a storm.”
The loaded silence says everything Masked Deuce will not say. Ace doesn’t care what someone who has never met Luffy thinks about his odds of survival at sea. If Deuce knew Luffy, he would understand. Since he doesn’t, Ace’s first mate can believe his captain is delusional all he likes as long as it doesn’t keep him from doing his job.
Deuce turns out to be a better friend than Ace deserves. One day when Ace leaves his crew to party with some locals and sets off into town to distribute flyers and put his ear to the ground, he hears someone rumble something under their breath about a hopeless cause. He doesn’t even have time to turn around before Deuce has seemingly teleported across the bar and knocked the dissenter out cold.
“Anyone who shares his opinion is free to get their shit and leave,” he says calmly.
The only voices that rise up are ones who sound very offended that Deuce would lump them in with that guy, and Ace refuses to look as touched as he feels.
When he hears word of Red-Hair Shanks in nearby waters, he tracks the man down to a wintery island and leads his crew up a small mountain to meet him. In part, he wants to thank this man who saved his little brother all those years ago. But also…
“I heard about the fire,” Shanks said grimly. “And Makino kept me updated about little Anchor until he disappeared. I’ve got eyes out looking, too, Ace. The world is big, but not so big that we’ll never find him.”
It’s a relief to know that Luffy is so loved, that more than just his brothers care if he’s ever found. But in true Luffy fashion, he explodes onto the scene when he’s good and ready.
Ace is woken up by Deuce kicking the door of the captain’s quarters off its hinges and shoving a crinkled Wanted poster into Ace’s bleary face so that a toothy, stretching smile is the first thing he sees.
He accidentally sets half the room on fire, a slip-up the likes of which hasn’t happened since the first week after he ate his Fruit, and there’s a lot of screaming, and someone shoves a baby Den-Den at him so he can call Sabo. From the way his nakama were carrying on, you would think it was their long-lost brother in the paper.
“I was about to call,” Sabo says breathlessly in lieu of a hello after only barely half a ring. “You saw it?”
“I saw,” Ace replies. The newspaper is rattling noisily in his hands but he can’t get them to stop shaking. “He took down Arlong Park. There are all these witness statements from the villagers. They’re saying he did it all for his friend.”
“If anyone even thinks about coming for his bounty, I’m killing everyone on the Grand Line and then myself,” Sabo says. It takes knowing him as well as Ace knows him to be able to tell over the phone that he’s crying buckets.
“Get in line,” Ace says. If anyone so much as looks at Luffy wrong he’s burning this goddamn planet down. He can’t tear his eyes away from the poster for more than a few seconds at a time. At the urchin grin, the pencil-mark curve of a scar, this bright young man he’s never met who is so, so familiar.
“They’re calling him Straw Hat Luffy,” Deuce says. He’s a pillar of serenity in a sea of absolute chaos, leaning on Ace’s shoulder to read with him. There’s a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Now I’ll finally get to meet him.”
Which turns out to be easier said than done, because Luffy and his merry band of lunatics won’t seem to stay in one fucking spot for longer than an hour. It takes weeks to finally track that cute little caravel down to a summer island about halfway through the Grand Line, and by that time Sabo has taken a leave of absence from the Army to join him. They’re close now. They’re so close.
Wait for me, Ace would beg him if he could, wondering if this was how Luffy felt all those times his big brothers ran ahead and left him behind.
———
Ace never knew how heavy a heart could be when he was a child, a half-feral, angry, touch-starved thing. But now his heart is full—now it bursts at the seams, spills through his ribcage, until there’s no part of him that isn’t touched by it—and it’s the heaviest thing he’s ever carried.
A precious burden. He’s twice the man he would have been without it. He will never, not one time in his life ever, entertain the idea of putting it down.
But gods, Ace thinks, it would be easier, so much easier, to rip the stupid thing out of his chest and walk around a hollow shell of someone once-loved than it would be to stand here for one more minute and look down at his baby brother looking up at him like he’s a total stranger.
“Who’s this guy?” a blond man behind Luffy mutters. With the touseled hair hanging in an artful curtain over half his face and the cigarette between his teeth and the well-cut linen suit that makes it very clear he never skips leg day, blondie gives off an air of Do Not Fuck With Me just by breathing in a way that reminds Ace of Sabo at that age.
The swordsman beside him, called Roronoa Zoro on his bounty poster, is scowling outright, gray eyes sharp, ready at any moment to leap over Luffy like a faithful hound and dig into Ace with his teeth the second he presents as danger.
It makes Ace feel kind of nostalgic, like he’s looking at an old photo of himself.
He tries to focus on the nostalgic feeling, because all the rest of his brain is drowning in guilt and grief.
Somehow, he wasn’t prepared for this moment. Years of searching, nearly half his life, and he’s finally standing in front of the person whose absence tore a hole clean out of his whole future, and he has no idea what to say.
You look well, springs to mind, because Luffy does. His hair and skin and eyes are all different shades of brown that gleam with good health under the desert sun. He’s still skinny, but not in the waifish, underfed way of all the Gray Terminal kids. He looks like he’s been eating well. It settles something in Ace’s heart in the one tiny corner of it that isn’t breaking.
I should have been there, is the next-most immediate thought, and it almost takes Ace’s knees out from under him. He should have been there to make sure Luffy ate well. He should have been there to save him from the fire, to help him recover from the smoke sickness, to hold him when he cried in his sleep and to take his hand when he wandered aimlessly around the village with no one to play with and nothing to look forward to.
I’m sorry I left you, is what it boils down to, what Ace has held close and carved into his heart over the years, hating himself, hating the child he was who thought he knew better, who thought he could conquer everything without losing anything. I never should have left you.
But Luffy doesn’t know him from any other person in this busy marketplace, his head tilting to one side like a curious little bird’s, and Ace can’t think of anything to say to him that he’ll understand.
He needs Sabo. He’s about to become a walking fire hazard, and he’s about to mess this whole thing up, this reunion that was almost a decade in the making. Luffy’s two friends are eyeing him with mounting suspicion the longer he stands there and stares at their captain, every line of their body still the way a predator’s body stills in preparation for a pounce. Luffy, for his part, is still engaged, but only barely. His interest is slipping away—there are too many sights and smells and things bustling all around for him to want to stand still for a gawking stranger that doesn’t even have anything exciting to say.
His little brother. Crybaby Luffy. The boy who crawled under Ace’s blanket when their treehouse quaked in a storm, who held Sabo’s hand when they stayed out too late and walked home through the jungle in the dark. He’s a pirate now, a Wanted person, with a crew and a ship all his own, and he got this far without them. The last time Ace saw him was that last night in the Gray Terminal, when Ace was being mean on purpose to make sure Luffy stayed away from certain danger.
It occurs to Ace, for the very first time, that Luffy doesn't need him anymore. That tiny seven year old grew up.
“I saw you in the paper,” he finally says, making a concentrated effort to sound like a human being. “You’re pretty cool.”
Luffy brightens immediately. “Yeah? Are you a pirate, too?”
“I am. Made a promise to my brothers when I was a kid that we’d sail the seas together one day.”
“Wow!” Luffy says, suitably impressed. “We made a promise like that, too.” He loops both his arms through one of Blondie’s and one of Roronoa’s. “We decided way back when we were little that we were gonna stick together and become the pirate king, and the greatest swordsman, and the man who discovers All Blue!”
So one of his two guard dogs must be the little kitchen boy from The Orbit who spirited Luffy away from Foosha. The other must have come along not much later if they were all children together. Ace wants to hear the story so badly he has to clench his jaw to keep from asking. He wants to hear about everything.
Instead, ignoring the way Roronoa’s hand closes around the hilt of one of his swords, Ace reaches out and flicks the brim of Luffy’s hat so that it slips backwards off his head. Luffy squawks, and tries to free his arms in time to catch it, and then freezes in place at the touch to his hair.
Ace ruffles it fondly, muscle memory that hasn’t corroded even after a decade, and says what he should have said the first time that sunshine child in a worn straw hat shared a wild, impossible wish;
“I hope I’m there to see it when all those dreams of yours come true.”
If he had stayed a second longer, he would have seen the way Luffy mirrored Ace’s touch with his own fingers, frozen in place.
Instead, Ace has officially reached his emotional threshold, and formally retreats to find his twin. They take turns being the stable one and Ace is calling dibs on being a basket case for the next month. Masked Deuce is just going to have to deal.
Sabo got back to their meeting spot first, an outdoor table outside a tavern that hasn’t yet opened for the day, and already has their map rolled out and pinned down at the corners by various junk from their luggage. He’s marking something down and calls over a distracted hello, and Ace bleakly replies, “I found him.”
His tone is all wrong for the remarkably momentous occasion he’s announcing, so it’s not really Sabo’s fault that it doesn’t click right away. Sabo says, “Found who?” and Ace just looks at him with all his helplessness and weariness plain on his face, and Sabo drags an ink mark all across Sandy Island on the map as he whirls around and says, “You found him?”
“It’s not going to be how we thought,” Ace says, trying to manage his brother’s expectations. They share everything, but Ace would keep this heartbreak to himself if he knew how. “It’s—I think we took too long.”
“What do you mean?” Sabo asks, hands clenching into fists and unclenching. The fountain pen is dripping ink, ruining the fine leather of his left glove.
“He didn’t know me. I knew he wouldn’t, not really, but he—he didn’t recognize me at all,” Ace tries to explain. He feels stupid and childish and ungrateful, but really he just has no idea what to do. Luffy doesn’t know him and doesn’t need him and how is he supposed to fill a place in that kid’s life that doesn’t exist anymore? “We’ll have to—to start over from scratch, but how? How are we supposed to make someone like Luffy care about people like us? He’s sunshine personified, and deserves to have everything he wants and the best this shitty world has to offer, and we’re just—two selfish idiots who couldn’t even take care of one little kid between the two of us.” The awful truth, delivered quietly: “Luffy doesn’t need us anymore. I can’t see why he’d want us around now.”
Sabo is watching him like something carved from marble. Ace would never tell him, because it would hurt his feelings in a way nothing else ever could, but there are times when Sabo looks every bit the nobleman his biological family wanted him to be. The line of his jaw and the fall of his hair and his deep set eyes are regal, especially when he’s focused, when he’s working through a problem, when he’s the last sane voice in a room and he’s waiting for the morons wasting his time to run out of breath.
And then his eyes flicker past Ace’s shoulder, and his expression transforms. The breath leaves him in a rush like it was punched out of him, his lips parting, blue eyes widening in a way that seems to shave whole years from his face.
Something causes him, impossibly, incongruously, to smile.
“Would you put money on that?” he asks.
“What? Yes,” Ace says, thrown off by the inappropriate lightness of his tone. He feels himself start to bristle defensively. “Are you even paying attention?”
“One of us has to,” Sabo says, only smiling wider, and Ace feels sparks falling off his fingers in sheer aggravation as he turns around to see what is so—
He has three seconds at most to take in the sight of Luffy hurtling up the hill at top speed. It’s been years and years, but three seconds is all he needs. His arms remember how to reach out and catch him.
“I waited where you left me, but you never came back!” Luffy shouts. “You can’t be mad! I waited and waited, and then I went out to find you instead! I didn’t remember you but I had to find you! I still don’t—I still don’t know some things—but I know it’s your fault for taking too long!”
Sabo lurches over and Luffy’s rubbery hug wraps around them both and Ace is too shell-shocked by the last minute to do anything but hug back.
Luffy shoves his face in Ace’s shoulder, and there’s a hot, wet smear of tears there. It gives away that Straw Hat Luffy, the pirate captain worth thirty million berries, is maybe not as grown-up as Ace had initially feared.
Sabo presses his face against the crown of Luffy’s head, too overcome to do anything but hold him. The regal young man from moments ago is long gone. The one standing here with them is that street-rat from Dawn who knew the best places to steal food from, who always made sure they never went hungry, who once shrugged off his fine winter coat at the market and traded it to a vendor for a pair of sturdy boots for Ace and thick woolen mittens for Luffy. He had shivered all the way home, where there was an extra coat in the treehouse he could use, until Luffy had the bright idea that they should all bundle into Ace’s oversized cloak together for warmth and whined until Ace agreed just to shut him up. That had been the most annoying hike up Mount Colubo in history. It’s a memory that Ace cherishes beyond reason.
Ace whispers, “Of course I’m not mad, Lu.” It’s been ages since he was that hostile, hateful little thing who would take a bite out of anything that dared to show its soft underbelly to him. He presses as close as he can, cheek to cheek with this piece of his family that’s gone missing for far too long, and adds, “You’ve never been obedient a day in your life. If I expected anything different, that’s on me.”
Luffy laughs, and it’s snotty and choked and pure music to Ace’s ears. The kid worms closer, makes himself smaller, and lets himself be held.
He doesn’t need his brothers. His shoulders are broad, and his arms are solid and strong. He’s already made a name for himself, and even now those two friends of his are lingering watchfully further down the road—far enough away to give the respectful illusion of privacy, near enough to make Ace and Sabo’s day a living hell if they try anything fishy. It’s probably been a long time since he’s needed someone to hold his hand or carry him home.
But if, by some insane, undeserved miracle, Luffy still wants them…
It’s enough. It’s more than enough. It’s more than Ace has had in ten years.
What one piece? he thinks, arms full and aching. I’ve got it all right here.

Musica Luffy aka Uta and Luffy Swap au aka the Luffy can sing au
Tumblr media
🌠BACKSTORY
After years of holding off finding someone to eat the ‘Gum-Gum fruit’ and Sing-Sing Fruit, shanks finds himself on a small island. Specifically, Dawn Island is home to two significant people. Monkey D Luffy and Portgas D Ace, one with a voice to inspire others and the other with the blood to lead a new generation. These two hold the power and determination to destroy the world government and free countless people. When Shanks finds them (or specifically his daughter befriends them) he first gives Luffy the SIng- Sing Fruit. The child is naive and quick to trust the newfound family of pirates, while Ace is warry. Despite Shank's good intentions and actually caring for the boy a lot. After the accidental destruction of Elegia at the hands of a possessed Luffy. Shanks leaves Luffy on Elegia and takes on the blame for the destruction, leaving Luffy to believe the Pirates betrayed and abandoned him. After years of training his voice, he can finally sing for the world's people, digitally broadcasting his voice to anyone who wants to listen. Through this, he can learn about the outside world he was shielded from. Creating a black and White moral of the world. Pirates Evil- Marines good. However, one night, he stumbles upon the truth of what happened. The night he was abandoned. How Shanks fought the Demon that possessed him and saved him. And how he (Luffy)- was the one that destroyed Elegia. He feels lied to, not by the Sanks and the others but by the people! How could they tell him how evil Pirates were when Shanks saved him and tried to save the island Luffy destroyed! Resentment and Self-hatred begin to bubble- and along with it, a plan.
The Plan
If Luffy can't convince normal civilians that pirates CAN be good, he'll just convince everyone that anybody can be WORSE.
Tumblr media
Things i forgot to point out: 1) When planning this trip to Elegia, Uta didn't want to go and Ace stayed behind on Dawn, Luffy was the only one who went. 2) When Shanks returned, Uta was saddened but Ace was furious, having just met Luffy and bonded with him like a brother. 3) Sabo exists, he just hasn't been super important in this au, he is practically the same as he was in the OG series. The fire happens, and Ace is alone until Uta and Shanks return. 4) The only reason Ace comes around to trust Shanks and Uta, is because they know his lineage and don't hate him for it and because Shanks tells him Luffy is still alive. He's just found a new passion. (a lie) 5) Uta stays fruitless, however, is incredibly trained in Haki. Having stayed on Shanks Crew as their musician. Is the one that learns the truth first about what happened on Elegia. 6) Ace is our universe Luffy. Of course a lot more serious and and older, but he still holds the same humor he did in the past. He stays on Dawn Island a little longer, leaving when he turns 20. He has the gum-gum fruit. Deuce is on the crew- along with the og Strawhats and more. Except Deuce has the flame-flame fruit. 7) Sabo is the same, a revolutionary. The only difference is that he recovers from amnesia by listening to Luffy's singing. 8) Shank's hat is still on Shank's head. Ace only wants to be remembered, but Luffy still wants to be the pirate king.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Film red 💥: Everything is almost the same- Ace and Uta specifically fall for Luffy's trap. Luffy is still gonna try and unalive himself trapping everyone in his sing world. The only difference is that he's specifically targeting civilians. Proving to everyone anyone can be evil. However, due to selfish reasons, he lets Ace and Uta stay cause he missed them and he honestly thought he'd never see them again.
Tumblr media
Anybody he obviously deems a threat- gets trapped the same way in the movie. So the movie is practically the same- but instead of finding out what happened later in the movie, Ace finds out through Uta pretty early on.
Sabo and Shanks are still on the other side, the real world, fighting against marines. Everything continues until Tot Musica is summoned. Luffy is tired due to fatigue and having to stay awake in the real and sing world. Not thinking straight, he thinks if he summons Tot Musica and lets the demon possess him again. If they (Ace, Uta, sabo, Shanks, and all the other pirates) destroy Tot Musica, they unalive him. He's willing to do this and summons Tot Musica, the fight goes as normal, and they're even able to save Luffy.
Tumblr media
The movie ends the same way in the Og. He's saved from the demon, shanks officially, and verbally adopts Luffy. Luffy- (who's been taking wake-wake shrooms (Which keeps a person awake but shorten their life span) is given the cure after he releases everyone from his sing world.
Ace, Sabo, Luffy, and Uta reunite and promise to keep in touch via letters and den dens. Luffy is given the strawhat when he finally announces his dream “To be the most free man and free other people with his voice” and to be the freest, you have to become the pirate king.
His first pirate crew (even though Ace offers for him to join his crew- Luffy immediately refuses since “if I'm going to be pirate king, then i have to be the captain” argument.) consists of Uta and og strawhat crew (Ace has a giant pirate crew- and thought people with big dreams should stick together, so he sent them to watch over his little brother).

OP social media headcanons (only some lol)
thinked too hard about what some OP characters social media use would be like
The Strawhats:
Luffy: avid IG reels and Youtube shorts user, they do not let his ass on tik tok. He posts random shit he sees on his IG story and also makes reels about beetles. He begs Usopp to help him make a YouTube channel but Usopp will do most of the work for it so he's not fully on board yet
Chopper: Gen Alpha realness he is crazy about Roblox, they don't really let him have his own account but he look at reels and shorts with Luffy
Zoro: Literally nothing but youtube to watch workout, sword, martial art, fitness, and like some eastern philosophy motivational content. Nami also downloaded a locator app on his phone so the strawhats can find him and stop him from wandering to another country. Oh and he tried google maps, fucking hated it
Sanji: He is sharing flowery good morning gifs on whatsapp and facebook all the time. He runs the account for the baratie on Instagram and it's actually pretty savvy but also real. Oh and he's on Snapchat for loser reasons
Nami: Gen Z legend, she is PROLIFIC. Makes really cool tik toks about navigation and is lowkey an educational influencer. Also is on Instagram and is somewhat villainous on Twitter with Usopp. Scams people on Discord
Usopp: Lord he is on everything. He will demolish you on Twitter, Nami helps, he has doxxed evil bitches with her help. He's evil in IG reel comment sections but not like that bad. Oh and he posts pretty cool stuff on tik tok and Ig reels about all the stuff he makes, everyone always hypes his art. Oh and like he's probably always just looking for tips on Reddit and sharing answers too
Robin: Tumblr most definitely, archeology and history blog on tumblr
Franky: Runs a facebook account and instagram account for his mechanic? woodworking, robotics just whatever the fuck shop, we love him for it.
Jinbei: Facebook mom, also shares dumb stuff he sees on facebook to the others on whatsapp
Brook: Also just nefarious on Facebook but Usopp helped him open an account to post music, has a following from people who were fans of him back in the day and also just music fans.
This isn't a me post if I don't talk about the ASL brothers sighs
So the brothers overall have a childhood youtube channel with vlogs they would post of their shenanigans, has a lot of of fun and crazy stuff on there. They kept it all out of fondness for the memories.
Sabo: Lord... he is on political twiter bullying THE FUCK out of right wingers. He is practically everywhere, he runs a tik tok account for political organizing and education that Koala also runs with him. He has used tumblr, but not really much. He has an Instagram he mostly neglects for being crazy and discussing theory on Twitter. He goes on Discord sometimes but the modern au version of the revolutionary army shed that for Signal I guess. Sabo is also on bluesky, idk what goes on there though.
Ace: mostly offline, justs uses Whatsapp to chat with his people yeah.
I'm gonna add Law to this post too because bye
Law: LinkedIn... ew... and twitter but like in a stressed way like he just scrolls on it and just tweets about his life.

Brook: The ghost of a bard that haunts the royal castle due to his unfinished buisness in the living world and his promise to an old friend
Tumblr media
Jimbei: A forenier from a far away kingdom whose job is to ensure a good relationship between the two monarchies.
Koala: A peasant girl from the nearby village, she secretely meets up with Prince Sabo and is really good friends with him.
Tumblr media
Yamato: A banished prince turned knigth, his goal is to one day confront his evil father and set his homeland free. He was able to form a really good friendship with Prince Ace.
Tumblr media
Law: A plauge doctor whose family and everyone he knew from his own village dued if a misterious illness.
Tumblr media
Koby and Helmeppo: Princess Luffy's personal royal guards who were approved and trained by King Garp himself. (Koby has a huge crush on her.)
Tumblr media
Princess Shirahoshi of the Ryugu Kingdom, Princess Vivi of the Arabasta Kingdom, and Princess Rebecca of the Dressrosa Kingdom.
Tumblr media
Sunny and Merry, two of the royal trained horses and Princess Luffy's favourite pets.
I'll probably make more, I liked making these.
These are really good suggestions, I especially like the idea of Coby and Hellmep as Luffy's personal royal guards. And of course Merry and Sunny as horses, this idea is so cute!

ALTA au.
Imu is the avatar, she just turned evil.
Luffy, Ace and Sabo are all fire benders. Nami is also a fire bender because I want her to bend lightning. Zoro and Sanji are non benders. Ussop, Franky and Brook are all earth benders. Jimbei is a water bender, Robin is an air bender. Chopper is a raccoon deer.
Luffy and Ace grew up in the earth kingdom where Luffy met Zoro after he and Ussop set out to travel the world.
Nami was on the run from the fire kingdom and was traveling with a water bender group. When she was off messing with a non bender group she met Luffy and Zoro.
They still become wanted criminals because Luffy is incapable of following any laws.
While in a fire bender settlement they met Robin, who's still wanted for forbidden knowledge but now she can suffocate people with bending.
They also met Franky there.
Brook just wears a mask, he was wanted but now he's legally dead.

cleaned up the magical girls au info
Sora and Zeff are siblings from a magical kingdom, the kingdom is threatened by darkness (you know who it is) and Sora has to do magical girl work because of course she is the chosen one. The kingdom is attacked and their parents send them to this world to be safe (Zeff protects Sora and Sora does classic magical girl job). Classic magic girl plot of the 80's, 90's and early 2000's. Sora meets Judge and also classic magical girl romance of "loves my alter ego".
Time passes, Sora's identity is revealed, they graduate and get married, Judge opens his own lab (he's a scientist), Zeff continues with the family restaurant they had opened as a cover for their identities; the fight against the dark forces continues. Suddenly: SURPRISE, Judge yada yada, bad and only loved Sora out of scientific curiosity about magic and experimentation and never really loved her, boom Sora's powers lose strength at a critical moment in the fight against the forces of evil (by this point Reiju and the quadruplets are born) and the forces of evil are trying to get to earth, as a final attempt to stop them, Sora uses what strength she has left and becomes a seal that keeps them at bay. Zeff keeps the kids and raises them without mentioning the magical world. Years later, one of Judge's experiments attacks the city and spontaneously activates the girls' magical girl powers. Turns out that Judge managed to make contact with the dark forces and now works for them in exchange for knowledge.
Only girls inherit magical abilities, boys, like Zeff and Reiju use magical/scientific devices to transform themselves.
The magic kingdom is All Blue, Sora's princess title is "Princess of the Sea", and her magical girl title is "Shielding Gold"
Zeff's magical boy title is Blinding White"
Buggy was a good magical girl but because of Shanks she turned into a dark one.
Mihawk was originally a dark magical girl but because of Shanks she became a good one.
Judge is kind of looking for his daughters to take them away from him.
Some more world lore:
The devil fruits do exist, they're rare treasures from the world/dimension Sora belongs to and are used to make magical girls, they were supposed to be sealed away by Sora in the other realm along with the forces of evil, but they start to appear on earth (along with the forces of evil).
Sora, as the princess of the All Blue, didn't actually need the fruits to make magical girls, as she could briefly share her powers with others (tho it is detrimental to her health), however, this is still rather limited, which is part of the reason Shanks had to stop being a magical girl while Buggy, who had eaten a devil fruit, kept her powers.
Devil fruits also have a timer or technical limit, like the villains, in order to transform they need to take a bite of the fruit, until the fruit is completely consumed and is reborn somewhere else, meaning that Sabo can get to use the mera mera no mi without Ace having to die. And like in canon, the fruits can only have an user at a time and cannot be consumed by someone else while they haven't been finished by the current user (literally, nothing bad will happen but the bitten part will regrow) Which also explains Buggy's temporal absence, as she had finished her fruit and needed to look for it.

OP ASL brothers older brother Ace au part 2
Luffy and Sabo accepted Ace's invitation on traveling with him and his crew, in that very same moment they said yes both of them packed their things (they didn't had lots of stuff to begin with) and they filled their pockets with treasure that it'll be enough for surviving a few trips until Ace return with his crew. Sabo left a letter on the bandits house so they know they left, as soon as they step foot on the Striker in the blink of an eye they were leaving Dawn island. The children were beyond excited, finally they will go to the sea and have a bunch of adventures with their awesome older brother! In the way Ace was telling them stories about his crew's adventures, the island he visited and did his best to answer their questions no matter how strange or difficult. The three of them landed on the closest island to take a break, of course with precautions to avoid any unwanted attention. Ace normally would go without worry, but now he has two brothers in his care and he needed to be careful and that was something he was no expert. The three of them went to a tavern so they could eat, especially the two Ds who are bottomless pits.
Ace needed to make a few errands so their brothers can be prepared for the outcome, now he knows what Dandan felt like provide him the first necessities for him to be alive, the difference is that he is not doing it for one child but for two and one of them is an uncontrollable ball of energy that can't be still in one place. And of course a spacious place where the three can be, as fast the Striker is, it's does not hold that much space. So basically the entire week being on East blue was Ace looking for essentials for his brothers so they can be prepared in Grand Line, them trying to keep themselves out of trouble. Keyword: trying, because in the same week a marine team recognized him and they tried to capture him. To make matters worse, they announced that "Firefist Ace kidnapped children", which of course it pissed Ace, like how dare they say he is now a kidnapper? Sure he steals, fight marines, disturbs the peace, be an occasional troublemaker, but a kidnapper never. A pirate he may be, but he has limits and morals damn it! In the end, he give up on fighting this matter, the government is the government so of course they're gonna say this kind of bullcrap cause c'mon, since when people are gonna belive that two actual children decided to join a pirate crew to the Grand line, who by the way the captain was their brother.
However this resulted in a problem, and that was him being chased almost every single day, to "rescue" this innocent children from this evil pirate grasp, in some point it's almost funny how this guys were trying to rescue children who weren't even kidnapped in the first place. Not only him, but Sabo thinks is hilarious too, makes some jokes about the matter but Luffy is more straightforward saying that the marines were dumb. In the serious side, Ace worries that one day another marine attack ends up being the old geezer. Ace fears if they encounter the old geezer, he won't stand a chance against him and take his brothers from him. The last stop on the last island on East blue, ended up being the most chaotic one before they left the Grand line. First of all, Ace was not happy docking on Logetown cause this was the island where his bastard of a father was born and executed.
At first, Ace didn't want to dock on this island for obvious reasons, even the little ones noticed this to the point that Luffy himself said that he won't go to the island if Ace didn't wanted despite him being more excited than anyone to explore this island. Looking at the faces of disappointment of the little boys, Ace relised that he can't just stop the excitment for adventure of his brothers because of his personal issues, he vowed that he'll raise his brothers to be the most freest persons in the world, him being a pirate himself should know any better. A pirate taking the freedom of another future pirate it's not fair, it made him release that he's being a selfish fool and a hypocrite, so he did his best to masked his troubles and put the best face for them and hyped then into adventure once more. Which fortunately, worked, especially for Luffy that just listening that they will explore Logetown he was the first to stepped out of the Striker and sprinted further into the island with Sabo hot on his trails so he can avoid that his little brother do his shenanigans.
Ace was following close behind them, as a responsible brother that he should be, he was supposed to watched them closely, but in the end he decided to be a little close and let their brothers do their brothers have their fun. "They deserve have their fun" he thinks with a smile on his face. With Luffy and Sabo, Luffy wanted to see the execution platform and Sano following behind him while yelling at him that they need direction's. In a short time, they gathered some attention. By chance, they encountered with Smoker and asked him about the execution platform, he told them where to go and giving the thanks the kids go to their destination. Smoker was hella confused about this kids being alone around here, he knew some kids can be curious about the execution platform where the pirate king died, but the children usually where accompanied by a grown up. Either they got separated from their guardians or something else, but before he could think of anything else, a marine went to him and informed him that Ace was here and he forgot about anything else and went straight to his duty.
Ace was just exploring around the island without having the enthusiasm about it, he was just walking around with his head on the clouds, after all, being in the island of the man he's trying to surpass isn't a pleasant feeling, not even helping unto the fact that the little ones that he passed around where talking about the pirate king and the parents giving them a reprimand about that evil man. Seriously, no matter how many times he hears it he won't ever get accustom to those comments, like his wound never healed in the first place and that allowed the shadows of his past to hunt him now. Without realizing it, he ended up in the last place where he wanted to be, face to face in the execution platform, he contemplated it not in intrest whatsoever, more like resentment. Resentment on all the problems his father had because of him, because on carrying his blood in his veins cost him a pain that he'll never get over the comments the people made about him, on how they cursed him and telling him straight forward he was a demon a child that should've never been born. That his mere existence is a sin, cost the life of an innocent woman that didn't deserved that kind of fate. Ace hated him because from the day he was born he never knew the freedom, only suffering. His thoughts where abruptly interrupted over a commotion, he came back to reality and saw people panicking over a child on the execution platform.
"Now who is irresponsible enough to leave their dumb children climb the platform?" he thought, as he sees the plank of the platform and sees Luffy. Oh it's Luffy.....wait "LUFFY!! GET DOWN FROM THERE!!" Immediately he went close to the platform, ignoring the fact that the security was looking at him, security be dammed his brother is doing a reckless "LUFFY GET DOWN FROM THERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!" Sabo then appeared and joined Ace on shouting at Luffy to get down, but Luffy was so eager on his view and excitement that didn't noticed Ace or Sabo calling for him, as for things couldn't get any worse Smoker appeard with marine troops and they where surrounded. As Smoker was telling Ace to surrender and free those children- "LUFFY I SWEAR TO ANY LIVING THING ON EARTH IF YOU DON'T GET DOWN THERE YOU'LL GET IN BIG TROUBLE!!!" They where completely ignoring them, Smoker just shut up and saw in amusement how this people where interacting, it wasn't his imagination either when he listen to other of his fellow marines, commenting about how unusual the scene was totally different from what the reports say. This wasn't a kidnapper and hostage situation, this was a ridiculous sibling argument. Ace telling the boy named Luffy to get down, Luffy telling them no, Ace saying he'll be grounded for the next few weeks, is he actually punishing the kid to eat greens instead of meat? The kid Luffy actually was arguing about this too? And the other kid joined the scolding? What the hell is this?
The moment finally took action when Ace started to climb the execution platform to get Luffy, Smoker finally took action, using his devil fruit to surround Ace and push him down of the platform and so Ace was obligated to fight with him. The battle was complicated since Ace had to be in more places than one, fighting with Smoker and putting down marines to avoid for them to get any of his brothers. The battle seemed that the marines where winning, Luffy knew this and in his desire of helping he shouted a battlecry AND HE JUMPED "LUFFY!" Ace sprinted in the speed of light and with one leap he catch the little body and landed on his feet. He put the little boy down to see if he was hurt, seeing no injuries whatever Ace smacked Luffy's head "WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU THINKING?! YOU COULD'VE DIED!! YOU THINK YOU'RE MADE OF RUBBER AH?!" And Smoker watched once again how Ace was scolding the little one, the other kid joined the scolding but was hugging Luffy after seeing he was ok. Getting serious, Ace ordered the boys to get on the Striker and wait for him so him can gain more time and the kids run. Ace stayed far behind to fight with Smoker, which the battle was inconclusive since Ace left in a hurry when he heard that back up was coming up. Finally, Ace arrived to the Striker where his brothers were waiting for him and they sailed away from the island once and for all. After the battle, Smoker informed the marine HQ about what happened, even he telling about what he saw he knew the government will twist the truth so he didn't give a damn what his superiors said and decided to take this situation on his own terms.
Finally, the brothers entered the Grand line, adventure is into them and they couldn't be more excited about it. By this time, Ace took out the Deuce's vivre card to reunite with him once again. It where exciting and dangerous days, but they managed every single obstacle in the way. Finally, the vivre card send him into a deserted island, full of vegetation almost like mountain Corvo, so they dock on the island and they started to explore. Ace let his brothers to have their fun as him was following the vivre card, when he arrived he saw his second in command and some of his crewmates and just by seeing Ace they became happy. They surrounded their captain, telling them how glad they are to see him again, glad that he was alive among so many other things and Ace couldn't feel any happier. Deuce got close to Ace and hugged him, telling him that finally he remember them as a joke which Ace laughed knowing damn well he wouldn't never forget them. The moment of joy was interrupted when the crew noticed their two little guests, where the hell did they came from? They looked at them, then looked at Ace and Deuce understood what his stupidhead of a captain did, still, he denied it until he heard it from Ace.
"Ace..."
"Yeah?"
"Who are these children?"
"Oh, them? My little brothers, they are accompanying us now. Say hi you two"
"Yo"
"Pardon WHAT-?! SINCE WHEN YOU-?! ACE GET BACK HERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!" Deuce then started to scream profanities and demanding an explanation while chasing Ace, the crew was astonished and Luffy was saying that Ace's crew is weird and funny which Sabo agreed with him with a laugh.
On the other side of the Grandline, a certain first commander was standing in the deck, at first it may seemed he was looking at the beautiful sight of the ocean, but this wasn't the case. Marco, the first division commander of the Whitebeard pirates was looking at the newspapers, specifically, he was looking through the news of the infamous rookie Fire fist Ace. The newest article informing the movements of Ace, the amount of chaos he caused on his last stop on East blue, seeing the newspaper make him sick. Unknown to the crew, for the past few months he was keeping track on Ace's footsteps, this perusing was both in a professional and personal way. On one side, he had to keep his responsibilities of First division commander, helping his captain on this problems of the major situation of what happened in one of their territories, on the other hand his personal side just boils from anger. Thanks to the little stunt Ace had cause, their ship had an unwanted tension.
In his years he have seen and fought with fools who thought they known any better, thinking they could beat his captain, but Ace was the biggest fool he have seen until now and in some point it disgusted him. He normally wouldn't belive what the navy said, but on one thing they could share is the same thought in bring that rookie down. Not only that he dared to to trespass their territory and do whatever he pleased, but he also dared to hurt his fellow crewmates, the coward then hid his sorry ass for heavens knows how long and maked his glamorous return with innocent children in his hands. Just how disgusting of a human being can he be, he thought. He has to be a idiot to think he'll have a free pass if he thinks that innocent children would be his salvation, then he is mistaken. Fire fist still, has unfinished business with the Whitebeard pirates, so he better prepares himself and he better don't hurt those children, otherwise...
"You better enjoy your breaths while you still can, Fire fist yoi. Maybe they'll be your last ones."

one piece x inuyasha au bc I'm insane and wrote this during my break today
luffy is a human kid* sent to the great demon era (I'm great at naming <3) where demons rule the lands after he falls through a cursed well in the forest where he and sabo and Ace grew up. he seeks to collect all the pieces of the shikon jewel and put them back together into....one piece. (loud booing) listen,
in this era, the wielder of the shikon jewel becomes the most powerful demon that rules over all the others. luffy does not care that he's human. he wants that damn jewel
zoro is still a swordsman. not much changes. people think he's a demon, but he's actually just a really strong human who can use techniques like asura. he was a demon hunter for spare change after he got lost leaving his home village. not much changes there, either
nami is a petty thief and navigator who used to work for the demon arlong. she starts to awaken some priestess powers with usopp's help and the staff he gives her, though she doesn't really follow any other priestess rules. she learns other magic, too, still messing with the weather and wielding a variety of attacks without a care for whether they're sacred or demonic
usopp's following in the footsteps of his father- a priest turned adventurer killing wayward demons along the way. his weapon of choice in this au is a bow and arrow which sometimes he and Nami will work together to bless the arrows!
sanji is a travelling cook who's secretly the son of a daiyoukai. due to his mother's intervention, he's a hanyou, but he passes as human and his crew doesnt know he is one.
chopper is a little reindeer demon who's learning medicine and priesthood under the care of lady kureha, joining luffy's crew after they defeat the demon wapol
robin is a demon from ohara who works under the demon warlord Crocodile for a little while, fulfilling a role similar to kaguya. she deserts him after luffy and crew save vivi and the alabasta region from his reign, but she's still wanted by the world at large for being a "dangerous type of demon" with knowledge of the old world and the creation of the shikon jewel passed down in her clan.
franky is a human/zombie/demon hybrid who survived an explosion after his mentor, a demon named tom, was attacked. he put himself back together with human and demon parts alike, similarly to how sesshomaru and naraku would absorb spare body parts in the og show. he's a blacksmith!
Brook is a revived man much like kikyo was brought back by demonic methods. he has to consume souls to keep living, but he only steals the souls of their enemies. he's also pretty bad at it. he's still a musician, though his instruments are a bit more traditional
jinbei is a whale shark yokai, so a fish yokai from the same clan as Arlong...but not evil lmao. he used to be a warlord too, but decided he didn't like the whole feudal part. he's the crew's cultural guide and diplomat of sorts, attempting to keep peace between demon territories and human villages they visit alike from freaking out when a rag tag group of thieves, demons, priests, and fighters show up on their doorstep. he and robin discuss history and archeology often, and in theory robin has a lot of the same knowledge jinbei does, but jinbei has better....people skills.
the setting would be the inuyasha universe, feudal / yokai infested Japan. however, the world government is an issue in luffy's time (1500's fictional goa kingdom) that secretly has ties to accessing the demon world. I haven't thought out the logistics fully, yet. but you can bet your ass luffy's mentor shanks, who is often gone on long "journeys," was actually traveling back and forth from the feudal era and the goa kingdom this whole time.
* spoilers below
* I haven't gotten ro gear 5 yet myself but I imagine luffy is secretly the reincarnation of the demon "joy boy", which will. aid the whole shikon jewel thing. and is also why he is able to traverse the cursed well.
though, humans like shanks seek out the jewel too, for the power it can hold in controlling demons or perhaps (myth?) giving them the power of one.

Straw Hats Pokemon League AU Part 2
Part 1 : Gym Leaders (Usopp, Chopper, Nami, Brook, Franky, Robin, Jinbe, Sanji) I thought of making the elite 4 yonko or former yonko, warlords etc but it got a bit weird figuring out who would qualify for it so I figured I'd just choose four of my favourite characters and run with it. As stated in the previous post, everyone is alive and well and it's all very wholesome; I'm not making an evil team either because there's too many goddamn antagonists to establish something coherent. All elite 4 members get full teams off the bat because I can
Ground Specialist Nefertari Vivi: Vivi is part of a tradition of ground type elite 4 members including her dad and Crocodile and she’s thriving! Cobra is doing just fine and both of them have mentored her to varying degrees, although she still maintains (justifiably) that Crocodile is an asshole. I like the idea of her wearing her coronation outfit in the official league battles and switching to more casual stuff when you actually see her in her hometown. Golduck is there as a tribute to Karoo, and the Sandaconda is a nod to Cobra. Hippowdon would help set up sand streams but also per the first post it’s implied that she gave Nami a hippopotas egg that hatched from her own. Cobra has a Nidoking and Crocowani has a Krookodile. Team: Golduck, Garchomp, Sandaconda, Gastrodon, Hippowdown, Nidoqueen
Fire Specialists Portgas D. Ace and Sabo: Ace is the successor to Whitebeard’s old elite 4 position, and *dealing with some stuff* after a lifetime of inferiority complex knowing he’s the son of a former GOAT champion. After you clear the league, he decides to take a bit of a mental health break and Sabo fills in for him, although you can still find him for rematches. I almost almost gave Brook the Skeledirge because I wanted him to have more musical Pokemon, but I thought it’d be funny to give Ace a ghost type (wink wink nudge nudge) His team’s not the most balanced in that it has a lot of sweepers and is very offence oriented, but I think that suits his character and there’s some thought behind it (lots of drought and heat rocks to nerf water as much as possible and boost the team, probably an air balloon here and there to help balance out the ground weakness, and give the Incineroar and Armarouge some fighting moves to counter rock types). Sabo is also kind of a fire specialist, but he gets lots of dragon types as a tribute to his mentor and signature attacks in canon. He also gets a Charizard to kind of link the two brothers since the Mera Mera doesn’t exist in this world. Ace’s Team: Volcarona, Mega Charizard-Y, Drought Torkoal, Armarouge, Skeledirge, Incineroar Sabo’s Team: Mega Charizard X, Haxorus, Ceruledge, Chandelure, Turtonator, Salamence
Mixed Dark/Fairy Specialist Charlotte Katakuri: I was caught between having either him or Kidd as the third elite 4 member but I ended up choosing Katakuri just because I personally enjoy him more. I thought of giving him a dessert team at first but there’s no donut Pokemon as of yet and I figured that would suit Linlin better in the event that I do make a team for her, so I’m giving him a lot of dark and fairy types. Mismagius and Hatterene are both there as tributes to Brûlée and I wanted to give the bitey boy something known mostly for its extremely prominent hidden jaw as his ace/signature Pokemon  Team: Grimmsnarl, Obstagoon, Clefable, Mismagius, Hatterene, Mega Mawile
Ice/Water Specialist Trafalgar D. Water Law: Law still has his submarine, although he uses it a bit more for research purposes; you run into him in the Polar Tang while you’re being dragged around doing underwater side quests at Jinbei’s behest. The Beartic, Cetitan and Empoleon are there mostly as tributes to Bepo, Shachi/Hakugan, and Penguin, and he leans toward ice/water specialization because of his crew and their polar theming. I thought about giving him an Eiscue, but I figured Empoleon would help balance the team a bit more and generally feels slightly more sword-fighty. Alolan Ninetales is the exception to the polar marine animal theme (although ig it could technically be an arctic fox) but it’s mainly just there to set up hail and I don’t think Aurorus suits Law any better. I thought of giving him an arctozolt to match the colour scheme of the Polar Tang but I ended up choosing Weavile just because it seemed more aesthetically suited to him.  Team: Beartic, Cloyster, Cetitan, Empoleon, Alolan Ninetales (snow warning), Weavile
Champion Roronoa Zoro: Zoro is, at present, the champion of the region although he doesn’t really think it suits him, and straight up tells the player that someone else who’s stronger and who he’s deeply loyal to should really be in his place right now. His team is annoyingly, almost detrimentally sword-themed and painfully unbalanced. He’s basically the Wallace of this world, in that he’s got the chops to be where he is but he’s still basically filling in for the real champion/final boss (Luffy) It’s implied that he and Sanji had a massive fight over who should take the seat after Luffy stepped away from being the Champion; Sanji claims he chose his current job so that he could focus more on his cooking but keeps insisting he totally could have beaten Zoro is he really wanted to and it remains a major point of contention. The rest of their friend group is sick of it.   Team: Samurott, Scizor, Lucario, Mega Gallade, Absol, Kingambit
Final Boss: Pokemon Trainer Monkey D. Luffy This one’s a bit weird; Luffy’s team isn’t meant to be especially balanced or well thought out because Luffy isn’t a strategist and chooses his companions on pure instinct, but he still needs to have those mythical Zoan attributes, a monkey theme, and stand head and shoulders above all the other bosses, so I slapped a bunch of legendaries/mythical Pokemon that had Luffy vibes onto his team and let him approach battles with a “hit hard, ask questions later” kind of attitude. The Infernape was his starter and given to him by Ace, who obviously raises little fire types in his free time, and it’s there for the obvious Wukong connection. Annihilape kind of reminds me of gear 5, the Tauros is a tribute to Ucy/Moocy, Hoopa has chaos vibes, and Victini is there as a symbol of victory and liberation. Pokemon Trainer Luffy's Team: Paldean Tauros (Combat Breed), Infernape, Zarude, Annihilape, Hoopa, Victini
I figure other Yonko, Warlords, Supernovas, or major antagonists could be frontier brains or something along those lines but I have spent enough time coming up with Pokemon teams for now.
