one of my faults with the new descendants movie is that significant character development/changing dynamics seemed to ONLY happen during song. like you would start a song with a character having one opinion, and then you would finish the song and you’d have a new one
it almost feels like the movie was originally planned as a tv show but then changed to be a movie, and to save on time they just turned anything taking up too much time in a song. even tho I don’t imagine this was the case at all
the two major offenders being the conflict of red and chloe thinking they were enemies was immediately resolved it in the duration of the song fight of our lives, and in a similar sense, chloe learns about moral ambiguity only during the get your hands dirty song
love ain’t it and perfect revenge and life is sweeter are stronger songs to me because for love ain’t it, it just goes “look, here’s how the queen of hearts feels about love, and here is how red feels about her mother”, and a very brief how red and chloe feel about each other, but doesn’t immediately dive into anything and just sets up room for conflict in the rest of the story
similarly, life is sweeter is like “here are the idealogical differences between bridget and ulyana. But also: this is also here specifically contrast love ain’t it, to illustrate the stakes of red and chloe have in their mission because THIS is what they have to lose”. and then perfect revenge is like “here’s how ulyana feels about bridget: she fucking hates her”. which like. i love bridget but it's a based af song
and then there are a lot of people that are mad that the shuffle of love song was cut and only appeared as diegetic sound when bridget was showing off her little dancey dance, but actually, I see why it was cut. while it was a fun song that I enjoy and listen to, it didn’t tell us anything new about bridget's feelings
in the first 3 descendants movies the songs were more to like. To examine a character’s inner feelings as a musical SHOULD be, but like the development happened across the duration of the movie. song didn't exist solely to fastforward the plot. did i mention is like “look ben is really fucking in love with mal”. evil like me represents mal’s inner struggles (I HATE when people thought maleficent ACTUALLY appeared in auradon to personally talk to mal about her self esteem. Even as a child it was glaringly obvious that it was literally mal’s musical equivalent of “hmmm what would my mum do??”). what’s my name communicates uma’s dislike of the isle. even queen of mean demonstrates audrey’s bitterness, one kiss conveys evie’s fears about love because she’s NEVER experienced real love before, and night falls conveys the conflict between the core4 and uma’s trio WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY SOLVING IT IN THE SAME SONG unlike fight of our lives, and they spend the entire movie butting heads and learning to respect and trust one another

Rise of Red
So I’m watching this movie and doing Simone Biles levels of mental gymnastics to make this all connect to the original story and have the plot holes fill in. Here are my attempts at cohension from the beginning:
SPOILERS!!!!
It’s been 30 years since Auradon was founded.
The math isn’t mathing but sure, let’s say after D3, everyone went on adventures, Ben and Mal got married and they all took time to mature and grow in their roles. As the years have passed, they recognize what a terrible job Beast did as a leader and they want to increase trade and foreign relations with other countries.
Uma says that Ben and Mal put her in charge of everything while they (along with Evie and Jay) are making alliances with other countries.
Of course! Because Beast sucks as a leader so they don’t trust him to take back over even if only temporarily. Gil and Harry (and most of the pirates we’ve seen) are missing from Uma’s crew, because she asked them to help Ben and Mal on their journey. Hook is serving as Captain in Uma’s absence and Jay and Gil have grown very close since traveling Auradon together through the years so it makes sense.
Chad is Cinderella and Charming’s son, but Chloe will one day be queen of Cinderellasburg.
Cinderella and Charming had fertility issues at first and Chad is adopted. Chloe is their miracle baby and, though younger, is the true-born heir to the throne. They love and support Chad in all things and have pampered him his whole life. Given the struggles they had to conceive, they don’t regret showering Chad with love but they recognize he’s a bit spoiled and not fit to be king one day.
The future shows Red and the Queen of Hearts ruling on the throne together. I guess we’re assuming since she’s black and red it means she’s evil.
We never actually see that this future is prevented. The ultimate endgame may still be the same, that Red rules with her mother. I’m going to say, this future was not prevented, just that the Queen of Hearts turn to evil was delayed.
In the past, many of the heroes and villains that we know are in high school together.
Many but not all. This is just a blip in their histories and the stories to come in the future are still canon. We don’t actually see any of the villain/hero pairs (Maleficent & Aurora) (Hook & Peter Pan) (Hades & Hercules) so outside of two couples being established (Jasmine and Aladdin in love and Ella and Charming flirtation/mutual pining) there’s nothing that makes some of the stories automatically false. I’d say some of the events in high school just blacken their hearts more and turn them into real villains.
Bridget and Ella’s personalities seem to be switched (with a more evil skew on Bridget’s end as an adult). This one is long.
Ella was Bridget’s only friend and because she was grounded, she wasn’t supposed to be able to make it to the Castlecoming. She cancels on Bridget and leaves her alone. However, Fairy Godmother is also friends with Ella and has been practicing her magic more and is now in possession of a powerful spellbook (more on that later). She wants a way to help her and is finally successful casting an enchantment that gets Cinderella to the dance for a short time. When her curfew hits, the spell will be reversed and send her home. When she gets to the dance, instead of finding Bridget, she gets caught up in Charming and after the song playing changes to So This is Love, they share their first dance. The two are so engrossed in each other and discovering their feelings are mutual that she doesn’t notice anyone or anything else. However, Bridget sees her and is excited at first until she realizes Ella isn’t seeking her out. She’s stuck on Charming. The song playing when Ella walked in is Shuffle of Love and Bridget is trying to focus but makes a mistake. She turns again to Ella to see if she’ll jump in and help but she’s still too distracted by Charming. Left heartbroken she moves and just watches them on the dance floor while staying isolated on the sidelines. She tries to ignore her feelings because she should be happy for Ella but she can’t stop crying a little. She should’ve been there for her. Isn’t that what friends are for? Then, Uliana comes to talk to her and seemingly comfort her. For a second, she thinks she’s coming around to be her friend. She doesn’t think twice when she offers her a cupcake. Suddenly she’s transformed to a monster and everyone around her starts laughing. Ella and Charming’s attention is finally broken from each other and they turn to see what’s going on. Upon seeing this monster, they laugh too thinking it’s just a prank—with no idea who the monster is. But Bridget’s last shred of hope is broken seeing her only friend laugh at her pain after ignoring her the whole night. When Ella finally realizes who it is, she tries to run after her and loses her shoe. She almost catches her to comfort her but then is whisked away by Fay’s spell and finds herself back at, sitting in the barn. Ella, still grounded is left feeling a mixture of joy, love, pain and regret from the events of the night. She can’t contact Bridget or see her until school starts again on Monday. By Monday it’s too late. Bridget, having spent the weekend with no one to talk to or comfort her decides Love Ain’t It and takes on a new mantra for her life. She looks into the Looking Glass and sees her evil future with her daughter. Fine, if that’s what she becomes, why try? At school, Ella tries to apologize and beg for forgiveness but it’s too late. She tries to tell her how her kindness made her strong, how she’s always respected that about her and loves her like a sister but it’s not enough. She tries to show her with her actions. She takes on the persona Bridget always had because it was good, it was kind, it was true strength. She doesn’t want to suffer for one mistake and doesn’t want Bridget to allow that night to define her, but again, it’s too late. Bridget already knows how this story ends and it’s not with love and friendship. She decides to let the fear and power be her friend and becomes the worst bully they’ve ever seen.
Uliana and her crew were troublemakers so would never have been able to open the spellbook and prank Bridget.
Before Red and Chloe showed up, Uliana and her crew were going to lure someone else in to get the book. Fay! They manipulated her with fear and hope—the promise that she could use the Sorcerer’s book when they were done to perfect her magic. So she did it, just like her daughter tried to take the wand in D1.
Merlin just lets Red and Chloe into school, partners them with their mothers “coincidentally” and sees the open window after the break in but doesn’t try to find out who else was able to escape.
He’s aware that Red and Chloe are time travelers and knows there’s a reason to change the timeline as they have. He knows what’s to come with Beast banning magic and shipping off the villains. He wants to change that story too and these girls are the catalysts. This change in history is going to open the doors for magic to be welcomed back to Auradon in the future as they return and have to fix what they’ve changed.

Summary: Nick isn't too thrilled to learn his father is getting re-married, much less that his daughters are bridesmaids. And when a fight breaks out, Nick rushes down to get his girls.
Enjoy.

Tumblr media
A sigh rumbled past Nick's lips and he tilted his head back as he walked out the lift and down the corridor. His expression turned sour when he looked down at his watch and his upper lip curled. He was well overdue his lunch. All he managed this morning was one quick slice of toast before he had to be out the door and down to the precinct so he wasn't late.
Going down to visit victims, take statements and drop files off at Barba's office had taken a lot longer than Nick anticipated and lunch went by in a flash. He was starting to feel faint.
He could feel his steps slowing down as he approached the squad room. Part of Nick didn't want to go inside. He wanted to turn around and get something to eat and go home. He didn't want to walk back in there and slump down at his desk in time for more work to pile up in front of him and keep him busy. He had barely sat down all day.
Just as he turned the corner, Nick's eyes opened and his head snapped down to take a quick look around when he heard an all-too familiar voice.
"Daddy!"
A bright smile pulled at Nick's lips almost immediately and he quickly crouched down and opened his arms out to his daughter. Evie was here. She was here at the station, which meant (Y/n) had to be here too.
"Baby, you okay? What're you doing here?" Nick reeled Evie into his chest and stood up, cuddling her close when she tucked her face into his neck. He felt her arms wrap tightly around his neck and his smile brightened when she kissed his chin.
Her hands tapped against the back of his neck and her legs circled around his middle while he shuffled her round so she was perched on his hip. The four year old giggled as she clung to Nick and tucked her head against his shoulder when he started to sway them from side to side.
"We came to see you," She whispered into his neck and moved one hand to point towards his desk.
Nick glanced over to see what, or who, she was pointing at and he made his way over to his desk when he noticed a familiar frame tucked down into his desk chair.
"Hi sweetheart," He murmured softly when he turned the chair around and crouched down in front of his eldest daughter. He loved the look of surprise on Sophia's face and when he opened his free arm up, the eight-year-old slumped forward into his chest.
He had two pairs of arms around his neck, pulling his head down and preventing him from taking proper, full breaths, but he wouldn't have it any other way. Nick looped his right arm around Sophia and lifted her up off his seat, holding one girl in each arm while he peppered kisses across their heads and held them close. He was suddenly glad they didn't have any suspects or crazed perps in the squad room today while his daughters were here.
"Where's your mum?"
Leaning to the right, Nick carefully eased both girls down to their feet and let Evie keep hold of his hand and pull his arm near her chest. She clung to him and glued herself up against his leg to stay close because she didn't know her surroundings very well.
Sophia leaned against his other leg and pointed ahead to where (Y/n) was just walking out of Olivia's office.
A tender smile formed on (Y/n)'s lips when she looked up and caught sight of Nick, one girl clinging to each leg like they owned him. She made her way towards the three of them and she sighed playfully when Nick instantly reached out for the toddler in her arms. (Y/n) obliged, easing Laura carefully into her husband's arms instead.
Her hand batted against his cheek and a squeal bubbled past her lips when she realised whose arms she was now in. Her lips parted in a smile and showed off the few teeth she was starting to get and she kicked her legs out into Nick's stomach as she started to bounce in his arms.
"Hi baby girl," He moved his hand to cradle the back of Laura's head and leaned close enough to peck her temple while she continued to make random noises into his neck.
All four of his girls were here now.
"So, why're my girls visiting me at work?" Nick kissed Laura's temple again, letting her nuzzle into him and thrash happily in his arms.
His eyes locked with (Y/n)'s, noticing the way her eyes darted around their little troop of girls before she looked back at Nick. They both knew there would be a reason she brought the girls down here, whether that was just because they missed him or they wanted to bring him lunch or tell him some news. There was always a reason.
(Y/n) watched Evie and Sophia both squash onto Nick's desk chair and she moved over to be next to them, perching on the edge of his desk. Her hands gripped the edge of the desk to keep herself level and her head ticked to one side as she watched their middle daughter.
Sitting on Nick's chair wasn't enough, Evie clamped her hands down on her dad's hip and used him to help her stand on his chair so she could lean into his chest. She bound her arms around him, digging her chin into his abdomen so she could stare up at him with big doe eyes full of love.
"We're gonna be bridesmaids."
Nick leaned his head to one side and looked down at Sophia. The eldest had a bright smile on her face and she clapped her hands, bubbling up on the spot as she practically bounced his chair up and down. He looked from her to Evie who was smiling, but not as brightly.
And when his eyes lifted to his wife, (Y/n) didn't look too thrilled, in fact, she looked apprehensive. She was biting her lower lip and kept darting her eyes around the room.
"Oh really? My pretty girls, huh." None of the girls had ever been bridesmaids or flower girls before. They didn't have many weddings in their family and none of their close friends had gotten married recently either. But the thought of the girls dressed up with flowers in their hair and dancing on the dance floor made Nick's lips curve into a grin.
But he couldn't think who was getting married. None of his or (Y/n)'s close friends had gotten engaged, and it would have to be a close friend or relative for the girls to be bridesmaids.
"Who's getting married then?"
"Grandpa."
A shudder crawled down Nick's spine and his smile morphed into a frown when he looked down at Evie. It was clear in her voice that she wasn't thrilled and he knew why; she wouldn't want to be bridesmaid for someone she barely knew.
"My father? He's in town?" Nick tried his best to control his tone because all three of his daughters were crowded round him, but he couldn't hide the blazing fury that burned in his eyes.
He looked across at (Y/n) who was close to drawing blood on her lip from how tightly she was biting down on it. She meekly nodded, trying her best to smile but she couldn't manage it anymore. She knew how bad the relationship was between Nick and his dad and she knew he wouldn't want the girls going to any wedding he was about to have.
"Carino, take Evie and go get a drink. No further than the vending machine please."
Nick rummaged in his pocket for all the loose change that was weighing him down and handed it to his eldest girl. He nodded towards the drinks machine in the hall which he could see from his desk. He didn't mind the girls wandering over there because it was still within his sights but he wouldn't have them wandering any further. The station was full of police, but they also had suspects here. He didn't want the girls getting lost or someone stranger trying to talk to them.
Once the pair of them trotted away from the desk, Nick nudged the chair towards (Y/n) and they swapped places. She sat down in his chair and Nick perched on the desk, adjusting Laura so she was sat on his knee with her back wriggling against his chest.
"Has he spoken to you?" Both his hands started to jitter on Laura's waist and he jostled his leg up and down causing her to coo and smile.
"Briefly, he was at your mum's house with Isabelle this morning, they didn't tell me he was coming." (Y/n) leaned forward until she could fold both arms on top of Nick's knees next to Laura's legs. She looked up at him through her lashes, pursing her lips.
She had gone to his mother's house with the intention of spending the morning there. She often took the girls round and they would all go out for a walk or do some baking or just spend time together. (Y/n) didn't know Nick's father was in town or that he would be there with Nick's younger sister.
Nick had never forgiven his father for losing his temper and hitting his mother, and he hated how his father always seemed to get away with it. He'd done it more than once, he was always shouting and becoming controlling and he had raised his hand to Nick during his childhood. After all that, Nick was glad not to have his father in his life or in the same state as him.
The girls knew of him, they had seen him on one or two family occasions, but they never spent time with him. The most they heard of him was when Nick's sister came to town and mentioned she had seen him. She was the only one who kept in contact with him.
"And you agreed the girls could go? You know I don't want them around him."
"Baby, I could hardly say no when your sister told the girls without asking. I was ambushed and Sophia wants to, what was I supposed to do?" She leaned into Nick's touch when he moved one hand to cup the side of her face. He smoothed his thumb across her jaw and tried to smile.
"Sorry." He wasn't trying to snap or be rude, but he didn't trust his father and he didn't want the girls getting close to him in case he ever lost his temper in front of them or God forbid, at them. "When's the wedding?"
"Next weekend, your mum's going with us, I know you'll be at work…" The silence behind (Y/n)'s words was clear. She knew with Nick being at work he would be happy and it might make things easier. He wouldn't want to be at the wedding and show fake support to a father he barely knew anymore. And he wouldn't play happy families with them either.
It was better that he stay away and (Y/n) would take the girls along with his mum. Once they'd had enough, they would just head back home, there was no obligation to stay long. And Laura was only one, they couldn't stay late and unsettle her, she would have to be settled to bed in the evening.
"Who's the lucky lady?"
(Y/n) couldn't help but smile at the sarcasm in Nick's voice and she tried not to roll her eyes.
"I don't know her name, but she's about Isabella's age." She grimaced when she watched Nick's expression change. It had been hard for (Y/n) and her mother in law to hide their unease when they learned how young Nick Senior's bride was.
It didn't sit well with any of them that he was going to marry someone more than half his age who was around the same age as his daughter. But they couldn't say anything or change his mind, all they could do was leave them be and let them get on with it.
"Christ."
Tipping his head down, Nick smothered his lips against the top of Laura's head just as Sophia and Evie came trotting back towards them, a drink in each of their hands.
Nick couldn't remember the last time he saw his father, but he remembered one of the last conversations he'd had with him.
His sister was the one to inform their father about how Nick was doing; she told him when Nick changed jobs, when he moved house. The only time Nick contacted his father was to say he'd had each of the girls, and that last conversation hadn't gone down well.
He had only just told his father that they'd had Laura and the response was:
'Oh well, you'll have a boy someday, Nicky.'
The words hadn't stung, they'd infuriated Nick. He had never cared what gender the baby would be each time (Y/n) got pregnant, but he was enamoured with all three of his girls. He loved the fact that he was a girl dad, he adored all three of them and he wouldn't be without them. It didn't bother him that he didn't have a boy, unlike his father.
His father was old fashioned, under the assumption that boys carried the name and the weight of the family. Nick wasn't in that mind of thinking and he didn't want his father around his daughters if he was going to be so disrespectful.
Clearly, his father was trying to make amends by having the girls as bridesmaids. Maybe he thought it was a way to get Nick back into his life and be in his good graces.
"So, what're you gonna wear?" Nick leaned over the chair until his nose nudged (Y/n)'s and his lips curved into a wolfish grin. He guessed by the sudden wedding date that his father had probably picked out the bridesmaid dresses for the girls.
But the thought of wondering what (Y/n) was going to wear made Nick disappointed that he wasn't going to be there with them.
He felt the way Laura leaned forward too and stretched her arms out, grabbing at (Y/n)'s hand while (Y/n) tilted her head up and caught Nick in a kiss. She slid her hand around to cup the back of his neck, digging her fingers into the short strands of hair just to feel him growl against her lips. And she felt the longing in his kiss when he pulled back as their other two girls came clambering back at their sides.
"Something purple, to match the girls." (Y/n) murmured in his ear before she straightened up and opened her arms so Evie could clamber onto her lap.
"My favourite colour." Suddenly, Nick wasn't so happy about missing the wedding after all. Not if all his girls were going to look lovely, and he wouldn't be there to see or appreciate it.
***
"So, show me a picture then."
A coy grin pulled at Nick's face and he tilted his head down to hide the look in his eyes when he thought about the reel of photos saved into his phone from this morning.
Nick had been more than relieved that he didn't have to deal with any family drama today. He had seen his mum and his sister during the week, he had spoken to them both- and had a few choice words with Isabella about going behind his back and agreeing for the girls to be bridesmaids without asking first. But he'd made peace with them both and if they wanted to attend his father's wedding, Nick wasn't going to grumble.
The one downside was that Nick had seen all four of his girls get dressed up this morning and he realised that he was going to miss out. He would miss out on being with them and seeing how lovely his daughters would look throwing petals and walking behind the bride. He was missing out on seeing them get their photos taken and dance and enjoy the day.
And he was missing out on being with (Y/n).
She had found a plum coloured dress that matched what the girls would be wearing and the only glimpse of this dress Nick got was when (Y/n) got dressed this morning. It was enough to make him reach for his phone to call in sick so he could stay with his wife and admire how she looked.
He was praying that his shift wouldn't run over tonight so when he got home, he could still see (Y/n) in that dress and have the pleasure of taking it off.
Since he hadn't been with any of his girls today, Nick had taken a dozen photos of them this morning and (Y/n) had recently sent him a dozen more from the ceremony.
As he and Amanda walked back into the squad room, he fished around in his pocket for his phone to show her the pictures he took this morning. Although he wasn't showing her them all. He had taken a few choice ones of (Y/n) this morning that no one else was permitted to see.
"I don't think Laura was impressed, but Sophia and Evie will probably sleep in those dresses tonight." Nick handed over his phone to show the photos and he smiled as he looked at his girls.
Laura was only a toddler and she wasn't the best at dressing up or staying neat and tidy. But the other two girls would live in those dresses if they were allowed and Nick already knew that they wouldn't change out of them tonight. He would come home and find both girls asleep in their dresses like little fairies.
"Oh, they look so cute." Amanda gushed and flicked to the next photo while they both aimed for their desks.
Nick agreed. All his girls looked lovely. They each had a purple headband in and (Y/n) had curled Sophia and Evie's hair this morning into ringlets, while Laura's short hair was naturally curly as it was.
When Amanda handed the phone back to him, he slumped down in his desk chair and swiped to look at the photos of (Y/n). He loved the way she grinned at the camera and seemed to smile brightly with her eyes. And he loved the way she looked in that dress. Thin spaghetti straps over her shoulders, V-cut neckline that was rather low and a purple ribbon around the waist and tied into a large bow between the back of her hips. The dress flowed around her thighs at the front and fanned out longer at the back towards her ankles like an adjoining cape.
"Want a coffee?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah sure." Nick nodded when Amanda pointed towards the small drinks corner beneath the stairs. They had been having a quiet evening so far, a coffee would keep Nick awake until he could finally go home.
He looked through a few more photos before he placed his phone on his desk near the pictures of the girls and he fished around in his top drawer for the newest case file he'd gotten.
He may as well catch up now while he had the time in case a new case walked through the door or they had to shoot off somewhere to talk to a suspect.
Nick nodded and smiled when Amanda set a cup of coffee down beside him and they fell into a peaceful silence as they tried to get up to date on a few notes and paperwork. They may as well do their reports now while they had the chance. Nick worked better at night. Maybe it was the incessant desperation to go home that pushed him to work faster and harder, he wasn't sure. But he preferred doing his notes in the evening rather than during the day. They saw victims and did interviews during the day, it didn't leave much time for notes.
The dull background noise of other officers mulling about the station and people wandering about and doing interviews moulded into static in Nick's ears. But he was brought out of his thoughts and he paused his notes when his phone started to ring.
A grin flashed across his lips when he looked over and noticed (Y/n)'s picture light up the screen.
He just happened to change her picture in his phone this morning to one of the dozen photos he had taken of her today. The one that showed up was the picture of (Y/n) leaning forward with a playful grin on her face as she blew a kiss to the camera.
He grabbed his phone and reclined in his chair, tilting his head to one side as he answered the call.
"Hi Carino, how's it going?"
Nick crossed one leg over the other and started to drum his free hand along the edge of the desk. He was prepared to hear how strange the wedding had been and all about the reception. He wanted to know if the girls were having a good time, if they had been up dancing, if his mother was enjoying herself or not. He could already guess that his sister would be drunk round about this time.
He knew his mother was only going to be civil and because (Y/n) and the girls were going. She wanted to see her granddaughters having a good time and dancing and make sure everything went okay. They all knew Nick's dad could be a handful at the best of times, family celebrations were no exception.
"Daddy?" The panic in Sophia's voice made Nick sit up straight and his shoes clattered against the polished floor as a shiver crawled down his spine.
Why was Sophia ringing him instead of (Y/n)? Why did she sound frightened? Were they still at the party? What was going on?
"Sweetheart, what's the matter? Is everything okay?" Panic flooded Nick's voice as he began to drum his free hand down on the table. None of he girls had ever rang him before, he only spoke to them on the phone when (Y/n) passed the phone over and he always talked to (Y/n) first. He usually spoke to the girls when he was working late and he said goodnight to them when they were going to bed.
"Daddy, help!"
Sophia sounded like she was crying, and that never sat well with Nick, he didn't like seeing or hearing any of his girls upset. It rattled Nick like someone was forcefully shaking him back and forth. His girl was frightened, she was crying.
What did she need help with? What was going on for her to ring Nick but not (Y/n)? Had (Y/n) passed the phone over to Sophia while she dealt with something? So many questions rattled through Nick's head and he didn't know who to ask first.
"Tell me what's happening, are you still at the party?" Nick was already fishing around in his desk drawer for his car keys. Whatever was happening, he knew he had to get down there to wherever they were and help sort out what was happening.
"T-there's a fight… people are shouting a-and nanny's crying. Please come get us!"
"Carino are you still at the party?" When Nick heard Sophia whimper and agree, he grabbed his badge from his desk and slotted it onto his waistband. "Okay I'm on my way now, alright? I won't be long carino I promise, just- just stay with mum until I get there."
Once he hung up, he stuffed his phone in his pocket, mumbling a gruff "Family emergency," to Amanda before he hurried out the squad room.
He didn't have time to sit around and explain, he had to get down there was fast as possible. He was glad (Y/n) and his mother had both told him where the reception was being held before now, even though they knew Nick probably wouldn't be able to turn up in time before the party ended.
It took all of Nick's self-control to be able to stop himself from driving recklessly. The roads seemed like they were stretching on into thousands of miles, keeping Nick from finding his family.
His hand dragged along his jaw and down his neck, his nails scratching into his skin as his other hand tapped and clenched around the steering wheel until his knuckles were almost popping through the skin. He couldn't wrap his head around what he might be walking into when he got there. Someone was fighting, and Nick would stake his pension on his father either being the fighter or orchestrating the arguments.
"No, no shit!"
His hand smashed down into the steering wheel when he pulled up on the side of the road near the venue.
Police were here. At least three squad cars were hastily parked around the building and there was an ambulance too. What on Earth had happened?
Nick stumbled out the car, slammed the door and jogged down the wide alley towards the crowd hanging around the entryway. Before he got to the doorway, he glanced to the right and veered to the side when he locked eyes on his mother. She was sat near a squad car, a blanket draped around her shoulders and a bundle in her arms.
"Ma, ma what's going on?"
When he got close enough, Nick crouched down in front of his mother, his hands instantly reaching out for his youngest girl who was safely swaddled up in her arms. The toddler was crying, her little eyes were bright red, her nose was running as screeches left her lips around her hand that was pressed against her mouth like she wanted to bite down on her thumb but was too distressed.
Nick reached his hands out for his youngest who continued to cry even when he kissed her temple and tried to shush her and calm her down. He could feel his mother tapping her knee up and down to try and settle the toddler but it wasn't working. She was distressed and the sirens and raised voices and panic was clearly making her frightened.
"What happened, where are the girls?" One of his girls was here, but where were the other three?
His mother looked a mix between angered and distressed, she wasn't giving in to the tears threatening to fall down her features, she was proudly holding them at bay. But when she looked down at Nick, she almost crumbled. Her arms tightened around Laura and she pressed her lips to the top of her granddaughter's head while she tried to take a deep breath.
"Your father, he- he started a fight, I don't know who with. But before you know it, tables are being flipped, everyone is arguing. (Y/n)'s still inside."
Nick nodded, pressing a lasting kiss to Laura's head and squeezing his mother's arm before he pushed up and moved to head inside. He needed to get to the girls.
He pushed his blazer out the way to show the badge on his hip when a uniformed officer tried to tell him to step back. "Hey, I'm a detective and my family's inside. Let me in."
He wasn't sure where to look once he was inside. His hand moved to run across his mouth and jaw while his other hand gripped his hip.
There were two paramedics in the corner of the large venue and by the dress on the woman they were trying to tend to, Nick would guess she was the bride. (Y/n) had been right, she didn't look much older than Nick's little sister. His father had married someone more than half his age. Why? Did his ego need that much of a boost?
In the other corner of the room, there was an older man and a guy around Nick's age who were still arguing, on the verge of throwing fists. If Nick was here on official duties he would be over there pushing them apart and telling them to calm down, but he wasn't here to help. He was here to find his family and make sure they were okay.
Something burned in his gut when he looked ahead towards the booths overlooking the dance floor.
"Daddy!" Sophia's desperate voice was shrill and showed how badly she had been crying.
His heart rocketed into his throat when he saw her. His eldest girl came barrelling over in his direction, arms open wide to reach out for him. Her hair was bouncing freely behind her shoulders, the flower headband Nick had seen her wearing earlier was nowhere to be seen and her hair was knotted and ruffled on top.
He bent his knees and reached his arms down, scooping Sophia up the moment she was close enough to him. Nick bundled her into his chest, pressing his lips to her temple as he began to glide his hand up and down her back. She was trembling like she was stood in the Arctic. Her cries shivered through Nick's neck and her arms were so tight around him that she was almost cutting off his air supply.
"Shh, okay Carino, I've got you." He murmured against her hair while he strode across the floor until he reached the booth where his other two girls were.
A fire burned within Nick's eyes as he approached his girls.
(Y/n) was sat on the edge of the booth, her heels rapidly tapping against the wooden floor like she had become a tapdancer. Her head was facing away from him but when she heard his approaching footsteps, she looked up. She didn't look the same as when Nick kissed her goodbye this morning.
Her hair was falling loose from the style she had done to match the girls this morning with a similar headband to they wore, which wasn't in her hair either. Mascara was running beneath her eyes and her teeth were biting down into her lower lip.
Her arms were bound around Evie who was curled up on her lap, her face smothered into (Y/n)'s dress and her arms around her waist.
(Y/n) could feel her eyes watering again when she looked up and saw Nick stood in front of her. She moved one shaky hand to try and swipe her hand along her temple, but all it did was smear the blood that had started to dry and cake into her hairline on her temple. It was clear Nick had already noted the blood on her temple, for his breathing pattern started to change and his nostrils flared in rage.
"What happened?" Both words were punctuated and it was clear Nick was trying to tone down his voice so he didn't frighten the girls.
The moment he was crouching in front of (Y/n), Evie spun around on her lap and practically flung herself into him. Nick had to brace himself on his heels so he didn't topple backwards with both girls pushing into his chest and grappling onto him.
His hands ran up and down their backs and he tried to ease them both down to their feet so they weren't leaning on him and pushing him back. Sophia eased down onto the floor, pressing up against (Y/n)'s leg but her arms stayed bound around Nick's arm as if to ensure that he wasn't about to let go of her or move away from her.
"Your dad hit her, so her dad hit him, t-then everyone else started." (Y/n) bowed her head that was pulsing like a boombox. But she lifted her head when she felt Nick's hand press beneath her chin to level their gazes.
"What about this?"
(Y/n) shivered when Nick's hand moved up to graze his fingertips along the cut to her temple. It didn't look too deep or extensive, but any blood on his wife's head wasn't acceptable.
She couldn't help but lean into the touch, nuzzling her cheek into Nick's palm when his hand cupped the side of her face again. Her hand gripped his wrist and her other hand started to run through Sophia's head when she felt their eldest shaking against her leg.
"The girls were on the dance floor, I- I had to get to them. I told your dad to stop shouting a-and get away from them… he pushed me." (Y/n) briefly moved her hand from Sophia's hair to indicate to her head before she pointed to the table.
Whatever started the fight, it happened downstairs in the bathrooms then escalated up into the function room up here. Nick's dad had been throwing punches and shouting at another man as more fighting broke out around the room. (Y/n) had left Laura with Nick's mum and went to get the girls who were petrified on the dancefloor.
She tried her best to tell Nick Senior to stop. She pushed him away, told him to stop fighting at his own reception and when he began shouting at her, (Y/n) told him to back off. She told him to get away from her daughters who were frightened.
The next thing she knew, a rough hand hit the centre of her back and she fell into one of the tables.
Getting outside was impossible when (Y/n)'s head was spinning and both girls refused to walk. They sat on the floor, clung to (Y/n)'s legs and cried for Nick. (Y/n) had been too dizzy and nauseous to call him so she gave her phone to Sophia. It seemed best to simply wait here for Nick or a paramedic, especially when the police began to flood inside and stop the rest of the fights.
"Come on, let's go get nana and go home." Nick reached down and scooped Evie up into his chest. He smothered his lips and nose in her hair to try in vain to calm himself down, but his system was raging.
He curved his arm around (Y/n)'s waist, leaning Evie into his chest with his left arm while he helped (Y/n) up. He could see she looked dizzy, her eyes went in and out of focus and she groaned, moving her hand to her temple to try and stop the raging drums inside her head.
She leaned into Nick's side and curled her right hand tightly around Sophia's hand, tugging their eldest into her side to keep her close.
Her legs felt like they were made of jelly, it was hard to force herself to move when she just wanted to sit down and go to sleep. She was relieved Laura was being looked after by her mother in law, juggling a petrified toddler in her arms when she could barely stand up wasn't the best idea.
(Y/n)'s stomach tightened when she saw Nick's dad up ahead. His hands were in cuffs behind his back and he was being read his rights.
She heard Nick murmur "Keep walking," to all of them but his arm tightened around her waist and he pressed in closer to her, trying to usher the girls in front of him to get them out the door quicker.
"No- hey, hey look that's my boy. That's my son, talk to him, he'll tell you this is a mistake." Nick Senior tried to step forward but he couldn't go far with his hands bound behind his back and a rough hand on his shoulder preventing him from walking away.
Nick could feel the hairs on the back of his neck sticking up on end when his father's voice hit his ears. It had been over a year since he'd last spoken to his father, he simply called him to say that Laura had been born. And Nick didn't want to hear his voice ever again after this. He wanted nothing to do with the brute he barely recognised anymore.
His arm carefully eased (Y/n) so she was in front of him but when she flopped her head onto his shoulder and stared up at him with those big deep eyes, he felt his heart fluttering. She was begging him not to talk to his dad, she knew it would only start a fight and the girls were here, they didn't want to be parted from Nick.
And (Y/n) knew if Nick was left alone with his dad, he would do something that could get him suspended. She wouldn't let that happen, not because of her or on her behalf.
"Nicky, hey Nicky come on, help me out here."
The way Nick spun on his heels made (Y/n)'s head sway and she quickly reached her free hand out to stabilise against him. She was still leaning into his chest, but he was turned to the left towards his father with eyes shooting daggers towards him and Evie curled up in his left arm.
"You hit your own wife, you've petrified my kids, and you've hurt my own wife. Look what you've done to her," Nick glanced his eyes down to (Y/n)'s temple that was caked in blood, something his father wouldn't even look at. "And you think I'd do something to help you?"
The way Nick Senior tilted his head to one side and looked like he was going to smile, to plead with his son, made Nick's skin crawl. His father truly thought he would help him and that was beyond deluded. He thought Nick would help after he had terrified his children, shouted and hurt his wife and had attacked his own wife, on his wedding day.
"Nicky-"
"No. I want nothing more to do with you. You never come near my family again."
Nick didn't bother looking back as he guided his family out. He didn't want anything to do with his father. He had been civil these last few years, he gave him small talk when necessary and told him when each of his children had been born. This was the final straw. He wasn't indulging his father any longer, he was cut off and he didn't want his father in his life or in the life of his family.
Never again.

5 times your daughter prefers Buck, 1 time she prefers you
1️⃣
It was a nice summer day, good for a picnic at the park. Buck had the day off and promised to spend some time with you both this weekend as he’d been so busy all week.
You packed a large blanket and a cooler of sandwiches, snacks and drinks for a few hours at the park. Buck had even brought some slices of cake he had made.
Evie helped you set up the blanket on a fluffy patch of grass while Buck carried all the other items.
“Do you want to play for a little bit then come and eat?” You asked, sitting down and kicking your shoes off.
“Yes! I’m not hungry yet.” She claps her hands.
“Alright, put on some sunscreen and you can go.” You beckon her forward. She groans, hating the feeling of the sticky lotion on her skin.
“Come on kid, sunscreen isn’t so bad.” Buck laughs, handing you a water from the cooler. “Make sure you stay close by, we’ve got to see you at all times.” Buck reminds her as you slather lotion on her face and arms.
“Do you want to go on the swings?” You ask, rubbing her arms. “I can come push you for a bit.”
“I want Buck to do it.” She demands, not unkindly.
“Hey! Why not me?” You pout.
“Buck has bigger arms and he’s stronger so he can push me higher and faster.”
“That’s probably true.” He shrugs.
“So mean you two.”
“Awe, don’t get jealous.” Buck teases, leaning down to peck your forehead. “Can’t help that I’m the favorite.” He shoots before picking Evie up and running off.
They’re both laughing as they run to the swings.
2️⃣
Buck had been lucky enough to get Halloween off this year. Most of the 118 decided to spend the night together and take the kids trick or treating. For most of the night Evie stayed by Jee and Mara’s side but when a particular house with some scary decorations came up, she refused to go up.
A soundtrack of eerie sounds, a fog machine, and all types of mannequins replicating movie monsters littered the yard.
“Babe, they’re just decorations. It’s okay to be scared but I promise nothing bad will happen.” You rub her back.
“Why don’t you walk between me and Chris?” Denny offers.
She shakes her head quickly and clings to your leg. “Do you want to skip this house?”
“I want to go with Buck.” She grabs his hand, leaving no room for argument.
Buck grins and holds her little hand in his. She stays behind his leg as she shuffles up to the door. Buck can see the bowl of candy on the floor in front of the monster on the rocking chair.
“Okay, keep your eyes closed and I’ll guide your hand to the bowl.” Buck kneels down and guides her hand into the bowl. Her other hand holds her bucket. She grabs a mini candy bar and throws it in her bucket. She finds Buck’s hand again as she pulls him in a jog back to you.
Buck lets out a dramatic breath, “That was so scary, he almost got us.”
“Did he really?” You raise a brow, laughing at him.
“No, Buck scared him away!” Evie looks through her candy bowl.
“With that face, I bet he did.” Eddie jokes causing Chris to laugh loudly and Buck to nudge his shoulder.
3️⃣
“Can we read a book tonight?” Evie slips off the couch and slips her feet into her slippers.
“Okay, go brush your teeth and pick out a book, I’ll be there in a minute okay?” You begin to fold the blanket as you stand.
Buck takes two corners and brings them together. You bring your side to meet his, receiving a cold, chocolatey kiss from him as he grabs the blanket and finishes folding by himself. He tosses the blanket onto the back of the couch.
You collect the bowls and spoons from the coffee table and began heading to the kitchen. Just as you’re washing the residue from your sundaes, you hear Evie’s feet pattering back into the living room.
“I got my book!”
“Alright babe, I’m almost done!” You shout back.
“Can Buck read to me instead?” You peek your head from around the kitchen wall.
“But I always read to you.” You don’t conceal your hurt this time.
“I know mommy but I like when Buck makes his funny faces and voices.” She hugs the book to her chest.
“Oh, okay. Go ahead then. I’ll be there later to kiss you goodnight.” You duck back into the kitchen to dry the dishes. You hear Buck telling Evie to go get settled and he would be there soon.
You then hear and feel him creeping into the kitchen behind you. His arms wrap around your waist and he rests his chin on your shoulder.
“Baby…”
“It’s fine, Buck.” You lean your head against his. “Go read, I’ll get our bed ready.”
“You know she loves you and only wants me because she doesn’t get to see me all the time.” He ignores your previous comment and kisses your neck.
“You’re stealing all my mom duties!” You pout. “It’s not funny! You wormed your way into her little heart and she’s forgotten all about me.”
Through giggles he says, “That’s not true. You’re literally her entire world she just likes having me around. And I mean I’m really funny when I read to her.”
“Funny looking, yes.” You agree.
“Hey! Don’t be a jerk. Would you rather her absolutely hate me?” He pokes your sides.
“I guess not.” You sigh, “you better get in there before she comes back out and asks why you’re taking so long.”
“I know, she gets bossy like her mom.” He sticks his tongue out, the tip pressing to your cheek.
“You’re disgusting and I’m not bossy. Now go.” You push his stomach and swat his butt with the hand towel.
4️⃣
You’re spreading the Nutella onto the piece of bread when Evie comes out of the bathroom. She is already changed into some comfy sweats as she climbs into the seat.
“What worksheets do you have today?” You slide over her toast and cut up strawberries and bananas. “I have to do a math sheet and some reading.”
“Okay, which one are we doing first?” You sit beside her, stealing a piece of her fruit.
“Can Buck help me with my math?”
“He’s at work babe.”
“Can we call him?”
“We can try but he’s usually really busy. Don’t be upset if he can’t talk okay?”
She nods.
You: hey, are you super busy right now? Evie would like your help with her math homework 🥹
Buck: give me 5 minutes and I’ll give you a call
Buck: also hi gorgeous, I miss you ❤️
You: miss you too, can’t wait to see your cute face even if it’s through a screen 🥰
Buck gives you a FaceTime call a few minutes later. You scoot closer to Evie and prop your phone up so they can see each other.
“Hey kid! How was school?”
“Buck!” She says through a mouthful. “I made a new friend today.”
“Oh yeah? Tell me about it.” He grunts as he slumps into a chair.
“Mommy says you’re busy.”
He chuckles and nods, “okay, what’s the first question?”
She reads off the question and you can see him leaning forward to grab a pen on the table then a napkin.
Buck watches as she holds up her fingers and counts. She reminds him to hold his fingers up too.
“You’re super smart, Buck.” She mentions as she finishes the last few questions.
“Takes practice.” He shrugs.
“Or getting struck by lightening.” You raise a brow.
“What do you mean mommy?”
“Nothing, she’s just making a joke.” Buck gives you a look. Buck had mentioned getting stuck under the fire engine once while giving you two a tour and Evie refused to go near the engine. It took Bobby carrying her and letting her wear his captain helmet for her to finally sit inside the truck.
You hear the chimes and bells signaling Buck has to go for a call. “Be safe, we love you!”
“I will, I’ll call you before bed okay? I love you.” You can see him rushing downstairs and grabbing his gear with one hand.
“Thank you, Buck!” Evie shouts before the call hangs up.
5️⃣
“How’s my girl?” Buck says through the screen.
“She’s sleeping now but still has a fever and tummy ache.” You run your fingers through her hair as she rests her head on your thigh.
“Did you tell her that I’m coming over later?”
“Of course.” You roll your eyes, “she’s refusing to eat the canned noodle soup.”
“I can’t help that she likes my cooking.” He laughs.
“You got everything you know from Bobby.” You bite.
“Yeah whatever, she still likes my cooking better no matter where I learned it from.” You can see him pulling items from the shelves as he swerves through the grocery store.
“You don’t make me soup when I’m sick.”
“Oh come on, that’s not fair. You’ve been sick once since we’ve been together and you wouldn’t let me come see you.” He shakes his head.
“Is that Buck?” You hear from below you.
“Yeah baby, he’s at the store.” You feel her forehead.
“Evie!” Buck cheers through the phone. “I’m coming over to make my magic soup.”
“Can you hurry?” She whispers. “My tummy hurts.”
“I’ll be there soon, try to sleep some more okay?”
She nods and rests her head back down.
By the time she wakes up again, Buck is carrying her to the table.
“Buck? When did you get here?”
“A few hours ago, can you sit?” He kisses her forehead before setting her in the chair.
“Why didn’t you wake me up?” She rubs her droopy eyes.
“Because you looked so cute sleeping.” You smile, setting her bowl in front of her. “It’s hot so don’t eat it just yet.”
“Do we have crackers?”
“Yup, made sure to get you the little ones you like.” Buck sits beside her, feeling her forehead.
“Can I have some water?” She shivers, scooting closer to Buck for warmth.
“Of course babe, how are you feeling?” You rush to the cabinet to pull out a cup.
“My tummy still hurts.” She curls in on herself. “And I’m hungry.”
Buck gives her a few crackers and spoons some soup onto the plastic Bluey spoon. He blows twice before bringing it to her lips.
“Good?” He searches her face.
“I feel better already.” She smiles, brushing her hair out of her face.
“Told you the magic soup always works.” He gives you a wink.
*️⃣1️⃣
“Where’s mommy?” Evie asks, skipping into the bedroom. Buck sits on the bed scrolling through the tv.
“She’s in the shower. What’s up?” Buck pats the bed. She walks over to the side he’s on and lifts her arms. He leans over to pick her up.
“Just want a hug.” He sits her in the middle of the bed, pulling the blanket over her lap.
“I’ll give you a hug.” He opens his arm.
“I want a hug from mommy. She has the best cuddles.”
“I can attest to that.” Buck smiles over at her. “I’m sure she’ll be out soon. Want to watch something with me?”
“Okay.” She nods and lays back against the pillows. Buck watches as she looks to the bathroom door several times.
“You okay?” He pats her knee.
“Yeah, mommy is taking a long time.”
“She’s just having some mommy time before bed.” He assures. “You sure you don’t want to snuggle with me? I can keep you warm until mom gets out.”
“No, that’s okay.” She sighs before resting her head back onto the pillow.
She lifts her head a few minutes later when the bathroom door opens and steam drifts out.
“Hey girly, what are you doing up?” You smile, adjusting your towel around your body.
“I want cuddles.” She pleads.
“Is that so?” You smirk at Buck as you trail over to the bed. “Guess, I’m good for something.”
Evie bolts up onto her knees and wraps her arms around your shoulders, climbing into your lap.
“I’m still a little wet on my shoulders, you might get cold.” You wrap your arms around her waist.
“Don’t care, just want a hug.” You smiles into your neck.
“Okay, whatever you say.” You kiss her cheek. “Feeling lonely over there Mr. Buckley?”
“Yes.” He immediately says.
“Come join our mommy cuddles!” Evie exclaims. Buck doesn’t hesitate to scooch up against your back and hug the both of you.
“Best cuddles ever.” He whispers into your ear.

My Superhero
~ Cassian x SingleMum!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Beautiful Girls Series Masterlist
Based on this request
Summary: Your daughter calls Cassian dad for the first time.
Warnings: Fluffy goodness.
"Evie, baby? Isn't there something you wanted to ask Cassian?"
You look to your daughter, her round cheeks burning red at your question as she moved to hide behind you. Head shaking shyly as she tugged on your dress before quietly asking, "Can't you do it mama?"
Sighing, you made to give in, unable to argue with her begging stare. Yet Cassian spoke first, moving down onto one knee before he held his arms out to the timid girl, an encouraging smile crossing his lips as he softly prompted, "Come here Eves, I would love to here what you have to say."
Evelyn's wide-eyed gaze turned from Cassian back to you, your daughter seeking input as to what she should do next. "Go on baby," you coaxed, hand coming to meet the small of her back to gently push her in the male's direction, "you've got this."
You watched on with a smile as Evelyn nervously shuffled towards Cassian, her small hands coming to to meet the male's outstretched palms before he carefully pulled her into a loving cuddle. "That's more like it," the general grinned, lightly squeezing Evelyn's shoulders in comfort before he continued to speak, "now what does my darling baby girl have to ask me?"
Cheeks dusting pink at his words, Evelyn avoided Cassian's adoring gaze as she bashfully mumbled, "Will . . . will you come with me to school?" Cassian permissed his smile to remain as he briefly glanced at you for context, hand absentmindedly rubbing circles into Evelyn's back as he patiently waited for an answer.
"For career day" you clarified, eyes bright as you watched the scene before you, "Evie has to do a talk and she wants us both there to watch." Cassian's cheery eyes turned back to Evelyn, an exaggerated gasp leaving his lips before he earnestly replied, "I would love to come and watch you talk at school Eves."
Your daughter continued to blush, a timid smile working its way onto her lips before she quietly uttered a small thank you to the male. His hazel eyes watering, Cassian moved to place a gentle kiss onto Evelyn's forehead before he countered, "Thank you, little dove."
You beamed at the pair before you, heart full of love as you watched Cassian affectionately dote on your daughter. The general's loving gaze meeting your own as he beckoned you towards him with a motion of his head. Softly nudging Evelyn closer into his arms in order to free up some space as he whispered, "Budge over Eves, we've got to make some room for mama."
"Stop fidgeting Cassie, you look amazing" you reassured, moving your comforting hands to lace with his own clammy ones as you pulled them down from the collar he was continuously straightening. "You think so?" he anxiously asked, looking down in uncertainty at the shirt he had opted to wear for the occasion, "Maybe I should have worn my tunic instead."
You chuckled warmly, pulling the male to a stop before the entrance of the school. Tenderly giving his hands a loving squeeze before you spoke, "It's a school Cassian, not a palace." The general nodded along to your words, looking down at you with appreciation as you continued to ease his worries, "Evie doesn't care what you're wearing, she just cares that you're here."
"You're right, as always" Cassian gratefully smiled, lifting a gentle hand to cup your cheek as he placed a swift kiss upon your lips before pulling away to rest his forehead against your own. Hazel eyes flooding with determination as he confidently smirked, "All right then, let's go see our girl."
"Ah you must be Evelyn's . . ." the teacher's voice trailed off as she watched Cassian walk into the room behind you, eyes blowing wide as she took in the foreboding figure of the Lord of Bloodshed, "parents?"
"Oh uh, no I'm-"
"Yes we are" you finished before Cassian could get the words out, your thumb moving to caress the back of this hand as his surprised gaze fell to your nonchalant form. A low growl of contentment rumbled in his chest at the casualness of your answer, a possessive arm coming to wrap around your waist in order to pull you closer to his side.
"Uh wow, well. . ." still flustered by the general's appearance in her classroom, the teacher struggled to get her words out, "please d-do sit down!"
Thanking the female, Cassian made to eagerly lead you towards the front of the classroom. Yet your gentle tug pulled him to a stop, a sad smile crossing your lips as you explained, "Cassie, I think your wings may be a little too big to sit at the front."
"But Evie-"
"Will still see us, even if we are a little further back" you promised, Cassian's wings hanging lowly as you pulled him to sit at the back of the room. The astonished stares of the other parents following the two of you as you passed.
Once seated, Cassian craned his neck over the crowd of waiting parents. Eyes scanning the children stood at the front of the room as he searched for the one face he so longed to see, a beaming smile gracing his lips as they finally landed on Evelyn. Hand raised as he wildly waved at the little girl who blushed at his overenthusiastic greeting.
The pair of you sat in baited anticipation as you listened to the other children speak, your hand coming to rest on Cassian's thigh in a useless attempt of trying to stop his impatient shifting as you waited for Evelyn's turn to arrive.
When the time finally came for your daughter to timidly shuffle her way onto center stage, your encouraging thumbs up were overshadowed by Cassian's excitable shout of support.
Evelyn flashed the pair of you a grateful smile before she shakily exhaled, her hands nervously locking together as her worried eyes flickered to you for assurance. Softly nodding to her in comfort you mouthed, "You can do this baby."
Evelyn's once tense shoulders relaxed at your words, the young girl inhaling deeply before she finally began to speak, "The person I love most has the bestest job in the world" Cassian nudged as your shoulder as he sent you a cheery wink, brows wiggling comically as he reacted to Evelyn's mention of you.
Yet his smile didn't last for long, grin dropping at the next words your daughter spoke, "He is a superhero! He's big and strong and . . . and he always makes sure to keep our High Lord and High Lady safe."
A shaky gasp fell from Cassian's lips at the realization that Evelyn wasn't talking about you. His trembling hand darting to grasp onto yours for support as Evelyn continued to speak about him. Your little girl looking straight at the teary-eyed Illyrian as she did so, "But even though he gets very busy saving the world, my favourite thing is how he always makes time to play with me when he comes home, even when he is very tired.”
A soft sob broke from Cassian's mouth at her words, the male sniffling as he made no attempt to hide the downpour of emotion that had washed over him. His watery eyes shining with love as they never strayed from Evelyn for even a moment.
"He fights all the monsters under my bed and in my wardrobe and he always makes sure to kiss all of my boo boo's. But most i- imporan- importantly he always shows me and my mummy how much he loves us. So even though he is the bestest superhero in the world, I love it even more when he is just my dad."
When she finished, Cassian was too stunned to react. The sound of his cries being drowned out by that of the other parent's applause. With all the speeches now finished, Evelyn eagerly ran over to greet the two of you, only for her smile to drop upon seeing Cassian in tears.
“What’s wrong baby?” You asked in concern, a comforting hand coming to rest on her shoulder, “It’s alright, you did so well Eves.”
Yet Evelyn wasn’t looking at you, her disappointed eyes stayed locked on Cassian.
"You . . . you didn't like it?" Evelyn asked weakly, silver tears beginning to line her eyes at the sight of the weeping Illyrian.
"Like it?" Cassian answered, moving to sweep Evelyn into his arms, "No baby girl, I loved it." The general proceeded to cry further as Evelyn stretched out her little hands to wipe away his falling tears, her face considerably more cheerful now she knew she hadn't upset the male.
"Mummy helped me write it . . . I just wanted everybody in school to know that my daddy is a superhero!"
Cassian's shoulders shook as he cried, his hand moving to pull Evelyn's head to his chest as he embraced the smiling girl. Lips pressing against her head in a gentle kiss as he replied, "Being a superhero is fun, little dove. But being your daddy is my favourite job."

Morning Mischief
Evie Grimhilde x Reader
Summary: Evie wakes up her sleepy girlfriend
Word count: 355
Warnings: None, just silliness and fluff
A/N: I had a vision while on lunch break.
-~+~-
Evie leaned over the sleeping form of her girlfriend, gently prodding your shoulder.
"Y/n, my love. It's time to get up." She emphasized her sentence with a chaste kiss, to which you reacted with fluttering eyelids and a sharp inhale as the waking world beckoned you.
"Mrhm. Your true love's kiss has awakened me from my centuries long slumber..." You grumbled, your voice scratchy with sleep. You stretched, making an adorable squeaking sound and exhaled softly, before muttering a teasing "....five more minutes."
Evie shook her head and giggled and you rolled over, burying your face into the covers.
"Nuh-uh, sleeping beauty. You can't escape that easily." She yanked your covers down and viciously attacked your exposed ribs with tickles.
"NOOO!!" You howled, immediately awake as you frantically tried to stave off your girlfriend. "Foul play!!! Betrayal!!!!"
You fake cried into your pillow as Evie relented and sat back, satisfied with her work and assured that you would not be falling back asleep any time soon.
"You brought this upon yourself." She said unsympathetically, getting up and going to back to getting ready. You sighed and dragged yourself up into a sitting position, your lips forming a pout at her turned back.
"Traitor. I will never forgive this." You promised, heaving yourself out of bed and shuffling to change. Evie simply smiled to herself and shook her head at your dramatics.
"I'm sure you will when you remember that we have somewhere to be in half an hour." She replied, touching up her lipstick.
"Somewhere to- oh shoot." Your eyes widened and your shuffle turned into a dash as you lept into the closet to find something to wear, slightly panicked as you remembered the important event you had today. You rushed out with the clothes over one arm and bent down to kiss Evie's cheek. "I'm very sorry, you are the loveliest and most kind and my favoritest girlfriend in the universe and I will make up my heinous accusations to you later."
Evie chuckled as you darted away into the bathroom to get ready, eyes bright with affection.
"I'm counting on it."

Your hand pressed forward against the tile, nails digging into the grout, back arching further with each roll and snap of Eddie's hips into you. The water from the shower head spilled down Eddie's broad shoulders, trickling down his arms and splattering over your back.
A small huff of laughter slipped out with a grunting moan. You ignored it at first, rocking your own hips back carefully to meet Eddie's thrusts, a wet smack echoing off the shower walls when his skin slapped against yours.
Eddie's moan floated out with another giggle. You could feel him getting distracted by something, strokes far less rhythmic and slowing. You turned, looking over your shoulder at him. "What?"
Eddie's lips pulled in a tight grin. "Nothin', sorry."
"No, what's funny?" You hummed straightening up, feet shuffling to plant firmer on the ground.
Eddie ran a hand through his wet curls, pushing them back. "It's nothing. It's just, like, where the water's coming down, it's going right where I touch you, so every time I fuck you it's splashing back up." He grinned. "It's like a little fountain every time I fuck you. Like a little water gun. It pops up and spurts everywhere."
You lifted a brow, your own giggle leaving your lips. "What?"
"Look," Eddie's hands found your hips again, one on your tummy to steady you while you watched. He pulled out, pushing back into you with a stroke that had your eyes rolling back, moaning in pleasure.
"You missed it!" Eddie clicked his tongue, giggling at you playfully.
"Sorry, sorry." You shuddered around a breathy laugh. "Don't go as hard. I'll watch."
Eddie nodded, pulling out but pushing into you less deep, enough that you could see what had amused him. A squelch and pop of water jumping when your skin met.
You couldn't help the laugh that left you. It was silly? So fucking silly. "See?" Eddie laughed. "I got distracted. I was trying to see how high I could get it."
You shook your head at him. "You're an idiot." You laughed at him. "Distracted by water?"
"It was cool!" Eddie laughed. "You gotta admit it was cool. Admit it was cool."
You rolled your eyes, standing fully, turning towards him. "It was kinda funny." You shook your head. "But let's do it this way. That way you don't get distracted." You give him a playful glare, hand snaking between the two of you, slowly pumping his length.
Eddie's head tipped back, eyes closed letting the stream from the shower fall over him, your hand pleasuring him, bringing him back to you.

Tumblr media
It doesn’t take long to lose her in the shuffle. By the time I have dropped my coat into the cloakroom, she has disappeared. People are picking at slices of her birthday cake. A paper plate offered to me. No thanks.
Tumblr media
She’s linked arms with someone way down the bar, laughing, her hair all glossy under the coloured lights. I weave through the crowd to get to her, to… I don’t know. Interrupt her conversation? Yes. Why not introduce myself to her friends? I’m more than capable. Always have been a charming kind of person. Very easy to like. I duck to the side to avoid a group passing, and realise I have lost her. She’s slipped off, folded into the crowd, gone, not even a sliver visible among the elbows and the arms.
Tumblr media
No point in looking lost. I order a pint. Bartender recognises me from school, and I pretend to remember her, too. Bizarre feeling to be known again. To be back in a city full of people who remember what I did when I was younger and stupider, rather than the perfectly aloof persona I’ve carefully built abroad. Nobody in Berlin knows I brought fireworks to school, but in Dublin, it’s a story people no doubt still tell when my name comes up in conversation. Oh yes, remember him, and do you think he’s the one who set the toilet stall on fire? To know I am defined by decisions I made when my brain was haywire with hormones makes my skin feel tight over my bones.
Tumblr media
Chat to a group of lads by the bar. Arty types, inner city types. Find myself relaxing my accent to fit in, conscious of it. You sound so American. The worst. The idea someone might think I’m putting it on to sound cool or something. Round out those U sounds, Jude. Yes, you’re still one of them. It’s easy to like these guys, easy to let them like me. A slap on the back, another pint, the kind of night where everyone’s on the same page. Still, my mind pulls me to Evie, eyes darting every time a brown-haired girl strolls into my eyeline. Always looking for her. I scan the crowd as I move through it, angling toward the booths.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I join Claire and Shane at the tables, slide onto the sticky pleather seat, leave my pint down among the empty glasses. Someone has left a pile of coats and gift bags on one end of the booth, and as I shift to make room, my knee knocks against it, sending one of the bags slumping to its side. A rattling sound, as something falls out and onto the floor. Bending to retrieve it, a square box, glinting plastic cover.
Jumbo Pack - 144 Condoms
Tumblr media
“Jesus.” I sit up, turning it over in my hands. Jumbo. Not a joke-sized novelty thing either, something with intent. Checking, for some reason, the expiration date. Oh fantastic, yes, a good long shelf life. Something like this will last a while. That’s what you want. Or don’t want. I don’t know.
Tumblr media
Claire splutters with laughter, half-choking on her drink. “Where’d you pull that out of?”
I hold it up. “It just fell out of a bag.” Lift the bag now, silver stars all over it. The tag dangling from the handles reads Our Sexy Sex Bomb. Hearts doodled around it. A joke gift, no doubt, but still, can’t deny the ambition implied. 144 condoms. “Presume it’s for Evie.”
“Oh yeah, Jesus. I was only telling you her friends were weird, wasn’t I? Like, what kind of gift is that?”
“Yeah, it’s a bit–”
“I know. It’s literally so stupid. It’s not even that funny, just odd.”
Tumblr media
“Here, just put it away.” Shane’s shoulders are tense, mouth a hard line. “Hide it under those coats, there. Nobody needs to be seeing that.” He glances around to see if anyone is looking. Red under his collar.
“Look, good for her,” I say, and neither of them laughs.
Tumblr media
Irritated by myself, by the slow creep of my own discomfort, I take a long drink from my pint. So what if she’s doing that? Fucking people, being fucked, whatever. As if she’s not allowed to, or something. I scold my inner voice. I’ve been holding onto an image instead of accepting the mystery of who she really is.
It’s a glimpse of my worst nightmare: that I am one of those sweaty guys, so powerless and alienated by male social hierarchies that he must exert control over women as a way to reclaim his dignity. Their clothes, who they speak to, their bodies. I take another drink and think of Astrid, how it’s fine for me to move on, to change, to explore, but Evie…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s probably doing it. Look at her there, a flash of her in the crowd. Why wouldn’t she be? What right-minded man would turn her away from him if she wanted him? For a second I think she’s spotted me. Raise the pint in salute, but her eyes drift past in pursuit of somebody else. I drain it and get up to order another.

Hi :)) idk if you’re accepting requests but I was just thinking…
I remembered that Hook canonically went to Eaton College, which is a pretty prestigious university, so he must actually be really fricking smart. I wish I knew what he studied tho :/ So anyway, I was hoping maybe you would write something (preferably x reader?) where he surprises everyone with his intelligence? I feel like the other VKs probably don’t actually know just how clever he is and would be taken off guard to realise it. I don’t have any specific situations in mind but I’d really like to see maybe reader acknowledge and recognise him as more than the pretty rebel he lets everyone see him as
I’m always accepting requests, it’s so fun getting to make things for someone, and it’s great writing practice. I’m almost done with all the ones I have, keep them coming 🩵
I love secretly smart characters, making a right old Evie out of him right now. I love him. (I had so many tabs open to get this right, so so many. I did Chemistry for the gag but it wasn’t worth the gag.)
Studious
James Hook x VK!Reader
Pronouns used: they/them/theirs
Summary: If it means that much to his partner, Hook can be a bit of a tutor
Warnings: pet names, swearing, sexual references, high school chemistry (Like the actual class that made me cry when I was a student), does sword fighting need a trigger warning?, Or fake moaning? Hook's partner making a joke about him having a thing for Morgie, Uliana almost makes a potion explode
Word Count: 3.5K
Tumblr media
      Nervous fingers are shuffling through flashcards as the pirate walks into their dorm. His smirk being accompanied by raised eyebrows as he leans on the door frame, taking in the sight. They have their textbook and notebook spread out across the floor, sitting cross legged between the two. Pens and highlighters strewn around them and an empty notebook and study guide directly before them. (Y/n) is staring at them with a pout and wide eyes, huffing as they drop the flash cards beside them. “This is fucking ridiculous,” the words are barely a mumble, popping the knuckles on stressed hands as they say it. They stretch their shoulders back as well before reaching back down for the collection of brightly colored cardstock.
   “Since when do you have to study, wizkid?” The words make their head shoot up, staring at the boy they hadn’t noticed had entered. “Since Chemistry is kicking my ass, I have to pass this exam or I’m going to fail the class again. If I fail it twice this year I won’t have enough credits to be a senior next year,” their voice is far too fast, rambling on as they reach back down for their study guide. “I thought you exempted all your exams,” he tilts his head as he speaks, watching them shuffle their cards for the third time since he made his way into the room. “Yeah, well I bombed my last two tests -like fifty-two and thirty-five level bombed- and all the As and Bs I have on experiments can’t save me there. So either I make an A on this exam or I fail the entire class for the second time. I am so royally screwed.” With a sigh, Hook makes his way over to the villain on the floor, falling to sit before them with crossed legs and an outstretched hand. “Give me the cards.” “No, I seriously need to study, James. I cannot go do whatever Uli sent you in here  for right now.”
   He scoffs, leaning forward to snatch the cards from their loose grip on them. “I can come see my partner just because I want to be around them, you know. I don’t always have to be doing something for the group. I do enjoy your company, wouldn't be your boyfriend otherwise.” Dark eyes widen mockingly with raised brows as he finished the sentiment, head shaking in a near-bratty manner. He flips through the cards, letting his eyes ghost over the words and formulas. This was basic chemistry. He did this his sophomore year, he could probably do it in his sleep. “Even then, James, I really need to study. I cannot fail this again.” He lets his eyes cut up to them, a smirk still present across his pouty lips. “Oh of course you do, I can’t have my partner as a super senior. That’s just embarrassing for us both,” he drops the cards into his lap, reaching over for their study guide. He flips it over a time or two, barely reading it.
  “Okay,” they draw out the word, reaching out to snatch their cards back from where they rest on his thigh, “Then let me study. Really, Honey, can’t you go harass Morgie or Bridget or something?” “Why harass them when my favorite person is right here struggling with the easiest subject ever? That’s much better material.”  (Y/n) scoffs, looking up at him from their flashcards. James is too busy looking over the back of their study guide to give them so much as a second glance, but his face holds this cocky expression. As if the boy is challenging them to snap back. “The easiest subject ever? As if. I bet you got a B in there at absolute best. I need more than a B on this to pass.” “I actually finished Chemistry One with a perfect score and finished AP Chemistry Two with a ninety-nine percent, since you’re asking.” He drops the papers into his lap, raising an eyebrow with the same challenging look in his eye as when he’s sparring against them. His hand shoots out for the cards again, flipping it from the one that they had been looking at and giving it a sparing glance. Eyes cutting back up to his partner just as quickly as they cut down, “Now, what is the definition of an intensive property?”
    So they’re really doing this? (Y/n) guesses they shouldn’t argue, they do need the help. And if James is anywhere near as good as he says, this might be their best bet. “An intensive property is,” they let their eyes dart around the room, as if the decor on their walls would hold the answer. “Come on now, Love. Don’t draw it out. What’s an intensive property?” They bite their lip, looking down to their empty lap, “An intensive property is a property which does not rely on the amount of matter present.” A golden hook comes into their line of sight, tucking under their chin to lift their head up. When they look at Hook, he’s inches away from them, “Okay, and what are examples of an intensive property?” The hook beneath their chin moves, the sharp edge barely hovering below their skin. No looking away this time, that was a silent command for their eyes on him. “Boiling and melting points, density, and,” they snap their fingers, dragging out the one syllable word as they think. “And? Come on now, you know this.” “And,” they lock eyes with him, by god those brown eyes were captivating. It was like they were electric, sparking with some sense of excitement and pride that they couldn’t understand. Electric, that’s something right? Electricity isn’t a property of something though, but it seemed right. Why does it seem right? What did electricity have to do with intensive properties? “Conductivity,” they subconsciously cross the fingers on their right hand, staring into their boyfriend’s eyes with a longing to be correct. He nods, pulling them forward slightly. James kisses them with a feather light touch, smiling against their lips as they attempt to draw him closer. “See, I knew you knew it.”
   They don’t get to respond before he’s drawing back, completely withdrawing his touch as he flips to the next card, dropping “intensive properties” to his lap. “What’s an atomic number?”  “What? No, what was that? You barely kissed me,” they’re pouting, reaching out for a jaw that’s pulling away from them. “What’s an atomic number?” He raises his eyebrows as he speaks, pulling further away as they get on their knees to chase his fleeting lips, “If you want to kiss me you have to answer the question.” “The number of neutrons in an atom's nucleus. Now kiss me again,” they’re fully perched on their knees now, leaning over him as he leans back to get away. James makes a loud noise similar to the sound of a buzzer going off, dropping the card in his hand and using them to cover his mouth. “What is an isotope?” (Y/n) falls back with a huff, completely discouraged as they stare with gaped lips, “What? Where’s my kiss?”
     He pulls the cards down to smirk over the neon green paper, “I don’t reward wrong answers.” “I wasn’t wrong!” “You were, it’s not the neutrons in the nucleus but what?” A frown crosses the villain’s lips, shoulders slumping as they realize what they’d done. “Protons.” He nods, humming as he raises his brows, “Okay, new question, what’s an isotope?” “You’re awful, this is awful.”  “What’s an isotope?” They rise back up on their knees with a smirk, “What about, one kiss when I correct myself, two kisses when I’m right the first time?” He shakes his head, rolling his eyes as he does, “How about you tell me what an isotope is?” “Oh come on,” they’re whining, a hand wrapping around his hook. “Come on and answer the question.” His brows are raised, watching them pout. With wide eyes and batted lashes they let a hand trail up from metal to leather, slowly making its way up to his shoulder. “Captain, won’t you please give me a kiss? I want one so bad. I need your lips.” In any other circumstance that would work, it always worked. But James was already glowing as he looked over notecards, shaking his head with his smirk far more of a smile than normal. “That’s not going to work this time, Love. Now answer the question.” This might just be his new torture method, and by god is it working. (Y/n) was going to go crazy if they didn’t get what they wanted soon.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
   As a pirate, Hook was no stranger to drawing out torture, but he couldn’t stand to sit still for long. His love of chemistry and watching the gorgeous villain in front of him squirm could only keep him bound to one place for so long until he felt as if he might be going stir crazy. Which is how they ended up in a clearing in the woods, standing in a wide stance with swords balanced in their hands. Iron making a sharp “X” between them as they press against one another.  The ravenous look in (Y/n)’s eyes surely matched the crazed look in his, smirks present on either villain’s lips. They made one hell of a sparring partner, he’d learned that the day they met. Never took much to get the two of them alone like this either, the boy longed for the other villain’s sportsmanship. A worthy opponent was hard to come by outside of Neverland, and his lover looked so good while sword fighting that he struggled to focus. Now though, as he spits out questions they struggle to follow, it seems like they knew how he normally felt.
    They might have quick feet and strong arms, but their pretty mind is making them lag behind. Each time their swords would cross, he’d spurt out a new question, holding them hostage until they could find an answer he saw as fitting. Each wrong answer was met with a strike to their left, correct answers with a strike to their right. They’d start a new battle, clashing metal and devious laughter until one of them could find the other pinned once again. It was the most fun he’d had in years, that annoyed little pout on their face with each new question seemed to only make the game all the more fun. “What’s the atomic number of gold?” “Hook,” despite their tense body language, the name comes out on a whine, pout growing more than the boy thought was possible. “It is gold, yes, now what would its atomic number be?” He’s chuckling to himself and he awaits their response. Their eyes flicker around him, lip between their teeth. “Seventy-nine.” He jumps back from them, sword striking out at their right side. The motion is caught by their own sword while (Y/n) lets out a giggle.
   “I got it right!” They use their sword to force the tip of his away, turning their body to the left as they strike out above his left shoulder. “That you did, Love,” he swings to the right with a smile, bringing his sword up to push against theirs. He twists his body, gaining the upper hand as he pushes against them. (Y/n) is cringing, realizing how close they were to being cornered by him again. How could they let themself get so distracted? He’s pushing them back, and though they push forward, their sword slides down again, both villains ending up eye to eye with a new iron cross section between them. “You made that too easy,” James smirks, looking them up and down. “I didn’t, you just, that question threw me off. I don’t even know how I knew the answer.” He shakes his head, “You can’t let yourself get thrown off in a sword fight love. Your other opponents might not be as forgiving as me.” He leans over the swords for a moment, pecking their lips before he squares his shoulders back.
   Hook’s resistance was always strong and unforgiving in a fight, even when he allowed himself a moment of calm in the storm he created. The boy pushes harder on their swords, smirking at his lover as he raises an eyebrow. “What’s a homogeneous mixture?” There’s this flicker of something in his partner’s eyes. A giggle escaping their lips as they smile at him, head tilting to the side. “Isn’t that what you and Morgie are?” He pushes rougher against them, feeling the way their laughter shakes the sword in their iron grip. “Very funny, Darling. Now answer the question, unless you want to walk the plank,” he’s stepping closer, their swords sliding ever so slightly straighter against each other. “You wouldn’t dare, you love me too much.” He hums, shaking his head, “Positive? According to you, I love Morgie, so which is it?”
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
     “You two are late,” she doesn’t look up from her cauldron as she speaks, Uliana automatically knows who’s wandering in by their footsteps. The sounds are perfectly in sync, heavy pairs of boots falling in time as if they moved as one. When the two become visible in the hideout, their faces are red with a sweat sheen across their foreheads. Hook’s arm adoringly around (Y/n)’s waist as they lean against him,  the clothing of both teens ruffled from the movements they’d made while jousting. It’s cozy, needy, and the couple’s appearance quickly attracts the attention of Morgie and Hades. Both boys look to their friends with a smirk, cutting each other a sparing glance before turning back. “What have you two been up to?” Hades gives them a once over taking in how Hook’s shirt had come untucked and the wrinkles in the hem of (Y/n)’s top. “Been helping (Y/n) study for chemistry,” Hook shrugs, falling into a chair and pulling his partner down into his lap. Warm arms encapsulate the villain as they lean into his touch, smiling as his head settles on their left shoulder. A kiss being pressed to the shell of their ear earning the boy a hum.
     The sound of Hades laughing fills the room, his eyes rolling in their sockets, “Yeah, I’m sure you have been.” Hook can tell where this is going from a mile away, especially with the gorgeous look of exhaustion taking over his lover’s face. Relaxed muscles that are hidden behind heat blushed flesh. Sweat shines on their forehead and neck while their eyelids hang lower than normal. (Y/n) always looked tired and blissed out after a good duel, smiling lazily as they cling to him. He knew how they looked, and with the genuine topic at hand it definitely seemed like Hook had done nothing more than making an innuendo. If he was honest, part of him hoped that the boys thought it was an innuendo, tutoring just wasn’t his style. “We were, Hades. Excellent study session, actually. Of course, (Y/n) has always been the smartest person I know.” The god raises his brows, smirk growing as he turns to Morgie, “You don’t say. Morgie, I bet you overhear a lot of those study sessions, don’t you?” The sorcerer smirks right back, an evil glint resting in his eyes, “Oh yeah, I think the last one was English though. Studying a poem maybe?”
    (Y/n) feels Hook’s hand sneak onto their thigh as the boys talk, an amused smirk resting on their face. He lets his fingers spread, taking up as much of the plush part of their leg as he can. “Really, Morgie? Why would you say that?” Hades is letting his eyes flicker between the overly cozy couple and Morgie as he speaks, watching for tell-tale signs that the villains were flustered. “Oh you know, I just recognized the opening line,” his finger taps his chin as he speaks, “What was it again? Oh yeah!” Morgie’s face falls to mimic a blissed out expression, hand gripping on his chest as he speaks on a nearly pornographic moan, “Oh Captain, my Captain!” Hades and Morgie fall into each other’s sides laughing, the noise they’re making earning an annoyed scoff from a preoccupied Uliana. “If you two idiots could make yourself useful, that would be great,” she’s turning, grabbing a vial of rattlesnake venom from a shelf.
   “Study session isn’t over, Love,” Hook’s voice is soft, plush lips moving against the shell of their ear as he whispers. His words lead to them whining, head falling back against his shoulder as they pout. “My head is too full, Baby. I’ve had enough.” He chuckles, kissing their cheek as his finger moves across their thigh in an “S” shape. “Tell me the element,” he whispers, repeating the shape across their leg. “Sulfur,” they mumble, eyes focusing in on the way Uliana moves. He kisses their shoulder, “Good job.” He draws a circle next. “Oxygen.” Another kiss falls on their shoulder. It becomes a pattern. He’d draw the symbol of an element on their thigh, they would tell him the name of it. The shape repeats until they get it right, ones they got correct on the first try lead to them being rewarded with a kiss to the shoulder or neck.
    Somewhere, though it’s partially tuned out by the pirate and his lover, Morgie is explaining what Uliana is up to.  Something about making a potion to sneak into Charming’s food, apparently he spilt Uliana’s drink all over her when she was leaving a coffee shop. Some sort of spell to make the boy clumsy enough to spill everything on himself for twenty four hours. (Y/n) can’t focus on that, not with the way that James is tracing a “Y” on their inner thigh. What element’s symbol was “Y”? “You’re making that up,” they mumble and he shakes his head against them in response. “Think harder.” “It’s too hard to think when you’re doing it there,” the words come out in a hiss, eyes cutting over their shoulder to see the smirk on his face. “Try harder then, Love.”
   Maleficent makes her way past them, holding a little vial of something as she does. “It took forever to find this shit in the AP Chem room, just so you know. Better be worth the trouble.” Uliana scoffs, reaching an arm out for it, “It will be.” Hades and Morgie stand up to follow the dark pixie, the god cutting James and (Y/n) a look. His eyes zero in on Hook’s hand, laughing softly, “God, Hook, you are just insatiable.” The pirate winks at him over (Y/n)’s shoulder, kissing their shoulder as they softly mumble, “Yttrium.” “Good job,” he coos, letting his eyes follow the other villains. Maleficent said she’d taken something from the chem room, what is it?     “What you got there, Mali?” She turns to smirk at Hook, “Finishing ingredient to the potion. Though, it looks like we could have just got it off of (Y/n). What have you been doing to them to have them sweating like that, Hook?” His brows furrow, looking at the vial of powder in Uliana’s hand as she stands dangerously close to the fire-heated cauldron. They could get it from (Y/n)’s sweat? What could she be- his blood runs cold as Uliana goes to pull the stopper out of the bottle.
  “Uliana, don’t!” He’s throwing a very startled (Y/n) off of his lap as he jumps up, running towards the group. “What, you have a soft spot for Charming now?” He’s shaking his head furiously as he reaches out for the vial. “You can’t put that in there right now. It needs to cool.” Her  arms cross, holding the vial away from his panicked hand. “What are you talking about?”  Dark eyes stay trained on the vial, shaking his head as he speaks, “That’s sodium, right? That’s what the joke about the sweat means?” She nods, a brow raised as she waves a hand for him to hurry up and explain himself. “So, you cannot add heat to sodium.” “People add heat to salt all the time, Hook. We’ll be fine.”  She’s not listening, she never listens.
   “It’s not salt, Uli. Sodium is only half of salt.” “The other half is chlorine,” (Y/n) calls out from the other side of the room. And Hook smiles slightly, giving them a thumbs up behind his back. “So what, you’re saying that I can’t use it?” Uliana is obviously growing tired of him, but there seems to be a gear turning in Maleficent's head. “Not with heat, unless you don’t like having eyebrows,” Hook shakes his head, an arm once again reaching out for the vial. “Are you threatening me?” He groans, dragging his hand down his face, “Fine Uliana, add heat to Sodium and make it explode. Explode with it for all I care. It’s your funeral.”  Hades looks between the two, watching Hook storm away from them as he extinguishes the fire under the cauldron. “Uliana, just let it cool. Hook, you two were actually studying chemistry?” He scoffs, waving him off, “I am more than a pretty face, Hades.” “But, you were all tired and sweaty?” “Made me answer questions while we were sword fighting,” (Y/n) shrugs. “But, his hand moving on your inner thigh?” “Tracing atomic symbols on their thigh,” Hook shrugs, reaching out for his partner who walks into his arms with a giggle. They were actually studying? Who in their right mind studies like that? Not that Hades has ever thought the couple were in their right mind.

Love From The Other Side (Bowser x Chubby Reader)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your kingdom had recently come on dire time. With the Koopa Kingdom having a vast army. Well who was Bowser to deny your family's pleads. Especially when you were being offered to him on a tempting platter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi guys, I'm back at it again. Don't think that I wasn't writing, I just found out I had an allergy. So I had to deal with that. But I'm back and with a cute Bowser story. I've wanted to write for him since the new Mario Bros movie. It wasn't until recently that I thought of a decent plot though. Any who I hope you enjoy.
---------------------------------------------------------
He was surprised at receiving a request for an audience with your kingdom. A trading kingdom from a far off port. He had seen your parents from time to time at galas or Royal conferences. They seemed to be respectable if not private people. What was most peculiar though, was your name in the letter. He had heard mentions of you of course. But outside of your own kingdom, no one had seemed to see you.
It may have been your presence that made his decision. Who was to say, either way, your family would be at his castle within a fortnight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your hands fidget together as the carriage made its way down the rocky road. Glancing around you notice your mother frowning out the window. While you father was staring at you. Looking down quickly, you braced for a lecture.
“You know this is a last resort, don't you?” His gaze seemed to bore through you to your very soul.
Nodding you hoped that would be answer enough. As he didn't turn away, you said. “I do.” Though the whole situation only made you feel as if you were only an object.
A ghost of a smile fell on his face. Though it was as hollow as his next words. “I'm glad.”
Your mother's eyes narrowed as they surveyed the passing scenery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your families arrival rang throughout the castle. The Goombas were rushing around to do last second tidying. While Kamek ordered Koopas to finish the dinner preparations.
Bowser's eyes swept over the grounds until they landed on the colorful carriage. It had wonderful murals of coastal scenery. As well as being drawn by creatures that weren't quite fish or horse. He was eagar to see what other oddities your kingdom may have. Hearing a scuffle next to him, he looked down to see Bowser Jr. shuffling in excitement. It wasn't everyday someone visited the castle under pleasant circumstances. Smiling down at his son, he ruffled his hair affectionately.
The carriage parked in front of the king and the driver opened the door. As regal as ever, your father and mother stepped through the door. He was a moment from greeting them, when you appeared. Beautiful as anyone he had ever seen and full as an overripe fruit. You were the visage of a deity.
Your father cleared his throat causing Bowser to reluctantly look away from you. The man had a knowing yet somber expression on his face. While your mother was out right scowling. A sheepish look crossed your face as you joined your parents.
Putting on a more professional air, he waved his arm towards the castle. “Welcome, please come inside and rest in your rooms a while. Dinner will be ready soon.” With that he rushed inside, Jr. trailing behind him. All the while berating himself. Coming up with a plan to not make so much of a fool of himself at dinner. Not noticing how Jr. couldn't stop looking back at you admiringly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Charles are you sure this is the right decision? I mean did you see the way he was gaping at her.” You could hear your mother's complaints ringing through the room you had been shown to.
“Evie please, this was a descion that had to be made.” There was a tense silence that followed. “It's not as if we've forced her. You know better than anyone that no one can will her to do anything.”
This caused an uncomfortable pressure to build behind your eyes. Not wanting to hear about your parents thoughts on you. You swiftly entered the room. “Have they called us for dinner?” You had already heard the Koopa tell your parents it was ready. But it was easier to change the subject quickly and avoid their gaze this way.
Your father smiled and gave you a endearing smile that you weren't sure you deserved. “Yes, should we start making our way then.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He sat at the head of the table. Desperately hoping that he didn't seem to eagar as your family approached. Jr. bounced in his seat to the right. To his shock you took the seat on his left. It was in this moment that he was glad that Kamek had suggested a smaller table. Something about it being a less intimidated and cozy gestured.
The first dish came out and only the sound of silverware filled the room. It wasn't until the main course came that the tension was broken by your father.
“I'm sure your curious as to why we've called for this audience.” His gaze felt piercing to the turtle tyrant.
His eyes flickered to you for a brief moment, before focusing on him. “I was surprised why such a distant kingdom would reach out.” Without knowing the reason for your visit, it felt like he had to walk on egg shells. Why were you here?
Rubbing a hand across his aged features, he said. “It is not under happy circumstances. We are receiving threats from a nearby kingdom. Are you familiar with the Eezla domain?”
He had to hold back a flinch. Even he had a hard time dealing with the war hungry dictator of a leader from there. It was no wonder your family had seeked out an audience with another kingdom. The only question was why his.
“He has come to us with a demand. Our daughter's hand in marriage or a battle for our ports.” His tone was weary.
Your gaze dropped to the table with dread. You wouldn't mind sacrificing your morals to save your people. But as the only heir for your family. It was an obvious ploy to take over the kingdom. You wouldn't have been surprised if your parent's death would have followed the potential ceremony.
“So instead we talked together on the matter and came to a new conclusion. It would be far more difficult if our daughter was wed to a more tolerable kingdom. Though they would need to have a formidable army.” He would have continued his eloquent explanation. If not for your mother's bitter interuption.
“She choose you. Can you believe that.” Her glare burned through him. “Out of all the options she had. You were her first pick.” Folding her arms over her chest, she resembled more closely a toddler than a queen.
Standing up quickly, you gave a hard stare to your mother. “It was the logical choice.” Looking away from her, your timid demeanor returned. “If the other party accepts that is.”
He could help but think that your gaze was as piercing as your father's. Though there was a graceful openness to you. He thought of Peach for a moment and had to keep a grimace off of his face. It had been a blow to his heart when she married Mario. Looking at you, it was like a golden opportunity had been dropped in his lap. “I do.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was an odd feeling to bid fairwell to your parents. But with your mother's distaste for the arrangement and time running out. It was better that they go start the ceremony preparations now. It was a relief to only have to make final decisions. Also that Bowser agreed to a wedding in your home lands.
Placing your ear against the door. No large footfalls could be heard and your shoulders sagged in relief. You shouldn't be avoiding your betrothed. On the other hand, if he asked about what your mother said. You just may die of embarrassment.
Just how was a sheltered princess supposed to explain to her newly betrothed about her powers. That the only reason the ruler of Eezla had found out you are a seerer. After that it wasn't long before he demanded for your hand. By choice or force. This had prompted you to shut yourself away and look for the best path. It hadn't taken long. The moment Boswer entered your visions, it was all but decided. The sight of his heart break was surprising. Followed by the tenderness he held for his son. He provided for his citizens, raising a fierce army.
A blush took over your face as you remembered your possible future together. Growing to care for one another. Parenting Bowser Jr. together, even visions of your own children. It was almost to much to handle, your face felt as if it was on fire.
Taking a deep breath, you gathered yourself. Stepping out the door, you bumped into a small figure. It was a shock to run into someone shorter than you. But a gasp escaped your mouth as you saw Jr. on the floor in front of you.
Scooping him up on your arms, you fussed. “Oh darling, I'm so sorry. I didn't notice you there. Are you ok?”
He beamed up at you and nodded quickly. He couldn't believe how lucky he was. He got a new mama, she was super nice and pretty! “Are you coming to breakfast?”
Looking down at the sweet boy you hesitated. “Is your father there?”
Shaking his head, he said. “No, he had to go with Kamek. So I told him I would take you to breakfast.” He was bouncing in your arms. It made him a bit hard to keep a hold of.
So placing him down gently, you nodded. “Yes some food sounds good.” You felt guilty for avoiding him. But you thought some time apart may bury the comments your mother made.
Feeling a tug at your hand, you allowed the excited child to lead you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He couldn't keep his mind off of it. You had chosen him. Of all people why him? He could hardly pay attention to the map sprawled out before him. No matter how many times he told himself that knowing the enemy territory was important. His thought just couldn't stop straying to you.
Your sweet temperament and melodious voice. How well your plush form filled out your clothes. How you looked at him without any fear or animosity. You had chosen him.
Shifting his mind onto a task to aid you. Yes that's how he could keep himself on point. This was for you. The more he knew of his new enemies. The better he could protect you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You didn't see each other again until dinner that evening. You having spent the day with Jr., avoiding any thought of the large turtle. While he made battle strategy and his mind wouldn't stop returning to you.
It would have been a quiet meal, if not for the youngest participant. He animatedly talked about what you both had done that day. His father couldn't help his admiration for you growing. You obviously had already taken a special place in his son's life.
“Then I slipped off the stair.” Waving his arms around wildly, the pint size turtle almost tipped out of his chair. You both leaned forward, until he settled back down. Your face flushed as your eyes met. “But Ms. (Y/N) caught me with sparkles.”
Bowser's eyes widened, he hadn't been informed of you having magical ability. He wondered if it was anything like Kamek's spells. “I wasn't aware of you being a caster.”
Your face darkened as his attention was solely on you. “Not many people are. That's one reason my parents kept me from the public eye. With how rare magic users are and all.” He wanted to questioned you a bit more. But the subject seemed to make you more timid than usual. So instead he turned back to Jr. and listened to his day with you. Hopefully with time you would feel comfortable enough to open yourself up to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You couldnt stand it any longer. You had to tell him the truth. It felt deceitful to keep your ability from him. The day you were meant to be bound was fast approaching. You didn't want to start your married life together on such a sour note.
You steeled your nerves as you came upon the door to his private chambers. It was well past Jr.’s bedtime, so you knew interuptions were unlikely. Raising a fist you knock lightly, when no immediate answer came you were torn. A part of you was relieved to not have to deal with this quite yet. Still there was a throb of anxiety about waiting any longer. You battled with yourself to knock again or leave. Until the door swung open.
Bowser toweled off his firey hair as he looked down at you. It was an unlikely yet pleasant surprise to see you outside his chambers. Grinning down at you he invited you in. “Make yourself comfortable.”
As he left through another door, you glanced around the room. It was about as grand as you had imagined it. Lavish paintings and banners decorating the walls. Though an area was sectioned off for Jr.'s art. It was adorable and heartwarming to see how much he had saved. A flush coated your cheeks as you noticed the only place to sit was the large bed. It was a lavish setting, dark stained wood with deep red bedding. You felt a shy yet scandalous heat travel through you. It wouldnt be long before this would be your chambers as well. The very bed that you would share together.
You almost jumped out of your skin as he reentered the room.
“Sorry about that, you caught me after a shower.” His hair drooped in a freshly washed fashion. It was a look you hadn't had a chance to see yet. It was an odd, but endearingly boyish style. “What was it you wanted to discuss?”
“Oh I was um.” The blush spread deepening to your neck. It was one thing to come up with the resolve. But another to go through with the difficult task. Still you needed to do this, for both of your sakes. “I need to let you know the truth. Why I chose you that is.”
He watched you carefully. It was something that had been on his mind for a while. Who was he kidding, since it was mentioned. But as he watched you fidget in place, he couldn’t take the usual pleasure he got from others squirming. So instead, he sat next to you patiently and waited for you to continue.
Gathering all your courage, you spat it out. “I can see the future.” A stagnant silence filled the air. Each of you waiting for the other to break it.
He awkwardly shifted to get a better look at you. Was that why you had chosen him? Was he the best pick or did you settle. Gazing down at you, he took you in. Your flush full cheeks and eyes looking everywhere but him. Your soft body, if only you knew how much your plush form filled his dreams. Taking your warm hands into his own, he smiled genuinely. “So you saw us together?” You nodded. “Were we….” He paused not knowing how to put the next question.
You noticed his hesitation, it made you want to sigh in relief. It was nice to know that you weren't the only one having a difficult time navigating this. Tightening your hold on his hands you explained. How the leader of Eezla had found out about you being a mage. But the only thing he was interested in was your proficient seer abilities. His demand for your hand was met with refusal. He then threatened the lives of your people. This led you to searching for a solution, which turned out to be him.
Eyes wide he wanted to deny it all. “But I'm just as bad as he is. Why choose me over him?” He hated himself for bringing it up. But a part of him would feel worse if he didn't.
Shaking your head you glared at him. “You are nothing like that monster. I know you have a sorted past with the Mushroom Kingdom. But the moment Peach married you left well enough alone. Not to mention the way you care for Jr. and your citizens. And when we have our daughter, your eyes light up the first time you hold her.”
He stared at you with astonishment. “We have a daughter?” You cover your face mortified. Only to shriek in the next moment as he scoops you up and spins you around the room. Your screams turn into elated giggles as you relax in his arms. Pulling you closer he gazes into your lovely eyes and leans forward. You meet his lips in a tender kiss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things went well, pleasant conversation and sweet looks were exchanged. It seemed that things were going to work out. Until the Mushroom Kingdom caught wind of a damsel ‘trapped’ in Bowser's castle.
Mario suits up as his brother looks at him skeptically. “Are you sure you should go charging in there?”
The shorter man glared at him. It wasn't like he had a choice. The minute Peach heard some woman was there she threw a fit. Complaining about her time there and what she had to deal with. If it was her he wouldn't hesitate to rush over. Even if she was right, he just wanted to relax every once and a while. If it wasn't his new royal duties, it was his family back in Brooklyn. It felt like he hadn't had a day off in years.
Waving a hand at the other man, he said. “I'm just going to check things out. Not start a war or anything.”
With a weary nod he followed after his older brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As time was drawing closer for the wedding, you were pouring over the final details with Bowser. He had originally insisted that you make all the decisions. But after convincing him this was a ceremony to join you both, he relented. You were elated at the combination of opinions and styles. It was going to be a magical event.
Jr. had tried not to get bored while you went over the seemingly endless papers. He really did, but what was a young boy to do. Although when he heard the words flower arrangements. He knew there was something he could do to help. Calling out that he was headed to the gardens, he darted away.
As he gathered flowers, weeds, and grass. He failed to notice the two plumbers approaching the castle. He jumped and whirled around as they called out to him.
“Hey kid, have you seen a new lady around the place?” Mario thought it would be easier to ask than sneak around.
Eyes narrowing at the brothers, he frowned. “What’s it to you?” There was no way he was letting these guys near Mama. When they didn't answer, he turned back to a patch of red flowers.
Getting frustrated with the whole situation, the shorter man put a hand on the boy. Only hoping to get his attention again. He was shocked when the child ran from them.
“Mama!” He stumbled in his hurry to escape from the brothers. Tumbling end over end, he landed on his knee. Scrapping the skin, blood seeped from the wound. Tears sprang from his eyes as he sat on the ground. Luigi started to make his way over, until the wind began to pick up and the ground shook.
The entrance burst open as a red eyed Bowser and a whirlwind sprinted towards the group. The wind calmed down a bit. The brothers were faced with a woman that looked as of she wanted to bite their heads off. They had never seen a more fierce expression on a person before.
Your hair whipped around your face wildly. The only thing that brought you back was Jr. wrapping his arms around your leg. Dropping the magic immediately, you scooped him into your arm. Cuddling him close to your chest, you wiped the tears from his cheeks.
Allowing himself to take a moment to gaze at the two of you tenderly. He enjoyed the sight of the woman he was growing to love caring for his child. It was a veiw that he could get used to. A glare slid on his face as he turned towards the brothers. “Is there any reason your harassing my son. Make it quick, you interupted something important.” One wrong move and he would tear into these idiots. He would risk peace with the Mushroom Kingdom for his families’ safety.
“We came to make sure she wasn't here against her will.” Mario was done with this entire situation. He was obviously sent on a dead end trip. You were treating Bowser Jr. like your own child. Not to mention Bowser putting himself between you and the brothers. It was obvious you were here by choice.
This made you finally take your attention off Jr. These men come here and accuse your betrothed of forcing you here. You know he had a sorted pass. Though your ability showed that he was passed that phase. It was one thing to make baseless claims. But it was a whole other to harm a child in the process. “I am here of my own accord. In a months time I will be marrying Boswer and taking my place in this kingdom. If that is enough evidence for you, I will now be leaving to heal my son. If not then I won't hesitate to make sure this is your last trip to the Koopa Kingdom.” The wind picked back up at your threat.
“No, we'll be on our way.” Mario just wanted to go home and soak away this entire experience. Pulling Luigi along, he shushed his protest with a wave of his hands.
Bowser followed after you, pupils practically shaped like hearts. He wasn't sure what he had done to be so lucky to meet you. But he would be sure to keep his plush queen by his side.

Didn’t know where to ask but do you know of a few fics that are fluffy Larry ? Similar to of mates and men and babes in boyland? Thanks
sorry this took so long to answer omg i had this ready to go like weeks ago but my laptop broke & formatting this on my phone was horrendous. anyway, i haven’t read of mates & men yet bc that sucker is LONG, but it’s been sitting in my read later list for a while. i rly need to read that shit bc i know it’s right up my alley 😭😭 regardless, YES!!! i always have some fluffy larry fics on hand who do you take me for
disclaimer is that some of these are pretty different from what i understand the premise of omam to be but i chose them bc of larry’s dynamic & the amount of fluff / harry is louis’ baby that occurs in them -- if you want different ones/more, just lmk !! i have a bunch on deck <3
knock knock, i love you by beautlouis
“Well,” Louis says, searching for something to relieve this tension. “I think if a bloke gets kicked out of his stats exam for a knock knock joke, he deserves to hear the punchline, yeah?”
“Oh!” Harry says, beaming. “I forgot where we left off, what was it again?” He looks overjoyed to be exchanging a shit joke.
“Ah, you said knock knock, then I said who’s there, and then you said Noah,” Louis supplies helpfully. He hates that he's actually curious about the rest of the joke. “So, Noah who?”
“Oh,” says Harry, in a much different tone, dragging out the syllable. He looks bashful now. Louis cannot keep up with this boy, it's going to kill him. “Right, well.” He shuffles his feet. Fuck, what kind of knock knock joke gets a boy nervous? “Noah a good place we could get something to eat?”
[Harry and Louis get kicked out of a statistics exam for passing a knock knock joke note, and subsequently fall in love. Harry's a virgin, there's a cat, a hot cocoa date, a lot of sex, even more knock knock jokes, and everything is lovely and happy.]

“So you saw the bunnies then?” Harry clarifies, a smirk tugging at his lips.“Yeah, those were a bit of a surprise,” Liam huffs. “I mean, they definitely weren’t part of what we commissioned from him, but they’re kind of cute, right?”Harry sputters a laugh.“What?” Liam asks, the furrow in his brow deepening. “They are cute little bunnies!”“Cute little bunnies that are fucking,” Harry snickers.“What?” Liam gasps. “Liam,” Harry says, trying to school his face into a serious expression. “Those bunnies are fucking.”
A slow Monday night behind the bar turns into something else entirely thanks to a new mural and a new customer.

"Louis doesn’t take his eyes off Harry for the rest of his set. He doesn’t even drink his pint. He just watches, and listens, and is completely enraptured by this boy with his curls and his velvet voice. Harry plays a mixture of originals and covers (songs Louis loves, by the way, so he’s got great taste as well), and in between songs he’s cheeky and charming, and Louis is desperate to know him."
Louis is an A&R rep, and Harry is a singer/songwriter. They meet on New Years Eve.
sweetest devotion by brightgolden @brightgolden
After his divorce, all Harry wants in life is to provide a stable, loving environment for his three-year-old daughter, Evie.
Never in his wildest dreams has he ever considered that life might come with the presence of his teenage crush — Gemma’s friend from secondary school, Louis Tomlinson.
Luckily, Harry isn’t still pining over him.
Or so he thought.
walking in a winter wonderland by pinkgelpen / @girlharryofficial
Louis opens the door still in his pyjamas and Harry’s heart beats n his throat because Louis has milk at the corners of his mouth and biscuit crumbs on his chin and Harry thinks that this is what love might feel like, having your heart beat in your fingertips and rattle your body in an attempt to break free and give itself over to the object of your affection.
(Harry has a serious crush on Louis Tomlinson that ends up with him accidentally signing up to be on the Winter Ball committee)
what do you mean he's coming? by mediawhore / @mediawhorefics
When Harry accepted to be his sister’s Maid of Honour, despite how non-traditional of a choice he was, he didn’t think writing a speech for the wedding reception would be this hard. Now, not only does he have less than two weeks left to find something moving and inspirational to say, but Gemma just confided in him that her old childhood best friend is going to be in attendance. The one who moved to LA and they haven’t seen in fifteen years because he was too busy becoming an Academy Awards winner. But hey, no pressure. It’s just Louis Fucking Tomlinson.
Harry is screwed.
want it flowing through my streams by screwstyles / @screwstyles
Wimbledon ABO AU: Harry has just qualified for his first Grand Slam, and he’s prepared to make the most of it – that is, until his heat unexpectedly hits him only a few days before his first match. And it’s just his luck that Louis Tomlinson, the resident bad boy of British tennis, is the only person around to help him.
young hearts on the chase by homemotif / @polaroidlouis
Before he can question him any further, Harry’s holding out a drink to him, ‘Louis’ written on the side of it with messy, pink letters. Warmth spreads all throughout Louis’ body when he takes it, starting from the tip of his fingers where they brush Harry’s to curl around the cup and settling in his chest.
“I also got us– um,” the omega starts, nervous fingers fumbling to get the paper bag open. “Got you an egg muffin. Or– or a normal muffin if you don’t like egg ones.”
“Who doesn’t like egg muffins?”
The smile that breaks across Harry’s face in response is as bright as the one yesterday. Louis almost expects it to be kissed into his cheek as well. It looks like Harry’s considering it for a moment, too, dreamy gaze gliding all over Louis’ expectant face. He seems to decide against it with a sigh though, and Louis’ not disappointed when they start walking side by side instead (he’s not).
harry’s a hopeless romantic, louis’ oblivious, and it’s going to be Valentine’s Day.
you've been taking up my mind by styleandsin / @styleandsin
“Wish I had a popstar boyfriend who wrote me songs,” Harry mutters petulantly. He’s kind of kidding. He’s happy for Liam, and if who he falls in love with ends up being a famous singer who writes him songs, great. But he’s also a tad jealous because he remembers his phase—that he definitely grew out of a long time ago—where he was certain he’d marry Louis Tomlinson.
Harry's always been a fan of Louis Tomlinson, and when he gets a artist pass for a music festival (thanks to his best friend's new popstar boyfriend) he doesn't expect to actually meet Louis.
