Here are the young figure skaters we lost on flight 5342. I wanted to try to show a fraction of the joy they brought into the world and the passion they had for figure skating. They were woman's figure skaters, men's figure skaters and ice dancers. The whole community is mourning these bright young stars. They were so excited to be invited to the national development camp. They were fans of the sport first. They got to take pictures with their heroes among them Amber Glenn, Caroline Green and Micheal Parson and Oona Brown and Gage Brown. Thank you to all the older skaters who supported and encouraged our young ones. They will be remembered by this community, their friends, families and all who had the pleasure of knowing them. Lost coaches Inna Volyanskaya, Vadim Naumov, and Evgenia Shishkova are pictured among their lost students. They inspired the next generation. The children we lost include Spencer Lane, Jinna Han, Edward Zhou, Everly Livingston, Lydia Livingston, Franco Aparicio, Sean Kay RE and Angela Yang. Please support their families and each other during this time. If you need someone to talk to or help, please reach out. There are services available including therapy if you think it may be helpful. There is no shame in needing extra support during a life changing tragedy. There are online mental health services too including suicide hotlines Sending love and prayers to our lost members of the community and their families. We will remember them 🕊️

An American Airlines flight AA5342 (American Eagle) Bombardier CRJ700 en route from Wichita, Kansas has reportedly COLLIDED IN MIDAIR with a UH-60 Blackhawk U.S. Military helicopter over Reagan International Airport in Washington D.C.
U.S. Army has confirmed there were only three soldiers on board the Blackhawk…the pilot, co-pilot, and crew chief. The minimum requirement for flight.
There was NO high ranking Military Official or VIP on board at the time of the crash.
Very unfortunate confirmations are circulating that a good amount of the U.S. Figure Skating Championship Team was aboard American Eagle Flight AA5342 on way back from competition and training in Wichita, Kansas.
That includes the athletes and their coaches, who had just finished “National Development Camp” in Wichita before returning to Washington D.C.
Famous Russian Figure Skating pair Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov are said to have been on board the plane according to Russian media. They both won the figure skating title for a pair in the years 1994 & 1998. Both were coaches for the team.
The plane totally disintegrated upon impact and is in many pieces in the Potomac along with the helicopter, which was found upside down. Rescue efforts are on going, and according to reports there are over 100 Ambulances waiting to take survivors to local hospitals.
It’s increasingly likely there will be NO survivors, and that means 67 people lost their lives tonight.
No word yet on who else was on the doomed airliner, and official manifest has not been made public yet.
Please just take a moment to pray for all of the victims and their families.
God bless them all. 🙏🙏🙏

67 people are feared dead after a midair collision between a small American Airlines jet and a military helicopter sent them both into the Potomac River last night, January 29, 2025. No survivors have been located.
What we know so far:
Sixty passengers and four crew were on the jet; three soldiers were aboard the Blackhawk helicopter on a training exercise.
The plane was hit on approach to the DCA runway. It had been redirected to a shorter runway, and the transponder went dead (following collision) 2400 feet from the runway.
Air traffic controllers attempted to contact the helicopter crew in the seconds before the crash, but there was no response.
The Kennedy Center cameras showed a "fireball" when the vehicles collided.
The DC fire chief has stated they are no longer searching for survivors and are now focused on recovering remains.
Young figure skaters Jinna Han and Spencer Lane, and skating coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov were on board the flight, returning from Wichita after the US Championships.
