This Feeling

I know this feeling.

I want to capture it.

In art.

In writing,

in paint,

in fabric,

in thread,

in ink.

I get to be here,

now,

twenty-six,

single,

pansexual,

in my pyjamas,

cozy slippers,

in the car at night,

with the middle light on.

and a rollie,

The kitchen and hall lights are on,

faint lights from the neighbours,

inky black silhouettes of trees,

on an indigo-grey sky,

misty clouds and scattered stars.

It is all,

beautiful.

It’s mundanity,

and it’s inconsequence,

make it even more so.

I get to be here.

I get to experience this moment.

It took so much to get here.

People will harp on bad CGI effects but like

It’s not real

I know it’s not real you know it’s not real the movie making people know it’s not real the technicians know it’s not real

We are all suspending our disbelief right now. Otherwise it wouldn’t be FICTION

I read a review of season 1 Merlin for a class and they were like “the CGI is terrible” and “the dragon doesn’t even look real!” That’s because dragons aren’t real dumbass. What would a real dragon look like anyway maybe it looks like shitty cgi it doesn’t matter just go with it.

The way in which you view the story isn’t more important than the story itself. Like you can have a beautiful movie with beautiful effects that look hyper realistic but that doesn’t mean shit if the story is absolutely terrible. The fact that it’s beautiful doesn’t save anything from being a shitty story or just plain old unenjoyable.

Like Spy Kids and Sharkboy and Lavagirl. The effects are shitty but they’re still fun. Power Rangers also has terrible effects but you know what it doesn’t matter because those funky little teenagers are saving the day in bright costumes.

It’s funny. Just go with it. Some people want to look at stuff hyper critically and be all like well it’s lacking in this respect. X could be better. But like art is literally what we make of it. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Nothing is perfect. As long as people like it then it’s fine. If a guy can take a canvas and paint it nine different shades of black and call it art then cool. If a guy makes a yellow border and calls it art cool. Whatever. The definition of art is inherently meaningless of whatever. I don’t care. Shitty CGI is part of art too.

Anyway CGI makes it so that you have to suspend your disbelief less than if you’re reading a medieval romance (not a love story, a medieval genre defined by topoi and tropes) so be thankful for coherent stories (I’m sry ms. Watts I just really didn’t like Percival)

Maybe when I’m less sleep deprived I’ll change stuff here but I’m tired so whatever
