❛ i’m sorry, but i’m just thinking of the right words to say. ❜ // @Kazuma but... Masked Apprentice Kazuma?? 👀👀👀👀
Songs from the 80's Sentence Starters | Accepting! | @tenacquity
((hoooOOOWEE ARE YOU READY TO CRY?? 8'D I SURE HOPE SO, HERE WE GOOO))
The right words?
He may have laughed at the statement if he remembered how. If it weren't so cruel in its irony. For the words this man spoke didn't matter when the mere sound of his voice shook the Apprentice to his core.
Every time, without fail. After months of wandering the foggy London streets like a wraith plucked from a ghost story, the feeling of being utterly lost was never as powerful—or as weak—as in this man's presence.
He made the emptiness inside of him better, yet simultaneously worse. As the Apprentice watched him struggle to speak, he didn't recognize the churning depths of his eyes or the thoughtful crease to his brow—and that unfamiliarity ached unlike anything else. Earth-shattering, even though he couldn't understand it. Powerful enough to change everything if only he could remember.
And he wanted to, with a desperation he didn't know himself capable of feeling before their fateful meeting in the Prosecutor's Office only yesterday. But he couldn't. He'd tried. And the same thought crushed down upon his shoulders now as it did then:
What right did he have to something—to someone—he did not know?
He shouldn't be here.
He'd never intended to face him to begin with. With the halls of the Old Bailey dim and abandoned for the night, the Apprentice had been about to leave, too: prepared to spend another night searching for anything that might trigger his memories, if the other man hadn't found him first.
Wasn't this exactly what he'd wanted? No—not this. It was too much. Too painful.
The Apprentice took a step back. Then another. Each one soundless yet stilted as he battled against himself: trapped between a visceral urge to flee, to leave this man behind—and an equally powerful conviction that he couldn't. Not again.
—again?
He didn't...They didn't... Did they?
It was too much...!
In the end the Apprentice moved no further. He merely watched, dark eyes unreadable in the shadows of his mask and cloak. Silently weathering the tempest of nonsensical emotion surging through his rib cage. Waiting for something he didn't understand.
Or, perhaps, simply waiting for the right words.

I want to get in a little practice for writing Kiko (and also i can't get girl dad chuuya out of my head) so here's a little moment of her being a cutie, and a little bit of setting the scene for the big fic
Chuuya x f!Reader, nickname 'angel' used
Divider by @/cafekitsune
"Papa!" A little voice calls out, and Akutagawa will never get used to the way Chuuya's whole demeanour changes when his daughter appears. Both men turn towards the sound, Chuuya's arms already outstretched to catch the little girl barreling towards him. He's smiling, too, and if Akutagawa didn't know better, he would think Chuuya is just another loving father, not one of the most dangerous men in Yokohama. He's ... warmer, softer around the edges when he's with Kiko, and when he's with you - not that he lets many see that side of him.
Kiko throws herself into her fathers' arms, not a hint of hesitation on her face. Chuuya holds her close, cradling her against his body as he turns his attention to you, standing back and watching them with open adoration. Your eyes slide over to him next, and Akutagawa doesn't know what to do with the affection in the smile you send his way.
"Hey angel. Wasn't expecting you; is everything alright?" Akutagawa can see the slight tension in Chuuya's shoulders, and he sees it release when Kiko speaks up, still clinging to her father with one hand clutching his jacket.
"Me and Mama missed you!" Kiko learns around her father to shoot Akutagawa a toothy grin, "Ryuu-kun! See, Mama, I told you we would see him too!"
Your voice is fond as you answer her, and you check she's not looking before rolling your eyes, "Yes, you did, baby." You address him, amusement clear in your voice, "She was very excited to see you."
Punctuating her mother's statement, Kiko starts wriggling in her father's hold, and he sets her down, kissing the crown of her head when her feet are safely on the floor. Moments later, she's wrapped around Akutagawa's leg, talking a mile a minute about everything she's done since the last time she saw him. It's nice, he thinks as he listens to her - there's precious few people who don't treat him with caution, who look past his reputation and see him as more than a weapon.
"Akutagawa." He looks up at Chuuya's call of his name. There's a barely there smile on his face, "Go with them - make sure they're safe."
He knows what this is - Chuuya always makes sure the two of you are well guarded, but there's hardly a need for someone like him to accompany you. It's not like you're defenceless, and there's much better things he could be doing to benefit the Port Mafia. This is for him. He's not sure how he feels about it, but an executive is asking him to do something, so it's not like he can say no. He wouldn't anyway - he can admit to himself that he enjoys spending time with you, and the thought of disappointing Kiko and having her look up at him with big, tear-filled eyes makes him uncomfortable.
Kiko slips her little hand into his as Chuuya says his goodbyes to you; wrapping you in his arms and leaving a gentle kiss on your lips, whispering words for you alone into the space between you. The love between you is palpable, and he averts his eyes.
"Be good for your Mama, Kiko. I'll see you tonight; I love you." Chuuya crouches down to claim one final hug from the little girl. She leans into the hug, pressing a wet kiss to his cheek before pulling away and tugging Akutagawa down the corridor.
She waves behind her without looking, too focused on her next adventure, "I will, Papa! I love you."
The laughter from behind him suggests there will be no rescue from the four year old currently dragging him along, and he finds that he doesn't mind at all.

°☆●
Peek-a-boo
𝑨𝒌𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒘𝒂 𝒙 𝒇𝒆𝒎!𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓
𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒓𝒆: seduction 101/ smut♡
Blood raced through Akutagawa's entire body, anger seeping from every pore of his skin. Why the hell did everything go so wrong today? Since morning he's had mission after mission, endless hours of suppressed stress and, as if this weren't enough, he also ran into the weretiger during his lunch break.
Making his way towards the locker room, fists clenched in attempt to push down the rush of rage; he turned the door handle and swung it open.
And there you were, standing in the middle of the room; your body slightly hunched over as you tried to pull on a pair of thin stockings.
Your head snapped towards the door, arms coming to cover your chest.
"Didn't you learn to knock or- Oh hi Akutagawa."
Your lips curled into a sly smile when you saw how flustered your colleague was. He stood in the door frame, hand still grasping the knob as he held your gaze. Still, he couldn't deny that he was relieved he walked in on you instead of someone else.
The relationship between the two of you was not clearly defined yet: you were on friendly terms, sometimes even more than friendly considering the amount of times you hooked up; but the mafioso did his utmost during the past weeks to stay away from you.
He hated how his heart fluttered whenever he saw you. Even now, seeing you half naked, he could barely contain the blush that bloomed on his cheeks.
"Well?" you asked in a playful manner "Come inside. I need your help with my dress."
You had managed to slide the black stockings up your legs, their fabric so translucent that Akutagawa could see your skin through it. He gulped and stepped towards you.
"How was your day?" you asked again, reaching for a coathanger in your locker.
"Shitty" he scoffed "And yours?"
"Kinda ok. I'm going out tonight, as you can see." Pulling the plastic cover from the hanger, you showed him your dress. "Pretty, right?"
It was indeed a beautiful dress: mid thigh and charcoal coloured with little specks of shimmer.
"Yea. Really pretty." he hummed.
You turned around, slipping into the dress and slid it up your figure.
"Gimme a hand with the zipper will you?"
Akutagawa's hands trembled slightly as his lithe fingers travelled down to the small of your back and pulled up the zip. You held your hair in a loose bun, exposing the nape of your neck.
With each second that passed, not touching you became harder and harder. He missed you; your touch, your voice, your scent, the long nights you spent together.
You could basically feel the tension slowly building between you, like a force that pulled you towards him and you smirked. Pushing your body flush against his, your ass rubbed his erection.
"Thank you Ryuu." you giggled.
His hands fiercely gripped your hips, halting your movements. "Don't" he hissed, hot breath fanning over the shell of your ear.
"Why not? You sure seem eager to see me." you mocked as you turned to face him. "You've been avoiding me."
"I haven't..." he stammered, but the pleading look in your eyes made it hard for him to lie. "I'm just tired and frustrated."
A light chuckled rolled off your lips; music to his ears. "I know. How about I help you with it? I still have twenty minutes 'till I have to leave."
Tracing the lapel of his coat you smiled sweetly. Akutagawa's heart sank, lips parting as he gave in and kissed you. It was sloppy and needy and he mentally cursed himself for behaving so weakly in front of you. With his fingers entangled in your hair he pushed you backwards and pressed your back against the lockers.
"Needy, needy boy." you hummed as his lips traced feathery kissed along his neck, earning a groan from him.
Your colleague was too embarassed to reply, simply following whatever his body was telling him to do. He needed you so badly; depriving himself of you was a stupid move which only made him yearn for you more.
One of his hands hooked under your knee and you followed his lead, loosely wrapping your leg around the side of his body. From this new position you could feel his erection pressing against your pelvis.
"May I?" he asked defeatedly, digits lingering on the wristband of your stockings.
"Since you asked so nicely." You playfully booped his nose, causing the man to blush even more.
Words could not describe how incredible it felt to see him unravel in front of you. Because of you. Lust pooled Akuatagwa's eyes and his hands trembled in anticipation as he took the stockings off your leg; his gaze hungrily taking in every inch of your skin.
Akutagawa hastly pushed your panties aside and slipped inside, a desperate moan rolling off his lips.
"God you're so tight" he uttered between low grunts. He buried his head in the crook of your neck in attempt to conceal his flustered expression, teeth gently sinking into your plump skin.
His thrusts were deep and painfully slow; a futile attempt to prolong this moment. You could tell that he was holding back and this mere realisation made your heart flutter. Gently tugging at the black tufts of hair at the back of his head, you whispered the praise and sweet words he so desperately needed.
"Just like that Ryu. You're doing so great please don't stop" Your voice lulled him in a state of pure bliss, eyes rolling back as he picked up the pace.
It didn't take long for him to reach his high, his lips finding yours again. That kiss conveyed all unspoken workds and feelings, all his hopes and wishes. And you returned it, a small whimper escaping your lips when you felt his cum fill you up.
"Shit I'm sorry Y/N" he apologised between ragged breaths as he watched the white liquid dripping down your thigh.
"Nah don't worry. I'll go clean myself up." you said dismissively. "You feeling better now?"
Akutagawa took a moment to just feel. Indeed, the anger and lust were gone, having been replaced by a sweet feeling of... relief? serenity?
His lips curled in a sheepish smile as he nodded. "Yea. Thanks a lot."
"Anytime sweetie. Now I gotta go or my friends are gonna start drinking without me" you said with a wink before putting on your heels and walking towards the door.
"Hey, Y/N."
"Yea?"
"Call me when you're done with your friends. I'll come pick you up, ok?" You raised an eyebrow in surprise, urging him to add "I mean, it's the least I can do after... you know."
"Okay. That works" you beamed, waving him goodby. "See you later Ryuu."
Akutagawa watched the door close behind you, the muffled sound of your heels clicking against the floor growing fainter with each step you took. He took a seat on one of the benches and inhaled deeply. Your perfume still lingered in the air.
Resting his head on the palms of his hand; knees propped on his knees he sighed. Why on Earth did he have to catch feelings for you?

Tea Games
A/N: For @trgdaily August Theme: Rose
Saw @funuya's wonderful Tea Take and Good Good Games art and promptly combusted, here's what remains of me
He’d never wondered what was behind the hedge.
Ryuu had everything he wanted on this side, all the smooth slopes and tricky rails that he could spend infinity doing tricks on. Sure, he and Mitsuki had started out with only a funbox in the beginning but now that the city had splurged for a bowl and there was talk of upgrading to a cradle and there was Touma and Iori joining, the park was a concrete paradise and Ryuu would’ve gone the rest of his life being satisfied with their curved wonderland, if he hadn’t gone crashing through the hedge.
Green whipped at his arms, tearing through his jacket even as he tried to twist free. Before he fell into it, he’d never noticed any thorns but they were hard to ignore now as they dug into his skin in burning lines. Scrambling to his feet, Ryuu squinted against the wall of branches and pushed his way back towards the light.
Finally bursting free, he stumbled from the sudden lack of resistance and found himself falling for the second time in only so many minutes. A hard edge hit his side, the ledge he must’ve wiped out on, returning for a round two.
Except this time, the ledge moved.
A cacophony of clinking and crashing, a shout, and a softer landing than he was expecting. Ryuu blinked, blades of grass brushing his cheek, and looked up into a vision of pink and blue.
“What are—Who are you?” The voice was indignant, but the hand that touched Ryuu’s shoulder was gentle and he’d expected the world to right itself when he sat up, but if anything it only flipped further upside down as he stared at the stranger and his table.
Teacups. So delicate they looked to have been made of moonlight, molded into the shape of tulips and lilies, a beehive teapot with convincing honey dripping down its side, and that didn’t even include the food. Pastries in every color, puffed to perfection and now crushed underneath him, cake smeared across the grass to feed the ants for months to come, spun sugar shattered to precious pieces. And in the middle of it all, a prince dressed in ribbons and roses.
“Are you hurt?” Even his gestures were princely, down on one knee and a finger under Ryuu’s chin, gazing at him with such intense scrutiny Ryuu wished he wasn’t dripping with tea and covered in frosting.
“I’m fine,” he said after a moment, followed by a hiss as he put weight on his elbow.
The prince pulled Ryuu’s arm aside with more strength than he expected, fingers grazing the cut underneath the rip in his jacket. “You’re bleeding.”
“It’s nothing, it’ll stop in a second.” Ryuu shrugged out of his sleeve and wiped the blood with his shirt, it was smaller than he’d expected from the prince’s reaction, and he’d had far worse, he wouldn’t even need a bandaid.
“But—”
“I’m better off than your…”
“Rose Banquet.”
“Right. Just you?” Ryuu could see chairs stacked to the side, but no one else was in sight. The prince looked back at the hedge, a noticeable hole now gaping from the pristine greenery.
“No, but the others are coming soon. You should go.” Grasping his uninjured arm, the prince helped Ryuu to his feet, the proximity leaving Ryuu swimming in the sweetest fragrance he’d ever encountered. He didn’t want to go, as unfamiliar and unexpected his journey had been, his curiosity was already taking root. Had the prince been here all along, just a few leaves over from where Ryuu practiced his ollies? What was the Rose Banquet for? And why did he have a new favorite smell?
The prince pushed him towards the hedge, hat askew and ribbon coming undone though Ryuu didn’t think it ruined his image. “Hurry!”
Ryuu turned back as he stepped into the hedge, covering the prince’s hand on his arm and holding them together for a moment. “I’m not dreaming, right?”
Laughing, the prince shook his head. “I didn’t think you hit your head, but you should have one of your friends check. Now go!”
“Wait, you’ve heard—” New voices drifted through the garden and the prince pulled back with one last look at Ryuu, a smile still playing across his mouth.
Ryuu retreated deeper amongst the branches, letting the hedge engulf him completely. The last trace of that magical meeting was the prince’s voice saying, “It’s my fault, there was a wasp…”
Returning to the yellow of the skatepark, Ryuu found himself missing the green, even as Touma landed next to him with a shout of concern. How had he never wondered what the hedge hid, until now?

𝑥𝑚𝑎𝑠𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡; 𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡, ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑦 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 ⋆˙⊹ Young! Ishida Ryuuken x f! reader. nsfw
request: @zella07 asked: Hello!! How are you? I hope you are doing well :D I want to request Ryūken Ishida x Female reader NsFw.(Prompt: Snow and Sky) please. Thank you soo much. | tw: nsfw. placed back when Ryu-chan was younger and Uryu wasn't even born. You could say reader became what Katagiri was. (or not, it's up to you). penetration. spanking and slapping. choking. dominant! ryuken | wc: 1.8k | masterlist | taglist: @zella07 @jin-supremacy01 @stygianoir @alexkanroji |
Because every winter you would look at the streets, and then, to the skies. Everything tints in white, like the strands of the slightly wavy hair that covers half of his face.
Ryuuken has left the city to become a doctor, but maybe also to scape from his family. From his family, and her. She, who would represent the sun for him, fell in love with another man, leaving in Ryuuken a hole in his chest, a dark void in his heart. You wonder if, perhaps, he has also left her behind like he did with his old life…
Another new years eve approaches, showing all how cruel and unstoppable the pass of the time is.
You open a pristine white envelope, breaking the Quincy star wax stamp with great pleasure. Once again, the Ishida family is hosting a New Years Eve gathering for you all… the Echt Quincy. However, it was weird enough for you to see that the letter of invitation had a special request added right at the end…
“Dear, (Name). The Ishida family begs for your presence, my son Ryuuken is coming back this year”
You jolt from your seat; “Ryuu is coming back?!” you scream walking towards the foggy window of your room. You take a look at the sky becoming darker outside with frosted stars all above, and smile pleased… yes, Ryuuken is finally coming back…
The next day had been hectic. Searching for the best dress would have been easier if the Quincy rules weren’t so strict, however you ended up getting the sexiest choice allowed; a white, tight, long dress. Almost as long as the hours passing until you are finally set to meet him again.
“I wonder if his hair is still wavy and white… is he still wearing glasses?” you think, while a car sent by the Ishida family takes you to their manor.
As you take the first step outside, and thank the chauffeur, you breathe the cold air of the year’s last day. “Here we go… I hope you still remember me…”
Inside, everything -as always- looks so perfect and sterile. No fancy decorations, but refined and sad elements that reminds you of how strict that family had been all their life.
A beautiful woman, with black hair and dark attire receives your white coat, a coat only pure Quincies wear. “Welcome, Miss (Name). Please, follow me” she says, smiling with sad eyes.
“Thank you so much, Katagiri…” you mumble, knowing too well who she is; the woman that has taken care of Ryuuken since her childhood.
Music plays in the background, wrapping the notes with the soft bustle of the invitees. A soft mumble that turns into silence when you appear in front of them. Many have an amazed expression on their faces, others, lustful looks bathing your body.
Izumi Ishida, Ryuuken’s mother, older than what you could remember, comes to your rescue. She salutes you, so formal as always.
She doesn’t speak about her son immediately, in fact, many of her questions have to do with you and your life.
“(Name)!” the sudden, and well known, sad voice of Ryuuken pulls you away from his mother. His hair is still as snowlike as always. His blue eyes shine like a winter moon and his expression is still the same… Ryuuken never smiles, Ryuuken still has his heart broken.
“Ryuu-chan!! You are back!!!” you, euphorically, react. Running towards him, remembering those days were you two were kids. A tight hug surrounds his cold embrace, melting for perhaps two or three seconds, his icy stare.
Everybody gasps at your reaction. That isn’t proper of Quincies, much lest Eicht ones. But who cares, who cares about their stupid rules?
Ryuuken does. He really cares. And, just as he pushes you away in a subtle way he also grabs you by your wrist. “(Name), stop. Follow me” he commands under his breathe. Though, you think there is no point in trying not to be loud.
You walk fast, trying to follow his steps into the long hall of the manor. You still smile, he is blushed, and his palm becomes sweaty around your hand.
“Ryuu-chan, what is going on?” you ask, giggling. But soon your smile fades as he pushes you against the wall. “(Name), why are you here?” he asks, rather aggressively with shaky voice.
You widen your eyes, why is he treating you this way? You try to let go off his strong grip, but truth is that you wouldn’t like him to ever let you go. “Ryuken, why are you hurting me?” you ask, calmly with a deadly smirk.
He swallows and sighs. His stare softens as well as his grip, but he never lets you fully go. “Why are you here? Did my mother call you?” he asks, troubled.
“I- I’ve been invited as always. She told me you were coming back, yes. But it was my decision to come. I missed you… but don’t worry, I’m leaving if it’s a problem to you” you mumble, sad to see how much discomfort your presence seems to be bringing him.
Ryuuken realizes you aren’t the one to blame. “I’m really sorry” he murmurs, letting you go, but keeping his hand on the wall right next to your face. With his head hanging down, he takes his time to sketch a simple answer.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. It’s just that my family is desperate for me to marry… and… why must be me?” he says, knowing that the future of the Quincies -again- depends on him.
You bite your lips, and softly approach for his cheek. Carressing with utmost care his chin you pull him up to look at you. His eyes seem a little glossy as if a million of tears were trying to fall at the same time. You smile kindly, taking his glasses off and spreading your arms to receive him in them.
He doubts, but ultimately succumbs to your hug. Ryuken’s forehead rests on your shoulder, and your palm traces circles over his back. You are worried about ruining his white coat with just your touch, but it isn’t important now.
“It’s ok… you can marry me” you suddenly say, surprising him -and frankly yourself-. “What?” he asks, completely dumbfounded.
You laugh lovingly. “I’m an Eicht Quincy… I’m all you need. Let’s get married, let’s give them what they want. I will let you be completely free, you don’t really need to act like a husb-“
He shuts you up with an unexpected, needy kiss. With eyes big as the moon, you let him kiss you and soon your lids fall over them. You enjoy the interaction, the wet tongue of many years of lust…
He doesn’t stop kissing you, and blindly opens the door behind you. None of you know exactly if that was his room or not, but both get inside.
“I- Let’s do it” Ryuken says, resting his forehead on yours. You still have his glasses on your hands, trying not to crush them. You wonder what is he saying… let’s do what?
“Getting married or you fucking me?” you ask, shamelessly. It makes him subtly laugh, you have always been that way with him, since those academy years where he used to “die” for his cousin Masaki.
A smirk on his lips means both, and you let his skilful doctor hands to peel your dress off your body.
“Both?” you ask, once you fall back into a big bed that you assume is for the guests.
“Is it too bad if we have our wedding night before the wedding?” Ryuuken whispers, letting you undress him.
His pale lips travel from the commissure of your lips to your neck; the scent of his skin, as pure as always, invades you. It strikes you with the sweet chocolatey notes of his perfume, and the darkness of his stare now tinted in pure desire. Your legs surrounding his waist, pressing him down harder, joining your sex in wet and hard mixture.
He touches your face when his lips finally unlock from yours. The starcross of his heritage hangs in silver shine from his wrist, metallic reminder of how power can be freeing but also oppressive. A power you delightfully taste by trapping one of the points of the stars with your tongue and into your mouth.
He shivers, and perhaps an out-of-control grunt escapes his throat. “You have always been so tempting, (Name)” he barely murmurs.
“It’s because I’ve always wanted you… but you were too blind to look at me” you recriminate, as he goes down your breasts and bites you hard. It makes you squirm and swear, owning for the second a soft slap on your cheek.
“Don’t talk that way to your future husband” he orders you, turning you around violently. You bury your head on the mattress as Ryuuken pulls you from your hips up. Leaving you on all fours, but with your chest pressed against the bed, he prepares to work you from behind.
You gasp twice. Once for the audacity of turning you around so violently, and two, for the way he acts as you never thought he would.
The white-haired Quincy bends over your curled back, his warm skin against your extra sensitive one. His hand grabbing a full fist of your hair and pulling your head back. “I’ve always wanted you too, let’s keep our bloodline running”.
You smirk looking at him from the side, matching the darkness in which he is immersed in. “Fuck me then, Ryuuken”
No need to tell him to do so, as his white pants go down and his erection nests in between your warm, wet folds. He shivers, his fingers bury in your hips. Ryuuken takes his time to enjoy the embrace of your anatomy without penetrating you right away. He plays with the need of you body, with the way you move in search of his sex invading your insides, stretching you out, filling you…
And only when he is ready to end your suffering is when the tip of his dick dives deep inside your entrance. “Ryuu ~” you mewl, making him spank you hard.
“Shh… it’s almost new year and they will search for us. I don’t want to present my future wife while I fuck her” he grunts, moving in and out of you faster and harder, kissing your back with wet kisses that compete with the sound of his hips slapping yours.
The words “future wife” sound so good as he fucks you, that you wouldn’t mind if someone else saw you being possessed by Ishida Ryuuken right now.
The cross hanging from his wrists hits yours, giving the doctor a good idea… you don’t carry your Quincy power on your hand, but around your neck. And this man will use the silver chain for a better grip. Pulling from it, you feel every link carving marks on your neck, stopping the air from flowing, choking you like probably the “blue” blood does with him… what a beautiful and dark depiction of his suffering.
Fuck the suffering away, Ryuuken…

OKAY BABES *rubs hands together*
lucy & gin + 10
gin & tachi + 23
ultralemon + 35
platonic yosano & naomi or kyouka + 4
hiii beloved <333
lucygin + a kiss along the jawline
Gin is half-asleep, sprawled on top of Lucy as a movie plays on the TV, when the apartment door opens slowly. Lucy perks up, her fingers stilling where they had been carding through Gin’s hair. She knows she has every right to be here—Gin invited her over, and they said their brother was aware. But she still braces herself for a scolding.
Akutagawa steps into the room, and he immediately levels Lucy with a glare. She stares back, because she isn’t going to let herself be intimidated into submission even though she would like her partner’s brother to at least sort of like her. Just because it would make things easier.
Gin stirs, lifting their head slightly. They don’t say anything, but Akutagawa’s gaze drops to look at them. After a moment, as if in response to something Lucy couldn’t hear, he sighs and says, “Very well. Goodnight.”
Then, he turns and trudges away.
Lucy frowns to herself. But before she can dwell on it for too long, Gin adjusts their position. They cup Lucy’s cheek with one hand, then raise their head to place a gentle kiss to her jaw. “Ignore him,” they mumble. “He’s just jealous.”
Lucy giggles. “He still hasn’t made a move on the tiger kitty yet?”
Gin groans, dropping their head back onto Lucy’s stomach. “At this point, I think I need to start focusing my efforts on getting Atsushi-kun to confess. Ryuu is too emotionally constipated to come anywhere close to a confession.”
-
tachigin + a kiss influenced by alcohol
They’re celebrating a mission well done at a mafia-owned bar, because technically neither of them are of legal drinking age, but Gin knows more people who have drank underage than ones who haven’t and laws like that seem trivial when you kill people for a living. Tachihara is on his fourth drink, but he seems to be doing better than Gin is after only two.
Hirotsu and Higuchi both left at some point, leaving Gin alone with Tachihara. Perhaps not the best idea, considering how far they both are from home and the fact that they live in opposite directions, but they can worry about that problem when the time comes.
For now, Gin is glad to sink into the floaty feeling seeping into their bones as a third drink is set in front of them. It’s bright red, reminiscent of blood in the lowlight of the bar, and it’s syrupy sweet at first. The sweetness is followed by a bitter aftertaste, strong alcohol flushing out everything else, and Gin nearly gags on it.
They keep drinking, though.
They stay in the bar with Tachihara until it closes and they’re promptly kicked out. Tachihara shouts a thank you to the bartender over his shoulder as they stumble out into the cool night. The entire world looks as if its been submerged in water, and Gin reaches up towards a streetlight as if it’s a star they could hold in their hands.
Everything looks beautiful like this. Wavy and magical.
Tachihara looks beautiful, too.
It isn’t new information, but Gin’s breath catches in their throat when they look at him. Golden eyes illuminated by earthly starlight, like molten lava Gin wishes they could submerge themself in.
“Gin?” He asks, tilting his head and offering them a goofy smile. “You’re really pretty, you know. You’re like a magnet.”
Gin furrows their eyebrows. “A magnet?”
Tachihara nods, but he doesn’t elaborate. He steps closer, placing his hands on Gin’s shoulders. The warmth of his eyes spills over onto Gin, and they think maybe they know what Tachihara meant by his magnet comment. Gin couldn’t pull away from him right now even if they wanted to. It’s like there’s an invisible force tugging them together.
They reach up to his face, placing a palm against his cheek. His skin is so warm. Gin wants to burrow into him and fall asleep there for a little while.
Instead, they push themself up onto their toes and press their lips to Tachihara’s. His lips part in surprise, so Gin slips their tongue between them. Something in the back of their mind screams at them to run, reminds them that they will regret this in the morning when their thoughts have cleared. But then Tachihara kisses back, wrapping his arms around them and pressing their body flush against his, and every other thought immediately dissipates.
-
ultra lemon + a kiss against a wall
Ranpo’s back hits the wall with a harsh thud. They hardly have even a moment to grin to themself before Kajii’s lips are on theirs, biting down hard enough to break skin. The sour tang of his lemon-y drink lingers on his tongue, mixing with the coppery blood spilling from Ranpo’s split lip.
Ranpo groans into the kiss, throwing their arms around Kajii’s neck in an attempt to drag him even closer. The bricks of the building they’re pressed up against dig uncomfortably into Ranpo’s back, but the heightened adrenaline does wonders transform the pain into some twisted sort of pleasure. They want more, more, more—
Kajii fits one of his legs between Ranpo’s, then pulls back, a trail of spit still connecting their lips. Ranpo stares at it. Everything is so hot.
“What do you want from this?” Kajii asks, just breathy enough that Ranpo can tell it’s taking every ounce of self-control he has to not dive right back in for another kiss.
“Same thing as you.” Ranpo lets his eyes fall shut. “Now kiss me again before I change my mind.”
Kajii obliges without hesitation.
-
yosano & kyouka + a kiss to the top of the head
Kyouka grimaces as Yosano sets her down in the infirmary bed. She hasn’t said a word since she and Atsushi returned to the Agency office, Kyouka cradled in his arms and clutching a wound in her side. Her eyes were wide and wet when Atsushi passed her over, but no tears have fallen.
Yosano brushes her hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. One of her hair ties must have snapped during the fight, because half of her hair is hanging loose. “I’m going to have to look at the injury, okay?”
Kyouka’s reaction is a moment delayed, but she nods and moves her hands aside. Both palms are covered in dark red blood. Yosano winces at the sight. She knows firsthand that such injuries aren’t fun. The easiest solution for this will be to use her ability, but she doesn’t particularly enjoy doing so on Kyouka.
Yosano’s treatments are harsh because it is the only way to ensure her patients do not lose sight of the value of life. Miraculous healing cannot come without consequences, or the price will be one’s own mind.
But Kyouka understands the preciousness of life—both her own and others—in a way many of the others at the Agency do not. And when Yosano meets her gaze, fear shines brightly in her eyes.
Yosano sighs. “Don’t tell the others, but I’m going to give you anesthesia before I treat you. Is that okay?”
Kyouka hesitates, then nods again.
Yosano grabs a towel and presses it over the wound. “Can you hold this in place?”
Kyouka’s hands take the place of Yosano’s, helping to staunch the bleeding. Yosano leans forward and places a soft kiss to the top of Kyouka’s head. “I’ll be back in a moment. Just hold on for a little longer.”

Kissing Lessons
“I need you to teach me to be a gentleman.” Ryuu doesn’t hide anymore. He plants himself in front of Obi, upright and confident in his demand. “I’m going to the Lilias research awards reception this year, and I need to be a credit to the pharmacy.”
Shirayuki slouches further into her chair, watching the tableau over the brim of the leather.
Obi’s wide-eyed, cornered, but at the same time she thinks he might be a bit touched. “Are you sure you don’t want to be asking someone else? Shidan’s been there before.” He pauses, almost certainly dismissing Suzu and Kazaha as alternative role models. “Or Rata Forzeno, he certainly is better at this than I am.”
“He’s up in the mountains, collecting. And Shidan is why- I heard he hides in corners and doesn’t talk to anybody.”
“And that’s not-” Obi struggles, a moment. That sounds like a very accurate description of how Ryuu generally deals with crowds. “And you want to be the center of attention?”
Ryuu recoils. “No! I just want- You’re good with people, and Shirayuki too. I want to make you proud.”
Shirayuki can’t see the look on Obi’s face anymore. “You always do. But I guess we can have a class on party skills, if that’s what you want.”
She’s not going to survive this. She wipes her eyes, then silently sets down her book and creeps toward the exit, only pausing to peek back just before she reaches the door. Her view is blocked by black and gold. “Going somewhere, my lady?” He holds out his hand. “After all, even a pretend party requires a hostess.”
She tries to convey with her eyes alone that she’s going to cry if they do this, and Obi’s say right back that he doesn’t care, he’s not doing this alone. Defeated, she braces her hand on his to pull herself back up to a full stand, and by the time she gets there Obi raises his hand further, tilting it in a way the back of her brain says is a dancing thing. He could be telling her to spin.
She has no idea which way. So she freezes, and Obi laughs. “Okay, so no dancing,” he says, and the relief on Ryuu’s face must match that on her own. “That’s probably not a highlight of the scholars’ reception, anyway. So what is it that you actually want to know?”
“Shidan said that when you arrive, you have to greet the chair of the committee serving as hostess. What do you do? I’m sure they don’t want to hear about research right away.”
“This is Lilias…” Obi says, and Shirayuki elbows him.
“You tell her your name and say good evening, then say it’s a pleasure to be there.” Shirayuki fills in. “Then you bow, just like when we meet with the king.”
“Unless she holds out a hand, then you kiss it. The king doesn’t do that part,” Obi says.
Ryuu wrinkles his nose. “That doesn’t seem very sanitary, for her or for all the guests. What if someone’s sick?”
Obi waves a hand. “Ah, you don’t actually kiss it. Here.” He squares up next to Ryuu, facing Shirayuki, still a little taller than Ryuu but not for much longer. He looks down at Ryuu, and it’s such a delight every time she catches that pride on his face. “We have arrived at the reception. We walk through the front door, and the chair of the committee is there to greet us.” He flips a hand at Shirayuki, cuing her.
“Welcome,” she says, not having any better of an idea what the chair of the research committee would say. Obi’s eyes twinkle at her.
“I’m Ryuu, from the Lilias pharmacy,” he says with only a little prompting from Obi.
“Obi, from the guard,” he adds.
“Sir.” Ryuu interrupts. “You’re Sir Obi.”
Obi’s lips tighten. “Technically,” he agrees. “But that’s not the point.”
“You still should get it right,” Shirayuki says. “It’s your title. You’ve earned it.”
He still looks unimpressed, but they’ll wear him down eventually. “Fine.” She can watch him shift, everything from his face to the way he carries his body suddenly a born courtier. “Sir Obi, from the Lilias guard.” He shifts his feet, ready to bow, waits a second for Ryuu to mimic him, and then raises an eyebrow at Shirayuki.
“Oh!” Her hand shoots out, far from graceful. Obi almost keeps his composure, only the tiniest of snorts escaping, and she narrows her eyes at him. “We are honored by your presence,” she intones, emphasizing every word.
“My lady, the honor is ours.” His right hand brushes the underside of her wrist. It’s a perfectly controlled movement, not too soft and not too firm, but exactly calibrated to hold her steady. It’s humbling, how closely he observes her, how precisely and how completely he knows her. Gracefully he pivots and bends, drawing her hand up in the same motion as his head descends, the two reaching equilibrium with his lips just a breath away from her skin.
Everything stops. It may be only a second he lingers there, but Shirayuki’s heart stops keeping time. She’s felt like this before, in the depths of kisses, in the heart of an embrace, but never from something so innocuous as this. He means nothing by it but a demonstration for Ryuu, and she is debilitated. She wants, and she doesn’t even know what, and when he straightens up again, she mourns.
“See? It’s really just a bow with a close approach, nothing to be afraid of.” Her hand still lies in his, inert and unresisting. When he lets go, she inhales. “Now you try.”
Ryuu bows over her hand just like Obi had, a quick study. Shirayuki’s heart still pounds, but with no new skips and halts. Correlation is not the same as causation, but still she knows it’s only Obi who makes her feel this way.
“That’s it?” Ryuu asks, dropping her hand.
“It is,” she answers, her voice too breathy to be truly normal but she still feels like she’s drowning.
Obi nods, then really looks at her. She knows the exact moment he registers the look on her face. “Good job,” he says to Ryuu, laying a hand on his shoulder. “If she’s blushing you’ve done something right. Definitely do that to the chair, it’ll make her day. We can let my lady get back to her reading, if there was anything else you were worried about.”
They disappear back into the stacks with just a nod of farewell, but she doesn’t pick up her book for a long time.

For the ship ask game:
Thoughts on Homumiko, susahao, asoryuu, and susagina?
YTTD ships what do you think about Ryoko/Sara/Joe, Keishin, Maiple, and Safamaple?
Thanks for the ask :3 And I'm terribly sorry that I'm answering this late
(I may misremember a lot about great ace attorney because I wasn't involved in this game for a while)
Homumiko: it definitely makes sense, they were partners in the past and their attitude toward each other barely changed. They know each other like no one else does, having solved countless mysteries and opened up about personal struggles (thus 10/10). And I kinda like it (7/10), but I'm not the biggest fan of Cholmes so that influenced my opinion a bit (yeah, I'm a bit weird about that)
Susahao: 10/10 both sensibility and compelling. There's admiration, mutual understanding and support, they know each other for a long time so I don't see any drawbacks
Asoryuu: it does make sense for sure, two guys helping each other in time of need: Asogi supporting Ryuu during first trial and then the latter dispelling Kazuma's dark shadow of vengeance when it mattered the most. The trust between them is amazing. But I do have a little problem with Kazuma's motivation, because he didn't tell Ryuu about his mission and his plans in Great Britain. Like there could be a lot of trouble (and there were but for different reasons). So I'll give it 9/10 in making sense. And personally it compels me a bit, but something stops me from loving it. I can't really explain it, maybe it's Kazuma's dark side or him staying in Britain while Ryuu returns to Japan... On the other hand, Ryuu is probably the best person to help Asogi. I just want to give everybody a break for reflection on the past before starting (or rather continuing) relationship. Thus maybe around 8/10
Susagina: sadly, I don't remember their interactions, but they are of same age. I'd say they are compatible as Susato is calm and knowledgeable while Gina is more energetic as far as I remember. Both can be huge dorks. So sensibility is probably 6/10 (once again, I forgot huge chunks of game, so there could be a lot more to them). But I ship Susahao more. Moreover, my own weird experience: at the beginning I thought Gina was around 13-14 years old. I know she's not but still this misconception remains in my brain. So I give it 5/10
Ryoko/Sara/Joe: they have a meaningful relationship in canon, though there are some peculiarities in Sara's attitude towards Joe (judging by Sara's episode, though it's more of her reflecting on the past). Plus, in the beginning, before kidnapping Sara didn't really show too much affection toward Joe (I actually thought she was a bit rude, even in her dialogue options). So probably 7/10. For me Sara's relationship with Joe is purely platonic, so I'd rather ship Ryoko with Joe and Sara is their mutual friend who's as important to them as they are to each other. Thus maybe around 7/10 as well
Keishin: for me it both makes total sense and makes no sense at all. Both are traumatised people that witnessed suffering of each other (and having similar experiences), thus being able to understand each other. But I don't know if they have forgiven the past deeds completely: Keiji did say he hated Shin, albeit without knowing everything; Shin vowed to kill everyone who voted for Kanna, including Keiji. Some time has passed since then, but I don't know if they can bond afterwards. So around 7/10. As for my personal attitude, I want the best for both of them and I think that their relationship is going to be unhealthy. Like, no one in this pair can be the supporter figure, both need to be majorly fixed at the same time. Plus they had serious grudges against each other. Maybe around 6/10, I can see the appeal but not my cup of tea for now. But who knows, maybe I'm being pessimistic and they could pull it off.
Maiple: it makes sense, Mai is the type of person, cheerful and kind, who can help Maple to discover her true feelings. Which she actually tried to do. So sensibility is 10/10. I like this ship overall, but my only complaint is that Maple is phycologically not adult. She's simplified and childishly naive, despite her wanting be in relationship she's not exactly ready for it yet. But after some time yeah, why not? Thus compatibility 8/10.
Safamaple: to be honest, I never thought about it before. But they both are Asunaro members that don't display same cruelty as other floormasters. They totally could communicate outside of death game (or even during it). Right now I'd say 6/10. And my previous remark about Maple's lack of maturity applies here as well. Plus, Safalin is the type of person to use said immaturity (judging by game over with Sara using hallucination device for the third time). Moreover, Maple never was a living creature, only an experimental AI. If we remember Ranger's "Realiser" fate, Safalin can be too cruel, using emotions to her own satisfaction. So no for me, the lowest 3/10. Maple deserves better
#I hope this is coherent#Personal biases sure can cloud my judgement but overall I like almost everything from here

ryuune had a mischievous grin spreading across her features as she races away from uncle kenta, and makes sure to topple over tōya before throwing herself into fushimi's arms, ❝ ━ tousan ! i finally beat kenta-ojiisan ! i made a mistake and gored him with my horns, but i still beat him ! ❞ tōya grumbles before getting up to his feet, leaning into his papa's side, pinching his sister on her thigh. ❝ ━ did mama go out ? i wanted to cuddle before bed.❞ ( just assume they're like ten here )
If anyone were to speak of him having children to look after, he's find himself laughing in their face with a means to harm them for the audacity. He was a monster through and through, a creature of yokai blood and human mingling - his mother, who he doesn't know and his father he doesn't know - a bastard creature made from something he wasn't sure was consensual or wanted. By how he was abandoned to his human grandparents, he wasn't sure at all of his origins but he knew, that he was not someone at that time, to believe himself a bright future like this.
Yet, he grew, though isolated and with a desire for his life to end, he watched his grandparents die and leave him with everything. Then he met Itachi - his wife, his jaguar, his beautiful red moon. It was a crazy thought at times, looking back at his life as he walked the halls of their family home. Long boards, some grooved with claw marks, several paper doors replaced as he could smell the scent of renewed glue. The sights of toys mostly for felines scattered on the edges of the walk way and the sound of laughter. Not just his people, working in high spirits, but, them… Children.
His children.
Offspring of his life, his legacy. Monsters but with pride and with parents that remained without a shadow of a doubt in their wake. To guide them and hold them when they get lost in themselves. It was a state he didn't think he'd ever reach yet he was adoring any moment of it. Ibuki, if he remembers the schedule, was currently at her cram classes, a smart bug, he believed she got from Itachi's want to know everything to the smallest detail. Ryuune, more like Kenta in her mischief, a sparkle of his face in hers as she came barrelling towards him.
Toya, noticed soon enough with a glance as his arm wraps around his most loudest offspring to hold her close and safe. Listening to the telling of her day as Kenta's frame was flopped on the engawa with a thumbs up. Fushimi could only snort, smirking at the state he was in as his moved to nudge his horns upon Ryuune's as his hand rose next to pet her wild mane. "Good job, Ryuu. Besting Kenta will make you the strongest in the Clan. Fight him daily, little beast." His hand lowered soon enough though to greet Toya's head too, a weighted pet of his hair as he thought upon the other's question.
"I was on the lookout for him, myself, Toya." His hand lowered to offer his palm, either to aid in Toya's climbing of his frame to sit upon his hip or shoulder, or to just hold hands. "Let's go find him together, he didn't leave the building tonight." With his children, he began to walk on and down the hall. Following the pull of his chest as always when he sought out his love all this time. "Maybe we can get Oleg to make you both your favourite hot chocolate before bedtime."

lights, camera, kiss
fandom: IDOLiSH7
characters: ryunosuke tsunashi x aya yamamoto (oc)
when aya and ryuu are casted to work on the same project, aya is beyond excited… that is until she reads the script.
commission for @houjichaya ♡
As an actor, it wasn’t uncommon to have to film intimacy and kiss scenes with fellow co-stars. Even someone as reserved and shy as Aya understood the demands of this career— she was a professional after all and it didn’t mean anything except getting the job done.
When she and Ryuu were casted for the same project, her initial reaction was beyond excited because she loved working with him. Unfortunately they didn't get many chances to work together on projects, but this meant that they would get to see each other more often too between rehearsals and filming together. Everything was breezy… that was until Aya was able to read through the script and discovered she would have to film a kiss scene with Ryuu.
This wasn’t the first time she had to kiss a co-star. But usually it was someone she held no feelings towards and was able to maintain professionalism with them. However with Ryuu… it went beyond all of that. It wasn’t even the fact that he was one of her closest friends, but someone she held deep feelings for. There was no way for her to turn her feelings off, but she had no choice. After all, she was a professional and she had a job to do.
“We’re going to start rehearsing with the kiss scene since that one might be a little difficult to get into.”
Just her luck. Of course that was the first scene that the director wanted to rehearse. It made sense— they probably wanted to put their chemistry to the test and what not. But that left her with no time to prepare herself. What if she messed up? What if she wouldn’t be able to perform to his expectations?
‘Stop it. Get a hold of yourself Aya.’ Aya thought to herself. ‘You are a professional. You can do this. Just don’t think much of it.’
“Are you okay, Aya?” Of course Ryuu was quick to pick up on her hesitance, the man looking at her a little concerned.
“Y-Yeah! I’m fine!” Aya squeaked, resisting the urge to cover her face but she embarrassed herself enough already with losing herself in her own thoughts.
Obviously Ryuu didn’t buy her reassurance so easily and took the liberty to pull her aside so they speak privately. “If you’re uncomfortable with the scene then I can talk to the director to write it out or at least postpone rehearsing it.” He offered.
It was just like Ryuu to be so observant and delicate towards others. Aya felt guilty making him worry, especially if she came off as not wanting to do the scene with him. “No no, please don’t worry. I promise I’m fine.”
Their conversation was cut short by the director and producers calling them back to start rehearsals, insisting they were short on time. Aya did her best to clear her mind, reminding herself that this job should not be any different from her previous ones. Besides, they just had to rehearse this once and then move onto the next scene. She could do it.
As they read through the script, she found herself slowly and comfortably getting into character. Ryuu was easy to work with as well— their chemistry from simply reading lines was undeniable and honestly, she found herself having fun.
Then came the kiss— she braced herself for what was to come, her cheeks reddening as Ryuu inched closer to her, his eyes fluttering shut as he closed the distance between their lips. The kiss was sweet and gentle, his fingers gently brushing against her cheek— it was everything she imagined kissing him would feel like. She never wanted this moment to end. But at the same time, she felt she would not be able to do it again without falling harder. Luckily it was just a quick rehearsal and they could move onto the next scene…
“And cut!” The director called, the two pulling away to look back at him as he spoke. “That was good. I just have a few suggestions and want to run the scene one more time.”
Yeah, she was screwed.

Fearless
*Kobo and Ryuu let out infectious laughs as they sneak away back to where the ceremony was held. The torches are still keeping the place illuminated in the night. They collapse into the chairs and share a chaste kiss, slight intoxication on their lips*
*He laughs and pulls away* We should be spending our time with our friends. We did come all the way here for it.
Kobo: Come on, let's just take this moment for ourselves. We worked hard today to pull this all together. And you in a suit is just- *He doesn't even bother trying to finish his sentence before kissing Ryuu again*
*He laughs again into the kiss* You clean pretty well yourself. *Saying this, he plays with Kobo's tie* Though you always dressed pretty professionally. Would be nice to see you in casual clothes once in a while.
Kobo: Hey, it's the tour guide mentality.
Oh, of course. Suit and tie for all your maps?
Kobo: *Grins* Whoa, was that a joke? *His hands slip around Ryuu's waist* Pretty sure I don't need a map to know where all your best spots are~
G-geez, how drunk are you? *He cups Kobo's face and kisses him again* Oh god, very. I can taste the alcohol.
Kobo: Hey, like you said, we're here to have a good time.
Certainly wasn't a good time getting chased around for catching the bouquet. It was like holding a piece of meat whilst being chased by hungry bloodhounds.
Kobo: *His face grows serious all of a sudden, his grip on Ryuu's waist loosening a little*
Kobo? Are you okay?
Kobo: Um...*He takes Ryuu's hands in his own and pulls him up to the ceremony's arch* ...You um...I...So, it's like this...I just, um...
Kobo you're making me nervous, what's going on?
Kobo: *He feels his body heating up, but his hands feel cold.* R-Ryuu...you, um, you're like...so cool.
Um...thanks?
Kobo: A-and, like...my life is so much better with you in it. Like...I've never wanted to be around someone the way I've wanted to be around you. You're like...a...a magnet. I just keep getting pulled in further towards you. Even if I've not always been able to do right by you, even if my anger sometimes got the better of me...*His hands start to tremble* You've never left me. I just...I've never felt so lucky.
O-oh, well it's kind of my thing...bringing luck to others.
Kobo: Your talent has nothing to do with it. It's all about you. *He gently squeezes Ryuu's hands* You are the best thing about the world. I'd do anything to make you happy. I'd give it all up if it meant you were safe and had life you wanted because, to me, you deserve everything you want.
*Ryuu lets out a breath* This is all really deep stuff. What's brought it all on?
Kobo: ...Nagata Ryuu, I love you. I love you more than anything in this world. I don't ever want to stop loving you. I want to be with you...all the time. For the rest of my life.
The...rest of you life?
Kobo: ...*He drops onto one knee and bring out a small ring box from his suit jacket's pocket. Inside is a gold ring with a four-leaved clover, akin to the green one he got Ryuu for his birthday many years ago.* ...Nagata Ryuu. The love of my life...will you marry me?
...
*The air is still. The once barely-audible party in the distance has become impossible to register. All of Ryuu's focus is on the ring in front of him. The nervous eyes of the man on one knee. The word comes out so naturally he doesn't even need to think about it*
...yes.
Kobo: ...yes?
Yes! Absolutely yes! *Kobo leaps up onto his feet and scoops Ryuu into his arms and spins him around. The two kiss and smile and laugh giddily, letting this moment soak into their memories for a while. The realisation hits Ryuu*
Oh my god, we can't tell anyone about this!
Kobo: What? Why not?
It's Kizakura...Graves...it's Naomi-san's and Karma-san's wedding. We can't take away the focus by revealing you just proposed! It's like...disrespectful! (And a little tacky...)
Kobo: Ah, shit. You're totally right...hehe. Good thing I didn't do it in front of everyone.
Pfft! No kidding...
It's alright. We'll tell them all another time. Maybe leave out where you proposed. Give them their time to have their moment. *He takes Kobo's hand* Then we can tell everyone.
Kobo: Sounds good to me. *He kisses Ryuu's forehead* The party is kind of starting to die down anyway now that it's late. *He grins* Which means we should probably head back before they realise we slipped away.
You're right...*He kisses Kobo again* I love you, Kobo.
Kobo: *Grins* Took you long enough to drop the honorific.
Shut up...
Kobo: I'm only teasing. Come on, let's head back...I got plans for the night I need to complete.
Plans? Like what?
Kobo: *His grin turns mischievous* Oh...don't you worry. I just have an arrangement with Yokozawa I need to see to...

hiroji might have fooled ryuu into thinking that they have superspeed. everything is always at 110% with him — expressions changing, thoughts jumping from one to another, literally tearing himself apart to reach a first aid kit that was maybe two yards away. for what ? to show off ? what reason could he possibly have to do all of that when it's just ryuu watching him ? ryuu stretches his arms behind him, leaning back on his palms as hiroji … as hiroji panics, he supposes. something churns in his stomach, perturbed and endeared at the same time.
a first aid kit ( which he swears looks older than he is ) is set between the two of them, though ryuu doesn't make a move towards it. hiroji apologizes, and it sounds all wrong coming out of his mouth. the person in front of him isn't honest, isn't contrite. and yet. and yet. ryuu tilts his head. tries to make sense of this story that makes it sound like hiroji was in a thousand places at once. if anyone could do it, it would be him.
if anyone could end up hurt and bloodied in an attempt to find ryuu, it would be hiroji.
" okay, " he says finally, because anything else would make his tongue feel too heavy in his mouth. ryuu ducks his head, hair curtaining around his face, as he snaps the first aid kit open and pulls out a couple things that they can make do with. " busy night, huh ? did you help your friend ? hold still, this is going to sting. " he cleans and bandages the cut as gently and quickly as he can, in case security was a real danger. " good as new. "
ryuu occupies himself with packing the kit again, though he does pocket a few of the items that he can get use out of later. no one's going to miss it anyway. " you found me. we'll stay. is this hallway special to you or are you interested in getting back to the party ? i misplaced my mask, and i didn't see yours fall out of the closet with you. "
Ryuu lets him go and it feels like something might break if he does. Don't let me go — I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I tried! I tried so hard to find you, to get back to you, I'm so sorry. Don't let me go, don't let me — Hiroji bites down on the sudden panic in his chest. All of this for nothing — losing Kenji's jacket or getting his ass kicked by a Cerberus agent — just to leave the second he finally finds Ryuu. That feeling of breaking grows, a hairline crack that splits. He quickly smiles, shaking his head. No mask, that's long since been lost, just worn and torn at the edges. "No, we — we can't go yet! C'mon! You just found me — Look, I'm sure there's something in here that we can use! B-besides, you don't like my look? I was going for sexy. This isn't sexy?"
He gets to his feet and turns to the closet. There had to be something in there, right? He takes a step and jumps — the world splitting for a second and then suddenly, there he is again. He looks through the shelves, pushing and shoving things around before he finds what he's looking for. "Ha! I knew it. Here's one." He hauls out the plastic box and in the blink of an eye, reappears and sets it in front of Ryuu before plopping down once more. "What's wrong with ... staying right here? Just stay. Please. I ... I'm sorry about tonight but it's not over yet? I won't leave again." He hates how it feels like a plea — hates it more that he feels like he can't read Ryuu's reaction.
Hiroji says a lot of things — lies is tattooed right across the knuckles that reach out for Ryuu, that want to hold onto him and not let go. His hand settles for his knee. He feels so far away from him. God, he wants to fix that. For all his lies, however, there are only two people who he can't lie to. ( refuses to lie to. ) His brother — and Ryuu. "It was ... stupid but a friend needed help and then .. I ran into someone I knew and well, uh, let's just say that if security is hounding these halls then we'll have to leave pretty quick because they did see my face. The blood is ... well, this is theirs. Guy tried to stop me and I ... had to find you. I wasn't going to let him stop me from doing that."
#bleh im not happy abt this reply but . alas#gay people <3#fatalled#* THANATOS / THREADS.#* EVENT / ONE.

Just watched Belle by Mamoru Hosoda, and I really liked it! I think it’s one of my favourites by him, on par with Wolf Children for me. (spoilers below)
It was a very fresh take on the Beauty and the Beast mythos imo, and I really like how the relationship between Belle/Suzu and Ryuu/Kei was actually platonic, based on shared empathetic pain that helped them relate to each other. It’s almost set up as if it’s going to romantic briefly when the old friends of her mom accuse her of being in love when she’s thinking about Ryuu and tell her to write a love song for him, but then that just gets subverted. Hints that Suzu likes Shinobu had already been sprinkled into the story before that point, and it’s also pretty apparent that Shinobu isn’t Ryuu by then since Shinobu acts completely differently. And when suzu starts composing her ”love song” for Ryuu it’s made very clear that her song is just as much about herself, and how she pulls away from people and hides her true feelings from other people (including a direct reference to her brushing off Shinobu’s concerns for her earlier), as it is about Ryuu. Almost like it’s a love song to herself and the parts of herself that she sees in him. The reason she’s drawn to him is because she can sense a kindred spirit. And when she sings as herself instead of as Belle to try and convince Kei to open up to the real her, the song she chooses is a love song too in a way, but it isn’t just about Kei, it’s also about her feelings towards her mom. In both cases it’s not about romantic love, they're expressions of self/familial love as their symbolic overtones. I like how most of the love in the movie is not romance, instead involving a more encompassing portrayal of love and yearning and grief that can apply to all sorts of relationships. Even the thing between Suzu and Shinobu is left up in the air by the end. They’re basically at the point where Suzu is finally willing to open herself up to others and Shinobu is glad that they can finally have an honest relationship whether it develops into something more or not, and that’s what matters.
I also liked how it drew direct parallels between the "beauty" and the "beast". Usually in this type of story the ugly shell of the beast is cast away to show the secret beauty underneath while the beauty starts out beautiful and stays that way, but in this case the one who undergoes the climactic transformation is Belle. She willingly sheds her carefully constructed mask to show her true normal self for the sake of being open with someone she cares about. I really like that take on the dynamic.
Smaller things of note: I like how it’s not spelled out to the viewer who in real life is which characters in the game. It’s all left to the viewer to piece together, with at most some background hints/clues. Like the props they use or their icons. Some are less obvious but I’ve developed my own speculations about those ones (for example: Kei’s father’s behaviour is eerily similar to the blond controlling asshole in U, and Peggy Sue has the same kind of hairstyle as the girl that Suzu’s mother saved. I don’t think there’s any proof or confirmation of those things being connected or on purpose, but that’s my theory on those characters).
The main nitpicks I have are 1) a group of adult women letting a highschool girl travel across country to confront an abusive adult man (even if it turned out that Shinobu had been there too keeping an eye on her) is just a terrible idea regardless of whether Suzu insisted on it or not, but considering everything the father had done was publicly broadcasted I’m guessing maybe they figured he’d have to be stupid to seriously harm someone he doesn’t have control over or custody of. Still worthy of criticism, but I liked the rest of the movie enough that I’m willing to let it go and just maintain suspension of disbelief there. and 2) I wish the movie had expanded more on Suzu’s relationship with her dad, but I still like what we got at least.
And of course, the animation and visuals were amazing, including the 3D parts. Typical of a Mamoru Hosoda/Studio Chizu film lol. Anyway, I enjoyed it!
#Belle#Mamoru Hosoda#belle: the dragon and the freckled princess#anime thoughts#also I think Kei's brother was autistic? Which I don't think I've seen in an anime before#especially not a case where it's just an aspect of his character and not the focus of the story at all or even brought up#as something particularly noteworthy#I'm guessing autistic was the intended portrayal at least it's never directly stated#either way I thought that was cool#I'm probably biased because I love when platonic love gets a spotlight over romantic love but oh well I like what I like lol#oh also the music absolutely slapped#loved it

Nobody actually told Obi what exactly happened to make Shirayuki leave Tanbarun (now on AO3)
Leave it to Sarah to know the exact “right to the good part” scenario I needed to scratch my writing itch. This one’s for you @claudeng80 :) Set before Eisetsu arc when Shirayuki, Obi and Ryuu are still travelling on the road together.
Dinner starts off as a simple affair. Miss cooks up half the dishes while Obi settles the other half in the in-built kitchen of a decidedly-not-small room they’ve found themselves in (wonders what accommodation one affords with all that sweet Wisteria cash; they are delegates after all). A trade-off that they’d agreed on so that they could cook and have dinner in the same space they would reside for the night - instead of going down to the common area. Ryuu sets the table as best he can.
Eventually, they settle down to eat. The conversation steers towards Miss’ early days in the pharmacy - Ryuu still a boy who hid under tables, a fact present-Ryuu did not appreciate being brought up - and Miss still desperately trying to find her footing in a foreign land. It’s new to Obi, to hear of their endeavours before his arrival to Clarines, and he finds himself enjoying the journey down memory lane. That is, until Miss drops a wayward comment that catches the both of them off guard.
So casual, she says, “It’s so funny. And to think I’d almost had to live my life as Raj’s concubine.”
Ryuu freezes and his eyes dart over to Obi. Similarly, Obi’s glass has paused over his lips. It feels like the air in the room has been abruptly sucked out. The word ‘concubine’ rings in his ears as Miss continues to laugh between bites.
“What do you mean concubine?” Obi asks carefully. He’d thought she’d been invited to the palace to be a princess, or perhaps a lady-in-waiting. To be seen, not...
“Oh yes,” Miss shares, something almost fond lining her lips. “Raj and Sakaki-san had pretty wild ideas back then. Sent me poisoned apples and everything.”
“Miss-what?”
Shirayuki looks up, only now noticing Obi’s tone. Next to him, Ryuu lowers his utensils down and places them on either side of his plate. Obi immediately fixates on Miss’ form. His eyes dart down to her arms, searching for any scars, mind desperately rifling through memories of when they first met, whether she had been constantly wearing long sleeves. She’d worn leggings all this while hasn’t she? Obi resists the urge to bend down to look under the table.
“Oh,” Miss starts again, startling Obi’s gaze back to hers. “Oh! He didn’t get to me- I mean, he did. It’s a funny story actually- Zen ended up being the one eating said apple and getting poisoned. I’d only followed to get the antidote, but thankfully-” she glances at Ryuu, “Zen has had quite a resistance against most poisons, and he was fine.”
The sentence is met with tense silence. Ryuu seems to be staring at his plate as if the peas could conjure up a response. A part of Obi wants to shake the boy and tell him not to worry, to crack a joke to diffuse the air. The other part is blinded by red hot anger. The urge to retrieve his knives and march right up to Tanbarun to commit regicide thrums wildly in his temples.
Friend of the Crown? What on earth was Master thinking - working with someone like that. What on earth was he thinking? He’d spent every afternoon for a month, watching, not knowing, as the two - kidnapper and concubine-to-be - traipsed through the gardens of Tanbarun castle, sat next to each other for hours in the libraries. He’d carried the man on his fucking shoulders.
A touch to his hands and his eyes fly open. Miss’s hand is placed on his, on both of their hands. A small smile plays at her lips. Obi turns to Ryuu. The boy looks frustrated enough to cry.
Miss gives a small laugh. “Hey, it’s over alright? I didn’t bring it up to see you guys upset. It was just in passing. And look, we’re all here now. Royal delegates, serving the Wisteria Crown for the greater good of her people!”
Miss glances up at him, then flicks her gaze at Ryuu. Obi suddenly remembers how distraught Ryuu was when they returned to Clarines after their visit to Tanbarun, having only received news that Miss had been kidnapped. He also remembers the fear in his eyes when both he and Shirayuki succumbed to the then-Lyrias disease.
Obi sighs.
His hand reaches out to ruffle Ryuu’s hair. “Yeah,” Obi says, “Miss wouldn’t let something like that get her down. She’s strong, isn’t she, Little Ryuu?”
Ryuu stares up at him, unshed tears, his gaze darting between the both of them. Obi gives him his best reassuring smile; he knows Miss does too, even if he doesn’t look at her.
The boy sniffs. “Yeah- she is. Yeah.”
--------
Later when the plates are cleared and Ryuu has fallen asleep, exhausted from the additional emotional tirade he had earlier, Obi finds Miss by the window. She sits with her feet propped on the sill, arms wrapped around her knees, gaze focused on the distant horizon. The moon is out, deciding to grace Miss in all the splendour and glow her countenance deserves. If Miss thinks he looks good by the firelight, then it should be of no consequence for him to say-
“You look good in the moonlight, Miss,” Obi tells her, holding out a cup of tea and sitting down by her. Miss accepts the drink with a smile before looking out again. She is quiet - more so than usual. Obi sips his tea and waits.
She thumbs at the rim of the cup, looks down, then up at him. With a sheepish smile, she says, “I wonder if that’s something I might have heard from...men...if…”
She trails off, bringing the cup to her lips, the picture of grace and relief. Obi, on the other hand, is struck frozen for the second time this evening. That’s not what he meant. That’s not what he meant.
“Miss-”
“I know, I’m sorry,” Miss rushes out. “That wasn’t fair- it’s just- it’s my fault, I’d brought it up. I don’t mean to say that you’re like any of them- I don’t-”
Miss breathes, a shaky exhale. Obi watches as she struggles with something bigger than her, bigger than the both of them. It’s something more immense than even the distance between two countries, if he’s honest. His heart pulls toward her; the burden she has been carrying for almost two years - the shame, the fear - feelings he has no way of possibly understanding in this lifetime. He aches to reach out for her, but he’s not sure- in that moment, he rehashes every single touch between the two of them. Belatedly, he also finally understands why she’d run when Master kissed her.
“It’s alright,” he murmurs, an assurance that falls flat in the space between them. Miss hums in response, forcing out a smile at him in apology. And- Obi doesn’t want that. How many smiles has she hidden behind? Sweet words that fall from her lips - not just to him, but to the very people who’d wanted to kidnap her, to turn her into an object of possession, to reduce her brilliant mind and her wonderful soul and the endlessly faith-bearing light in her eyes into a mere ornament to be gawked at, prodded until nothing is left. What has he been doing? What have they all been doing?
Obi places his mug down on the table before sidling up to the sill, back to the scenery, hands clasped in front of him. He notices Miss is looking at him curiously. Obi sets his gaze on the ceiling, tracing the cracks in the concrete. He doesn’t do this- doesn’t offer more than platitudes to soothe, doesn’t give others more than he should, more than he can spare another human being. But- he thinks of the broken smile on Miss’ face-
“I’d almost lost my life once,” Obi tells the ceiling. “Thought myself hot shit and went around accepting jobs that were clearly beyond my pay grade. Risked my life because I’d thought it a resource to be utilized when needed - as long as it puts bread on the table, money in my pocket.”
Obi turns down and gives Miss a wan smile. “And it’s funny, because that was me when I met you. You, with all your incredible courage, this red-haired girl who’d walked forward in face of an arrow shot at her. Who’d saved an entire colony in face of a disease no one knew. Who’d jumped off a tower. Who’d walked straight back into the place she’d been running from, head held high, into the den of the very person who’d deigned her an object.
Miss flinches at this. And Obi aches.
“And-” Obi pauses. Breathes. “So much of me just wants to ride down the South back to Tanbarun, go up to Raj’s door and wrangle his neck - him and Sakaki both. But beyond that, Miss-”
Obi stares at her, willing the words, “You are beyond what anyone says of you, beyond whatever value anyone places on you. You’re not some object that someone just picks up and calls their own. Because whatever that’s in there,” Obi jabs his thumb against his chest, “it’s not something that can be assigned by anyone else. You are your own person, Miss. You belong to you. And it’s this you who has toppled boundaries, created antidotes, you and your brilliant mind, and your wonderful soul and everything that is you.
“And-” Obi wrenches his gaze from her, hand coming up to push down on his shoulder. “I can’t imagine myself without you. I’ve changed, because of you. Myself and many other people you’ve met in Clarines - Little Ryuu, too. So please-
“Don’t think you are anything less than who you have made yourself to be. Don’t let anything cause that- not Raj, not Master, not Izana, not even me. You are yours, Miss.”
Obi says it quietly, a whisper taken by the wind into the meadows ahead of them. But he knows Miss hears it all the same. Obi lets the words take up the silence, let them take root. He hopes, desperately, that in between the awkward cadence and messy phrasing, Miss may find some comfort in them. An unspoken assurance that he is on her side - always have, and always will be.
Sneaking a glance at her, Obi is startled to find Miss’ head buried in her knees, shoulder shaking.
He jumps up and immediately frets. “M-miss, ahh- I didn’t mean to make you upset! I’m sorr-”
In an instant, Obi’s hand is enclosed between both of hers, warmth effusing through skin. A warbled laugh escapes her and she looks up from her knees up at him. Arrested by the tears in her eyes, Obi watches as she smiles that broken smile again - only this time, he knows it isn’t forced. She brings his hand close to her, and places the back of it against her forehead. Obi’s hand twitches, almost aching to cup her face and rub the tears trickling down - but clearly Miss is having a moment as she closes her eyes and breathes.
“Thank you, Obi,” Miss tells him, words entangling around his fingers. “It never gets easier- I don’t think it will, but-”
She takes his hand and cups it against her cheek anyway, collapsing all his walls. “You, being here. You remind me that I’m worth more.”
He can’t resist his fingers running across the apples of her cheekbones. He wipes away every tear that falls and bends down close, leaning his forehead against hers. There are no words to describe the monument of a woman before him now, and as he draws strength from this little form of comfort he’s offered, he only hopes she receives the same.
It will not be easy, probably never will, as Miss says.
But Obi will be damned if she ever faces it alone again.

Babysitting with Tsukishima Kei
As with most everything I write, this is pretty much entirely self-indulgent 😅 But I don’t mind writing for other characters, if you’d like!
Haikyū!! Masterlist
Pairing: Tsukishima Kei x Gender Neutral! Reader
Warnings: Children, soft Kei.
Tsukishima hated this so much. With a large palm pressed to his head, he let out a quiet groan. He was in college. He was the equivalent of a child.
But how could he not fall in love with the sight of you interacting with these kids?
It started out as your boyfriend accompanying you to babysit your cousins four kids. First, he’d given you a firm ‘no,’ before pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose and returning his eyes to his notes. Though, that same night, after you’d taken care of him, massaging his shoulders when he grew to tense, washing his hair in the shower, cleaning his dirtied glasses for him, gently massaging his scalp while you ran your towel through it... Well, after you’d been the epitome of the perfect human being to him, he begrudgingly caved.
The oldest of the kids was a nine-year-old girl who had enough of an attitude to give your boyfriend a run for his money. The second was another girl, though she was only three and one of the most amusing kids you’d met, consistently trying to hand Kei a plate of ‘food,’ only to get mad and stomp her feet, when he didn’t play along, the way she wanted. The third child was a little two-year-old boy, who did anything and everything that would cause you and Kei trouble (he’d attempted to break the T.V. with a toy broom, twice now.) And the youngest was another little boy, not even a year old, yet; he was the calmest of the bunch, though that was a given.
Your cousin was off to a wedding and stated that she and her husband wouldn’t be back for a while.
Go figure, Kei silently complained, watching the way the kids wreaked havoc about the room. It looked like a damn circus had been let run rampant through the home. It was eleven o’clock, why weren’t these kids tired, yet?
Watching you chase these kids around was pretty amusing, though. This wasn’t your first time babysitting them and it showed.
Kei knew he wasn’t being of much help, simply doing his best to keep the three-year-girl, Setsuko, entertained. And by extension, he kept the nine-year-old with the crush on him, Mitsuki, entertained as well. Meanwhile, you took care of the baby boys. The youngest, Jirou, was stationed in your arms, eyes heavy as he sleepily took the bottle you fed him, and the second-to-youngest, Ryuu, clawed at your calf, wanting up into your arms, as well.
All of the kids were sleepy, though you’d warned Kei earlier that kids never wanted to sleep when they had babysitters. They may be exhausted, but unless you could get them to settle down long enough for sleep to take over, they’d be up, all night.
Looking away from Jirou, your eyes lock onto Kei, who is sitting there, now with a dinosaur toy at hand, playing some type of game with the two little girls, who had probably pulled the dinosaurs out of their brother’s room to impress the older man (who had refused to take off his dinosaur hoodie since he got here.) Though you’d be an idiot not to catch how often adoring eyes shifted to you. Even if he might deny it, anyone could tell that he looked at you as if you had hung the stars. Catching his eyes, his soft smile is replaced by a snarky mouthing - though you can’t quite focus on his words.
Instead, you were focused on how sweetly he played with the kids and how gentle he was when he spoke to them. Despite his hesitancy to come, he was enjoying himself. It made you wonder if there would ever be a family in the cards for you two.
It wasn’t long before you were taking Jirou to put him to sleep, Ryuu replacing the infant in your arms, not even a few moments after you’d gotten the younger to sleep. Turning on the baby monitor, you shut off the light and pull the door closed behind you, joining Kei in the living room, once again. Though, he was apparently a few steps ahead of you in your plans to settle the kids down.
After having seemingly convinced the girls to watch a movie, they were both off to get in pajamas, your tall middle blocker boyfriend walking around the room and collecting some of the toys to toss them into their respective bins. Smiling to yourself, you move to prepare the couch, tossing a few blankets on for all of you, before placing Ryuu down and walking to turn the T.V. on to play a movie.
The two girls come racing back in, in fits of giggles while they do, quickly jumping onto the couch to get comfortable, both you and Kei sitting down with them. Mitsuki was on one side of Kei, Setsuko seated in between you both, and Ryuu practically on top of you.
And one by one, the three began to fall asleep. First it was Setsuko, and shortly after was Mitsuki, who Kei promptly carried to their respective beds, as well. While he was tucking them in, you managed to get Ryuu to sleep, gently lifting him in your arms to take him to his bed. While in the hallway that held the doors to the children’s bedrooms, you found Kei gently closing the door to Mitsuki’s room.
Meeting you in the hallway, he couldn’t help but blink owlishly. A tired expression painted both of your faces, you were putting children to bed, your clothes slightly askew from a long day and the rambunctious kids tugging on them... It felt so domestic.
Kei hadn’t ever been one to really want kids or a family. The domestic lifestyle just hadn’t seemed for him. But here he was, just wanting to see you smile and to have his own kids with you. No matter whether they were biological or adopted, he just knew he wanted to see this everyday.
Kei silently stands in the doorway, while you tuck Ryuu into his bed, before turning towards your boyfriend. He outstretches a hand for you to take, and once you do, he gently leads you out of the room.
“After college.” he speaks. Though he doesn’t say anything more, guiding you to the couch to lay with him, you know what he means.
“After college,” you quietly confirm, face tucked into his chest, whilst you lay on top of him.
While your eyes droop and you find yourself drifting to sleep, Kei stares at the ceiling, trying to fight the smile threatening to emerge. Because all he could think about was coming home to you and a family, now.
