listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded mfer happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.

I get why people headcanon that Trucy would call Edgeworth "Uncle Miles" because it represents how close he is to Nick and Trucy and how he's basically part of the family etc. HOWEVER I cannot help but imagine the shock and horror of passersby who hear Trucy call one man "uncle" and one "daddy" as they watch Nick and Miles interact lovingly in public and come to the conclusion that Nick is openly cheating on his spouse with his spouse's brother.

In Regards To Your 2024 Summary:

Holy shit it’s been another year????? The hell?????

Also! Your art style is gorgeous and that being found in 2023 and then refined throughout late 2023 and the entirety of 2024 really shows, as does your growth in panel layouts, perspective, and — as you said — experimentation. If you ever post your animation or video game art I’m looking forward to it.

As cheesy as it sounds, being able to laugh at funny comics and look at all the details of your art really made my 2024 brighter, even when things were hard. Including looking at your older art— it doesn’t need to be new to be enjoyable! I’m glad your art is well loved and it’s a privilege to have been here since the (near) beginning. I hope you take care of yourself in 2025 and beyond!

Thank you so much for keeping up with my art journey throughout these last two years! Two years!!! I am baffled at how that feels both too long and too short!

Admittedly, my art summary didn't manage to capture the fact that I did a lot of comic layouts that I'm really proud of. I also drew more backgrounds and made some very detailed works (*Dungeon Meshi spoilers for these examples*).

The growth is lot more evident when comparing my 'best' comics of 2023 to 2024:

Sometimes the growth is vertical, sometimes it is horizontal - and damn, sometimes it goes out of sight into the Z-plane. But it is always happening!

DPXDC Idea: Mother of Monsters Dan(yal)

Specifically Fem!Dan because I made this in mind with my Fem Danyal Au bUT. The best part about Dan is that I get to play dress up with her, and Fem Dark Dany is gonna go by Layal (pronounced lae-el) because it means "the nights" and it sounds similar to Danyal, and I think she'd choose that name to mock Dany. ANYWAYS

Mother of Monsters Danyal. She may be evil but she's an Al Ghul at her core (even with vlad's soul merged with hers - however, considering that Layal looks and sounds like Dany, she considers that soul to be the more dominant one.) and loves animals. And she might be heartless, but she adores the monsters of the infinite realms.

Mother of Monsters Layal who hates everyone but utterly dotes and adores on every manner of beast she comes across. Stealing the eggs and infant young beasts of the Infinite Realms to raise as her own because she wanted them. Her own island full of monsters, a monstrous menagerie of her own. She steals most often from poachers or exotic pet keepers and other menageries -- the full grown beasties can keep their young.

And with every monster she raises, she can shapeshift their features onto herself, allowing her to change her shape from humanish to any matter of monster or hybrid creature. She calls herself their mother, and them her children. Her precious little babies, capable of incredible mass destruction and mayhem.

From little griffins the size of kittens, to stymphalian vulture chicks, and leviathan young hatching from eggs the size of her pinkie, to creatures native of the ghost zone that didn't even have names in the living realm. There really wasn't a limit to what or who she would take in and she didn't limit herself to any form of mythology. If they were beasts and they were unwanted, she wanted them. And as such, amassed her own mini army of "children" willing to listen to her any command.

Earth doesn't know what hit it when she attacks them.

There are many monstrous forms she could take on, the first one I've thought of is a combination of various serpentine/reptilian features. The body of a naga -- her lower half long and serpentine, her upper still human -- with spiked fins connecting from the bottom of her arms to her sides, ever seen Sinbad where Eris goes "you might have seen my likeness on the temple walls" and her arms do that fin thingy? Same concept. Her hands are webbed and taloned, perfect for slicing through the skin of the living, and her teeth are needle-sharp and shark like. Her hair can either be spiny and feathery-like like the spines of a lionfish, or frilled like a frilled-neck lizard. It's perfect for dealing and doting on her reptilian and amphibian-inclined darlings.

I'm more of a fan of aus where Dan is a sibling of Danny's rather than their kid, so Layal's redemption(..?? probation?) proceeds with her legally becoming Danyal's "twin" sister, who had been lost to the foster system before the Fentons adopted Dany, and was only recently reunited with her. The two of them look so alike that the lie is easy to take root and spread.

Layal is very indignant to the fact that she's now ten years in the past and has to restart her menagerie all over again. Do you know how much blood and sweat went into raising those children? How dare you separate them from their mummy. Although she'll admit she does miss their juvenile years, so she won't mind (too much) needing to raising them again. Dany is helping her retrieve all of them though, dammit.

long story short: epic the musical's "Scylla" has a CHOKEHOLD on me and this is the result of it

Unlike her Dan counterpart, Layal's voice is dancing and sirenic. It's purposely alluring and motherly, in order to lure people into a false sense of security until she feeds them to her "children." Echidna doesn't have shit on her. She almost seems friendly and reasonable, until you get too close and realize it was all an act and she drops it to metaphorically swallow you whole. She's like an anglerfish that way. She and Dany both sound like Scylla from Epic.

Some au stuff... mostly an exploration of 3s character -- what if they were born in a more loving family?

Theyre more happy and mentally stable (relatively), thats for sure.

The au has them being born as a sibling to @pastille-pain's version of Agent 3/Cap3, raised with love and care. They have a good childhood until their sibling has their Canon Event wjdjej

And then they are a little (turning big) thing that is so full of anger towards the world. Unlike main interp 3, they do not blame themself for the bad things that happen to them outside of their control. They are also way more proactive about living a good life that they want. No wallowing in self-pity. This squid wants to fight. And thats why their colors become a very angry orange.

The au mostly explores the sibling dynamic between the two 3s, how they were once so close, grew apart (due to the Incident), my 3s desire to protect and reconnect with their sibling, and eventual reunion in Splat3. They become Neo3 instead of the original. Compared to main interp, this one has less blood on their hands. But has the fury to match.

What keeps them as an interp of my 3 is this...desire of theirs to protect others to the point of self-destruction. This eternal vigilance, this desire to make the world a better place, their own dreams be damned. This version of them knows how to balance these desires relative to how main3 does it (they dont). Still, just changing one part of their backstory has already shifted them a LOT huh

To me, Machete kind of has the energy of a secondary villain/coldhearted side character in someone else's story that a lot of fans latch onto, moreso than the protagonist. Question is, would he be the villain in anyone's story?

Why, thank you! I'm actually glad to hear he gives off that vibe. I don't think he set out to become a villain but a lot of people certainly view him as one.

their favorite pet names for you. fem. reader. feat. leon, luis, ashley, ada.

leon —

very traditional. he likes the classic pet names the most: baby, sweetheart, darling are just a few of his favorites. he likes the sappiness behind the simplicity. and the way you light up when he addresses you as such. depending on his mood, he’ll even whip out some eye rollers to tease you with (honeybun, lovebug, mama). this is especially true when he wants to distract you and/or snatch your attention from what you’re doing. leon never uses pet names to demean you, however, and would instead use your actual name/nickname during serious circumstances.

luis —

very romantic, very suave. he calls you by nearly every affection in the book, should you manage to keep count. bonita, corazón, cariño, are his go-tos most of the time. luis also uses possessive labels such as mi vida, mi amorcito, mi linda when he’s feeling especially clingy. or when he’s hit with with a spot of jealousy and wishes to let everyone else know you’re taken. (it happens more often than not, as it were). he’s the type who uses pet names to annoy you during arguments only because he thinks he’s slick enough to charm you out of being upset with him. (he is, but that’s not the point). he seldom uses your name/nickname in most cases.

ashley —

cutesy and food oriented. she isn’t shy about calling you the sappiest, fluffiest pet names even around others, which in turn leads to plenty of cooing and awing over your sheepish reactions. sweet pea, pumpkin, cupcake are her faves. she reasons that because she loves sweet things, it only makes sense to call you by their names since she loves you even more. that, and they sound super cute to say. ashley tends to call you by name/nickname just as often though, therefore balancing the sweetness perfectly.

ada —

sultry, on the cusp of leading to more. she’s taciturn and cautious, but reserves just a little bit of herself for you and you alone. kitten, doll, beautiful are her usual choices. always spoken to you in a whisper, like a secret she wants heard by your ears only. ada hates to share, so she can’t have just anyone thinking they can address you the same way she does. she finds herself reserving these pet names during more intimate moments spent together. she uses your name/nickname the majority of the time, but will indulge you in a murmur should you ask politely.
