ive been playing overwatch 2 so much again recently and its making me very nostalgic for the original gaming environment and fanbase. in particular the overwatch 2 maps have really made me miss the old ones. i think the gameplay comp is def better these days but i kinda miss the shitty little torbjorns yelling "come get yer armor" while three symmetras and two hanzos on one team spammed turrets and scatter arrows in the hanamura hallways holding the choke like champs. symmetra support class, no healers, no tanks, lawless city

OH MY GOD A YEAR AGO TODAY .
#thats literally insane what do you mean that crazy day was last year. oh boy ok hastily thought up recap thought time#what that day included:#stupidly going out into july in los angeles heat that morning in jeans and a long sleeve black shirt#in that state of extreme sweatiness: meeting john l of tmbg fame. who id be seeing in concert that exact night#an insane story i have told before but nonetheless incredibly bonkers#later that day when i went out again i (also stupidly) wore sandals that cut up the back of my heels#i toughed it out later and put socks on and the russell brand of cdg high tops on and danced at the concert anyway#wore a full gold glitter suit. was still worried about being unnoticeable#i was too scareddddddd to talk to christi who i saw hanging around before the show which i regret#the best part of the concert and that trip to california was seeing it with my best friend who i finally met in person for that trip#he was dressed as ron and i of course was russ in the glitter suit. my hair did not turn out as magically russ as desired#what else. i was too ough before the concert to eat my combination lunch dinner of panda express something#but i did get overpriced fancy crackers and rosé at the hbowl which was my sparks dinner#ok now let me get to the show itself. i did a review the night of but lets see if there are any details i forgot that i can remember now#like right at the beginning of so may we start there was the audible sound of a glass breaking so awesome. someone was ready to get down#russell getting choked up talking abt their mom taking them to the hollywood bowl as kids i haven't stopped crying#oh yeah all the stupid people in the pool circle (front seats) who didn't care about seeing sparks. youre all going to hell#especially the people that left before the show ended#russell achieved some maximum awooga levels but i may have been picking up on those especially because of the rosé#russell saying to the audience in between singing all that how beautiful it looked with everyone turning the light on their phones#another thing i havent stopped crying over#also got a fun bootleg shirt specific to that show when walking back to the hotel. thank you slightly sketchy guy#that whole night and everything was bonkers insane and wonderful can i Please relive it now. please#like literally this time last year adjusting for time zone i was uhhhhh. probably injuring myself in those stupid sandals#and id do it again! well maybe not but id relive that day again#ok anyway. one year huh

so i got to see sheeno mirin, ahub, r906, utsuP, & hiiragi magnetite. i missed hiiragi kirai by a few minutes but thats okay im more than satisfied with what i did see.

I have a friend who wants to be a geologist and is planing to major in it, any advice for her?
LET'S GO BABYYYYYYY BEST MAJOR
My main advice would be for her to try and practice applying what she's learned out in nature. I was fortunate enough to go to a college where almost every geology class had a field trip and/or field labs, and seeing what we were learning about actually like in front of you is really helpful in geology. Spending time with hand samples is great too if you can't actually go see whatever it is you're studying.
This might be mostly just me learning better by being able to touch shit but idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it won't be unhelpful I would think lol

Me after working a 10.5 hour shift on cinema day
#went in at 11:45 am left at 10:15 pm#there was a pint when literally every single employee minus the two in the hospital was there#we were all getting paid time and a half so Everyone came in early and stayed late to get more money#like. this was $200+ for one shift#everybody was scheduled at least 9 hours and was required to work today#would get written up if you called out#I cleaned 50 theaters#honestly I was reading today all week But it was actually good#*dreading#everyone was In a really good mood?#it felt like field day#a lot of people were kind of over it by the end tho. the one I brought with me to usher for the second half was Miserable and crying by the#end :( she was so happy earlier#we got tips cause a customer saw her crying surrounded by trash#honestly I’m still in a pretty good mood#ooo our manager brought in a shit ton of pizzas and we got free sandwiches from firehouse subs#there were chips and cookies and brownies#went on break and ate Everything#overall a good day#I am very sweaty#moral of the story Pick Up Your Damn Trash When You See A Movie Dont Be An Ass#cinema day#movie#work#job

one of the buyers in my company is so cool like her style and presence is everything and yesterday in my head i was like "omg if this girl were to ever compliment me i'd pass away" and then that same day i was doing something around her and she just stops and looks at me and says "you're so cute" and asks me about my outfit 🤧

I never understand how I’m always so super chill as a person, but also deal with the extreme urge to flee or escape at times - that boils so strong in my blood. Especially when I feel like I am [physically, as in: being in a building or a certain situation] trapped. (It’s inherited, I come from a fam of flee-ers.)

This place I applied for a job at keeps emailing me (automatic emails not a real human being) asking why I haven’t done the tests they asked me to do and I don’t know how to explain to them it’s because their tests feel like psychological warfare
#i did the first like 3 or 4 (there were ELEVEN) before i had to bow out because i was too stressed and my hands were so sweaty i was worrie#my dyshidrotic eczema was going to flare up#what’s the job? PART TIME RETAIL ASSISTANT AT [redacted] CASINO/BETTING SHOP#i was like. i pass this place every day there is no possible way their employees can pass these tests#it started out normal. just having me remember a sequence#but then it got into testing my hand-eye coordination and it was constantly going ‘nerr you’re too slow’ if i took longer than half a secon#to process the information. i was like i’m sorry but this isn’t realistic#this job is retail assistant at a bookie’s not fucking air traffic controller. NO ONE needs to be able to react that fast#i guarantee if this shit flashed on the screen there; the worker’d be calling to the manager like ‘hey guv what does this thing mean?’#and every employee plus one of the people who works in the butcher’s next door plus 70% of the patrons would end up gathered around#the screen puzzling it out for 20+ minutes. then someone who didn’t even leave their slot machine would be like ‘have you checked x?’#and they’d try it and it would work and everyone would go ‘ohhhh’ and disperse#i know because i’ve seen this time and time again#you don’t need to be able to react quickly at any retail job in the uk. in fact it’s probably a detriment#they really had the audacity to call these tests ‘fun games’ they are NOT fun games i am going to break a nail trying to keep up w/ this sh#sidenote how do people type with long nails. i know it’s wrong of me to type using the honest to god tips/ends of my fingers#and not the pads. but i’m a recovering lifelong nail biter and i can’t get out of the habit of typing in this terrible way#i don’t even Have long nails. only my thumb nails have cleared the ends of my fingers thus far. but they feel fucking godawful to type with#i’m fine on phones but my laptop……. i think i’m gonna straight up have to relearn to type#personal
