DVA and Bridgette tonight queen 🤭🫶
IVE BEEN OBSESSED WITH THIS SHIP LATELY OMG
Anyone else obsessed with mekamechanic you should read this fanfiction by The_Big_Oof on AO3
Anyways on to the headcannons :)
CONTAINS: NSFW further below
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
《SFW》
• This ship just works so well because they're both awkward nerds in their own ways like dhdhjsja
• D.Va is obviously the most loser gamer out there (i say this affectionately :3) who's social skills are probably terrible because most of her life is portrayed on social media
• Brigitte is very family-centered and her godfather is literally in Overwatch with her, that must make relationships awkward pffff, also she's just a big buff lady who's very kind-hearted and shy
• They probably got together due to other peoples' influence, Tracer definitely takes most of the credit for getting them together
• Brigitte loves HARD, she's head over heels for D.Va, every action she takes has D.Va in mind, she watches all her streams from start to finish, she puts D.Va's feelings and happiness above her own
• D.Va is centered a bit more around herself due to all the pressure of fans and Busan's expectations of her, she has a harder time remembering that Brigitte has needs and wants aswell, but she gets the hang of it over time
• Their love languages are definitely gift giving and quality time
• Brigitte will buy anything that reminds her of D.Va, bunny plushies, keychains from her favorite games, snacks and drinks that she likes, literally anything
• D.Va just likes being around Brigitte, gaming together in eachothers rooms, fixing up Tokki after a tough mission, working on one of Brigitte's projects, sitting beside eachother at meals, they're always together
• They go on little arcade dates and fast foods dates where they set up picnics in really pretty spots and just eat junk food pffff
• They're also the type of couple to just go on walks through town, where all the shop owners know them by name and ask Brigitte to fix their shit
• D.Va likes being able to carry Brigitte while she's in her mech, she likes being tall and strong :)
• Literally everyone in Overwatch knows they're dating, how can you not when they're like a highschool couple cuddling in the hallways
• Brigitte definitely calls D.Va bunny, kanin (bunny in swedish), and darling
• D.Va calls Brigitte baby and jagiya, idk she doesn't seem like the type of partner to use a lot of pet names
《NSFW》
• They're both switches but Brigitte probably tops more often
• D.Va is the more dominant one though, we support power bottoms on this blog
• Honestly they're too sweet for any kinky shit, D.Va is definitely into toys tho
• She's got a small collection, nothing too insane or huge just a bunch of dildos and vibrators because why not
• There favorite positions are missionary and riding, I use those a lot but like yes
• Kisses during, a lot of kisses and body worship
• Brigitte makes sure that D.Va knows she's fucking beautiful, and D.Va makes sure Brigitte knows that she's pleasing her so good
• I can't think of any more hrhdjks they're too sweet man
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you for reading my mindless rambling shdhjaka
If you like my work liking and reblogging takes like 30 seconds and really helps me as a creator. Requesting ships or other things also really helps me and I like it a lot, so please do!
Have a good day :)

lol nobody follows me for this but I need to get it out of my system, I have never been as pissed about an OW nerf as I am about them nerfing Mercy's GA and I’m gonna rant below the cut and then be DONE.
LOL genuinely cannot fathom what is wrong with the devs. They rebalance Mercy's healing AND self-heal passive to incentivize triaging players under 50% HP, but at the same time, hugely nerf her mobility and bug-out button, therefore punishing her way more heavily for risk-taking or being out of position. It also makes rez even more clunky, and more likely to be a trade-off of Mercy's life for whoever she tries to save.
Mercy has always been hugely dependent on her teammates, both for impact and survivability, but god, this just strips her agency so fucking badly, as well as absolutely gutting the one part of her kit that is fun to play. Yes, Mercy is - WAS very slippery, which was core to her kit as well as the main value she provided. A change like this just ensures that she's free food for Tracer and Genji and Sombra and Winston and DVA and literally anyone else who can follow her through exactly one GA. And god help you if you're trying to use GA to keep up with your DPS; it is now Getting Abandoned Hours. Punished for getting too close, punished for not getting close enough, and they nerf the one survival skill she has - which by the way, was in the place of the self-defense literally every other support has in the way of either burst heal, knockback, or damage. Mercy has NONE of that, and now doesn’t have GA either.
And so far as that goes, I'm extra pissed at big streamers showing videos of her 'tanking a Bob' during Valk, as if that's at all applicable to most players. No team below diamond is ever going to have the situational awareness to stand out in the open in a nice group so Mercy can get max heal boost during a Bob or Visor, and even they did, if Soldier decides to just focus Mercy, which he absolutely always has done and will continue to do, she's fucked.
So they nerf her GA, ALSO nerf her passive healing regen, and all her fancy new "burst" heal is completely useless if you just focus her first, which they helpfully made much easier to do. So. Respawn Simulator pick, I guess.
Finally, because Mercy gets pointed at as a low-skill hero all the time, I just wanna say once that - yeah, I know. That’s why I like her. My game awareness, while not remarkable, is far better than my mechanical skill/aim, and it feels/felt really good to play a hero who could, on some level, reward you for paying attention to multiple things at once.
Anyway, that's all. I am so fucking disappointed, especially because I was genuinely excited about Season 3 for like two seconds. I'd honestly be interested in, or at the least accepting of, her other kit changes too, if this nerf wasn't so massive and disastrous. Really have no enthusiasm for playing her at all unless things get re-examined which is just ... man, it makes me sad. Anyway, thanks for your time.

this was very ranty and i doubt anyone is going to read this but i still want to get my point across to anybody who reads this. my point is that brig, ana, mercy, sombra, tracer, sym, pharah, mei, jq, winston, rein, dva and probably a few more that i'm forgetting rn require you to learn a new character. if you main sym and decide to learn sombra you will need to learn a completely new character, obv game sense follows over so it's not completely new. but if you main soldier (fuck you) you can move to a bunch of heroes (ashe, bastion, cass, reaper, hanzo, widow) and already be pretty good at them, i don't like that. to me that's not a balanced game and it's not a fun way to play the game either.
second rant for today, this time about supports and meta in general instead of just doomfist:
illari is not designed good in any way, she has the potential to out dmg most dmg classes while also being easier to play than quite a lot of those other heroes. i've heard a lot of people talk about illari and say that if a character requires skill then a skilled player should be able to carry the game and i agree BUT illari does in no way require a lot of skill. just click heads. quite literally just click heads. it's not that difficult.
if this game was actually skill based then heroes like sym, sojourn, pharah (without mercy), genji, echo, mei and heroes that actually take either a lot of game sense and/or mechanical skill would be dominating the meta. but no that's not how this game works. people don't play the heroes that can gain the most value for their team, they play the heroes that can gain a lot of value EASILY. that's why illari, bastion, torb, orisa etc. are being played a lot. they're easy as shit to get value out of.
now of course this isn't the case for high level play like owl, contenders or even top 500. you need skill to play any hero at that level obviously. at that level of play every game is going to be skill based even when there are metas there too, BUT what i'd love to see is a game where the game is actually skill based for the majority of the player base instead of just the 1%. no i'm not asking for every team to be running the same comp, what i want is actually interesting and intricate hero design for EVERY HERO. like tracer, like sombra, like pharah, like junker queen. even mei, she's cool as fuck. her walls have so much potential, her secondary fire is harder to hit than most thing in the game (looking at u hanzo with ur log sized arrows that one shot and travel insanely fast)
going back to support. i don't think heroes like ana, brig and mercy need changes at all. mercy is not op in any way but they still nerf her movement over and over again for some unknown reason. ana has two incredibly valuable abilities yes but those abilities aren't exactly easy to use either. when 4 people on your team get anti-naded that's not because nade is op that's because that ana has spent time learning their hero. brig too, she's not easy to play in any way. imo the only "free value" in her kit is rally, but it's an ult and most ults in the game are very easy value.

i am okay today. okay, in the sense that i don’t have a brain piercing headache and a constant feeling of panic. i am incredibly sad. i don’t know that the feeling will ever go away. i think it was loom over my shoulder until the lights turn off. or maybe it’s something else looming behind me. i always feel, there is this shitty piece of me, that always stays one step behind me. except, now, i think that i was always one step behind it. i feel like i constantly have to do damage control for these things i vaguely have recollection of. it’s strange. sometimes i feel like my memories are not my own. in my head i have this joyous feeling towards all these negative things that have happened. then i look back and i realize, wow, this was awful. i guess it’s good to be glass half full, but the problem with that is these really good things happen to me and i have this false perception that it was the worst possible thing. i feel like i do this a lot in my relationships. does everyone? i don’t know anymore. i used to think that i clung to the good memories, but i am realizing these memories weren’t all that happy.
today, i think about how you cried in my mom’s car as i drove you and ****** home. i was so stressed out. i was so scared. i didn’t know how to react. in previous situations of similar stature you had scolded me for existing in your world when you were sad. i was at a loss. if i said anything, i was petrified you would snap at me. you always tried to keep me on the outside. for so long, i tried to be on the inside. to be let into your head, your soul. i have always found your soul to be beautiful. it’s an old soul in a way. you are so divinely simple, with all these intricate complexities about you. you fascinate me. so much so, that it sends a striking feeling through my head. it’s like every synapse in my head is firing off. i have such a hard time paying attention to other people’s words. i feel like i am physically present in the situation but there is nothing sticking in my head. your words stick. that’s what scares me. they can feel like a knife going through my head. i can tell you hate me and it has been this feeling of dread. what if you were my person and i danced around the subject at hand for far too long. that’s the funny thing i guess, how you could be my person, but i am not at all yours. a lot of times, i feel like the implication of me and what i bring is better than the reality of who i am. i don’t know if i will ever feel at peace within my own head again. somedays things feel so effortless and good. i can go days not thinking about you. then i see some small stupid fucking thing and any progress i have made is null and void. it’s like i am suppressing your existence within myself. yesterday, i played overwatch for 5 hours and did not think of you until we had an awful dva on our team. my instantaneous thought was, wow ******* would have done so much better. that’s sad. something i enjoyed so much can become something i hate so deeply. i don’t know how to deal with this anymore. i really wish you would close the door on me. it will destroy me, i genuinely don’t know if i would continue this game. the thing is, it’ll be the push to fully commit to it, or the push to take on the final boss. i say i want the door closed, but also i would prefer the door to open, you to let me in. i can’t deal with the door always being cracked. i can’t do that anymore. i can’t go five more years wondering “what if”, i cant.
i can’t make this better, and that is the saddest realization. if the door were to open, you would never see me in a positive light. i have decimated any good perception of myself. i look like a fraud, liar, loser, idiot, etc. that part sucks the most. i did it to myself, but once a person has the perception, they will never trust you again. that, i think, is the part i cannot live with.

A little (maybe wip?) snippet of something I had in another fic for Dva, but didn’t really fit. I might flesh this out more in the future but Ren keeps telling me I should share more of my stuff, so here ya go.
I think the idea of Dva vs Hana is really interesting and I think she struggles with that a lot, especially when she first gets into Overwatch, and the idea that it’s both a comfort and burden to her is juicy.
---
“That’s it for me folks. As usual, I don’t know when I’ll be able to stream these days, but watch your notifications and catch my VODs when they go up! Remember to take care of each other. Love, D.Va xoxo”
Hana held a bright smile and small heart sign with her fingers until the green light from her webcam blipped off, the signal she could slide the tiny privacy screen shut over its lens. Watchpoint Gibraltar was quite secure, but millions of dollars didn’t stop a kpop star’s private network from being hacked last year, and Hana had no interest in inviting that kind of scandal into her life.
“Can’t tarnish my perfect image.”
The expensive, custom gaming chair she’d been sponsored to own sagged back with a creak, as Hana fiddled with the back of her bra underneath her t-shirt. She tossed it onto the growing pile of dirty laundry in the corner.
Fareeha complained about how poorly Hana slouched in her chair. Once during a room inspection, she spent forty-five minutes explaining every ergonomic setting Hana should use when working in front of the computer, horrified for the health of Hana’s lower back. Never in her life had Hana regretted accepting a sponsorship item as much when she was forced to look over every line and diagram of that damn twenty page owner’s manual.
Empty drinks, half eaten energy bars and meeting briefs with scribbled notes in the margins cluttered most available desk space, except the area occupied by the pristine, top of the line computer quietly whirring to the side. The majority of light in the room came from the LED displays inside the silver and glass chassis, at the moment set to match D.Va’s signature pink, blue, and white color scheme. Hana popped a melatonin tablet from a half empty bottle on her desk into her mouth and washed it down with a canned herbal tea whose label promised relaxation and health. It was one of the few cans littering her desk without her face emblazoned across it.
She slid further down in her chair, reaching for her rainbow lit mouse. A few clicks and Hana kicked off a system update, noticing during the stream her performance metrics were lagging more than she liked. Trying to ship replacement parts to Watchpoint would be a huge pain in the ass if some of the hardware needed to be replaced, but hopefully the update would smooth out the roughest parts. If not, she could take a sick day or something and fiddle with the rest of it.
The bright LED lights in the computer powered down while the updates ran, settling the rest of her quarters into near darkness. It was 2:47am in Gibraltar, which she knew was eight hours behind Korea and nine hours ahead of Los Angeles. Even if she didn’t know the time difference, her body tried to tell her how tired she was no matter how much she ignored the heaviness around her eyes or the tension in her jaw. It was easier to focus on the people in her stream chat from both sides of the globe, happy to see her and talk to her. Happy to talk to DVa.
There was always someone on somewhere to watch her streams, and it was a relief to slip into the old persona for a while. Lately it seemed the only way for Overwatch agent Hana Song to relax was to put on the mask of Dva and let her take over Hana’s brain for a few hours.
The chair creaked again as she padded away from the computer to look out a window by her bed. The ambient light of the city floated in the distance like a hazy cloud, and it reminded her of the view from MEKA base in the bay of Busan. She pulled the blinds down and fell into bed, finally exhausting her body enough that she could drift off into oblivion.

Valentine's prompt: Brigitte and Dva baking together
It shouldn’t have been awkward. Dva was an international star on a number of levels, and had been so since she was fifteen or so. She was known for being cute, for being capable, for being quick on her feet, and confident to a point that bordered on arrogance, in her worst moments. People imagined her as all sorts of things, and she let them, because it paid to be imagined as the perfect girlfriend, as the cool friend, as the great hero of Korea. No one would have imagined that she was nervous to have a girl over to make cookies. People would have laughed at the idea.
And yet, here she was, nervous. Brigitte had never been to her apartment. Dva wasn’t even sure they were officially dating, even though they had gone out plenty of times since Christmas. It wasn’t that she thought they were just friends--there were plenty of activities they’ d participated in that didn’t suggest that--but it wasn’t that she thought they were serious enough to be girlfriends, either.
More surprising to Dva was that she wanted to be.
She kept telling herself that there were a million reasons she hadn’t addressed this particular issue. They were building a whole new Overwatch headquarters, and Dva was helping with the oversight of it, making sure everything was just so. There were new exhibits coming to the recently-refurbished Overwatch Museum of London, to say nothing of the one they planned to revive in America. Dva had been a key part of all these things, taking a bit of the work off Tracer, trying to convince Pharah she could do just as well and trying very hard not to be insulted by Pharah’s insistence that it was Tracer’s work. It meant there was plenty for her to do that wasn’t dating, and so it made perfect sense that she’d never sat down to have any conversation with Brigitte about what they were, exactly.
Did Dva even care about Valentine’s Day? She certainly couldn’t remember caring about Valentine’s Day, but it must have mattered some to her if she had stumbled out asking if Brigitte wanted to come help her make several dozen cookies to give out. She didn’t want to give out cookies, much less make them, she was fairly certain, and yet it had come out of her mouth as Brigitte and Winston stood in front of her discussing the new lab setup.
Winston had smiled after Dva said it, which somehow made it worse.
Her apartment was a great one. She knew that to be true, at least. She hadn’t thought much about anything but location and having a gaming room when she’d bought it with all money she’d saved from living with her parents back home, and the agent had found her a place ten minutes’ walk from two different underground stations, with a Waitrose on the way, across from some gardens that her balcony overlooked. It wasn’t until Tracer’s eyes widened as they walked toward it that she realized entirely the kind of place she owned, a three bedroom apartment that had Tracer running from room to room, asking why she had never gotten into the video game business. Bright, with wood floors and a marble bathroom, she took a certain amount of delight in showing it to people, that she wasn’t some sort of grubby gremlin child but an adult with nice tastes.
Now she was worried it was too nice. Ostentatious? The only person in Overwatch with a bigger place was Winston, and that was a rusty old warehouse he’d spend years scrabbling into a home. Would Brigitte think she was bragging? Brigitte had invited her back to her apartment, a tiny studio that was across from a dumpster rather than a garden, but it was warm and sweet and now Dva worried that her apartment showed she had money but not much else.
Did she have much else? Who was she other than the wunderkind, really, when it got down to it? Mercy had tried to talk to her about it once, having more than a little experience with such, but Dva had shook it away, proud as always. Now she found herself wishing she could ask how to deal with it. She would, once today was over, win or lose. She was in her twenties, but growing up, it seemed, very suddenly, in the light of everything changing. There was no more room to be the talented brat she loved being, if she was honest.
But that realization wasn’t going to save her from whatever happened today with Brigitte.
The buzzer rang. Horrifying, but inevitable, like so many things in military life. She ran over to the monitor and flipped it on, Brigitte’s smile lighting up the camera.
“Hi!” She waved.
Brigitte didn’t seem shocked or offended by Dva’s apartment building, and so Dva simply nodded and attempted a smile back. “Just come up, the door’s open.”
She buzzed Brigitte in and turned around toward the open room. She’d already cleaned ip everything that needed it, and the cookie ingredients were in the fridge and pantry. Dva had bought some sodas and snacks this morning, opening the boxes so it would look casual. Hopefully Brigitte couldn’t tell that she’d never had anyone over to her house, and if she could, well, it was a fair protest that Dva had never really had time in her life to imagine it. That was, until Brigitte joined Overwatch, and all of her friends thought it was cute to torment Dva over the flirting.
Brigitte came through the door and looked around the apartment, the surfeit of natural light and Dva’s simple but sturdy couches and chairs set up in the living room.
“This place is really nice!” She said it with enthusiasm and without judgment, even if Dva studied hard to find it.
“Thanks.” She managed. “Actually, I just told an agent to get me something when I moved here a few years ago...I’m not very good at shopping.”
“I believe that,” Brigitte gave a bright nod, “I remember trying to find you a Christmas sweater for the Oxton party.”
Dva laughed. It had been silly, hadn’t it? The two of flitting from store to store, Dva not knowing exactly what she wanted but knowing that none of this was it. Brigitte had threated to simply throw one of her sweaters on top of her. But they found something, eventually. They’d spent the whole party talking together. It had been what she wanted, after all.
She led Brigitte back toward the small but well appointed kitchen, neat as a pin. Brigitte smiled slyly as she preheated the oven.
“I bet you never use this room, huh?”
Dva smacked her with an embroidered tea towel, but laughed in a way that let Brigitte know she couldn’t be more correct.
It was a wonder, to see Brigitte in the kitchen. She had brought some of her own ingredients, not imagining that Dva would have everything they needed. Brigitte didn’t seem to need much of a recipe, just kept whipping things together until there was a dough in a bowl in front of the two of them, being worked over carefully by Brigitte’s broad, strong hands.
They couldn’t be more different, could they? Brigitte was tall and broad and strong, warm and nurturing and domestic. Dva was small and fine boned, sharp and quick and dangerous, hopeless in the kitchen and barely qualified in even a laundry room. It was odd to imagine that they could ever be together, and the thought made her a bit sad even as she shaped the dough into a disk for the fridge.
But then, she thought, it wasn’t so unusual. Mercy and Pharah may as well have been night and day on all things not related to their shared ethics, and sometimes even that, and you never met a couple so devoted and in love. The things Emily seemed to love best about Tracer were the things they in no way shared--Tracer was loud and gregarious and daring, Emily was quiet and shy and cautious. So what if Brigitte was the one making dinner? Dva would bring her home every pan and grocery item she could ever want.
“What?” Brigitte said, and Dva realized she was staring.
Dva shook her head.”Just thinking. Sorry.”
“About what?”
“Nothing.” She picked up the dough disks. ‘The fridge, right? We could watch something while we wait,” she turned around and opened the fridge door, ‘It’s still too cold to sit on the balcony--honestly it’s stupid that I even have one, it’s too cold most of the year. I didn’t think enough about the weather--”
“Hana, do you like me?” She turned around quickly to find Brigitte looking at her almost...nervously, a cup of tea in her hand. “I mean,” she laughed, “I don’t know how to say that in a grown up way.”
“I do.” Dva, it turned out, had no idea how to respond in an adult way, and stumbled over every teenage emotion she found herself feeing. “I really do. I want--”
“I know there is, so much happening with you, and I--the new headquarters, and I know we’re not talking about how Tracer’s sick, but Tracer’s sick--maybe I shouldn’t have said that? I mean, I’m not--she does a great job as commander, still, and you’re helping. That’s, you know, really good, that you’re helping. God, I can’t stop talking.” She looked at Dva and Dva recognized the same strange panic in her eyes. “I don’t really--my brothers and sisters kept me so busy, and my father was always teaching me about...things that aren’t this, you know, at all.” She closed her eyes tight. “I want to be your girlfriend!”
She clapped her hand over her mouth, and the two of them looked at each other, silent, wide-eyed.
The oven dinged as it came up to temperature.

-
Hui
Tumblr media
gamertag: huing
support main, specifically mercy
when he started playing the game tho, he tried to be a tank main

mercy is definitely more his speed
his streams are unintentionally goofy, as in he doesnt even try to be funny
he accidentally does stupid stuff and bam: content
always has a positive attitude
unless he’s not streaming then he might babyrage a bit lmao
-
Jinho
Tumblr media
gamertag: mu$h jinjo
honestly he can flex and play any role
you need a rein who will push but won’t walk his ass in alone? that’s jinho
a zen who will get more kills than dps? that’s jinho
an actually competent dps that doesn’t just go mei? that’s jinho
he’s also amazing at shot calling
he sometimes streams but honestly not often
he doesn’t find streaming fun because he takes the game kinda seriously
can get tilted sometimes lmao
-
Hongseok
Tumblr media

absolutely a tank main
sometimes will flex to like soldier or something but usually plays tank
mostly dva and hog and rein and winston

sometimes does irl streams too
everybody simps for him and he knows it
he’s so competitive, obviously he takes the game seriously and turns into a big baby when he loses

gamertag: dawn
dps main but mostly like soldier and junkrat and mei and hanzo
basically anything that annoys the hell out of people
always screaming in comms and you cannot stop it
also plays ana sometimes
you know sleepy? yeah dawn’s streams are a lot like that
duos with wooseok a lot and it’s just constant yelling
complete chaos but it’s amusing chaos
he honestly just started as a streamer and got picked up so he’s just here for a good time and doesn’t take it too seriously
-
Shinwon
Tumblr media
gamertag: mcwon (because mcdonalds haaaa im so original)
healer main, mostly ana and lucio

healer/dps main
mostly widow, mei, bap, mercy, ana
he’s just here to do his best !!!!!
never toxic and never bms
okay well maybe sometimes he bms but he’s giggling the whole time
streams mostly ow but also random shit for no reason ?????
he’s just here to have fun
so he also never really gets angry when he loses
always types ggs! :) in chat
Yanan
Tumblr media
gamertag: kimchi (idk he likes kimchi and im not very creative w names)
healer main
however he has an ult account and only plays dps because he’s just as good
but his team only really uses him as a healer, his talent is wasted
can and will flame the fuck out of you
actually can be really toxic lmao
easy to tilt
stereotypical angy dps main lmao
Yuto
Tumblr media
gamertag: yutoda
flex player
usually plays off tanks, zen, mercy, ana, tracer, genji, and reaper
but he can play a variety of heroes
not much of a shot caller unless he’s playing zen or someone’s low or something
always very positive but very quiet
likes talking to his stream and rarely talks in voice chat w his team lmao
likes to play animal crossing and stardew valley between games
doesn’t get tilted and is always super sweet to everybody involved lmao
-
Hyunggu
Tumblr media
gamertag: kino
another talented flex player :’)
mostly plays orisa, ball, mei, sombra, phara, ana, bap, and moira
consistent streams always
does shit show saturdays where he plays games w his friends (sometimes drunk) and’s it’s a mess but it’s funny
and sub sundays where he plays games w his subs
doesn’t get tilted but he will get upset if he’s on a losing streak or can’t win in actual owl matches
always tweeting positivity
-
Wooseok
Tumblr media
gamertag: jungwooseok
everyone just calls him wooseok (like how ryujehong was just shorted to jehong)
he’s very creative i know
tank main
plays a lot of rein and hog
doesn’t always take the game too seriously, he mostly goofs off between tryharding
lots of screaming but i mean that’s probably normal for rein mains
streams pretty much every single day but his sleep schedule is also fucked lmao
sometimes gets tilted but usually just gets kinda pouty instead lmao

dnt rblg or share pls
nobody follows me here anyway so um. thoughts i might have if id seen the leaked scrims. i am neither a coach nor good at the game and scrimbucks are worthless anyway so take this with half a grain of salt. take nothing from this other than that both teams are functional and competent, i just think its fun to watch and dig into regardless
the current apac meta is probably ball/dva tracer/sombra brig/zen. i didn’t get a good read on the *exact* way to play it since shock was playing it in a very odd (and counterable) way, but it seems play pretty similarly to the recent NA t3 meta of ball/sig tracer/echo brig or mercy/zen. i think it’s probably a more flexible meta than i saw here as well.
teams play in groups of 1-2-3, with the ball solo, tracer + sombra together, and dva bodyguarding the zen. ball, sombra, and tracer all set up separately, and trade aggro between them until they’re all able to go on a single target. the goal of the ball is to begin engages, the goal of the tracer is to mark the enemy ball and force him far out of position, and the sombra bounces between them and gives help where it’s needed by hacking the enemy tracer/ball. zen is the most vital part of this comp bc orbs, and brig’s there to literally stay glued to him and to disrupt dives w/ flail/rally. dva is only there to be a 6th person on the team because sigma (the typical purposeless 6th wheel) is way too squishy vs sombra to be played, especially w/ the nerfs. from then you cycle ults and try to scare the enemy into wasting their tranq or mines. it’s a comp that takes ages to win fights, and it almost feels like fights never stop
nyxl played rush for one round of control and looked v strong, but shock was playing a weird comp so im taking that w/ a grain of salt. the only thing i can definitively say is that choi zarya still hurts my heart.
nyxl had a nutty tracer in called twowinhyun, which is ivy’s alt. i didn’t know he had a tracer so that’s pretty neat
shock ran glister/striker full time. striker was mostly on tracer, and instead of sombra (though he did play it for one map iirc) glister was on mccree or ashe. instead of playing it like standard, shock relied very heavily on striker to tracer diff and had glister there to shut down the ball + generally suppress the dive. nyxl was able to deal with this cleanly by sending flora along with ivy every time he engaged striker, and by diving glister the instant he was forced away from his brig.
shock did play meta on one map, but they tried to off-angle on dva too much and choi got stuck in bad spots and fed (this is not on him, shock just didn’t know how to use dva in this comp yet). they also got bamboozled by flora’s sombra
there’s really nothing to take from shock here other than that their players are really good individually and they have good teamwork. they were very clearly experimenting and one scrimblock means nothing. please do not take anything i have written as an indication that shock will suck next year.
speaking of flora, he surprised me with how good he was. his EMPs were almost always perfect, he had excellent bait plays and surprise EMPs, and he saved hack so ivy and yakpung could almost always follow up on it. he also charged emp SUPER fast and had it for nearly every fight (i imagine teams will learn to counter him tho).the rest of nyxl looked strong on their heroes as well. the only part of nyxl i felt was questionable was jjonak’s’ tranq usage, but like. that’s just the way he is lmao. otherwise they looked good on everything and adapted nicely
the only thing to take from nyxl is that they have potential and are a functioning, competent team at the current moment in time

Give us the good boy Bap tips 👀 I’ve been playing him a lot and it’d be nice to learn some new things!
yall want TIPS? yall want to see an autistic ramble at full power for an embarrassingly long post??
OKAY so baptiste is a really interesting support hero in that he rewards good mechanics, but he isnt completely useless if your aim isnt that good, especially if you just focus on healing your team and using your abilities
that being said! his primary fire can be very deadly and its absolutely worth it to practice using his gun so you can take out enemies on your own. his burst fire is a little weird to get used to, but after a while ive found that his gun plays really similar to soldier, so if youve played him bap might be a little easier
baptist’s spread is a vertical three round burst that looks like this:
Tumblr media
(i tried to get an in-game pic but it didnt show up well lol)
the shape of it means that its better to aim his crosshair at the neck of heroes as opposed to their head, but the verticality is mainly due to his recoil. as such, it helps a lot if you pull down slightly when you shoot
Tumblr media
heres a gif of me shooting at the head without fighting the recoil
Tumblr media
and one where i am. note that at this range it only takes two shots
baptistes primary fire is best used when:
behind a shield/in a bunker. baptiste can help a lot with shield wars so dont just pump grenades into your team afraid that they might take tiny bits of damage if you focus on something else for a second
to finish off low health targets. it helps if your team calls them out but usually you’ll have to keep an eye out yourself. baptiste is very good for this as opposed to trying to get solo kills, especially if you just have average mechanics (like me)
in chaotic teamfights that could go either way, use your best judgement as to whether to do damage or healing. on attack, i would say to try being more offensive, and on defense always be defensive with his kit unless youre the only person left alive
against tanks and certain squishies (hes really good against pharah/mercy, zen, junkrat, etc, but has trouble fighting tracer/mini dva and snipers that are out of range)
when using his ultimate. the extra damage is actually really good
important note as of the current patch (6/18): baptistes ult is bugged so that it doesnt amplify healing, so dps away until its fixed lol
now onto his healing grenades!
they have a lot less range than you would think (like 3m i think) its good to go into the practice range and see for yourself just how close they have to be to hit teammates so you have a better feel for it in game.
he does 60 heals per second (120 when his matrix,, actually works.) and has 12 ammo per clip, making him a decent primary healer.
in general, his healing works best when youre on the high ground, due to them being grenades. so use his jump boots to take high ground as needed to heal your team! also, if youre in an area that has open sky, they can be shot directly up into the air for a delayed healing effect
technically, you can shoot his primary and secondary fire at the same time, but its rare that doing so would actually be helpful imo, where you aim for each is very different. i guess it wouldnt hurt to practice it just in case
also, his grenades have the same projectile trajectory as his immortality field, which is good to keep in mind if you want to aim the field more precisely. when i first picked up baptiste i made a lot of mistakes bc i flung it way too far lol
speaking of his immortality field, my Most General baptiste tip would be to use his ultimate on cooldown like an ability (since it charges so fast) and to use his immortality field like an ultimate
if you play zenyatta or lucio, i would compare using it to their ultimates. ive found that the longer i wait before using it the better (in my replays i see myself use it too early out of panic and the result is Sad), but you dont want to avoid using it completely and end up with a dead team. finding the balance is hard but it comes with practice
like lucios ult (and sometimes zen) it can be used for initiation! i had a really good team that fought a bastion bunker on paris with dive, and i helped by throwing my immortality frisbee on top of the bastion when they went in. if you have a winston, try throwing it in after him when he initiates
its also very important to pay attention to where exactly the frisbee ends up, because if you place it right, it cant be hit by the enemy team. try to place it slightly behind cover whenever possible. this is by far the most abusable part of his kit and i wouldnt be surprised if the duration of it gets nerfed to compensate. so if you want to cheese your way up the ranks, go into each map in custom games and practice where to put the field so that enemies cant hit it. this alone wont do much if you dont have the game sense to know when to do it, though
ultimates that immortality field is good at countering:
GRAV. zaryas get so mad about this bc people forget to shoot it and its so funny. also hanzos dragons cant kill the field so it can counter that combo entirely, just be sure to communicate to your zen so they dont waste ult
dva bomb/junkrat, but it will be instantly destroyed and your team will be very low health, so be careful. it also counters pulse bomb if you get stuck
earth shatter. if you suspect rein has it, stick to the high ground at all costs to avoid being caught! this is good advice in general for supports, but especially for ones with defensive abilities
in that same vein, you can counter emp if you can avoid being caught by sombra. note that sombra can hack baps frisbee so watch out
genji. genji can kill the field but it takes away from the amount of slashes he has and in this time your team should be able to kill him. if hes nanoboosted, you have less time to get to safety, so try charging your boots to get away from him in the meantime
mccree. high noon cant target the field. press f for everyones favorite trash cowboy. (it can however help friendly mccrees and pharahs from dying as soon as they hit q so try to combo!)
speaking of pharah, its possible to get her to kill herself with barrage if you put your frisbee right in front of her face
not good ultimates to try to counter:
doomfists ult can be avoided by charging your shoes and jumping up in the air (as long as youre not directly beneath him lol) so its not worth it unless you see someone else about to be smashed
related to doomfist, if he gets on you it can be hard to set the field down right bc of how his abilities displace you, so be sure to look straight down when you use it
reaper, soldier, and bob all auto target the field, so if its out in the open it just disintegrates
torbjorn and hammonds ults also kill the field pretty much immediately
also, as good as immortality is, there are some situations where baptiste just doesnt work as well as other heroes. if you have a good zen or lucio who use their ults well, or if you have a really mobile/spread out comp, you might want to pick one of the other main healers.
if in general you feel like youre not doing enough healing, try switching to mercy to reach your teammates better. if you need crowd control or anti heal then pick ana, and moira can be good at lower ranks if youre not getting any peel/dying too much (just please keep focusing on healing)
on that note, if your other healer insists on playing dps moira, baptiste is a good fit since he can main heal and also provide defense abilities to make up for that
as for his regenerative burst, all i really have to say is to try not to use it out of panic every time you take chip shots (i do this still lol) it works best when you and your teammates are all in a fight, actively taking damage
im sure that even with all i wrote im still forgetting something but i think im gonna call this done for now. i uhhhh love baptiste a lot and think hes a good hero to try to rank up with bc his primary fire has a high skill ceiling but his healing/abilities are more forgiving at lower ranks

Overwatch Medals & Why They Don’t Matter
This is a long post I’ve been preparing for a while. I finally decided to type it up today. So many people (in every rank) use medals as ways to tell whether they’re good or not. I also did that for a long time while playing competitive. I have gold damage? I don’t have to swap, I’m impervious to criticism since I’m doing the best on my team.
Let’s go over why that way of thinking is flawed, why medals are for the most part completely useless and what you can look for instead to tell if you’re doing good or not in your games. Buckle up for a very long post!
Getting right into it...
Why Do Medals Not Matter?
Simply put, they can easily be false indicators of whether or not a player is doing well or not. They can also just serve to tilt your own team. (Your Zarya says: “guys I have gold damage, DPS better do something”)
An example of how medals are false indicators:
Let’s say a Widowmaker on your team only gets two picks every fight. The two enemy supports and that’s all. She is not going to have gold damage over someone front lining. She probably won’t even have gold elims. But she’s enabling you to win every fight just by picking off those two targets.
Another example.
You’re playing Sombra. All you’re doing is hacking the Rein as often as you can and farming EMP off of the Dva. You coordinate your EMP’s with Rein’s shatters when you can. You probably won’t have gold damage, but the utility you’re offering by disabling their Reinhardt and farming EMP is extremely valuable.
Overwatch is not about medals. It’s not about getting gold damage or elims or objective time. It’s about getting picks so you can secure the objective. That’s it. Things that help increase your chances this are:
Solid team composition (but you can win with any team comp)
Counter picking against your opponent.
Coordination/Communication
Medals don’t factor into this at all. They can give you an idea of what’s happening, (There are some heroes that really shouldn’t have gold damage at all, aka: Ana, Mercy, Sombra, etc) but by no means are they concrete indicators of doing good. In fact, they can sometimes hinder your own team.
An example of this.
You’re playing Hanzo and your team is getting rolled. You have gold damage and elims so you ask the other DPS to switch. You continue to get rolled and lose, but you lose with three golds.
Another.
You’re playing Lucio and you have gold healing over your Ana after winning a round of Busan. Your team is winning but you shouldn’t have gold healing so you switch to a main support to make up for the bad Ana. Your team doesn’t have a defensive ult for the enemy dragonblade and you lose that round.
Medals mean nothing. They mean even less when your team is getting stomped. Having gold medals is not a defense from switching because doing the best on your team does not always mean you are doing well. It just means you’re doing better than your own teammates. Also, medals can easily fluctuate. Depending on how the team plays, Lucio can definitely have gold healing over an Ana. Tanks can often have gold damage over DPS depending on how they’re front lining.
What Should I Look At Instead?
The kill feed! The kill feed is invaluable. It’ll help you with ult tracking and gauging whether or not you need to swap.
The player list! (Hitting tab). Tracking your own team’s ults and often checking for enemy swaps is also extremely valuable. It can also tell you where the problems in your team lies. (Your Hanzo got his first dragon AFTER the Zarya is 25% into her second grav. And your Ana STILL hasn’t used nano after 3 minutes. Oh no.)
Your own gameplay! Being constantly mindful of your own gameplay is very important, especially if you’re playing DPS.
Use the above to really determine if you’re doing enough. If you’re playing DPS, you really need to think: Am I doing enough? Sure you may have 3 golds on Tracer while losing but are you actually doing enough? Are you securing the picks your team needs to win? Or are you just putting clips into the enemy team without actually killing anything.
Another example, you’re rocking it as Junkrat. Golds across the board. But the enemy swaps Widowmaker and starts to take out your team. You may be doing well on Junkrat, but the Widow is getting all the picks. You switch to your other comfort pick, Genji, to counter. You lose two of your golds because of it, but the Widow is shut down because she doesn’t swap and you win.
Try not to have the mindset of “I’m having enough impact.” Instead think “What can I do to have more impact.” If the enemy team isn’t really dying and you feel like you’re not doing enough then it’s probably time to switch things up! Whether that’s in a change of gameplay or a change of hero.
In Conclusion:
Don’t put stake in the medal system. It can give you an idea of what’s going on, but be aware of the kill feed, player list, and your own gameplay to really understand where the strengths and weak points of your team lies. Always make sure to consider if you’re creating enough pressure. Ask yourself, regardless of your role...
What can I do to have more impact?
If you think you’re doing your best (because sometimes swaps are really not necessary) then keep doing your thing!
Thanks to everyone who actually read to the bottom of this. Believe it or not, mindset changes can really affect and improve people’s gameplay. This is something that really improved my own games once I understood it.
If anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, or needs clarification, feel free to shoot me an ask or message me.
Happy comping! :)

More Overwatch Headcannons (bc I can)
So, Hanzo listens to zen spa music and Jesse listens to the most obnoxious country western music *author’s note, not saying country is bad I actually listen to It all the time, just saying the stereotypical songs* but both of them will jAM LOUDLY TO METALLICA AND CLASSIC ROCK LIKE CALM TF DOWN BOIS
Genji is a cat person and wants ten of them (Hanzo and Genji went shopping together once and split up to get the groceries faster and Genji comes back with a kitten in his hands and none of the food he was supposed to get “Brother, no” “broTHER YES”)
Amélie listens to rap all the time and it’s so out of character for her? Lena was really confused when she saw Amélie rapping along to Rap God by Eminem (and low key impressed)
Junkrat is actually really good at impressions and mimicking his teammate’s voices, so much so that his team often mute his voice on their ear pieces (CHEERS LOVE THE FUCKING CALVARY’S HERE)
Sombra is actually really superstitious, like annoyingly so (she’s afraid of Genji’s cat because he’s a black cat and she won’t go anywhere near It)
Winston is a coffee A D D I C T he can’t go a day without It and when he does he gets really cranky and salty (one time Lena and Angela staged an intervention for him, It didn’t end well. “You want this coffee? You can pry It from mY COLD DEAD S C I E N T I S T H A N D S)
Phara loves to sing and she’ll do It all the time without even realizing most of the time (and hella good at It like what?!)
Bastion will keep birdseed on him at all times (ay Ganymede gets hungry) (one time Bastion literally stopped mid battle to pop open his drawer of birdseed bc Ganymede pecked at it and was hungry “Bastion, keep firing or we’ll loose the point!” *annoyed and sassy robotic noise*)
Mei is a helpless romantic and will forever cry watching the Notebook (“Jamison why can’t you be more like that?” *sobbing* Junkrat then proceeded to cook Mei a candlelight dinner with roses and wine, she low key cried)
Torbjörn can get really sassy if no one listens to him and it’s surprising to get roasted by a 4’7” man (he’s not afraid to cut a bitch)
Dva will throw games on purpose when playing video games with her friends (winning is less important when she can see the look of happiness and pride on Lúcio’s face. But when he gets too cocky she will mercilessly best his ass)
Orisa is programmed to speak and understand basically every language and will converse with the Overwatch angents in their native tounge (It really is a relief to be able to talk to someone in your first language when English is such a hard language. She will often act as a translator for new agents who don’t know English well enough)
Reinhardt will never actually admit it, but he’s a big fan of the old cowboy movies and can quote almost all of them (he got HELLA excited when he first saw Jesse and they often talk John Wayne movies with each other in private)
Roadhog is a sucker for happy endings and loves Disney movies (he and Mei get along well)
Zarya is the resident hairdresser for Overwatch and dyes the agent’s hair when asked (they don’t need to tell her what style they want their hair she just knows by looking at them. She LOVES Widowmaker because she can do so much with her hair and style It in the most elaborate ways)
Lúcio is the biggest nerd you’ll ever meet (Hey did you see that episode of Doctor Who? The Daleks and the Cybermen were in a fight against each other and the Doctor had to break up the fight and Rose... well we don’t talk about Doomsday too often)
Mercy swears in German more often than not and Reinhardt is appalled (“Verdammte Hölle, hör auf Schaden zu nehmen!” “A N G E L A! We don’t say that!”) {translates roughly to “fucking hell stop taking damage shitheads}
Moira is a huge fan of Bowie and will force anyone and everyone to listen to him (Moira please, it’s 4 in the goddamn morning. *Queen Bitch on full goddamn blast* Does It look like I fUCKING CARE GET REKT SCRUB)
Symmetra is a really good artist, like a really good artist (she gives henna tattoos to anyone who asks and they love it. Hana one time got both her arms and legs fully covered in henna, It took the entire afternoon and evening)
Zenyatta isn’t afraid to mess with people from time to time (I swear I just saw Zenyatta trip over a goddamn rock, a fucking rock! What are you on he hovers)

Watch out? Naw, Watch OVER (Mercy appreciation post)
I WANT TO PLAY OVERWATCH. I WANT TO PUT A TEAM TOGETHER. I used to share a playstation with someone and i had to leave it behind when I moved and while I would also like to play Destiny and Diablo and a few others, the game I REALLY miss most is Overwatch. I’m about to get a playstation of my own just to be able to play this one game, istg. And when I do, I’m want to be part of a real team. Here’s my Resumé: I’m not big into DPS even though I have a couple hundred hours on Pharah (I don’t usually play DPS, but when I do play DPS, you can find me in the air raining justice). After Pharah I have somewhere between 40 and 100 hours each on Lucio, Mei, Zarya, Orissa, Junkrat, Torbjorn, and idk my hours but I play a decent Anna, Moira, DVa, plus I’m coming up on some decent skill with Ash the few times I get to play lately (and I used to be a real good Symmetra, but she got... different. I need practice). I’m an okay Reinhardt. I can get around okayyyy with McCree and, surprisingly, I’m sometimes pretty alright with Widowmaker. Getting pretty good with Sombra too. but my favorite character to play is Mercy.  It took me a while to come around on Mercy, and then I had to fall back in love with her after they changed her ult and stuff, but holy shit I love to play Mercy. I love the amount of influence she has on overall gameplay, and, honestly, with all the “so and so is too OP” that goes on about like, EVERY character (a sure sign of really good balance in character design and gameplay, really) I’m surprised she isn’t at the top of everyone’s complaint list. Like, first of all, FIRST of all, she can heal you SO much AND she can make you more deadly? Fuuuuuck, if you stay hopping between the sponge and spray, you can turn almost any character into a team-killer. What, 3 of you wanna go up against anyone, who, a Junkrat? fine, you’re gonna kill him, but if I’M there, hell no, you can’t hurt him, and if you thought his bouncy-booms hurt before, just wait until I’m blue-beaming his shit; y’all better RUN. Secondly, her gun is dope, and she has actual health regen. For real, her gun is better than little DVa’s, the other most under-rated gun in the game (sometimes I’ll stay baby DVa on purpose, just to use that high damage, fast fire rate, good distance gun of hers). And NOBODY else just straight auto heals 20 hp a second, whaaaaaaat. If you go battle mode, Merc-no-Mercy, you’re a force to be reckoned with, laying down fast, accurate, high-damage fire and nearly bullet proof if you have any cover at all.  The thing I really like though, is how she  stays part of the bigger picture during gameplay. When I’m Mercy, I’m holding the choke (nobody has to leave to get health, I resurrect our shield tank instead of waiting on the respawn, power-boosted DPS is literally killing it). When I’m Mercy, I’m zipping up to my snipers - you’re healthy bae, keep laying down that long distance murder. When I’m Mercy, I’m on the point, I’m on the front line, I’m up on the ledge, I’m down behind the payload, I’m keeping you alive in the corner when Sombra has the health locked up and ambushes you as you’re trying to heal. When I’m Mercy, your Ult WILL be effective. Zarya, Mei, did you ult alone? Have some extra damage. Roadhog, Bastion? don’t worry, you’re gonna live through your whole ult, you tempting target you. Reinhardt, let me just make your after-ult charge super deadly. Soldier? come on, we’re gonna get a team kill on this one. Here, There, Everywhere, like channel 7 news; I’m Mercy and I’m on my way to you. You good fam? I’ll be back to check on you. Nothing is as exciting as locking onto a teammate across the battlefield, taking to the air, turning around and murdering an incoming enemy mid-flight, getting to my homie, filling their health, and zipping off to turn the tables in a one-on-one fight off to the side. My fingers are twitching just thinking about it.

Ok im about to be very salty and angry if u dont wanna read it just scroll away im begging
Everybody out here freakin out about the dva short but honestly what does it tell us about her
What world building does the plot contribute to overwatch
LITERALLY LIKE NADA
Blizzard does this thing where they pour ASS LOADS OF MONEY into quality animation... in order to tell us NEXT to NOTHING NEW. WHATSOEVER.
Tumblr media
Ok we get a taste of the media in the ow world as “peddling lies” and propaganda to glamorize a hero figure. That’s... Ok. Sure. But it’s not terribly out of the ordinary. Tell me why I’m supposed to care about it? Does it serve a purpose in the grand scheme of the OW plot? Does it wind the audience up in any kind of way outside of being a nice detail? NO.
If you have like five minutes to tell a story. Why the FUCk would you waste time on this if it serves like zero purpose?
“B-but Dani she’s fighting for her COUNTRY against EVIL ROBOTS” as if the entire fucking plot of overwatch doesn’t already pound the flaccid story of the omnic crisis into our skulls over and over again through every comic and video they deliver. Of all the things they could cover in this video.... they chose to show the hero who is famous for fighting robots in korea... Fighting robots in korea
Tumblr media
“She’s so quirky because she’s famous and could be living the high life but chooses to live like a young adult mechanic hobo gamer”
Ok this for me has to be the pièce de résistance of the whole video.
uhhh. We already KNOW MOST OF THIS. She has an emote where she eats fuckin doritos for FUCK’S. SAKE!
Tumblr media
Why the fUCK would you choose to use this as an attempt to create sympathy for D.VA...
no one.
NO ONE EXCEPT maybe neckbearded meninists who live in their mom’s basements. Can relate to this and feel empowered by it (while jerking off to dva’s catsuit ass). In this rotting capitalist world where most young people who play ow have to work their asses off just to buy food and toilet paper... you’re trying to use “she’s a skinny pale bitch who can eat all the junk food she wants and not become mentally ill and obese” as a selling point????? You’re saying she could have a HUGE reservoir of MONEY and STATUS that she just dumps out like an ungrateful lil hoe in order to go be a self destructive ass pilot while ignoring her friends??? If anything his makes me hate D.VA more than I thought possible!
Lemme tell you assholes something. If I was earning assloads of money off being a national hero you’re DAMN TOOTIN’ I would take my sweet friend out to a gala dinner and get us nice clothes. Do you know how fucking tough young adult life is Blizzard??? Do you?!?
The one small brownie point I can give here is that blizzard told us she can hold a wrench. Ok. D.va can adjust her own robot. Whoop dee doo. She has one skill aside from pseudo-soldier gaming. What else you got Blizzard
Tumblr media
“UM what about that BOY whom we’ll PROBABLY NEVER SEE AGAIN in the LORE” he serves literally no storytelling purpose except maybe to inform us that D.VA has a hard time asking for help and is independent. We don’t even get to know his relationship to her outside of “friend” and “probably crushing on her”. Speaking of which, wtf was up with that? Are they introducing an unrequited love story for disenfranchised young men to relate to,?? How do they even plan on following that up?
Why is he there
Tumblr media
It could have been lucio (whom we know people LIKE and like to see her interacting WITH) or some other returning character, oh wait. It wouldn’t make a fucking difference because this game company is so damn poor at making the audience form substantial connections to their characters. The thing that really GETS me is that the visuals are really cool! The animation is good!! They have the potential to make really heart wrenching narratives, and they are trying so hard. With the music, with the dialogue, with the visuals, and yet it comes across as a soulless deflated sludge of a balloon instead.
It’s fucking unsatisfying and it makes me pissed as an artist!!
Please .
Blizzard... !!!
You need better storyboards. Give the animations some actual passion. Write better plots on non cliche topics based around non cliche ideas ! It would make such a damn difference.

Mass shootings in the US are almost a daily occurrence now. They happen everywhere, to anyone, and this includes public schools.
This happens for a number of reasons. An incomplete list includes: the rise of white supremacy and other far-right ideologies in the US; the ready availability of semiautomatic weapons in this country; the refusal or inability of law enforcement to take repeat warnings about potential mass shooters seriously; and, I would argue, the ease with which white supremacist groups exploit and radicalize dispossessed young white men and teenagers.
These factors, however, don’t include violent video games, movies, books, or other media—including fanfic featuring canon-typical or even canon-atypical violence.
How do we know this? Well, because in the US, we are contractually obligated to go through at least one society-wide moral panic every generation or so. In the 1980s, we all freaked out about Satanist cults abusing children. In the 1990s, it was violent movies and video games making society violent.
Despite everyone from Al Gore’s wife, Tipper, to moralizing high school journalists—like yours truly at the time—freaking out about it, no one found any provable correlation. In fact, it’s such a canard in 2018 that almost no one has paid any but the most cursory attention to our own “president” blaming video games for the Parkland shooting.
Because everyone realizes that Donald Trump’s (limited) understanding of the world ended somewhere around 1994.
Now, to be fair, I think the US’s dominant cultural forces have always been entirely too comfortable with real-world violence of all kinds. My opinions on the reasons for this are off topic and would take several posts to even start exploring. But violent video games are, at the very most, symptoms of this comfort with violence—and even then, I think that argument is oversimplified. Because as far as I understand it, no mass shooter has a history of playing Call of Duty or what have you, and none have cited an interest in violent video games as the reason they opened fire on crowds who were enjoying a concert, or trying to see a movie, or just attending classes at a high school.
And even if they did, Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto or Halo didn’t achieve sentience, buy an AR-15, and go on a shooting spree. The shooter did that. And if a shooter will, someday, blame their actions on Overwatch or what have you, then I think most of us would understand that they have far more problems than even the most violent of games or movies could have somehow caused. Because it would be clear that they can’t distinguish reality from fiction—not to mention that they also would think that murdering innocent people going about their daily business is okay.
And yet, I don’t see anyone on this website arguing that we should ban first-person shooters because of school shootings—even among high school and college students, the demographics who school shootings actually effect. Seriously. I’ve been on Tumblr since 2011. I have not seen even a single post seriously suggesting anything like this.
I also haven’t seen anyone harassing or sending violent threats to people who draw gory, violent art, or who write hyperviolent fanfiction—as long as it doesn’t involve sexuality or sex crimes, mind you. Clearly, not just fandom at large but the entirety of fandom don’t see this as a problem.
Yet people then want to turn around and argue that not just fictional depictions of sexual violence but depictions of consensual sexual acts are somehow responsible for sexual violence because “fiction affects reality uwu.”
Sexual violence. Which has been going on since humanity existed, no matter what forms of fiction they created or had access to.
Why is the first idea not something anyone seriously considers, but the second is apparently common sense?
No, seriously. If you don’t see a problem here, then you need to reevaluate your thinking.
We’ve always been uncomfortable with sex in the US, whether consensual sex between peers, or violent crimes involving sex acts—uncomfortable in a way that we aren’t with violence that doesn’t have a sexual component. Which is one of the reasons we don’t talk about sexual violence openly, don’t educate young people about how to recognize it, and don’t do anything about it in society when it happens until people band together and make so much noise that we can’t ignore it anymore—see the #MeToo movement, for example. To say nothing of why no one has any idea of what even a healthy sex life looks like! We don’t enjoy talking about that either.
I think this weird combination of silence and permission when it comes to sexual violence is part of the reason people freak out about fictional depictions of it when they don’t about any other form of violence. I also think that the prevalence of sexual violence in society makes other forms of violence seem rare and even imaginary by comparison. For example, I think most people know someone who has been raped or sexually assaulted. I think far fewer people know someone who has been shot, stabbed, robbed at gun- or knife-point, or murdered.
But that still doesn’t make Call Me by Your Name or Sally Mae’s random DVa/Soldier 76 smutfic either responsible for sexual violence or the reason sexual violence is so widespread.
I’m pretty sure that the many boys and men who have sexually assaulted me weren’t avid fanfic readers. The mere idea that schoolboys in pre-internet 1988 would have had access to smutty fic that would have somehow convinced them that assaulting me in an open classroom was okay, is so laughable that I don’t think I can actually bring myself to explain why it’s laughable. I’m also pretty sure that Harvey Weinstein didn’t decide that sexually assaulting every actress in a five mile radius was okay because he ran a Wincest archive. And I’m pretty sure that movies or books depicting sexual violence in a less-than-negative light also didn’t convince Harvey Weinstein to rape and abuse women.
US society has always had fucked-up attitudes toward sexual violence and sex in general. Fanfic and fan art that explores sexual violence didn’t cause this and isn’t exacerbating it any more than Call of Duty is causing more mass shootings. In a world where #MeToo is still struggling to be taken seriously, how could it? Especially as fan culture itself doesn’t have societal influence outside of influencing itself.
So, if you’re going to go on a moral crusade against fanfic with sexual content that you don’t like, at least be consistent in condemning fanfic that glorifies violence. Or stealing. Or manipulating people. Or any other form of abusive behavior. If you don’t, then your priorities immediately become clear, and they’re not about protecting anyone or making society better.

I’m reading the overwatch forums to know if they are ever going to put symmetra’s autolock back on and I love how in every thread I read there are the angry genji’s mains who used to hate symmetra’s because they got countered by A SUPPORT HERO (because they can’t take a free kill against symmetra & moira lel)
The team who think “no aim no brain” needs to understand that Overwatch isn’t only a FPS, it’s a STRATEGIC game where you can use hero with soft aim (or autolock) if you want DPS only game you know CoD is here for you lol
 They are all like “Symmetra was useless above silver because people know how to aim :P” but I used to play Symmetra on high Gold/Low Plat and I had no problem carrying some games (not on every map obviously she was a situational hero) and the most important I felt SO impactful & even if people were salty I had so much fun
I want Symmetra’s 2.0 back with her photon barrier as E & her shield gen/tp as her ultimate (I know it’s mostly impossible because of Sombra’s rework) but I feel her photon barrier as E was a way to counter many other abilities like McCree flashbang/ultimate, DVa ultimaten or Widow sniping. I prefer how her secondary fire works because it’s way more fast (even if I liked the way it could pass through shield) & I think her turrets are good now (tho I would love their cooldown to be less because they are most of the times destroyable & it’s an important part of her kit so they needs to be set up faster)
Edit : “no aim no brain” team don’t really flame Doomfist ???? I mean he can easily one shot you without aim & if people who think it’s a fps game why Doomfist has no gun?
