I love to analyze characters flaws but I have a problem with the way a lot of fans do it because they’ll be like “hey this character has actually done some terrible things, you shouldn’t like them.” What if I told you those terrible things made me like them 100x more??

I really want to do more fanart, hope I will find the time (I wanna draw Kurapika sm). I actually have several complete HxH animatics in my head that I cannot do, it's frustrating af (literally the only free time I have I spend it watching this shit, i'm doomed).

Anyway this anime has occupied my entire brain lately. Or maybe 80%, the 20 other being a random book I'm reading (that I will soon do fanart of hopefully).

honestly Hanzo is kind of the nicest with Killua outside of the main four.

He's the one who grabbed Killua to stop him from jumping overboard after Gon,

He's the one who volunteered to go out with (and physically support) Killlua when they followed Gon to rescue Battera (special shout out as well to Bodoro and Goz, who hopped into the boat without question to row)

He's the one who stopped Killua AGAIN from jumping recklessly after Gon (and nearly getting clawed for it, Killua looked ready to murder him)

He continuously interacts with him without being demeaning to his age or afraid of his experience, treating him the same as he does Gon or anyone else. It's a sort of casual, normal dynamic with another person that Killua is particularly starved of.

The HxH manga is probably my favorite way to experience the series but for some goddamn reason in whatever version I’m reading they translated “chain user” into “chain dude” and that’s how Kurapika is referred to by every character for like the entire arc. And it’s really weird when Chrollo says it because his ass does NOT talk like that

thinking abt illumi always using hisoka's last name whenever they're outside mainly because the zoldyck name attracts too much attention and he doesnt want that but also because hearing illumi morow makes hisoka have multiple floaty hearts above his head and woozy for the rest of the day

illumi registers as "hisoka and illumi morow" in a restaurant and hisoka starts giggling and batting his eyelashes and follows illumi to the table with heart eyes while also floating behind him cartoon style

However, when Illumi hears "Hisoka Zoldyck" it triggers the most feral parts of his brain. His eyes grow so wide for a couple of seconds it completely betrays everything he'd just felt at that moment before composing himself. Hisoka obviously takes notice of that and is like. ohohohohoooo.

He uses it to tease Illumi while theyre alone ONCE. just ONCE. and illumi pounced on him like a predator. the quickest way hisoka learned that this was not just a reaction trigger word for illumi. it was an ACTION. he just has a godly amount of self control when theyre not alone.

speaking of common threads btwn favorite characters i keep thinking about the alluka/nanika and falin similarities mostly the being treated as dangerous and wrong as a young child and isolated yet still being so so kind and healing….and especially the kindness and acceptance of the parts of them that people treat as dangerous or evil…in terms of older brothers of course laios’s reaction to falin’s chimeraness and aptitude for magic is very different from killua’s initial mistrust/misunderstanding of nanika but. im so thinking about it
