Birdie has been working really hard and managed to save enough to buy a (very used) laptop for her business. Lately she’s been into crafting candles!

Birdie and Sean are in the habit of stargazing before bed and tonight Sean decided it was time to quit working at the coffee shop and pursue art full time.

hello Ana, a random challenge for you. because your legacy is so expansive, how would you rank each generation? in terms of enjoyment, how memorable it was, etc.

awww this is so kind of you! and such an interesting ask! this will be a very long post, i fear 😊

i've completed the eleven generations of the life for something legacy challenge. and yes, i loved some generations more than others - not so much for the generational goals themselves (because they are pretty well drafted and very cohesive) - but the side-story for each character played an important role to the level of attachment and enjoyment of the game!

it's going to be loooong 🤓

Zelda Harper - GEN5 - my favourite because of the side story, because of the generational goals, because of how relatable she felt to me and because it was during this gen that i started learning how to edit pictures!

Leonardo Harper - GEN7 - memorable because of how crazy this gameplay was! i derived a lot from the genrational objectives, but it was worth it! also loved the engagement and how other simblrs knew who leo was <33 thank you!!

Maria Harper - GEN11 - she hasn't appear yet but let me just say, her life was as crazy as leo's!! i decided to approach this generation following @ rebouks gameplay, which means i didn't focus so much on legacy goals and just captured the funny, fluffy and ridiculous moments while playing. i am eager to start posting this gen.

Ulysses Harper - GEN4 - because i loved the goals for his gen and i loved the traits of this gen too (ulysses is like a me-version). and also the idea of sending him to live alone on an island with a bunch of dogs was adorable. this gen allowed me to play in a very serene and fulfilling manner.

Theresa Harper - GEN1 - my founder! excelent generation goals and traits and loads of fun. i had never played a sim challenge before and theresa shall always be in my heart. she is also the responsible for my decision to hve all harpers immortal, simply because i couldn't imagine a game without theresa around <3

Virginia Harper - GEN6 - my favourite sim toddler EVER. i didn't enjoy her adult and elder life that much, i would have played it very differently if it was today. but her young adult days were chaotic in the partihaus!! other aspect i had never played with before - the clubs. but i loved it.

Heathcliff Harper - GEN9 - he is still being published, i know. but heathcliff life is very interesting! he recovers a bit of leo's adventures but it all turns around vampires - an occult i had never played before. and i really enjoyed it. loved forgotten hollow too.

Paris Harper - GEN8 - my sweet and silly paris doesn't get a top position mostly because after leo it would be diffcult to be THAT interesting! but sulani is marvellous and i really needed a vacation world after chaotic leo. however, paris elder days were... meh - i still haven't made peace with komorebi (it's a beautiful world, but i get bored too easily).

Ruth Harper - GEN2 - i loved child ruth soooo much now that i think of it! and this generation goals were amazing! i just had too much trouble in the beginning... i blame the mods i installed. i had planned a lot of things and then it all went poof! because she had a miscarriage. it made me so sad... that's probably why she's in this position, to be honest. also, i never got very fond of her looks...

Isaura Harper - GEN3 - isaura had such an interesting life it's almost unfair to be in this position. but the truth is that scientist career is soooooooo boring to me. and newcrest... i don't know, it was a gameplay that didn't sparkle!

Marcello Harper - GEN10 - my poor marcello... you haven't met him yet. he's such an handsome boy! but it's not his fault... the problem with this generation are: strangerville and evergreen harbor. i don't like these worlds and i was not imaginative enough to make the gameplay more interesting to me. i hope i can change it once i start editing pictures to publish!

honorable mentions to my new challenge founders -- grace harper and katherine harper, because alongside with charlie harper and wanda harper, they are my favourite spares and they totally deserve a chance to shine!

Hi! I'm not doing the Decades Challenge anymore. If you follow my story, you may want to read this update ☺️

It's a little long, so under the cut you go.

So! After a few months struggling with the way I was telling this story, I've finally decided to drop the Decades Challenge and Legacy aspects of the Normans and embrace the story format that I've been flirting with for so long. 

As much as I love doing the Decades Challenge, at the end of the day it is a gameplay focused challenge. The Normans started out like that, but now their story has overgrown it and trying to balance gameplay, generations and story progression has become overwhelming.

I feel guilty with every update because of its pacing. My story is stuck in the year of 1898 ever since April! Thinking about that was driving me insane. During 7 months irl, I've only covered 6 months of the story… You do the math for when I'll get to the 2010s jfglkdfjglkd.

In conclusion, I want to feel free. Free to tell the story I think my characters deserve. To make story posts without any progression, just contemplation, and not feel guilty. To have more diversity without being grounded to the challenge's restrictions. And to feel free to be poetic and immersive.

And, for that, a Legacy challenge just won't be sustainable.

Not much for the readers, really. I'm still going to post a few updates every month.

But it won't be called The Norman Legacy anymore. I've already chosen a name for it and I'll announce it soon 😊 I'm also most likely going to separate them into arcs or "volumes" that will stretch out for a few months each.

Nothing changes! 

I'm going to leave the older posts tagged as #gen1 and #norman legacy for easy access.

I might add a tag with the new title, though, so I can make a chronological page.

I've never had a simblr before, much less publicly converted a legacy to a story format, so I still have to figure out some of the technical details. Any tips or suggestions are very welcome ✌️😗

We are reaching a certain moment of the story that has been expected for a while. I'm sure you all know what's about to happen. Once it does, you will get payoff regarding another sub-plot and we will wrap everything up. 

I think the moment I've chosen is a pretty good one to stop at because it gives you answers, it leaves you in doubt and really paves the way for the upcoming narratives! Well, at least I hope it does 😅

Once I upload the final Norman Legacy update (hopefully in December, but might go over early January), I will make a little overview with where all the characters are at and hopefully that will help everyone out and ease the transition. I plan on starting releasing some previews after that.

I will be going on a break from storytelling before we start things off. I want to enjoy Summer in my country. Especially because I've been working on this story nonstop since January 2020. I'll still be on simblr, but just not working on posts and not feeling guilty about it lol.

I guess that's it :D

I'm sorry if this may be disappointing to you but I hope you all understand my decision and stick around. I'm actually very excited and feeling creative for the first time in ages, so yeah! And you can still call it the Normans/Norman Legacy if you feel like the new name is too much of a stark change lol.

And for those of you who have shown interest in this change and/or given me some support over this I just want to say thank you and I hope that you'll enjoy what is to come 🥰

I'm announcing it all as if it were some fucking big deal omg hhadiahuhdi I'm just a chatty person and I like to organize my thoughts, bare with me.

But yes. I'm almost reaching my Simblr birthday, which means that the Norman Legacy will also be turning 1 year old 🥳  And there is nothing better than starting off a new year than with some revamping, am I rite?

so.. stevie may or may not have gotten a text from makoa asking her out on a date the second she stepped back onto brindleton bay soil... she thought about it the rest of the night — i mean, her and keahe are *hardly* exclusive even if things are going well with him at the moment.. and who's she to think he wouldn't be accepting dates from other girls right now? needless to say, she accepted the following morning • go on five dates, each date is a different sim — 5/5 ✓
