*holds microphone up to pookie, do you wanna give me ideas for a mermaid/sea monster dazai / pirate chuuya AU? /nf :33
OOO that sounds fun, i can give you some headcanons that might help!!
i'm lowkey getting Moby Dick vibes, but instead of Chuuya searching for a great, mythical white whale, it's just a Dazai. :3
merman/sea monster Dazai ideas:
Chuuya's out here illegally fishing in uncharted waters because no one can tell him what to do and the waters far out to sea are quite literally a lawless land, but he's racing against time competing against other pirates
Dazai's supposed to be worth a pretty penny back on land, but all the fishing villages Chuuya came upon on land only spoke of some sort of vague creature that may or may not exist, so he's just patiently waiting until his line catches something out of the norm. he throws back all the fish and sharks he accidentally hooks.
Chuuya keeps changing his bait, and eventually he hooks something that says 'OW' and uhh, fish aren't supposed to talk?? when he looks over the railing and sees a tail flopping around above water, he's so confused and turns around and questions the nearby crew if they're messing with him, because it isn't funny
as he's reeling the line in slowly, the hook is caught in Dazai's tail :( Dazai flails around in midair and tells Chuuya, "Unhand me, heathen!" and smacks his tail against the ship
Chuuya's STILL confused, and did he accidentally drink seawater or something because is he hallucinating or seeing this right? a sea creature is speaking to him? he thinks it's a man who went overboard and he's not sure how he feels about saving this guy, Dazai's kinda staring daggers up at him despite being upside down
Dazai's in the bargaining phase and offers to lead Chuuya and his pirate crew to the great undersea treasure lost at the bottom of the ocean if he lets him go, dammit
a crewmember warns Chuuya this guy might actually be a siren trying to lead them all to their deaths. Chuuya thinks he has a good point, and threatens to harpoon Dazai. Dazai continues wriggling around and eventually frees himself and flops back into the water
still irritated by his poor tail getting caught, Dazai seems to retreat for a while and the waters become calm again until he returns with a vengeance and starts throwing things at the ship's hull, springing a leak
now Chuuya's annoyed because he worked hard for a lot of money for this ship and this guy won't leave them alone. he hears some sort of scratching like human fingernails against wood at some point, and when he looks over, he sees Dazai slowly crawling up the side of the ship?? it actually spooks him a lil when Dazai reaches the top
other Dazai/Chuuya hcs:
Dazai has pretty, iridescent scales that get duller if he's sick :(
he'd actually have a really pretty, albeit haunting, singing voice as a siren, but he sings about strange things like his prey's greatest fears. (he sings about loss and the crippling void left by losing everything he holds dear to Chuuya)
Dazai being some kind of underwater shapeshifter who can turn into a basilisk; you know you have the right guy because Dazai has literal snake eyes, forked tongue optional. and the sky turns dark and drizzled. he's just a sleepy, ancient guy and wants to be left alone and Chuuya's Not Wanted
admittedly, pirate!Chuu was in this for the money and/or poaching, but the fact Dazai speaks creeps him out
Dazai was rumored to be some sort of great leviathan who took no prisoners and this caught Chuuya's interest; a crewmember goes 'eek!' when they look overboard and see several glowing pairs of eyes looking up from the dark water
the bounty on Dazai's head turns into something more than just a trophy, people by the shore are legitimately terrified and Chuuya, as a renowned pirate, takes it upon himself to crack the case (probably a bad idea)
merman!Dazai likes sunbathing when he gets the chance, and he's accidentally beached himself a few times. sand does NOT feel good against his skin nor scales
alternatively: Chuuya's line hooks itself into one of Dazai's gills :(

HAPPY PROPHECY PEOPLE
Ok ok I know sad prophecies bad so I talked with the force voices and they gave me this
It’s kinda shit but idk
Spoilers for episode 10/11
So it’s the end of the season. Omega and the force kids have escaped with Emeri and Scorch and Tech has been revealed. He’s broken and hurt but obviously he has his family to help him.
Pabu…isn’t an option. The empire is there. They have been there. They know that that’s where the batch would return to. And the fact that Omega, Scorch and Emeri killed Hemcock makes them want to stay as far from the empire as possible.
They finally settle down. They get a farm on whatever planet it is that Cut and Suu ran away to. Or whatever planet they were originally going to in season one.
Hunter and Omega share a house. The other three brothers have their own. Each with their own room. They end up in the same room each night though. Comforting each other through the nightmares.
Tech works as a mechanic. He gets to spend all his time working on machines and he loves it. Phee decides to live with him and they build their own house. They spend their time inventing things and fixing the communities little whozits and whatzits together. Phee is there when Tech has nightmares about his reprogramming and time as CX-2.They never marry but are partners for life. Phee calls him Brown Eyes everyday and he calls her Pirate or on special occasions “Darling”
Obviously Tech figures out how to reverse their advanced aging. Hunter gets to grow old and watch Omega grow up.
Crosshair and Wrecker share their house for a long time until Crosshair gets fed up and becomes a bounty hunter. He only takes the big jobs that pay a lot so he only leaves for a month and then is back for a while. He never finds anyone to settle down with but is content with being Omegas older (younger) brother. Eventually he takes her on one of his hunts and Hunter just about disowns him.
Now Wrecker. Lovable sweet Wrecker. He meets the owner of the only restaurant in town. And falls madly and hopelessly in love with them. They cook, they are sweet, they love Wrecker and he loves them. He moves into their apartment over the restaurant and they get married have 3 kids together who all love their Aunt Omega.
Now Omega and Hunter.
Hunter gets his normal life as a father. He gets to grow old. Something he never thought would happen. He gets to watch his daughter grow up from a little kid on Kamino to a young woman blossoming in a beautiful galaxy. He gets a farm where he can hide in the hayloft when his senses get overwhelmed. He like Crosshair doesn’t think he’ll ever find a life partner. Until he meets the female owner of the farm closest to them. It’s on site, but they grow to respect each other and agree to disagree. It’s later on that they finally realize they like each other and get married. Hunter already has grey hairs but neither care. Both are content to finish growing old together. Hunter raises Omega in a steady home without the fear of her being taken ever again.
Omega gets to grow up. Without fear. Without looking over her shoulder. She helps Hunter on the farm and is in her mid 20s when he marries his beloved. She realizes that she misses her life exploring and seeing the stars. She joins Crosshair on some of his bounty trips but decides her time is spent better elsewhere. She doesn’t like the idea of having to take people without their consent. Even if they are bad. She falls in love with, to her brothers absolute horror a pirate Liberator of ancient wonders as she likes to call them. They travel the galaxy together seeing every planet that Omega never imagined. She always comes back with samples for Tech, treasures for Phee, exotic food for Wrecker, random packs of toothpicks for Crosshair, and stories for Hunter to be told around the campfire.
Every-time she comes home it’s a celebration. Wrecker and his partner bring food and their children, Tech and Phee bring the latest invention for everyone to play with, Crosshair doesn’t bring anything other than himself, Hunter and his wife set up a bonfire together joking and teasing each other about the correct way to stack the wood. The families all come together and sit around the campfire. Swapping stories as the Batch recall their time during the clone wars. Before everything that happened. Before they almost lost what they all held so dear. Family together, now and always.

ateez as d&d characters
NOTE: Remember, these are just my opinion and how I would classify them in D&D. You can have your own perspective, just don't be a hater about it. I also know that my D&D knowledge isn't perfect. Don't judge me.

Party/Campaign Concept: You never know what, or who, you will find out on the open seas. After spending his early years learning the ways of piracy and justice, Captain of of The Silver Light, Hongjoong, works to assemble a crew of trusted companions to join him on the high seas for adventure, anarchy, and retribution to those who abuse their power. After traveling the world, he found outcasts, rebels, and other like-minded individuals who were shunned to the outskirts of society because they did not fit the mold of "proper" society. Together, this ragtag band of pirates sail across oceans, assisting with an oath of justice, to bring justice, liberation, and adventure to those in need of it most - but, they have to find each other first!
Tumblr media
Hongjoong: Human Paladin
Hongjoong doesn’t remember most of his early years. He did his best to block them out as much as possible. The point where things began to turn around for him was the day he ran. Still a child, barely alive, tired and hungry, he ran through the streets of his harbor town, hoping beyond all hope that he could find a way out. He somehow managed to stow away on a ship, not realizing that that ship was the property of one of the most fearsome pirates to ever sail the ocean. At that point, all Hongjoong cared about was that he no longer had to return to the life he ran from. Hongjoong was discovered by the pirates a few days into their journey into open waters when one of the sailors found him rummaging through the pantry for food. Despite their notorious reputation for pillaging and other crimes, the pirates ended up taking Hongjoong under their wing, showing him that sometimes you have to cause a little anarchy in order to do some good. The captain of the crew treated Hongjoong like their own son, showing him what it meant to lead a crew and all of the skills it took to be feared by those in power, and beloved by those in need. No matter how many places they visited, their goal always remained the same - only take from those who have plenty, and give to those who have none (and maybe keep some to yourself just for fun). Hongjoong took every lesson to heart, forming a strong sense of justice and a desire to be a positive force to be reckoned with. When he eventually came of age, Hongjoong left the crew to build one of his own - one that would take on the mantle of justice and retribution against those who abuse their power. The first period of being on his own was harsh. Being the captain of a crew of one was not exactly the most rewarding work he had encountered, even on the ship he had managed to steal from a royal navy and redesign to his heart's delight. But slowly, as he took on more small jobs, stealing from the rich rulers of cities to give back to those in need, he garnered a reputation that would follow him everywhere he went. His stories began to spread like wildfire amongst the towns he visited, leading to him gaining the title of “The Charitable Pirate King”. His knack for chaos-creating, anarchy, and justice would end up reaching the ears and hearts of many, including those who would eventually become his crew.
Seonghwa: Half-Elf Warlock
All Seonghwa knew was that he was found on the front steps of an orphanage in a harbor town with a note stating only his name. He was taken in by the workers of the orphanage, but just because he had shelter does not mean that everything was fine. The conditions of the orphanage were destitute at best, and all the other children were regularly ignored by the workers. Even as a young child, he took it upon himself to care for the other children and the house they occupied - it was the only thing he had control over, and he was going to control it. That is when a plague swept over the harbor town, hitting the orphanage especially hard due to the harsh conditions. Seonghwa had his hands full taking care of all of his sick siblings, trying his best to provide them with the care that the real workers refused to provide them. One of the children, barely three, was much worse off than some of the others. Seonghwa regularly prayed to any deity he could think of, begging for the little one to be spared. One entity, one of healing and light, heard his pleas and showed themselves before Seonghwa, asking him if he would really do anything to cure the child. Seonghwa replied “yes” without hesitation, and so the entity bestowed powers of light and healing upon him, giving him the chance to heal the child. From then on, Seonghwa never had to worry about the little ones anymore, contracted to an oath of healing. As soon as he came of age, the workers kicked Seonghwa out of the orphanage, forcing him to take on multiple hard labor jobs just to keep himself afloat. That was, until, he heard rumors of a lone sailor, one who had taken the seven seas by storm - a pirate king in the making, “The Charitable Pirate King”. One day, the up and coming pirate king pulled into the harbor, parting the crowds as he made his way through the town. The captain approached Seonghwa, asking him his name. The captain introduced himself as Hongjoong, and reported that he had heard tell of someone in the village who had the power of light and healing. Seonghwa looked at the young captain, shocked, knowing that he was the person that Hongjoong was talking about. Seonghwa confessed to being the one with such powers, showing the light glowing from his palms that never seemed to dim. Hongjoong, seeing such potential in Seonghwa, offered him freedom - a place on his crew as his second in command. Seonghwa knew he had nothing left to lose, leaving the only place he’s ever known to embark on a new adventure aboard the Silver Light.
Yunho: Human Bard
Yunho grew up in a very loving home. The only challenge was that both his parents were forced to work to keep them afloat, leaving Yunho in charge of raising his younger brother. Yunho taught himself how to play the lute, using music and stories to keep himself and his brother entertained. Yunho quickly learned how to spin a tale full of fantasy and adventure. It was all they had besides each other, even though they knew that their parents loved them - until they didn’t come home. The boys never found out what had happened to their parents, but they knew that as long as they had each other, things would be okay. Because they were still young, Yunho took to sharing his music and stories on the streets in the hopes of earning money to keep them going. Yunho packed up what they had, and with his brother they began to travel from town to town, continuing to try and pick up some more money as they moved. They finally reached the coast, now well into their early adulthood, still sharing stories and music where they could without being run out by soldiers. One night, as they wandered the streets for somewhere to sleep, a kindly baker invited them in, taking pity on them. The baker provided them with food, allowing them to sleep inside the shop for as long as they needed. That was the safe place that Yunho and his brother needed to start over. Yunho’s brother began to work for the baker as payment for their kindness as Yunho continued his storytelling. That was, until, one day he ran into two other men while heading to his usual storytelling spot. The two men were scouring a map with intensity, seemingly trying to figure out where exactly they were. Yunho stopped to help them, before recognizing one of them - "The Charitable Pirate King", Hongjoong. For Yunho’s kindness, the captain offered Yunho a position in his crew. Yunho was initially hesitant, not wanting to leave his brother behind, which Hongjoong sensed. Hongjoong let Yunho know that his offer would remain open until the next dawn and walked away. Yunho scurried back to the bakery, desperate to speak with his brother. As soon as Yunho mentioned the offer, his brother immediately told him to take it - Yunho couldn’t spend the rest of his life looking after him, and he would be okay working with the baker. He told Yunho that he could always visit if he needed to, but that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity - he shouldn’t miss it. Late that night, Yunho left his brother to join Hongjoong on his adventures on the Silver Light. This is where he would eventually meet his best friend, Mingi, and become the light of inspiration and encouragement for the crew. His stories and music would always bring a lighthearted air to the others, one that would keep them going through their darkest challenges.
Yeosang: Half-Elf Rogue
Yeosang had no memory of his parents, who happened to be elven and human royalty. There were many, though, who were outraged by Yeosang's birth, stating that a half-human half-elf was blasphemous. One such person was his father, the elven prince’s royal advisor, who stole Yeosang in the dead of night, abandoning him where Yeosang would never be found - a large human village far outside their borders, whose street urchins took pity on him and did their best to keep him alive. As he grew, they taught him the ins and outs of survival on the street, from pickpocketing to various scams. His quiet demeanor and innocent-looking face kept him out of trouble while he snuck around to survive. It would be his sneaking around that would lead him to Wooyoung. One day, an adolescent Yeosang was wandering the alleyways a village, trying to lay low after his most recent pickpocketing spree when he heard a commotion from the other side of the alley - soldiers, clearly chasing after someone. Yeosang went to the end of the alley, laying in wait before a figure flashed in his view. He grabbed the figure, yanking them into the alley and covering their mouth as the soldiers rushed by. That figure was Wooyoung, a local troublemaker that Yeosang had heard about. To “thank” Yeosang for saving him, Wooyoung swore allegiance to Yeosang, refusing to leave his side (much to Yeosang’s dismay). However, Yeosang managed to find use for Wooyoung - he was now the (very loud) distraction to Yeosang’s heists. Together, they were a formidable pairing, managing to pull off even the most difficult of capers. Fully grown, Yeosang and Wooyoung became notable names in the thievery game - until one day, when they picked the wrong target. Charging through the streets of a coastal city, they scoured everywhere they could for a place to hide from the kingdom’s soldiers. They came across a menacing looking ship and raced aboard, finding a place to hide amongst the cargo on the deck. When they heard the soldiers leave, they stood up, only to find three men staring back at them - Seonghwa, Yunho, and “The Charitable Pirate King” Hongjoong. Fearing the worst, Wooyoung immediately began to spin a tale about how they got there, while Yeosang looked for an escape route - until Hongjoong began to laugh. The notorious captain let the two of them know that he had heard tell of their skills and heists, and offered the two of them a place on their crew. Knowing they had nothing left to lose, Yeosang and Wooyoung agreed, finally in a place where their skills could be used for the good of others.
San: Half-Orc Barbarian
San was actually raised in a very loving home - parents who adored him and cared for him, and an older sister who taught him the ways of the world. They lived mostly isolated on a farm, selling what they grew to the local villages. They were beloved by the people they sold to, and they always commented on what a lovely family they made. However, there were some in society that saw half-orcs as inferior. One day, as the family was tending to the farm, some strangers came begging for food and shelter. Because of their kind natures, San’s parents took the strangers in, not realizing that those strangers would be their undoing. San and his sister do not remember much of what happened next - all they remember is fire, blood, and suddenly only having each other as family. That was the day that would haunt San forever. Many years later, a now grown San was sitting at the bar of his sister’s tavern. She had made a name for herself, using the hidden inheritance their parents had saved for them to build the tavern that would keep herself and San alive and safe. He sat at the bar, nursing an ale that his sister had poured for him, when a group of already drunken thieves barged in. They instantly became a nuisance, harassing every other patron they came across. San could feel his temper beginning to boil at their antics. It wasn’t until they began harassing his sister, the most lewd and awful comments escaping their foul mouths that San snapped. He launched himself from his seat, charging at the group with force. Despite his powerful strength, San quickly found himself overpowered by this drunken group. That was when a group of strangers joined in the fray, beginning their attacks against the drunken thieves with ease. The unconscious thieves were soon thrown out of the tavern, leaving them to the constables for the night. San went to thank the group, the leader introducing himself as Hongjoong, “The Charitable Pirate King”. San had heard whispers of this crew’s adventures from some of the other patrons, but he admitted to the crew that he thought they were just a myth. The crew laughed, joking with San to not tell anyone - they had a reputation to upkeep after all. San’s sister thanked the crew profusely for helping and keeping her tavern safe, offering them a reward for their services. They declined any reward, but turned to San and offered him a spot in their crew, stating they could use his strength. San’s sister encouraged him to go, knowing that he was meant for so much more than just being a tavern bouncer. San left, promising his sister to send money and to visit often, before setting off with the crew of the Silver Light. There, they presented him with the weapon that would be his crowning jewel - a large battle hammer that only he could wield. San could use his passion and his strength to continue to fight for those who needed it, knowing he always had someone else to watch his back.
Mingi: Human Druid
Mingi grew up in near isolation, despite being born into a very deeply connected faction of druids. He was born on an island far away from any mainland, where the whole population lived in connection to the island nature and all its creatures. Despite being collectivistic, with every child raised together as a group with the same naturalistic magic, Mingi was always an outcast. It did not help that as he grew, he grew to be tall and broad, very different from all of the others. This led to him being teased and ousted, even though Mingi was an incredibly kind and gentle soul. And so, Mingi regularly found himself alone. One day, a now grown Mingi was sitting on the beach by himself, taking time to meditate to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. He was feeling at peace until he heard some of the others giggling, beginning to taunt him for his “scary” looks and the fact that he was all alone. Mingi did his best to ignore them, but they came closer, continuing to taunt him. Mingi began to feel his emotions taking over, the magic coursing through his body becoming too overwhelming to handle. He started to lose control, and he bolted for the water with the others chasing after him, shifting into his wild shape as he dove into the waves - a large, intimidating-looking whale shark. Despite being entirely harmless, the size and look of his whale shark form scared away those who taunted him, finally leaving him alone again. Mingi swam off, knowing that there was no longer a point in returning home - he wasn’t welcome anyway. That was when Mingi heard a voice above him, calling out if he was all right. Mingi, in his wild shape, peeked out above the water. A random stranger peered out from over the railings of a large ship with a concerned look. Confused, Mingi shifted back into his human form, and the stranger cast a rope ladder over the railing for him to climb. As Mingi crawled over onto the deck, the stranger handed him a cloth to dry himself off, again asking Mingi if he was okay, noting that he had watched Mingi be chased into the water. The stranger introduced themselves as Yunho, sitting Mingi down as another stranger walked up with food for Mingi to eat. They asked if he wished for them to bring him back to the island, but Mingi refused - he had no home anymore. That day, Mingi found himself in the care of the crew of the Silver Light, no longer alone. Mingi would still have nightmares of his time on the island, but Yunho took it upon himself to calm Mingi’s mind, always sharing stories and songs to bring him comfort. Mingi knew that he would never be an outcast again, finding a home that loved him no matter what.
Wooyoung: Human Barbarian/Rogue
From the time he was born, Wooyoung made his presence known. As a toddler, he would regularly yell “hello” to everyone he passed by, always asking questions and showing affection to those around him whenever he got the chance. He was full of love and passion and volume, a spark of joy to behold. However, that spark of joy would soon be dimmed. A cult raided his village, destroying everything and capturing all of the children for the sake of their master to be put to work. Wooyoung and all the other children were forced to build shrines for this cult in complete silence. Every day was filled with grueling hard labor, the likes of which no child should ever experience - and it nearly drove Wooyoung insane. Years he spent in silence, his light nearly snuffed out completely, until one day, he snapped. Tired of being forced into silence, Wooyoung screamed out, rallying the other children and teens into revolting. Wooyoung picked up a pickaxe and began to smash the chains that bound each child together, sending them into a full-fledged riot. Wooyoung and the other now older members of the group fought off the guards, his passion inspiring them all to liberate themselves from the cult. That day, every one escaped into freedom, leaving Wooyoung to now live his life as he pleased. He hopped from place to place, no longer afraid to use his voice, causing whatever chaos he needed to in order to keep him alive and supplied. This pattern of chaos-creating would end up being how he met his best friend, Yeosang. Wooyoung latched on to Yeosang, the two of them finding a balance and rhythm that helped both of them achieve their goals. Wooyoung’s loud, boisterous, and chaotic personality served as an excellent distraction for Yeosang’s silent, tactical means of getting what they needed. Even when they found themselves faced with “The Charitable Pirate” Hongjoong, Wooyoung did his best to get them out, even if it meant yelling, lying, or fighting their way out. Thankfully, that was not the case, and Wooyoung followed Yeosang in joining the crew of the Silver Light. Wooyoung immediately took it upon himself to bring everyone together, using his friendly demeanor to start breaking the silences that fell upon the still new crewmates. Though they would never admit it out loud, the rest of the crew (even Yeosang) were thankful for Wooyoung, because they knew without his overly-friendly and loud nature, they would never be as connected with each other. Wooyoung would never have to live in silence again.
Jongho: Human Fighter
Jongho was born to a family of nobles who served an arrogant, prideful royal family. These royals took their role too seriously, and made sure that everyone who worked for them “knew their place”. Even as a child, Jongho never understood what made them so different aside from their title, but his parents told him to keep quiet and do as he was told so he would be okay. And so, Jongho did as he was told, training in various forms of combat and weaponry to serve the family as a personal guard. From a young age, he showed great potential in anything he picked up, and had a knack for learning things quickly. He showed the royals that he was an asset to hold on to, even if it meant having to keep his opinions to himself. One day, Jongho walked through the halls of the royal palace, tasked with guarding the crown prince. Everything was quiet until one of the royal maids accidentally tripped and fell into the crown prince, nearly knocking him over. Before Jongho could even react, the crown prince shoved the maid to the floor, screaming at her in disgust for “daring to touch royalty”. Jongho was horrified at the scene - a grown man screaming at an innocent woman for an accident she had no control over. Jongho, without even thinking, immediately stood in front of the now distraught woman, still on the floor, staring the crown prince down with a glare. The crown prince ordered Jongho to move aside so he could “teach the wretch a lesson”, but Jongho refused, finally letting his feelings towards the royal family be known - they were crass, arrogant, and didn’t deserve to rule if this was how they treated the people who worked for them. Needless to say, Jongho was quickly banished from the kingdom, with nothing but his skills to keep him going. Jongho bounced around from town to town, doing odd jobs that used his skills well to keep him going. Still a knight at heart, Jongho regularly practiced his combat with any weapon he could find in the early hours of the day before heading into town for work. This habit would continue even in the harbor town he now resided in, stocking cargo ships and hauling fresh fish from the fishermen. One morning, as he practiced as usual, a voice called out to him, stating that Jongho was “doing it wrong”. Immediately whipping around to sass the voice that he was doing it properly, he came face-to-face with “The Charitable Pirate King” Hongjoong. The captain recounted that he and his crew had watched Jongho practice for a few mornings now, seeing his potential and skill. Hongjoong offered Jongho a chance to put those skills to use as a part of the crew of the Silver Light. Jongho, having nothing left to lose, agreed nonchalantly, walking with the captain to begin his new life using his power and knowledge to do what he wanted. He no longer had to be at the mercy of those who saw him as a means to an end - he was now the fighter that he longed to be.

Skybound had so many good ideas and concepts that I really like the season for. On the other hand, it fumbled like 80% of those ideas soooo hard that makes me want to cry.
(suuuper long indulgent rant about Skybound underneath cut read at your own risk)
Nadakhan is my favorite villain in a bubble. He’s this disgraced djinn prince who runs away from his home realm to become one of the most feared pirate captains in Ninjago and when he tries to return home, it’s all crumbling. He then exacts revenge on those who destroyed his home by manipulating them and toying with them psychologically, eventually trapping their souls in a sword? Badass, right?
Except that all of this cool characterization is contradicted and bastardized left and right. The season dumbs down the ninja instead of making Nadakhan smarter so he can win. When he gains the ability to make his own wishes, he resorts to immediately killing everyone. His obsession with Nya is really weird considering that she was the one who CAUSED Djinnjago to get destroyed.
Jay and Nya’s character arcs are really interesting too. In a bubble. Jay has to step up as a leader after all his friends were taken by this guy, who he has to face after he kidnapped and tortured him. He fucked around and found out the hard way and has to make up for it. Nya continues to struggle with her identity and coming into her own as a ninja and not having Samurai X to latch onto. They both have to fight to keep each other safe and make sacrifices and fall back in love.
Once again though, this is all fumbled and explored in a way that makes me tear my hair out. Jay is a selfish obsessive whiny asshole who’s pining for Nya is super uncomfortable and annoying to watch instead of cute or relatable. Nya is an even bigger asshole than he is. She lets Clouse get away in the beginning to throw a tantrum on Jay, which causes Nadakhan to be freed in the first place. She causes Jay to nearly get killed by the Tiger Widow and then get kidnapped/tortured, all because she was mad at him.
So many other plot points and character choices make me so upset it really detracts from the season as a whole. To name some:
Kai’s ultra inflated ego/obsession with social media and girls
Dareth
Forcefully inserted misogyny
All of the prison arc. All of it.
Ronin betraying the ninja for the police. I get he likes money, but the ninja saved his ass and he is a known criminal. Just a weird place to take his character.
The ninja turning on Jay immediately and effectively sacrificing him to the ultra deadly giant spider
Cole and Lloyd being unceremoniously/anti-climatically removed from the season so Jay and Nya could be alone
Marriage plot (specifically Delara and the marriage plot only ever being used as an excuse for Nadakhan to fight with Jay over Nya which is really gross)
I wish Delara was explored more and was not a creepy Nya clone for Nadakhan to drool over, ew
Dareth
Cole, Lloyd, and Nya using up their wishes immediately in really stupid ways
Tonal whiplash from the goofy lighthearted first half of the season to the dark hopeless second half
Echo Zane (before the Echo fans come after me, I like his character, but he just introduces a lot of plot implications that are never resolved or addressed for a character who has like 10 minutes of screen time max and never gets to come back)
We never learn why Cliff and ‘Libber’ abandoned Jay with the Walkers. Cliff obviously cared about his son, he made a shrine for him in his dressing room, so why did he never contact him before his death? What happened to Jay’s mom? Did Wu know? It’s annoying to have this plot point, only for it to never be explored in the whole show besides a line about being adopted in Prime Empire. Maybe we’ll get some context in Dragons Rising, but I doubt it.
We were robbed from a rematch between Captain Soto and Nadakhan
I honestly wouldn’t mind the ending, if it wasn’t for the fact that the writers can’t decide wether everyone remembers the alternate timeline or not. That and it’s seems like the events of Skybound don’t effect Jay and Nya in later seasons like at all besides a wink and a nudge at the viewer. Once again, Jay was kidnapped and physically/psychologically abused and tortured, and Nya straight up died. They are the only people who (completely) remember and gained what should be a massive amount of trauma but nope! Lloyd has more on-screen/canon trauma over Harumi than Nya does about DYING or Jay does about TORTURE. Again, I don’t think that Dragons Rising will explore this to any extent either.
I also don’t mind the whole trapping the ninja in the Djinnblade thing, I just wish the ninja could have had more screen time. Either by keeping them around longer before trapping them, or showing what inside the sword was like idk
Nadakhan and Jay are kinda weird because I’m not sure why he singled him out out of all of the ninja. I know the Doylist answer is that Jay is the focus character for the season, but I find it weird that instead of getting the other ninja while he could, he wasted a lot of his time toying with Jay on Misfortunes Keep. Why didn’t he just kidnap all of the ninja on Tiger Widow Island instead of giving them a chance of escape. His obsession with Jay could have been easily explained or explored it it never is?
TL;DR, Skybound is a mess of really good and really bad ideas Frankensteined together in the messiest, laziest way they could. I still like it quite a bit, but I would be lying if I said it didn’t frustrate the hell out of me.

For Pirate AU, the realization Peach has that now she has another immortal friend. Maybe she hasn’t quite come to grips with her romantic feelings for Plum yet, but she still has a new companion for the ages to come. On the flip side, Plum coming to the realization that she’s going to outlive almost everyone she’s ever known. Grey, her crew, any family she may be on good terms with…. And peach comforting her by saying she’ll stay by her side through the years to come, if Plum wants her to
See, theres a moment here that doesnt line up, in that Plum will realise she will live forever, and contemplate that for a couple months quietly to herself, seems to spend more time with everyone, try to connect to them all while she still can, spending time on each member of the crew so that they feel seen and loved. This is after all her family, and those related to her by blood were far from ideal, and ignored her wants and needs, so she's made this new safe group of people who all love each other, a ride or die group. But even now, she wonders what her actual relatives would think, would she miss them one day, would she regret not trying to communicate with them? She does not know. Grey sees her drift away a little more, asks whats wrong and she just seems preoccupied with thoughts of her old home. They were traditional people who wanted her to marry, be a stay at home wife, bare children, do all the painfully ordinary things she just didnt want, and scorned her when she ran away for adventure and exploration. She writes them letters but never recieves any in return, assuming they have cast her out permanently. Grey is...as consoling as he could be, he lost his family a while back and never had good relations with them either, but understands that quiet wandering, the 'what if'.
Eventually Plum and Peach have a moment alone, and it comes to the attention of the second in command that the captains sad, or...just preoccupied with thoughts of forever.
Peach feels fear stir, putting her hand on the womans shoulder beside her.
"Plum, you are NOT immortal." Peach knows this first hand, through monumental, devestating loss. "You still have to be careful, you will live for a long time, potentially forever if youre careful, but you could be killed by any solid hit to a vital point. It may take more to do it, but you still have vulnerabilities." And that fear becomes more powerful, she'd lost one Levithian, she was not prepared to lose another. "If trouble starts you run, you'll be the biggest target on deck looking like that, we can handle things without you being at the front, i'll keep the crew safe." A notion the captain refused to accept.
"I wont leave my family here, or you, not if fights start, we work as one. You can't stop me." She was right, as the leader of this ship, as a now powerful sea monster, she was free to make any choices she wanted and not a lot could stop her. Plum sees a normally calm woman beside her rub her head with a stressed expression, the sigh as she watched, planned her next scentence carefully.
"Well." Her tired eyes sat on the Levithian for one more moment, for a brief second she truly eminated the stubborness of her wife. "At least you've got some company for the long ride. If you want it." Peach looks away, back to the horizon, gulls on the wind as land sat close enough to see small specs, humans living their lives in the port there.
The little head leant on the immortals shoulder was a little surprising, a tentacle finding its way to her shoulder to pull her closer.
"I'd like that."
They sat, said nothing, a strange settling company knowing neither had to walk alone for a while, if they were careful. Peach hoped to whatever unkind, unfair god that may be out there, that they could just be careful.

Do you have any head cannons for Boros' backstory? Like how his childhood was on his home planet or how he got so much power?
WELL
Yes, I have a few. Thanks sm for asking
He was born in a lab. His people have very strong regenerative abilities, so some decided to conduct experiments on living subjects, both their own and others. Their goal was to make the ultimate powerful creature. They more or less succeeded, but not with their own species. An octopus like creature with telekinetic powers. That creature, named Geryuganshoop, grew too strong and broke out of the lab, destroying and killing everyone in the process. With him, there was another test subject, strong, but not as strong, but willing to help his friend along to escape. That was Boros. The two stole a ship and escaped from the planet. They were faced with many hardships and enemies, but Geryu was always there to protect them. Boros grew tired of relying on his friend to survive, and decided to become stronger. He trained and trained, learning from powerful masters across the galaxy. He sparred with Geryu constantly. Eventually he became stronger. Stronger than Geryu, than anyone in the Universe. In the process he and Geryu met others to travel with together, and they formed a group. Not abiding by the law, always traveling through space, stealing what they could from others, challenging whatever strong warriors they met. The group became bigger and bigger as Boros grew stronger, and they were now a feared pirate group known to most of the people of the Universe. Geryu was still his friend, his right hand man, as he ruled his pirate ship and laid waste on planet after planet. But as decades passed with no battles that would sate Boros’ lust, he became more and more depressed, distant. His relationship with his best friend was strained, now barely interacting outside of business. Then he hears of the prophecy, and sets course to Earth.
He was the strongest of his species, from the very start. The females of his species were generally much stronger, but he was an exception. In his youth, he was hot headed and cruel, seeking destruction and battles, challenging and killing everyone in his way. He was exiled before he was even an adult. He was sent off world on a small spaceship to die. He was in wild space, lost and on the verge of death, when he was found by a random explorer. They took him into civilization, and there, Boros learned to coexist with others. But he still craved for the excitement of a good fight, so he left with a few friends to travel the Universe to find warriors he could challenge. He became a pirate, the group becoming a huge organization spread across the Universe under his leadership.
He was the strongest of his species, from the very start. He united and ruled his planet, becoming a fierce leader. He grew bored eventually, and left to find other adventures. He meets the three warriors, he bests them all in battle. They follow him, and they recruit more strong beings, and form a pirate organization. Boros returns to his home planet from time to time, but is mostly traveling across the Galaxy to find a good fight.
These are the few I have for now, but I have to mention a certain backstory made by not me, but my friend, @lara60
Boros escapes from his oppressive home planet, and meets a band of pirates that take him in. He grows stronger and stronger, facing the challenges he and his friends face in their adventures across the Universe. This is an ongoing story on AO3, it updates every two weeks. It is my FAVORITE fic, period. The storyline is insane. It is so entertaining, engaging, and thrilling. There’s a whole ensemble of OCs that you’ll fall in love with as the story goes on. It is just too great. As of now, Boros is still not as strong as he is in canon, but he’s getting there, slowly but surely. And watching this young and naive Boros turn into the ruthless pirate lord we know from OPM is just an amazing experience.
Here’s the piece I drew for the one year anniversary of the fic
Tumblr media
This story is my fav backstory for Boros. I can’t think of anything else other than this fic that I’d consider his canon origin story. It’s called Dark Matter and I’m currently VIBRATING IN MY SEAT waiting for chapter 32 to drop this Saturday. It just gets better and better with each chapter. If you ever get interested, check it out!
Thank you so much for sending this ask, it is as always a delight to talk about my favorite alien boi💜

The Daughters Of Whitebeard
Commission for @shadytidalwavehideout
I'm sorry I couldn't do the fight scene, it was the first time I tried that and apparently I'm terrible with it 😥.
Laughter could be heard by his crew from the shore of the small island, many of the newer members wondering what had their captain laughing in such a manner. It wasn’t his usual boisterous laughter that came with hours of drinking and it wasn’t the chaotic laughter of a man who was a little too immature for his age, this was something a little different. Of course those who had been with him longer knew what this was. Two young women, one with short, white hair and the other with long, light brown hair and both sporting Whitebeard tattoos. Rei and Lilith, the only daughters of Whitebeard, infamous across the entire New World as the only women strong, skilled, capable, yet compassionate enough to carry the titles of child of Whitebeard. Women who could take care of themselves in the New World in a crew of all men, yet hadn’t become heartless in their bid to stand shoulder to shoulder with the stronger sex.
Looking at the girls, Shanks gave a somewhat mournful smile, though they were known for appearing out of the blue from time to time, today wasn’t one of their more spontaneous visits.
“I’ll admit, I was a little surprised to get your message that you wanted to meet today of all days.” Shanks said, shifting in his spot a little so that his arm rested on his knee, empty bottle of ale hanging limply in his hand. Today was the anniversary of the Paramount War, the anniversary of when the two girls lost one of the most important people to them.
“It was a somewhat last minute decision. We weren’t going to make it there on time and we wanted to see an old friend.” the brunette girl, Lilith, said as she glanced down at her own drink.
“Must’ve been pretty big to keep you two away. I suppose there’s a lot of people after the infamous daughters of Whitebeard though.” Shanks mused as he began looking around for another drink, grinning when the white haired girl, Rei, handed him another bottle.
“With the Whitebeard Pirates disbanded and scattered to the winds, it shouldn’t be surprising. We were strong even before we met Pops, there were bound to be plenty of people after us.” Rei said with a sigh, grabbing another drink for herself.
“Just makes me miss him even more. As Whitebeard pirates, we always had a target on our backs, but a lot less people were aiming for it with Pops around.” Lilith said, thinking about the mountain of a man with a wry smile. Shanks nodded in understanding, taking a drink from the new bottle.
“You know you could sail under me, I could use a couple of crewmates like you.” Shanks offered, the two girls shaking their heads in unison.
Pops will be our only captain, you’re a good man, Shanks, but he’s the only one we’ll accept.” Rei said a little sadly. He was the only man they believed should hold the honored title of ‘captain’. Though once upon a time, they would have accepted any man or woman strong enough to fulfill their requirements, their time with Whitebeard had changed that.
They’d once been two young orphan girls, forced to endure a hellish island owned by the World Government yet ruled by fear and death. Two girls who simply wished to escape from the nightly murders and blood stained roads, willing to do anything to impress the mountain of a man who had eventually taken them in. A still young Whitebeard, youthful and strong, second only to the great pirate king, Roger, who had denied them time and again despite their best efforts to prove themselves to him. Yet he always returned to the island, providing its citizens with much needed food, business, and safety. It was not until he saw the true hell of their island that he took them aboard his ship. Their island was too fearful to throw off the shackles of the World Government, too fearful to seek Whitebeard’s protection, it would never change and their hell would be eternal until they sought the freedom of protection from a Yonko. Though he feared what would become of a woman upon his crew, he took them in, their spirit, strength, and drive drawing his admiration. To survive such an island, certainly they must be much like himself, coming from an island of hell, seeking something better. Mere children, 8 and 9 years, yet hardened to the point of piracy, not asking for a playmate amongst their younger crewmates, but training partners. Those who could make them stronger to the point of division commanders. The division commanders, the strongest and most trusted of Whitebeard’s crew, positions they had once held, bounties and names to match their prowess. Queen of the Sea Lilith, so called for her devil fruit, the Mizu Miu no Mi; and Ripper Rei for how the spear wielding girl removed the heads of her opponents.
They were, indeed, pirates whom Shanks would have the honor of having sail with him, pirates he had the honor of being allies with, but they did not believe they would ever find a new captain worthy of the title. Shanks only gave a solemn nod, he understood. Much like there would never be another Whitebeard, nor would there ever be another Roger. Roger had been his captain and would be his only captain. Hearing a commotion at the shore, three eyes turned to look from the cliff of the plateau on which they chatted to see two ships anchored nearby with a third sailing closer. The first, a large ship with a dragon figurehead, the Red Force, Shanks’ ship; the second, a very small, modest ship only big enough for the two of them, easily crewed by only two people yet with enough space for what they needed. Finally, the third flew a white flag with blue markings, a large gray ship, a marine ship. The commotion came from Shanks’ crew as they prepared to fight their new opponents. With a sigh, Shanks stood up, offering his arm to the ladies. It would be best to leave now. Though a fight would be inevitable, it would drag on if they stayed.
“I’ll hold off the marines while you two get away, the Red Force can take more hits and my crew can fend them off more easily.” Shanks offered, smirking when the girls shook their heads.
“Have you forgotten just how strong we are? We were division commanders for the Whitebeard pirates. We can handle ourselves just fine.” Lilith said confidently, taking his hand and getting up before dusting herself off.
Hitting the deck of the marine ship, the two women got into fighting positions, smirking when the crew recognized their faces. Though they had expected to fight the yonko, Shanks, and his crew, they had not expected the two women as well. A yonko, his senior officers, and two ex-Whitebeard division commanders. Much like her powers, Lilith was fluid in her attacks, moving like the water she wielded, combined with the fishman karate and her water club, she was as deadly and terrifying a force as any. To her side was Rei, spear black with haki as she cut through her opponents. Not even the devil fruit abilities of the vice admirals that were aboard could penetrate her armament. Both ferocious and deadly, they worked together in a flurry of blade and water. The marine in charge regretted his attack immediately. Were he to take down Shanks, or even Shanks’ senior officers, he might be praised, perhaps promoted to admiral, but much like Whitebeard’s other division commanders, the two women could easily go head to head with an admiral on their own and the marines left woefully unprepared. Perhaps, if the vice admiral survived, he would think twice before attempting such a foolish decision; but as he stared into the red and blue eyes of the only two female Whitebeard pirates, his only thought, his only hope, was to escape with his head.

just a silly little thought after seeing the Pirate CBS au, because I kinda like it ngl just like imagine S/o is like a siren thing, prolly got lost in one of his island, and who know maybe he found them (human form) and like few days later found out they arent even human (by how they act in stuff ig-) its just a silly thought however...
Hehe silly thoughts go brrr
Pirate!CBS x Siren!S/o!!
Christian grinned as he pointed his machete and ordered his men to cause havoc on a poor village he had brought fear into.
As the pirates stormed into the village, a lone, single person didn't run. They immediately caught Christian's eye as they looked around in confusion. Amidst all the screams and panic, Christian approached this strange person with a grin.
"Not scared of pirates, are ya?" His dark voice rang through their ears. They kept quiet as they backed away from him, only for him to step even closer. Just as they were about to be backed into a wall, they ran for it.
Christian quickly ordered for a few of his men to follow him to hunt the poor thing down. The cheering and yelling from the bloodthirsty pirates only encouraged this mysterious person to run faster, eventually disappearing out of sight.
When Christian and his men stumbled onto the reef, they were confused. No sign of this person whom they had chased.
Just before Christian was about to turn back, he threw his weapon into the water out of anger. But just as he did that, something big in the water got disturbed and he could clearly see a dark spot quickly swim away from the shore.
Over the next days, he wandered the entirety of the island, searching for the one that got away. But he got nothing. It was strange, him and his crew could've seen anyone leave the island, so where had this one person suddenly gone?
Though it was one night while sleeping in the raided village when he heard faint sounds that sounded like singing. He didn't mind "visiting" people to release pent up desire from being out in sea for so long. He went to investigate without a second thought.
He followed the alluring voice and he stepped onto the sandy beach again. The moonlight shined on a figure sitting on a boulder slightly off the shore line. He could sneak a few steps further before the figure looked over their shoulder. His eyes widened, it was the person he had scared off.
"Captain. You seem a bit less glamorous than the last time I saw you." This time, this mysterious person spoke up and sounded rather confident, peaking the captain's interest.
"Well...you did call me unexpectedly." He said with a raised brow.
"I didn't call you." They bluntly replied.
"Oh, but after hearing such a beautiful song, I couldn't resist." He headed more towards the shore, looking a bit smug.
"I've heard a lot about you, Captain. I take it you go out in the sea often?" Their voice dropped by an octave, sounding more seductive.
"The sea's my home, don't really have anywhere to return to." He replied, shrugging his shoulders and stopping right before the water hit his toes.
"How sentimental. Can you come a bit closer? I'm having trouble hearing you over the waves." They soothed, turning more to face him to tempt him.
He smiled "Sea water's must be in your ears, darl', I can hear you just fine."
Their brows slightly knitted together "Well, I cannot. I-"
"I've met creatures of your kind before, the first one fooled me, but you won't." He interrupted.
With a bit of a pause and a confused look, they sat there in disbelief "...That's why I wanted one of your men instead." They growled under their breath.
Eventually, they got to an agreement and the siren got closer to him while he sat on a rock. Christian gladly told his stories to them, secretly growing a liking to them. They seemed too curious about him and humans in general, so it was a rather...peaceful interaction.
Always up for an adventure, Christian decided to visit his beloved siren numerous times, each time the conversation becoming more and more light-hearted but also more flirty. Each time they met, the siren got more and more above the water, only to get compliments from the captain.
And when they got on the same rock, the tension was undeniable. One thing led to another and Christian had the siren's chin in his hand and he looked deep into their sparkling eyes. "You can get a kiss from me, if you promise you won't drag me down to the bottom of the sea." "I can't promise that..." "That's good enough for me..." And with that, he made his sweet, cold-skinned siren have hot cheeks.
When the sea called him again, Christian made an offer to his now S/o: Either they split ways or they follow his ship. After that, the next morning, he set sail again, secretly thinking it's just him and his crew again.
Secretly, he thought that was the end of it, he got on his ship, set sail and didn't look back. So, when he was just relaxing on the deck by himself and he heard a familiar voice, his ears perked up and he looked over-board. There was his S/o who had clinged onto the ship to keep them in one place.
He was happy to finally have a partner in his life, so happy in fact, he kept it a secret from his crew to make sure he gets to keep a siren all to himself. They continued all their little talks and flirting and sometimes Christian even gave his S/o a gift from his treasures.
His S/o knew it was over for them when he seemed to be the one luring them in instead of the other way around. Even when Christian takes a moment to himself and lights a cigar to smoke, they seem to not be able to resist poking their head out of the water to let him know they're there.
After one visit, he suggested for his S/o to come on board. And after climbing an itchy rope, his S/o suddenly found themselves in his captain's cabin. "Are you sure Captain?" "Don't worry darl', no one's allowed here but me~"
If his S/o noticed a storm or another ship ahead, they made sure to inform him. And sometimes they got something in return from him, either a fish or a poor sailor's liver. Same goes for when he walks someone off the plank and his S/o gets to drown them.
If they take things to the next level and are really in love, Christian might actually present his S/o to his crew as his partner. They get their own outfit and everything along with a threat from Christian to his crew to not even lay their eyes on his lover.
Sorry for taking a while on this!!

Zen! Dinner's coming sooner than I thought - we decided to order in tonight - so instead of me talking about MY OC, tell me about yours (I'll talk about Quill later \lol/ after I eat!)
🥰❤️💌😎
I will talk about another Storm Pirate!
Her name is Yara!
Yara is a former resident of a sky island and has little wings. She's outwardly demure, mostly because of her anxiety, and is reserved around new people. Though she only is herself when she feels entirely safe, her inner nature is fun-loving, stubborn, and opinionated. She has a bad stutter and suffers from chronic migraines from a traumatic brain injury she received as a teen.
Yara ate the Mythical Zoan Bunny-Bunny Fruit: Moon Rabbit model, but I'll get into that in a minute. Her weapon of choice is a giant wooden mallet.
So Yara wakes up one day in the middle of the woods with a head wound, having no recollection of who she is, where she is or how she got there, or even her own name. She wanders for a bit until she stumbles upon a white rabbit caught in a hunter's snare. She figures that the hunter who set the trap will return eventually, and waits there.
A bear sniffs out the rabbit and lumbers into the clearing, scaring them both. Yara knows she can run and the bear will eat the rabbit, but can't leave it, feeling that it's a terrible way to go. She frees the rabbit, who runs off, and the bear charges her.
A human-sized, bipedal hare wielding a giant hammer appears and smashes the bear, saving her. The white rabbit is with it, and begins to talk to her. The rabbit says he is a Moon Rabbit and the prince of the Lagomorphs and that by saving his life, she has committed a great deed.
Confused and without much choice, Yara lets the rabbit and his hare guard take her back to the Warren, an under-cloud location among the sky island that is the Moon Rabbits' home. There's a whole system of Moon Rabbits (royalty), rabbits, hares, and pikas. Her wounds are patched up, and she's taken in. With no memory of her own, the Lagomorphs adopt her, and she's revered as a hero and given a name--Yara, after one of the rabbits' ancient heroes, Yaratavi.
Yara is ritually accepted into the Moon Rabbit clan and given her Devil Fruit, which only grows on that sky island. Aside from the usual transformation and strength boosts, it gives her all the power that Moon Rabbits possess: the ability to create illusions, and the ability to warp short distances between any points that are bathed in moonlight. She also is stronger depending on the phase of the moon and how much moonlight is visible in the sky, and has accelerated recovery based on the same moonlight principles.
Yara is trained by the hare that initially saved her, a royal guard named He-Who-Races-The-Wind (Ray for short--all hare warriors have deed names like that) and becomes a warrior for the Lagomorphs.
The Storm Pirates meet her a few years later when they wind up on the Lagomorphs' sky island. Initially attacking them, she relaxes after learning that they come in peace, and take them to meet the Moon Rabbit royals, thus commencing the start of the Moon Rabbit arc of the Storm Pirates.
I haven't gotten the story figured out yet, but some important points are that: 1. big prey/predator themes, 2. The Moon Rabbits are capable of creating the fabled Elixir of Life, said to grant eternal life, and thus have been hunted by the humans of their neighboring sky island, and have strife with them. and 3. the Storm Pirates and Yara discover that the Moon Rabbits set her up. The royal Moon Rabbits sent a group on a raid into the neighboring sky island, in a mission to kill the human who was in charge of hunting the Moon Rabbits. This group included Ray. They went during the night, broke into the home, and started killing the humans inside. Ray was about to bring his hammer down on one of the humans in their bed when they woke up--the hunter's daughter. She looked at him with wide, fearful eyes, and in that second, Ray recognized that look as the look of a prey animal witnessing a predator. He hesitated too late, so instead of the hammer blow killing the girl, it instead injured her severely. Ray panicked and went against the group, saying they had to help her, and after arguing, he brings her back with them. The royalty decides they can make use of this, but will first test the human girl to see if she's worthy. They patch up her head and once she wakes up, uses illusion magic to make her think she sees a rabbit in a trap, and then a bear.
When Yara finds out the one who caused her TBI was Ray all along--who protected, mentored, and cared for her--it's a difficult moment.
In the conclusion of the Moon Rabbit Arc, Yara joins the Storm Pirates.
Her signature move is "Comet Hammer". She also has a move that she inherited from Ray, a barrage of hammer strikes called "March Madness".
In her awakened form, she grows antlers, and combined with her wings she resembles a wolpertinger.
Thanks for listening!

CaptainCroc ask (or as I call them, Goldenhook):
Wholesome: what kind of candy do you think they’d eat on Halloween? And would they share or would they bicker about who gets what?
Not so wholesome: who do you think dies first? (If we’re sticking with Hook’s lifeline being longer due to his stay on Neverland. But also if you want, throw in some ideas about Hook being a dark one too cause I feel that has POTENTIAL)
Lucky for me my siblings just brought me a bag of candy from a parade a couple days ago so I've been able to do plenty of first-hand research on this lol
The thing they fight over is 100% the chocolate stuff. Milky Ways (they've definitely almost gotten divorced over a Milky Way Midnight), Twix, M&Ms, Reese's Cups, all those. For Hook, I really want to say somebody handed him a package of Swedish Fish once and he tried one and went "who had the audacity to call these fish?" but then they kind of became his guilty pleasure. For Rumple, my first instinct is to say he wouldn't like any of the artificial fruit flavored candies, but y'know the guy did eat a burger once, and apparently he likes ketchup, so I'm gonna say his other favorite is the classic Twizzlers.
Now the hard part. I have spent entirely too much of my time thinking about who dies first, because there are just too many juicy options.
I'm tempted to say neither of them dies; in a relationship with another villain (and I'm pretty sure Hook would still be a villain if he was with Rumple, mostly for family reasons) Rumple wouldn't hesitate to use whatever incredibly dark magic he needed to keep Hook alive indefinitely. They outlive all the heroes, probably return to the Enchanted Forest bc realistically what the heck are the Dark One and his pirate husband gonna do in Maine, and they basically rule unchecked for all eternity. Maybe they get a little more mellow as they age, and eventually they fade from unquestioned lords of the land into these semi-mythical beings; Hook is the thing all sailors pray to and fear, and Rumple is the thing people only whisper about in broad daylight.
Now, if Hook became a Dark One, there's obviously two ways that could go down: either the way it did in Camelot or he kills Rumple (which means Rumple would die first). The more angsty way is if he kills Rumple, but there's not really a good reason for him to do that if they're together. Maybe another villain steals his heart or uses illusions to manipulate him into taking the dagger and killing Rumple, which honestly isn't too bad of an idea. Said villain expects to be able to kill Hook and get the power for themselves; they just knew it would be easier for him to kill Rumple than to do it themselves, but Hook wins and becomes sort of a vengeful ghost, slowly but surely undermining the heroes in a plan to slaughter them all as punishment for not defeating that other villain themselves (what are heroes for, after all) and the heroes find a way to kill him because there's no other way to stop him. He and Rumple are reunited in the afterlife.
If it goes down like Camelot and they're both Dark Ones, it's probably pretty similar to the first scenario, because they're both theoretically immortal. But in this situation, I think Hook would take the original darkness from Rumple, less to protect other people than to keep the darkness in the family, and when he's transported to Camelot he realizes he can use the other half of Excalibur to give Rumple back some darkness, and make him immortal again. So of course Hook does that, with a Dark Curse along the way bc why not, and then the heroes have to solve the problem of what to do with two Dark Ones running around Storybrooke. They steal Excalibur and offer Hook and Rumple the choice of death or having their dark magic cut away. Rumple's been pretty close to death recently, so he says he'd rather lose his magic than die, but Hook is totally mad with power and won't settle for that. A mega-battle is waged and in the end the heroes kill Hook in front of Rumple and then he goes totally nuts and probably takes down at least one hero with him, but he's also killed because there's no other way to stop him.
If they're both mortal for some reason, then I think Rumple probably dies of old age. In this scenario, they're both mellowed out a bit, because they have less power than if one or both of them was the Dark One, so Hook either waits patiently to die and be reunited with Rumple or he does the classic old-people-in-love thing and dies within days to weeks of Rumple.
As a generality, I think Hook seems to win the Dies Last award, mostly because it's fun to kill off the immortal guy before his mortal husband, but also because it's fun to kind of twist around the guy who canonically died first and say "well if he was a villain, would that still be the case?" and I think the answer is no, if Hook was a villain in love with Rumple, another villain, it wouldn't be. (Although I'm kind of enjoying the neither of them dies scenario, them being sort of eldritch gods of terror in the Enchanted Forest a couple hundred years later is a slay.)
Anyway the point is I couldn't decide who to kill first so I just invented ways for both!

The Loose Ends
Pathfinder Pirate Campaign Character Reflection
Session 18-19
Context: We finally made it the ball we've all anticipated so much, but everything went wrong. We got what we came for -the obsidian amulet- without a hitch. That wasn't the problem. The problem was Piper's supposed forbidden lover, Viktor, showed up, and revealed was actually her husband. Eventually he revealed he wasn't a man at all. He was the Man in Yellow, Piper's patron, and the BBEG of our campaign. The session ended with the Ghost Captain's return, the reveal that our Captain was the legendary Diego Vasquez from centuries ago, and his subsequent beheading before we could save him.
Content Warnings: Death, grief, death of father, death of father figure
~
I’ve only screamed like this one other time in my life. Howling. Primal. Not fearful. Not mournful. Angrily. Furiously. Righteously. My world is gold.
As I ran through the streets, the scroll bitter in my mouth, I didn’t know what my plan was. Just get to the ship. Just get it away from her. My feet bring me to the Captain’s doors. My distrust of him was fading away. I found myself turning to him more and more. I wanted to go to him, to place my confidence in him, and his in me. Maybe I just wanted him to look at me like Captain Thorne did.
The scroll confirmed what he and Vida already suspected: Piper serves the Man in Yellow, knowingly or not. And now Edward… I didn’t mean for him to read it. Everything happened so fast. It was all getting so big, so out of hand. And Piper was holding something back, as much as I wanted to believe the opposite. It was getting harder and harder to ignore.
And the Watch… the Watch was accusing me, I knew it in my heart. Something was wrong, but again, I lied to myself, told myself they would take care of everything. But they looked at me, all of these familiar faces, ones I had drank with, celebrated with, served with, looked at me like I was a traitor. How in the hells could they think I would do this to my own people, my family?
Finally we’re at the ball we’ve anticipated so much, the stakes are so high, and I can’t focus. I’m so angry and confused, and I don’t know these peoples’ dances and pleasantries. I realize how out of place I am, and it only fuels my anxieties. I’m about to burst at Piper, when he approaches, and calls her “wife.”
Ever since the conversation with the captain, after the stalker in the tent- No. No, I’m lying to myself, and I can’t keep doing it. Ever since Piper first told us her story, I knew something was off, something was missing. She did not give us the whole story, but I left it alone, convinced myself she was young, naïve, lost. I let it blind me. The façade, the lie I was telling myself, finally comes crumbling down. Not only was she withholding, the tale she wove for us was entirely untrue. She was lying from the very first, she who I had called “sister.”
Edward slips me the amulet, the thing that brought us here, and it gives me a welcome distraction. I must find the Captain and Vida. I search and I search and I search. They’ve slipped into the crowd somehow, away from me. I glance up and see Piper on the balcony, standing with a man draped in yellow, and the Captain’s voice is in my ears, commanding us to leave. A familiar feeling washes over me. I let the adrenaline take me, and I make for the doors we entered through, but stop cold when I see him, his sword plunged through the Captain’s chest.
“Diego.”
It’s as if time freezes. In that moment, that split second, everything comes together. The puzzle before us, of which we only had the frame, suddenly filling up. The pieces slot together. The Captain, Vasquez, Piper, the King in Yellow, the Watch, their accusations, the demons, the picture becoming fuller. There’s just a few pieces missing: Us.
The blade comes down before I can complete the puzzle.
I’ve only screamed like this one other time in my life. Only once before, when they dragged me from my father’s room when he slipped through my fingers.
My throat rips and tears, the amulet hot and sharp against my chest. I roar. I bellow. My eyes and my heart burn, and my world is gold.

19 sessions in, and we're just getting started. Feel free to send me any questions!

Abilities: enhanced senses, siren voice (with limitations ) , healing touch & vocal mimicry weaknesses - enchantment susceptibility, loss of voice & magical boundaries + being half human Have you always been aware of your abilities?: No, as a child, my father tried to make sure I wasn't aware as he didn't want me being able to overpower him, though that turned out to be a very grave error for him. As I've gotten to learn and understand them, however, I have come to enjoy them more than I initially did. Favorite Magical Items: Oh, my enchanted conch shell, of course ! I was hesitant toward it upon first receiving it, but after getting to know and understand it, it's truly a comforting thing to have whenever I feel anxious or stressed. Listening to the voices of the sea has always calmed me. In addition, though I'm not sure it's truly a magical item, I uncovered a seashell amulet my dad had hidden that belonged to our mother that I never take off. What supernatural creature is your character most scared of?: Hmm, admittedly humans are quite terrifying despite not being supernatural and when they band together and manipulate those with power, it becomes even more terrifying. I've also always been weary of vampires. Who or what would they die for? Their brother and their crew. Does your character fight or flee? Taunt and then fight.

Hobbies: painting, working out, swimming and exploring, treasure hunting, music & sparring
Habits: observing those around her, finding ways to disguise herself / blend in to learn more about others true intentions, self-care, journaling through her paintings, oversleeping, excessive self-criticism
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT Q’S
your answers to these questions do not have to be in depth, though of course they can be! they’re just here to help you grasp your character a little more, as well as for me to get an understanding !
QUESTION ONE: were you born on the island, if so, what kind of curiosities do you have about the world beyond? if you weren’t, what do you miss about the world outside veritas isles?
No, though I've heard rumors that my mother was or at least, has ties to this island though I've yet to meet someone that claims to be her or knows anything about her. Not that I know much myself.
QUESTION TWO: what is your favorite part about the island?
Being close to my brother and crew, though I do miss the days when we were out on the sea, it has also been nice to keep them close while connecting with other merfolk and learning more about my roots.
QUESTION THREE: if your character is supernatural, do they fear humans? if human, do they fear the supernatural?
Yes, given the tales they've been told of how humans treat merfolk, it's impossible not to be, though there are laws against it at Veritas Isles, being raised by a pirate, she knows more than anyone that laws are made to be broken.
QUESTION FOUR: share a fun headcanon or fact about your character! this doesn’t have to be long, just something to introduce us to your character!
In a world where gender dictated worth, Kai's very existence was deemed inferior by her own father. Her childhood aboard the ship offered fleeting respite, but her father, a twisted puppeteer, decided to banish her to a boarding school. There, she was to be molded into the meek, obedient wife he envisioned, destined to be a pawn in a marriage that would grant him immunity in his treacherous pirating escapades. The sinister truth pierced Kai's soul, but it was her twin brother who dared to rise against their malevolent patriarch. Through countless thwarted attempts, they meticulously plotted their rebellion, slowly gathering allies among the crew who had become disenchanted with their father's lies and manipulation. Finally, their moment arrived—a brutal upheaval that cast their tyrant father and his loyal followers adrift on a desolate island, abandoned to their own devices. And so, their fateful journey led them to the unforgiving shores of the Veritas Isles, where the shadow of their past loomed heavy, forever marking their tragic tale.
ADDITIONAL HEADCANON
Kai's time at the boarding school, initially seen as a prison for her spirited nature, transforms into a crucible of resilience and rebellion. Constrained by the suffocating expectations placed upon her as a woman, Kai defies societal norms at every turn. While the school tries to mold her into a demure and obedient wife-to-be, Kai embraces her true self in secret, honing her physical prowess and intellectual curiosity through clandestine martial arts training and voracious reading. She forms a secret alliance with like-minded individuals, a group of outcasts and rebels who refuse to conform to the school's oppressive ideals. Together, they navigate the hidden corridors and forgotten passages, unraveling the dark secrets that lie beneath the school's facade of conformity. As they challenge the status quo, Kai emerges as a charismatic leader, inspiring her fellow students to question their roles and seek liberation. Through acts of defiance and covert resistance, Kai becomes a symbol of empowerment and defiance, a beacon of hope for those trapped within the confines of the boarding school. Her legacy lives on, whispered among future generations of students who draw strength and inspiration from her indomitable spirit, forever challenging the limits imposed upon them.

Speaking of Tony and Legs. It's time for Louie. Master Gunner = He usually makes sure that all cannons and weapons are in working order, this guy usually leads a small groups who each operated on the artillery on the ship. To become a good gunner took years of practice and training. Which got me thinking, Louie was possibly a young kid in Italy who dreamed of nothing else but to become a gunslinger, now his parents weren't happy with that since being a gunslinger was not exactly a real job and they couldn't imagine their own son operating guns. They talked with him and tried to get him to settle on becoming a butcher like them but in the end they settled on Louie becoming a Master Gunner in the Navy. Now Italy didn't have a Navy at this point so they sent him off to Britain so that he could study there, he managed to get a job as a Powder Monkey and slowly rose up in the ranks. His Officer was impressed by the little kid's ambition and hard-work. (Side Note: In this AU, Louie was born in 1693 so it would make him about 23 in 1716 when he's apart of Tony's crew. Meaning he would have been 16 years old when he first met him in 1700) Eventually the day came where Louie was allowed to come with on an expedition to the Caribbean, though they were soon under attack by Tony’s crew and once all members off that navy ship were killed or thrown overboard, Tony saw Louie as he was curled in a corner, afraid of what was even happening. The captain was a feared and ruthless killer but after seeing this lonely kid being scared half to death, he took him into his own crew and treated him like his own son. Now he operates as the Master Gunner. Cabin boy = This is a very low-ranking employee off a pirate ship, usually taken hostage or kidnapped, they attend to the needs of the pirates and are servants to them. Frankie absolutely takes this role, he likely is a hostage and just over the years that they continued to keep him he just slowly became part of the family. Feel like they either got him directly from Sicily when they were on the run or they just took him when they raided an Italian merchant ship. Heh, it's funny how they just saw him and Immediately went, "Yeah, you're ours now." and he's like, "Okay?"
Now to just have filled the main roles with the main characters. I did order more minor mafia members into roles as well like Joey “The scar” who could be the Boatswain, this man was in charge of keeping the ship in shape for travel and battle, they would supervise all activities on the boat and I feel like Joey would take that role. We do not know anything about him from the show but he does seem like a serious man with a sweet side to him. Then there’s the Carpenter, who mostly answered to the boatswain, was in charge of ensuring the ship’s structural integrity. Being tasked with fixing holes after combat, making repairs after a storm, keeping the masts and yardarms sound and functional, and knowing when the ship needed to be beached for maintenance or repairs. Willie whatever definitely takes this role, fitting since I also headcanon him as a mechanic in the original show. And I just wanted to include him into this since it would be funny if Joey wanted him to do something and Willie would be like, “Whatever.” and not do it until 5 minutes have passed. He’s just a dude that procrastinates a lot, cut him some slack Joey. Sonny Go-Along would most definitely be the musician on board who gives the crew members some entertainment and lifts their moods up, maybe they took him from another ship or maybe Sonny just signed up to become a musician on board Tony’s ship. A few others I made some thoughts about are Jimmy “The Snitch” who likely could be a French nobleman who once got caught by Tony’s gang and held aboard for ransom. While there he overheard everything that Tony had on plans for their next raids and where to set shore, once the ransom was paid and Jimmy returned back to France he immediately told everything to the government of England over what the fearless and notorious Captain Fatso Antonio had on schemes. Luckily the crew could escape these hunt downs by the English but man were they pissed after they found out who snitched on them. Now to Tony’s crew, They're most definitely all Italians who were outlaws in Sicily and on the run from the police, they needed to go somewhere where nobody could find them and where they still could operate their many businesses from. So they settled on a life on the sea in the Caribbean.
Imma stop at this point since it's getting rather long- but those are just my ideas poured out.

Note
okay, so my original story is still kind of in the planning stages, but i would love to tell you about my three unlikely besties who are the main characters !!
first we have lysie, my non-binary pirate child whose perspective the story is from. they’re the child of a very famous pirate captain who is feared across all three seas in the land, and so they’ve spent pretty much their whole life on the water training to take over their mother’s ship. they’re a total badass when it comes to all kinds of weapons and fighting, but they’re very socially awkward. when their mom and her entire crew are kidnapped by an evil mage who was thought to have been killed a hundred years ago and has suddenly returned, they make it their mission to defeat the bastard and save their mother and crew… even if it means teaming up with a siren, a member of a species their mother always told them were evil and the natural enemy of pirates.
next we have said siren whom lysie is reluctant to team up with, xella. she saves lysie from drowning when they’re swimming to try and save their mother when she’s first taken, and even though lysie takes it as an attack and almost immediately tries to kill her, she still tells lysie what’s needed to defeat the evil mage and save their mother and crew and offers her help. her siren pod has a special grudge against the mage from when he was wrecking havoc a hundred years ago, and xella, who’s always been something of a disappointment to her family, thinks that if she can help defeat him then she’ll be able to gain her pod’s respect. since sirens can use their magic to change into ( mostly ) human forms, xella and lysie’s first stop is to go back to the town lysie’s crew was docked in when they were taken to steal a ship and supplies, which is where they find the third member of their little ragtag crew !!
now, sagran is my little aro-ace twink of a fire mage, and the third member of lysie’s world-saving crew. he’s actually the great-grandson of the mage who defeated the story’s big bad a hundred years ago, but his family has long since gone broke and fallen from grace, which is why he’s living in the tiny harbor town where he runs into lysie and xella and has only enough magic training to not start a fire every time he gets overwhelmed, since there’s no magic training school in the town like there is in bigger cities. as you can imagine, he as a fire mage is not very happy to have to do this whole adventure on a ship and venture into the sirens’ underwater capital kingdom, but he’s desperate to restore his family’s reputation and hopefully even earn a job as a mage in the human kingdom’s capital, so he puts up with the dampening of his powers that comes from being surrounded by water - plus, he’s pretty sure he’s starting to become friends with this scowly pirate and siren who has very little idea about human customs.
and that’s my three main babies !! they definitely become their own little found family, and lysie and xella also eventually become a really cute nblw couple 🥰 again, the story isn’t all the way planned out yet, but i’m still totally up for questions about these three babies !! <3
Oh my gosh I love them!!! Xella wanting respect and not having it reminds me a little bit of Amali, who is incredibly skilled yet treated badly and like and outsider by the people in the rebellion.
Sagran is the greatest name ever I love it, and he's very brave for going under water being a fire mage.
Aaaaahhhh I love Lysie!! They just wanna save their mom and crew...I totally vibe with that!
Thank you for sharing!!! I'll be shooting some asks about them soon!!

The Journal Of Captain Willard D. Cradingson Of The Landshark
The Journal Of Captain Willard D. Cradingson Of The Landshark
“A couple years ago I owned a farm myself, it actually was pretty successful for a while, but then a new farming company came to town. They bought up most of the farms in the area. I chose not to sell since I was well off at the time and business didn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The moment this company started selling crops I began losing customers, I couldn't compete with their prices, eventually I couldn't even afford to stay in business and the government took my farm and house. I bounced around from job to job but couldn't hold one down for more than a couple months and eventually I just gave up. I decided that I would just become a pirate. I had heard stories about them ever since I was a kid and it sounded like fun. There was only one problem, I am deathly afraid of the ocean. Like I can't even hang out on the beach. So, I did what any normal, sane person would do and I created what was essentially a land ship. I set sail for Canada in order to start a farm and a new life, plus I would be safe from US Law enforcement. That should catch you up to speed.”
-Captain Willard D. Cradingson of the Landshark
 Mar. 15, 1920
We set sail down the hills of Iowa; Trevor appraised our haul. “5 bushels of wheat” he called out, “practically nothing”. We head steadfast towards Canada; our goal is to make it to Canada with as much cash as possible. Our path is to go from Ohio to Indiana, then Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, then Canada. We are currently in Iowa.
 Mar. 17, 1920
Today we mourn our good friend William, he was not only a shipmate, but a friend, a father, a husband, and an integral part of our mission. His death at the hands of this large group of lawmen will not go unavenged, apparently word has gotten out about our escapades across the continental US and everyone wants to take us down as their claim to fame. Tomorrow, we return to that town and take out their police chief to send the message, you don't mess with the crew of the landshark.
 Mar. 18, 1920
Today was a disaster, we are now down 3 more men, originally, we sailed with a crew of 20, now we are at just 13 and I fear if we don't stop losing men, we may not make it to Canada. I myself am wounded, so I feel it is best if I keep it brief. Tomorrow we may enter south Dakota and if all goes well there is a farm there that may be able to fuel the rest of our journey easily.
 Mar 20, 1920
Yesterday I did not feel well enough to write much less command so Trevor, my second in command, took over. He did a fine job, if I were to die, I would want him to take control over this whole operation. We hit South Dakota ahead of schedule yesterday and made it about 5 miles from the farm we seek. Today we prepare to raid this farm and make our way out of this state. I feel like our luck is about to turn around.
 Mar 21, 1920
Success! We got what we needed from the farm. We have just enough food that, if well rationed, could last for at least the next month if not longer. I feel a bit guilty for looting that farm so I've promised that once we hit Canada, I will find a way to send back an amount of money that matches the value of what we stole with 8% interest.
 Mar. 25, 1920
Not much has happened these past few days, we are about to leave South Dakota and make it to Wyoming, our food is still stable and we haven't had much conflict. I still worry though, as Canada is still a good way off and the bounty on us just increased by $200. I'll update when we enter Wyoming
 Mar. 30, 1920
We arrived in Wyoming this morning to an unwelcome greeting. 25 men armed to the teeth; our ship took quite a beating but surprisingly none of our men were injured. We simply took cover below deck and ran through their defenses, as I write I feel that crossing Wyoming may prove quite a challenge.
 Mar. 31, 1920
Well, it seems I was right, today me and my men are held up in an old farmhouse. The damage my ship accrued seemed to be enough to ground her. From what I can tell 20-30 men surround our building with various weapons, ranging from guns to pitchforks and are attempting to coerce us into giving ourselves up. I do not know whether to give in or not. We cannot win this fight but I cannot allow the government to take anything else from me.
I've decided to at least try to save the rest of my men. I'm going to engage them at the front second story window while my men escape out the backdoor and head for the cornfields. I'm giving my journal to Trevor to keep safe, if all goes well, he will update you.
 April 5, 1920
This is Trevor, I've escaped with about 4 men left, the others were either captured or killed. We are headed towards Idaho now on a train, we still have enough food and water to last till Canada if all goes well, we should be there within the month.
 April 22, 1920
We’ve made it, I don't know what to say but Captain Willards sacrifice should not go in vain so I've started up a small business fixing up machinery and started saving to pay back everything we stole.
