Really stupid idea but can you imagine if the TVA swore Wade and Logan to secrecy and then they come back and everyone is so incredibly confused. Like? Wade, what the fuck? Who is Logan and why is he living with you and why does he look like a dead superhero?

Especially with the insinuation that the entire movie timeline spanned over a few days. So Wade goes from hopelessly pining after his ex to bringing home this buff, hairy, muscular guy to live with him without warning after disappearing from his birthday party.

Like he just randomly walked out the door after blowing out the candles, then he mysteriously reemerged with this feral look-don't-touch beast of a man. And he's calling him stupid pet names like "peanut" and "babygirl" and the guy isn't biting his head off?

When asked, Wade just responds that Logan was his best birthday gift ever. Logan's ears turn pink and he covers his mouth to hide the small smile on his face. Wade wraps an arm around his shoulder and grins. Meanwhile, everyone thinks Wade left his own party because of a hook-up call that somehow ended with him landing himself a boyfriend.

In that Depths post, you mentioned Link taking Zelda to Cotera to max out her gear. I feel like the Great Fairies are a little mini adventure for Zelink. Zelda's curiosity, Link's protective instincts and war flashbacks, plus my theory about how their magic works (acts of affection only) and I can't help but wonder how Zelink's initial and subsequent interactions with Great Fairies go. Do you have enough thoughts on that to put into a post?

see the one thing thats up for debate is if zelda had ever interacted with the great fairies between botw and totk, i’d probably say she hasnt?? cuz it seems like the number of monsters we see in the games is Unusual so technically there wouldn’t be much need for her stuff to be upgraded, plus she literally has a guard dog LMAO

but i could imagine it being SUCH an emotional rollercoaster for zelda, we all know damn well she’s been starved of affection. i hope ive done this thought justice HAHA

- zelda is 100% spending the first 5 minutes there taking photos from every angle and link just has to stand there and wait while she’s like “i just need one more!!” (she’s said that 5 times now)

- i like to think that they’d be able to find things like fairies and blupees near the great fairies

- a further 10 minutes is spent with zelda on her hands and knees, purah pad in hands, trying to sneak close enough to a blupee to get a clear photo

- same thing with the fairies. she tries to catch one for science but fails miserably

- link catches one for her and she spends another minute just turning the jar in her hands. he can quite literally see the stars in her eyes

- “do you suppose we have a jar big enough to make a terrarium?” “i think so.” “hmm.. although, that may raise some concerns over fairy ethics..”

- totk has already shown us zelda has a thirst for keeping any funky creature she finds

- link waves and greets cotera nonchalantly. zelda can’t help but stare, wide-eyed and absolutely encapsulated by her beauty

- “my, and who’s this little wildflower you’ve brought along with you?”

- she’s surprised at how easily cotera’s flirty remarks wash over link. the most he ever does is smile

- it’s zelda’s turn to endure the incessant cooing of the great fairies. she’s bright red and struggles to reply without stammering

- link watches her with a grin and even laughs when she stutters enough that she’s incomprehensible

- she swats at his arm, it only makes him giggle more

- link explains what happens at each upgrade to save throwing her in blindly. zelda’s a little hesitant but he reassures her and the encouragement from him fills her with courage

- she handles the first upgrade easily. she’s grinning and relishes in the sparkles that linger around her

- link’s too busy admiring how pretty she looks when she’s given a confidence boost

- cotera’s looking at him knowingly but keeps her words to herself

- the second upgrade flusters her but she’s giggling

- link’s already grinning before the third upgrade. zelda somehow doesn’t feel comforted

- cotera decides to show a little bit of mercy given how obvious it is that zelda has very little experience w affection so she kisses her head instead. it still stuns her

- link’s stepping back before the final upgrade. zelda has enough time to make a noise of surprise before she’s been scooped up and dragged to the very depths of the fountain

- link’s laughing when he helps steady her once she’s put back down. she feels positively ready to burst from all this affection. she’s still speechless

- he spends time talking to cotera about their plans to traverse the depths while zelda recovers

- link finds himself asking if cotera’s sure being fully upgraded will keep her safe and for a moment a look of understanding washes over her

- she’s seen firsthand the stages of grief trying to find the princess again put him through. she’d seen the exhaustion in his eyes, repairing some of his clothes as she upgraded them from all the battles he’d endured in his search for her

- zelda’s touched by his worry, but also equally worried about his own wellbeing. being so anxious about her couldnt be good for him. she felt guilty sometimes

- “thank you so much for your blessings, cotera. you have been very kind.” “with a face like yours, princess, i should be thanking you.” “oh..!”

- cotera asks to speak with link alone for a bit and zelda obliges, busying herself with making notes on the whole experience

- “link, please tell me you’ve been looking after yourself?” “it’s.. a work in progress.” “please, find time for yourself to heal. even if that time is while you’re next to her, don’t lose yourself to what plagues you.” “mm..”

- zelda leaves feeling like it’s not only her clothes that have been upgraded but her confidence too. link wishes he had the courage to continue where cotera left off

- both of them feel as though theyve just witnessed some personal growth from zelda, link makes sure to tell her that confidence is a good look on her

- his compliment has by far the biggest impact on her

i believe ive talked about how i think there could be a metaphor/straight up depiction of healing from traumatic situations and/or learning how to cope with mental health struggles in the game in the past? anyway im gonna do it Again

this kind of hinges off the belief that the octoling shown in the trailer is octarian/not from the splatlands (whatever the correct term is i forgot). if the octoling is from splatsville then uh whoopsie. this is Not Relevant and will age like milk. anyway

octarian society definitely has a lot of strife. especially when in the military. suddenly trying to enter inkopolis and being met with turf wars suddenly being for fun and almost a complete lack of strife has to be wayyyy too much for some octolings. ive mentioned this in a prior post though thats from the perspective that the sr octoling is agent 8 (which im hesitant to believe but this is not the main point for this post specifically) id just like this to be true to contrast with what i think will be a revolving point around marina

and yeah, thats my main point, i think marina will have stuff to work through, too. i dont think she'll be an antagonist, but rather someone who's doing the wrong things for the right reasons or someone who caused a bad situation (which ill just call the death of coral here) on accident while trying to help. she was in the military at a very young age and escaped to inkling society, but the stuff after final fest is what im thinking about.

i can really only bring up NOA dialogue (aside from one thing, if i can find the source for it), so this may be off, but i dont have the resources to look up a 100% authentic translation

the fest stressed her out, and she was very worried about the band breaking up. this is clear in dialogue

though of course pearl comforts her that this isnt the case, i wonder if that fear still lingers in her mind. im not too knowledgeable on marina's characterization (i heard NOA isnt either so, lol) but it seems in character. she definitely hasnt unpacked(? i believe that is the right word) the fear on screen as far as i can tell, though, and i think side order might be about that, a little.

what interests me most is this unused dialogue from if team order won, though:

of course its unused so it doesnt hold as much weight as canon dialogue, but i wonder if she'll hold a similar mentality. she has control, and she sees that she can shape the world. i dont fully agree with her changing everyone to be the same, since she later says this:

if she were to do anything, i think she'd change the world that may try to be like this, but something in it would be functionally unsound and cause the whole thing to break. im not sure if she even would in the first place but i can acknowledge the possibility. itd be ironic, shes good at building machinery but not building a utopia.

i dont think she needs to be saved in this scenario, i think its best if she were to save herself. but this is verrryyy speculative so i cant say much.

tangent aside. marina understanding and moving on/healing from her fears being compared to the protagonist octoling's own journey on recovering would be great. itd be even better with agent 8 in my opinion, since theyve clearly gone through Some Shit and definitely need therapy for it, but i dont want to speculate too much. im expecting all of this to be Wrong but i cant ignore that ive been thinking about it like this lol

raykore and novas heart to heart talk about valdederon , a new hidden threat and valdederons rage.

soon after valdederon enters his trance nova sighs un able to properly meditate as her mind is in chaos when she looks up at raykore who is takinga puff from her smoking pipe.

nova-- ray..raykore.

raykore chuckles softly

raykore--- you can call me ray if you want hun

nova-- ray is… val.. is he realy ok to be taking me in ..to be adventuring and ervything.

raykore stops mid puff and lets out a chuckle.

raykore--- as wise as i am even i dont know the answer to that one pup. id say yes personaly as having seen him grow over the years in this world.. the kids changed physicaly emotionaly and mentaly . and since he took you in as part of his family his drive to improve him self has grown significantly personaly i dont know if hes fully recovered from his traumatic past hell i garuntee he hasnt. but i can say it now longer drives his evry thought hes learned to ignore those impulses and think …. some what lodgicly ha ha ha… some what . he is still verry much a walking army.. but a more foucsed and determined army. though i do expect any demon he encounters may end up causing a flare up in him.

for the next few hours raykore tries to help nova meditate mean while 5 days walk to the south east in a small town with a hidden away bar the magmar who attacked novas tribe comes in and sits down ordering a volcanic eruption == ( imagine vodka if made with carolina reapers mixed with pure capsasin oil with 3 fresh chillie pepers ground into paste and all of that mixed into a 40 ounce glass cup ) == and begins downing it in second slaming his fist down on the table.

the barkeep a scared up machoke named dead eye leans forward.

dead eye-- the job aint finished yet you killed the old man but that little spit fire of his is still loose and from what i hear has joined a guild with a .not so delicate delphox rumor hase it this ones special.. and tougher then an onyxe on black obsdian powder. you get paied when its complete the boss aint happy bout it either.

the magmar looks up at dead eye as he slides a picture recently taken via psychic pokemon power

zorgon the magmar---- so all i have to do is flatten a stuppid little riolu girl tschh barely even a challange.

dead eye--- the way i hear it its not her you need to be worried about its that guild some what shes in but mainly that delphox. he is an unknown. reports are all over.. uses ligning fire.. even got a report of him using water moves. tread lightly you heavy foooted dolt.

the magmar grunts and pockets the picture and begins gathering information about the guild.eventualy coming up with a plan he thinks will work with out a hitch. heading to a den of goblins known for thier greed of ancient gold coins throwing them 7 bag fulls and a map of an ancient long deead kingdom castle fortress complex. in another continent. after a month valdederon wakes up and notices nova is gone from his room and that his head feels off as the effects of a heavy sleeping agent have just warn off his blury vision clearing to show the room a mess after a few minutes clearing his head he uses a spell that uses residual life essnce to reconstruct events into a magical holigram.

40 minutes later the air through out the entire guild grows ice cold and silent the silence broken by a loud explosion guild staff russing to valdederons room to be met face to face with araging blood red flaming inferno beams of wood falling into the flame and 2 piercing green eyes with in the flame taiga the serperior guild master using his vines to hold evryone back as the green eyes vanish into the flames .

kleo--- ok water types put out the fire.. psychics figure out what the fuk just happened.. AND NO ONE .AND I MEAN NO ONE IS TO CHASE VALDEDERON.. unless you want to get hurt. somthing has set him off.

raykore--- gods help his enemies..

kleo-- what does that mean.. i can sense the magic he used he reconstructed the events that happened before he woke that fire.. was fueled by pure rage anger and hatred.. gods worse then when i first met him. who ever angered him. may the gods help thier souls because hes going to kill them.

valdederon finds a tavern and rips the door open and slams his staff to the floor causing an ice nova to freeze evryone in place.

the room falls dead slent as the tavern owner comes down from the top floor offic having heard the yelling.

the next few hours are tense untill some one finaly mentions that a near bye town would have such filth and scum and valdederon releases evryone heading out to that town. eventualy ariving after 5 days and breaks the door down and looks around the room growing tense with shock.

valdederon heads out after that but causes an earth queake to tear the tavern down traping them all temporarily and begins the long journey to the dark continent of baroovien. using old maps he had gotten form a laibrary only to encounter a hoard of goblins the size of a nations army.

valdederon--- you idiots actualy look intelegent for goblins.

they chuckle and grin untill a bolt of ligning strikes the hobgoblin general the shear electricity causing him to explode into a goopy purple mess the goblins looking at the once great general and back at valdederon .

valdederon--- your in my way scatter or die.

in seconds a battle erupts mean while in the castle the distant sounds of battle can be heard.

nova--- le..let me go… please .. who are you.

zorgon-- im your death..tsch looks like ive been found. . is that.. lignting.. and fire. god now ice.

nova whimpering in fear crosses her legs a puddle growing beneath her chained feet

valdederon sslashes his staf out word causing a wave of energy to slize many goblins in half once jumping at his face only to be grabed by the throat and fall limp after a loud crack as valdederon crushes his throat and tosses the goblin to the side the gasping and wheasing as it struggles to breath and then whimpering as it bursts into flames for hours the battle rages valdederon getting to the citty edges and begins to walt through as he summons meteors to fall into the citty the explosions reverberating through the citty and castle walls.

zorgon--- god how many are there i hired an entire army out there .

nova tears up hearing the screams and explosions in the distance. hoping she will survive each passing second the explosions and yelling turned screaming grow closer and closer after awhile zorgon runs down to the entrance of the castle just as 6 hob goblin generals crash through thier boddies practicly turned inside out via magic and a shadowed figure slowly aproaching with the clack…. clack… clack….clack of a staf on stone the torch fire on the wall lighting the figure up . a delphox furr drenched purple with goblin blood the sounds of crumbling buildings in the distance followed by a loud crash as a wall falls over blocking the exit.

valdederon---- what is your name ass hole.. id like to know the name of my victim you kidnaped my baby sister and i wont let that slide.

the magmar stares frozen with fear barely able to mumbler zorgon untill he steals him self.

zorgon growls--- top of the castle tower.

with in seconds a full blowne onslaught erupts fire lightning ice water stone bullets fire balls and hundreds of others spells fly out in all directions for 6 hours the battle rages untill valdederon lands a heavy blow with a sizable chunk of boulder to the magmars chest snaping his ribs as it hits after words he picks up zorgon bu the throat and tosses him against a pillar causing it to fall over and smashing into his back…youl never escape that.. but if you do rest asured ill end you if we ever meet again.

valdederon turns and walks away from the slowly dying magmar his lungs punctured by shards of rib and his spinke broken paralyzing him from the hip down passing out from the imense pain nova hearing the silence begins to sob untill the sound of wood on stone comes up the stares and the familliar shape of valdederons body fills the blury void

he gently unchains and picks her up and lets her sob into his shoulder ignoring her claws digging into his flesh and soon enters a hotspring with her and rubs her back gently letting her have her time to let out all her bottled up fear and sadness for a solid 3 hours she cries and cries and cries settling into hickups.

she sniffles and nods and avldederon gets up out of the hot spring and lets her wash up on her own in private then washes him self after shes finished sitting at the edge to share a pile of oran berries with his baby sister.

so a week ago woody got an allergy shot. he's been acting strange for the past week, then the past 2 days has been sick. like. shivering, whimpering, doesn't wanna eat, running hot (altho we dont have anything to check his temp), lethargic, just overall not a happy boy. not feeling good. he seems to be protecting his belly. i start keeping track if he's pooped, he didn't yesterday but did this morning, so no blockage, but the poop was hard so probably has been constipated. but i don't think thats all right. because he's got a lipoma on his right hip/leg, usually squishy soft, and now it's got a little hard spot in it. i'm not freaking out abt cancer because this has happened once before after a rabies vax. the tech that gave him the shot nicked the lipoma and pushed some of the shot into it. made him super sick for like a week but he recovered. his lipoma was hard for like 2 months after that. then it became squishy again. so now, all of a sudden after a shot it's hard again? i'm like. i bet they put the shot in it. like i dont wanna go in guns blazing right. so i call the vets office and im like "hey so do you have on his file what location on his body he got the shot in?" and they say right back leg. i'm like. "yeah. i thought so. the boy hasnt been feeling good and we think its because of this shot being put into his lipoma so could you fit us in today to check up on him" and OUR vet isnt there but another vet is. usually i'd be like. hell no i'll wait for our vet thanks. but like he's not feeling good so i'm like fine whatever. called 8am got an appt for 4:30pm.

he starts feeling a little better today. he ate breakfast, although i made just like. mush out of his wet food, some canned pumpkin, and unsalted chicken broth. he's moving around a bit more. still slow, still careful and lethargic, but visibly better. so i take him in, tell the vet tech what's going on, tell her i'm like pretty certain it was this shot, and maybe some constipation. he's doing a bit better. maybe we could use some pain meds and a tummy med. actual vet comes in and i'm like. immediately feeling off bc i feel like i recognize them. we put woody up for his exam, they spend about 45 seconds palpating him and asking questions, he's clearly uncomfortable and nervous, trying to get away from them and into my arms. they say this moving away from them while they're trying to palpate his back is a sign that he's got back pain and that's the reason for everything. the hunching and tail tucking and shivering and whimpering is cause he's got an issue with his back. guys. he was pulling away from them quite clearly because he did not want a stranger touching him, not because they were touching a sore spot. they fully determined in less than a minute that he has Back Pain and so we should put him on a muscle relaxer and gabapentin. ignored my entire thing about him protecting his belly, about his lipoma getting hard because of the shot, in fact at first argued with me about like "oh they usually give the shot here on this side so they wouldnt have done that" i was like "i literally called and asked where they gave the shot and they pulled up his record and told me it was the right back leg. where his lipoma is." and they were like "well it wouldnt affect him even if it did, it just goes under his skin" like dude you are not listening to me. one week ago we brought him in and he was FINE. and then he got a shot, in the side where his lipoma is, a lipoma which now has a hard spot in it, and he's been sick. do you see the progression??? do you????

vet left the room and i immediately texted my mom about it and she was like "????? he does NOT have back pain what" so im like. no way im gonna buy expensive meds for this problem that he doesn't have. and there was just something. Something. about this vet that instantly reminded me of the vet jessie saw shortly before she died.

ok so. rewind. back to a couple years ago. jessie has been uncoordinated. she's having mobility issues. she's having episodes of twitching, little spasms all over her body. she seems coherent, but uncomfortable and unhappy. we take her to the vet to see what's going on. the vet comes in, does the exam, does a blood draw to run a full panel. this vet tells me they suspect. that jessie has. (wait for it.) back problems. jessie has back problems which are causing all these symptoms. get a call a couple days later from this vet, "everything looks fine on the blood test!" i say "ok great please send me a copy of the report" and they go "oh ok, just so you know, there's one thing off on the panel, the blood sugar is really low, but that's just an artifact, someone left the sample out too long before testing it happens all the time, so there's nothing to worry about"

guys. this is that vet. this is that same vet. i didn't recognize the name, but the face. i recognized the face. i came home to check the records, and it was the same vet telling me today that woody has back problems that told me two years ago that jessie had back problems.

so. with that in mind. jessie died about a month and a half after that vet visit. from severe chronic hypoglycemia. you know. the low blood sugar that showed up on the blood test that was "nothing to worry about."

god i wish i had known i wish so fucking badly i had known to just. ask for another check on her sugar levels. but i didn't. so i kept treating her for nerve issues in her back, potential neurological symptoms, because this vet decided that her blood sugar levels meant nothing on the blood test.

so. you know. did not buy the meds for woody today. do not believe this person even a tiny bit. did my own palpation with his back multiple times with zero indication of any pain response.

i'm. i'm so furious you dont even fucking know. the absolute trauma that was just dug up by me taking my sick dog to see the same vet who absolutely fucked over my other dog by not giving a shit.

like. listen. im fully aware that jessie's issues were not fixable. the emergency vet that we took her to on her last days of life said there was a high probability based on her sugar and insulin levels was that she had an insulinoma, which also likely wouldn't have been operable. shit, even if it were, we would have never been able to afford the surgery or subsequent radiation and chemo. but jesus fucking christ they knew!!! they knew her blood sugar levels were dangerously low on that blood test 6 weeks earlier, and we could have at least mitigated it in the short term, could have made her life a little easier toward the end. could have even. fucking. planned for a gentle euthanasia. instead she had multiple violent terrifying grand mal seizures. i held her in the car through more. by the time we actually got to the er vet my arms were trembling from holding her through ten fucking full body seizures in the car.

im. im crying rn hold on.

the thing is im so so angry that she could have been given a gentle end to her life and she didn't get that. when they called us in to put her down, because she couldn't stop seizing if they didn't have her on a constant IV with sugar, she looked ragged. she looked sick. she was nervous and tired. she wasn't herself. she had lost something through all those seizures.

and now. like. i never expected to see this vet again right. i wasn't gonna ever confront them. its just. happenstance they ended up where i was going. not only was this visit today sucky because i put woody through this for nothing but also. worse fucking throwback in the world. god, idc if they mean well, idc if they're doing their job, they fucking suck and i hate them. and i put so much of the blame for how jessie went out. on this one person. who could have saved jessie so much pain.

today hasn't been great.

let us get some basics out of the way. vergil is trans, he's asexual, and he has DID according to me. i also think he's autistic. also according to me, eva was a witch and while she did teach both her sons how to use magic as a sort of companion activity to sparda training them in combat, vergil was the one who really took to it; dante for the most part didn't have the attention span for the kind of book learning needed to learn the ins and outs of magic. he can do some basics, has taught himself some things as he's aged, but doesn't really consider himself to be a witch. (witch being a gender neutral term here)

vergil, on the other hand, hyperfixated on it even after eva died, though from there it would have become more v's thing than anyone else's. v considers themself as well as the system as a whole to be a witch, but there's some discrepancies between alters based on opinions on eva and degree of attachment to her memory. (v's a total mama's boy (gender neutral) and i wont be argued w about it. source of strife btwn them and vergil. delicious)

i'm going off my headcanons so i will be including nelo angelo in this, as well as altered pronouns from canon, so

basic summary of events leading up to nero's conception is this:

vergil is in his late teens. he is attempting to transition via magic though this is entirely homebrewed, entirely a spell of his/v's own making, and entirely untested

this backfires horrifically, almost killing them in the process. the ramifications of this leave them physically weak and as we all know this is unacceptable.

prior to this the plan to raise the temen ni gru is already in the works but this just spurs them on. weak, recovering slowly bc as previously stated they nearly killed themself, they head to fortuna looking for information; if you're gonna find anything on ancient demon towers and hell gates its gonna be in the dusty church basement libraries of thee sparda cult id think.

i have 2 branching theories here but the end result is pretty much the same and results in them getting pregnant and carrying baby nero to term. theory one is Unpleasant and i'm going to leave it at that but theory 2 is a sex for information type dealie. makes more sense to me for vergil to view sex as a largely transactional thing and not really have a problem with using it to get info. given that he kinda, y'know, is an orphan and i imagine hasnt had any sex ed, i'm really operating under the assumption that he doesnt really know where babies come from? or at the very least isnt fully aware that this is a risk.

demon baby proceeds to wreak havoc upon an already very weak vergil; abortion attempts are made but are unfruitful. information quest continues despite this.

to make a long story short v is the alter who's most present at nero's birth; they're the one who first lays eyes on this baby, they're the one who holds him, who cleans him, who has a horrible little panic attack wherever the fuck this happens bc what in the fuck tbh. i imagine here, vulnerable and tired and extremely weak, they see Baby and theyre like oh.... youre small and defenseless and yet you have caused me so many problems.... my baby now

power quest takes precedent, nero is abandoned in fortuna days after being born. v later claims to have been against this but at the time would have agreed that power comes first; how else are you going to protect yourself or your baby when you're a heavily traumatized half demon teen dad

raising the temen ni gru becomes a pretty much suicidal endevour from here. it's stupid and dangerous and will probably end with them dying awful and bloody but they've just experienced true weakness; it's power and therefore safety and stability or death. canon pretty much happens from here.

now. i have done a lot of world building on witches in my dmc headcanons and am SO willing to talk about it but the necessary information here is the ability to practice witchcraft is generally inherited mother to daughter (strictly in the biological sense) as it was a gift bestowed upon human priestesses by demons prior to sparda cutting the human and demon worlds off from each other. eva's family goes waaaaaay the fuck back as the original priestesses of sparda's family line. vergil and dante both inherit this ability but crucially so does nero, despite the fact that according to me he is for all intents and purposes amab. chalk this up to either nero being intersex or vergils fuckshit genetics messing with things. either way, nero inherits this ability. or if you are taking my ideas and running with it, which by all means please do, and you decide he's a trans man, that literally works lkke i dont care all that you need to know here is nero inherits the ability to preform witchcraft from vergil.

a very good friend of mine has allowed me to bounce ideas off him and has given me many ideas so should i talk about neros witchcraft at any point, a lot of the credit for the ideas goes to him.

and if he is reading this and would like me to credit him for his baller ideas he should dm me on discord but ANYWAY.

i am now going to breakdown how each alter relates to nero. i feel its worth it to note that no matter what happened in fortuna to create nero, the whole pregnancy was probably pretty traumatic and dysphoria enducing.

as i'm sure most DID havers and systems can tell you, interpersonal relationships when you are like this can get wildly complicated. you're balancing differing opinions and outlooks and gut reactions and it can be really difficult! so it follows, to me at least, that vergil & co have a very complicated relationship w/ their kid post DMC5 and just. super complicated feelings about nero In General.

vergil

now, vergil has extremely limited experience with people and a very narrow, very warped view of what family means. he also has a massively warped moral compass and tends to put self preservation above all else. this is really obvious when he doesnt have the other alters holding him back; he would have killed both dante and nero if they weren't so durable just because they got in his way. that said, it's not like he doesn't care about them. dante's his twin brother, the one thing he wants more than anything is for dante to join him and i imagine it's similar with nero.

(unfortunately nero's a little too much like his uncle to join vergil's crazy power quests but y'know.)

he absolutely would not have been a good dad to a small child but with nero grown up and not dependent upon him for anyrhing, i can see vergil really being the one who tells nero about their family, about where they come from, and just all of the history there, which like... nero's an ophan, i can see that being very important to him.

i also think the whole arm thing like... in vergils mind, thats a mercy. he didn't try to kill him, just ripped off his arm bc he Needed the yamato for self preservation reasons. like, you get in his way, vergil will kill you. he didnt kill nero, to him that is almost positively a mercy and i imagine he has significant difficulty understanding why nero might hold that against him- vergil's been torn apart and remade and just destroyed more times than he probably remembers, like... this isn't anything to him.

as for interactions with infant nero, i can see vergil having a similar Oh... My Baby initial reaction as v, but this is Vergil- he needs to be strong, and if he can't protect himself, how's he supposed to protect a baby? i think he's fully aware that the temen ni gru quest is almost certainly a suicide mission, but in his mind, he has no choice.

in summary, i think he tries. i think he is a terrible father but i think every decision he's ever made has just been him Trying in his own fucked up way. whether or not he ever has much of a relationship with nero is entirely up to nero.

v

v is really interesting to me wrt nero. i see them as viewing themself as being somehow more entitled to being nero's parent than anyone else. on top of that, v is manipulative, they're cagey, they're the first alter who actually talks to adult nero, they're the kind of person who'll tell you only what you need to know to the point where it's basically a lie of omission.

this is all self defense, but it's still something that makes them wildly unpleasant to be arnd. couple that with feeling like nero Belongs to them, they actively sabotage other alters attempts to get to know their kid (until confronted about it). the non-humans are just "familiars", vergil and nelo angelo are "dangerous", etc. they honestly probably dont even really tell nero that they're All Vergil, Technically. this is probably something nero finds out from either dante (thinking nero already knew) or griffon (just telling him bc vergil doesnt think it's relevant information and v is actively keeping that from him)

that all said, v cares very deeply about nero and about what he thinks of them. they love him Dearly, would do anything for him, and genuinely just want what's best for him, though their idea of what's best for him doesn't always match up with reality.

they'd delight in sharing their witchcraft with him, in sharing the history of that, sharing everything they know, just... Teaching him like eva did them.

as with vergil they are just doing their fucking best. they just kind of happen to be an asshole. they also just happen to be emotionally unavailable. these things make interpersonal relationships difficult. i imaginr they also make connecting with your long lost son extremely difficult as well.

griffon

as v's kinda direct protector, griffon's heavily entwined with their bullshit but that does Not mean he puts up with it. post dmc5 and post hell, griffon? he is not pulling punches. nero wants Truth, in all its gory details? he should talk to griffon.

out of all of them, griffon's the most... mentally sound, shall we say. he's generally levelheaded, he's very silly, and is the most openly affectionate aside from shadow.

he very much considers nero to be Their son, rather than His son; nero's as much his as he is any other alters, they're all nero's dad, full stop.

how he shows affection, however, is by relentlessly bullying and he Definitely takes it too far and nero Definitely does not always understand that he's joking.

what v won't admit and what griffon has given up trying to tell them is that he was just about as present during nero's birth as They were, they are Very closely tied as alters, but . well. u try telling that to a wildly unstable witch.

shadow and nightmare

to be honest, i don't have a whole hell of a lot to say about them. they love nero, they both consider him the system's kid, etc, but they don't tend to front unless there's some.kind of imminent danger be that psychological or physical.

That Said, shadow can be VERY snuggly if you catch her fronting outside Danger Time. she's extremely sweet and loving to anyone she likes, and she Likes nero, that's her BABY.

angelo

and finally we come to the one that is entirely headcanoned. i'm gonna keep this relatively brief bc im running out of steam anf patience to keep.typung this but angelo's intial gut reaction to nero is about the same as it is to dante, which is just . sheer, gut wrenching terror followed by the worlds most aggressive fight response. consequently i Do think he's gutted nero once or twice.

as he begins to recover, begins to get out of the mundus brainwashing and starts to really just. be a person, if nero is willing to let him in he is the most fatherly. he's gentle but firm, he's patient, he's the kind of person who will do little things for you just because he wants you to be happy. i also don't see him pulling a v; he's very honest, very humble, and *very* willing to apologize and admit to wrongdoing- for fuckssake, he gutted his son, who he really does want a relationship with. gotta start somewhere, u know.

i can talk more about system interpersonal relations but as a tldr v Does Not Like Angelo Whatsoever; angelo represents the single worst time in their life, and he's also just everything v isnt.

long rant about thinspo and how i feel about it. so obviously tw for talk about that and also tumblr dont term me for using that word im not proana fuck off please, im allowed to rant (also im really fucking tired so idk if this will even make sense)

to start off im gonna say i have been part of pro ana tumblr and mpa for quite a while in the past, i only started to get to the pro recovery side of tumblr at the end of last year so that might cloud my perspective on this topic a bit.

my relationship with thinspo is complicated. i do realize thinspo is horrible and posting it only fuels other peoples eds, but i still look at it and have a private pinterest board for it because i still want to fuel my ed and get motivated to get worse sometimes. i know its bad but i still do it. but i dont post thinspo anywhere publically, all my shit is in private boards or folders and will never see the light of day since i just dont wanna trigger other people. but to say im completely against it would be a bit hypocritical since i do look at it and use it to fuel my ed. i just dont want other people to do so.

its weird to say im okay with some thinspo since im not really but im more okay with thinspo of people who actually have an ed and have posted pics of themselves to be used as thinspo. what im not okay with is using non ed'd people as thinspo. ive seen pics of eg jessie page and billzo used as thinspo and i hate it. (as well as models, actors and kpop idols but i dont know much about that and dont feel as conected to them so i wont talk about that now but it also makes me feel wierd)

jessie have posted pics of themself in the past when they were really bad and i get why people get triggered by them, but now shes fully recovered and talks a lot about their ed and to me it feels wierd that people use her old pics as thinspo since shes so openly recovered and pro recovery. billzo on the other hand hasnt got an ed and never has, hes just naturally skinny and has even said hes uncomfortable with that hes skinny so to me it also feels wierd to use him as thinspo. ive seen people say that you cant be upset when someone uses a well known person as thispo cause all other thinspo is of real people as well but i feel like theres a big difference between just normal pictures of a skinny person vs actual body checks posted as thinspo by an anorexic person. i personally think body checks are much more triggering anyways and i just feel morally wierd about purposefully using pictures of non disordered people to trigger yourself. ofc with people like jessie not everyone knows who she is and i get that other people who have posted thinspo might also be recovered, but when people tell the person who posted the picture that the person in the pic is recovered or just not comfortable with being thinspo why wouldn't you take the post down. same with non disordered people, if they look ed'd to you fine, but as soon as someone tells you that theyre not and possibly have stated theyre not comfortable with being used as thinspo why would you keep defending the post? just take it down. and i get thats never gonna happen, people are always gonna use whatever pics they find as whatever they want, this was just my thoughts. if you want to argue with me about this feel free but i dont think im gonna change my mind. and i also get being so deep into your ed that you dont care. i get why pro ana is a thing. ive been there and i hate it. if youre pro and reading this (witch i doubt anyone who got this far or even saw this post is but still) if youre pro rn please try and see that first of all eds are terrible no matter how much that voice tells you theyre gonna make you happy and second of all making other people worse wont make anything better and third of all pro recovery side of tumblr is so much better.

The role reversal with Link falling first now has me imagining Impa finding him like, somehow miraculously alive (I imagine he got lucky and landed somewhere that would make his fall survivable, and normally that would be like, he hit and broke every branch in several trees on his way down, but considering he ended up likely in Eldin then it's more likely he landed on one of those sand slopes) and just thinking to herself "This is not how this was supposed to go. You are not supposed to be here yet."

Meanwhile Link is still surprised to find himself not dead and on solid ground and there's something down here?????? Plus he's probably injured. Boy is tough but he's not THAT tough. So while Zelda is getting Fi and preparing to head down and find Link so she can do her whole spirit maiden thing, Link is hanging out with Impa while he recovers from his fall (probably worried that Zelda feels guilty because he's embarrassingly selfless) and she's trying to prep him on his big destiny but he's more excited about the tiny birds and worried about how he's going to get back to Skyloft so Zelda can stop feeling bad about pushing him. Impa is tearing out her hair trying to deal with this twink who won't listen to her.

And idk, the mental image of Zelda and Fi trying to find Link all worried out of their minds about him, and he's just wandering around with a limp while Impa chases after him talking about destiny is hilarious to me. Impa does not get paid enough for this nonsense.

(If enough smoothing out happens with others jumping in I might add this to my wip pile. Maybe. We'll see if enough ideas get brought up for me to have something to work with.)

now, mark's been searching for the dang captain for what feels like a week straight. mans hasnt slept a WINK. so he just stumbles his way towards the control room, and orders the computer to wake them up cuz its an emergency.

nothing happens.

so mark just does what he does best. starts breaking shit, and by shit i mean the cap's cryo door.

its frozen shut. something that should NOT be possible OR allowed. it puts the person inside in too much danger, both of just freezing to death and of them not being able to get out.

finally, the door is broken off, but oh god.

the captain is frozen solid. imagine smth like birdley from deltarunes snowgrave route. that.

their whole pod is just. ice. and mark can k ly vaguely see whats inside. but it really does appear to be the captain.

and now theres an emergency meeting because WHAT. i bet CC is blamed cuz shes literaly jn charge of cryo i think. and because of what truly might be a murder attempt of their beloved captain, she herself is probably locked away in cryo.

now its time to pray they can free the captain from all the ice. i'd like to think they succeed and the cap ends up surviving and recovering because plot convinience.

they end up confessing that yes it was CC who did this, but instead it was fully by force. cap didnt have ANY options to even try defending themselves.

and now i present, CC trying to pull this same shit but its in space swirl and bodyguard!dark would rather be put in a room with 10 wilfords than leave caps side :

Oh! In that route Cap basically jumps from Gunther's rebellion to Burt merging with the computer to Celci believing that freezing everyone is for the "greater good" (if you choose "think of the colonists" each time).

Mark's completely absent which is strange but I'll assume he's alive in this timeline too and Cap kept warping around the ship to find him.

He'd try to find out where they are but everyone's already frozen over (and Burt, Celci, and Gunther are hostile to him, since they blame him for all the shit that went wrong too) so his worst fear comes true when he does, indeed, find Cap in a frozen state as well.

It wasn't actually attempted murder (since Cap willingly goes if they choose TotC, as Celci seems genuine when she says they can rest and not worry about anything anymore) but Mark's still gonna be pissed off, especially if there's a reset.

Everybody lives/Nobody dies AU set during the restoration of Erebor

Every able body has a job because its the beginning of winter and if they want to move into the mountain before it snows they have to clear it and patch any outer holes pretty fast

Bilbo can't do much because he's not as physically strong as a dwarf so he helps the wounded for a while and after that ends up in charge of food distribution and because hes the only one with the patience and (drilled in) manners ends up being the diplomatic negotiator when it comes to getting the food

and occasionally other items because dwarves dont want to deal with elves and elves dont want to deal with dwarves

So Thorin has recovered enough to start being a king again and it takes him a while (since hes either struggling to move about or sitting in meetings he cant run from) but he eventually realizes Bilbo has ended up with most of the work and duties assigned to the Queen Consort

Thorin feels all warm inside but he feels bad that Bilbo doesnt know about all this and decides he'll tell him next time he sees him...

...except next few times he sees him Thorin can't get him alone or Thorin gets called away. And then Thorin makes the mistake of imagining what it would be like if Bilbo was his consort... and never gets around to telling him because this way Thorin can keep playing pretend

This comes back to bite him of course because all his decisions do eventually

Way back when his grandfather was on the throne and they still had their kingdom Thorin's family set him up in a arranged marriage. It fell through after Smaug and last Thorin knew she was betrothed to some other dwarf

Well turns out he died before they ever got married and now that Thorin is on the throne and has his kingdom back her and her parents want to revive the engagement

They show up and Thorin obviously doesnt want to do this. He hasnt even fully recovered enough to actually bask in his glory and happiness. His largest argument against it is that Fili and Kili are already his heirs, and since arranged marriages are only created to ensure the continuation of the royal line (with the whole 1/3 population being female and therefore scarce) theres no need

Why all that is happening shes ambitious and tracks down Bilbo and asks to be included in the affairs, since is to be the Queen and he is doing the Queen's duties

Which of course Bilbo didnt know about as theres no royalty in the Shire

Thorin doesnt know she did this until she comes into a meeting with Bilbo since shes shadowing him (well as much as a Queen-to-be can shadow)

Thorin is angry. Bilbo looks mad. Thorin is now scared.

He thinks Bilbo is mad he's been doing a job equal to the King's workload and nobody told him. Thorin knows he shouldve given Kili that job as soon as he was recovered (since Fili as Crown Prince is shadowing Thorin) or got over his little fantasies and told Bilbo himself

Bilbo is actually mad that 1) Thorin is getting married and no one told him (which isnt actually confirmed but the bride acts like it is) 2) Thorin has been engaged this whole time (not true) 3) she keeps messing with his system and his charts

Bilbo as a hobbit has had manners drilled into his very core so of course he's "willing" to work with Thorin's betrothed for hours each day. Of course he acts like everything is fine. Of course he says nothing bad about her to her soon-to-be family

So of course Thorin (and Fili and Kili and Dis if shes there) think Bilbo is perfectly fine and any irritation he has is coming from having to keep adjusting his schedule and his system. Or elves. You can always count on elves to ruin your day

Then to Thorin's horror it starts to look like theyre becoming friends

Once Bilbo gets over the greatest of his itty-bitty (ha!) heartbreak he actually likes her. He really tries not to.

When that happens Thorin decides hes got to put a stop to this and puts his foot down. He is the king and his word is final. He is not getting married.

After that whole fiasco Bilbo is mad at him again 1) he has to adjust his system again to get it back where it was since hes obviously gonna have to go back to doing this himself without a partner 2) Thorin has no tact and now Bilbo and several others are scrambling to fix this mess 3) Thorin will marry someone eventually, and now the pain is being drawn out

Also Thorin never specified why he doesnt want to marry her and that brings up its own set of problems (such as insulting her whole house)

The company sends Biblo in to get answers on that last one because apparently hes the only one other than Dis that can drag answers out of him, and Dis knows but wont tell them.

Its the end of a very long day, Bilbo does not want to do this. Thorin really doesnt want to deal with this anymore tonight. Neither get what they want

Thorin says things that make this worse because of course he did

Anyways Thorin doesnt get his act together until hes informed that Bilbo has made preparations to leave mid-spring

Thorin is heartbroken which means he does one of two things: get angry and in your face, or get silent and isolate himself

Its only mid-winter now which means if someone doesnt do something this is gonna drag out another 3-4 months

Bilbo still goes around and sees his friends and basically ignores Thorin because he will not have the last weeks with the greatest friends he'll ever have get passed up because hes moping around over being in love with a king. A dwarf king. A king of incredibly secretive people. Most of his people dont trust him with anything beyond broad organization. As if he stood a chance

The days start getting longer which mean feasts will happen soon which mean Bilbo and Thorin have to actually talk to each other one-on-one

Thorin ends up swallowing his pride and apologizing. Goes back to what he thinks is the beginning of all this and also apologizes for not telling Bilbo about consort duties which gets Bilbo all confused because what does that have to do with anything? Unless its him making assumptions about hobbits? So Thorin has to explain why he didnt tell him that he was doing the consort's duties

Bilbo is all like "oh..." and instead of doing the easy thing and telling Thorin he likes him back he decides to go the embarrassing route of "thats why you kept giving me jewelry and gifts! You like me!" Eventually he gets around to telling Thorin that he likes him and he was only leaving because him getting married and therefore replacing Bilbo just reminded him that he doesnt belong here with dwarves and he really didnt want to still be in Erebor the next time the topic of weddings come up (just wait till Thorin finds out Kili fancies a elf... hopefully Fili's future engagement is less rough then this while fiasco)

Celine is shocked for maybe a moment before she slides right into the perfection visual and welcomes them. Meanwhile Joey is still by the door and still hasnt fully recovered from that shock (no matter how much she side eyes him and gestures for him to get over there over their shoulders)

as an abuse survivor, i thought that the portrayal of lapis' trauma in 'why so blue?' was really good. obviously it wont align with everyone, but it resonated with me.

lapis was calm for most of the episode, but when faced with the Other Lapises, she was reminded of her own experiences and it resurfaced alot of those feelings.

for me, when i am in a situation that reminds me of my trauma, i tend to get angry/lash out. lapis was reminded of her own abuse by the lapises, who called her pathetic and mocked her growth as a person, making her feel like she was worth less now.

she lashed out at the two, and was visibly upset when they used the water chains back against her, likely because she spent so many months shackled while she was malachite.

she was able to compose herself again pretty fast, but it was obviously hard for her.

despite her outburst, the show didnt make her out to be a bad person, and made a point to highlight how much she had grown. she hasnt fully recovered from her past, and maybe never will, but thats okay. what matters is that she's finding joy in her life now and actively trying to be a better person than she was, even if she fucks up sometimes.

i think the crew handled it well and showed a healthy and accurate part of the recovery process

im gonna talk about! marney and topaz! their characters and relationship and how having pepper changed things for them. this is rly long but it feels good to write it all out

- marney and topaz have a rly complex relationship thats full of support and like...give-and-take. neither has more control over the other. theyre both stubborn in their own ways and strive to please one another thru compromise. their relationship has a lot of hard work behind it their bond is super strong and loving

- topaz is very level headed and relaxed while marney is more of a worrier and feels her emotions a bit more intensely. topaz works as a gardener while marney works in construction. both are pretty large trolls with a good amount of strength, being half giant troll. they spent a while working in the same general areas and flirting by trying to show off their strength to each other before topaz was like “hey do you wanna. hang out” bhjdfksd. they were both around 20-21 when they started dating

- they got married young (24-25 y/o) and lived with each other at the troll tree. they both had wanted kids for a while but marney was too nervous for a really long time to have a baby while they both were still at the troll tree. worried about one or both of them getting eaten and not being there to raise the baby, the trolling pod getting damaged or ripped apart, the baby getting taken, etc. marney has some real demons when it comes to close family members getting taken from her

- topaz managed to convince her after she showed marney this rly secluded, safe little hole in the tree that they thought would be safe from the bergens. they planted their little hair seed and took rly good care of the pod plant! they were both super excited to finally start a little family, even with the grim situation. by that time almost all of their own family had been eaten except for topaz’s brother (who i have not developed at all but he’s eve’s father) so the stress of literally just staying alive was a lot but they wanted to really try and be there for their baby. things were going so well they actually started planning to plant a second (and third) hair seed

- around the 2 months 1 week point (i headcanon that trollings take about 3 months/12 weeks to develop in the pod) the pod had started to turn a really bright red color, which easily attracted the attention of chef. marney and topaz hid and thought their trolling pod was hidden well enough while chef came thru to take more trolls, and they were absolutely horrified when they saw chef rooting around in the knothole in the tree that the trolling pod was in with her fingers trying to grab it. chef just ended up like giving up and moving on to other, more accessible trolls eventually and marney and topaz just had to sit and wait until she left before they could go and check on the pod

- topaz and marney are both So Devastated when they see the pod all smashed and dying. topaz feels guilty for pushing marney to start a family when she was scared and now both their worst fears were just confirmed. theyre torn to pieces and just sit there with the crushed pod crying

- but then!!!! they hear a little baby crying!! inside the pod that they thought was crushed was a tiny babby......very premature, like she doesnt have all her color yet, her ears are crinkled up, hardly any hair, eyes arent even open yet, but shes alive!! and theyre both just completely overjoyed and take her back to their own pod immediately to make sure she’s okay since baby trollings laugh when theyre born, they dont cry (shes fine just scared/upset that she was kicked out of the pod so early lmao)

- marney becomes incredibly protective over baby pepper. topaz is protective too, but marney is next level. that baby is by her side almost 24/7. all wrapped up tight in a little blanket, tucked up in her hair. topaz wants to tell marney to calm down, but she still feels guilty over the entire situation, so she lets marney be a total helicopter parent for a while

- once pepper is at the level of development she shouldve been, marney does relax a tiny bit. pepper is still rly tiny and her ears never quite straightened out (which is why theyre kinda bent in her design) but shes plumped up and got a cute lil afro and marney’s eyes! they both love this happy lil baby to death

- as pepper gets older topaz and marney continue to disagree on parenting styles. topaz wants to let pepper live and learn, let her fall down and learn to pick herself back up, let her learn from experience. marney wants to keep pepper as safe as possible and wants her by marney’s side at all times. she hovers over pepper when shes learning to walk, freaks out if she does normal baby stuff like cough a little when eating or spits up or falls, and has trouble with leaving her alone for any length of time. marney argues that shes keeping their only child safe, while topaz argues that marney is doing the opposite by sheltering pepper

- this disagreement and the bad first experience with raising a trolling pod squashes out any want for more babies, which makes them both sad honestly

- once the troll tree escape happens and they make themselves comfortable in the new village (pepper is around 1-2 years old at this point), marney calms down considerably, feeling that the biggest threat to her family is gone. topaz is really glad to see her wife chill out and they both work together to raise pepper

- pepper’s rebellious years (13-16) are not received well by marney, who can do nothing but worry, but topaz is a little more relaxed about it. she recognizes that pepper is exploring some identities and is reacting to marney’s overprotective parenting. she doesnt let pepper get away with EVERYTHING but shes more lenient and understanding. this really annoys marney who just has the worst feeling that something bad is going to happen to pepper eventually if she keeps up this wild behavior. marney was also not thrilled when pepper got her motorcycle

- cue pepper’s bike crash, and marney is back to being obsessive with keeping her safe. topaz is also back to feeling guilty, feeling like if she had listened to marney and been a little stricter with pepper she wouldnt be in this situation. this is probably the heaviest, roughest part of marney and topaz’s relationship/marriage. it took pepper 1.5 years to recover fully (between the initial bodily trauma, physical therapy, and emotional/mental damage) and it took marney and topaz half of that time to not be so upset with each other, talk things out openly and honestly, and work together to be there for their daughter

- fast forward to the present. pepper hasnt lived with her parents for 4-5 years and is independent. marney and topaz are both proud of her and each other! marney is careful to not be so overbearing anymore, but can slip up and be a total worrier still. topaz does her best to not carry any guilt regarding the emotional toll on marney from pepper’s haphazard pod delivery/crash and the toll the crash took on pepper. she does sometimes wish she was a bit more careful like marney, but figures that together they balance each other out quite well. they have a lot more open communication about their wants/needs/feelings

- marney and topaz live together happily and love each other very much!!!
