just saw someone complain that they didn't like wyll in bg3 because he's "useless." my brother in christ you have complete control over every companion's class, abilities, and actions in combat if they're useless it's because you suck at using them.

unfortunately I started playing baldurs gate

Pokemon ScVi is like. The perfect game for me. It's an open world where I can spend two hours getting nothing accomplished except exploring, but unlike Skyrim/Fallout/BotW - all games I like but can't really love - when I do actually decide to advance the plot, I don't ragequit out of frustration with the combat mechanics, because it uses the exact same mechanics I've been playing for the last 20 years.

#if anything. the mechanics are easier #since the game shows type advanges/disadvantages now #and before anyone says anything about the example games i listed:#i'm very bad at videogames! terrible in fact!#even at the easiest difficulties i struggle a LOT with video games geared towards adults #which is an actual source of frustration and shame tbh

as much as i really miss a3 and all the cards i worked hard to collect, those events took so much out of me it was literally exhausting

like i would set timers so i knew when my sp would refresh. i even slept just long enough so that I wouldn’t waste too much sp. i did my best to save up my manju for near the end of events just in case i got too close to the ranking cut off. I couldn’t put my phone down for too long (like an hour) bc trying to get a finale to show up took forever

#desiree talks #obey me is easy to clear #ikevamp and sengoku arent bad #i never really got ikepri #ayakashi has a similar playstyle as a3 #but the team building is more complicated #out of the rhythm games i played utapri is the easiest #i dont like the note buttons or whatever to the vocaloid one much #and i hate how ‘good’ counts as a miss #utapri you clear one difficulty and you unlock auto for all of them even pro if you do easy #so farming event points are easy #i still hate the sound when you hit the note in jp rhythm games though #even with options i still dont like them i just want a nice sounding ‘shing!’

#i am irrationally fed up and instead of taking my frustration out on her i will just tell you all what she just said #her next question was who’s wei wuxian #i have also had difficulty with pronouncing some of the names correctly #jiang cheng is a bit hard for me i feel like i over enunciate and anything with zi- or zhi- is a struggle #and i won’t make excuses for myself i am working to learn the sounds and working to say them better #but by far the easiest most straight forward name in the whole show is lan zhan #we also hear it #as i said to her #20 fucking times an episode #even if you can’t get the zh right that’s no excuse for substituting straight up english words it’s so #it’s so disrespectful #and this is the same woman that tells me she’s super open and progressive i’m just too harsh on her #you’re sooooo open but you can’t even try!!!!! to say their names rigbt #i have also endured the standard racist comments of they all look the same quite a few times #why am i watching this with her again?#oh right i was trying to offer her an activity we can do together that might align with her interests too #because if i don’t offer something she never will and we just exist in silence #and then she complains that i never talk to her #so #ughhhhhh #mdzs
