I don't think we talk enough about how Baldurs Gate 3 is a narrative focused game that is so punishingly difficult you can only play it by using cheese strats

Every time I see my Rook, I go "MY BOYYY" and have to take a moment. Going to post some screenshots of him below a cut. There aren't any spoilers in them, though!

His hair looks red-brown in some lighting but he's got dark blond hair as you can see in this screenshot:

He's a Veil Jumper elven mage.

I've mostly been using the orb and dagger combo as you can see below. Love the way the fire orb glints off of his eyes and hair! Honestly, I love how different his hair and eye colors look in various lighting.

just saw someone complain that they didn't like wyll in bg3 because he's "useless." my brother in christ you have complete control over every companion's class, abilities, and actions in combat if they're useless it's because you suck at using them.

Pokemon ScVi is like. The perfect game for me. It's an open world where I can spend two hours getting nothing accomplished except exploring, but unlike Skyrim/Fallout/BotW - all games I like but can't really love - when I do actually decide to advance the plot, I don't ragequit out of frustration with the combat mechanics, because it uses the exact same mechanics I've been playing for the last 20 years.

Also for y'all challenge lovers out there, accessability settings like that could easily be made to go the opposite way too and make things even harder than normal. Like accessability features would be a great gateway to that if you want even more of a challenge. All devs gotta do is let their toggles and sliders go past intended values.

Not applicable to all kinds of games but my personal favourite would be a gameplay speed slider, like that's amazing for both people who struggle with the game's normal pace for physical and/or cognitive reasons as well as give some of the ultra cracked sweaty gamers something extra challenging.

Even outside of being accommodating to disabled people, properly made accessability settings are just good to have for everyone. This kinda gatekeeping is really stupid.

Growing up I used a lot of mods, cheats and hacks in (single and local multi player) games, often in ways that made things easier or enabled really overpowered exploits just because it was fun messing around and breaking the limits of the game. Whether I could beat the game normally or not was not even a thought.

And honestly I feel like a major reason why I'm good at video games is precisely because of easy modes and cheats growing up. And side note, playing games with your friends and/or siblings where all of you cheat to unfair degrees really teaches you a lot.

Also I love when I can break games via out of bounds glitches, sequence breaks or cheats, especially after 100% completing a game. There's no more need to keep up the illusion after that so why not reward players some extra fun time with the power to tear apart the entire stage.
