Roman’s deepest wish is to be accepted even at his smallest and most pathetic; to take off the mask his upbringing and social position have compelled him to wear. That’s why he so enjoys the slime puppy treatment.

i have sooo many thoughts on the absolute failure of detroit become human's message honestly like it's so crazy. kara's entire storyline is negated when alice is revealed to also be an android since not only does the "can a human child view an android as a parent" question completely disappear, suddenly everything you've done so far to "protect the kid" becomes meaningless since kara and alice are essentially the same age. and then the general issue of David Cage failing to make a good enough case as to why androids should be considered human to the point where the worst part about the bad endings is that it makes Hank, the only human main character, sad. and this is only like a fraction of the problems but i find it fascinating how even the main core and theme of the entire story falls apart as soon as you think about it for even a second

Although! I also enjoy him learning to navigate the world beyond what he can access via internet/social protocols and stumbling a little along the way. He’s aware of how the world works on an intellectual level, but actually having to experience life — going through the motions of surviving, of feeling emotions, of actually connecting with others on a deeper level beyond “pick an option from this algorithmically optimized list”, requires more nuance and forces him to show more vulnerability in order to learn and grow and connect. So I can imagine him being caught off guard, or having his intentions misread, or picking the wrong course of action, and feeling (at best) a little abashed and (at worst) mortified/guilty sometimes as a result. He’s confident and smart and adaptable, but nobody’s perfect, and I think he’s generally pretty hard on himself if his reactions to his failures in-game are any indication.

I still like to imagine him as more of an “ends justify the means” type of person, though. Imo he wouldn’t be above using deceit and manipulation to get what he wants even after deviating, but he’s also developing his own code of ethics separate from CyberLife’s that dictate when and how and to what extent he should use those tactics, and whether the consequences to his interpersonal relationships will be worth it.

Machine Connor on the other hand? He knows exactly what he’s doing and he’s here to wreck your shit 😌✨

So I started watching Succession somewhere between s2 n s3 and till yesterday, I was under the impression Rava Roy(?) is supposed to be of Indian descent (though why someone would name her after food idk) but then I saw some bts of s4 with the actress and I'm sure she's white or not idk 😂 Point is, can you tell if the kids are supposed to be adopted? (That's what was suggested in an article) like I'm so confused??? Are they biracial? Is her ethnicity ambiguous? I feel like maybe you might have the answer for me 😅

It's never explicitly stated, anon, but I'm pretty sure Rava is supposed to be Jewish.

Natalie Gold, the actress who plays her, is Jewish herself, and the name Rava actually has Hebrew origins dating back to around the year 300CE. Interestingly enough, it's actually traditionally a boy's name in Hebrew meaning a father, which feels pretty deliberate given the nature of the show. I think too that her being Jewish makes sense given the tension between her and Logan, and Kendall's hyper-sensitivity to Logan's anti-semitism, most notably in 3.04 which happened pretty quickly timeline-wise after Kendall retreated to (and took over) Rava's apartment when he didn't have anywhere else to go.

In that sense, I do think we're supposed to understand that Sophie is adopted, yes. I've talked about it on here before, but I tend to think that Iverson is biological, and it's that, plus him being a boy and white, that causes Logan to simultaneously dote on, weaponise and abuse Iverson more directly and visibly on screen than he does Sophie. As far as Logan's concerned, Iverson is the only heir beyond his children, and it's pretty clear that he's been found wanting. What that means for Sophie who is, of course, just as much Kendall and Rava's child, is open to speculation, but I think the show is deliberate in the way it focuses on Iverson and forces Sophie aside.

The way Connor even as "deviant" can still be accessed easily by CyberLife (including his location) like they prepared in case he would break the handler function. This doesn't happen with other models, they usually get totally disconnected (that's why nobody find 'em).

Even if Connor is his own master now in every sense AI Amanda still got the same type of admin access over him, she can fight Connor's rogue AI and he can't resist the breach. She can literally make forced calls and even trap Connor in their meeting room, leaving his body in dormant state. She can even trigger a full reset in real time and Connor can't fight or evade this activation, only try make it stop working after shit's already active-in process.

To think she got this type of access over him even when he got the handler system broke or bugged (non existent vs Connor as admin) raise... questions. It's really a powerful tool, especially in the war. Also works as trojan horse.

Now this is a true regulator. Why have a whole IT team monitoring Connor status when u can let the AI do all the fucking work? Mfs just want numbers. In the worst case scenario just activate a purge that reset or erase both 💀
