70 pages into Gideon the Ninth, it has a very similar vibe to Dune.

It replaces foresight with necromancy as the key mystical ability and exchanges one moody protagonist fighting for the survival of his house for TWO moody protagonists that want to hate fuck each other so bad (while one tries to save her house).

That’s where the similarities end so far, but boy am I here for it. I’m not saying it’s like Dune, but it has the same old-school sci-fi feel that is just delightful.

I think my favorite part about Hebrew translations into English is sometimes we have words that we can roughly translate, but a proper, full translation can’t really be done. A good example of this is Adonai, commonly translated as “the Lord” but it’s actually more complicated than that and we may not actually know what it means we can really only approximate it…

And then you have בית המלך (palace) which word for word literally means “the king house”
