am I the only one who thinks James wouldn’t smoke?

Like Sirius, Remus, Peter, Barty, Evan and Marlene? all their lungs are BLACK. Regulus, Mary, Dorcas, will thier friends occasionally, and Lily might smoke but James? I can’t really see it.

James would def get extremely drunk at parties and stuff but for me he just doesn’t smoke, and doesn’t wanna try. He doesn’t care abt people smoke int around him but he just won’t.

ranting about the fandom ( TW: opinions)

- remus is so badly mischaracterized, the shift from him being a soft sensitive kid despite the violent nature of his condition was so so important but now he is turned into this mean angry alpha male. i feel like the point of him being so sensitive was to contrast w him being a werewolf ya know. bring back weird and awkward remus

- gay ships that are just there because they’re gay is pretty strange. i’m speaking of the whole jegulus/pandalily/whatever new thing ppl come up with i don’t really understand the point of just thinking that making a couple gay makes them more interesting. seems a little counterproductive .

-jily loosing its popularity is killing me. bring back my 7 year slow burn prophecy beautiful love story they are the most important ship

-sirius being a feminine dramatic gay twink. this man was a motorcycle owning rebel strong guy. and believe it or not he CAN be gay and still be that. him being gay ( in our head canons) doesn’t mean he’s a woman

- turning gay ships into basically a straight relationship by making them so stereotypical ( wolfstar w feminine af sirius and strong man remus)

- shipping character that died and fought against a certain ideology and people that were actively apart of the problem is kinda crazy. like jegulily? my brother in christ regulus wanted her dead.

-fanon regulus. he was a strong willed DEATH EATER he wasn’t forced into it or abused by his family. it.is.stated.in.the.book.

-deatheaters are interesting characters BUT don’t tell me people are babying and glorifying them in a effort to explore their complexity.

-some of you are blinded by the fancasts and forgot all about what the characters are.

- the new fan casts are meeeh. they’re not all supposed to be supermodels…

- jegulus taking over the fandom is insane.

-andromeda should be getting the regulus treatement she is what you made regulus into.

-frank and alice should be more loved.

- the romantization of that whole pureblood supremacist squad is NOT cute.

-james potter my beloved.

- i don’t really like the idea of the casanova being remus. i feel like it would james or sirius based on how remus talked about his high school years

- jily is way too important to the universe to be discredited.

-lily evans being put behind regulus is CRAZY. my girl did not die for this bs

-sirius being criticized for leaving is wild. regulus was not abused and didn’t even want to leave. sirius was mistreated.

- i kind of like the idea of the developed character of walburga. sirius said she wasn’t a deatheater. and i like people writing her as a more complex character.

- as much as i love wolfstar, james and sirius’s relationship stays the central point of the gang.

-ships have taken way too much importance over the friendships of the group.

-i feel like a people make female characters into lesbians ( like lily ) just because they are strong characters and it’s weird.

- yes once she got married to james she was lily POTTER and she was a mother just like james was FATHER they’re is nothing wrong with that.

- jegulus/ any ship between a member of the order and a deatheater is just plain stupid sorry but if your head canons goes completely against the core of a character it’s just a wrong statement.

The wedding was everything Sirius Black never thought he would have.

Not because he hadn’t dreamed of it—not because he hadn’t pictured standing at the altar, watching you walk down the aisle toward him, heart hammering so loudly he could barely hear anything else.

No, it was because for a long time, he hadn’t believed he deserved this.

Love had always been something fragile in his life. He had grown up in a house where it was conditional, twisted into something suffocating and cruel. It wasn’t until he met you—this breathtakingly stubborn, impossibly kind woman—that he realized love wasn’t something to be earned. It was something to be shared. Something to be trusted.

And now, here you were.

Sirius barely registered the murmurs of the guests as the doors opened. His world narrowed to you. The way the sunlight caught in your hair, the way your dress hugged you in all the right places, the way your eyes locked onto his like he was the only thing in the world.

His breath caught. Merlin, he was in so much trouble.

You reached the altar, standing before him with that soft, knowing smile, and Sirius felt something in his chest tighten.

The ceremony passed in a blur of words and promises, but when it came time for the vows, Sirius exhaled slowly, took your hands in his, and for the first time in his life, spoke without his usual bravado.

"I used to think love was something people made up," he admitted, his voice quieter than usual. "Something for fairy tales and fools."

You smiled faintly, squeezing his hands.

"But then I met you. And suddenly, love wasn’t something other people had. It was real. It was you."

You inhaled sharply, eyes glistening.

"I would recognize you in another lifetime," he continued, his voice steadier now. "Entirely in different bodies, different times. And I would love you in all of them, until the very last star in the sky burned out into oblivion."

There was a stunned silence.

Sirius had never seen you at a loss for words before. It was entirely unfair how beautiful you looked while trying not to cry.

"Sirius..." you breathed, shaking your head like you couldn't quite believe him.

He grinned. "Bit much?"

You let out a breathless laugh, swiping at your eyes. "No, you idiot, it’s perfect."

"That’s good," he murmured, tugging you just a little closer. "Because I mean every word."

Your lips parted, something unreadable flickering across your expression before you shook your head, laughing softly.

And when you said your vows—when you promised to love him in every lifetime, in every world—Sirius Black, for the first time in his reckless, chaotic life, knew what it meant to be truly, hopelessly, and irrevocably home.

you've mentioned your sorting of remus, but how would you sort the other marauders? maybe snape and lily too?

Remus I think you could plausibly sort multiple ways, because that primary is super Burnt. But I do think he's probably a Lion Badger, and that's how I write him. Partly because I think it's interesting if he house-matches Peter (that's an old sorting that uses the old terminology, but I stand by it.) Who is definitely a Lion Badger.

Sirius is so obviously a Snake Lion, do I even need to explain it? James (and then Harry) is his Person. Remus, Lily, Peter... they're important but they're not JAMES. Regulus - that relationship is written ambiguously enough that it could fit multiple places, in regards to Sirius' loyalty. James himself seems like an immature Glory Hound Lion who matures into a Paragon Lion. You can see his Lion secondary in how he deals with Voldemort, how much he hates being cooped up, and how attached-at-the-hip he is with Sirius.

Lily... is another one I think you could argue multiple ways. Probably not a Double Lion, romantic couples usually don't match exactly. I do get Snake primary energy from the way she stays friends with Severus even after none of her friends like him and he starts going off into the political deep end. She waits for something pretty extreme to happen before she cuts him off... and then she does cut him off pretty dramatically. She's certainly not afraid of confrontation... so maybe Lion secondary, like James and Sirius? I guess James likes Lion Snakes.

Severus... for ages I thought he was a Snake Bird. I do think the Bird secondary is fairly obvious: he collects skills and knowledge, he's an inventor, a happy Snape is an info-dumping Snape, his spying ability is framed in terms of a learned skill (occlumency.) And I was like, the Lily thing = Snake. Done.

But now I don't think so. Lily isn't a person to him, at least not during the main timeline of the books. She's the symbolic corner stone of his constructed morality system. Like we see him start to build it, that's what the the conversation Dumbledore is all about, and we see the first step of the process, where "Protect Lily" is expanded into "Protect Lily, James, and Harry." If you build a moral framework to facilitate the core concept "Protect Lily" and then it stays in place after Lily is dead... well, that's a very rigid, not very healthy Bird primary, but that is a Bird primary.

I am seeing all these posts about how this fandom is glorifiying rasicts and the rich and how cannon james or regulus or barty would never do that and how snape is a good person and honestly, I am done. Why does it matter? Who actually gives a fuck? Let me enjoy my fics in peace, there is enough hate in the outside world why bring it on here too? And if you are so annoyed with the current marauder fandom have you considered leaving/ignorong it? There's this rule with content that if you don't like it don't interact with it, just scoll past it. So if you're anoyed with the current fandom that's your mistake.
