If you are able to leave your home, you are available to heed a mandatory evacuation order. There are resources available for people unable to travel.

Serious!!!
To anyone in Florida, please be as safe as possible with the arrival of hurricane Milton, please make sure you are prepared with food and water and everything else you need and try to stay updated on the news.. it seems that it is going to be a pretty serious storm with pretty serious surges especially in the Tampa area, and if you are able to evacuate from those evacuation ordered areas please do so.. if not that means you are riding it out, do as much prep as you can, board up those windows, get sandbags and such, and hunker down as much as possible... stay safe everyone!!!

DF spokesperson: The translation from Arabic that has now spread across platforms is imprecise.  To clarify, the IDF has no intention of considering those who have yet to evacuate as a member of a terrorist group.  The IDF states, once again, for the safety of Gazan civilians, that they should evacuate to the south of Wadi Gaza. All those who remain are endangering themselves due to the Hamas’ terrorist activities within civilian areas.

Israeli attempts to scar Palestinians
As if it weren't already doing enough, it's playing a morbid cat and mouse psyop game. Insane. Sadistic. And not belonging to the 21st century.

California Fires: The Pacific Palisades Blaze and the Ongoing Battle Against Wildfires
Tumblr media
California is once again in the grip of devastating wildfires, with the Pacific Palisades Fire taking center stage as it threatens communities, disrupts lives, and underscores the ongoing challenges posed by climate change. With gusty winds, dry conditions, and rising temperatures fueling the flames, residents and first responders are facing a dire situation.
Overview of the Pacific Palisades Fire
The Pacific Palisades Fire, which erupted earlier this week, has rapidly spread across the densely populated region. According to KTLA, strong winds and bone-dry vegetation have exacerbated the blaze, making it challenging for firefighters to establish control. As of Wednesday evening, evacuation orders remain in effect for several neighborhoods, with over 1,200 acres burned and containment efforts ongoing.
Residents have shared harrowing accounts of the fire’s swift advance. James Woods, the renowned actor, shared his own close call with the flames, describing the moment he had to flee his home as a "race against time," as reported by CNN. His experience highlights the unpredictable and dangerous nature of these wildfires.
The Human Impact
For many residents, the Pacific Palisades Fire is more than just a headline—it's a life-altering event. Evacuees have described the chaos of leaving their homes, unsure of what they might return to. Emergency shelters have been set up across Los Angeles, offering temporary refuge for those displaced.
Local businesses have also felt the effects, with closures and supply chain disruptions adding to the economic strain. The fire has prompted community members to band together, offering support through donations, volunteer efforts, and emotional encouragement.
The Role of Climate Change
California’s wildfire seasons have grown longer and more severe in recent years, with experts pointing to climate change as a significant contributing factor. Rising temperatures, prolonged drought conditions, and erratic weather patterns create the perfect storm for wildfires to ignite and spread.
The Los Angeles Times notes that the Pacific Palisades Fire is part of a troubling trend: an increase in "urban wildfires" where natural landscapes collide with densely populated areas. These fires pose unique challenges, not only in terms of firefighting but also in ensuring public safety in urbanized regions.
The First Responders' Heroic Efforts
Firefighters and emergency personnel have been working tirelessly to combat the Pacific Palisades Fire. Helicopters and air tankers have been deployed to drop water and fire retardant, while ground crews battle flames in challenging terrain.
The efforts of first responders have drawn widespread praise, with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass calling them "true heroes" in a recent press conference. She also urged residents to follow evacuation orders and remain vigilant, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation during emergencies.
Preparing for the Future
As California faces increasingly destructive wildfire seasons, officials and experts are exploring ways to mitigate risks and improve preparedness. Key strategies include:
Enhanced fire prevention measures: Controlled burns, vegetation management, and firebreaks can help reduce fuel for fires.
Investments in technology: Drones, satellites, and AI-powered tools are being used to detect and monitor fires more effectively.
Public education campaigns: Teaching residents how to create defensible spaces around their homes and prepare for evacuations is crucial.
How to Help
The Pacific Palisades Fire has sparked an outpouring of support from across the country. If you’re looking to make a difference, here are some ways to help:
Donate to relief organizations: Groups like the Red Cross and local charities are providing food, shelter, and resources to those affected.
Volunteer: Whether it’s helping at evacuation centers or assisting with cleanup efforts, your time can make a meaningful impact.
Raise awareness: Share accurate information about the fire and its effects to help others understand the gravity of the situation.
Conclusion
The Pacific Palisades Fire is a stark reminder of the challenges posed by California’s worsening wildfire seasons. As communities come together to support one another, the need for long-term solutions to address climate change and improve wildfire management has never been more apparent.
Stay updated on this developing story and join the efforts to support those impacted by the Pacific Palisades Fire. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every action counts in the fight against these devastating blazes.

Hurricanes aren't a joke. Listen to those fucking evacuation orders and weather alerts. Don't panic, but listen and take them fucking seriously.
I nearly lost my family last night. They lost their house for the foreseeable future. I stayed up until 2 am giving them directions to where I was so they could have shelter for the night and helping them get situated after they barely managed to get out alive. But their house is wrecked. It's fucked. They refused to evacuate despite me always urging them to (they live in an A zone but are stubborn people). They didn't think they'd get flooded so fast, but flooding happens faster than you think. They only managed to get out because my dad's truck is borderline immortal for whatever god damn reason but the flood water they drove through was killing all the other cars around them, and their other vehicles are dead now.
If you're in a flood zone and you're told to evacuate because of life threatening storm surges or ANYTHING, you fucking go, and you bring anyone who needs your help with you. I don't care if you think you'll be fine, you don't have plot armor. Get the fuck out. Emergency services won't come to evacuated zones in the middle of the storm when you're most likely to get completely fucked over by it. For the love of god don't walk in flood water and if you have to, disinfect any open cuts you have the second you're able and keep an eye/have it checked out in case of infection. You dont know what's in that water. You can't be "prepared" to face a flood at your front door. Your belongings are replaceable and you aren't. It can happen to anyone.
My family learned a lesson in an extremely harsh way last night, and I don't want other people to learn that lesson the same way, because regardless of "well you should have--", I think no one should experience this actually. I'm just glad I was in a position to help, because no one else could.

let me stop posting on my dev blog about this but you all are NAWT gonna piss me off, most people in NC didn't even get told to evacuate until it was too late (people were still expected to be working at their jobs!!), they are quite literally flooded in and trapped, the roads to evacuate are destroyed and/or completely underwater. asheville is completely cut off, people cannot contact their loved ones at all right now. i feel like so many people are not grasping how much this storm has destroyed from florida all the way to tennessee, and how unprecedented it is for it to have hit so far inland up in the southern appalachia area.
also as usual people love to shit on southern states and pretend like we deserve these natural disasters when they happen, just like when texas lost power in 2021, like some of you truly just revel in the misery and pain of other people if it makes you feel superior in some way and i really need you to sit with that and come to jesus, preferably far away from me. like these comments are making me nauseous you all are evil

Your tags "#oh it was said in the books that past victors would#be used by the Capitol if someone wanted to have sex with them#in exchange for money for the President#and this anakin finding out that that happened to his obi-wan#would ALSO be his reason to start a very targeted revolution" for the hunger games au were delightful. I feel like Anakin's goal would be partly finding a list of people who took advantage of that. Does anyone discover Anakin's reasons for starting the revolution? Or does he just say several disquieting things and people decide that no, they really don't want to think about it anymore.
anakin: this is a list of people who we must kill to ensure the downfall of the Capital and to realize our mission.
rebel leader: sir this is just a list of names of bored socialites and wives of prominent leaders —
anakin: this is a list of people have committed the most grievous of trespasses against me
obi-wan, hands over his face: anakin you were six years old at the time
