EVA Moms 5 𖨆 𐀪 𖠋 𐀪 𐀪

I'm dividing the EVAs by the series and the rebuilds!! It's more of a senior-junior dynamic because the Rebuilds only existed since what, 2010s?? But yeah I see them as senpais and kouhais from different generations of Evangelion!!

Okay so here EVA-05 is a gentle giant mom, like WOW look at how massive that thing is and then two seconds later that giant thing approach you while offering some Oreos. That while EVA-08 is basically a comedian mom so yeah expect screams and laughter whenever you're with them. Also both 05 and 08 cares for Mari so DUAL EVA PARENTING YEAHHH 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Then we have Mark.06 as the cool mom. Like, you know, the one who's a fashion savvy and randomly shows up at school to pick you up to the mall. And then there's Mark.09, the hardworking mom with double personalities (I'm gonna explore this more later). And last we have EVA-13 as a "The-Bio-Mom-Won't-Let-Me-Touch-Our-Son" stepmom of Shinji because 01 would be pissed to find them hanging out with him

Wanted to draw an Eva again, but one that isn't Unit 02 nor 01 (tho this /is/ slightly 01). The lower arms were fun, and I liked adding the glow on the shoulder and elbow decals. I do kinda find this one easier to remember since there's no forearm guards(?)

This one might become at least my second favourite Eva, because of who and what it represents in, how it ties itself into, and what it adds to, the story of Evangelion as a final wall for Shinji to overcome.

But also Cool Big Robot. With Spear. And Four Arms.

it's very complicated because i understand the mariage sorcière as something very genuine when i look at maria together with beato, idk it never gave me the impression of being insincere or whatever on beato's part. but then when i think of this in like the context of rokkenjima's massacre, of maria acting as this messenger for beatrice, my usual thought is always that this beatrice person is TRICKING maria, they're BRAINWASHING her etc etc as something negative and insincere. and like... what...? just what am i thinking, why do i think it's insincere when it's been said so many times that without love this thing cannot be understood ksgdks but then i don't understand anything that's going on around here

finished Brain Powerd today. Around an hour and a half after finishing it, trying to remember anything that happens feels like trying to recall a show you watched many years ago while either drunk or deeply sad. maybe both. It actively refuses to be remembered in concrete detail. Twenty six episodes of squandered late 90s Sunrise animation and Yoko Kanno soundtrack. Twenty six episodes of unedited NaNoWriMo-style word salad in clumsy conversation with the 1995 mecha juggernaut that arrived the year before. Twenty six episodes of hellish-to-draw Nagano robot designs.

less than two hours after its completion all animus has left my body, replaced with an uneasy sense of temporal displacement. I watched this eight years ago. I watched it today. It's 2017. wake up. it's 2017. Right? Sure. It's March of 2017. I watched Brain Powerd and it was not a good television show, on this, a day in 2017. there's still time. It's 2017. I will watch it 8 years in the future. I will watch it yesterday. There's still time. It's 2017!!!

Just a quick question: in the WondLa Show, were you able to decode what Rovee was saying before he gave Eva the translation gum?

Somewhat-- the thing about the show is that it does not provide subtitles for the Orbonian language, which is annoying, so I won't be able to transcribe most words. However, I'll give a transcription based off of vibes my best shot!

Interestingly enough, Besteel doesn't have any dialogue beyond grunts and laughter until after Eva gets the Jargum, so Rovender's the only one with Orbonian language dialogue.

Very likely "Quiet!"

"Sheesa, Besteel!" (7:57, Rovender)

"Sheesa" is an exclamation and thus has no direct translation. This would be like us going "Shit, Besteel!" or some other similar exclamation.

Exclamation (8:05, Rovender)

Probably "Run!", based on the way he and Eva yell at the same time and take off right after.

"Ha-ka! Ha-ka." (sp.) (9:55, Rovender)

Likely "Over there! Over there." or something to that effect.
