(I might add that there's no domesticated breeds like we have in real life in Atrea, so I'm mostly sticking to wild species. This one would be an incredibly scruffy, unhealthy looking melanistic european wildcat.)

Hello! This is my infant, I know she's a mackerel tabby, but I wonder if she's more ticked than usual? I don't think she's fully ticked but i feel like her stripes fade into each other. She's my first tabby, so it may be normal but I was curious your thoughts. (Her name is Willow and she's in her rebellious teenage hood) Love your blog!

It's seems pretty usual to me, if a bit on the "chaotic" side of the pattern, but that's rather the norm, not the exception. If anything, it makes it closer to the wild type!

The wildcats: none of them has particularly defined patterns.

The European wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris).

The wildcat is one of the only two autochthonous felines in Europe, the other one being the lynx.

In Catalonia, they live in the forests of the Pyrenee and Pre-Pyrenee mountain ranges, the Parc Natural dels Ports, and Montseny. They're also relatively common in the Valencian Country's rural inland mountains. Despite their presence, it's very rare for hikers to see them, because they're mostly nocturnal and they don't come near humans.

It can be differentiated from domestic cats because the wildcat has black lines behind its head that can go down to the top of its back, has a black dorsal line through all its back until the beginning of the tail (in domestic cats, this line tends to go all the way to the tail), the wildcat has a thicker tail with 2 to 5 black rings near the tip, which also tends to be black.

Okay so this cool project i have on right now is basically wild cats in folk dress!

The first one is european wildcat in the fallera dress from Valencia, Spain

I try to pick a county based on the natural habitat of that cat im portraying and make sure I don't accidentally mix pieces with totally different towns. Some of the costumes are bridal, some for specific festivities like the Fallas de Valencia!
