hey so uhh. I honestly don’t know what to open this post with but I do, unironically, recommend eureka! investigative urban fantasy to everyone, I’ve read thru the rule book, I’m in both servers and I must say. It’s worth it. It’s worth paying for. Everyone in the servers are lovely, I’ve made new friends (well I’d count them as friends anyway), and you can play ttrpgs (including eureka!) with said people! look. I can’t force you to buy eureka! or silk & dagger, but if you want to give your money to a small indie ttrpg who’s creators deserve the money (more than multibillion corporations)! Id seriously recommend it. I’m not super well-versed in ttrpgs, but eureka! is easy enough for me to understand while still allowing for complex characters and the like! Another fun thing is a bunch of new modules will be coming out for eureka! soon as well.

So please, if you’re considering supporting. Do it

"The Bureau's finest" - well, not anymore!

Recently got into @anim-ttrpgs' Eureka! TTRPG and I'm enamored by the unique game mechanics and creatures, especially the TFBs and just couldn't resist making a little guy to play.

Excerpt from his file:

"A disgraced FBI agent, twice suspended in the past five years, working hard to restore his career and reputation. He's lost the faith of the bureau and his teammates, and his job is on thin ice should he fail to resolve his latest assignment. Several former friends and co-workers have stated on record that Saul has been 'off his game' and behaving erratically ever since he returned from a botched assignment, the exact details surrounding which are still unclear."

Long story short, Agent Sharpe ran into the woods chasing down a suspect and came back very, very wrong. After the incident his partner transferred to a different department, cut ties with him, and became obsessed with UFOs for definitely unrelated reasons.

But really just he's a normal guy who works hard and loves gossip. All he does every day is go to work, yap at his coworkers, bust ass on wild goose chases, eat his body weight in food, and watch movies all night. His unfurled shape is circular, ~6ft in diameter, and looks like a pancake!

As per the rules, he has very little support from the bureau and even fewer allies in law enforcement. He's basically been cut off from all the FBI's resources and they're just waiting for him to quit on his own.

It's not about laws. It's not about justice and injustice. It's not about how the system is corrupted and the only way to fight it is the power of friendship and this gun I found. Chapter 11 of Eureka! Sneak peek :0

A wave catches her attention, and she smiles as she sees JJ sitting on a barstool, leaning casually, a beer already hanging from his fingers as he rests his elbow on the counter. They hug tightly before Kiara takes a seat on the barstool to his right. After ordering a beer for herself, he asks how she is. Even as she responds with what is expected of her, Kiara can’t help but consider how she’s really been doing these past few days. She could be doing so much better. “I mean, business is good,” JJ answers after she fires the same question back at him. “I’m even thinking of hiring some help. Things are getting too busy for just one person, you know.” Then he proceeds to share with Kiara how successful his business has become. He’s getting more and more work around Kildare—hell, even people in Figure 8 call him to fix things. He’s building a reputation. And for once, a good one. Kiara is happy for him, really. It’s good that he could finally replace his old truck, and he’s even looking to buy a property, a house in the future. Start a family, he says. His eyes shine when he says that. She swears she sees a revelation in them. Kiara’s not sure if she likes what she sees.

We know that Yuu is from our world, right? And let's say they know the Disney stories. And I'm sure some of you have had ideas with the songs of Disney being 'magic songs/recitals/ritual songs' used to cast magic and have posted about this before.

But what if there was something a bit more horrifying? The Disney characters we know and love so happen to have often be based off of the old stories from the brothers grimm.

I think some of you may know where I'm going with this, maybe. But would the brothers grimm be called the actual truth about the Disney characters? The great seven? That what they know about the great seven so happen to be total rubbish? If their world was actually...much much darker and had been filled with propaganda, because in their world—the villains won.

And if...if Yuu, also us, been sent to Twisted wonderland, with a brothers grimm book. And that not only are the songs from the Disney movies powerful chants, but the 'ancient script.'

In Cinderella, the movie was all about love and being rewarded for your goodness and hardwork, and punished for the opposite of those. And to find the truth.

Same with the old story from Aschenputtel. And in Aschenputtel, there's a sentence from the bird that helped show the truth:

'Take a peep, take a peep, the shoe holds blood.'

(In the story, the evil stepsister have been forced by the evil stepmother to cut off a piece of their heel and foot to fit in the shoe. But have been exposed by the bird.)

And if people in twisted wonderland only speak Japanese, and English is magic chanting, what if german or Latin where the ultimate ancient chants?!

(I don't think Vil can speak German, even though he has a German alst name. Sorry Leute aber das ist meine meinung weil, Yuu sollte unheimlich in diese Version sein.)

So, 'take a peep, take a peep, the shoe holds blood', could be used as to show the truth? Like a chant of truth, but 20 times more effective. And by that the chanter could practically make them hallucinate the truth...or is it the truth? The bird wanted to say the truth to help Aschenputtel, what if you could actually use that chant to bend someone to your opinion?

And let's fancy that shit up guys.

'Take a peep, take a peep, the shoe holds blood, tainted red. Heed my words and follow my voice, for I know the truth of this tale we speak.'

Kurt is lovely and hilarious and is very good with his hands. (I obviously mean with the computer, duh.) I love the accent and the tattoos and that hair is A Choice. He'll sing you lullabies from his home country!

There’s nothing I want more in 2025 than to finish writing Eureka! once and for all. It’s been months since I have written anything at all.
