UNSPOKEN- Ellie x Reader (part 1)
Part 2 (coming soon)
Warnings: some cussing, use of weapons, angst???
♡ i apologize for any mistakes it's midnight 🫠 also because I feel like I have to clarify... reader is not male.. duh
Summary: Tension and miscommunication strain your relationship with Ellie. After a dangerous encounter and a heated argument at a bonfire, unspoken feelings and frustrations leave things unresolved.
The air in Jackson was cold this morning, cold enough to cut through the multiple layers you wore. You tightened your jacket, your fingers tingling as you rubbed them together for warmth. The faint buzz of the town’s early risers filled the background: soft conversations, the distant hammering from the workshop, the gentle whinny of horses as they were prepped for the day. The familiar scent of hay and leather lingered in the cold air, grounding you in the fragile normalcy Jackson offered—a normalcy you hadn’t dared dream of until you arrived.
But today, even the comfort of routine couldn’t shake the knot in your stomach. As you neared the stables, your heart sank. She was already there.
Ellie was bent over Shimmer’s saddle, adjusting the straps with intensity, which had become her signature in recent weeks. She didn’t notice you at first, or if she did, she didn’t show it. Her posture was tense, her movements brisk, like she was bracing herself for something—or someone.
It hadn’t always been this way. When you first arrived, she had been one of the first to welcome you. Shared jokes, easy smiles, and a promising friendship that was growing into something a little more than just friends. But Ellie suddenly became cold and angry, leaving you hurt and confused.
“Morning,” Dina’s voice broke through your thoughts, cheerful as ever. She led her horse by the reins, her presence a welcome distraction.
“Hey,” you replied, forcing a smile. “Ready for this?”
“Always,” she said, her grin infectious. Behind her, Jesse appeared, his and Dina's lax posture a stark contrast to the tension radiating from Ellie.
“Let’s make this quick,” Jesse said. “They’re making pork belly tonight, and I am not missing that.”
You laughed, but the warmth didn’t last. Ellie finally looked up, her green eyes landing on you for the briefest moment before snapping back to Shimmer. “Of fucking course," she muttered, just loud enough for you to hear.
You stiffened, your fingers tightening on your reins. Dina shot you an apologetic glance. “Play nice, Ellie. It’s too early for this.”
Ellie shrugged, mounting Shimmer without another word. The group moved out, the clop of hooves on frozen ground filling the silence.
♡♡♡
The path out of Jackson was quiet. Frost clung to the trees, glittering in the morning light, and your breath puffed out in small clouds as you rode. Dina and Jesse kept the conversation light, talking about patrol schedules and the latest gossip from town. You stayed quiet, your eyes on the trail ahead, but your mind was elsewhere.
Ellie’s hostility gnawed at you. It wasn’t just the cold remarks or the way she avoided your gaze. It was the loss of what you’d had before. Now, every interaction felt like walking on broken glass. No matter how hard you tried, Ellie wouldn’t hear it.
“So,” Dina said, turning in her saddle to look at you, “you up for a bonfire tonight? It’s been a while since we had one.”
You shrugged. “Is it going to end like last time? Up in flames.”
Jesse snorted. “I’ll never late Nate live that down. What a clutz.”
Dina laughed. “Eugene promised to never give him a joint again.”
Ellie’s voice cut through the lighthearted banter like a blade. “Focus on the job, this isn’t playtime.”
The smile slipped from Dina’s face, and she exchanged a quick glance with Jesse. You tightened your grip on the reins, the familiar frustration bubbling up inside you.
“We’re allowed to talk, Ellie,” you said, keeping your tone even. “It doesn’t mean we’re not paying attention.”
Ellie turned her head slightly, just enough for you to see the edge of her scowl. “Whatever. Just don’t screw this up.”
“I won’t if you don’t,” you shot back before you could stop yourself.
The silence that followed was heavier than the morning chill. Dina cleared her throat awkwardly, trying to ease the tension. “So, uh, anyone remember where we’re headed first?”
Ellie’s eyes stayed on the trail ahead. “There’s an old convenience store a few miles out. It might have some supplies.”
You bit your tongue, swallowing the retort that was on the tip of your tongue. This run was going to be long enough without adding more fuel to the fire. Jesse and Dina didn’t deserve it. They had already put up with the two of you for the past couple of weeks.
Dina was the one who tried her hardest to get the two of you to work it out. All she was able to manage was to get the two of you on somewhat speaking terms. Said speaking terms were usually just sarcastic remarks and full blown arguments. But… It was progress.
♡♡♡♡
By the time you reached the convenience store, the sun was higher in the sky, casting long shadows across the cracked asphalt of the parking lot. The building was half-collapsed, its windows shattered and its sign faded to near illegibility. Weeds grew unchecked through the concrete, and the faint smell of rot lingered in the air.
“Looks promising,” Jesse said sarcastically, dismounting his horse.
“We’ll split up,” Ellie said, tying Shimmer to a post near the entrance. “Dina, you’re with Jesse. We’ll take the other side.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but Dina gave you a warning look, shaking her head slightly. Reluctantly, you nodded and followed Ellie into the crumbling building.
Inside the convenience store, the air was thick with decay. Dust hung in the faint shafts of light filtering through cracks in the boarded-up windows. Shelves lay toppled, their contents strewn across the floor, long since picked through by scavengers.
Ellie’s flashlight cut through the dimness ahead, her silence heavier than the gloom. You followed, your own light darting over the shadows, your grip on your gun tight. The quiet between you felt daunting, the patrol making it worse.
“Find anything?” Ellie’s voice broke the silence, sharp and impatient.
“Not yet,” you replied evenly, though your irritation simmered beneath the surface.
She huffed. “Figures.”
You couldn’t hold back anymore. “What is your problem?”
Ellie whirled to face you, her flashlight beam momentarily blinding. “My problem? You’re the one who—” She cut herself off, her jaw clenching.
“Say it,” you challenged, stepping closer. “Whatever it is, just say it.”
Ellie’s jaw tightened, her knuckles white against the flashlight. “You wouldn’t get it.”
“Well just try me.”
Her eyes burned with anger, but before she could respond, a guttural growl sent chills racing down your spine. Both of you froze, your weapons snapping up as the sound grew louder. A clicker.
You and Ellie exchanged a glance, all hostility forgotten as the sounds of the clicker came closer. Without a word, she gestured for you to hide. You hesitated, not wanting to split up, but there was no time to argue.
The clicker stumbled into view, its grotesque form illuminated by your flashlight. You quickly circled around, trying to stay quiet as Ellie moved to flank it. But then your backpack brushed against a shelf, sending a can tumbling to the floor.
The sound was deafening in the silence. The clicker screeched and lunged, pushing you flat on your back. Its rotten teeth snapped close to your neck as you let out a scream. Panic overtook you, your hands fumbling for your knife as the creature pinned you to the ground.
The world blurred, you could hear heart threatening to burst through your chest. Ellie’s voice shouted something you couldn’t make out. Just as the clicker’s teeth lunged toward your neck, a gunshot rang out, its head jerking violently before collapsing on top of you. Blood splattered your face, the coppery tang filling your senses.
Ellie stood above you, gun smoking, her face twisted in fury. “What the hell were you thinking?”
You shoved the clicker off, your breath coming in ragged gasps. “I was trying—”
You had enough. You scrambled to your feet, anger flaring in your chest as you wiped furiously at your face. “Are you kidding me? It was an accident, Ellie. I didn’t mean for that to happen—”
“Trying to get yourself killed?” she snapped. “You're never coming on patrol again, you're too much of a fucking liability.”
“Don’t.” She cut you off, stepping closer. “You never mean for anything to happen, and yet somehow, it always does. And guess who has to clean up the mess? Me.”
You wiped your bloody hands on your jacket, your hands trembling. “What are you even talking about? I seriously don't understand why you're mad at me right now. Maybe you should’ve let it kill me.”
“Maybe I should have,” Ellie shot back, but the moment the words left her mouth, her jaw tightened like she regretted it.
You froze, her words sinking in like ice. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
Ellie’s nostrils flared. “What’s wrong with me?” Her voice cracked, raw and sharp. “Are you serious? You don’t get to play the victim here.”
You roll your eyes in frustration,“Victim? What are- God, just explain it to me!”
You stepped closer, refusing to back down. “Because I’m done guessing! One minute we’re fine, and the next you’re treating me like I’m some burden you can’t get rid of fast enough!”
“You are a burden!” Ellie snapped. The words came out too fast, too loud, and her face paled as soon as she said them.
You recoiled, her words cutting deeper than you wanted to admit. “Wow. Glad we cleared that up.”
Ellie shook her head, her voice quieter but still sharp. “You don’t get it.”
“Then make me get it! Stop dancing around whatever this is, and just tell me! Why are you so angry?"
She looked at you then, her eyes blazing with something you couldn’t quite name—anger, hurt, fear. But instead of answering, she shook her head and turned away. “Forget it.”
“Ellie!”
“No!” She spun back around, her voice rising again. “Just drop it, okay? We have a job to do. That’s all this is.”
You swallowed hard, your throat tight. “You don’t get to just walk away from this.”
Ellie’s expression hardened. “Watch me.” She turned and stormed down the aisle, her boots crunching over broken glass.
You stood there for a moment, your chest heaving as you tried to pull yourself together. But you weren’t done with this—not by a long shot.
“This isn’t over,” you muttered, grabbing the nearest can off the shelf and shoving it into your pack before following her.
The rest of the search passed in tense silence, both of you working quickly but avoiding each other’s eyes. By the time you pushed through the doors into the daylight, Dina and Jesse were already there, their horses loaded up. Dina waved, her expression faltering when she saw the tension still etched into both your faces.
“You guys okay? Who's blood-” Dina asked.
Ellie shoved her pack onto her horse. “Clickers.”
Dina and Jesse's gaze snap towards you. You tossed your own bag into the saddle and mounted up, not even looking in their direction.
Dina leaned in, whispering, “You good?”
You forced a smile. “Peachy.”
Ellie didn’t say a word as the group rode back toward Jackson, but you could feel her presence like a weight pressing against you. Whatever this was between you—it wasn’t finished. Not even close.

The ride to the radio tower in Cody was not something you looked forward to when you read your name on the patrol rotation board.
You did not particularly enjoy sitting on horseback for a longer amount of time ever since you injured your tailbone just before you got to Jackson almost four years ago. The injury had fully healed of course, but certain movements still made you sore.
But you were never one to complain and saw the bright parts of such a journey.
Spending one on one time with Joel Miller for example.
Not that you didn’t spend time with him anyway ever since he moved into your home almost two years ago. But there was something exciting knowing you and him would be almost alone for miles and miles. Well except for the two other people who were also on patrol which would be Eugene and one of the newer residents of Jackson a young woman named Katy.
„I could talk to Maria, tell her you’re sick,“ Joel offered, his chin resting on your shoulder as he stood behind you his chest against your back, his arms caging you against the counter where you prepared a big to go cup (thanks to a Starbucks raid earlier this year) with Coffee for him and a fresh mint tea for you.
„That’s awfully nice of you, but I finally convinced myself to pretend it’s like a little 3 day vacation.“
„Oh yeah?“ He asked and you nodded, smiling as you felt his nose against your neck, breathing you in.
„Jup. You know, five star accommodation in a… abandoned farmhouse, food and drinks all inclusive, spa treatments….“ You listed.
„Oh yeah I can see it. Rustic survival experience package included,“ he hummed and you chuckled.
„See? The amount of money you’d have to pay for that like twenty years ago,“ you put the lid on both of the travel cups and turned around, tilting your head up to look up at him. His hair was still wet, combed back. He had shaved a little, leaving his beard a little shorter than usual. There were tiny wrinkles around his eyes as he looked at you, a small smile on his lips, his brown eyes soft and… happy.
It was a completely different version from the Joel you met three years ago when he and Ellie first got here.
It took a lot of time and patience to get to know this version of Joel, the version he only showed to the people he loved.
You got on your tiptoes, kissing him softly on his plush lips.
„Come on, we gonna be late,“ you whispered and he pecked your lips again, sighing as he parted from you and picked up both of your already packed backpacks, leaving you to carry the cups and sandwiches you had prepared for the journey.
With your rifle over your shoulder, your backpack and a bag with some food strapped to your horse, Ellie let you borrow Shimmer, you were riding next to Joel behind Eugene and Katy who were currently playing a game of car (yeah, hilarious, they already saw one in the last three hours).
You had another hour to go and you were already looking forward to taking a nap first thing you got there. You had volunteered to take the first watch during the night, giving you perks of not having to set up camp and clearing the area of infected.
„You okay?" Joel asked and you turned your head to look at him, giving him a small smile.
„I’m fine,“ you said as he looked at you and he sighed, not believing a word.
„Want me to give you a massage later?“ He asked, riding a little closer so only you could hear him.
„I don’t know, if I can afford a spa treatment. Money is a little low,“ you teased him and he sucked his bottom lip in, shaking his head, fighting a smile.
„We’ll find a way for you to pay, don’t you worry,“ he hummed and you couldn’t help but smile at him for a moment longer before your eyes drifted away from him to watch your surroundings.
It was almost dark when you got to the radio tower in Cody. The four of you made quick work of checking the building, before you spend some time talking and eating together. You took a thirty minute nap, Joel waking you up so you could start first watch.
You were looking forward to stretching your muscles while on the watch of threats, stretching your body after riding all day. Not that something had ever happened here before when you were out on this trip.
It was getting colder, winter fast approaching.
Joel had given you his winter jacket to keep warm before he laid down into this sleeping bag, reminding you to wake him up in four hours so he could take over second watch.
You still couldn’t get used to how dark the night made the world around you ever since the outbreak. There was no twinkling light of a city in the far distance, no noise of a far away high way.
You were on the roof of the tower, the whole landscape surrounding you.
It was dark and quiet. The only light source the half moon, the only noise an owl somewhere in the woods beside the house.
You saw some deer while watching out through the scope of your rifle but you decided against taking one down.
You did not have the right tools to put it apart and take back to Jackson so you watched them while they were running around.
A noise behind you let you jump, your rifle still in your hand. Turning around you watched Joel as he walked up to you, completely dressed apart form his coat you were wearing, watching you with a little amused smile.
„Could have shot you,“ you sighed, taking a deep breath to calm down your rapidly beating heart.
„What a way to go,“ he joked and you rolled your eyes. You turned away from him, your eyes back on the landscape in front of you.
„What are you doing up?“ You asked.
„Couldn’t sleep,“ he hummed and you felt him getting closer until his arms came to rest on the railing in front of you, his body caging you in. You felt his warmth even through the layers you were already wearing, wondering if he was getting cold, only wearing his undershirt and Flannel.
„You should try anyway. It’s gonna be a long day tomorrow,“ you said and he hummed.
You stood there in silence for a while before you felt his lips on your jaw. One of his hands left the railing, pulling a little on the coat you were wearing until he could access more of your neck, his lips wandering down.
„What are you doing?“ You asked quietly, your head tilting to give him more access.
„Nothin’…“ he hummed, sucking on your skin. His hand slowly unzipped your coat, grunting when he found another coat beneath it.
„How many goddamn layers are you wearing?“ He asked irritated and you grinned to yourself.
„Enough to stay warm all night,“ you said and he made a disapproving noise, pulling the zipper of your second coat down. His beard scratched over your skin when he finally found a sliver of your skin with his fingers, his lips humming against your neck.
„Joel…“ you warned, the rifle still in your hands, propped over the railing, ready to be used immediately in the case of an emergency.
„Just keep watch baby. Don’t mind me,“ he said, his fingers now running down your stomach, his fingertips slipping under the waistband of your jeans all while his lips kept kissing your neck.
You took a deep breath before you relaxed your shoulders. You felt him smile against your skin, before his other hand let go of the railing and he opened the button of your jeans.
„I want you to focus on keeping watch, baby. Can you do that for me?“ He asked, his lips against your ear while his fingers pulled at the waistband of your jeans. Your breath hitched, you head nodding.
„I need words,“ he said and you whimpered.
„I do. I can, Joel,“ you mumbled.
„Good girl,“ he whispered and your knees buckled at his low praise.
The rifle was by now slumped in front of you, only held up by the string over your shoulder. Joel slipped your jeans and panties down to your knees before his warmth left your back.
„I want you to keep your hands on the railing. You gonna want to hold on to something,“ he said and your hand shot out, gripping the railing, fighting a whimper.
You had no idea what got into him, but you weren’t about to question him.
His fingers brushed up the back of your thighs, making you sigh.
“Gotta be quiet. Sound travels from up here. Don’t want Eugene knowing what we’re up to here, huh?“ he said before you felt his tongue lick through your folds from behind, front to back.
„Fuck,“ you gasped, letting your hand fall in between your shoulders, your eyes slipping closed.
„Nuh uh. Keep that eyes on you surroundings. Want you to keep watch while I eat this pussy,“ he said and you bit into your bottom lip before you tilted your head up, your eyes focused on the dark landscape in front of you.
Joel licked you slowly, humming against you, both of his hands pulling your asscheeks apart, exposing you fully to him. You moaned quietly as he ate you out, his tongue slipping inside of you, fucking you with it slowly.
„Shit,“ you whined, wiggling in his grasp. He slapped your ass.
„Stay still. Tell me what you see,“ he hummed, you felt his breath on your ass.
„Wha..at?“ You asked.
„Tell me,“ he licked, „what you see. Got a job to do. Don’t let me stop you from it,“ you could hear the grin in his voice, before he slapped your ass again. Harder this time.
„Fuck. Fuck okay,“ you said. You blinked your eyes a couple of times, your gaze wandering around as you felt Joel’s tongue flick over your clit.
„There’s… There’s a family of deer not far from here,“ you started. He hummed, his lips closing around your clit, sucking slowly.
„It’s two big deer and five smaller ones. They… Fuck the younger ones are jumping around,“ you whimpered, your knuckles starting to hurt form how hard you were gripping the railing.
„What else?“ Joel asked and you groaned. You took a deep breath, trying to find something else.
„Ho-ORSES, fuck right there,“ you moaned and you felt him chuckle as he focused his tongue on your clit while two of his fingers entered you without any resistance, angling them inside of you, his fingertips brushing over the spot only he seemed to be able to find immediately.
„Joel please,“ you mumbled out of breath.
He played your body like he played his guitar, with strong hands an nimble fingers, pushing you closer and closer to your orgasm, your insides clenching. You could feel it deep in your bones, your muscles tensing. And just before you could fall over the edge Joel stopped. His fingers pulling out.
You whined in disappointment and Joel bit into your left ass cheek.
It’s then that you both heard it. The unmistakable noise of infected.
You tensed, your hands gripping the riffle, pulling yourself in position.
Joel held on to your hip as he got back up, the weight of him behind you keeping you focused.
„How far away?“
„Far,“ you whispered, your finger now hovering over the trigger. With one eye closed you kept an eye on them through the scope. It were six or seven, you could not say for sure due to the darkness.
„Think you can take them out from here?“ Joel asked and you heard him unbuckle his belt, fighting the urge to turn around to watch what he was doing.
„What are you doing?“ You asked, your eyes still fixed on the slowly approaching danger.
„Nothin’. Shoot them baby. I know you can. Best fucking shot we have in Jackson,“ he hummed. You were now leaning over the railing, the gun sitting over it, pointed towards your target. You steadied yourself, fading out everything around you, your eyes finding your first target.
It looked like it had been a young man before it got infected. You breathed in, pulling the trigger as you breathed out, a shot ringing out and that was when Joel chose to thrust into you hard, making you stumbled minimally forward, gasping out. Joel’s arm came around you, reloading the gun for you, his cock deep inside of you.
„Next,“ he hummed against your ear. You clenched around his cock, making him choke out as you took back control of the gun.
„A little warning would have been great,“ you turned your head to look at him. He just kissed you once.
„Where would be the fun in that? Go on, lemme check how good of a shot you are while you’re fucked,“ he said and you couldn’t stop a low moan from your throat as he rolled his hips.
„Someone woke up horny,“ you mumbled to yourself and you heard him chuckle. You leaned back forward, your eye searching for your next target through the scope. When you found it, you didn’t think, you just pulled the trigger, watching it fall down, while Joel bottomed out and thrust back into you hard.
„So fucking wet,“ Joel groaned, slowly fucking into you.
You reloaded the gun, lining up the next shot, trying to steady yourself as you took the shot, Joel thrusting into you hard again.
„Fuck,“ you whimpered.
„Gonna make you cum so hard once you took them all out,“ Joel promised and you gasped as you reloaded the gun again.
Every time you pulled the trigger he thrusted into you so hard you had to push back against him to not stumble forward.
It was after eight shots more (you only missed one) that you secured the weapon and put it down.
„My good girl,“ Joel praised you, his arm pulling you up against him. You wiggled yourself out of his coat, wanting to feel him closer. One of his arm wrapped around you, his hand gripping one of your tits over your shirt.
„Please make me cum. I’m so fucking close,“ you whimpered, bringing your hands up to hold on to his arm wrapped around your chest. He fucked up into you deeply, his other hand coming down in between your legs, finding your clit. He circled his fingers over it while he continued to fuck you.
„I’m… Fuck I’m gonna cum,“ you moaned, meeting his thrusts as best as you could.
„Shit, keep squeezing my cock like that,“ he grunted against you ear.
It was within the next few second that you exploded around him, your lips parted in a silent scream, shaking around him.
„Fuck baby. Can I cum inside you?“ He asked and you nodded.
„Last period ended three days ago. Should be fine,“ you whimpered.
„Fuck, you sure?“
„Joel please come inside of me,“ you whined and he groaned, thrusting a handful more times before you felt him twitch inside of you, fucking his cum inside of you.
His head came to rest on the back of yours, you both out of breath.
„What was that all about? Not that I’m complaining,“ you asked and he huffed a laugh.
„Woke up horny for you,“ he said and you both chuckled. He slowly pulled out of you and you hissed a little.
He pulled up your jeans for you after he tucked himself back in and you turned around in his arms. He had pulled his coat on and you put your arms under it, hugging him close.
„You took them all out?“ He asked, looking down at you.
„Sure did.“
„That’s my girl,“ he smiled and kissed you.

The Last of Us 2, Episodio 1: benvenuti a Jackson

First look alla stagione 2
The Last of Us 2: coloro che sono rimasti, nell'avamposto

Sequenza a cavallo

Pedro Pascal è Joel nella prima immagine di The Last of Us 2
Eppure…
Conclusioni

Cabinet Endorsements
One thing that's flown a bit below the radar in this election is that former cabinet members haven't been acting like they usually do. Normally, former cabinet members will automatically endorse their former boss for re-election, but Trump's have not been doing that.
This is of particular interest because, while we, the voters, get to see the President give speeches and the like, we don't actually work with him. Presumably a cabinet member is someone who agrees with the president and who the president trusts and who gets to work closely with the president, so their opinion of the president is an important benchmark.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the 44 former cabinet members of the Donald J. Trump administration and the 2 former cabinet members of the Joseph R. Biden administration. I'll put an (E) next to the ones that have endorsed their former boss, an (H) next to the ones who haven't yet, and an (R) next to the ones who have outright refused to do so.
Cabinet Members of the Donald J. Trump Administration (R) VP Mike Pence (H) Sec. State Rex Tillerson (H) Sec. State/CIA Director Mike Pompeo (E) Sec. Treasury Steven Mnuchin (R) Sec. Defense James Mattis (H) Sec. Defense Patrick Shanahan (nominated) (R) Sec. Defense Mark Esper (H) Sec. Defense Christopher Miller (acting) (H) AG Jeff Sessions (R) AG William Barr (H) AG Jeffrey Rosen (acting) (E) Sec. Interior Ryan Zinke (H) Sec. Interior David Bernhardt (H) Sec. Agriculture Sonny Perdue (E) Sec. Commerce Wilbur Ross (H) Sec. Labor Andrew Puzder (nominated) (H) Sec. Labor Alex Acosta (H) Sec. Labor Eugene Scalia (H) Sec. HHS Tom Price (H) Sec. HHS Alex Azar (H) Sec. HHS Pete Gaynor (E) Sec. HUD Ben Carson (H) Sec. Transporation Elaine Chao (H) Sec. Transportation Steven Bradbury (acting) (H) Sec. Energy Rick Perry (H) Sec. Energy Dan Brouillette (H) Sec. Education Besty DeVos (H) Sec. Education Mick Zais (acting) (H) Sec. VA David Shulkin (E) Sec. VA Ronny Jackson (nominated) (H) Sec. VA Robert Wilkie (R) Sec. HS John Kelly (H) Sec. HS Kirstjen Nielsen (H) Sec. HS Chad Wolf (nominated) (E) US Trade Rep. Robert Lighthizer (H) DNI Dan Coats (H) DNI John Ratcliffe (H) UN Ambassador Nikki Haley (H) OMB Directory Mick Mulvaney (E) OMB Director Russel Vought (H) CIA Director Gina Haspel (H) EPA Admin. Scott Pruitt (H) EPA Admin. Andrew Wheeler (H) SBA Admin. Linda McMahon (H) SBA Admin. Jovita Caranza
Cabinet Members of the Joseph R. Biden Administration (E) Sec. Labor Marty Walsh (E) OMB Director Neera Tanden (nominated) (H) Office of Science and Tech. Director Eric Lander
The first thing we notice, obviously, is that there are a whole lot more former Trump cabinet members. This is partially because Biden is still in office so his 23 current cabinet members are not counted (it'd be a huge surprise if they didn't endorse him and they probably wouldn't still be working for him if they didn't), but it's also because Trump had way above average turnover for cabinet officials, 19 in the first four years not including the 5 who resigned due to his handling of the 2020 election results (not included because Biden hasn't reached that point in his first term yet), while Biden has had far below average turnover, only 3 so far.
So a lot more people shuffling in and out of the Trump administration, but we also notice a ton more H's than E's there. Heck, there's almost as many R's among Trump's people as there are E's (5 to 7). Meanwhile, Biden's shooting 2 for 3 and the third one hasn't (at least not that I could find) ruled out endorsing him.
Keep in mind, endorsing the nominee of your party is pretty much the bare minimum that any party operative needs to do. Imagine if you applied for a job somewhere, the first question was "do you think this company should be in business", and you answered "no". You probably wouldn't be getting a job there. In other words, refusing to endorse has some big consequences for the people doing it, not just costing them a job in the potential next Republican presidency, but locking them out of the party entirely, and yet a good deal of the people who worked for Trump disliked working with him so much that they're doing it anyways.
As I said, this tends to fly below the radar because it's kind of a formulaic ritual; of course members of the President's party who are closely tied to him are going to endorse him for re-election! That's why you should pay attention now that most of the people who've worked with Trump aren't doing so. It says something, something big.

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born military pilots who fought in WWII. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the Army Air Forces. The name applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks, and other support personnel.
All African American military pilots who trained in the US trained at Moton Field, the Tuskegee Army Air Field, and were educated at Tuskegee University. The group included five Haitians from the Haitian Air Force and one pilot from Trinidad. It included a Hispanic or Latino airman born in the Dominican Republic.

AGT Season 18: Final Thoughts
Season 18 ended up not being TOO bad...But it could have been better...
For starters, the format they started in the previous season was an interesting experiment, but it's time they retired it and went back to having three live show rounds with a few more than just two acts advancing between them...(And if they want to shake things up PROPERLY, maybe limit the votes more so that people can't just dump ten votes on each of their favorites...)
Also, maybe next year they should look for a star player again...I know it makes the results a little more predictable, but things kinda devolve into chaos without one...
Or, and hear me out...Maybe it's time they look for a comedian who could actually amass the right amount of support to win, NOT rely on handicaps, and NOT have other acts that they stand no chance against...But above all, look for someone who has qualities we haven't seen before on this show! Maybe a redneck from Texas or one of the Heartland states to sucker in extra votes, as long as he/she is legitimately funny!
And some people online have raised a good point (and I think Howie even jokingly acknowledged that point when he hit Heidi's buzzer at Trailer Flowers); They don't need those red buzzers in the live shows anymore! They make sense in the auditions, because there are a lot of ridiculous and pointless acts there, but in the live shows, it's acts they already said yes to and have overall liked thus far! They're used, like, once or twice a live episode, and the judges practically NEVER all hit theirs to stop an act...The only point of it now is for Simon to give a sudden 180 on the sillier or less marketable acts that he liked in the auditions, or for Howie to double down on what he already said before and get booed for it! (Oh yeah, and for Simon to buzz Howie whenever he has an unpopular opinion...) It's just disrespectful to all the acts that made it that far (even the joke acts)!
Just a few ideas for next year...And that's honestly all I have regarding the overall season THIS year...
But I'll go ahead and rank the Top 55 of this season anyway...
55: Phil Wright & Parent Jam
54: Lambros Garcia
53: Erica Coffelt
52: Barry Brewer Jr.
51: Maureen Langan
50: Trailer Flowers

25: Orlando Leyba
24: Andrew Stanton
23: Shadow Ace
22: Philip Bowen

5: Putri Ariani
4: Adrian Stoica and Hurricane
3: Ramadhani Brothers
2: Avantgardey
1: Murmuration
I'm also gonna start ranking all of the (main season) winners to date at the end of each season...
18: Kevin Skinner
17: Dustin Tavella
16: Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.
15: Brandon Leake
14: Neal E. Boyd
13: Bianca Ryan
12: Olate Dogs

8: Mat Franco
7: Grace VanderWaal
6: Darci Lynne
5: Paul Zerdin
4: Kenichi Ebina
3: Shin Lim
2: Terry Fator
1: Mayyas
...And this list is always subject to be rearranged, but based on my memories of each of these acts, this sounds about right...
So I guess it's time to move on to the upcoming "Fantasy League" season...As mentioned before, Mel B. will be returning as a judge...(Yay...More obnoxious bickering with the other judges...) Thankfully, Sophia will be back for the next PROPER season...Otherwise, it's the same line-up we've been seeing for a while...
As for the acts being brought back, about half of them have already done previous spinoff seasons...But I guess it is mostly old favorites that deserve to be back anyway...I can also see that they brought back all of the finalists from THIS season, along with a few others that DIDN'T make it that far...
(Correction: They were only nominated. Only three finalists from this season ended up in “Fantasy League”.)
I don't exactly know the rules of this season and how it's different from Champions/All-Stars...But I guess I'll figure it out when we GET to the season...
As for me...Well, I'll admit, writing up all of these blogs is starting to get monotonous...Not that I want to stop it JUST yet...But as soon as I get the chance to upgrade to VIDEO blogs, I think I'll take it...It's just feeling a little less exciting these days to write these things...
But I'll figure things out in time...Until then, I'll see you all in...January?
Anyway, take care!

Howard Eugene McCullough Sr., 94, died peacefully at Baptist Village, on February 8, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and pastor. His last days were spent surrounded by his family before he was united with his Lord and Savior.
Brother Gene was born September 7, 1929, in Jacksonville, Florida, where he grew up. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1948. He attended Bob Jones University in Greeneville, SC, and graduated in 1955. He married Mary Jean McCullough on June 27, 1957, and shortly after their wedding, began attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, TX, where he graduated in 1960. His ministry began at Beatty Baptist Church in Pauls Valley, OK, and continued at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, FL for seven years. In September of 1967, he and his family moved to Folkston, where he served at First Baptist Church for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
His life’s mission was to serve others and reach the lost through preaching the gospel. His spirit of humility, his heart of compassion, and his words of wisdom allowed him to witness to his church and community. His servant’s heart was evident through his support of domestic and foreign missions. He incorporated his passion for woodworking as a vacation bible school activity to minister to the youth and lead them to Christ. Another way he impacted the youth of Charlton County was through annual trips to church camp at Lake Yale.
He enjoyed simple pleasures like gardening, making things for others such as mayhaw jelly or chocolate fudge, sharing life experiences/stories, and fellowshipping with those close to him. Although he touched so many lives, his purpose was always to do all things for the glory of God.
Brother Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Jean McCullough; his father, Thomas Henry McCullough; his mother, Selma Whitten McCullough; his brothers: T.H., Jim, and Jack McCullough; and his sister, Marion McCullough Shannon.
He is survived by his children: Howard Eugene McCullough Jr. and his wife Cindy of Folkston, John Alan McCullough and his late wife Dawn of Woodbine, and Joy McCullough Boyce of Charlotte, NC; his seven grandchildren: Adam and Matthew McCullough, Dylan Brown and his wife Katie of Jesup, Caleigh Depew and her husband Lance of Folkston, Caroline, Ella, and Olivia Boyce; his four great-grandchildren: Jackson, Ezekiel, Gabriel, and Jude McCullough, and Lainey Brown; several of his nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, Folkston, on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The funeral was held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Folkston with Rev. Randy Jacoby and Rev. Mark McCullough officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to Shepard Roberson Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The McCullough Mission Fund at First Baptist Church of Folkston.

Jewell Jackson McCabe (August 2, 1945) is a feminist, business executive, and social and political activist. She was a leader of and spokesperson for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women’s movement in the early 1970s in New York City and throughout the US, as the founder of the organization which grew out of her New York City stewardship. She became the first woman in 84 years to be in serious contention for the presidency of the civil rights organization NAACP. NYTimes Opinion Page “Riders on the Storm” Published: October 15, 1995, NYTimes.com excerpt from NYTimes OpEd “The coalition of Black feminists led by Angela Davis and Jewell Jackson McCabe emphasized one of the many dangers inherent in this Million Man March.
