Sorry I saw one more post so unfortunately I have to get up on my Catholic Soapbox

When Our Lord (and Lady, but she isn't talked about much in this context) is depicted in European Sacred Art, as a European man, it is not the same as "whitewashing" Him. The difference is that Jesus happens to be God- He is all things for all men. He is for every culture, every time and place and ethnicity. Biologically, is He of Middle-Eastern descent? Yes. Does He have Middle-Eastern genetics? Yes. But He did not come to save just Middle-Eastern people, He came to save everyone: Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Pacific Islanders- everyone.

And there have been numerous occasions of Apparitions of Our Lord where He appeared as a white man (Sacred Heart, Divine Mercy, Knock, Fatima, et cetera) so I actually do not think He cares- He wants to appear to His beloved in a way accessible to them, because, again, as God He is not confined to one specific culture or ethnicity because He came to save everyone.

(and- additionally- these same people never seem to care when He is depicted as any ethnicity other than middle-eastern or white. if you're going to be picky about this at least be consistent.)

Zero waste pet ownership is a great thing to aspire to. Stick to safe, all natural toys made with renewable and compostable materials. If and only if your vet says that it's safe you can make food from scratch, or find some pet food bulk bins. If your cat is agreeable, use pine pellets for litter. Et cetera.

But it's 100% ok if that's not something you can do. My dog's favorite toy is made of polyester, and my cats only eat food that comes in non recyclable bags. And that's totally fine, because you have to recognize one thing: these animals' lives are our responsibility. Sacrificing their health, safety, or happiness for a tiny amount of difference in carbon use is not ok.

Understand that your priorities must be well aligned. This extends beyond pet care, and to all different kinds of consideration towards animals. It's fine to be vegan, but remember that all "vegan leather/wool" is plastic, and its production and degradation are terrible for the environment and the animals in it. It's great to focus on a plant based diet, but you must remember that the purchase of out of season fruits and vegetables create more waste and carbon emissions than simply buying local. There's nuance to all this, and you must have patience for both yourself and others.

Love your pets, and breathe easy. There's plenty of other aspects of living where you can prioritize a low impact lifestyle, without forsaking our beloved furballs.

"There we go," you say with a smile, "We're having fun tonight, my love. No sadness allowed. Okay pick one for me next."

Copia takes a moment, scrolling the screen with his finger.

"Eh, how about 'This 2000s Music Tournament Will Determine Which Single Song Reigns Supreme'?"

"Oh fuck yes," you say, rubbing your hands together, "Let's fucking go."

"First match up: 'Umbrella' by Rihanna or 'Single Ladies' by Beyonce?"

"Ah shit," you spit, throwing yourself back into the cushions, "How am I supposed to answer that? That's the first question?"

"Uh-huh."

You pull a face.

"What would you pick?"

Copia doesn't look at you but raises his hand and flips it around in a familiar dance move.

"My love, I did not peg you for a Beyonce fan, what a lovely surprise. I learn something new about you every day. You're right, it's gotta be Bey."

"Okie dokie. Next is...'Right Round' by Flo Rida and--"

"From the top of the pole I watch her go down!" you holler, setting your laptop to the side to stand up and straddle Copia's knee, "She got me throwin' my money around! Ain't nothin' more beautiful to be found - it's going down, down!"

You're doing a very poor excuse for a lap dance while tossing your hair around like a video vixen. Copia cackles raucously below you, abandoning his iPad to grab you by the hips and yank you down into his lap. You're out of breath, grinning at him stupidly.

"She's a Flo Rida fan, huh?"

"Listen the man had some bangers. And Kesha being in the song too? Can't beat that." you state, wrapping your arms around his neck, "What was the other option, anyway?"

"Eh," he leans over to look at his screen, "Another Flo Rida song? 'Low'."

"Oh fuck this game," you say, attempting to push yourself off his lap, "As if I'm supposed to choose between 'Right Round' and shorty had them apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur, et cetera et cetera. Let's do a new quiz."

You're finally able to get up and flop back down on the couch, pulling your computer back in your lap.

"Alright let's see, let's see, how about...'Eat Nothing But McDonald's to Reveal Which Berry You Are'."

"Amore," Copia says, rubbing his face, "Who makes these things?"

"Are you saying you don't want to know which berry you are, my love?"

There's a pause.

"Actually, I am kinda curious."

A few minutes later, you give him his result.

"A cranberry? The eh, fucking urinary tract berry?" he throws up his hands and stands, "I can't do this anymore and now all I want is McDonald's."

"Don't let Secondo hear you say that," you taunt, shutting your laptop, "Come here my beloved cranberry."

You open your arms and he eagerly falls into them, half crushing you.

"Oof! Shall we put on something stupid to watch? Or..."

He looks up at you from where his chin rests on your belly.

"Or what?"

"Or I can put on Flo Rida and you can show me your dancing skills?"

He smiles wickedly.

"You're not ready for this, amore mio," he growls, crawling up your body, "Get comfortable. I'll put on a real show for you."

Hours later, when the two of you end up on the floor of your apartment, naked, panting, and covered in hickeys, you smile and look over at your love.

"I think you missed your calling, Copia."

He grins.

"Now where's my tip?"

You laugh and sigh in the same breath. This is going to be a long night.

Mandalorians!

Their culture is an integral part to the clones, especially the older generation clones like Cody and Rex, I'd like to know more about how they fit into this universe and how they contribute to it.

Everything from their songs (which they ahve a lot of) to their weapons (again, they have quite a bit of this). How does beskar fit into all this? What of the Kryze sisters and Korkie? And Death Watch? Jango and Boba Fett? The Cuy'val Dar and how they trained the troopers?

Oh! And what about our beloved Kamas?

:DDDDDD YESSS SO MANY QUESTIONS LET ME ANSWER THEM ALL

Okay! So. Part one. Mandos. Let's go. I'm gonna zero in on a few specific things about Mandalorian culture here, because across the AU I tend not to change a lot of established, canon lore in terms of detraction. I (usually) operate on a policy of "keep everything that's canon, adapt certain things to fit a fantasy aesthetic rather than a science fiction one, and add whatever I think is cool". For an example of what I mean by this, I'd advise you to go check out my post about Togrutas in the AU.

With this being said, that means that the established Mandalorian culture is pretty much the same as in canon. Therefore, I am choosing to highlight the additions I have made and several adaptations to existing cultural items and practices.

One more thing to keep in mind: as made abundantly clear by this point, in HFSW the Mandalorians are based upon Ancient Rome. I cannot promise complete historical accuracy, in fact I will go so far as to not promise any historical accuracy, but as a Latin student, history buff, and the co-consul of my school's Latin Club, it was too perfect an opportunity for me to resist.

Art Forms: Other than their beskar, the Mandalorians are famed for one other art form: their gorgeous stained glass. (This was actually one of the very first things I knew I wanted to add to the AU.) Ever since the island was cursed so many years ago in the Jedi-Mandalorian Crusades and turned mostly to a barren wasteland of sand, the people of Mandalore and its surrounding island territories put their hallmark resilience to the front again: they melted it down and made something of it. Combine that with traditional Mandalorian Color Symbolism, and the glass became almost as important as the beskar'gam itself. By the time of the Clone Wars, it can be found in use for practical purposes (glassware such as cups and vases, as well as the domes of Mandalore Proper's famed domed cities), art (windows and even blown-glass sculptures), and jewelry (some of the more crafty have even found ways to work it into their armor), to name a few examples. In addition, and especially under Satine's rule, other forms of the arts flourish on Mandalore Proper and its island territories, such as frescoes, mosaics, architecture, and theatre.

Gear and Weaponry, specifically Jet Packs: The beskar'gam is still the most important aspect of Mandalorian culture, although- unfortunately- I haven't actually had the time to design what it would look like for the AU yet. (I'm working on it.) It's still made of beskar, beskar is still only found on Mandalorian islands, armorers are still the ones in charge of its creation and maintenance, et cetera. Mandalorians fight with almost all weaponry found under the sun, although the vast majority of them favor spears and javelins, or knives (mostly daggers, although throwing knives are not unheard of). The Darksaber has a serrated blade, and due to its being forged of beskar, when ignited by a force-sensitive it crackles with lightning rather than fire. Jet packs (haven't thought of an appropriately fantasy name for them yet) are a creation of the Mandalorians, and are- essentially- fully-jointed, mechanical wings mounted on a harness. It's very cool. I shall have art of it for you soon, when I actually get around to designing beskar'gam. (As for your question about kamas: I'm gonna answer that when I get around to the more Clone-centric asks. I didn't forget, I'm just saving it for later)

Songs: Mandalorian songs are of wide and varied style and genre, from ballads to elegies to rousing tavern-songs, and every kind in-between. They are written in Basic, Mando'a, or Old Mando'a (though these are usually more traditional, ancient songs; with very few exceptions, more modern songs are not composed in Old Mando'a). I will talk more about songs, though, when I get to your more Clone-centric questions, because song is a hugely important part of Clone Culture in this AU and I want to do most of the heavy lifting there.

i feel like this is an obvious question based on what you've said abt tsp,exe in previous moments, but is it malware of some sort?

what im asking is: if you were to download the stanley parable.exe onto your computer, would the game (or ig thierry) do typical creepypasta virus game things like encrypting your files, getting a hold of your personal info, putting pop-ups on your screen that either multiply or dont close whenever you try to close them, manually crash/turn off/restart your computer, or other adjacent things?

as a matter of fact, it does ~

are the ".exe" genre of games considered malware ??? i mean, i know of ones that could be but... curious;

now, i of course welcome my beloved @tomiechu's input as well here if they have anything to add, but the way i see it;

your personal information & files are safe! most of the odd happenings occur within the game & tucked in its own files; the worst you may have to worry about is your storage space getting filled brimming, or the occasional bug or buggy pop up. it's one of those things you have to consciously go & find in your computer more than it is in your face, methink.

what is it that's taking up that storage space? well, the game's a bit heftier & bloated than the original game would be, & while its files are getting moved around, altered, & deleted all the time ( due to thierry actively updating the thing ), you're likely to find a couple of his digital footprints, a few notes & to do lists, stuff like that. among other things... a couple audio clips dated back to the skip button period, a thorough, drawn chart of rosemary's anatomy, a few notes meant to be scattered in the office that have nothing to do with the in-game lore... et cetera.

in-game, the gameplay is relatively normal - as much you'd probably expect from the base game, but wow... there's a LOT of endings to this thing, isn't there? & the game is liable to freeze & pause in certain rooms & areas, textures of red may seem to flicker in in random spots & may stay there, depending. there IS an occasional jumpscare in the form of some horrific bug - perhaps like the sound of grinding or the visage of a character without a face, but nothing the game should have pre-programmed; nothing with a record it should have ever been. fans of the game ( in this world ) are truly puzzled.

there were once reports of players being able to find traces of old viscera on the compactor plates, or outright walking in on something they shouldn't have. theories have sprung up that The Stanley Parable is actually meant to be more of a horror game beyond mere psychological play, but not everyone can agree on this. any of these reports sent back to the developer OR his accounts are met with radio silence or being told they're just screwing around.

things like that, you know! relatively " tame, " but not things that should be or happen. thierry can't make heads or tails of it either.

DISCLAIMER that I should have put in since the beginning: this series of posts is me documenting my second (but first in the Director's Cut) consecutive Death Stranding playthrough in an unserious way. I try to keep the actual story spoilers on the light side, but the point of these posts is also to allow myself to think out loud about things I didn't catch the first time around, seeing foreshadowing in light of the payoff et cetera, so it's not entirely spoiler free. 

Guess who's back on the road after spending four days with a migraine that locked me out of any screen based entertainment and allocating some of my precious free time to a portrait of New Higgs... One of my biggest "hear me out"s maybe... Gut window sexy..... Kojima retweeted....

It's insane how much I memory holed this part of the map (the swamp with Homo demens), which according to my calculations I probably played between Christmas and New Years? I wonder if changing the difficulty setting has anything to do with it.

Anyway we're off to what is unironically my favorite part of the map: the snowy mountains! Carrying a bomb that is very fragile on my back! 

I think ultimately DS is a pretty forgiving game, it's not easy to "die" (think of how avoiding combat by being stealthy or taking a detour is often an option) and even if its physics are more realistic than other games, Sam's bones are pretty much made of steel. Creating a voidout is bad but you can still go forward in the game. However I fell over like an idiot at the beginning of this mission and the catastrophe you set off if you don't carry that bomb like a precious and fragile crystal egg is of such magnitude that, after the scene freezes and crumples and whites out, you just get a load screen that puts a hand on your shoulder saying "now we're going back to the latest save" like a slightly disappointed but still encouraging father figure.

Anyway. I hate the "Death Stranding is a walking simulator lol" meme with a passion, but it *is* true that it recreates the experience of hiking in a very satisfying and realistic way... This is literally me huffing and puffing in the Dolomites this past October, like, this visual gave me a real life flashback.

Unsure whether we were supposed to see this grass coming out of the snow at this altitude or if it's a glitch (some people on reddit have found trees spawning in unexpected areas and nobody knows whether it's by design or not).

an immeasurable matters occur to me at this time. i have no wish to share them, especially in real life, should they end up falling into wrong hands. i do not covet that even close ones or strangers to know my most vulnerable and personal aspects, so i refrain from speaking on them - as it has become clear people are inadequate of being respectful even in the most trivial of my troubled expressions. i should not have to witness my sorrows exploited as an aesthetic or used as fuel for sympathy. only the lightest of mentions will suffice to get my vents and ruminations across. on another hand whatever occurs online i will address much more quickly, et cetera.

the vicissitudes. it is no joy to me to switch and force myself to change in order to avoid issues. it does not matter if it is a question or not - i do not like to admit it, but i have changed purposefully before. i am damned aware i do not need to change due to x situation and yet i do it because i do not like trouble and would much rather destroy myself to keep some form of consistency in my life.

this is a lesson i need to learn and get better at. and so, i will be reclaiming many things that i felt i was requisite to other's peace. it is my turn now - a little at least. other things i will change, whether it comes from a place of wistful gentleness still, or out of habit i do not know. but i am old and i am at this point where i have no time to feel worse online when it used to be my comfort / escape. i should not have to deal with this, it is not my issue or responsibility to cater or have to repeat myself because people are incapable of etiquette or artistic integrity. i do not want anyone to assume either, i will either deal with it, or it simply is not worth the attention. do not speak for me, do not presume.

it is debatable still if i will once again adjust the formats. a ludicrous and frustrating minor concern that is not enough for me to incessantly deal with yet - for some reason, have to deal with. regardless it will remain in my thoughts. it is astronomical how persistent my misfortunes bring me the most tiring occurrences. i do not think i can change sága anymore. i am at my worst, feeling upset and tired just from the recent happenings that i do not want to deal with. the forlorn part is destroying everything that is not up to date, including myself. and i have a habit of isolating when i break, be it close ones or others. i just need silence, stillness, nothingness.

out of a more ad renovatur introspection i have formally adjusted my brand name to match my current presence. polaris / the north star / remains so profound - too cordial for me to be able to continue using it publicly as i have. it is too intimate, too personal and beloved for me to uphold in a way that i can feel safe and comforted by and will remain in the softest of memories present only in whispers. its meaning will remain to those who know, and remembered by the ones who looked. hence the update, and tags will be updated with it.

as for sága, i have done as much as i could. i have purposefully specified a few things in regards to their design, which i hope is taken into consideration to anyone, be it consumers or artists. · i. their horns should be longer, straight, and quite close in proximity. · ii. their orbit should be cosmically large, straight, and thin, with subtle shooting stars and bleeding like aspects. · iii. they have slightly longer bangs to preceptors right / their left. · iv. the forget me nots have become more prominent to accentuate their importance. · v. some form of description for them ; melancholic stelliferous ontic primordial void interwoven in stardust dreams and memories. a contemplative thought describing the specifics of them will come, but they are omnipotent in the sense that they are the end of all things - death incarnate. for even gods and other existences cannot escape ' nothingness ' - true eternity. · vi. revisiting several more starry / bleeding aspects. from stylistic choices of stars for any shines, in eyes, constellations on arms, bleeding orbit.

there was a sorrowful aspect that never really made itself clear until recently - that i never felt like i was worthy enough to honour my birthplace. the updates are subtle, almost missed, but they are there. and that is consolation to me.

i intend to update their toyhou.se descriptions somewhat, in order to properly message some form of cohesiveness in their existence. i will also appraise the future handling of my brand. this is also my attempt to avoid my complete withdrawal from media and its intent of obliterating all. but although i always feel like i shatter and need to pick up my pieces, these changes do not come from only heartache. if i have to, if i must, then i will destroy myself to do it better. this time is hopefully the last.

middle shelf, this one is half midari ikishima shrine and half assorted manga and figures. plus the kyoka jiro plush that wouldnt fit on the top shelf

bottom shelf! the manga is double layered on the sides for space conservation, the ones in the back are et cetera 1-9, chronicles of the cursed sword 1, psychic academy 1-2, .hack legend of the twilight 1-3 and .hack another birth 1-3. those and the buso renkin books were all given to me by a friend

this is one of my favorite figures, himiko toga by banpresto. it was surprisingly cheap for how good it is, i think it was like $38? the kyoka jiro sticker is something my friend got for me when he visited japan, and it still has the original price tag on it which i think is cool. in this pic you can also see the shoyo hinata funko pop (held up by sticky tack lmao) and the kurogiri + twice funkos. these (and my many other tiny funkos) are actually keychains but i removed most of the keychain part and i display them as figures instead

jiro section!! i really want to get her other funko variations, the school festival version of her with her guitar and the gamestop exclusive ofher with her microphone. and i REALLY want a scale of her, the newest one that's on preorder right now is so fucking cute but i'm too broke for it rn :( someday she'll be mine, but for now i just have a counterfeit wcf lmao

the one piece section! i accidentally cut off the nico robin wano figure in this one oops :( i have the two ace's story light novels, the heroines ln (in japanese), the first manga volume in japanese, and the first fullmetal alchemist volume in japanese (doesn't fit the theme here, i know, but it didnt fit on the other shelves). here, i also have a vinsmoke reiju figure, a boa hancock figure in the back, a robin figure (dont ask why she's in her underwear i dont know either. but man do i like it), a yor forger figure, matching wano zoro and luffy funko keychains, and all my demon slayer funko keychains. i'm pretty sure this is the full set of them, i might be missing a nezuko variation though

this small bakugo figure (which sits on top of mha ultra analysis) is the first figure i ever got, i think i got it like five years ago? i don't even remember where i got it from, it was probably a gashapon machine somewhere idk. i lost his original stand ages ago so now he's sticky tacked to a lego :(

here's a closeup on my beloved midari ikishima shrine!! on the side is stickers of her sticky tacked to the shelf, and to the left is a hatsune miku drink can and a small yuji itadori figure. the shrine consists of 6 acrylic stands, 3 keychains, 3 button pins, 2 enamel pins, two sets of stud earrings, 6 stickers, 1 playing card with her on it (above the stickers but its cut off in the pic) and a bottle of purple nail polish that exactly matches the shade of hers. and kakegurui volumes 1 and 3 ofc (i plan to add kakegurui midari and the other kakegurui manga volumes to this soon). i really want more officially licensed midari merch but it's so hard to find and there's barely any of it. the white stand that some of the stuff is sitting on is a funko pop box with paper attached to it lmao

moving down to the second shelf! here's a brook figure, i really love this guy. the sculpting on his hands is SO good

next to brook is a zenitsu figure, a giyuu tomioka figure i got from a gashapon machine, and two tbhk pins

meruem and komugi funko pop on top of the manga :') my god i love these two so much. i really want to get that bandai figure of them but its like $500 at the CHEAPEST and it's not even good quality :( i'd like to get the hunter fan studios figure of them but alas, its also $500 dollars. someday i will </3 there's also a yuji itadori acrylic stand and a yuji funko keychain to the left that i forgot to take a closeup of

i've also got the komugi funko because of course i do, and it's displayed in front of hxh vol 25 because of course it is. someday i'm gonna get the meruem and pitou pops and i want them soo fucking bad but they're harder to find. also a zoro figure! from the same set as brook and the robin and otama figures from the top shelf.

bottom shelf closeups! here's the middle of the shelf, with the rets of my hxh funkos (netero, bisky, and kurapika), my radical ed funko (i want the other two so bad but they're expensive :( got a matching keychain though), a honey senpai funko and a kuromi one. plus a cool large miku pin, a yor forger pin, and a pochita plush. i really love the all in one death note book. also, death note volume 3 (the blue one that's slightly taller than the others) was the first manga i ever got! i got it at a thrift store like four years ago i think. the k-on omnibus is the most recent manga ive gotten

yugioh section! duelest 1-4 and millennium world 1-3 were both gifts from a friend, and i got zexal 1-2 at a thrift store. they were from a school library, hence the stickers on the bottom that say west and south. really annoying, but i mostly covered them with a yugioh gameboy cartridge (i do not own a gameboy lmao). also ohshc pins!

on top of the yugioh manga is my other mha funko keychains, cubone and pikachu figures, a gudetama keychain, and a pochita necklace (which is actually a friendship necklace with my friend @/fartfeild)

what are your influences/inspirations for your art!! like, stylistically or thematically!

visual art, stylistically:

the Borderlands artstyle obviously. cel shading and outlines my fucking beloved. I am so fucking sad that gbx themselves is kinda toning down on it and that they didn't implement the crosshatch shader they put in teasers for bl3. come the fuck on

the Psychonauts artstyle. even if I do no longer draw in the hyperdeformed style I took from that game I still often deform characters and exagerrate their main features in order to make them more distinct. it also kinda made me addicted to shape language lolmao

Team Fortress 2. I am fucking serious btw. blame that one youtube video on its artstyle. it's been a formative experience for me when I watched it and it stuck itself in my brain. it made me appreciate blockiness/solidity/stockiness in art, as well as teaching me how to limit color palettes and how to draw attention to the important parts of the character by using color contrast.

as for actual artists and not. Video Games. I have been eyeing cubists and futurists recently (even went to a gallery with some of Picasso's earlier works) but it's nothing too substantial as of rn

visual art, thematically:

most of what I draw is characters & fanart so. yeah .

however one thing I've been enjoying recently is redrawing paintings or old photos. usually replacing the ppl in them with my fave old man yaoi. maybe it's cringe but they are a very "love in every time" sort of couple to me so :shrug:

positivist writing, particularly Lalka by Bolesław Prus. perhaps it's because I consider myself academically inclined, perhaps it's because naturalistic descriptions pander to my Biology Autism, perhaps it's bc of smth else idk

Terry. Pratchett. comparisons in my fics are often snappy(tm) as all fuck because they're, well, Borderlands fics, and to me a Borderlands novel should be Discworld-like. also because Discworld itself slaps

the work of Alexis Kennedy: the guy who wrote a lot of Fallen London, Cultist Simulator and also the Horizon Signal dlc for Stellaris. which is all shit im into. and good lird . its hard to describe you have to read this stuff for yourself

jumping off of this post comparing and contrasting taylor & wendy with winston & rian (among other things), let’s consider: taylor & philip vs. winston & rian. an established character is good at their job but isn’t particularly liked or loved by most of their coworkers. a new character joins the firm and is just as good at the same / a similar role, if not better, and soon enough is more beloved. the established character, feeling threatened, adopts a [write them a letter that just says “get out of my school”] attitude toward the new character. less room for [taylor’s / axe’s] people and more for [wendy’s / prince’s], et cetera. consider also: winston pointing out taylor is rewarded for confidence while he’s deemed aggressive for it (or obnoxious, if you ask rian), and philip entering moments later to criticize taylor’s approach for being too aggressive.

where things diverge is philip ultimately opting to work with taylor as often as he can and to treat them like a respected peer, rather than deciding to kick them around whenever he feels like it. probably helps that taylor owns their own fund and isn’t going to have it taken away just because philip’s book does better than theirs one quarter. that gives them more power and a more stable position than winston, who as far as we know doesn’t have anything more solid than “head of the quants, maybe, once upon a time,” and then “still a quant, who taylor made an effort to keep around that one time, but certainly not their favorite.”

good morning beloved mutuals. once again i am using tumblr as my personal dumping grounds for dreams, knick-knacks, obsessive thoughts et cetera. *kissy face*

this time is mostly because i want to remember these dreams so i can give the occasional bone to pick to my therapist (who is really keen on hearing what i dream and walks away disappointed most times because i tend to be unable to remember my dreams. lmao)… also because these dreams have been pretty weird and left me well, not unsettled or uncomfortable but they made me think. (keeping this as short as possible because i have things to do this morning THAT i am forfeiting in favor of writing a tumblr post about Weird Dreams)

okay so! basically. yesterday night i had this dream i only remember one scene of: i was in a park (in my German Erasmus City) and i was cuddling with this guy on a picnic blanket. this guy is a Very Real person some stuff happened with and for whom i ended up getting a fucked up crush on at my lowest in february-march and whose thought made me panicky and sad and want to self-isolate to hell and back. this same guy i ended up seeing during my holiday stint in sicily and the atmosphere between us was GLACIAL… my friends told me he’s got like. super pissed at me because i didn’t come out to say hi before we were leaving German Erasmus City. like we hung out just the two of us a couple times when the others had gone away already and i was always somewhat uncomfortable because the conversation was awkward and i genuinely did not understand why he kept hanging out with me and if he liked my company at all… back then i felt he didn’t behave all that correctly towards me and i still maintain that.

but i’m sorry he was disappointed by the fact i didn’t come out to say goodbye in march. i mean i was probably pissed at him and very depressed and hiding in my room but i’m sorry and i’ve been ruminating ever since my friends told me this… like. text him and tell him. it’s just not my style though. and i don’t think he would take it super well? i wouldn’t even know what to say except i didn’t know it made him feel like it and i’m sorry for it. and so many months have passed and i should just leave it be.

and i dreamt about him yesterday. and my ex boyfriend is coming to town in a matter of days and i am thinking about it, and him, all the time, wondering if i should text him at least to wish him good luck on his phd admission test. which i would gladly do if i wasn’t so afraid of upsetting him by showing up. and i thought that maybe i could just pop by the uni and wish him good luck in person. but then again i wouldn’t want to spring on him like that. and if i don’t text him at all i am going to feel bad anyway because it’s been ages since the last time i saw him and the mere thought makes me want to cry.

tonight i dreamt about the other guy again. last night’s dream surprised me because it was so sweet and tender and i didn’t expect to want that so much - intimacy and silence and being held. and my brain, my subconscious decided to assign him that part? like… i have my ex on my mind most of the time nowadays and he’s like the most plausible pick for tenderness but no. it seems like i can’t even bring myself to face him in the dreamscape. back then, right before everything happened, i used to dream about him all the time.

and in tonight’s dream i was somewhere, in a house with a terrace/garden (like my friend’s sicilian villa) with my friends. he gets there, and instead of acting cold like it actually happened in reality, he takes me by the hand without saying a word and he drags me to the end of the terrace and we just kiss. and there was desire (if you huh. know what i mean. it feels cringe writing it but basically he was… making me feel it) but mostly tenderness.

and then the dream kind of degenerated into a complicated storyline like… buses to take in my city… the same guy, or perhaps another person, transitioning (and i conjured this very articulated monologue by this trans woman who at this point was a different person entirely who still had ties with my erasmus friends… she was talking about freedom of expression and how freeing it was to go to the cinema before the rise of the internet??)… also this party on the beach with my erasmus friend that ended like. really late at night. and i went home, somehow had nicolas maupas there of all people, my parents coming home in the middle of the night and having to shoo him out… also missing a plane to valle d’aosta because i had booked a flight for that same night but with the party and all i forgot, and having these thoughts about when to reschedule the flight… it was all pretty weird.

well. this turned out longer than anticipated but i had fun procrastinating revising catullus 68. i hope you had fun reading about my dreams and real life drama lmao. kissies to all of you mutuals

And yes yes!! Lasair’s plan could not have happened without the help from both the boys,,, so the conflict that happens between them stemming from both their guilts is 👌👌👌 so so yummy. They’re both equally responsible for this mess!! Phil knows he’s responsible for the release of it into this world, but chooses to blame Patrick because if he acknowledges his own crime, then that makes him partially-responsible for Patrick’s insistence on sacrifice,,, they’re both so fucked up I love them <3

And LASAIR,,, my beloved

So, for some context: Lasair is what is referred to as a Spirit in their world, which is a being created out of a massive event in history. The life spirit was created by creation, the death spirit was created by the first death (a little songbird, hence its title the Songbird), and et cetera. Lasair happened to be formed out of a human-started fire that burned down the entirety of an island (the world is basically a bunch of islands connected via ports and ships. Lasair was created by the destruction of one of the bigger ones)

Due to this, Lasair is basically a living flame. It was corrupted by the hatred that caused its fire, though, so it views the world as a place of corruption, fear, hatred, et cetera and wants to purify it. Uh. Purify as in destroy all of it. Oops. The issue is that the other spirits kinda hate this idea, and managed to lock it up via ritual with the help of some humans (one of which happens to be granted immortality as a gift,,, and is helpful to the plot later on,,, and makes me want to cry)

Phil just happens to uh. release Lasair several centuries later not knowing what it was. in his defense tho it did trick him….. Like, if god came out of the sky and said he was going to give me college money as long as i helped him out, I’d probably do it too

ANYWAYS, Lasair’s power is limited, so it knows it needs the help of humans to achieve what it wants; it’s not nearly as strong as the other spirits (it’s fairly new), and it’s flame can only reach so far. It needs to make other humans do it’s work (which is also proving it’s point abt humanity. That they’re irredeemable and prone to destroying themselves. But also like,, Las is purposely surrounding itself w the worst of humanity and helping feed its already traumatized and broken followers this idea that humans are terrible and don’t deserve life, worsening their own issues, so them and It are only ever seeing the worst,,, and not the beauty,,, sobs)(also also Patrick being apart of this cycle of hatred and eventually ESCAPING. And then slowly looking into the world around him and realizing it can be beautiful. URGH). Anyways, to get humans, Las figures that it needs to *appear* human in order to gain their trust and loyalty

You know how how you can burn sand into glass? That’s essentially what it does. It wears faces of glass/porcelain that it can mold very quickly, and the same with limbs and it’s body. When it wants to change, it lets these pieces shatter, then reconstructs it’s features, like glass blowing,,,, it’s kind of hard to explain, haha. Spirits aren’t supposed to appear human, though, hence the oddness of Lasair’s attempt. Its facial expressions are caused by the glass reheating and shifting, and its mouth never moves due to the effort that would take, so it just opens it to signal its speaking,,, that sort of thing.

This faux skin is also very warm to the touch since underneath it there is literal fire. Also, it never has managed to form hair; it just lets flames take the shape of that. Since creating large amounts of this glass-like body is difficult to maintain, it usually only forms a face and arm, then lets its cloak hide the rest

(This is also to show why Pat, whose own hair is the color of Lasair’s flames, shaves his head immediately upon leaving and covers up the rest with a hat. He’s ashamed of sharing that color with it).

Lasair is an interesting concept to me though,,, its worldview and Pat’s attempt to change that view in the end. The way it takes broken ppl and convinces them that the world is nothing but suffering, so why save it… and then how willingly Pat went along with this mess, even being the one to help Lasair create this empire, before escaping that mess and learning how to love life again,,, OUGH it makes me so so unwell!!! I rlly need to draw Lasair at some point…

Got any commander decks?

Part one for those interested.

I have two Commander decks built, three planned, and ten concepts. Let's get into it.

My first Commander deck is a Vorthos deck, because surprise, I'm a Vorthos player! (Not a surprise, I love lore and the little people on my cards.) It's a Blue-Black-Red deck based on the antagonists of MTG, focused mostly on Nicol Bolas with some of the other little bastards sprinkled in. I recently switched the Commander from Crosis, the Purger to Marchesa, the Black Rose. She is a QUEEN and deserves to lead these idiots to victory, because maybe then they'll finally be successful.

My other built Commander deck is Falco Spara, Pactweaver (to the surprise of no one who has been following me for even a few minutes). It's a "Counters Matter" Green-White-Blue deck. And to save myself the math, it's not JUST +1/+1 counters - it's shield counters, charge counters, keyword counters, et cetera. I used to have a Green-Blue Merfolk Tribal deck that was almost solely +1/+1 counters and it killed me to keep track of the math so I killed it. Spara's deck is something of a spiritual successor to that one, much like my Blue-Red Instants And Sorceries Matter deck was the spiritual successor of my first precon deck.

I may as well just use Spara as my bridge to my three deck plans, since one of them is also about him. I call it, "Are You Sure These Are Demons?" and it's Green-White-Blue Demon Tribal.

Yes, you read that right.

During the writing of this post (and the deck in Archidekt), there are exactly three (count them, three!) non-Black non-Red Demon cards: Falco Spara, Pactweaver; Heralds of Tzeentch; and Lord of Change. Yes, the latter two are from the Warhammer 40K crossover commander decks. As you can probably guess, the Changeling keyword and Shapeshifter creature type are carrying this theme, hence the snappy title.

Hungry Hungry Dragon is a Black-Red-Green Food Token Theme deck headed by Korvold, Fae-Cursed King. Didja see what I did there? Honestly, not much to say here. Make Food Tokens, sacrifice things, the Dragon gets stronger. And yes, Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar is there.

Pennies On The Dime is me laughing at Ob Nixilis. I have the same emotions towards this abhorrent man as one has towards a beloved yet annoying younger sibling. So laugh we shall! Iiiiit's Black-Red Devil Tribal. Get out a bunch of Devils that do damage when they die, sacrifice them, use them to empower Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin and let him haul ass towards your opponents. LET HIM KILL! And then bully him for getting bodied by 18-30 year old women (Chandra, Giada, Elspeth, etc).

And then there are the ten who have not been built or figured out. These will just be bulletpoints:

Lord Xander, the Collector: Blue-Black-Red mill (because I enjoy being hated, I guess)

10 tips for writing Christmas Hallfix stories

I was challenged to write a romantic Hallfix fanfic this Christmas (thanks, @mrakyvkafi), and to be honest, I really enjoyed it. It's definitely not my best work, I kinda rushed it, but hell, it was fun to write it! To really follow all the rules I've watched about 30 Hallmark and Netlix movies and I think I decrypted them all. And because I don't want you to go the same hellish path as I did, I wrote 10 of them down for you!

This is pretty basic: one of the characters has to be very busy in their job, and he/she has no time for Christmas and anything around it. Like a manager, marketing specialist, or else.

Second character should have a small business, which probably doesn't make much money, maybe it's even close to bankruptcy, but is vital and beloved by the community. Also, this character has some plans with it to make it better, to win some competition, or to make better service for locals (there was one movie where the main girl has a boutique and she dreamed about having a car in which she could go to the senior house and dress the old people there up. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen in these movies - so you can definitely use your whole imagination!)

There has to be a hot chocolate in every scene. I am suspicious that even cars use hot chocolate in these movies instead of gas.

There should be snow everywhere, because snow is just magical!

Also, don't forget that every house and every room has to look like Christmas puked all over it. Except the house of the character who is busy in their job. This character doesn't even have a Christmas tree at home of course. Or any gifts, they need help with it. Pffft.

There should be some contest. Like who has the best baked cookies, the best Christmas painting et cetera.

Don't forget festive and winter activities! Ice skating, building of a snowman, buying and decorating of a Christmas tree. Be creative!

There should be a friend, invested in the love life of one of the main characters. Cheering for them of course.

Don't forget to add a little conflict. Add sister, which might be seen as a lover of a male main character, or brother, whatever. Make the main character lose something. Make them forget an important meeting. Anything. Just don't forget that the misunderstanding has to be explained during a healthy conversation.

And the most important thing... the main characters has to be very interested in each other. But they should not be rushing things. Honestly, this is my favourite part of Hallfix movies. No hook-ups, no sex scenes (sorry, A Castle for Christmas, I know you have it in you and I love you, but you're an exception!). Just gentle touches, few hugs, long stares, talks... and kiss in the very last scene. Damn <3

GOING ON INSTINCT ≈ A tag for all things natural, wild, animalistic && nonhuman. May be used for otherkin/nonhuman posts and terms, for fanart of animal characters, for posts about animals and critters, and instinct-related posts. These themes and their posts may be directly or indirectly connected; the tagging may be erratic. May also have to do with posts/terms regarding natural human experiences, though I generally may avoid using this for real life issues and important things. ALSO INCLUDES NATURE/BIOLOGY STUFF!!!

CHESIRE EMPIRE ≈ This one is for all things related to disabilities, mental illnesses/conditions, as well as symptoms and much more. I also use this for anything that may be potentially linked to my/one's disabilities/conditions/illness/symptoms, but in a lighthearted fashion. Some terms with scary themes are an example of this; namely, disreality and horror. Make sure to use filters so my posts are safe for you to view, in case you are easily paranoid.

UTMOST IMPORTANCE ≈ Posts that I consider to have heightened relevance. I often struggle with what things i should or shouldn't tag with this, so please be aware of that if you see something that YOU don't consider should be tagged with it. I am more than glad to receive outside thoughts for this, so long as they are politely given. This ranges from important information, educative posts, time sensitive things and much more.

UNSORTED TRINKETS ≈ Anything that doesn't exactly fit into other tags or that I otherwise don't know how to tag (or don't have a tag for it) will be tagged with this. I also had a time whrre I used this heavily for all posts on reflex, so please excuse if your prior posts had this while fitting nicely into other tags.
