CS AU Week Day 2 & 3: Canon Divergence + Another Realm 

Somewhere In Neverland 

There’s something in his eyes that draws her in. Is it the distrust? The anger? The hurt?

Maybe it’s simply one broken heart recognizing another. 

Emma tried to ignore the truth-that Henry was right-but falling through a portal to Neverland-well, it was an eye opener to say the least.

And he’s there-Hook. When she landed in the water, he saved her, brought on board. With his forget-me-not eyes and English burgh, she tries to tell herself not to trust him. That she needs to get home. 

But God it’s hard.

He stood away from her staring out into the sea, and that nagging part of her is kicking her to go to him, to talk to him. To open up.

But an open heart is an open wound and she can’t afford anymore of those. 

All the same she’s at his side, following his gaze towards the sea.

“Who was she?”

“Can’t imagine what you mean love.” he smiled, a smile that was meant to distract her. But Emma wasn’t allowing it.

“I know when a person is lying, Hook.” she glances at his tattooed arm. “She meant a lot to you. Milah?”

“That was a long time ago.”

“Doesn’t change any of it-the pain. It’s still there.”

Hook laughed without humor, glancing over at her. “And here I thought you had never been in love.”

“Once.” She sighed. “It’ll happen again. Just like it will with you. You can’t let yourself be consumed by revenge. It’s not going to change anything.”

Hook stared at her, lost for words. “I’ve spent the majority of my existence trying to get my revenge-tell me; if I were to throw it all away, what would I have left to live for?”

Emma gazed unflinchingly into his eyes, the answer springing forth with a small smile on her lips.

“A future.”
