My brother at one point showed me some homebrew stuff he had found online that allows you to esstentially play as a slugcat from Rain World and my brain latched on to that idea. So of course naturally I decided to design and draw a potential slugcat character I would like to play at the table. A celestial warlock who's Patron is an Iterator.

Whenever I see Princess Elise hate, it would always bother me because of how baseless and flimsy these evidences are.

She is hated for being selfish when her whole entire life right after her father’s death has her esstentially ruling her kingdom for her whole decade, meaning that Elise never had a childhood! Did I also mention that her father sealed a bloodthirsty god in her body and told her not to cry lest she unleashed it, meaning that Elise has to bottle everything her emotions and not risk unleashing Iblis on accident, meaning that she has to develop coping mechanisms to not risk it.

She is hated for….kissing Sonic back to life and then keep saying lots of derogatory and gross stuff to her and also putting lots of gross elements to her relationship with Sonic when this was never case at all. Sonic is a fully sapient being who only displays his associated species trait on few occasions but is still considered human, Elise and Sonic’s relationship were completely chaste and innocent along with them being introverted, shy and awkward teenagers, and also when Elise kiss Sonic, it was just a fairytale kiss that have existed for a long time.

She is hated for ‘stealing’ and ‘seducing’ Sonic away from Amy and even gets called a homewrecker when it’s pretty dehumanizing to Sonic as if he’s Amy’s property and not to mention that Elise and Amy’s friendship did not mention Sonic at all and the only time it did is when Amy entrusted Elise to take care of Sonic and when the Hedgehog trio (Sonic, Shadow and Silver) defeated Solaris, both Amy and Elise celebrated the victory along with their friends.

She’s hated for being ‘useless’ when Elise did the best she could in whatever situation is put into. She’s not a fighter, she’s more of a moral support. And when Eggman threatened harm on her subjects, Elise didn’t hesitate to give herself up if it means that her people and citizens are safe.

But if Elise was written to be super perfect they'd hate her for being a Mary Sue next and demand that she needs to have flaws and be better written- when Elise had flaws in the first place and was overall written decently despite the tiresome amount of contrived kidnappings and such.

Overall, there is no pleasing these haters- and most of all, its almost disturbing how they’re willing to give Silver and Mephiles who debuted in the same game as Elise second chances and whatnot but Elise, however, is doomed to be crucified for things that aren’t even her fault and haters won’t even give her a second chance despite the former two (esp Mephiles) being badly written as well.

as for other ideas, i don't think i have any at the moment for longfics or anything like that. i always thought that if i wrote another longfic (which, if i even make it out of ivory rain in one piece, i need to lie down in a field for a while haha) it would be for valgrace, maybe jasico.

i have the occasional one shot for valdangelo yk (and i really do need to do more fluff and angst, i know it's unfair i've been doing esstentially exclusively smut outside of IR :') ), and ofc i bounce around the archive au in my brain like a microwave potato every once & a while, though i imagine that au is too gritty for people to really get into, & i respect that.

other than that, i don't really have anything. of course, when i open my inbox back up for requests i'd be happy to take a prompt though ! :-)

Do you think it would've made more sense for Blake to join Yang's group in the "Divide" episode? The group that went to help assist Mantle's civilians. I guess the reason she went with Ruby is because the writers needed to create drama between her and Yang or w/e.

Honestly, yeah. Blake's whole character outside of specficially fighting for the Faunus, if someone who's meant to fight for the oppressed. The poor and downtrodden, and that's shown through her strong sense of justice and inability to simply sit by and allow bad things happen.

At least it should. CRWBY is not known for their consitent writing.

And not even in the last episode, Blake was the one to bring up that Ironwood was esstentially leaving people down in Mantle to die. It feels like the writers just flopped characters, where Ruby, Nora and Blake all confirmed that their duties are to protect the people of Mantle, but then not a few hours later they decided to ignore Mantle to carry out Ironwood's plan, despite having nothing to suggest that was even possible.

While I don't mind if Ruby decided that the bigger picture was trying to get reinforcements, regardless of how stupid her plan was, I don't buy it for Blake. It felt like they wanted a Blake vs Yang plotline in this volume, but then changed it to Ruby vs Yang and forgot that they did so.

'Cause now we got Blake and Yang acting like simply going on two different missions is grounds enough for despising each other, while Ruby and Yang, the two that actually fought, has Ruby being rightfully worried and Yang just worrying about her stupid cat LI. It's more evidence to what people are saying that Yang isn't being written as Ruby's sister, but as Blake's girlfriend.

2023 Horror Challenge: [11/?]

↳“So what is this? Like a tournament of champions?” Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2023) dir. Adam Robitel

Plot: Zoey & Ben unwillingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms with four new strangers, all of them soon discovering that they've all played the game before.

Starring: Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, (Deborah Ann Woll), Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Thomas Cocquere, Carlito Olivero, Isabelle Fuhrman & James Frain

Oh man, that title. lol They really didn't do themselves any favors for this movie by going with that. Anyway, if you notice how I put the cast, you may be able to tell which version of the movie I ended up watching. So, I figured I'd check this out when I noticed that they did indeed bring Taylor Russell & Logan Miller back after the cliffhanger in the first one. To at least see how this played out. And there's even more familiar faces this time. Except I watched the alternate version, which spoiler alert: means no Deborah Ann Woll this time. But honestly, from what I've heard, I'm glad tbh. Because in this version, you get scream queen Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) giving another knockout performance. I actually digged this ending kinda. The theatrical one sounds like way too much. Now I did NOT like all the recapping at the beginning of the movie. It felt incredibly lazy for the filmmakers to edit it that way. BUT, once it got going, it held my attention the whole way through. Is the concept completely ludicrous? Very much so. But it was fun and the puzzles were even bigger and brutal so there's that. If you liked the first one, I do think it's worth a watch but I'd recc the alternate version because something tells me the canon version will piss some people off, to say the least. heh But then, they were really trying to build a franchise I guess, but I don't think that's happening at this rate. I'm fine either way but since I consider the alternate version to be canon for me, the story is esstentially over so there's no need.

See that thing you just did where you assumed that Adrien would handle it in the worst possible way? That’s the condescension that I’m identifying in Felix. He doesn’t know that. Just like Ladybug doesn’t know that he won’t be able to emotionally handle the reveals. She has evidence for it, yes. It’s possible yes. But like Felix, she doesn’t know. They’re doing something very similar. I think it’s funny that you defend Felix for it but when Ladybug does it, it’s a problem.

Also what? Lol Felix will apologize and own up to his mistake but Marinette won’t? Where are you getting this from? What makes you think Felix would tell him In the first place? Why would it become a priority? He’s never cared about Adrien being In the know before and it’s never seemed to bother him. Why start now? What makes you think Felix would admit that he is wrong so easily compared to Ladybug? And what makes you think Ladybug would be immovable on owning up to her mistakes compared to Felix? There’s a lot of unfounded bias in your statements. Felix hasn’t proven himself to be particularly self reproaching. It took him snapping everyone out of existence and then believing he’d killed his cousins girlfriend to stop genociding. Marinette, on the other hand, has been self reproaching and changed her tune for much less. There is no evidence to suggest that Felix would suddenly have a higher EQ than Marinette and suddenly become reasonable with his cousin. Just a lot of projecting onto Felix what you might want him to be. Also your quotes for them are esstentially saying the same thing. “I did what I did and I don’t regret it.” The only difference is Felix is dropping an unfounded and ultimately meaningless “sorry”.

You really have no idea what you’re talking about, do you? You just saw my posts in a tag, out of context for the whole AU I was crafting where certain things happen and character exploration and character development goes on and assumed I was trying to predict Canon rather than taking an idea and running with it.

I could go on about how Felix isn’t a character so much as a plot device. The writers want something to happen, so they have him do it. His motivations and goals being contradictory and making no sense when put together because the writing is a hot mess. So fanfic writers either have to use him like Canon, or pick one of his motivations and stick to the bit.

I could point out that fanfic is for taking a scenario and running with it. Sometimes in a way that may eventually go against Canon.

I could point out that yes there is a huge fucking difference between the idea of “I had my reasons but you got hurt and for that I’m sorry” and “sorry you got hurt but I was doing it for Good so it’s fine!”, and go into a character study on why I think each does what they do, even accidentally because Felix isn’t trying to be a saint and Mari isn’t trying to be an asshole.

But you’re clearly not here for that.

I saw something a while back saying that Michael Schumacher and Kimi were able to esstentially win their wdcs when they were with Ferrari because they hadn’t had this idealised built up version of what was Ferrari was compared to Seb and Charles. And it got me thinking, was that the case for Daniel and McLaren? McLaren as such a historic team with drives like Senna and Prost driving for them. And in his GQ interview he says they’re a team he’s always looked up to and respected and Daniel being so happy about his Monza trophy being beside one of Sennas. Sometimes things like this really does make me believe he really is doomed by the narrative

i don't think that it's quite so simple that it's JUST that, but i wouldn't be surprised if it was a little bit of a factor overall. cause he's talked about how he always loved mclaren as a brand and as a team—he bought a mclaren back when he was at redbull and basically had to hide it for years, when he joined mclaren he talked about hoping to spend the rest of his career there, etc—so i wouldn't be surprised if there was a little element of deification at work.

but even more than that, i think it's gotta reaaallllyyyyy fuck with your head to join such a legendary team that's been apart of your life for so long, only for it to turn out the way it did for him yk? like it's gotta suck no matter what team you're on if it's not clicking and you can't quite figure out why, but to have it happen on a team that you WANT to make work so badly? how would that NOT lead to you beating yourself up for it that much more 😭
