Fourth Wing Boys Head Cannons - Accidental/Unplanned Pregnancy

These are based around the battle at the end of Iron Flame. So if you have not read Iron Flame, the below will contain spoilers for some of our boys.

Garrick

He would be as still as a statue. You aren’t even sure he’s even breathing as he looks down at you wide eyed. You were both on the tonic, but clearly there must have been a faulty batch. The healers were adamant. You were pregnant.

After a few moments he’d snap out of it, brow furrowing as he thinks everything over in his head. “Are you sure? Did you get-“ you cut him off with a nod, which is all he needs to shut his mouth and nod.

You could tell what he was thinking. This was no time to be having a child. Not in the midst of a rebellion. Not a rebellion you both had prominent parts in. Not when Xaden needed him.

After a few tense moments of Garrick being stoney faced and reserved, a small smile would start to pull at the corners of his mouth. Which honestly surprised you. Before you Garrick wasn’t really the relationship kind of guy. You even falling into that category a few times till another rider had showed interest after you were both sent to Samara.

“Really picked the perfect time to fall pregnant didn’t you?” He teases before to swat his arm, his usual booming laugh breaking through the tension that was now nowhere to be seen.

Despite the teasing joke you could tell he was nervous, worried and unsure. Especially as he pulls you against him, resting his head atop yours as it rests against his chest. His heart beating erratically underneath, a start contrast to calm demeanour he was trying to output.

Bodhi

He drops whatever he was holding, staring at you with shock as he goes utterly still. Wide eyed, mouth open as he just looks at you.

He goes to talk multiple times but keeps shutting his mouth, clearly unsure what to say. Eventually starting to pace back and forth till you grasp his hand.

His eyes snap to yours, some of the panic dissipating ever so slightly as he relaxes at your touch, the small circles you rub onto the back of his hand with your thumb grounding him.

His free hand comes up to run through his black wavy hair. “You’re sure? Like 100% sure?” He asks nervously.

You nod up at him, his eyes going wide again, but you note the corners of his mouth pulling up. You know the nervousness and panic comes from the rebellion. It’s not ideal timing. But now there’s not much you can do.

Panic flares again in Bodhi’s eyes, his hand tightening around yours. “Xaden’s going to kill me”

Xaden

it’s not often you see Xaden caught out or surprised. In fact you can’t remember ever seeing him like that. And yet here he is, staring at you, still as a statue. Not a single emotion or reaction detectable on his face. Almost like he was expecting the news.

“Fuck.” He finally says before walking over to you, his eyes glued on your stomach which currently shows no signs of the baby inside.

You can see him thinking over everything in his head. Every possibility and scenario playing out.

“You have to promise to not be reckless anymore. I can’t risk loosing you two. Ok?” His words coming out almost like a command, but there’s that slight hint of worry that softens his words. You know he just wants to protect you, and that you’ll definitely be tacking a back seat going forward.

Brennan

He pinches the bridge of his nose, pacing back and forth as he mutters to himself. It reminds you so much of Violet and how she recites facts to calm herself and focus.

Back and forth, back and forth, you’re sure he’s going to wear a track in the floor at this rate. You reach out and grab his hand to stop him.

His amber eyes instantly soften as he looks at you. “I was doing the thing, wasn’t I?” He asks as he purses his lips, knowing he slipped into planning mode. You nod at him and smile. “Yeah, you kinda did.”

He smiles down at you, and instantly you feel like everything is going to be ok. Is it good timing? Gods no. Especially with the Venin advancing on Navarre. And especially now they know Brennan is alive.

“We’ll make it work. We always do.” He tells you softly, reaching up and caressing your cheek.

Dain

This man is in denial. How could this happen? You were both on the tonic. And that tonic has never failed. Every logical situation runs through his head. There’s no way this could have happened. Unless….

“Did you stop taking the tonic?” He asks, tones almost accusing as he walks up to you, a hand raised towards your face. He lowers it wicking when he sees the anger on your face, answering his question immediately.

He would be spiraling. In a matter of weeks he’s gone from being the golden child, helping to get rid of the marked ones. And now here he was in Aretia, fighting against everything he’s always known, and now you’re pregnant.

He reaches out and takes your hands, grasping them in his as he lets out a shaky breath. “Really took disappointing my dad to a whole new level didn’t I?”

Sawyer

He would be shocked, looking at you like he doesn’t believe you. Like the words didn’t just leave your lips. But they did. You were pregnant with his child.

Despite the seriousness of the situation you were all in he would embrace you immediately.

“You’re not mad?” You ask him as he pulls away. “Gods no. Is it terrible timing? Probably, but we’ll make it work.”

Which feels like it won’t as you sit next to his bed, his leg now missing as you grip onto his hand like a lifeline. Everyone else had gone, leaving just you with him. None of them aware of what was looming over you.

He lightly squeezes your hand, your eyes snapping to his as he lazily smiles at you. You engulf him in a hug, completely forgetting about his injury. You start sobbing all the thoughts tumbling around your head. Sawyer just embraces you tighter, whispering you’ll make it work. It has to. Especially with the ring he wears on a chain around his neck. Waiting for the perfect moment.

Ridoc

He literally thinks you’re joking, trying to pull some prank on him like he does to literally everyone else. But once he sees the way you’re looking at him he goes silent. Ridoc who is never silent. And yet here you are taking the words right out of his mouth.

“Holy shit you’re not joking are you?” He finally asks you. When you shake your head at him he gets so excited.

It might not be the best time with everything going on, but he’s too excited to care right now.

He runs out the door to find Sawyer screaming “I’m going to be a dad!”

So much for keeping that quiet. The whole of Aretia knows with how louds he’s yelling and screaming.

Denki Kaminari

oh he’s HORRIBLE at silence! But he will literally zip his mouth shut if he sees you need quiet

he owns a lot of fidgets already and all kinds of flexible seating options (his favorite is one of those exercise balls)

he will play with your hair and draw circles over your skin to meet your physical sensory needs! He’ll also do yoga with you without asking (:

has all your doctors’ names and numbers memorized just in case you have a really bad meltdown

will go dummy mode as a distraction so you can slip away if you get overwhelmed :’)

he reads books about autism to try and understand your needs better

always wants to make sure you’re okay at parties or gatherings, checks in frequently

defends you ALWAYS especially if someone is talking about how you’ve shut down. He makes it personal.

he has no problem being a distraction from any and everything you need, he kinda thrives that way actually!

he would entirely kidnap the moon for you. you told him once that the moon helped you feel grounded and less alone, and he almost went on that impossible mission (he didn't because he wouldn't get to see your face if things went south)

always has your favorite movies ready along with favorite snacks!

will never ever make you feel bad for having a harder day than usual. in fact, he will fight you if you even try to apologize

has no problem telling off anyone who tries to give you a hard time when you're already feeling anxious or overstimulated

Hitoshi Shinsou

you are his most important person and he will not let you ever think otherwise

if you even think of apologizing for being too much, he will immediately put his hand over your mouth and hug you

he rubs your shoulders and gives you pressure when you need it, without even asking. he just knows you that well

he IS the human fidget! If you don't have any sensory tools, he's quick to guide your hand to his fingers, his hair, even his face if you really need to ground.

his voice stays low and he guides you through meltdowns, always holding you when you need that, and giving you space when you don't. but he always stays with you.

i made my own Life Series iceberg :)

this takes some entries from a few other icebergs i've seen around, plus a few of my own additions! i hope it's all accurate and in vaguely the correct order

here's an explanation for every entry:

LAYER ONE:

Grian owns the series: The Life Series was created by Grian, and he gets final say on all decisions relating to it.

The Helmet Rule: Lifers are not allowed to wear helmets during the series, both so other players are more recognisable and as an armour debuff.

Traps never work: There's a running pattern of traps often failing throughout all of the seasons, for a variety of reasons.

Scar's abs: There's some kind of correlation between how many lives Scar has lost and how much clothing his Minecraft skin loses.

5AM Pearl: The name commonly given to Pearl on her Red life, especially in Double Life.

Scar's Enchanter obsession: Scar almost always tries to steal the enchanting table for himself.

LAYER 2:

Secret soulmates: Refers to Grian and BigB's secret alliance during Double Life.

"SCAR NO!!!": Grian's catchphrase throughout the entire series.

Etho's skin never changes: Despite other Lifers using colour-coded or custom skins, Etho never changes his.

Jimmy's Canary Curse: Canaries are often bought down into mines to detect carbon monoxide or other harmful chemicals in the air; once the canary dies, it's a sign that there is danger in the mine. Jimmy's curse is that when he dies in the series, chaos and danger follows very soon after.

Ranchers' Revenge: The name of the Warden that Tango and Jimmy summoned to get revenge on Scar in Double Life.

All wooden structures will burn: The Lifers love arson.

LAYER 3:

Joel was Shrek: Joel's old Minecraft skin used to be Shrek, and his current skin is just a humanised version.

Pufferish of Peace: The misspelled name of the pufferfish that Grian offered Jimmy and Scott to form an alliance in Third Life.

"Go home. Go.": The words that Tango says to the viewer at the end of Double Life.

Skizz's nicknames: Skizz gives a lot of nicknames to his fellow Lifers, most famously Dippledop for Impulse or Jiggles for Jimmy.

Timmy is Jimmy: Some Lifers call Jimmy "Timmy" and can cause great confusion among the others, most notable in Last Life when Impulse thought he had been calling Jimmy by the wrong name all season.

Cupid Skizz: A headcanon that began in Double Life which claims that Skizz was the invisible force that drew the soulmates together, and is an angel/Cupid.

Crastle as a euphemism: In Third Life, Bdubs' Crastle was often called small and was joked about as a non-PG euphemism.

Easy mode left on: According to Martyn, almost every series has had the incorrect difficulty at the beginning. Most notable in Last Life, where the server was set to Easy mode instead of Hard.

LAYER 4:

Tango's rage: The moments after Bdubs' betrayal kill (Last Life) and the Ranch burning down (Double Life) in which Tango snaps.

EvilAnvil: Youtube Fancreator who creates songs based on each series, using vocal snippets of the Lifers as lyrics.

Ariosor11: Youtube Fancreator who creates videos summarising the alliances and relationships in the Life Series.

Grian's Widow Curse: Grian's allies or teammates always die before him, sometimes to his hands.

Watchers: Originally from Evo, the Watchers are a group of overruling beings who run the Life Series, effectively forcing the players to fight to the death over and over for their own enjoyment. This narrative is only apparent through Martyn's POV. This is not canon and, in Martyn's words, is more similar to a Life Series AU.

Martyn is always a traitor: In every season, Martyn betrays (or plans to betray) his closest allies.

LAYER 5:

Terry: No-one knows who Terry is. (BigB's alter-ego in Last Life when he goes into witness protection.)

Scitties: A specific image of Scar's Minecraft character, standing shirtless and with a... modified chest.

Scar's crystals actually worked: Theory with data behind it which poses that Scar's magical crystals in Last Life had a genuine effect on the player holding them.

Scott hates the Watchers: A common belief due to Scott's reluctance to kill anyone when he was chosen as the Boogeyman in Last Life. He defies the will of the Watchers, possibly out of hatred.

All winners are soulmates: All of the Life Series winners up to Real Life have been soulmates in Double Life -- Grian and Scar, Scott and Pearl, and Martyn and Cleo

LAYER 6:

"Winter is over, Spring has begun.": The phrase that Martyn planned to say after betraying Ren in Third Life after the battle of Dogwarts. It never came to fruition due to Ren and Martyn both dying in the battle.

Second Life: The original name for Limited Life which could not be used due to copyright concerns.

Listeners: A group of beings who are the opposition to the Watchers and are trying to free the Lifers.

The Full Moon Curse: Once any Lifer has pointed out that there's a full moon, the rest of the session is doomed to be tragic.

LAYER 7:

Scar's off-screen death: A cut death from Third Life which involved Scar being killed by Martyn. This was cut from the series due to it feeling awkward and not right.

Jimmy is a Listener: A theory that spawned due to the Listeners' interest and use of Jimmy during Evo. This also links with the theory that Jimmy purposefully goes out first every series to defy the Watchers as a refusal to play the game correctly.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS:

Mumbo is a Vampire: I didn't include this because it's more of a Hermitcraft thing than Life Series, but it's a fun headcanon. It stems from (I believe?) Season 7, when Mumbo's skin changed to be very pale.

Grian is a Watcher: This just tied in too much to the Watcher entry, and I felt that "Jimmy is a Listener" was more interesting.

A study on Lance's underrated role on the team.

Or, "Yes, there was a Space Mom"

Some time ago, I made a post saying that, the closest thing to a "Space Mom" the paladins ever had was actually Lance and I wanted to make a post elaborating more on why I thought so.

Now this is not me saying that we have to put this Team in neat nuclear family boxes, even Shiro, the one who the fandom collectively agrees to call "Space Dad" doesnt fit perfectly the Team Dad trope, but what I mean is that, this role is one that most of the time it appears naturally in any group of friends/people.

So, lets start with seeing how TVTropes describes what is a Team Mom:

"In an ensemble show, especially of the fighting kind, there needs to be someone to hold this Ragtag Bunch of Misfits together before they kill each other or wander off into the woods like so many Player Characters."

"The Team Mom basically acts as the mother figure for everyone else in the group, regardless of age or family relations."

"Although the role itself is traditionally female, the overprotective dad or older brother can qualify for Team Mom"

"They are by definition never the loner, and will in fact tend to be the one who pulls them into the cast's orbit as a Sixth Ranger. If anyone can break through and bring about a Heel–Face Turn or Cooldown Hug, it's them"

"if any of their surrogate children or siblings are threatened, they can snap into angry Mama Bear mode and kick some ass"

Basically, this role is less about gender and age and more about how the character threats the rest of their peers.

It is hard to imagine resident flirty goofball Lance as fitting in a role like this since, usually, characters that are referred to as the "Team Mom", seem a bit more responsible and mature.

And, admittedly, it is a role that he has to grow into a bit, but even in the first episode he already had some shades of this:

Covering for Pidge and taking the brunt of Iverson's anger, running to aid someone who had fallen from one of the pods (before knowing it was a pretty girl) and protecting Coran from a explosion.

Overall through the show, Lance actually ends up being very caring and protective towards his teammates.

I was unsure on how I wanted to do this analysis since, there is actually quite a lot I want to talk about, so I decided to highlight how Lance acts with every member of the team from this angle.

Keith

The Lion Switch and Keith stepping to pilot Black is what, for a lot of fans, kickstarts Lance's arc of becoming a more mature individual and team player.

But even as early as s1, we do have moments of Lance keeping Keith grounded, like when he stops him from being reckless and hurting the balmera.

In season 3, when Keith is dealing with the loss of Shiro, everyone present decides to turn to Lance to handle it, Lance doesnt even notice what they are doing and instead goes to talk to Keith.

It is interesting that, even Coran and Allura (the adult and the diplomat) also look at him to handle the situation. And it's not a case of just looking at the next person in line, since Pidge is very clearly looking in his direction.

They eventually join to talk to Keith too but not before Lance makes the first approach.

And even when it was clear he really wanted to be chosen, Lance still quickly went to support Black's choice and thus, Keith's new position.

Like Allura tells us later, this is what makes Red, the literal right hand lion to call for Lance.

"You value a strong team"

Because thats what makes Lance really shine. His utter love and care for his team.

Even when he was clearly disappointed about not being chosen he decides to forget his own hurt to instead show to his unsure teammate.

And support he did.

After Keith goes to follow Lotor and makes the team enter a difficult situation while Allura is struggling with Blue, it's Lance the one who manages to make him stop and return.

Keith returns with Lance and shows he is regretful of his actions, one would think that Lance would take this chance to scold his "rival" but instead, he just acknowledges that Keith did mess up but now they are going to fix it. Showing Keith he is not alone in this.

After this incident Lance keeps being very vocally supportive of Keith (when he agrees with his orders).

And will usually follow his orders to a T. For example in "The Journey Within" Keith made a system for the team to sound off every certain period of time, and when Keith stops seeing a point to it, Lance keeps going and the team follows his lead.

It is also interesting to mention, these moments of Lance speaking softly to Keith when he is freaking out.

Another example would be when they get captured and Keith calls the name of his teammates, Lance being the first name he calls and the first to answer.

This ended up being quite long and the 10 pic limit doesnt help either so I will be splitting this in parts.

Keith and Allura's section is, unsurprisingly, quite long but I managed to gather a little evidence to talk about Lance's relationship with all the team.

We know Konig is more soft on women, but is it all women in general? For example, if some girl was hitting on him, would he be rough with her? Would he ever kill a woman? (if he's on the battlefield - I'm guessing he would if he had to). Is he chivalrous to all women or just his partner?

Yes, König is absolutely super soft to all women in general 🌸

The thing is, women are an exception, a beautiful, pure anomaly in König's worldview. He both worships them and views them as fragile. Women need to be protected from all harm. And at the same time... König goes feral every time he gets to taste and touch and fu–ahem, make love to a woman.

CW: Toxic!König. Sexism. Mentions of canon-typical violence and PTSD. Freudian madness.

Something just snaps, and he doesn't want to hurt his Engel... but he's a bit ADHD, and far too needy, goes a bit crazy every time he sees her. Women's soft skin and plump breasts and hot, wet, silky folds drive him insane. He just wants to drown himself in a woman, hide somewhere deep, somewhere safe, but can't because he's so big and has to act all tough. If he could, if only he was allowed, he would fall asleep every night with his cock buried inside that beautiful, warm, velvet softness.

So König's deeply embedded insecurity and attempts to seek safety are a combination that make him a little unhinged when it comes to women. That's why he can never get enough 😔 Also this man's horrible childhood has made him an adrenaline addict. Chaos is what he's used to, it feels familiar, so there's a risk that König might never settle into safety even if he finds it. He needs a high (which means he needs to kill and he needs sex.)

Female operators are skilled and tough in his eyes, and he trusts their abilities (kind of), but he would always keep a silent lookout, and try to keep them safe. Even if those women looked at him like he's a weirdo. He would always choose to help a woman over helping a man. Men can and have to survive on their own if a lady is in trouble. I know this wasn't asked but He would also never, ever hurt children.

If a woman tried to kill him (on the battlefield) he would be very professional about it. He wouldn't find joy in the killing, though. As odd as it may sound, König would prefer shooting to stabbing when it comes to neutralizing a female target. He wouldn't want to prolong their deaths, and it would make him extremely uncomfortable to knife a woman down. If he has to, he will do it, but the kill would be as quick and clean as possible.

The ones König has killed linger on the precipice of his mind as precious memories, sick fantasies made real. But the women he kills haunt him forever: those deaths sometimes give him nightmares. Especially if they brought even the tiniest bit of satisfaction...

...Because König does go into a mode when he's left with a firearm. He's so excited he sometimes drops mags simply because he's so enthusiastic. Thrill and anxiety mix when he's working, and he feels absolutely marvelous every time he fires a gun and gets to announce "Target down" in the comms. Better yet if he can go on a spree and destroy a whole room full of villains. Noticing later that one or some of them were women would give him a cold feeling in the gut and leave him with a worsening PTSD.

If a woman was violent in other circumstances, meaning outside work/warfare, he would simply seize them as gently and firmly as he can and try to calm them down. König thinks hitting women is just wrong. Even if they were trying to hit him (hitting on, as in flirting with him, now that's a different thing hehe. Not sure if this is what you asked, if so let me know!). It's unmanly and cowardly, and he would kill any guy who hits women, and kill them without mercy.

König's traumatic childhood has put him on a knight's quest to protect all women and children from harm. His mother has greatly influenced the way he sees women overall. At the end of the day, they're creatures who don't know how to defend themselves so he needs to save them.

But then again... These 'Knight in Shining Armor' fantasies should be taken with a grain of salt.

Because seeing a woman under him in a helpless state, looking back at him with cute, wet eyes while he's lodged deep inside is the best thing in the world in König's opinion. He would never deliberately go and hurt a woman... But why then does it feel so good when Engel squeals every time he goes a little too deep? (Always on accident, of course.)

Matt groans, and Chris laughs from the couch. You shoot Nick a grateful look, and he winks, his loyalty never wavering. "Don’t worry," he whispers later. "I’ve got your back—always."

⋆ ｡˚ Best Friend!Nick who constantly tells Chris to let you drive because, let’s be honest, Chris’s driving is questionable at best—especially when Matt isn’t around to keep him in check.

"Chris, seriously, pull over and let her drive," Nick says from the backseat, gripping the door handle a little tighter than he’d like to admit.

"I’m fine!" Chris snaps, barely dodging a pothole.

"Fine?!" Nick exclaims, leaning forward. "Dude, I’ve seen bumper cars with better control. Just let her take over before we all die."

You laugh, shaking your head. "Nick, it’s not that bad."

Nick scoffs. "Don’t defend him. You’re literally the only person here who knows how to drive properly. Please, for all our sakes."

Chris grumbles but eventually pulls over, handing you the keys. As you slide into the driver’s seat, Nick leans back with a dramatic sigh of relief.

"Finally," he mutters. "Now maybe I won’t have to call Matt and tell him we didn’t make it back alive."

“Are you good?” Nick asks as you step off the stage, his hand immediately finding the small of your back, steadying you as you navigate through the crowd. His brows are furrowed, concern etched across his face.

You nod, taking a deep breath. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just... a lot of people.”

Nick stops, gently turning you to face him. “You don’t look fine. If it’s too much, you say the word, and we’re out of here, okay? No questions asked.”

You smile softly at his protectiveness, shaking your head. “I’m okay, Nick. Promise.”

He doesn’t look convinced, his eyes scanning your face for any signs of discomfort. “You’d better be telling the truth, because if anyone even thinks about shoving you again—”

“Nick, it’s fine,” you interrupt with a small laugh, grabbing his arm. “Security had it handled. Besides, I’ve got you, right?”

His expression softens, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Yeah, you’ve got me. Always.”

He wraps an arm around your shoulders as the two of you head backstage, Nick still casting wary glances at the crowd behind you, ready to step in if anyone else tries to get too close.

Sure, I love the idea. (Y/N) will be 13 in this and the others will be in their 20s.

Summary: (Y/N) simply wants to spend time with his older brother Jason. Too bad that (Y/N)'s bullies didn't get the memo.

(Y/N) looked for Alfred. There was a wave of students, ready to go home. (Y/N) was one of them, but with a lot more desperation. He didn't want to see his bullies. He didn't want to be punched or kicked, or have his stuff thrown somewhere. He didn't want to be weak, his brothers and father were strong and he was...

" Hey (Y/N), where do you think you are going? " One of the bullies said.

Nope, nope, nope. He saw the car and made a run for it. He saw the familiar black car and basically jumped in. Alfred turned around, alarmed by (Y/N)'s behavior.

" Master (Y/N)? Is everything alright? "

" Yes, just drive! " (Y/N) snapped at butler. Alfred was shocked beyond belief. (Y/N) was always nice and polite, never snapping at any of his family members.

" Okay. "

(Y/N) cringed at Alfred's tone of voice. It was the tone that said ' I am mad at you so watch yourself. ' He sat back, looking at his fingers. They drove in complete silence. Once Alfred stopped (Y/N) quickly left the car and ran inside. His vision became blurry and he bumped into hard chest.

He nearly fell down, but he felt the person wrapping his arms around his waist.

" Hey, why are you crying? " A worried voice asked, a worried voice named Jason.

He slipped from his arms and ran upstairs. Jason wanted to run after him, but knew better. (Y/N) wanted to be left alone when he was sad, he didn't want to be pestered.

" Alfred, what's going on? " Jason asked Alfred who was entering the kitchen.

" Well, I think he is being bullied. He ran towards the car and snapped at me. I had to admit, I was kind of mad and let it slip through my tone. "

Jason had to admit, he saw red once he heard the word bullied. How dare they? He is a kind soul, untouched by the evils of the world. Bastards.

" Did you see the bullies by any chance? "

" No master Jason, I didn't. "

Okay, time to do some detective work. (Y/N) would probably be quiet about them. And he couldn't really torture them, they were 13 or 14 year old's.

" I hope he's not feeling bullied, I just hope that he is having a bad day. "

" Me too master Jason. "

" Did you tell Bruce? "

" No. I think I want to confirm my suspicions first before. He will start a war if he learns that (Y/N) is being bullied. " Alfred said, making Jason laugh.

That much is true. Bruce is a protective father, especially of (Y/N) who didn't want anything to do with the vigilante life. The others were protective too, not just Bruce. (Y/N) could call and they were all come to his aid. No matter who it was. They never backed down from a fight.

" I will talk to him Alfred to find out what's going on. Maybe I will even take him out somewhere. "

" That is not a bad idea master Jason. What about the others? "

" They won't know. I think I can handle some bullies. " Jason said, turning to look into the pantry for some chocolate. (Y/N) loved to eat something sweet when he was sad. So, he took (Y/N)'s favorite and went to (Y/N)'s room. He knocked and entered once he heard a faint come in.

(Y/N) was curled on his bed, his back facing Jason. Jason sat down next to him.

" So... Do you want some chocolate? " Jason asked, showing him his favorite.

(Y/N) nodded and Jason removed the wrapper, giving one row to (Y/N) and one to himself.

" What happened? " Jason asked in a soft tone, putting his hand on (Y/N)'s shoulder.

(Y/N) stayed quiet for a while, simply munching on his chocolate. Jason heard a sniffle before a soft voice rang out.

" Can this stay between us? "

" Of course. " Jason promised.

" I was running from my bullies and i didn't mean to snap at Alfred, but it just came out and- " (Y/N) turned his head and wept into the pillow once more.

" Hey, Alfred is not mad. He was at first, but he is not now. Can I give you a suggestion to cheer you up? "

(Y/N) nodded into the pillow. Jason squeezed his shoulder and started.

" How about we go to a bookstore, get you some books, then go eat something? Hm? It's Friday after all and we didn't hang out for a while. "

He smiled once he got a nod in response and leaned down to give (Y/N) as soft kiss to the side of his head. (Y/N)'s love language is physical touch.

" We are going in an half an hour, okay? "

" Okay. "

Half an hour later, (Y/N) came down to the kitchen where Jason was waiting. He immediately went to Alfred, gave him a hug and apologized for snapping at him. Alfred had already forgiven him and with a hug back, Jason and (Y/N) were on their way.

" So, what are we looking for in the bookstore? " Jason asked, as he was starting the car, leaving the manor behind.

" I really like Stephen King's books, so we should be on the lookout for him. And maybe some thrillers and crime novels...

" Okay, horror and mystery novels? You got it. "

(Y/N) smiled, happy to get some new books to read. Especially if it was from Stephen King.

" Hang on, didn't Stephen King write It, you know the movie we recently watched? "

" He did. I want that novel more than anything. "

Jason nodded. Okay, look out for a book called It. Got it.

" I have to ask, how did you get into his writing? " Jason asked, glancing at his baby brother.

" A friend gave me a book for my birthday. I wasn't a fan of reading, but once I read it, I was like, wow, I need to get more. "

" What was the book? "

" It was The Institute. "

" Do you think I could borrow it? " Jason asked, taking a turn to park.

" Of course. But if there is some sort of damage, I will end you. "

Jason laughed, raising his hands up in mock defense.

" Don't worry. Now, lets go. "

(Y/N) got out and basically ran to the bookstore. He was in heaven.

" Lead the way. " Jason said, walking behind him.

And so he did. He moved through the shelfs, occasionally stopping to take a look at some interesting titles.

" I think I found him. Yup... Okay, I see It and... Oh, I see The Shining and Doctor Sleep! "

Jason grunted as he held 3 books in his hands. It was the heaviest book of the bunch.

" Oh, and Carrie too! Hold this. "

Jason took a breath. This was his idea, it's his fault that his arms were getting tired. And it brought that smile on (Y/N)'s face.

" Oh and Pet Semetary. Okay, that's it for now. "

" For now? " Jason asked in disbelief, laughing slightly.

" Yes. Do you want some books too or... "

" No, we can go. "

Jason and (Y/N) walked to the register, Jason taking out the credit card, simply reserved for (Y/N). Yes, they had a fund for (Y/N). It was for whatever he needed.

Jason and (Y/N) thanked the lady at the register and left the bookstore, Jason carrying the bag in his hand. It was heavy.

" You bastard, using my muscles for this. " Jason grumbled with a smile.

" I mean, you need to put those muscles to some use. "

Jason laughed and led him to the car to put the books there and then get something to eat.

" Oh look who it is! " (Y/N) froze, tensing. Jason raised an eyebrow and turned around.

A trio of boys, maybe around (Y/N)'s age. The leader in the middle stepped up. Jason wanted to laugh. He straightened his back, making sure to stand tall.

" Can I help you? " Jason asked, standing in front of his brother.

" Not you, but the loser over there. "

Jason laughed for a moment.

" Do you know who I am gentlemen? "

" Of course, Jason Todd. Why are you with the loser? "

Jason laughed. Of course they didn't know, (Y/N) was protected from the media. Especially from the paparazzi and nosy reporters.

" You mean my little brother? " Jason asked, tilting his head.

The bullies stuttered. Jason's smirked widened. It made him look feral. (Y/N) knew that smirk. May God help you if he ever gave you this smirk.

He came closer to the bullies and started whispering something that (Y/N) couldn't hear, but judging by the expression it was not good.

" Got it? Now scram! "

The boys ran away, nearly tripping in the process.

" Nobody bothers you, little bird. "

" Can we go home? " (Y/N) asked Jason.

" Sure thing. "

" And where have you two been? " Bruce asked as they entered the house.

" Out. In a bookstore. " Jason said, showing Bruce the bag.

" Thanks Jay, I had a great time. " (Y/N) said, giving Jason a hug, then moving to give Bruce a hug, before going to his room. He was in a better mood already and he was going to enjoy his afternoon even more.

That "protect the pack" mode would kind of be like the Avatar state where Katara just becomes incredibly powerful and dangerous when her friends are in danger and gets a sort of adrenaline rush. Which, like you said, has some potential especially when Katara start looking at herself beyond the last wolf of the south pole and starts to have feelings for Azula in Ba Sing Se.

When Katara grows up as the sole wolf in the South Pole, she gets an isolated version of what a waterbender/wolf should be and assumes that she is exactly what a waterbender and wolf should be. She's as powerful as a wolf should be, as big as a wolf should be, as fast, as strong, etc, etc. When she goes into the Earth Kingdom, she doesn't expect the wolves to be the same as her. She doesn't love that they try to capture her or call her a monster, but she also doesn't really think much of it. Then she gets to the North Pole where she's still the odd one out. The largest wolf form there is 3 feet tall and she's much bigger than that. Everything in the North Pole is built for smaller wolves and Katara is completely removed from that. Sokka and Aang know she's feeling horrible but there isn't much they can do. On the plus side, when Zuko tries to put restraints on her, it's all too easy for her to stand up and brush them off or snap them in her jaw.

The mental image of the North Pole giving them the same house because they assume Katara has a handle on her wolf form only for her to almost bring the whole house down because she absolutely cannot fit in there. Poor Katara just wants somewhere to sleep but the North Pole has nothing for giant wolves. I feel like the necklace would change sizes with her. She has no idea why but it always changes with her and adjusts perfectly to her size. So when Pakku sees her in her wolf form, he's able to easily make out the blue necklace around her neck only now he can't take it and hold it because if he tries to grab it, Katara will bite his arm off. I feel like Pakku would ignore her because she assumes all her power is in her wolf form so he isn't prepared to fight her when they have a waterbending battle or something (which happens the very first time he refuses to teach her).

I can get what you're saying about her both choosing not to suppress her wolf form but also just not having the time (and being so much bigger than every other wolf makes it so much harder for her). I think a good middle of the road approach is Katara learning how to suppress her wolf form to the degree that she can spend the night almost as a human except she has a wolf tail, ears, claws, muzzle and strength because she didn't have to time or want to learn how to completely suppress her wolf side. At nights, she usually just goes as a full wolf if they aren't being chased but when they need to get on Appa it's a good trick that she can suddenly make herself as small as her human form is. (Azula 100% finds Katara's wolf ears adorable. Whenever she touches them, they flick and move and Azula finds it so cute).

------------------------ (Season 2)

Yeah, I think the first part would be pretty close to the show where they don't get very far but are trying to get through some character development moments. Sokka is still being a leader and Aang is coming into his role as the Avatar while Katara is trying to strengthen her bending (because I also imagine she felt kind of weak when Tui took control of her and felt like her wolf form was strong but also out of her control so she wants to learn waterbending which feels more in her control, especially since she really wants to learn that and becoming a better southern waterbender)

Of course the major season 1 upset that'll get things changing is the inclusion of Toph and appearance of Azula. Toph quite literally came in a vision, is a level of magnitude stronger than even Katara at this point, and comes in right when everyone's trying to figure out dynamics and purposes. Needless to say it shakes things up. On top of that Azulas first encounter with the Gaang happens right after, taking the place of Zuko and cranking the danger up to 11 (even if she's not as good at tracking them as he is).

The Chase is the best chance for everything to go from the frying pan into the fryer. Sokka and Katara are strong enough to, at least, be on Azula's level, especially with Katara's wolf form. She's been trying to keep in under wraps at night for safety so she can easily get on Appa but it's a lot harder for her to do that when she is exhausted and fighting with everyone. (Despite Toph's strength, Katara has to constantly remind herself not to attack her as she could do real damage to a twelve year old as a ten foot tall wolf). Aang is trying to help her but also keep everyone safe and Toph is struggling with her first time on a team. Meanwhile, Azula, Mai and Ty Lee are shocked to see a waterbender with wolf characteristics because they were taught that waterbenders were either human or wolves. Azula isn't that shocked or scared because she still thinks Katara is a small wolf. When they fight in the little town, Azula gets to finally see Katara as a full wolf and she is shocked. She expected a small wolf, a regular wolf that she would see in the EK not one that, with a wack of her paw, could send her flying into one of the buildings. She flees but is injured because of Katara's attack and I feel like, after that, Azula isn't going to try and stick around to see what this giant predator is going to do. (I do really want Katara and Azula to talk more but I also think Katara views Azula as a pure enemy and wants to get rid of her). (But also I need Azutara 😢).

I do think Katara would stay because her healer and waterbender moment is overpowering her need to chase down Azula. It's a big shift for her to act instead on her waterbending side and not wolf side.

------------------(season 2 part 2)

I agree with you on Toph and Katara being pretty similar to their canon versions here. They’d still have moments where they just flat out don’t get along but that also is now coming from Katara seeing Toph as the most powerful bender on the team (minus Aang) who can bender 24/7 unlike her and isn’t stopped by a wolf form which would just further her feelings on her wolf self not always being what’s best for the situation. In the desert, Katara probably not only becomes the one keeping the group together, as we saw in the show, but the main method of transportation since Appa is gone. (Although she and Toph can rant about the sand. Toph can’t see in it and for Katara it gets all in her fur). Wolves are hunters but they are not suited for long runs, they’re endurance hunters, so Katara won’t be able to make a lot of progress especially with carrying three people. And her fur is meant for the cold weather of the South Pole not the desert (so….highly overheated and making water supply a big problem especially when their main waterbender is a wolf almost all night because she’s exhausted from walking in the desert all day). Katara helps them make up some distance for half the night and then she practically face plants into the sand and sleeps out of pure exhaustion the rest of the night. Actually, fun fact, in the world of ATLA the desert has sand sharks which are giant predators so…..Katara’s getting some sea eat food.

There’s such a good moment where to show Katara, as a wolf, struggling to take steps. She just keeps forcing herself to keep moving but every step is a battle. Sokka is the first one to notice this and notice that she’s struggling to stay conscience but he can’t stop her from walking. Aang helps get Toph and Sokka off of her but she still refuses to stop walking, believing that she has to keep going and has to keep moving. Finally, Aang and Sokka literally trip her up and she turns back as she falling to the ground. At this point it’s much easier for Sokka to stop her from walking and get her to finally fall asleep. She’s hungry, thirsty, tired and mentally exhausted from having to keep everyone together. Being out in the desert is a test for everyone, but that really is the moment when the three see how much Katara is struggling. Aang is still upset over Appa, of course, but he also doesn’t want Katara to literally collapse because she’s trying to do everything.

Sokka, honestly, would probably have a similar time as he does in canon. He’s clinging to trying to keep the group moving and keep them alive and struggling the entire time. The desert really would be when that’s highlighted and you can finally see both how much Katara does for the group and how they really don’t know what they’re doing without Sokka there to help them. They’re struggling to just keep moving by the end of the desert arc and make it out alive. No one ever speaks about the sunburns, loss of weight, almost collapses into the sand, etc that happened there.

Moving on to Zuko and man is yet again bound to canon. That being said I do see him with a bit more angst than expected (though that's pretty much the bread and butter of the changes these kids are getting so far). I mean on top of the canon issues hes been very thoroughly bested by a single novice water bender, Sokka showed how he can't lead for crap in comparison, Azula reminded him of his position in the FN and is doing about as well as he'd expect, hell even Zhao managed to come up with a plan and execute it, a pretty dumb plan that left him as dog chow but credit where credit is due the man did kill the moon and breach the northern walls. This is all of course a pretty bad comparison but it's Zuko, gods favorite chew toy who has literally never seen anything normal in his life before and would have an allergic reaction if he did. Most of his time is gonna be like canon and getting a taste of the world, though he's unlikely to actually notice how different normality is maybe he'll get some small seed planted deep in his mind. Probably not but you can't say Iroh didn't try. Speaking of, Iroh is probably gonna be a bit worse for wear here. See, even if Katara didn't go after Azula and immediately healed him, she's a pretty novice water bender so her healing's kinda garbage right now. It'll do the work, girl is literally gifted by the moon and might've been able to brute force it if healing was as uncomplicated as canon made it out to be (I refuse to believe a 6 year old with some healing water could fully fix a fried heart, no matter how magical it is. So I'm taking the liberty of poking atla's magic system with a stick and nerfing healing to require some degree of skill). Point is he might have survived and maybe even redirected some of it, but you can't give the heart some electricity and amateur healing and expect him to come out looking like he's 20. That's right, Iroh gets the heart problems he should've had from Zuko. Probably mostly translates to being weaker in a fight (not a big deal for him really) and not being able to push himself as hard as he used to (a slightly bigger deal when traveling on the road with no supplies). Also some extra Zuko angst over Iroh not only getting hurt by Azula and nearly dieing, but seeing the lasting consequences of it. Also likely slows down their travel time a bit but what else is new in this.

(That being said, I do think that there’s also room for some humor with Zuko too because everyone assumes he stopped chasing Aang because of Azula or he was scared of Aang’s strength but that’s not the reason. The reason is because Team Avatar has a giant wolf on their team who literally bit through the restraints he brought. He’s not that stupid.)

I love the idea of Azula having a crush on Katara. Girl sees a pretty girl and is just like 😍 and then said pretty girl becomes a giant wolf capable to biting her in half without much effort and Azula’s like 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩. I do think you could have some fun with Azula having a crush on Katara at the drill because the drill takes place during the day (so no wolf) and Azula and Katara could have a fight scene inside the drill. It’s just a bunch of witty banter back and forth but Azula finds herself wishing the fight would never end (Katara is also finding this Fire Nation girl kinda cute and wants to know more but forces herself to focus on the fight). The reason the fight does end is because Aang stops the drill and Katara flees when he does. Doesn’t stop her from winking in a smug way to Azula and Azula blushing or Katara blushing when she realized that she winked at the enemy.

———————————Season 2 Ba Sing Se

Toph 100% would completely renovate their house in Ba Sing Se so that Katara can fit when she’s a wolf. And it’s not like Joo Dee can say anything cause the other option is a giant wolf sleeping outside the house and freaking everyone else out. (Toph: It’s some renovations or facing the Karens of the city. Joo Dee: Have fun building).

Sokka also spends some time planning for the invasion as well. This is the perfect time for Sokka to feel like he is contributing to the team in terms of strategy and not just keeping them alive by making sure these incredibly powerful children don’t piss off a group of firebenders or forget to eat or something. Oh! I love this idea of Sokka learning from a Pai Sho game and getting the White Lotus’s attention. The White Lotus does have people everywhere so it makes sense that they would have someone in Ba Sing Se to monitor the last city safe from Fire Nation rule.

I kinda love the idea that Katara actually can’t transform into a wolf for the first few weeks in the city because she used it so much in the desert, so not only is she mandated by the Gaang to sleep but now she doesn’t have a wolf form for a while to keep herself busy at night. It’s not by choice but Katara does finally get some rest. And her going along with Toph and Aang on various missions is just her finally getting to spend some time as something other than the group’s primary protector. Katara is able to keep up with Aang easier with just her waterbending but she does still feel vulnerable without her full wolf form to back her up. She and Aang learn how to get through the city and avoid the Dai Li while she and Toph become closer and closer. Katara takes time to rest with Toph and Toph helps Katara by basically telling her that being a wolf is awesome but bending is also great and she can help the team all the same even without her wolf self. (She and Toph can still help stop crime and commit crime together though).

Toph spend most of her time with Katara, as mentioned above, but learning goes both ways. While she might be the best Earthbender in the world, Azula and the desert was a bit of a wake up call. Strong does not equal invincible, and if any one of them hadn't cooperated it would've ended up a lot worse than their battle with Azula (which looking back she might be able to see ways they could've properly cornered Azula and taken her hostage, had everyone worked together). So she's taking an effort to, uhg, be more "cooperative" and whatnot and keep Katara company. And from there she can see how despite being weaker, Katara has her own strengths and fun moments. I mean she even joins along in having some fun in the city, even if it's directed more towards blowing up labor mills and releasing animals than anything else. All in all a very good chance to start recognizing peoples differences, which will help with teaching Aang and figuring out why people are acting they way they are.

Aang meanwhile gets his fair share of issues, namely the Appa search going nowhere fast. Hes tried everything he can think of, reached out to everyone possible, even tried using his position as the avatar to get something done, and yet nothing has happened. It's still posters being torn down in the night, fake smiles, and everyone acting like things are going great when Appa is gone. Tis a rough time for the boy, and without Sokka and Katara leading the way he's gotta do stuff independently this time around. It goes poorly. Very poorly. Break into houses, release a zoo, and wind up in jail poorly. At this point the guards hear it's another one of the Gaang and just pull out the keys, enter Long Feng. See hes heard about Aangs plight and he knows just how hard it can be to get anything done due to bureaucracy. But he's one of the Dai Lee, keepers of culture created by Kyoshi and as such loyal to the avatar and all they represent. So hes taken it upon himself to work behind the scenes to try and help (he could possibly bring it up to the Gaang, Joo Dee might report back to someone he stepped out of line). And what do you know, hes found Appa! Hes starved and half mad at this point though and only the avatar can possible calm him down enough for them to get him out. See it turns out Appa has cornered himself over by the lake (poor thing probably got loose and ran wild till it crashed) and while they have a tunnel there they can't restrain him without risking Appa hurting himself, so they need Aang to come along. Naturally there's no time to gather everyone up, Appa's scared and hurt and hungry and they didn't care enough to look every hour of every day like hes been trying to do (Sokka is so tired man, at this point they're safe in the city, just let the kid roam free till they get their audience with the king). And so Aang goes with the strange man into the tunnels without telling anyone.

If Iroh is still struggling with his health then I can see Zuko taking on the role of being the main tea maker. He feels a responsibility to help his uncle and provide for him while they’re in the city since Iroh can’t be on his feet as much. For now, he’s focused on Iroh and making sure they have the money to survive in the city. His days of trying to capture Aang or Katara have passed, especially since he assumes that he’ll never see them again. I LOVE the idea that the Gaang knows Zuko is in the upper ring and he’s the first person they suspect of kidnapping Aang (because…..of course he’s the obvious suspect). Katara is most likely seconds away from ripping out his throat if he doesn’t cooperate with them but Toph is able to tell if Zuko is lying and saves him just because Katara can make good on her threats.

Of course, Zuko wants to capture Aang again but he also knows in a little something called “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. Aang is the only thing standing between him and his father’s wrath and he would rather take his chances with the Avatar, so he agrees to help them. Everyone meets up and tries to decide what they can do to find Aang, they do suspect the Dai Li (since Zuko is cleared as a suspect after a long, long interrogation process) but the problem is that they don’t know where he is. Thankfully, Zuko heard the Dai Li say something about a lake when they took Jet away. It’s as good a place as any to start looking.

They start looking through the tunnels to try and find Aang or Appa when they’re ambushed by the Dai Li. As we saw in the show, the Gaang can take on the Dai Li but the numbers are not in their favor and Iroh is weakened. They get captured and Long Feng tries to start his monologue but he, nor the rest of the group, realize that Katara’s wolf form came back. (Fangs to the throat is a horrible way to die). Toph breaks everyone free while the Dai Li are distracted and they flee, but not before finding Aang and Appa and getting them out. There’s a sweet little reunion on the beach where Iroh tells Aang that he needs to go and talk to the Earth King about what happened. Aang agrees with him and the group runs/flies off towards the palace. When they arrive it's similar to canon where they talk to him and prove that Lake Laogai exists which results in Long Feng being thrown in prison. The only difference is that now, when Katara is trying to head back home, she picks up on something and finds Azula, who then captures her. The last wolf of the South Pole is bound to be a worthy catch to send back to her father but she also knows that she can't exactly move a giant wolf out of the city without someone seeing her. Thus, a deal is made between Azula and Katara. After Long Feng's kidnapping, Aang is going to be anything but an easy target but that doesn't mean she can't get some damage in. Katara, desperate to keep Aang safe, agrees to go with Azula and back to the Fire Nation. (Azula knows she can't take down Ba Sing Se with just her, Mai and Ty Lee, even an assassination wouldn't guarantee her victory in the city, so she's decided to take down who she views as the most powerful person on Team Avatar and weak the team so that she can attack later). Everyone is celebrating and having fun while Katara has just been taken prisoner by Azula and is being transported out of Ba Sing Se.

I do think Azula needs a bit more attention maybe some behind the scenes stuff because of now it’s not very Azutara-y. Though I do agree with you that they don’t have many scenes together so I think so every time they encounter one another they need to have an interaction of some kind to build a connection.

No, but imagine Katara attacks Azula because she’s the enemy, of course she would attack her, and bites Azula’s leg (no this is not becoming a werewolf thing). Azula tries to run but her leg is heavily damaged and she can’t get far and Mai and Ty Lee aren’t around to help. She can try to firebend but her bending is considerably worse since she can’t properly stand up. Zuko and Iroh are a bit busy at the moment (Iroh is trying not to die and Zuko is mourning) so the Gaang decide to “take her hostage” (Read as: don’t leave her to bleed out in an abandoned town). Not only does this allow for a lot of cute Azutara moments but the opportunity is there to explore Azula’s connection with her bending and how she feels about it now compared to Katara and Toph who are also prodigy benders. (Sokka makes her a walking stick because she needs some kind of helper to walk).

Black Hearted Evil, Brave Hearted Hero

It's the beginning of September, Labor Day Weekend. Two months since Shadow met Hope. They've developed a steady friendship especially after the Perseid Meteor Shower.

This evening they're racing through a trail for a lookout point. Shadow gets ahead and Hope takes detour.

"Short cut Quills!" she laughs. She goes through the wilderness which leads to the lookout point. 

She swerves barely seeing a truck coming by and stops. It's jet black without lights. She doesn't recognize it. She gets off and prepares to apologize; make sure the driver is okay.  

"Hey Hope," says a friendly voice, but edging on slyness. Oh crap! Not him! Not that stupid customer turned stalker. It's been such a long time, Hope thought he gave up. 

She quickly apologizes and inches back for her motorcycle. He's moving towards her and puts an arm around her. "Relax. No harm done. Even if it was busted, you can fix it right?" 

"Only at the garage," Hope does her best to move.   

"How about now? I can bring some wine. You can loosen up your jacket-" 

"I told you I wasn't interested!" She nearly breaks free.    

He scoffs and holds both her arms. "Not interested? Aw, Come on! You all bent over my car engine working your butt off asking for a good time?"  

Hope freezes up. Her mind is screaming to fight back! Get her pocket mace! Run! He grabs her wrists and yanks her. Pins her against his truck. Hope can only yell "No!" He doesn't get any further. 

Something has pulled him away from Hope and several feet across the sand. A gloved hand with a steely grip is pressing his chest. Staring him down, burning red eyes and bristling black quills. Hope is so relieved to hear that familar voice. "If you know what's good for you, you'll leave her alone!" 

The customer is panicking. "Oh, I didn't mean to," he laughs casually."I just-I mean- you know how it goes. She was asking for it when-" 

Shadow grasps that beast by the neck and sails up. He gives him a few chaos snap kicks back and forth. Then plunges him down into the earth. Battered, the customer can barely move. He's groaning in pain. "You could've killed me!" 

Shadow grips him one more time with a threat. "Come near her or anyone like that again, and I will kill you."  

The customer panics and scrambles away vowing he won't ever do it again. His truck zooms off. He's now terrified of the creature that attacked.  

Shadow makes sure Hope is alright. Protective brother mode kicking in. She calls the cops and reports the incident. It's a long process throughout the evening. 

Shadow stays with her even revealing he exists to the police force. He doesn't say everything, but only says earth was always his home; a home he's determined to protect. 

 This terrifies Hope that they'll report and take him away. Honestly, the cops are puzzled about who and what he is, but appreciate him for stepping in to help. Besides, not the first time they've heard of strange/extraterrestrial things happening in Yucca Valley. 👀

Hope finally goes home, numbly showers and goes to bed. She wishes to ride through the night and think everything through but can't. She's afraid and ashamed that she didn't fight back. She thought she would've and could've. She doesn't want to feel that way again.     

Meanwhile, Shadow checks everywhere around the mobile home and yard. Nobody there. All safe.

He doesn't return to his hiding location in Joshua Tree National Park. He stays by Hope and partially sleeps.

He'd been thinking of what to do with his life since the Eclipse Cannon. What choices does he have now? He finally has it.

He's going to keep Yucca Valley safe and especially be there for Hope.

This started as Steddie and evolved into Spicy Six content

Steve and Eddie are stupidly protective of those around them, especially each other, and they go insane when one of the kids (and Robin and Nancy) get fucked with.

Steve is the type of bitch who carries a pocket knife at all times and always escalates the situation. Someone insults Eddie? Steve is in their face with a blade held under their chin. He uses his appearance to throw people off because no one expects him to be prone to violence. He overhears someone call Robin a dyke while they’re at one of Eddie’s shows? Steve knocks the guys drink right into his lap, gets up in his face and threatens to stab him with a piece of the glass. Max deals with it a lot, but mostly just because Steve takes people not holding the door for her on days she’s in the chair as a personal attack.

Eddie uses his appearance to boost his threatening aura. He’s less likely to get violent than Steve but will pull out a lighter to threaten people if need be. Most of the time he just goes full “scary dog” mode and he pulls out his best DM monster voice to verbal destroy someone. Robin, and less enthusiastically Nancy, use him to their benefit, dragging him with them to late night movies or to bars so that they don’t have to worry as much. Eddie will walk right behind them, hands in his pockets, just glaring at anyone who looks a little too long (it gets worse when the four of them go out because then Steve gets dragged up to walk with Robin and Nancy and Eddie starts snapping at people for looking). Max also deals with Eddie too much, but she can deal with him, because unlike Steve, Eddie just has to be pushing her around and people will hold the doors for her - though he has verbally destroyed people who have refused to do so, it just isn’t as often, or embarrassing as when Steve does it.

When the older teens go out, Steve and Eddie are always in top form, but sometimes they decide to hand over the reins a little bit and then the pure Chaos Power Team that is Nancy and Argyle step up. No one ever suspects they would be as scary as they are, with how tiny Nancy is and how chill Argyle acts. But that’s what makes them so terrifying; Nancy radiates fury (she’s a human chihuahua frfr) and when Argyle gets serious he uses his full height to loom over people.

What if Sun doesn't have to die for Nexus to realize his wrongs? I just came up with this What if Nexus comes to the Daycare and there's only Jack and Dazzle at the moment, Jack immediately goes attack mode and Nexus breaks him, maybe not destroy him but it's still scary, and Nexus sees Dazzle and she is petrified of him, Nexus isn't trying to actively scare her but she's scared regardless and calls for Sun, who immediately rushes in, picks her up, and brandishes a fireball at Nexus telling him to not come closer, and it is that, seeing Sun with magic threatening him, and yet the pain and how-much-he-doesn't-want-to-do-this being so obvious on Sun's face, along with the paternal fear as he keeps Dazzle close, and Dazzle, a kid, being so scared of Nexus that she's in tears, that they're both like that and that Sun is ready to, even if he doesn't want to, hurt Nexus to protect Dazzle, that Nexus has inspired that much fear and desperation, and seeing them both like that is what makes Nexus snap out of it, or at least seriously question what he's doing Because even if he has fully leaned into being a villain, even if he burned Earth and is starting to idolize the idea of hurting the others, like Lunar, this might be the thing that he'd consider too far, at least he might retreat saying some stupid threat, but after he gets out of sight range he has a moment of "what am I even doing?"

You know what, dear anon, I was thinking a lot about your "ask".. and I came to conclusion that I'd love if you were right..

I'd love if Nexus just snapped out of this because he'd realize that what he's doing is bad..

But sadly I'm sure that this will be heavily angsty part of this arc.. and that's why I think that they made Sun overcome his trauma.. so he could get crushed by what Nexus will do.. and also hopefully maybe others will realize that Sun is in poor mental state and overcoming trauma isn't enough because it exceeded beyond that..

Sun is mentally ill.. he has a mental disorder that can't be cured by simple talking.. but no one realizes that including Sun himself..

I hope that whatever will happen it'll let everyone see that Sun isn't doing okay just because he manages himself better than Old Moon, Eclipse or New Moon..

I hate when depressive psychosis which is a very dangerous mental disorder for an individual that has it is just in this in-between state.. it is a less known disorder especially when you also have even less known delusions centered around guilt and unworthiness.. but it's also a disorder not "scary" enough to be taken seriously but those who suffer from "scary" disorders - it's based on how people weren't taking seriously what I was saying and that they don't think that Sun has it "that bad" and I know that they have disorders that are considered "scary" (they most of the time only see Eclipse's suffering or now New Moon's and it's exhausting to say the least)

People especially look at you or treat you (through text) as if you had a third head when you talk about guilt delusions.. because well.. everyone talks and knows about delusions of grandeur - pretty well known because of NPD - or persecutory delusions - they more known because of schizophrenia..

But when it comes to guilt delusions people suddenly consider you a bad person.. especially when you're unaware that you has it which happens in most cases..

"I think that I'm a bad person because I keep hurting my family and I feel very awful because of that.. would it better if I killed myself?"

"Why yes ofc you should because world would be a better place without bad people like you"

I've seen that too many times.. it's not word for word.. but it's not an exaggeration either..

I'm glad that I've never shared how I feel on the Internet back when I was still very unaware of my mental state because if I read something like that I'd definitely consider taking my own life for sure..

People who suffer from "scary" mental disorders will tell you that you're in the wrong and you should educate yourself on suicide..

But they don't realize that them acting as if only being actively suicidal is a big deal is a part of the problem.. because then other mentally ill people who struggle with suicidal thoughts and ideations think that they experiences aren't that serious and they shouldn't talk about suicide because of that..

Well.. I for the longest time thought that I had only suicidal thoughts.. but it turned out that I not only had suicidal thoughts but also suicidal ideations and I was passively suicidal and I had active suicidal ideations.. which turned out to be a big deal at the end of the day..

Because maybe we shouldn't wait for someone to attempt suicide to consider that they're in a dangerous state.. maybe let's not wait to the very last moments because it may turn out to be too late..

I realized that many times people who suffer from mental disorders also take a part in stigmatization of mental disorders.. it happens especially if you don't fit within a certain group.. which is a shame and shouldn't even happen.. but this phenomenon exists and causes a lot of damage..

I'm sorry for the rant under your ask, dear anon.. it's probably not something you expected or even wanted to hear about..

But it's extremely tiring how unseriously depressive psychosis is taken.. especially when you have delusions centered around guilt and unworthiness..

If you don't fit within a certain group no one will care about you or listen to you.. which is very sad to see tbh..

all of them sounds good 👀

starting with Thancred... he and "Yda" are the first Scions Ehryu really feels comfortable with. they're the least stuffy of them all, and then there's Thancred and Ehryu being the slutty bards of the bunch, so they hit it off pretty quickly.

and my first instinct is to talk about how they're super great friends and all, but uh. it's been a pretty bumpy road, because like... for so long, every time they started to get genuinely close, he would go and get possessed, or Flow'd, or summoned to the First, and then by the time they meet up again they've both changed so much. especially Thancred, and especially in the case of getting summoned to the First (five years!!!!).

it's the kind of thing where they come out stronger for it though? they don't ever feel the need to tiptoe around each other, so they might have a fight, but they work it out, and they know where the other stands, and they unfailingly trust each other. and none of the catastrophic events since Shadowbringers have conspired to upheave their relationship again, so they've been really solid for a good long time now.

about that "they might have a fight," i'm mostly thinking of Ryne there loooolll. Ehryu shows up and is aghast at how she sees Thancred treating her, and the fact that he's calling her Minfilia, and as soon as Ryne is out of earshot, gets into a shouting match with him. (and on one hand, she has a point, but she's also making snap judgements without having been there long enough to understand.)

she just immediately feels so emotionally protective of Ryne. big sister mode activate. the first chance she gets to talk to Ryne alone, she asks about the name thing, and Ryne assures her it’s fine and it’s the only name she knows anyway, and Ehryu doesn’t really believe her that it’s fine, but doesn't push it. (well. she goes to Thancred to push it with him instead. 🤷‍♀️) and even though Ryne is dealing with so much self-doubt and doesn't necessarily think she deserves it at first... it feels nice that Ehryu so clearly cares. and Ehryu doesn't really stop worrying about her until after the Eden raids.

she's really good at making friends with teenagers lmao.

going back to OG Minfilia... like I said when talking about Krile, Minfilia was Ehryu's Echo buddy. Ehryu's had the Echo since she was little, but joining the Scions is the first time she's ever gotten any sort of explanation for it (she just thought maybe these kinds of things sometimes manifest when you get a concussion? no?), plus it's the beginning of her experiences with Hydaelyn. so she and Minfilia get to bond and be emotional support for each other over that early on. Ehryu trusts Minfilia so deeply — the only reason Ehryu ever trusts Hydaelyn pre-Endwalker is because Minfilia does. and Minfilia has so much faith in Ehryu in return!!! she knows more than anyone else, even before the Word of the Mother stuff, that Ehryu is destined for great things.

then after losing her, Ehryu started bottling her feelings up a lot more. 8’) plus she feels super guilty for not getting Minfilia out of the banquet safely after everyone trusted her to, even though it was Minfilia’s choice... she was really glad to be able to get closure on the First. :')
