I'm sorry but the irony of Nico calling Max unprofessional is sending me so bad like sir there's an entire garage full of people, who were literally in the trenches trying to survive the Brocedes fallout while just doing their jobs, who might have a few things to say about your (& Lewis') level of professionalism at that time 😭✋️

#f1 #formula 1 #formula one #max verstappen #nico rosberg #lewis hamilton #brocedes #like niki lauda had to try multiple times to literally parent trap them to try and get them on speaking terms it never worked #because one would arrive they'd see the other and the other would leave #& if i remember correctly the garage crew would swap around from race to race as a like see we aren't favouring anybody gesture 😭#and thats no shade to nico because it was both of them contributing to that environment #his comment re max is just making me laugh #like if i was a part of the pr/media team - which is a part of the degree I'm working on irl - at merc that year i would've lost the plot #like its insane reflecting on it nearly a decade later but the poor souls just trying to do their job in the eye of that storm #truly gods strongest soldiers #ngl the professional comment irks me a bit because its not like max is engaging in inappropriate work place behaviour #he's engaging in another aspect of racing that his involvement raises awareness of & that makes racing more accessible #& we all know how inaccessible not only getting into racing is but also to continue to pursue the further along you go #theres so many stories of 1 sibling giving up racing so the other can keep going because the family can't afford for them both to race #its a huge financial strain & we only see a handful of drivers talk about that & try to do something to change it #and nicos fellow sky sports commentators are routinely unprofessional on so many levels #additionally max had a lot of valid reasons to be annoyed at his team today #but alas he's not english so he's ungrateful #i hate that drivers can't criticise their teams or car without immediately being branded as bratty & ungrateful #ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIR JOB IS TO GIVE FEEDBACK #you can see the double standards from sky when say Lando or George have complaints with their team/car v the likes of Max and Yuki #especially Yuki my god the things i would do to get the British media to leave him alone #this was a jokey post at one point and then became a rant whoops lmao #I'll leave it that before i write an actual essay here 😭✋️

the tragedy of James and Mary Sunderland is one of the most heartbreaking and (most importantly) human stories I’ve ever had the joy in witnessing

#they are just two amazingly complex characters #especially James but that’s mostly cause he’s the protagonist #and maybe because I’ve experienced and witnessed the burnout that comes with being a caregiver to someone but it’s just so human to me #and then the guilt you feel when that person passes (even if the circumstances were different) it hits hard #I’m also frustrated that James gets boiled down to the guy who killed his wife #the whole game is exploring WHY he did that and how much he regrets it #and how good people can do bad things #there’s no black and white to sh2 it’s all foggy shades of grey #sorry about the tangent in my own tags #i just think James is neat #like a bug under a microscope #james sunderland #mary shepherd sunderland #silent hill 2 #silent hill 2 remake #silent hill

every time i think of the soft spot checo seems to have for charles it makes me think about that story about charles calling him after mexico 2021 to congratulate him and say how happy he was that checo had his parents there to celebrate with him and i experience immediate heartbreak all over again

#deltarune #asks #drawings #asgore #spade #king of spades #spade king #asgore dreemurr #spadesgore #technically #king spade #no one asked but i want to elaborate #asgore describes colours in pairs not just because it might be the only colour theory he knows #but because thats also how he generally just sees. people and their traits #as if everything needs something to compliment #hence why he feels so out of place and useless to himself when hes not married/in a relationship #the way he describes yellow and purple are a good way to describe him and toriel in undertale #royal colours that are tied to hope but they only shine when theyre constracted against the grim tragedy that shaped them #with blue and orange it kind of describes sans and papyrus especially with how their comedic timing works #like when youre alone with sans in mtt resort the tone is a LOT more somber - colder #but when papyrus is by himself hes all jumpy and shit and he hardly seems as down to earth as he does with sans around #and red and green imo are the most important in analysing asgore specifically bc his weapon is red #but his shirt colour in post pacifist and deltarune is pink - literally a softer version of the cruelty we KNOW hes capable of #he describes it as just sort of -fitting- with the greenery he surrounds himself with and i think that mostly has to do with what he WANTS #all the plants and the greenery are ALIVE but almost toxic. meanwhile someone else most prominantly associated with red is rudy #the guys whole gimmick is having a bright red nose #its like asgore surrounds himself with the colour that would compliment the person he wants #or literally wearing their colours a la him and toriel having the same shade of blue on in undertale #and spade? hes just emo. he likes black because its a lack of colour - a lack of light #the reason he works as a good parallel to asgore in this sense is because he breaks asgores dychotamy and forces his own

Patalliro! is fascinating to me because of stuff like this. It's unapologetically gay - even within its anime which aired during primetime hours in 1982 - in a way that many later BL manga would never be, like the ones from the early 2000s which would never dare to call their characters actual homosexuals. Patalliro has actually aged quite well in this regard, there's something comforting about how campy it is.

#i still dont really understand how they got away with this kind of thing honestly #female VAs i get that - but first m/m kiss in an anime in episode THREE?????#theres also the maraich/thomas episode where they are *Both* voiced by women....advanced yuri #patalliro #i love how bancorans gender expression is pretty much explicitly to attract only bishounen #you blushed - so you must not be a girl #etc #i also love how joyful it all is #theres never anything sad or tragic about being gay - only that bancoran is forced to kill the bishounen spies/assassins/etc #when bancoran finds out that gay sex feels good after demian; in the manga he is elated. its basically a positive thing #he awakens to his true power...lol #also notable is that while bishounen youth is glorified maraich is 18 #this means it portrays being gay as an adult as normal; not a phase relegated to nostalgic adolescent periods of time #according to the NYT japan's psychiatric body called homosexuality a mental illness until 1995 #im NOT going to say patalliro changed that or anything lmao but its just significant to me that banmara get to live their lives happily #even raise children together in the manga....???#especially contrasting that with kaze to ki no uta and other manga of the time (no shade intended)#yaoi #<- for tagging purposes #obviously it also got away with a lot by being a gag manga. but still!#months later edit: want to say im not intending to moralize BL manga from the 2000s either. like gen. no hate on them.#as a gay person i just appreciate when characters who act gay are considered gay textually #and its kind of disheartening how gay-as-identity was treated as something incredulous in those manga a lot of the time #even the mere suggestion of attraction to men as a whole and not just the other male lead...yknow #this post is meant to praise patalliro for being unique in its approach to gay content compared to other titles #ive enjoyed plenty of 2000s yaoi titles despite their shortcomings lol #joseiposting #shoujo
