I've mentioned it before, but it's nice that even q!Cellbit has already made it clear. If there is one word to sum up the guapoduo/spiderbit relationship it is definitely: trust.

They know each other's nature, there are no ulterior motives and MUCH LESS intentions to hurt each other. They have shown their love in their own way: intensely, honestly and so many, many times that I just don't see room for doubt.

Ppl in certain fandom spaces really do stay being like “we should be allowed to witch-hunt ban everything we find problematic wait why are people witch-hunting me??” without once seeing what a dangerous and ultimately pointless line of thinking this is because…there will always be ppl who don’t like you. There will always be stuff you do or like or engage in that annoys or makes other people uncomfortable. There will always be ppl who don’t need a reason or won’t give you a reason either. Saying “well I’m doing everything right!” won’t cut it for everyone. There will still be at least one person who doesn’t like you.

Attempting to harass and bully ppl out of your fandom for things you don’t like, and insisting this is an acceptable attitude to have instead of using the block tool a god intended, is just asking for a completely dead fandom space. Because if you can wake up and do it to someone else for offending you, then there’s someone who can wake up and do it to you.

I am a pretty basic and predictable bitch when it comes to shipping. I always ship me some April X Casey in just about every universe.

As a child watching the OG cartoon, I was so moved when Mikey and Kala had to say goodbye to each other, I have been shipping them ever since. I have a 2003 version and a Bayverse version of Kala, but both are humans from Earth instead of being from Dimension X.

And then I kiiiinda ship 2003 Leo and Karai. But not in the happily ever after sense. More in the 'there were feelings and it was complicated and we had to go our own ways' sense.

And then, of course, my ultimate blorbo, Mona Lisa. I will ship my lizard girlfriend with any turtle at any time in any universe. She is my emotional support character and seeing her care about the boys whether platonically or romantically and them caring about her just brings sunshine and warm fuzzies into my life.

Though I do want to stress I'm not one of those people that can't handle when others have different likes or pairings than I do. If you have different OTPs we can still be friends. If you have OCs, we can still talk about turtles together. I am a 'let people enjoy things' type of person and not about trying to ruin anyone else's good time with my personal preferences.

Omg I've been a soldier of a few fandoms, and I think life would be so much easier for Charles/Max/Lestappen fans if people just acknowledged the most popular ships and characters always get hate for a variety of reasons. It doesn't matter what the ship is or what the fandom or if it's fictional tv/movies or rpf. It's always the same. Like it's okay fellow lestappies. Just let the haters hate. I promise it's not personal or lestappen specific and it would be the same exact pattern no matter which ship or drivers were on top. Just curate your space and ignore it.

I've gone through a few fandoms where I liked the most popular ship, some where I liked a rarer pair, and one fun time where the most popular ship got overtaken by another ship. Everyone: just do your own thing. You can't change fandom behavior patterns.

Yeah, usually if I am in a fandom and my ship isn't the main one I just play in my corner and when I hear screaming I go "welp that's the main ship doing main ship things" and carry on with my rare pair.

And I have 100% been on the flip-side when I am on board with the main ship (now I am a multi shipper so I always have a rarer pair to keep me sane)

It is harder when it's RPF because that's already a contentious topic with the uninitiated. That makes lestappen a perfect storm for drawing ire.

I will say that yes, let the haters hate, but you don't have to put up with harassment/hate on posts you make, and you should block anyone who makes you feel bad for enjoying your ship. No amount of discourse will change people's mind. There is just a bug sometimes in our social brains that wants to hate what is most popular because it seems cool to do that.
