You started the week, feeling like you could take on the world. You made a plan, things seemed to be going well enough at work, it was as if nothing could bring you down from your high. Except there was something and that feeling of invincibility didn’t last very long unfortunately. After the games on Sunday, you could feel it in Joe too. The tension in the household was prevalent, making it hard to keep up the peppy act when you weren’t feeling in very high spirits either. Sure, you were used to your mood sometimes feeling low, able to push through the week while you looked forward to the weekend. This week just felt particularly tough. Everything felt like an uphill battle, getting yourself out of bed, managing your workload with being back in the office, and keeping the house together. Joe had been busy himself with some meetings about changes to the team, putting in long days at the facility and drowning himself in workouts at the gym or film in his office. You knew this was typical for him, but with your current state it felt like the world was closing in around you.
As if the tension at home wasn’t enough, you had to hear it from your coworkers, the guys specifically, about the Bengals not making the playoffs. It was as if they knew exactly what they were doing, feigning for a rise out of you. The feeling of your skin heating everytime it comes up while trying to maintain your composure. You knew Joe tried his hardest to get them to even have a possible chance, realizing other people didn’t think the same way. Your social media was flooded too from “fans” making comments about how Joe could do better than you, he was too successful to be with “someone like you”. Making statements about how Joe didn’t need anyone holding him back, acting like they knew him and his best interests.
It wasn’t just what people said though, it felt like anything you wore didn’t suit you. You were usually a confident person, able to brush off any negativity that was thrown your way. Secure in your style, your personality, especially your relationship with Joe. He always made you feel like you were the only girl in the world. Recently, with him being gone as much as he was, it was easy to feel like he was doing it out of spite. Maybe he was reading the same things you were and was too much of a coward to admit it to your face. You knew deep down these thoughts weren’t true, but they were too loud to shut out. You were getting sick and tired of all of the outside noise. Instead of drowning it out like usual, you found it to be suffocating. It was pulling you into a spiral, one you haven’t felt in ages. You felt like you weren’t good enough, pretty enough, capable even.
There were times, when one thing could knock you down by the knees and make you feel weak. It would shut down some of your defenses, making you more susceptible to nitpicking and criticism. You knew what you signed up for when you started dating Joe, willing to persevere with whatever life would throw at you to be the person you loved. Everything else just felt so heavy that you started to believe some of the things they were saying. If everyone says he’s better off, I’ll make sure I’m out of his way.
You tried your best to throw yourself into your work, getting as head as you were able to distract yourself from your thoughts that were swirling. You stopped putting in as much effort to your clothes, wearing anything you could that wouldn’t bring attention to your frame. You stuck to your office, only being around your coworkers when you had to, which even then you tried your best to avoid at all costs.
As the week went on, Joe started to be around more which made him harder to avoid. Things were finally ironing out for a plan for the next season, making him more available and able to start enjoying his offseason with the person he loved. He knew he was being a jerk unintentionally, leaving early and coming home late to get things done. He knew he had a tendency for throwing himself into things and blocking out everything else, the repercussion being that you were caught in the crossfire. He never meant to hurt you, he was trying to do better and be better for you, more present even when it was hard. With the offseason starting, he knew he needed to make you a priority. The only problem was that it seemed like you were avoiding him.
Joe wanted to do better, show you how much he cared for you and everything you did for him. He knew he couldn’t make up for how he's acted or the lost time together, but he could start now by putting his best foot forward. Joe was able to see how much time and effort you put into making your house a home, wanting to do something nice back for you. He knew how much you loved his cooking, a rarity during the season due to his hectic schedule. He made a nice meal for you, cooked your favorite while he set the table with flowers and candles. He waited by the door for you to get home, feeling like an eternity before you finally walked through the door.
He took in your appearance, your clothing a lot baggier than you usually wore. You had dark circles under your eyes, your shoulders were dropped low and were visibly shrinking into yourself. His heart was cracking in two, not being able to shake the feeling like he was the one that did this to you. If he was around more, gave you more of his attention. He could only hope that thing would go up from here.
“Hi hunny, I made us some dinner. I hope you’re hungry, it’s your favorite,” Joe said, opening his arms to embrace you. You stepped into his arms, lightly wrapping your arms around his waist. It was nothing compared to your usual hug, feeling half-ass and resistant. Joe tried to shake it off, wondering if you were just tired.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, just a long day,” was all you said, letting him go and walking towards the table where Joe had everything set. You felt tears well up in your eyes, doing everything in your power to hold them back. You wouldn’t let him see you break down, not when you saw just how much effort he put into tonight. The inner voice in your head nagged at you, telling you that you didn’t deserve this, him. You tried your best to stifle it, to get through dinner so then you could take the time to be alone.
Dinner was mostly silent, your responses were short and sweet to any conversation he attempted to start with you. Joe was trying his hardest to pull you out of this funk you were in, bringing up anything and everything to get you to talk. You silently cleared the table, trying your best to stay out of Joe’s reach. You were aware of his attempts, but you were too absorbed in your negative spiral to truly see he was trying.
“I’m gonna go shower” you said quietly as you started to walk out of the kitchen.
“Can I join you?” Joe asked, hopeful to have some time to reconnect with you. He missed you, all of you.
“I’ll just take one myself, take some alone time” your voice slightly wavering at the direct confrontation, your eyes facing the floor not able to meet Joe’s gaze.
Joe wasn’t having any of it, always showering with you whenever he had the chance to. It was something you both enjoyed, treating it as a way to reconnect with one another at the end of the day. He could tell there was something off with you, having a feeling he knew part of what was happening. You were avoiding his touch, sleeping just out of his reach whenever you got too close. You were making sure to keep your distance, though it was painful to do it.
You were stopped short before you could fully leave the kitchen. You felt Joe’s large hand circle around your smaller wrist, stopping you in your tracks. His touch instantly brought you a sense of relief, you didn’t know how much you truly missed him.
“Come with me” Joe said, sliding his hand down to meet your hand while guiding you up the stairs to your shared bedroom. He didn’t let go of your hand until he stopped in front of your floor length mirror that was sitting in the corner of your shared bedroom. He lightly pulled you so that you were standing in front of him, letting him loom behind you, your height difference evident.
“Why am I in front of our mirror?” You questioned, looking at him through the reflection.
“Tell me what you see,” Joe said, looking straight ahead, his voice coming off low and firm.
You tilted your head to the side, confused “me and you?”
“No, tell me what you see when you look at yourself” he settled his hands on your hips, his grip tender as he stroked your hips gently with his thumbs creating goosebumps across your skin.
Your eyes caught his in the mirror, feeling more comfortable than holding your own stare.
“Don’t look at me, sweetheart, look at you. Tell me all the good things you see.”
It was hard to hold your own stare when you were wishing you could look anywhere else. Joe could read you like a book, could tell you were feeling off about yourself. He was always the first one to reassure you whenever he got the chance, this time you never gave him one. It seemed like he was taking matters into his own hands.
“But you’re so much nicer to look at” you said with a light laugh, but Joe wasn’t having any of it. His eyes told you everything you wanted to know and directed your gaze back to yourself, I’m not playing games.
“Umm, I like my eyes,” you said, sounding more like you were trying to convince yourself rather than tell Joe.
Joe lightly chuckled behind you. “Why?”
“I like how they change colors depending on what I’m wearing, I can always make them look nice whenever I do makeup.”
“So you like your eyes, how they change.” Joe moved his head so that he was resting his jaw against the top of yours, using you as a chin rest though his eyes never left yours. “Tell me what else.”
“I don’t want to come off like I’m bragging or anything, not like there’s much to-”
“Pointing out what makes you beautiful isn’t bragging, it’s stating facts. Though you could brag about it all you want, I wouldn’t be opposed.”
“I guess I like my hair, though I feel like it’s too short for my face since I got it cut.”
“I like it short, it makes it easy for me to see all the cute little faces you make or when I make you blush.”
Like clockwork, your cheeks immediately started to heat at his admission.
“My boobs could be bigger.”
“Your boobs are perfect, they fit just right in my hands,” he says as his hands slide up your front and rest on your chest. You feel his breath catch in his throat at his discovery. “No bra?”
You shook your head, meeting his eyes again in the mirror, “I have felt like putting one on to be honest, felt like extra effort.”
He dropped his hands to the hem of your sweatshirt, looking at you for permission to take it off. With a soft nod, he slipped the fabric over your head, leaving you shirtless and feigning for his touch to be back on your skin. Joe moaned at the sight of you topless, he always loved your tits.
“I want you to see what I see. A beautiful, sexy woman who I get to call mine. It’s not just your outer beauty either, you have so many other wonderful qualities about you that I fall harder for each and every day.”
Joe moved to be in front of the mirror, turning his body to face me. He gave me a mischievous wink before dropping to his knees in front of me.
“I’m gonna eat you out while you watch yourself in that mirror. You’re gonna see exactly what I get the pleasure of seeing every time I go down on you, every time I get you under me or riding me. The one catch is you have to keep your eyes there, if you stop then I stop. Got it, sweetheart?”
You couldn’t help, but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. It was truly a challenge he was posing, one that made your skin prickle with heat just thinking about it. “And how exactly are you gonna know if I stop?”
“Easy, my eyes will be on you making sure your eyes are on yourself.”
With his gaze never leaving yours, he grabs ahold of the top of your jeans and pulls them down, taking your panties with them as they slip down your legs. Joe paused to slip the sneakers off your feet before completely taking the clothing from your legs, leaving you naked standing above him.
“Absolutely fucking beautiful” he mumbled, with his gaze on your legs as he ran his hands up your bare skin. Joe paused at your knees, moving to spread you open. His hands continued up your thighs to spread you wider, the anticipation burning hotter inside of you. When Joe’s eyes land on your pussy, you sink your teeth into your lower lip to fight back a groan, feeling your heart rate increase by the look in his eyes.
“Look at you, already so wet for me.” Joe licked a quick stripe through your center, immediately making your head fall back. He gave you a quick smack to your thigh, pulling you out of your trance. “All for me?”
“Always for you,” you whispered, a sharp intake of breath hitting your lungs when he trails his fingers gently through your slit finishing his pass with a short brush to your clit. Your body felt electric, his touch igniting you leaving heat in its wake.
Your comment earned a strong groan from Joe in response,”now that sounds like my girl.”
He placed gentle kisses to both of your hip bones, showering you with praises each time his lips touched your skin. It was like he was slowly putting you back together one kiss at a time.
“Beautiful.” kiss.
“Smart.” kiss.
“Kind.” kiss.
"Funny." kiss.
“Generous.” kiss.
“Stunning.” kiss.
You lost track of how many, the praises continually spilling out of his mouth. Making his way across your belly as he trailed his way to the apex of your thighs at a painstakingly slow pace, at least to you. It felt like an eternity passed before he finally had his mouth on you,
Everything felt overwhelming, it getting harder and harder to keep your eyes open let alone on yourself in the mirror. It felt like his touch was everywhere, your senses heightened. Everything he did felt amazing, your hands were knotted through his hair as you held on, trying your best to stay standing. His mouth was relentless on your wet heat, taking everything he could get from you. It was hard for you to admit to yourself, but you looked hot like this. You had this god of a man on his knees before you, his mouth devouring you like you were his last meal. You let the feeling wash over you, a moan slipping past your lips as you looked down at Joe.
Sure as shit, his eyes were on you, watching your every move. He smiled against your pussy briefly before getting back into the moment and sucking your clit into his mouth. Slipping two of his slender fingers into you, he began to pump them in and out, slow at first and gradually increasing speed. He arched them just right, hitting your spot with the right amount of pressure time after time. You could feel the knot building in your stomach, finding it hard to hold back any longer.
“I’m not gonna last long,” you breathed out, unsure of your voice.
“You don’t need to hold back, come for me. I want to taste you pretty girl.”
It didn’t take much to fall apart above him, his name falling past your lips in rapid succession as your orgasm washed over you. You rode out your high, pulling his head more into your pussy, earning a satisfied groan from Joe at your actions. He always loved when you would tackle what you needed from him.Your orgasm felt more intense standing up, leaning on Joe for support while you gained your bearings.
When you finally came to, you released Joe from your grip and let him up for air. Your hands trailed down from his hair to his jaw, lifting his chin to meet your eyes.
“I’m sorry for how I acted. Everything just became so heavy this week and I know how hard everythings been for you, I didn’t want to put anything else on your plate,” you said honestly, watching Joe’s eyes soften at your words.
“You can always come to me with whatever you’re feeling no matter how I am, don’t you ever forget that. You’re so goddamn important to me.”
You smiled down at him, following him as he stood up from the floor, his eyes never leaving yours as he towered over you. He brought his hands to rest on your hips, pulling you into him to rest his forehead on yours.
“So how do you feel now, hmm? It was so hot watching you, I could see when you really saw it in the mirror. My girl finally is realizing just how much of a goddess she is.”
A new wave of blush crept up your cheeks, you knew he was right. It was hard to admit that this worked as well as it did. You had a new wave of confidence in yourself, knowing you could take what you want, what you deserved. Joe had a way of making you feel confident in yourself, you just needed a reminder.
“I don’t want it to go to my head or anything, but there was something about having you on your knees for me. Having someone as strong and powerful as you at my mercy was a major confidence boost. I’d want you with less clothes next time though.”
“Baby, I’m always at your mercy, you're my absolute weakness. I’ll be on my knees for you anytime, anywhere just say the word. You were a good girl and listened to me though and good girls get rewarded. Get on the bed, I’m not done showing you yet.”

Klaus Mikaelson X Soulmate!Reader x Elijah Mikaelson Ch. 23
Word Count- 5k
Warnings-Swearing, sexual innuendos, Elijah being a little asshole, mention of blood
“Damon if you don’t move your foot, I swear to whatever holy power is out there I will tase you,” I growl into my pillow as I feel Damon’s foot land on my upper back.
After waiting a moment and not getting a response, I turn around on my back, grab Demon’s foot, which is now resting on my upper chest, and throw it off of me.
Damon, who is currently passed out at the end of my bed at the Salvatore’s, releases a groan but doesn’t wake up.
I rub circles into my temple as I look around my bedroom which is currently trashed with an assortment of empty alcoholic beverages and junk food. After Damon and I left the party last night, we made our way back here and while Damon found alcohol to mend his worries and broken heart, I turned to Twinkies, chocolate, and the shitty pancakes a drunken Damon made me. While Damon cooked for me he went on a love-sick 30-minute about his heartbreaks over the past century. When he was done, we tried tackling my problem but a drunk Damon wasn’t much help. Well…a sober one isn’t either but y’know.
Flashback
“Alright,” I watch from my stool at the kitchen island as Damon pours the entire package of chocolate chips into the pancake batter, “Sooooooo, what you’re telling me is that,” He points his spatula at me, “Not one, but two of the Original brothers claim to be your soulmate and that you have a piece of each of their human souls in you?”
I throw my head onto the counter and groan, “That’s what the masses have said.”
“Interesting,” I lift up my head slightly to peer at Damon who is tapping his chin with the batter-covered spatula, resulting in batter covering his lower chin, and seems that in his drunken state, he doesn’t seem to notice or care, “And Klaus was actually the one who gave you that necklace you’ve been wearing all this time, and Elijah is like head over heels for you as well as his brother,” He pauses and then talks to himself, or babbles to himself, “I mean it was pretty obvious, I mean a blind person could see how either one of them look at you. Especially Elijah, dude has that lovesick puppy dog look on his face since the moment he pulled out those two guys' hearts,” He taps his chin again, “Or was it three?”
“Demon, seriously, not helping,” I exhaust and he shrugs turning back towards the pantry. I watch as he grabs yet another bag of chocolate chips.
“Dude, seriously? That’s the third bag. I think we have enough.”
Damon looks up at me with a glare, “My kitchen my rules. My chocolate chips.”
“And my stomach ache,” I mutter to myself as I watch him pour in the chips.
“So what do you think I should do,” Hopelessness clear in my voice.
Damon sighs, wipes his hands on the apron he’s wearing, and walks around the island to me. He stands in front of me places his hand on my shoulders and leans down to my face.
“Fuck them both. Get them out of your system. We’re planning on killing them anyway so the problem will fix itself momentarily. In the meantime, go to Poundtown,” Damon smirks and then nods his head to himself as if he just gave me the greatest piece of advice ever.
“You’re disgusting,” I glare at him and he smiles.
“And you’re a prude.”
A knocking on the downstairs door shakes me out of my head and I send a kick to Damon’s stomach.
“Demon, someone’s at the door,” I hiss and Damon rolls over onto his side but doesn’t wake up.
“Damon!”
Damon whips around and glares at me, but the sunlight protruding from my window makes him close his eyes again, “Then go answer it,” He hisses.
“What if it’s someone trying to kill us,” I whisper and he runs a hand over his face.
“Pukey…If someone was here to kill us, do you really think they would knock first?”
I think about Damon’s question for a moment then realize he’s probably right.
“Fine but if I get killed, I’m haunting you,” I say to him as I put on my slippers and head out the door.
I hear Damon mutter a sarcastic “yay” as I descend the staircase.
I get to the door and cautiously open it and when my eyes meet dark brown ones I release I low swear.
“Good afternoon to you too, Elskan,” Elijah’s eyes trail from bedhead and my makeshift pajamas which consist of Damon’s button-up shirt from yesterday and a pair of sleep shorts that barely cover my ass.
“Or should I say good morning,” Elijah’s eyes move back up to Damon’s shirt and I watch as his upper lip seems to morph into a snarl but after a split second returns to a forced smile.
“What are you doing here, Elijah,” I grip the handle of the door as I wait for his answer.
“I told you yesterday that I would answer any questions that you had for me,” Elijah gestures behind me to the living room, “May I come in?”
I glance at the living room for a moment before turning back towards the suited Original, “Don’t you have your family to deal with?”
“My siblings have lived with themselves for a thousand years, I’m sure they can go one hour without getting themselves killed,” He smirks but something in his tone makes it seem like he doesn’t believe anything he just said.
I pinch my temple and move to the side, “Ya, fine. Come on in.”
Elijah’s smile doesn’t falter as we walk into the living room and he places himself in a leather chair while I sit on my favorite sofa, tugging my knees under my chin.
“Are you dead?”
I turn around at Damon’s sarcastic voice and roll my eyes.
Damon enters the living room with a blood bag and hand and no shirt on.
“Ew, gross. Put on a shirt,” I gag and cover my eyes.
“I would but you’re wearing it, Pukey,” Damon snarks back and I move my hand away and look down at the white button-up I’m wearing.
“This is quite literally your house. Go find another shirt,” I exhaust and Damon just shrugs his shoulders and then looks over at Elijah.
I turn back towards the Original who is watching Damon and me with a flat expression. His usual smile is no longer present.
“Good morning, Elijah,” Damon smirks at him, “Funny you're here. Y’know since last night you were such a present figure in Y/n and I’s girl chats.”
I whip my head around and send daggers at Demon but he doesn’t seem to notice and if he does he certainly doesn’t care.
“Is that so,” Elijah says and I back to see him glancing at me with a raised eyebrow.
“Nope,” I grab an empty root beer can that is placed next to me on the couch, from Damon and I’s movie night last night, and hurl it at Demon. Sadly, he dodges it.
“Oh that’s odd,” Damon looks down at me and taps his chin, “Because if I’m not mistaken there were talks of a certain suited Original and going to Poundtown with him,” Damon turns to Elijah, who lets out a cough, as I watch on in horror, “Hmm, must’ve been someone else then. My mistake. You two enjoy your little chat,” Damon says with a final wink to me as he practically skips into the kitchen.
I’m frozen in horror as I stare at Elijah who is staring back at me. Elijah's face appears a tinge redder than before and I can’t even imagine how fucking uncomfortable I look to him.
“I can explain,” I chirp out quickly.
Elijah raises an eyebrow and seems to have collected himself as a shit-eating grin comes over his handsome features, “Please do. I insist.”
“Well…well,” I try to think but come up with nothing, “I got nothing.”
Elijah’s smirk deepens and if it didn’t make him appear even hotter than he already is, I’d probably slap him.
“Well, you’ll just have to enlighten me on the conversation later on. I’m quite interested in learning what this, “Poundtown” place is,” Elijah says as he does air quotes around Poundtown.
“I’m going to kill myself.”
Elijah’s smirk drops and he frowns, “I’d prefer if you didn’t.”
I nod, “I’m never going to be able to show my face ever again,” I pause, “Well first I’d have to kill Damon. Mutual destruction. But that could take some time, so it appears I’ll have to postpone it,” I say sadly and look back to Elijah who looks incredibly confused.
“I can’t quite tell if you’re being serious or not?”
I just shrug, “Who knows? Anyways… you said you came here to answer my questions?”
Elijah leans forward to unbutton his suit jacket, “Yes, that is correct. But,” He looks back towards the way Damon went and I swear I saw him roll his eyes, “Perhaps there is somewhere we can talk, away from listening ears.”
“Don’t mind me!” I groan at Damon’s loud voice coming from the direction of the kitchen.
“We can talk in my room,” I stand up and gesture for him to follow.
—
“I didn’t realize you had a room here,” Elijah says as he stands at the doorframe of my room. Glancing around at the trash littered on the floor along with the bottles of alcohol.
I quickly make work of gathering the littered trash and bottles, “I moved in here over the summertime and Damon gave me this room. He let me pick out the decorations and everything,” I pick up an empty bottle of bourbon and look back to Elijah, “The alcohol isn’t mine. Damon was in here last night, drinking away his sorrows.”
Elijah lets out an almost annoyed sound, “You and the eldest Salvatore brother seem to be rather…close,” He practically spits out the word as I place the trash in my pink trashcan.
I shrug, “He’s alright company, y’know when he’s not being a cunt.”
“Language, Elskan,” Elijah chastises and I roll my eyes.
“Umhm.”
Elijah takes a few steps in and starts inspecting my room more. I don’t have much in here other than some summer clothes, makeup, and other little knick-knacks that I picked up over the summer.
“Did he sleep in here last night,” Elijah questions as he picks up a glass mouse I have sitting on my mantel.
“Uh, ya. We were watching season 3 of Supernatural and his drunk ass fell asleep, why do you ask?”
Elijah sets the mouse back down and then turns to stare at me. Or really the shirt I’m wearing, “I don’t mean to intrude. But, are you and the Salvatore brother…something more,” Elijah asks the question like he’s afraid of the answer.
I stare at him for a moment and then let out a huge laugh, “Damon and I!? Never! Ew! As if! I’d rather take a hot poker to my foot than let that Neanderthal anywhere near my lips,” I laugh disgustedly and I watch as Elijah’s tense shoulders drop.
“Why? Are you jealous,” I squint my eyes at him, and his upper lip twitches?
“Jealously isn’t something I’m quite accustomed to,” Elijah walks over to me and runs a finger along the sleeve of my shirt, “But, I must admit seeing you in another man’s shirt has stirred up many unpleasant feelings, and thoughts in me.”
I bite down on my inner lip as I listen to Elijah’s deep voice.
“What kind of thoughts?”
Elijah pulls lightly on the collar of my shirt making me stumble at bit into him, “Thoughts like how much I’d like to rip this shirt off you and burn it and never let another man’s clothing touch you ever again.”
Oh Good Lord.
I open and close my mouth, “I’ll go umm… change if that’s what you want?”
I gesture to my closest and Elijah smirks proudly, “I’d appreciate that highly, Elskan.”
I nod and quickly run to my walk-in closet throw off Damon’s shirt and grab one of my dark blue Henleys.
I exit the closet to find Elijah lounging in my armchair, strumming through “The Duke and I.”
Shit.
Elijah, noticing my presence, lifts his head from the book and eyes my new attire.
“Good girl.”
Jesus Fucking Christ I’m going to-
“Stop doing that,” I stutter out as I point a finger at him.
Elijah tilts his head, quite adorably, “I’m not sure what you mean?”
I sit on the edge of my bed, across from the chair, and glare at him, “You know exactly what you’re doing. That whole smirking, flirting thing you’re doing.”
Elijah leans back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other, “Once again, Elskan,” He locks eyes with me, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
I glare at him until a shit-eating smirk comes back onto his face.
“See! There it is,” I turn around and grab a pillow and throw it at him, “Jerk!”
Elijah catches the pillow easily, and a warm laugh escapes him.
“It appears I’ve got to work on my flirting skills. It has been quite some time since I’ve tried wooing a woman,” Elijah tells me and I try to look anywhere but him.
“You don’t have to woo me,” I say as I play with the hem of my shirt.
“On the contrary, my love, yes I do. Not just as your soulmate,” I pick up my head at his words, “But as a man who is hugely infatuated with you.”
“You’re only feeling things for me because of our bond, or whatever it is. If there wasn’t a bond you wouldn’t have even looked in my direction that day with Rose.”
Elijah stands from his chair and comes to stand before me, he reaches his hand down and grabs my chin, so I have to look up at him.
“Let me assure you, bond or no bond, that a beauty like yours is one that not even the darkest of nights can hide away. You are the sun to me, Elskan. And maybe, yes, the bond is what led me to you, but the woman you are is what has made me wholeheartedly obsessed with you. In my many years of living, I have rarely come across a soul like yours. One so…pure. You’re full of this light that somehow has kept shining even when everything around you has tried to snuff it out. I have seen the heart you have with others and can only hope that one day I may be given the opportunity to be let into it as well.”
I stare up at the breathtaking man before me. My mind seems to go blank as I stare into his deep brown eyes, eyes that are filled with such longing and heartbreaking devotion.
“You truly can’t think all that of me. You’ve only known me for a few months, Elijah,” I shake my head out of his hold and he lets out a sound of disagreement.
“Elska-...Y/n,” Elijah draws my attention to him as he comes to kneel in front of me. Now it’s my turn to look down at him as he reaches his hands up and gestures for me to take them. I release a breath as I place my hands into his.
“For one thousand years, I have fought with my humanity. I have done horrendous things in the name of my family. For years I lived with this self-hatred, never thinking that one day I might be able to calm this storm I feel inside of my mind,” Elijah looks to be in pain as he seems to be thinking back to something, “But then,” His scorned look lightens as he locks eyes with me and his upper lip lifts into a smile, “I felt my heart lighten. I locked eyes with a beautiful y/e/c the day Rose-Marie called me about the doppelganger, and for the first time in a millennium that storm settled. All my mind could focus on was the angel in front of me. Seeing you gave me this sense of, calmness. As if everything I had ever done before that day meant nothing. I’d lived for a thousand years, but the moment you looked at me,” Elijah lifts my hands to his lips and presses a kiss to my inner wrist, “I became alive. That is what you are to me, Y/n. You are my life. My immortality.”
Elijah continues, “And you may say I don’t know anything about you, and you may be right. But here are some things I do know. I know that you love learning and reading,” Elijah smirks to himself, “Even if the literature you read is just sex,” Elijah releases a laugh at my horrified expression, “After I had seen what books you have in your collection. I spent my time buying my own copies and reading each of them.”
I shake my head, “Why, though?”
Elijah stands up and squeezes my hands, “What other reason do I need other than that you enjoy them? You were wary of me, but I still wanted to know everything I could about you. When I saw your stack of books I thought the closest thing to you, would be your books.”
I release a shaky breath as I look up at the man before me.
“I also know you love your family and friends more than you love yourself. Theodore is incredibly lucky to have an older sister who puts herself and her feelings second when it comes to him. I also know how you’re able to find the best in people,” He makes an annoyed face, “Clearly since you spend your time with the eldest Salvatore brother. I dislike you being around him, but even I can see how you’ve changed him. Yes, he’s an irrational insolent little child,” I send him an eye roll and he smirks, “But even I can admit his change since you’ve come around. That’s the kind of person you are, you insight goodness in others. Being around you changes people. Y/n, you are an amazing human being and I intend to show you how much I appreciate fate for blessing me with you.”
I smile up at Elijah, “You really have a way with words, y’know?”
Elijah lets out a deep chuckle, “Yes, I’ve been told this a few times before,” Elijah reaches a hand down and brushes a piece of hair behind my ear.
“How do you intend to show me?”
Elijah’s upper lip twitches and he brings his fingers down and lightly pinches my cheek, “As much as I’d love to show you, I don’t think I have enough time. And I promised to answer some of your questions.”
I let out a startled cough and nod my head, trying to act chill as hell. Oh lord, this man is freaky deeky.
“Oh ya, um, totally,” I stand up quickly and almost knock Elijah in the nose while doing so. He takes a quick step back in time and releases a chuckle.
“Okay, let me just collect myself real quick,” I take a deep breath as I start pacing my room, “Lots of emotions going around right now.’
“Take your time, Elskan.”
Elijah sits back in my armchair and I watch him. He’s back to his composed self and I wish I was able to be as calm and nonchalant as he is.
“So how old are you exactly?”
“Approximately, 1,200 years old.”
My mouth drops open.
“You’re old as fuck,” I blurt out.
Elijah raises an eyebrow, “You and that language,” He mutters while shaking his head, “But…yes. I am old as fuck.”
A loud snort escapes me and I quickly slap a hand to my mouth. I stare wide-eyed at Elijah, who appears to be quite entertained by my outburst. A light pink tinge covers his cheeks as he stares at me with a soft smile.
“Moving along…what’s your birthday?”
Elijah gives me a confused look, “Why do you ask?”
I put my hands on my hips, “Didn’t you agree to answer all of my questions,” I give him a pointed look and he smirks.
“Yes, I did. My apologies. But birthdays weren’t a big thing when I was born. So all I know was I was born sometime between November and January.”
A sense of sadness fills me, “So you really don’t know what day you were born?”
Elijah shakes his head.
“Alright…,” I tap my chin, “Then we’ll just have to give you one,” I squint my eyes and stare at him. He watches me with an unphased look, “Hmm. I don’t think you’d be a Sagittarius so that leaves either a Scorpio or Capricorn. Scorpio sounds better for you. How about November 15th?”
Elijah places one leg over the other and nods his head, “November 15th it is.”
I nod happily and then sit down on the floor across from him, “Next question…Klaus said that he was able to tell I was his soulmate by my eyes and that the soulmate thing works because I got your human soul. Is all this true?”
Elijah nods, “Like my brother I had dreams of your eyes. They gave me a sense of comfort in my moments of weakness. I knew that when I meant the person who they belonged to I would be wholly devoted to them. And I know for certain now that I was correct,” He smiles down at me but I can’t keep looking at him because I know if I do I’ll let out a stupid giggle. “Cool. Cool. Cool.,” I fiddle with my fingers, “So what exactly comes with this thing,” I gesture between us, “Like, I don’t feel like drinking any blood so I don’t think I’ve developed your hunger. And I’m not like super strong or fast so…that sucks.”
Elijah leans forward in his seat, “From what I’ve read over the years about the bond, you will not have to worry about developing a taste for blood. Nor, will you experience my speed or strength. There isn’t much about soulmates but what some witches have suspected is that when one of of feels a strong emotion, such as pain, our counterpart will also feel it.”
At his comment, I frown.
“Wait. Pain?” Elijah frowns deeply, “I would never want you to feel any pain because of me, Elskan.”
“While you were daggered…I got these strong pains in my chest. It would hurt so bad that sometimes I would pass out. Was that because of the bound?”
“Why did you never tell me about this?”
At Elijah’s concerned tone, I shrug.
“It’s not like we’ve had much time to hang out since you’ve been undaggered, dude.”
Elijah sighs and nods, “It is possible that is the reason.”
“Oh my god,” I jump up slightly, “During the ritual when you guys were trying to kill your brother,” Elijah slightly flinches at the recollection, “I felt like I was having a heart attack and I had blood gushing from my chest. Alaric said it was like I was dying, and honestly it felt like I was,” I cringe, “Was that the bond with Klaus?”
Elijah has a look of horror on his face, “I didn’t know I caused you such pain,” He stands up and rubs a hand over his face, “Elskan, I understand if you never forgive me, but you must know how truly sorry I am. I never wanted this to-.”
“Woah, Elijah. Chill,” I stand up and hold my hands up, “I don’t blame you for what happened. Like at all. I’m just relieved that I have an explanation for what was happening. You have no idea how many medical bills I racked up on Damon’s credit card for all the doctor’s appointments that we went to. I thought I was like actually dying from some unknown disease.”
Elijah looks at me with an odd look, “So you don’t hate me? And also…Damon went with you to the doctor’s?”
I nod, “Ya…it was a weird summer. Many trips upstate. Many diner stops with him as well. If you think his presence is a lot when you’re out in public with him, imagine being stuck in a car with him for hours,” I shiver.
“I will make sure to talk to him and have him send me the bills for your medical expenses so I can take responsibility for it.”
I shake my head and laugh, “Don’t worry about it, Lijah. I like draining him for his money, it pisses him off. Which gives me joy.”
Elijah’s dark mood seems to lighten at my joke.
“Do you have any other questions for me?”
“Ummm. Nope.”
Elijah raises an eyebrow in skepticism, “Really? You don’t seem so sure.”
“Well…there is one question that has been nagging at me,” I look at the wall in front of me and pretend to find the wood interesting.
“And what question would that be?”
“Um, well… I know you like to flirt or whatever, but um…soulmates is kinda a big thing if you didn’t know,” I look back to him and he nods.
“I did know.”
“Well, what exactly do you expect to happen here,” I gesture between him and I.
A look of realization comes over Elijah’s face as he realizes my apprehension.
Elijah releases a breath and stands up. I stand silently as he walks over to me with a soft smile on his face.
“I understand your confusion here. But, I want you to know this, Elskan,” Elijah uses his hand to brush my hair off my shoulder, “I will accept whatever you want. I have waited for you a thousand years, to be in your presence is enough for me. If you want a friend, then I will be a friend. Or,” He lets out a soft breath, “If one day you decide you would like to explore something…deeper. Then I’d be incredibly happy as well. I don’t want you to feel rushed or uncomfortable. So, whatever you decide, I will agree.”
A warmth flows through my chest at his confession.
I try to push back my smile but I can’t seem to help it as I look at the nervous look on his face.
“I’d like a friend,” I say and Elijah seems almost a bit upset.
“Then a friend I will be,” Elijah agrees.
“But…if in the future, after we get to know each other better,” Elijah's eyes widen slightly at what I’m saying, “Maybe we could revisit the idea of something…more.”
Elijah’s smile widens enough to where I can see his slight dimples, “I would like that…very much.”
“Great,” I bite my lip nervously.
“Great,” Elijah responds.
Elijah and I seem to be stuck in a staring contest until a chime from my phone interrupts us.
“Sorry,” I mutter as I pull my phone from my pocket. I frown as I read the text from Matt Donovan.
“What’s wrong?” I look up at Elijah after hearing his concerned voice.
“Someone called in sick for work and Matt needs me to come in and cover her shift,” I groan at the thought of going to work today.
“You have a job?”
“Sadly. But, if I want to pay for college I’m going to need to save up money,” I sigh as I walk over to my desk and start putting some mascara on.
“I’d pay for your college. You don’t need to worry about work,” Elijah’s comment has me turning over my shoulder to look at him.
“Like a sugar daddy?”
Elijah looks incredibly confused, “A what?”
I think it over a moment before shaking my head, “Never mind. But, I would never take your money.”
Elijah shakes his head, “You’re the only one I’d want to spend it on.”
I roll my eyes trying to hide the effect his words are having on me.
“That’s usually not how one friend talks to another,” I jest.
I turn back towards my mirror, that sits on my desk, and I put on some concealer. In the mirror I see Elijah behind me walk up towards me.
“And how exactly do friends talk to one another,” Elijah says and I smirk as I continue blending in my makeup. I feel him stand behind me and pull slightly on a piece of my hair that is hanging down my back. I turn to glare at him and see him smiling at me like the devil.
“Now I see where Kol gets it from,” I snark and Elijah releases a sound of annoyance.
“Please never compare me to my younger brother again,” Elijah says as he wraps a piece of my hair around his finger and twirls it.
I finish up my makeup, stand back up, and face Elijah who smiles down at me.
“Ok…first rule of us being just friends. You’ve got to stop looking at me like that.”
Elijah tilts his head, “Like what?”
I point at his face, “Like that! That handsome smirk you’ve always got on your face.”
“Handsome?”
I let out a frustrated noise, walk over to my sweater, and begin to put it on.
“You’re impossible.”
Elijah comes up behind me and takes my sweater from my hand and helps me put it on.
“Thanks…”
Elijah smiles at me, “What else are friends for?”
I let out a laugh, “Whatever. But…a friend would also give me a ride to work?”
Elijah smiles at me, “I’d be delighted to.”

-
“There’s a list of allergies on the fridge, if Mia throws a fit just put her in the stroller and walk her around for a bit, if she won’t calm down call me. Whatever you see in the fridge you can eat, and call me whenever! I’ll have my ringer up and-”
“Chloe-”
“and really call me whenever you need to! And have your ringer up too!”
“Chloe!”
Your aunt’s husband is pulling on her arm, trying to get her further than the front door but 10 minutes have already been spent going through everything for the day.
“Auntie Chlo we’ve babysat before. They’re in good hands,” you reassure, smiling brightly at her. She inhales deeply and chuckles when she realises how long she’s been rambling for.
“You’re right, the kids love you. Especially you Paige, they’ve missed you. Been showing them clips of your games!” Your aunt says, head tilting upwards to look at the blonde girl standing behind you, hands wrapped around your waist.
You and Paige had been dating for over a year now, celebrating your first of what would be many anniversaries. In that short amount of time the blonde had made her way into the depths of your closest circle, becoming a part of your family. It happened effortlessly, the way she fit into your life, the way she clicked with your relatives. You swore they loved her more than you at this point. This was about to be the first Christmas she ever spent with your family, and just the idea of her with all your loved ones made your chest fill with warmth.
So when your aunt Chloe called you in a crisis on Christmas Eve, her babysitter getting sick at the last minute, you and Paige were quick to agree to look after your nearly 2-year-old niece Mia and 7-year-old nephew Leo.
“Go! We got this aight,” Paige reassures, resting her chin on the top of your head as she does.
Pulled away by her husband, your auntie waves goodbye and closes the door, leaving you and Paige alone with the kids standing behind you. Before you can even react, Mia’s lower lip begins to quiver, the sight of her mother gone upsetting the small child.
“Uh oh,” you mumble, Paige swiftly making her way to the little girl and picking her up, pouting her own lower lip to mirror the child.
“Are you sad because you miss mama? She’ll be back later, I promise,” Paige coos to Mia, rocking her in her arms. She’s wearing a white t-shirt despite the snow outside, for some reason she was always warm, and her biceps were growing more prominent as she held the child by her hip. The sight of Paige comforting your niece made your heart flutter, making it hard to tear your eyes away. watching Mia bury her face into the crook of Paige’s neck.
“We’ve got a really fun day planned for you!” You gleam at both of the children, ruffling Leo’s hair. He laughs but pushes your hand off, running to the kitchen.
“Can I have a cookie?” The boy asks, clearly taking advantage of the moment that his parents’ watchful eyes weren’t around.
“No-” you start but Paige is already following him to the kitchen. She was such a pushover, always had been with the kids. Just some pouting, eyes batting and she was ready to bend every which way for them.
“Paige!” You complain as the blonde easily reaches to the top shelf, grabbing a jar of chocolate chip cookies.
“What?” She asks unbothered by your scolding, handing a cookie to Leo, and taking a bite of one herself. “Wanted a cookie,” she mumbles, her mouth full.
“Cookie! Gimme!” Mia babbles, short hands reaching for the cookie your girlfriend is holding between her teeth.
“Oh good God…” you groan, rubbing your forehead, already knowing this was going to be a long day if the kids had the blonde wrapped around their finger this much already. But when Mia giggles as Paige feeds her a part of the cookie, you decide not to care. If there was a time to spoil the kids it was on Christmas Eve.
“C’mere,” Paige nods you over, grabbing another cookie. You scurry into the kitchen, grabbing Mia from her and kissing the little girl’s forehead. She giggles brightly, clearly in a much better mood. You nuzzle your nose into her soft cheek, eliciting more laughs from the baby. The whole time Paige can’t look away even for a second, her heart fluttering with affection. Paige was completely in love with you, and seeing you like this only made her feel it more.
“What are we gonna dooo all day?” Leo interrupts the moment, yanking on Paige’s shirt. She grins and ruffles his hair affectionately. Leo and Paige had bonded quickly the first time they met, and now they’re best friends. In fact Leo facetimes Paige weekly on your aunt’s phone.
“We’ve got some ideas.” The blonde says smirking.
-
The weather is perfect, the gentle winter sun not warming but making everything brighter as the rays reflect off the snow. Snowflakes fall softly from the sky, adding to the already covered ground as you walk behind Leo and Paige, holding Mia in your arms, trying to catch your breath as you climb on top of a hill.
“Isn’t this high enough?” You ask, glancing down, worrying that Leo would be too scared to get on the sled. Predictably so, the two in front of you look over their shoulders, immediately uttering the word “no” in unison
“Auntie Paigey and your big brother have gone cray cray,” you murmur to the babbling Mia, wrapped in her warmest winter gear.
“Okay, here’s good!” Paige says, finally putting the sled she was carrying down, looking around the group.
“You wanna go first Leo?”
Suddenly the boy looks down, hesitating. It’s pretty steep, especially at first. You could tell he felt unsure, but Paige noticed it too.
“I’m actually lowkey scared, can we ride down together?” She asks, covering for the boy. For a moment your eyes meet with hers, wanting nothing more but to kiss her right now. Paige always had you weak in the knees, but the way she skillfully handled kids only made you love her more.
“Okay we can go together I guess,” Leo complains, deep down relieved. They sit down on the sled, Paige behind the boy, ready to steer.
“Wait!” She yelps, turning to you, blinking fast. “Kiss for good luck.”
Apparently she’d been feeling the same about the kiss.
Humming, you place Mia down on the ground to play with the snow, leaning close to Paige. Her warm lips press into yours, in a loving, gentle peck that let you know she wanted to do so much more, if it wasn’t for the company.
“Yuck!” Leo whines, making both of you giggle.
“Hey, have some respect for your auntie,” Paige grins and pushes the sled forward. Suddenly they’re riding down at such speed you can barely watch. Someone was bound to get hurt.
Both of them scream as the speed accelerates, the sounds echoing in the air. To your surprise they both make it all the way down safe and sound, Paige stopping the sled and jumping off.
“That was so fast!” Leo chuckles hysterically, making your girlfriend laugh too. You could hear them laughing all the way up where you were standing.
“Ball,” Mia babbles, pointing at a pile of snow. Giggling, you sit down on the ground next to her, beginning to roll one snowball after the other and handing them to the girl.
“Look Mia!” You gasp to get her attention. Her wide eyes turn to you, long eyelashes fluttering as she watches. You throw a snowball into the air, Mia’s eyes following as it crashes to the ground. Immediately she claps, a wide smile on her face to reward your efforts.
“Babe it’s your turn,” Paige’s voice says as she’s climbing up, trying to catch her breath.
You scoff, continuing to play with the snow for Mia. “Not happening P,”
“Oh you’re scared huh?” The blonde teases, a smug smirk spreading across her face.
Leo gasps. “It’s not scary at all! I was scared at first too!”
You roll your eyes, not falling for their games.
“I’m playing with my girl here, you boys leave us alone,” you say, poking your tongue out at your girlfriend. She scoffs loud, walking over to you and wrapping her arms around your waist, lifting you up and throwing you over her shoulder with ease.
Leo laughs loud, pointing at the two of you. “Paige is not a boy!”
“Let me down!” You yelp, kicking your legs and arms but it’s no use. She’s much too strong, carrying you towards the sled. Your squeals make Mia laugh loudly, a wide smile spread on her face.
“Look after your sis for a bit, aight?” Paige tells Leo, placing you down on the sled. You’re still giggling, shaking your head.
“I’m not gonna! It’s scary!” You laugh, the blonde sitting snug behind you on the sled, wrapping her legs around you.
“Don’t be such a wuss,” she teases, her arms wrapping over your waist. Leaning in, you feel her hot air tickling against your ear as she whispers. “I gotchu ma, don’t worry.”
With that, Paige pushes off the snowy ground, holding onto you tight. Quickly the speed picks up, fluttering in the pit of your stomach. The freezing cold air tingles against your skin and your eyes water from the cold as you laugh.
“Ahhh P-“ you scream, turning your gaze backwards and finding that, to your shock, the blonde behind you is pushing on the ground to make you go even faster. “STOP!”
Paige giggles into your ear, her arms wrapping around you tight to hold you close. Soon it’s over as you reach the base of the hill, the speed finally slowing down and flutters in your abdomen disappearing.
“Told you it wasn’t so scary,” the blonde grins, helping you up.
“Uh yes it was,” you laugh, grabbing a handful of snow and throwing it at the girl in front of you. Some of it gets onto her face, making Paige pause.
Her mouth turns into a tight smile and her blue eyes widen. Immediately you know you’re in trouble.
“Oh it’s like that huh?” She says and you squeal, already beginning to run when she starts to throw the powdery snow all over you.
“No no no no please!” You can barely breathe, gasping for air and trying to run, the snowy ground making your steps heavy. Paige, being a D1 athlete, easily reaches you.
“Oh so now you regret it!” She laughs, snow falling into your coat, down your neck, making you scream louder as the girl chasing you wraps her arms around your waist, spinning you in the air.
“Stop! Paige!”
“Say please,” she orders, her tone lighthearted.
You roll your eyes, hating having to admit defeat, but knowing it must be done.
“Fine! Please, please stop Paige please,” you whine, batting your wide eyes at the girl. She looks at you, finally putting you down and kissing your forehead.
“Wanna hear you just like that later,” she whispers the dirty words into your ear, lips brushing against your skin, tingling. Before you can scoff or tell her off, Mia’s loud cry disrupts the moment.
Both you and Paige hurry up the hill, towards Leo who’s holding his sister, bouncing him gently to soothe the little girl.
“What happened?” You ask, swiftly scooping Mia from the boy and trying her cheeks to see if she was cold. Nope, perfectly toasty from all the layers.
“Nothing! She just started crying!”
But then, studying her face, you notice the redness of her eyes, her mittened hands trying to rub them desperately.
“Aw, she’s sleepy,” Paige says, like reading your mind, grabbing the sled.
“We should probably head back, she needs to take a nap,” you murmur, trying to soothe the girl in your arms, ear-piercing screams and cries spilling from her mouth.
All four of you hurry to the car, but no attempts to calm Mia down help. She’s exhausted, plump bottom lip quivering as she keeps crying the whole drive home. You could feel yourself getting exhausted, the loud noise becoming overwhelming and stressful. Paige could see it too, the way you were sighing and taking deep breaths. So when you return to the house, she grabs your hand and kisses it before getting up from the car.
“I’ll take her to bed okay? You rest ma,” she murmurs. Relief spreads all over your chest and you smile affectionately.
“How’d I get so lucky?” You ask.
“Nah, I’m lucky. Got the best girl in the entire world.
-
After an hour of the faint sounds of Paige’s lullabies (off-key but she would never admit that) and trying to reason with the 2-year-old like that might help, the cries eventually quiet down. Leo is resting too, playing in his room. You’ve been in the kitchen, making spaghetti for all of you. Checking the clock you realise it’s been about 30 minutes since you last heard any sound from Mia, yet Paige still hadn’t returned downstairs.
Quietly, you sneak your way up the stairs, ever so carefully opening the door into the bedroom to not wake up Mia. But what you find makes your heart flutter - in the dimmed out room, Paige and Mia are both asleep, your girlfriend holding the little girl close. The blonde’s mouth is slightly ajar, soft snores escaping through. For a moment you just watch, allowing the love you felt for them both to spread. You walk over, make sure they’re both covered up by the blanket before sneaking back out, leaving them in bed.
“Leo, come eat dinner soon, ok?” You whisper to him in the other room. His eyes lighting up, the little boy gets up holding a toy dinosaur and follows you downstairs.
“Can I watch The Grinch while I eat? Please please please!” He begs, giving you puppy eyes.
“Mmkay, just this once,” you bend to his will, setting it all up for him. You can’t help but watch Leo getting snuggled up on the couch, a blanket around him, eyes wide staring at the TV. Leaning against the arch into the living room, you feel your body tired from the day, muscles aching and mind exhausted. But your insides are fluttering with warmth, no other word for the specific feeling but pure joy. Walking back into the kitchen you begin to make your own plate of food.
You let your mind wonder, and maybe it’s risky. It’s much too soon to be thinking anything close to it. But since it’s Christmas, you let yourself. Your mind comes up with vivid images of you and Paige, in a house of your own, decorating the tree - Paige the only one tall enough to place the star on top. You can see you two baking cookies and watching Christmas movies, hot chocolate in bed.
And maybe, just maybe eventually, two children of your own. There are flutters in your heart thinking about building snowmen with your little family, roasting marshmallows in the fireplace, dressing them up in tiny costumes and sending family postcards to your relatives and friends. It felt so far away, yet you could see it so vividly.
As if she had heard your thoughts, suddenly warm hands land on your waist, Paige’s reflection appearing in the window in front of you. Humming, her front presses flush to your back, fitting against you just right.
“I fell asleep,” she murmurs, burying her nose into your hair and inhaling. It’s like heaven, after a long day, to feel her like this again.
“I noticed,” you reply, beginning to make a plate for the girl as well. She watches closely, following every movement from behind you until her lips find your neck, beginning to press soft, loving kisses along the nape of it.
Eyes fluttering shut, you hum, turning your head to face the blonde behind you. Hand reaching for your jaw, she pulls you into a gentle kiss, lips sliding against yours slowly. “Can’t wait to see you be a mom,” Paige whispers against your mouth, chest heaving.
A deep blush sets on your cheeks hearing the words, taking them in. The blonde watches your reaction, clearly trying to read you.
“I’m sorry if that’s too much to say this early but I-”
“No,” you shake your head with a smile. “I can’t wait for that either.”
Relief washes over your girlfriend, as she pecks your lips once more.
“We’re gonna be so good ma, best parents in the world.”
Beaming with joy, both you and Paige walk into the living room where Leo is sitting, eyes glued to the movie.
“Yo! Scooch!” Paige tells the boy, who shuffles to the corner of the couch. Both you and your girlfriend sit in the opposite corner, holding your bowls of spaghetti and getting settled. The blonde quickly wraps an arm around you, pulling you to lean against her side. You’re snuggled up, feeding bites of food to each other and stealing kisses whenever the boy isn't watching.
“I love you,” Paige whispers into your ear, blue eyes sparkling with adoration.
“I love you too Paige,” you whisper back, cheeks rosy and heart fluttering from the perfect snowy day.

Chapter Four - This is It
“Y/N! My old friend!”
Before you can even register the fact that Buggy is talking to you, a body steps in front of you, fully blocking you from view. The expanse of Zoro’s broad shoulders is the only thing you can see as he glares down at Buggy; “don’t talk to her.”
Buggy just laughs, loud and mocking. “Yeah?” He taunts, “and what are you going to do about it? Bleed on me?”
You can see the tension build in Zoro, muscles tensing and his shoulders raising with every word Buggy throws at him.
You don’t blame him. You still remember when Luffy had all but dropped the fact that during their fight with Arlong and Nami’s betrayal, they’d reunited with Buggy, or rather the head of Buggy. It was made ten times worse when Luffy also elected to inform you that Buggy was coming with you all and helping you to Arlong’s island, as part of a deal he’d made with the pirate. He told you the two of them had made it in return for his navigation to the island, he’d get his body back.
And even though Luffy had assured you he wouldn’t let Buggy try and pull anything on you, you still felt uneasy about him being onboard.
You had no doubt that Buggy’s intentions were not as pure as he was making them out to be. He had something up his sleeve, or at the very least, he would betray you all. At one point or another.
Still, it didn’t matter because you were stuck for him for now. It wasn’t up to just you and you did need him, at least to find where Arlong and Nami had gone. And after spending the first day refusing to go up onto deck in fear of having to face Buggy, your once captain and long-time tormentor, you were sick of hiding away. You’d decided to go up on deck, especially after Zoro had shown concern with you hiding away. Buggy only had his head, after all, so despite saying whatever he wanted, he couldn’t do much.
You try to remind yourself of that.
Your attempt at not being seen, however, had failed the second you’d made your way up to the deck as Buggy had clocked your arrival instantly.
Ignoring the racing of your heart, you reach forward, setting your hand on Zoro’s arm. He pauses at the touch, looking as if he was ready to just kill Buggy and be done with it. He turns his head around to glance down at you, and you send him a reassuring smile.
You remind yourself that you were with a crew of people who cared about you deeply and no one was going to let Buggy hurt you in any way. Not to mention, you’d grown yourself. You weren’t the same girl Buggy had spent years tormenting; you could stand up for yourself now, especially if you had your friends by your side.
He looks like he wants to argue, but still, Zoro doesn’t fight you when you step out from behind him, turning your eye on Buggy.
“I’m not your friend, Buggy. And I never was,” you say, voice firm in your defiance. “And don’t think that I don’t know all your tricks. If you even try to betray us, I’ll—”
“You’ll do nothing!” Buggy laughs, loud and piercing. “Just like you never did back on my crew! You always were too helpless for your own good. All it took was that cage and—”
It doesn’t take you much to figure out what he was implying with his words and it leaves an unpleasant taste in your mouth, thinking back to that horrible cage. However, he doesn’t get the chance to finish.
Zoro is crossing the distance over to Buggy in seconds. Usopp, who’d been standing at the helm, steering with Buggy’s degrading instructions, looks all too pleased as Zoro grabs Buggy by the top of his head, lifting him off the barrel he’d been set on. You, however, look concerned, wanting nothing more than Zoro to actually just get rid of Buggy but you knew you needed him to get to Nami.
“Woah! Woah! Woah! Wait!” Buggy pleads almost instantly, words coming out in a rushed panic. “I was just joking!” He tries to excuse himself, and your eyes widen as Zoro moves him so he’s hanging over the edge of the ship. Buggy’s voice rises in terror. “I was joking! Y/N knows I was joking! Don’t you, Y/N—”
“Let’s get one thing straight,” Zoro cuts in, voice sharp. “You don’t talk to Y/N.”
Biting your lip, you stare at Zoro’s back. You knew, obviously after the conversation the two of you had had, that Zoro cared about you but seeing him so openly defend you made your heart flutter in ways you didn’t know it could.
“You don’t look at her. Or bother her in any way. Is that clear?”
“Yes, yes,” Buggy rushes, voice a blur of desperation. “I won’t bother Y/N!”
“And if this is just another one of your tricks… or you leading us into a trap. Then…”
“Zoro, buddy!” Buggy laughs, “honour amongst pirates. Right? Come on. How about I sing a nice sea shanty to pass the time.”
Sighing, you press your hand to your forehead.
“Oh, there once was a girl with tangerine hair…”
Buggy continues, but a shared look back at you and Usopp makes Zoro’s decision for him easy. Turning around, he makes his way back up to the helm, where Usopp waits with the lid of a barrel topped off.
Zoro doesn’t hesitate to drop Buggy right inside.
“Ow! God, right on my nose!”
Whatever else he’d been about to say is muffled as Usopp quickly places the top of the barrel back on.
Usopp turns back to you. “I hate clowns.”
Huffing a laugh, you nod your head, instantly eased at his silence. “Me too.”
Making his way back over to you, Zoro dusts off his hands, as if disgusted that Buggy had even been anywhere near him. You glance past him, making sure Usopp wasn’t paying attention anymore, before you reach for Zoro, smiling up at him.
“Thank you for defending me,” you mumble, wrapping your arms around his waist.
Zoro smirks, confident by your praise, but you see the soft flush to his cheeks. “It was a long time coming,” he shrugs, “I hate that clown.” He pauses, briefly, as if unsure of his own words. “Especially for how he treated you.”
The words, despite what they mean, pull a smile to your lips. Your grip on him tightens, and you lean into his embrace. Slowly, Zoro’s arm comes to rest around your shoulders, and you’re reminded of how new all of this still is. The two of you had only confessed your feelings a little bit ago and the two of you were still trying to maneuver those changes; especially since everything else was also still new.
It was hard to believe it had only been a few short weeks since Luffy, Zoro and Nami saved you from Buggy and you joined them on their adventure. Finding Usopp, fighting Kuro and the Black Cat crew, then arriving at the Baratie, Nami’s betrayal and Sanji joining you… so much had happened in such a short amount of time. A part of you wondered if Zoro and you had moved too quickly into something beyond just a friendship, but then you feel the bandages across his chest on the skin of your cheek and you remember how close he’d been to dying.
Even if most would consider it quick, you didn’t want to waste a moment when you could lose him or he could lose you at any time.
Besides, he and the rest of the crew were stuck with you now. There would be plenty of time to work out the kinks.
“It’s okay,” you reassure Zoro. “I won’t lie and say what Buggy had done to me still doesn’t… haunt me. But, I’m not as scared as I thought I’d be when Luffy said he made a deal with him. Especially because now I have you guys. Because I have you.”
Zoro shifts and you pull back, giving him the room to lean back so he can meet your eye properly. A man of action as always, he raises his left hand, brushing back your hair to cup your cheek and presses a gentle kiss against your lips. It’s quick, the touch of his lips hovering for what feels like far too short, before he’s pulling back, smiling at you.
“I should talk to Luffy.” He says a moment later, “figure out our plan for when we find Nami and Arlong.”
You nod, finally letting your hands fall to your sides as you watch him walk away, sending one last warm look back at you. Your heart is still fluttering, even as he gets further and further away, feeling hot and weak at the same time.
“Someone’s down bad.”
Blinking, you turn around, finding Usopp staring down at you with the widest shit-eating grin on his lips.
Cheeks warming, you shake yourself out of your stupor, making your way up the stairs over to him. “Ha-ha,” you huff, but the smile on your lips is fond.
Usopp just giggles. “Seriously,” he teases, “the two of you barely notice the people around you when you’re together.”
Coming to a stop next to him, you lightly nudge him with your shoulder. “Haven’t you teased me enough?” You whine, pouting, as your eyes glimmer with mischief at him. “The second Luffy told you what he saw, you haven’t let me off the hook.”
“It’s too fun,” Usopp shrugs, turning his gaze ahead to continue steering the ship. “You always get so embarrassed.”
Crossing your arms over your chest, you raise a brow. “I wouldn’t be so confident if I were you, Usopp.”
“Oh?” He challenges, “and why’s that?”
“Because you forget I saw you and Kaya,” you smirk, watching as the smile on his lips falls and is replaced by a bright red across his cheeks. “If you want to talk about two people smitten…—”
“Okay, okay! I won’t tease you anymore!”
You turn to Usopp, his face turning bright red as he wildly shakes his hands in front of him. It pulls a laugh from your lips, loud and warm, enough to pull Usopp from his own reverie as he blinks back at you.
Turning your gaze back ahead, you soften your smile; “I’m happy for you, Usopp. And I know you’ll see her one day again.”
Shoulders easing, Usopp grabs hold of the helm again and grins to himself. “Thanks,” he says earnestly, “and I’m happy for you too. You and Zoro.”
You squeeze his arm in return, smile infectious, and the two of you fall into a comfortable silence with one another for a few minutes.
Then, you catch sight of something ahead.
“Usopp,” you call, shaking his own arm before pointing ahead of yourself. “Look!”
He leans forward, eyes squinting. “I don’t see anything,” he mumbles, confused.
You frown; “you don’t see the island up ahead?”
“How do you…” Usopp frowns, but his voice trails, squinting even more before he pulls back in realization. “Wait. I see it!”
Instantly, he cups his hands around his mouth, breathing in sharply so yell out to the three at the front of the ship; “land ho!”
-
Walking behind Zoro, you frown at the sight of the village in front of you. In a lot of ways, it uncomfortably reminds you of the village Buggy had destroyed; the one Luffy had saved.
It’s desolate. Any sign of happiness that probably flooded these homes is gone, without a trace of it ever exiting. It makes your chest tight and your heart sinks.
You slow to a stop when you notice the rest of your crew doing the same, turning to the left and your lips part when you see what’s caught their attention.
“This is terrible,” you breathe, pressing a hand to your lips as you stare back at the flipped upside down house.
Zoro eyes you, before turning to the house; “never seen that before.”
“What could have done this?” Sanji asks, brows furrowed in bafflement.
Usopp hovers next to you, shuffling on his feet. “Maybe I should head back… make sure the Merry’s secure.”
Without hesitation, you reach for Usopp, squeezing his arm. He turns to you, the fear in his gaze apparent.
But before you can say anything to reassure him, Luffy speaks up;
“Arlong did this.”
His voice is unusually low, tinged with rage. You stare back at him with surprise.
“Hey, shit-hat!” Buggy calls, voice muffled through the bag Sanji is currently carrying him in. “I think we can all agree that Arlong’s a bad fish. But why don’t we quit lollygagging and get my body back?”
You scoff, “as if we should hurry for your sake.” Letting your gaze drag across the village once more, you frown. “This is no different than anything you’ve done before. Same innocent people being hurt, just different pirates.”
Sanji’s eyes fall on you, and you figure it’s because he’s the only one on the crew that doesn’t know how Luffy had found you. Sure, Usopp hadn’t been there, but he’d heard bits and pieces of it and probably was able to piece it all together. Sanji, who’d just joined, wouldn’t know. All he knew was you’d once been on Buggy’s crew.
You avoid his gaze.
“Come on, Y/N! I certainly wasn’t as bad as—”
“Pipe down in there!” Sanji cuts him off, for your sake more than anyone else's.
“Or what?” Buggy huffs. “You gonna whip me up a souffle?”
Dropping the bag, Sanji sighs, gesturing to Usopp. “How about you take him for a while?”
“Ooh,” Usopp breathes, shaking his head. “New guy carries the clown head.”
Feeling bad for the guy, you step forward, reaching for the bag. “Here, Sanji, I can—”
“Absolutely not—”
“It’s okay, Y/N, I’ve got it—”
Both Zoro and Sanji speak at the same time, and almost instantly, the two turn to each other with glares.
“Y/N is not carrying that clown head,” Zoro growls, shifting beside you.
“I agree,” Sanji bites out, shouldering the bag again before turning to you with a smile. “Don’t worry, Y/N. I got it under control.”
You hesitate, frowning, but seeing the smile on his lips and the way Zoro continues to glare at the cook, you decide to let it go. “Okay,” you shrug, “if you’re sure.”
The five of you continue to make your way, picking up the pace in your step when you see a group of people up ahead.
“Everyone! Please!”
The man speaking stands at the front of the crowd, holding a box. His expression is grim.
“We don’t have much time,” he continues. “And we’re short again this month.”
You frown when you watch a man step up, dumping a handful of Berry into the box.
That sinking feeling floods your stomach again.
“Is it enough?”
With a frown, the man at the front shakes his head slowly.
“Do we have time to get some more?”
“No.”
Your back straightens, recognizing that voice.
Sure enough, the crowd splits instantly, and you see Nami step through.
“You don’t,” she says, slowly making her way through the crowd.
Luffy steps forward, as if to go to her. Zoro stops him.
A woman with blue hairs steps right up to Nami, face twisted with rage. “You’ve got a lot of nerve showing your face here.” Nami doesn’t say anything in return, even when the woman spits right at her feet.
She walks off a second later, your eyes follow her.
A moment of silence passes, then, Nami turns her attention back to the man with the donation box. “Got something for me?”
Slowly, he hands over the box.
It takes Nami one look; “you’re short.”
“Nami, please,” the man begs. “This is all we have. Arlong has bled us dry.”
“Then find more blood.”
Swallowing thickly, the sight breaks your heart. There was no way Nami could actually be this… heartless, right?
The man walks off as does the rest of the crowd. Nami, with the donation box still in hand, lets her gaze wander, freezing the second she catches sight of the five of you.
She makes her way over in seconds flat.
“Luffy?” She calls, voice sharp. “What are you doing here?”
“I could ask the same thing.”
“This is where I belong.”
Luffy shakes his head, “I don’t believe that. This is not you.”
“No,” she argues. “This isn’t the me you want me to be.”
“Nami…” Luffy calls, voice soft. He steps towards her. “If you need our help—”
“No, I don’t need any of you.”
You flinch at that, watching as her eyes dance across the five of you. When her eyes meet yours, she’s quick to look away.
“Arlong wanted the map,” she explains, “and I conned you into getting it for me. And you bought it. I was never part of your stupid crew.”
“You don’t mean that.”
For the splittest of seconds, Nami’s face wavers. You see it, watch it happen, but it’s gone before you can do anything about it. It feels like you’re the only one who does see it.
“Take the rest of these clowns and sail away from here,” she spits. “I never want to see you again.”
She spins around, moving to walk off. You instinctively move to walk after her, knowing what you saw and not ready to give up, but Zoro grabs your hand, tightening his grip. Turning to him, his expression is sympathetic for you but firm; she won’t listen.
Usopp huffs behind you; “okay, that went about as bad as it could. So back to the boat before the fishmen find us? Sail the hell out of here? Okay.”
Sanji shakes his head; “there’s something else going on here.”
“I think she was very clear she wants us to leave,” Zoro argues.
“You don’t know women,” Sanji instantly rebuts, “they never say what they mean.”
You blink, “well, I—”
“Tell me again why the cook gets a say.” Zoro huffs, turning to face Sanji.
“Don’t you guys get it,” Usopp cuts in, and you watch as the three of them circle around each other, bickering. All while Luffy remains standing where Nami left him. “She’s one of them. She’s a bad guy. The villagers are terrified of her.”
Raising your voice, you step forward and interrupt them before any of them can speak. “The look on her face was off,” you explain, remembering exactly what you’d seen. Turning to Zoro, you look back at him determined. “I know what she said, Zoro, but she looked like she was this close to breaking down. Sanji is right, there is something more going on here. I’m sure of it.”
Zoro, who looks put out that you’re siding with Sanji, steps towards you. “Y/N, I know that you don’t want it to be true but Nami…” He hesitates, seeing the look on your face. “Usopp is right. The villagers were scared. Of her.”
Face falling, you can’t deny that.
“Not all of them,” Luffy says, speaking up for the first time. You turn around to face him, but he steps forward before you can ask what he meant. “Hey! Scar guy.”
Only chancing one more glance back at Zoro, you quickly follow after Luffy.
“Who was that girl?” Luffy asks the man who’d been collecting the donations. “You know, the one with the cool hair?”
The man eyes you five. “Who wants to know?”
“I’m Monkey D. Luffy,” Luffy introduces, voice serious. “I’m a pirate—”
“—Hunter,” Zoro cuts in quickly. Hands shoved into his pockets, he steps up beside Luffy. “Pirate hunter. We’re here to collect Arlong’s bounty.”
Sensing the apprehension on the man’s face, you think that was definitely a smart save on Zoro’s part.
The man just raises a brow. “You? I’ve seen men twice your size and with twice your number go into Arlong Park. None of them ever came back.”
Luffy smiles. “We just want to talk to her.”
“Trust me,” the man argues, “you don’t. But if it’ll get you out of my town, try the house down that road, on the edge of the tangerine grove.”
-
“I don’t know how you do it.”
Jumping at the voice, you turn around, easing when you see it’s just Nojiko.
Turns out that girl with the cool hair, as Luffy had dubbed her, was Nami’s sister. After managing to convince her into talking to you with the promise of a home-cooked meal, Sanji had whipped her and the rest of you up a meal. It was only then Nojiko had agreed to tell you the story of how her and Nami’s mother had died because of Arlong, who’d taken control of this island eight years ago. And how Nami was now working for him.
The story had left the five of you all upset in your own ways. When Usopp had solidified the fact that Nami really was working for her mother’s killer, the air in the house had thickened with tension.
You’d stay for a while, but after Buggy had insisted on being let out of the bag to the point Sanji had been forced to do so, you’d taken your leave. Luffy, and then Zoro who had gone after him, had left the second Nojiko finished telling you everything and you hadn’t heard from them since. You figured it was best to give them space, so you’d chosen to wander through the tangerine grove right by Nojiko’s house.
When Nojiko had found you.
Meeting Nojiko’s eyes, you glance at her inquisitively.
“Deal with being stuck with four men,” she laughs lightly. “Especially on a ship. I’d go crazy.”
You smile back at her, snorting. “You get used to it.” Then, smile wavering just faintly, you can’t help but add; “it was easier, too. With… you know, Nami.” Hugging yourself, you glance at your feet. “It was nice having her onboard with us. Nice being her friend, if she ever thought of me as one.”
Nojiko doesn’t respond, probably not sure how to. Still, she offers a gentle and sympathetic smile in return. It’s clear she understands in her own way.
“Are you okay?” You ask, gesturing back to the house. “Sanji didn’t say anything, right? He’s a flirt and never means anything by it, but I’ll kick him for you if he makes you uncomfortable.”
Letting out a sharp laugh, Nojiko shakes her head. “He didn’t say anything,” she reassures with a wave of her hand. “I just needed some air. I was… I was actually planning on visiting her grave.”
Your lips part; “your mother’s?”
She nods.
You hesitate, glancing back at the far stretch of the tangerine grove and then back at Nojiko. You decide to just ask what’s on your mind. “Could I come with you?”
She seems shocked by our question, eyes widening and brows furrowing.
“Only if you don’t mind,” you assure, shaking your hands at her. “I just… Just thought maybe you’d like a friend. And, well… I know what it’s like to lose a mother.”
Face easing, Nojiko frowns; “I’m sorry.”
You shake your head. “It was a long time ago.”
Nodding slowly, Nojiko shrugs; “you can come then. And we can send a prayer to both of our mothers.”
Your smile brightens at that, worrying easing from your body as you nod at her. She returns the smile with ease and the two of you begin walking, Nojiko leading the way. The grave isn't that far away, so it doesn’t take you long before Nojiko is informing you you’re close.
“Just around this…—”
But her voice trails as you both hear… grunting? She glances back at you, worried, and you mimic her expression, rushing forward. You worry it’s someone from Arlong’s crew, heart sinking at what they could possibly be doing.
Only, it’s Nami you find.
You hesitate, feet freezing, but blind with anger at the realization of what Nami was doing, Nojiko rushes forward. “How dare you,” she hisses out, barely able to contain the anger in her voice. “It’s not enough that you’re working for our mother’s killer, but now you’re desecrating her grave too?”
You notice at the same time Nami does, her calling out for Nojiko, as the latter grabs the shovel next to the digged hole, swinging it back behind her to hit Nami.
Racing forward, you grab the handle of the shovel before Nojiko can swing it down just as Nami flinches back with a scream.
Nami’s eyes zone in on you; “Y/N? What the hell are you doing here?”
Meeting her gaze, your lips part; “I…—”
“Never mind that,” Nojiko spits, and she lowers her hands when you step back, but doesn’t let go of the shovel, looking ready to try and hit Nami again. “I can’t believe you would do this!”
Nami only glances at you once more, hesitating, before turning back to Nojiko; “it’s not what you think.”
Nojiko goes to swing the shovel again, and you move to grab her, but don’t reach in time.
“You have no idea what I think!”
Nami’s name leaves your lips in a shrill cry and she just narrowly misses the edge of the shovel smacking her across the face, falling back. Instead of Nami, Nojiko hits the chest right next to the hole.
Bills and coins of Berry come pouring out of it.
Panting, Nojiko shakes her head; “what’s this?” She slowly turns to Nami. “Is this the money that you stole? And you’re hiding it next to our mother’s body?”
Confused and bewildered and definitely feeling like you’re encroaching on a moment between sisters you shouldn’t be, you remain silent, taking a step back.
“Nami,” Nojiko whispers, “what kind of monster are you?”
“You don’t understand,” Nami cries.
“Then make me understand.”
Her eyes flicker between you and Nojiko, unsure, before she focuses all of her attention on Nojiko.
“I’ve been stealing this money because of a deal with Arlong I made,” she starts, moving to crawl out of the hole and grab her bag. “I told Arlong I’d work for him on one condition. That he let me buy back Coco Village. And he said he would for a hundred million Berry.”
“A hundred million?” You echo, unable to stop yourself. “That would take a lifetime.”
Nami shakes her head, reaching for Nojiko. “I have the money,” she explains. “All of it. And now I can buy the freedom of the village and everyone in it.”
Seeing the look on Nojiko’s face, you inhale sharply, turning. It occurs to you should give them a moment alone. This news was shocking enough to you, you couldn’t imagine how Nojiko, who’s obviously hated Nami for the past eight years, would feel. Sending the two of them a gentle smile, you walk off, moving to the edge of the woods.
Crossing your arms over your chest, you think about what Nami had said.
That look you’d seen her eyes, the one only you had seemed to be able to notice, made so much more sense now. None of this had been of Nami’s own volition or choice. And for the past eight years she’d been forced to work for and do the bidding of a man who’d killed her mother and threatened her family and friends.
The thought made you sick. You couldn’t imagine what Nami’s been forced to endure.
Minutes pass of you stuck in your thoughts, until you catch something through the foliage of the forest. It gives you pause, head turning in the direction as you squint, trying to figure out what you’d seen.
When you catch sight of a familiar white and blue uniform, your heart drops.
“Nami, Nojiko!” You call, rushing over to them as you reach for Nami’s chest of Berry. Nami stands at the sight, the conversation between her and Nojiko cut short as she assumes the worst of what you’re doing.
“What are you—”
“We don’t have time,” you cut her off, staring at her with panic in your eye. “The Marines, they’re—”
“Already here.”
Lips left parted, you, Nami and Nojiko’s heads snap round, back in the direction you’d come from, bodies freezing at the sight of a line up of Marines stopping in front of you.
“A shame to interrupt such a touching moment,” the lieutenant Marine offers, voice not at all sympathetic. “I’ve heard that pirates are stashing their plunder in this area. You three wouldn’t happen to know anything about that?”
Feet frozen in place, you eye the back of Nami and Nojiko, before shifting your attention back to the lieutenant. This was bad. Very bad. There was no way to hide Nami’s stash, especially not when it was clear it was exactly what the Marines were already looking for.
“That’s obviously been stolen,” the Marine lieutenant comments, eyeing Nami’s money. “By the authority of the Marines and the World Government, I'm going to have to confiscate it.”
“No,” Nami gasps. “No, you can’t do that. It’s mine!”
“A hundred million Berry?” The lieutenant raises a brow, “and where would you get that much money?”
“Nami got that money fair and square,” you hiss, stepping forward as you glare at the man. “You have no right to take it from her.”
“No right?” The lieutenant laughs, loud and mocking. “I have the right as a Marine lieutenant, silly girl.”
“Wait,” Nami cuts in, breathless, before you can speak, as if having realized something. “How did you know it was a hundred…” But her voice trails, and a glance back at her tells you she’s figured it out.
“Arlong put you up to this, didn’t he?”
Your lips part, gasping.
“I… I don’t know what you mean,” the lieutenant shrugs. Then, he shifts, nodding at the men behind him. They listen instantly.
Nami and you both start. She reaches for her bag, trying to grab her weapon, but the Marines are too quick. Two of them flank her, grabbing her by the arm. You growl at the sight, stepping forward to help, but then the men that had been standing to the left of the lieutenant step towards you.
“Watch yourself. Or we will take you into custody as well.”
Past their shoulders you can see the Marine officers holding Nami shove her to the ground. Rage floods you, and you move towards her, but you’re blocked by more officers. Instantly, they go to grab you, but you dodge their grasps, trying to slither past them. You make it past one, reaching for Nami and then a sharp sting radiates across your cheek.
You trip over your feet at the impact, stunned, falling to your knees as your hand hovers across your cheek in shock, staring up at the officer who’d punched you. He stares down at you, unbothered. His hand rests on his baton, as if baiting you to try again.
Nami, who’d watched the whole display, continues to thrash and fight the hands that hold her down.
“No!” She screams when she sees them grabbing her Berry. “You can’t do this. You can’t do this!”
Cheek stinging and eyes watering in despair, you watch the Marines grab her money all while Nami screams, helpless to do anything. They take it all, not leaving a single Berry behind, and not offering even a glance at Nami who cries out for them to stop.
When the officers let her go and walk off, Nami instantly moves to get back up. Nojiko, who’d seemed frozen in the spot until then, grabs her. “Wait, Nami,” she pleads. “Stop! Wait. Wait!”
“Let me go!” Nami cries, fighting her sister's grip. “Let me go! They can’t do this!”
“Nami,” you breathe, staring at her in shock.
“There’s nothing you can do!” Nojiko tries.
But Nami doesn’t listen to her.
“Arlong will kill the entire village!” She bellows, voice pitching in distress, finally breaking free from Nojiko’s grip and running off in the opposite direction of the Marine’s and instead towards the village.
“Nami, wait!” Nojiko begs, screaming after her.
Pushing yourself to your feet, you wipe your tears, grabbing Nojiko’s hand and pulling her eyes on you.
There’s only one thing that can help her now. Or rather, people.
“Nojiko. Nojiko, listen to me,” you pant, tugging on her hand. Her eyes fall on you, wild and terrified. “We need to get Luffy and the rest. They can help! I promise!”
Chest rising and falling and breathless, Nojiko inhales sharply, trying to calm herself.
“Okay.”
Never letting go of her hand, you pull her along, the two of you take off in the direction you’d first come from. Nojiko’s house is closer than the rest of the village, separated off, so it doesn’t take either of you very long to get back to their house and your friends. The two of you break through the tangerine grove, breathless and panicked, and Zoro and Luffy who had been up on the roof see you instantly.
“Y/N?” Zoro calls, concerned. Him and Luffy glance at each other briefly before quickly climbing down the roof. “Y/N, what’s wrong?”
Zoro’s voice must’ve caught the attention of Usopp and Sanji because they come running out of the house too,
“What’s going on?” Usopp asks.
“Y/N?” Sanji’s gaze instantly zones in on you, taking in your distressed state. “And Nojiko? Are you—”
Luffy and Zoro come to a stop in front of the both of you.
Nojiko, unable to catch her voice, shakes her head. “Nami, she’s…” But a cough wracks through her body, exhausted after everything from the Marine’s, trying to stop Nami and then running.
Zoro zones in on you then, catching sight of your face. “Y/N, your cheek,” he breathes, voice low as he reaches for you, cupping your jaw to pull your gaze up on him. His eyes flood with anger when he gets a better look at your red and stinging cheek. “Who did—”
Resting your hand over his, you shake your head. “It doesn’t matter,” you dismiss, and cut him off quickly before he can argue. “We have to help Nami. Arlong… Arlong is going to destroy the village!”
“What?” Usopp squeaks, “he’s coming here?”
“Is it because the village was short on money?” Sanji frowns.
Meeting Nojiko’s eyes, you both frown. “Nami had a deal with Arlong,” you explain, shifting from Zoro to Luffy. His face is serious, and he listens to you carefully. “He betrayed her. The Marine’s stole her money and now Arlong is going to destroy the village. We have to help them. We have to help Nami!”
“Please,” Nojiko pleads beside you. “Please.”
Zoro steps towards you, and you turn to him, barely noticing the way your eyes are watering. He frowns down at you, before turning to Luffy.
“Nojiko, stay here. Y/N.” You turn back to him, breathing in. “Lead the way,” Luffy says, voice sharp.
Meeting his eyes, you nod.
-
Walking past Luffy, you fall to your knees next to Nami.
She starts at the sight of you, teary-eyed and gasping, but you just smile gently at her. Shifting your bag, you pull out the bandages in there. You’d originally grabbed them for Zoro, but staring at her bleeding arm, you figure it was best her wounds were cleaned and wrapped.
“Here,” you say softly, slowly grabbing her arm. You hesitate, not wanting to startle her, but she doesn’t flinch away when you reach for her. Comforted at the action, you grab the cloth you’d also pulled out, wiping at the blood.
“I can clean it better later,” you explain, “but for now.”
She doesn’t respond, and you let her remain silent, incapable of understanding what she could possibly be going through in that moment.
The two of you sit in silence, away from the boys as they figure out how they’re going to go up against Arlong. Nami watches as you bandage her, and you do so without saying anything. Truthfully, you don’t know what you could say. Your heart broke for her and the villagers and every sting of betrayal you’d felt before is gone.
Now, you only feel guilt for having ever doubted her.
“There,” you whisper, doing the last loop of the bandage.
Nami glances down at her arm and she ponders it for a while, before;
“Thank you.”
Lips parting, your head snaps up, blinking.
“Back there, with the Marines,” she points at your cheek. “You tried to stop them.”
“Oh,” you frown, “you don’t have to thank me. I’m… I’m sorry I couldn’t stop them then.”
Blinking back her tears, Nami’s face falls.
“Luffy will be able to stop Arlong, Nami,” you smile at her, taking a leap and squeezing her arm. She straightens at the touch, but her gaze is warm as she looks back at you. “We’ll help you. You don’t have to do it alone anymore.”
Her eyes fall shut, a single tear escaping her defences as she leans towards you.
“Thank you.”
-
“I can fight.”
“We’ve hardly done any training—”
“Zoro,” you huff, balling your hands into fists at your side. “I want to help.”
He eyes you, frowning. “I know you do, but Arlong’s men are strong.”
Mildly insulted, despite knowing he was right, and frustrated, you glare up at him. “I’m helping. You can’t stop me.”
Clearly frustrated himself, Zoro presses a hand to his face. “You don’t even have a weapon.”
“Nojiko gave me a gun,” you counter, grabbing the rifle from the wall you’d set it against, and holding it up to him to see. “She taught me the basics of how to use it. I probably won’t be as good of a shot as Usopp, but I can still try.”
Breathing in sharply, Zoro glances back at the crew, noticing the way they’re getting ready to go. Turning back to you, he steps towards you, cupping your cheeks. “I don’t want you to get hurt again.”
Wrapping your hands around him in return, you smile, “I know. Because I don’t want you to get hurt too.” Squeezing his hands, you look up at him reassuringly. “I’ll stay back and not put myself in danger. But I want to help Nami. Don’t ask me to stay behind when she’s my friend too. That’s not what we promised each other.”
Sighing, Zoro knows you’re right. “You stay away from the thick of it,” he orders, voice serious. “And if you need my help, call for me. I’ll come to you right away.”
Biting your lip, you smile. “I promise,” you assure, nodding. “The second I’m in danger, I’ll call for you. Only you.”
Cheeks flushing, Zoro rolls his eyes. “As long as you promise.”
-
Despite losing sight of Usopp in the mess, you think you’re doing a fairly good job.
Obviously, Sanji and Zoro were taking down most of the men, but you can proudly say you’ve at least gotten a few really good shots. There was even the time you’d shot down a guy that had been gunning straight for Zoro, to which he’d smirked back at you in response.
The pride you’d felt was imminent.
Just like how you’d been able to see the island before anyone else back on the boat, or how you’d seen the Marines coming through the thick forest foliage, your left eye was able to catch sight of Arlong’s man easily. And even though you were still rocky with the gun itself, your eye helped you see things you’d never been able to before.
You’ve never seen things so clearly.
Taking one last shot at one of Arlong’s men and watching him crash to the ground, you straighten up from behind the rock you’d perched yourself behind. You couldn’t see Zoro and Sanji from where you were and a quick glance across the park told you you’d all (mainly them) managed to take out most of Arlong’s men.
Standing to your feet, you climb down the rocks and head in the direction you thought you’d last seen Sanji and Zoro go in. Despite being further back, you’d watched them argue the entire time they’d been fighting, so you figured checking on them was probably the best idea.
Sure enough, eventually you can hear their muffled voices arguing. You follow the sound, coming around a broken down stand, only to come crashing into someone.
You stumble back, blinking, until your eye lands on the familiar sight of Buggy. With his body.
Your grip instantly tightens on your gun, while his lips stretch into a wide grin.
“Sorry, my Angel Eye,” he laughs and you hiss at the sound of that nickname, stepping towards him. He holds his hands up as he wiggles his fingers at you in a mocking goodbye. “I’d love to catch up but I gotta go!”
He runs past you in the next second before you even have a second to blink, and your hand twitches, wanting to stop him. But honestly, the thought occurs to you it might just be best to let him go; if he was gone, then at least you didn’t have to see him and listen to his grating voice any longer.
You also don’t know at that moment if you were strong enough to kill him. Not in the physical sense, but… mental.
Shaking your head, you let the thought leave you, focusing back on finding Zoro and Sanji.
Figures he’d betray you guys anyways.
Scoffing, you continue making your way forward, face easing when you see Zoro and Sanji.
“I see Buggy betrayed us,” you comment, gesturing behind you.
Sanji and Zoro turn to you.
“He didn’t do anything did—”
“What did that fucking clown say—”
Blinking at the both of them, you watch as they turn to each other, before promptly turning the other way.
You bite your lip, laughing. “You guys are—”
Whatever you’d been about to say gets cut off the second you let out a scream. A sharp, aching pain radiates from your left eye, making you fall to your knees as you clutch at your face, curling in on yourself.
Your name leaves Zoro’s lips as he and Sanji run towards you, Zoro kneeling in front of you.
“Y/N,” he calls, voice pitched in panic. “Y/N, what happened? What’s going on?”
“I—” Hissing, you cry out as the sting continues to radiate across your face.
Hands fall on you, careful and slow, pulling your own away from your face.
Leaning forward, Zoro pauses at the sight and Sanji behind him gasps;
“Y/N, your eye…”
You stare up at them, hand hovering by your face, trying to bear through the pain.
“What… What’s happening?”
“Your eye is glowing, Y/N,” Zoro mumbles, shaking his head. “It’s like… shining.”
Frowning at him, you ease when the pain lessens somewhat. Still, your heart is racing with terror of what’s happening.
“Does it still—”
Footsteps cut Zoro off, all three of your guys’ attention snapping to the right where you see one of Arlong’s main lackeys coming over. He grins wide at the sight of you three, and instantly, Sanji is shifting into a fighting stance as Zoro stands, stepping in front of you.
“Stay back, Y/N,” Zoro calls, stretching his arm in front of you.
You nod up at him, pushing yourself back as you try and bite back another cry of pain.
It doesn’t take them long to fight him. Even though Sanji gets kicked around a bit, the second the bad guy says something about Nami, Sanji is zoned in on him. With a series of powerful kicks, you watch as Sanji takes down the guy in seconds.
Zoro turns to you, sure that it was safe to, crouching. His touch is gentle as he tries to get a closer look at your eye.
As their fight had progressed, the pain had lessened. And now, it’s nearly gone, just a faint, residual itchy feeling.
“Does it still hurt?” Zoro frowns.
You shake your head, “it’s just… uncomfortable. Is it still glowing?”
“Not anymore,” he shakes his head, shifting his hands to your hips as he helps you back to your feet.
“Has that ever happened before, love?” Sanji asks, staring back at you in concern.
You ignore Zoro’s huff at the nickname, shaking your head at Sanji. “No,” you frown. “I have no idea what that was.”
Turning back to Zoro, it’s hard to hide your fear.
Brushing his fingers across your cheek, Zoro shakes his head. “It’s okay, just tell me if it happens again, alright? We’ll figure it out.”
Eased at his reassurance, you lean into his touch.
“Also,” Zoro smiles down at you, “you did great.”
His words bring an instant beam to your lips, appreciating his ability to shift your mind away from your worries and praise you at the same time. You grin, clapping your hands in front of you in joy. “Really?” Then, turning to Sanji, your eyes sparkle. “You think so too, Sanji?”
Any discomfort he’d shown at Zoro’s words to you eases as he grins at you. “Of course, love, you did amazing.”
Your face is practically sparkling.
“Would you stop calling her that?” Zoro huffs, “and what was with those stupid names with your kicks?”
“All great heroes have names for their attacks,” Sanji shrugs, unbothered.
Zoro hesitates before sighing. “Yeah, you’ll fit in great.”
You grin, happy they were (sorta) getting along.
Just then, a familiar screaming catches your attention. Turning your gaze to the entrance of Arlong park, you watch as Usopp comes running in, slingshot at the ready.
“Never fear, the Great Captain Usopp is…” But his words trail when he realizes everyone is already down. “Is… oh. You guys did pretty good in here.” Sighing, he grins at you all, sending you a thumbs up. You send him one back. “Good job guys!”
He nods to himself, and the four of you shift, falling silent.
Putting a hand to your right eye, so you see nothing, you frown to yourself, unable to ignore the unsettled feeling still in your stomach.
“Nami!”
Blinking at Sanji’s call, you look up, face brightening when you see Nami running over to the four of you.
Sanji’s arms stretch wide for a hug, but she runs past him, gunning straight for you, Usopp and Zoro. You stumble as you’re brought into an embrace, squished between Zoro and Usopp as Nami’s face falls into the crook of your neck.
“You’re all okay!”
Smiling at her, you nod as she pulls back, taking one last long look at the three of you before turning back to Arlong’s base.
“Where’s Luffy?” Zoro asks.
Glancing at Sanji, who’d been rejected seconds before, you offer a small wink when he meets your gaze.
“Still inside,” Nami answers, “fighting Arlong.”
Turning back to Arlong Park, you frown, however, at the sight of the building crumbling apart.
-
“That was crazy, huh?”
Smiling down at Zoro, you take a seat next to him, letting your arm brush against his before turning to meet his gaze.
Zoro snorts next to you, returning your smile with a softer one of his own. He leans back as you sit next to him, and you don’t fail to notice the way he leans back, his right hand falling to a spot behind you, silently giving you the room to lean into him.
Biting back your smile, you don’t hesitate to do just that.
“Thought we were going to be fighting off the entirety of that Marine force,” Zoro comments dryly, letting his gaze drift in front of the both of you. You think back to what had just happened moments prior and the realization that the Vice Admiral, Luffy’s grandfather, had been chasing after all of you as some sort of test for his grandson.
Letting out a laugh, you glance up at Zoro, an adoring look in your eye. “I bet you would’ve too,” you comment. With a teasing grin, you poke at his side, careful of his wound. “After all, you like being Luffy’s first mate more than you’ll admit.”
Rolling his eyes, he smirks down at you; “maybe.”
You giggle, letting your head fall onto his shoulder and drift your gaze across the crowd of bustling and happy villagers. It’s a stark contrast from when you’d all first arrived on Cocoyashi Village, but it was one that made your heart swell with pride and warmth. Arlong and his goons were gone and now Nami’s village could live in peace like they always should’ve been able to.
Speaking of, you pause in your thoughts when you notice Nami and Nojiko walking past you. Both of their eyes are on you and Zoro and while Nojiko offers a simple wave and a warm smile, the look in Nami’s eyes is telling as she wiggles her brows at you, gesturing loosely to Zoro. You flush, but the grin on your lips is undeniable.
You watch them walk off, happy the two sisters could have these final moments together.
“How’s your eye?”
Looking up at the sound of Zoro’s question, you find him staring down at you, chin dipped towards you and eyes dancing with concern.
“Better,” you say honestly, letting your hand fall over your left eye, covering your vision completely for a brief second before turning back to Zoro. “I don’t know what that was but I… have been noticing things recently.”
Zoro’s brows furrow; “what things?”
“I just… see things,” you shrug, unsure how to explain it. “See things before others can. Like when I saw the island… Usopp didn’t see it for a minute and we all know that the one thing he does have is good vision. Or when the Marine’s stole Nami’s money, I could see them far before I should’ve been able to.”
Zoro takes in your words, slowly nodding. “You think it could have to do with Mihawk?”
“Maybe,” you nod, the thought having already crossed your mind. “I’ve never understood why my eye looks like this or why my right one is blind… My mother had normal eyes. Maybe something went wrong when I was born?”
Still leant against him, Zoro shifts, moving to slip your hand in his own as he squeezes. “Well, whatever it is, we’ll figure it out, yeah? There’s gotta be an answer somewhere out there.’
His voice is sincere, serious with the promise of helping you. Warmth floods you, heart fluttering, and you think back to the first time you ever met Zoro. When he’d stumbled in that tent that day, you never would’ve thought this is where you’d be now.
Nodding up at him, you say; “it’s a promise.”
He smiles, and with that, you let your head fall against his shoulder again, hand still in his.
The two of you spend the rest of the celebration like that.
-
“So…”
Glancing over at Nami, you huff; “so?”
“You and Zoro?” She grins, wide and from ear to ear. “Can’t believe I missed that.”
Letting out a chuckle, you shake your head. “Don’t tease me,” you whine faintly, pressing a hand to your forehead as the two of you make your way to the kitchen. “I already got enough of it from Usopp.”
Nami barks out a laugh just as the two of you slip inside.
“Get enough of what from me?” Usopp asks, looking up for one of his new ammo experiments he’d been working on.
Meeting Nami’s eyes, the both of you giggle.
“Nothing!”
“Ah,” Sanji comments from the counter, “it’s so nice to be rewarded with such lovely laughter from two lovely ladies.”
You let out a chuckle, moving to sit next to Zoro as Nami grins over at Sanji.
“Oi,” Zoro calls, looking up for his swords. “What have I said about flirting with Y/N, you damned cook?”
Sanji just shrugs, not at all bothered; “I can’t help it. Y/N’s elegance merely demands it.”
Nami and Usopp cackle but you notice the way Zoro moves to get up, quickly grabbing ahold of his arm to stop him.
“You—!”
“Guys!”
Thankful for the distraction, your face lights up as Luffy comes bounding into the kitchen, a slip of paper in his hands. Moving towards the table, he slams it down.
“Look.”
“Oh, shit,” you breathe, staring down at the wanted poster.
“Hey, look,” Usopp cheers, “I’m famous!”
Sanji shakes his head; “what are you on about? That’s Luffy’s wanted poster.”
“Not just Luffy,” Usopp smirks, reaching forward and pointing at the paper. You follow his gesture, huffing a laugh when you realize, sure enough, there Usopp is in the left corner of the poster.
Or, at least, the back of him.
“Sorry, guy,” Usopp chuckles, glancing at you all. “Maybe if you work a little harder, you’ll get a bounty too.”
“That doesn’t count.” Sanji rolls his eyes.
“It’s okay to be jealous. Feel what you need to feel.”
“I… mm…” Cutting himself off, Sanji submits; “this is stupid.”
“This is gonna make things much harder,” Zoro comments from next to you. “With that price on your head, every bounty hunter in the East Blue will be gunning for you.”
“Not just Luffy,” Nami adds. “They’re gonna be gunning for all of us.”
Everyone falters, faced with reality, but you just smile over at Luffy.
“Still,” you speak up, pulling Luffy’s attention on you. “Good for you, Luffy! That’s the first step to being the King of the Pirates!”
He sends you a thumbs up, as the rest groan.
“What have we talked about,” Nami frowns at you. “You don’t need to encourage him anymore than he already encourages himself.”
You just shrug, grinning.
“Besides,” Luffy shrugs, “it doesn't matter. Because we are not staying in the East Blue.”
Staring up at all of you, he grins;
“We’re going to the Grand Line.”
-
“Straw Hats! All hands on deck for a cast-off ceremony.”
Listening to Luffy’s order, you step out onto deck behind Zoro, raising a brow when you see Luffy, Nami and Sanji already gathered around a barrel.
Usopp’s the last to arrive, and the second he comes to a stop, Sanji raises his leg, placing it on the edge of the barrel.
“I’m gonna find the All Blue,” he promises, and your heart starts with realization of what’s happening.
Luffy follows his lead with ease, slamming his leg on the barrel with a bit more force. “I’m gonna be King of the Pirates!”
Zoro shifts next to you, smiling wide, and then, he does the same. “I’m gonna be the world’s greatest swordsman.”
“I’m gonna draw a map of the world,” Nami promises, raising her leg as she smiles at you all.
“I…” Usopp hesitates, shifting, before raising his leg. “Am gonna be a brave warrior of the sea!”
Laughter echoes, and then, everyone’s eyes shift to you. Hesitating similarly to Usopp, you glance at the barrel and then each of your friends.
Feeling your heart flutter with excitement, you raise your leg, taking up the last bit of space left on the barrel.
“I’m gonna discover the truth about my eye!” You promise, biting your lip.
You glance at everyone, grinning, until your eyes fall on Zoro who smiles back at you with pride.
“This is it, crew,” Luffy calls, “The Grand Line.”
He pauses, meeting each and every one of your eyes, before, his raises his hand to the sky and screams;
“Nothing’s gonna stand in our way! Yeah!”
Without hesitation, you lean back, inhaling sharply before letting out a bellow of; “Woohoo!”

pile 1: this pile just screams emotional reconfiguration via divine realignment to me. you've been mentally stalled for a while, caught in some kind of loop between head and heart. but taurus season is here to help you with some tough love, obliterating this imprisoning comfort zone you have created for yourself so far. it's time to step onto better things rather than bedrot (yes it's finally time to leave that cocoon of yours). three of cups so it's connection, community and joy time. you will be FINALLY forced to leave your bedroom and talk to people YAY
you might find yourself being exhausted after spending so much time socializing (not too used to it, are you?) so don't force yourself to go out if you don't want to and take some rest but don't make it a constant thing like you're used to do. it is a great time for healing overall, especially for what concerns the way you connect with others and what you expect from them and viceversa.
blessings: omg something long term is brewing here with the ten of pentacles and i think it could be a relationship due to the two of cups being present. it could also be a career or a project or emotional security that finally lasts. you're also going to be finally feeling stronger, you might even notice some improvements health wise or routine wise. could also sign up for a new sport or the gym or whatever, great month overall. enjoy it!
challenges for this season: there's a bit of a tunnel vision here about this urge to act and push forward, you might find this a stressful month because you will be putting a lot of pressure onto yourself. zero chill at all. with the eight of wands reversed, it's like the universe is throwing up traffic cones and saying not yet. plans stall, messages don’t send, some objects could be breaking. you feel like you're shouting into the void. and the more you try to force it, the more things just don't budge lmaooo this season is here to test your patience babe. slow your roll and be okay with divine detours, most of the time they're there for a reason, the universe might be trying to protect you from something. a lesson in stillness.
pile 2: someone girlblossed too close to the sun here during aries season. this might not be relatable to each and every single one of you but i feel like that you might have been building something only to watch it fall so that you could build something better (could be the end of a relationship, a career change, a new project, a shitty turn of events and so on). you have been holding it down in the meanwhile, making great money moves and decisions for yourself. looks like you’re outgrowing the version of success you thought you wanted, the ace of pentacles and three of pentacles say a new path is being planted, slowly, with actual collaborators this time. people who get your vision and most importantly, you. two of wands adds a little restlessness, like you’re staring out the window of your penthouse wondering if there's something more. good news: there is. things can always get EVEN better.
what's blossoming for you: a calm transition, think clean breaks, peaceful exits, soft landings. you are being guided into your queen of wands era. stepping back into your magnetic, powerful, slightly smug self. people are noticing. you're in your main character era again, and you didn't even have to try that hard. you might find yourself getting sexier and prettier this month. it's glow up time.
challenges for this season: you could find yourself being obsessed with structure and control, you're clinging so hard to structure that anything spontaneous, emotional, or vulnerable feels like a threat. you could refuse to relax and bottle all your emotions deep inside you until you simply explode. some of you might have assimilated one of my favorite sayings too close to your heart: "freedom is being in charge of your own destruction" which is true, but does it really have to happen? that's up to you to decide. my advice is to not bottle everything up, don't repress your anger or sadness, find a way in which you feel safe to express those emotions. let it all out my unstable princess.
pile 3: mmh, taurus season begins with the devil card for you pile 3, a spotlight on attachments: toxic relationships, power play and desires you keep feeding even when they burn you out. there could be some karmic cycles you need to become aware of so that you can stop them. the devil isn't here to destroy you but it's here to show you that you need to amplify your self awareness, think about those patterns in your life the last month and wonder about what that could be about, i'm sure there's a karmic cycle there. mid taurus season, things turn hot, fast, and a little ego-boosting. the spotlight’s on you with the six of wands, recognition, admiration, maybe even a touch of fame (or infamy!!!). you’re magnetic, confident, and very hard to ignore. give what you can, receive what you deserve.
positives: the end of taurus season could also indicate an ending for you, something unsustainable or bad for you will finally break and it will feel extremely freeing to you. out of that comes the empress, pleasure and beauty. your confidence and joy become real once they're rooted in truth, not performance. lots of people will be drawn to you but you'll be careful with them since your standards are going to be much higher now. hallelujah lmao
challenges for this season: okay so i'm going to hold your hand when i say this...as i said, there's a karmic cycle ending here and the wheel of fortune confirms it. the issue is, it will bring change you won't necessarily like. your inner control freak might spiral because it's going to be more like an inevitable turn of events which you won't be able to stop until your lesson is over. no, you're not doomed but your anxiety brain will try to convince you otherwise. you could be also experiencing some bouts of insomnia or troubles sleeping (think like a super weird sleep cycle). the challenge here is to surrender, release the fear and let the universe work its magic instead of clinging onto the old story.
pile 4: this taurus season is bringing some new beginnings for you, especially in terms of skills, passions and career. a month of soft initiation so to speak. this vibe is not dramatic, it is delicate, very similar to slow living. making matcha at 10 am, going for a walk, coming back for lunch and so on. i love that for you. taurus season is laying the groundwork for something long lasting for you or something you have been wanting and dreaming about for a while: a wish, a skill, a connection, or a sense of self. the first half of this season is starting with two pages (wands and pentacles), you're starting new routines or creative endeavors, even if they scare you. knight of pentacles brings you a reminder: it’s okay to go slow. your progress is not performative, it’s real, sustainable, and grounded. you may not learn as fast as you'd like to but the important thing is that you're learning. mid to late month a new energy comes in, a vision starts to get real. you get glimpses of what your future could be if you keep listening to your inner voice instead of external noise. your intuition is louder than usual. trust the nudges. trust the quiet. by the end of taurus season, you’re bathing in blessings. you might find some new friends or more women in your life will show support towards you, there could be also a few breakthroughs on how you treat others vs how they treat you, you could become more compassionate than before. you might even solve a long term beef with someone or forgive someone just because you're that nice. with the world as your last card, a cycle is coming to an end (in a great way), you are completing a chapter! it could be your graduation, closure, something you have been working on for a few years.
challenges for this season: hustled too hard and now you're emotionally concussed, perhaps even spiritually. you are due for an intervention with the judgement and ten of wands here, this season is asking you to put the baggage down so your real self can show up. you have likely been taking care of everything and everyone but neglecting yourself. this combo screams emotional labor overload meets spiritual breakthrough. you don't have to carry it all to be worthy. listen to your inner calling instead of trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. you might find yourself cutting off some people and that can only be beneficial. it was time for them to go anyway.
thank you so much for reading, may this taurus season bless you all. <3
comments, feedback, yapping or reblogs are ofc appreciated <3

live in gotham they say... | birdie goes to a wedding
summary: what idiot willingly moves to gotham city of all places? you, apparently. word count: 2.8k warning: none! just chaos hehe author's note: i really appreciate the love from my first post of this! so glad y'all are enjoying it! enjoy this next one I have for you!
AO3 | previous
It was a good thing you had a backup plan—at least, that’s what you hoped it would be. Back in high school, you started a small website for your photography business. You made some good money from it back then, so you decided to bring it back in hopes of starting a small business in Gotham.
So far, it’s sort of worked.
In a couple of weeks, you’ve had about three bookings, all for some yearbook photos at three different schools in the city. The money from it could only get you gas and maybe some dinner that could work as leftovers if you were smart and knew how to make it last.
Still living in your car though, but it could be worse!
Your photography bookings were slowly gaining traction and taking off. The next booking was for a birthday party. It was a frat boy scene, not too impressive but hey, you got some good money from it.
The next event that booked you was a wedding.
This, you were a bit more nervous for, mostly because you had nothing to wear that was close to being wedding ceremony material. So, out of desperation, you dug through your boxes of clothes until you finally found a black dress you wore to your grandmother’s funeral back in your junior year of high school. Hopefully, you didn’t stick out like a sore thumb.
Turns out, you didn’t.
The venue was a boat. Like a really nice boat. Which told you that whoever was getting married was loaded.
Everyone was dressed differently yet so rich it made you invisible—which helped with not sticking out like a sore thumb. Whatever country the groom and bride were from seemed like they knew how to dress and throw a wedding. Colors burst everywhere, the dresses were over the top yet beautiful and the decorations were bright and loud. Taking pictures was easy to do with so many sights for you to capture.
This had to be the best booking you’ve ever gotten, especially if it seemed like an A-list kind of wedding with as much security around.
At some point, you were dragged away to the second floor of the ship to get pictures of the bride and the bridesmaids.
“Shit! Shit! Shit!” A shriek came from the room the wedding planner was dragging you toward.
After pushing the door open, inside there was a woman in a puffy wedding gown the color of scarlet with women surrounding her as they did her hair and makeup. Everyone here seemed to speak Spanish and caught up in their own little worlds—except for the bride of course.
The event planner guided you toward the bride, motioning for you to take pictures of her getting ready. You carefully made your way over—mindful not to get in the way of the makeup and hair crew—as you held your camera up, “Okay, can I get a nice smile from the bride—“
“How the fuck do you expect me to do a heist without a getaway driver?! What do you mean King Shark called in sick?!” You paused, the grip on your camera tightening. A heist? Did you hear that correctly? The bride to be planning a heist in the middle of her wedding? No, maybe you misunderstood…
The bride kept going, not noticing you yet. “This isn’t Big Belly Burger! He’s not gonna get fucking PTO…” The bride trailed off once she did finally notice you and your camera. She had a phone to her ear and her eyes were wide. Oh shit. “Aw, shit…”
Shit, she knows you overheard her. Why the hell was she planning a heist in the first place—not the point. But this made you a suspect, right? What if the police got involved—what if she’d have you killed for knowing about the heist? How did this already turn to shit?
For a moment, the two of you just stared at each other. Waiting to see what the other would do first.
“Harls? You good?” A woman’s voice came from the bride’s—Harls—phone. The woman was probably her other crew for the heist—shit, she was going to send them after you, wasn’t she?
Think, think!
“Yeah…” The bride sighed as she reached under her dress. You blanched when you saw it was a gun. “Montez might’ve sent a little birdie—yes, don’t worry, I’ll handle it! I haven’t screwed it up yet!”
“¡sonríe para la cámara!” You blurted before taking her picture with the flash on.
She hissed, throwing her head back in surprise, “Ow!—The little birdie blinded me!—Yeah well, it hurt my eyes so shut up, will ya?”
Quickly, you moved to get pictures of the bridesmaid, repeating the same line in Spanish, hoping to show that you couldn’t speak English and totally didn’t hear or understand anything she had said about a heist or a getaway driver, before dashing out of the room to get back to the deck.
You blended in with the rest of the guests and photographers, making sure to keep your head low and unnoticeable. But of course, you just had to notice more strange things.
The security guards standing by were all holding guns, almost as if ready to shoot anyone who would step out of line. Then there were some of the guests. Most of the men were tatted and drenched in gold chains and expensive-looking watches. The gold didn’t stop at the men but even the women were decked out in more expensive-looking jewelry. Some were even smoking cigars as they stepped straight out of The Godfather.
First, the bride was planning a heist and now you felt as if you were in the middle of a mob boss movie. Just what kind of wedding was this?
“Youre living in your car. You’re living in your car.” You murmured to yourself, trying to calm your nerves.
Suddenly the groom came down the aisle and everyone gathered in place. The distant waves of the water and the organ playing set the mood of the wedding. You snapped pictures of the bridesmaids and groomsmen walking down the aisle and snapped a few more pictures of the guests before finally the bride came out.
You subtly hid yourself behind a nearby security guard, hoping to stay out of sight as she came down the aisle. She was very pretty, that much was clear. Some of her pale blonde hair was highlighted with blue and pink and her scarlet wedding gown trailed along the floor behind her as she walked. But she seemed quite distracted, her head snapping back and forth as if she were looking for something—or someone.
Shit, was she still hoping to take you out? Maybe you’re Spanish was a bit rusty after all.
Fortunately, you weren’t the one she was worried about.
By the time she got to the end of the aisle, the minister began the officiation—and yet you couldn’t stop noticing strange things as the ceremony went on.
Some of the security guards started blocking the entrances. Some of the guests began fiddling with their holsters that were conveniently hidden under their coats and dresses. Then there was the fact a few chairs were empty of a few guests a few thuds were coming from outside the double doors the security guards were standing in front of.
You were suddenly all too aware of the way the boat was slightly rocking. All your life, you’ve never been one to be seasick but your stomach was twisting up into all sorts of knots at the moment. You could legitimately throw up from being so anxious.
God, you really hated being observant.
“Harley Quinn, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?” The minister asked, snapping you back to the ceremony.
“Huh? Oh yeah, sure.” The bride—Harley—shrugged distractedly whilst her eyes kept dancing around the room.
“And Gabriel Montez, do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
You furrowed your brows at that point. Why was the minister speaking English?
Harley seemed to notice this as well. “Aw, shit.”
The minister closed the bible, “Then I hereby pronounce you—UNDER ARREST!”
And just like that, the whole room broke into utter chaos. The minister removed his fake beard and robes to reveal he was a cop. A few of the security guards did the same. You ducked under a nearby table as soon as the guns were out, the cigars were put out, and bullets went flying.
The bride, Harley pulled out two guns and joined in the gunfight. “Secure the goods! Secure the goods! We’ll get our own fucking getaway driver!”
You had to get out of here fast.
Taking a risk, you crawled from under the table and toward the double doors leading out of this chaotic room. A body had dropped next to you, causing you to yelp and look away before you could see the blood and the lifeless eyes from them. You just kept going, no point in stopping or looking back. Everyone was distracted, you wouldn’t waste your chance of escaping.
Once you got to the double doors, one of them slammed open—nearly smacking you in the face in the process—as a few more security guards rushed in to join the chaos. You took that chance to dive through the door right before it closed, muffling the shouts and the gunshots. Stumbling to your feet, you didn’t hesitate to run.
It took a moment for you to find the path leading down under the boat where are the escape baots were. That’s the one thing you remembered when you were given the tour. There were for emergencies and you were pretty sure this counted as one. But finding it was the biggest relief. They were all either lifeboats or motorboats. And wanting to get to land faster, you went for the motor boat.
Quickly, you searched for the emergency latch and pulled it down, creating an opening wide enough for you to take one of the boats and escape. You leaped onto one of the motorboats, making sure to untie it from the anchor.
“Freeze!”
You yelped and glanced over our shoulder, seeing a cop a few feet away, pointing a gun straight at you.
Fuck.
“H-Hey! I’m not a part of this! I’m just the photographer!” You tried while raising your hands as the cop drew closer, his gun never wavering.
“Slowly, get out of the boat.” The cop ordered making your heart drop.
Fuck, fuck, fuck. Carefully and slowly, you got out of the motorboat, “There must be some mistake—I swear I have nothing to do with the heist, I swear!”
The cop then narrowed his eyes, “Oh yeah, then how did you know there was even a heist if you’re just a photographer?”
You paused and realized your mistake. Okay, that one was on you.
“Alright, that’s a fair point.” You grumbled, hands still raised.
The cop never lowered the gun, “Step away from the boat. You’re coming with me.”
Your heart pounded in your chest as you slowly stepped away from the boats. “Please—this is all just some misunderstanding—all I do is take pictures—um, do you have to point the gun at me? Uh…No hablo ingles?”
“Just shut up already and stand still!”
“…Que?”
Now he was pissed—which granted was your fault. “Alright, kid. One more word out that mouth of yours and I’ll—“
A gun went off and the cop fell forward. You screamed as his body fell into the water. Now a new gun was pointed at you, this time with the bride—Harley Quinn—on the other side of it.
She grinned at you, “I knew you could speak English, little birdie!”
Your hands were still raised while you trembled, “To be fair I panicked and I really didn’t mean to overhear your heist plans—I’m just a photographer here trying to make a living so, uh, please don’t kill me. I won’t tell anyone, seriously—“
Distant voices and footsteps drew near, causing Harley to groan and suddenly push you into one of the motorboats. “Enough yapping and more running!“ She dumped a duffel bag onto the boat which landed with a heavy thud with clinking sounds coming from inside it. No doubt that was the stolen goods.
“Wait, what are you—“ You furrowed your brows as she was tearing the skirts of her wedding dress.
Harley sent you a glare with wide eyes, “Whatcha waitin’ for? You wanna go to the slammer or do you wanna escape and be a free birdie, birdie?!”
“Not with a criminal!”
“Gasp! I’m hurt! And here I thought we bonded for a moment!”
The cops were drawing closer. You glanced toward the dead cop floating in the water, knowing that if they saw that and you were in the boat with Harley, then you were as sure as dead.
Shit, shit, shit.
“Tick-tock, little birdie!” Harley shouted as she loaded more bullets into her guns.
With that, you quickly adjusted your camera and quickly turned the engine on. The footsteps were getting closer and Harely clicked her guns into place.
Shit, shit, shit.
The first few cops came down, guns pointed. “Stop right there—“
You slammed on the pedal and steered the motorboat out of the underboat just as Harely started blazing bullets toward the cops.
“HAHA! Too slow!” Harley stuck her tongue out as she continued shooting at the cops the more they got further and further away from the boat.
Night had fallen and the air was cold despite the warm spring season. Gunshots echoed through the distance but you tried your best to drown it out while steering the boat away from the chaos. Though, of course, chaos itself was on the boat with you.
“Wow, you’re good at this! Have ya ever been a getaway driver before?” Harley asked once they were further away out of range of the cops and gunshots.
You swallowed, shivering slightly from the cold. “No—I mean, I’ve driven a boat before but I’ve never done this. Boat racing doesn’t count, does it? Then again, I’ve never helped a criminal escape from the police—am I going to be wanted now? Did they see my face? Oh great, not even a couple of weeks into here and I’m already being chased by police—there aren’t going to be flyers with my face around town are there? I just wanted to get a job and a little apartment, not go to jail—“
“Wow, you’re a yapper, huh?” Harley laughed as she leaned against your shoulder. “Well, welcome to Gotham, suga, it ain’t getting any prettier from here.”
You frowned and glanced toward her, “Uh…thanks?”
Eventually, a beach came into view as you steered the boat toward it. Once you had gotten to shore, Harley leaped out of the boat with the bag of stolen goods, “You should probably get running, birdie. Them coppers are persistent little fuckers.”
Just as she said that you heard the distant sirens stirring you to quickly scramble away from the boat and rush along the beach. Harley ran in one direction while you ran in another.
“See ya around, little birdie!” You heard her call and could practically hear the grin in her voice.
Finally, after what felt like hours, you found your parked car and let out a huge sigh of relief. Only to groan when you realized that you wouldn’t be paid after all of that bullcrap. So much for a guaranteed buck. Maybe no more weddings for now—especially ones on boats.
You took your camera and placed it safely back in its case when you suddenly felt something heavy in the pocket of your dress. Hesitatingly, you dug into your pocket and took out the heavy object—only to gasp.
In your hands was a gold watch—one of those watches you’d seen those older tattooed men wearing at the wedding. How it got in your possession you weren’t sure….
A flash of Harley’s grin was imprinted into your mind and you gripped the watch.
You could return it. That would be the right thing to do.
But then again, you went through hell just for a photography job. And you needed another meal to last you more than a couple of nights.
Technically…you didn’t steal it.
And technically, you could look at this as your paycheck.
In the corner of your eye, there was movement. You thought someone had caught you as you quickly pocketed the watch away and looked toward the movement.
Only you saw a cat sitting on the hood of one of the nearby cars, its indigo eyes staring in your direction curiously. You let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding.
At some point, you pulled out of the parking lot. At some point, you drove past the police cruisers who didn’t spare you a second glance. At some point, the watch ended up back in your pocket and you didn’t think twice about it then.

Tell Me a Lie
Matt Murdock x Reader
Words: 4617
Summary: Months of hell lead you to one moment- finding out your boyfriend is really alive. After figuring out where he’s been hiding, you concoct a plan- a very stupid, very dangerous plan- to draw him out.
Notes: This is a terrible summary, but whatever. I finally started season three and I thought putting the reader in this situation would be really interesting. Obviously, his relationship with Elektra wasn’t the same, but the whole self-destructive Matthew is here and ready for angst. I’m imagining this kinda between the episodes where Matt goes to the hotel and the prison, but doesn’t really follow the plot of the episodes, just my own. This is also just a mess, but oh well. (And I know this is kind of what Bella does in New Moon, but I kind of dig it so I won’t apologize haha)
Warnings: Attempted assault, violence, abandonment, alcoholism literally looking for danger (obviously, spoilers for season three)
More Matt Imagines: HERE
-
It didn’t smell like him anymore. Such a weird, stupid complaint, but it made you sick to your stomach to breathe in the musty air of the apartment.
You sat up, nursing your head in your hand, still pounding from the night before. Not that you’d slept, but hangovers still found a way to bite you in the ass. It was getting pathetic. Not that you cared. And not that your friends had actually used that word.
‘Concerning’ was Foggy’s favorite.
He could have his concern.
You chased the numb.
Anything was better than remembering he wasn’t here and the apartment you’d just started to share didn’t smell like him anymore.
You got out of bed on shaking limbs, feeling the nausea roll over you. You swayed, wondering if you’d throw up again. You didn’t.
You went to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee to pull you out of the haze. Karen and Foggy were coming by today to talk about rent. You had to seem at least somewhat put together or they would try and talk you into getting help. Getting help meant moving on. Moving on meant giving up. Giving up meant lying to yourself. Admitting that he was dead and he wasn’t coming back.
But Matt Murdock wasn’t dead.
You could feel it.
The pounding at the door felt like knocking on your skull. You groaned.
Foggy stepped inside.
“Morning,” he greeted with his usual chipper smile.
You didn’t understand it. How he could still seem so happy after everything that happened. Then again, things went rather well for him after…
You shook the thoughts from your head. This wasn’t Foggy’s fault.
“Hey,” you croaked. You took a long, burning drink from your caffeinated cup and let its effects wash over you. “I thought you two were coming together?”
“Karen had… other stuff.” Foggy peaked around the corner, plastering a smile across his face. He figured he’d ease into the news. Especially because you looked- well- you looked the way you usually did these past few weeks. “But she says hi.”
You nodded and took another drink. “Coffee?”
“I already had some, thanks.”
He stood silently.
You stood silently. You raised a brow. “You can sit down, Foggy.”
“Right. Thanks.” He nodded awkwardly and took a seat on the couch. So much for playing it cool.
You set your mug to the side and leaned on the counter, fingers gripping the edge like a lifeline.
“What happened, Foggy?” You stared at the back of his head and felt that familiar squeezing, wrenching breathlessness in your chest. The same feeling when Claire dragged you out of Midland Circle. The same feeling when you watched the building fall. The same feeling when Matt didn’t walk out. “Is it… is it Matt? Did they find him?”
“No, it’s not about-” He blew out a sigh. “God, you haven’t seen the news then?”
You hurried around to stand in front of him, panic still evident in your exhausted eyes.
Foggy had to look away.
“Why, what’s on the news?”
He gulped. “Maybe you should sit down.”
“Just tell me what happened,” you scoffed. The sound came out as a nervous laugh, but on the inside, you were screaming.
His blue eyes met yours.
“Wilson Fisk made a deal with the feds. He’s out of prison.”
You blinked. The crushing in your chest was replaced by your heart stopping.
“What?” You choked out. Of all the things you were expected to hear, Fisk’s name wasn’t one of them.
“Well, not out exactly. He’s apparently giving them information that’s made him a target in his old prison so they’re keeping him in a cushy penthouse for ‘safety purposes.’” He spat each word out.
You put a hand on the back of the chair for support. “Fisk is free?”
“Like I said, he isn’t free, but-”
You held up a hand to stop him.“Where’s this hotel?”
-
The courtyard was absolute mayhem. Reporters scurried in every direction, each harassing a different agent for information they wouldn’t get. Matt dodged in between them. The noise made his still recovering head pound, but he could still pick out enough to get through. He ducked his head when he heard Karen’s voice, a small moment of panic almost making him turn around.
He kept moving.
The crowds didn’t surprise you. And neither did seeing the familiar blonde head weaving through the groups with determined strides. You hurried after her, almost bumping into the man in front of you, but he stepped out of the way just in time.
“Karen!” You called.
Gold strands whipped around. Her clear blue stare cut through the crowd.
“Y/N?” She said, pushing through to you. “What the hell are you doing here?”
“So it’s true.” You tilted your head to the top of the building, its windows reflecting the sun in blinding brightness. “Wilson Fisk is up there?”
She sighed. “Foggy told you then?”
“If you’re planning on an ‘it isn’t safe for you to be here’ speech, save it,” you snapped. “I could tell you the same thing.”
She bit her cheek, looked you over, and determined you looked sober enough. “Alright, follow me.”
Matt couldn’t move. He tried to force his feet forward, but the heavy beating of his heart filled his ears and made it impossible to navigate the space around him.
Your voice. Your scent. Even your heartbeat stood out amongst the dozens of people there. And for a moment, just a moment, he wanted to turn around.
“Promise me we’ll go on that trip we talked about, yeah?” You laughed, though the air was salty with your tears and your voice shook. He kissed your lips for the last time.
“I promise.”
But that wasn’t what haunted Matt for the last few months. Your sweet words of promise and hope stung, but they weren’t what kept him from going to you. Your screams were.
“Let me go! Matt! No! Matty! I won’t leave him! Matt!” Even with countless floors between, Matt could hear your gut-wrenching screams as the others dragged you out of the building just before it blew. “Matt! Please! Matt!”
“Matt?”
It took him a moment to realize that your voice now wasn’t from his memory. It was now.
You’d seen him. But judging by the direction, there was a chance you hadn’t seen his face. He could ignore you and chances were, you’d think you were crazy. Just another offense he’d committed against you.
He wanted to turn around, to hold you and kiss your lips again and tell you he was okay and everything was going to be okay. That he was still your Matt.
But the man you fell in love with was gone. He was buried under Midland Circle.
Matt kept walking.
-
You’d seen him. As crazy as it was, you knew it was him. He’d heard you. He must have because he stopped- just for a second, but he stopped. Karen may not have believed you, though you could tell she wanted to, but it didn’t matter.
It was Matt.
Somehow, it didn’t make any sense but it all made sense at the same time. He was going after Fisk. Of course, he was. Not even the grave couldn't stop your Matt from protecting his city. From protecting you.
What you didn’t understand is why he kept walking. He acted like you weren’t there, but he of all people couldn’t have simply not noticed you. He’d left you there on purpose.
He’d left you.
You paced the apartment with your hands raking through your hair with one question on your mind.
Why?
Sure, Matt would always use the excuse of protecting you before, but this time felt different. Had you done something? Had you not done enough at Midland Circle? What happened to him?
Was it your fault?
The explosion was your idea and it buried him. Did he blame you as much as you blamed yourself?
Your feet halted in front of the closet door. Behind the door was a box. Inside the box was the emptiness that haunted your every waking moment for the past you didn’t even know how many days anymore. Your fingers clutched at the neck of the bottle on the table. The drink burned.
None of it mattered. ‘Why’ didn’t matter. What mattered was that he was out there and he left you and as the burn raced down your throat you knew what you needed to do.
And you knew where he might be.
-
The gentleness of your touch eased the sting of the disinfectant as you dabbed it on his wounds. It wasn’t the first night he’d come back cut and beaten, but you didn’t let your worry deter your movements. He came back. That’s what mattered.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You asked, your voice as soft as your motions. You touched a particularly sore spot and he winced. As you went to draw your hand away, he caught it in his, fingers grasping at yours, still clenched around the towel.
“Can we just… sit for a while?” He breathed.
You nodded. He wiped away any blood remaining on his skin and set the towel aside. His arms wrapped around you as he pulled you to his chest. He listened to your heartbeat. You listened to his.
Matt remembered the woman he’d come across earlier that night. Two men had jumped her. They were going to take what they wanted and leave her for dead. He’d taken his time beating them senseless while she got away. But her screams still echoed through his head.
He tensed beneath you and you looked up at him through your lashes.
“What is it?”
“Nothing.”
You sat up. “Matt.”
“It’s nothing,” he managed a laugh. “Really. Just come here.” He coaxed you back to him, but the tension was still there. He breathed in your presence and let out a low sigh. His arms tightened around you. “I’d never let anything happen to you.” His tone was different. Almost afraid.
You drew lines on his chest. “I know.”
“And I’d never hurt you, or at least mean to, anyway, but I know that I have and I’m-”
“Matty.” You crawled up so you were beside him, taking his face in your hands. “All I ask is that you come home at the end of the night.” You kissed his cheek. “In one piece, preferably.” He chuckled and you pressed your lips to his. You whispered in between kisses. “Just come home.”
-
He talked about this place sometimes. Not often. Getting Matt to open up about his childhood was like pulling teeth, but in those last few months together, he’d started to trust you enough to let you in.
This felt like a betrayal of that. Using your knowledge to expose him. To confront him for leaving you behind. A sober you might have thought of that. But the whiskey-fueled your anger, the rum your despair, and everything else blocked out any logical thought.
What was the word Foggy used?
Right.
Concerning.
“Alright, Matthew,” you called out. Your voice was barely more than a hoarse whisper as you tried to hold back sobs. The wind stung the streaks of tears on your cheeks, but the more you tried to wipe them away, the more they fell. You took a drink. “This is it. Now or never.”
You waited. You gave him a chance to stop you.
“You always said you would never let anything happen to me, right? That you’d never hurt me.” You held your arms out at your sides. “Well, here we are, you goddamn liar!” Your voice echoed through the street. He would have been able to hear you for blocks, but standing just outside his damn door had to be good enough. “Come out, Matt!”
“Dude, check out this crazy bitch,” a voice said from behind you.
Your stomach flipped. You swallowed the nervous bile in your throat. This was part of the plan. Sure, you thought you’d have to do a little more seeking, but this worked even better. There was only one way your tangled-up mind could figure that would get Daredevil to come out to play. You just hoped he would bring your Matt with him.
You turned around. Two men stood in front of you, both of them with eyes scanning your body and lips forming smirks. Oh yeah. They were perfect.
“What did you just say to me?” You tried to make your voice sound more confident than you actually felt. You wanted their anger, not their pity.
“Hey, no need to be like that, I was just kidding,” the taller one said, holding his hands up in mock innocence. “I was just about to tell my buddy that you look a little lost.”
“Yeah, maybe she could use our help,” his friend agreed. “Do you want our help?” From the sound of his tone ‘help’ was the last thing he was offering.
They both stepped towards you.
And then a thought broke through your intoxicated, reckless mind.
What if Matt really was dead?
It made you freeze. It almost made you sober.
What if you just saw some guy that looked like him? What if you’d imagined it all together? What if all this time you’d been hoping- hell, even praying- that he would come back and he was still down there, at the bottom of Midland Circle, crushed and bloody and… gone?
The men took another step forward, looking equally confused as they were intrigued.
What if there was no one around to save you?
You held your head high.
You hoped they’d kill you.
Either way, at least you would know.
“You alright there, sweetheart?” The tall one asked. Sweetheart. The word stung. It belonged to someone else.
You didn’t say anything and just started swinging. Fist to teeth, then foot against knee, you actually managed to do some damage before the friend grabbed your arms from behind. You stomped on his foot as hard as you could. Just because this was part of your plan didn’t mean you were going to make it easy for them. It had to at least look like you tried. For Foggy and Karen.
The thought of the two of them threw you off. It made you blink, which allowed the lead prick to get a hold of your hair and use it to throw you to the ground.
“You wanna play it that way, fine,” he growled.
“Hair pulling?” You sneered up at him. “What, did your little sister teach you that move?”
“Mouthy little bitch.” He brought his heel down on your head. Hard. It probably should have knocked you out, but you could still see through blurred vision with darkness around the edges. They started to walk away.
“W-wait,” you said. The feet at the edge of your vision stopped. “Wait, come here.” You beckoned him to you with your hand. He crouched down. “Is that all you’ve got, pussy?”
The hit came faster than you prepared for, knocking the breath out of your lungs. He kicked. And kicked. And kicked. Blood filled your mouth. You thought you heard a knife click open, but then everything went silent.
And there was only one pair of feet.
A grunt. A thud. A body hitting the pavement.
“What the…” Your main assailant gasped.
You blinked, trying to see what was going on.
“Hey, man, she started it, I swear.” Another grunt. Another thud. Another body hit the pavement.
A masked face appeared over yours.
You smiled through the pain. “I knew it.”
He took off the black band, revealing his panicked face. It was the last thing you saw before the darkness in your head took over.
-
Matt carried you downstairs, every sense tuned into the creaking of your broken ribs, the smell of the blood leaking from your lips, your head, your nose. He focused on the sound of your heart. It was still beating.
It was still beating.
“Sister!” He called.
Sister Maggie, in all her wise-cracking wisdom, had known to be there. Matt didn’t know how, but not for the first time he was grateful for her presence. She helped without him having to ask.
“Is she breathing?” She asked.
“Barely. Her ribs are broken. I-I can’t tell how hard she hit her head.” He laid you on the bed, still listening to the semi-steady thump thump, thump thump.
“Who is she?”
He didn’t answer. Instead, his hands roamed your features, the gentle curve of your cheek now split with a bleeding gash. He ran a finger over your lips. As if to confirm it was really you. He had to feel, had to know. Know that this was his fault. Your words echoed in his head.
You’d never hurt me.
You goddamn liar.
You were here for him. The reckoning for his sins these past weeks.
“Matthew, who is she?” Margaret pressed again.
“It doesn’t matter,” he snapped. “Just help her.” Matt’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Please.”
Sister Maggie frowned, fingers clenched around the cloth she’d used to clean some of the blood. “You need to take her to a hospital.”
“Don’t.” Your voice rasped between them. “Don’t you dare.” You started to sit up, using shaking arms to push yourself upright even as your insides felt like they wanted to rip out of you just from breathing.
“Stay down,” Matt said. He sat on the edge of the bed, easing you back to a lying position. “Try not to move.”
“I knew it.”
“Y/N-”
“I fucking knew it.” You pushed back. He was stronger. Matt kept you down as gently as he could.
“Sister, will you give us a minute?”
You turned to the woman you hadn’t noticed. She seemed glad to leave.
Matt didn’t face you. He stood up from the bed and paced along the concrete floor, keeping a distance away that made you want to scream. You wanted to touch him. To make sure he was really there. But he hovered away from you like a ghost.
“Those guys really did a number, huh?” You managed to sit up and this time, he didn’t stop you. Your head, however, wanted to bash itself in. Between the trauma and the liquor, you weren’t sure which made you more nauseous. “But the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is always around to save the day.”
“You did it on purpose,” Matt said, shoulders stiff. “You provoked them. They could have killed you and you-” He sucked in a breath. “Why?”
“I’m an adrenaline junkie. I drink, I look for trouble. It’s becoming quite the hobby.” You were lying. You knew he could tell.
He stood still, head tilting slightly. “You knew I’d come.”
“Ding ding ding.” You fell back on the bed and let the ceiling spin.
Matt couldn’t speak. The panic he’d felt was slowly being engulfed by anger, though it was hard to tell at who. You were looking for a fight, that much he gathered was true. You were drunk, though the fight sobered you up some. Everything he’d ever told you, everything he’d done to try and keep you safe, would have been thrown away tonight. You would have let those men kill you if it meant he wasn’t there.
And it was all his fault.
He did the one thing he promised he wouldn't. He left. You’d never judged him, never questioned his need to put on the suit. All you ever asked was that he come back to you and this time, he didn’t. By choice, he didn’t. Just like everyone in both of your pasts, he abandoned you. This was your choice to get back at him, whether or not you believed he was alive.
“I saw you,” you said quietly. “Today, at the hotel. I knew it was you.” The sure, stubbornness in your voice was gone, replaced by a cracking, wrenching sadness. “I had to know.”
Matt didn’t say anything. He just reached for the lamp and switched off the light.
“Get some rest.”
When you woke up, you were in the hospital, bandages on your cuts, and more hungover than you’d felt in a long time.
Matt was gone.
-
They didn’t discharge you, but you left anyway. If they looked too closely at your emergency contacts, they’d find someone who was supposed to be dead and Karen. The latter was not someone you wanted to face right now.
So, with a couple of busted ribs and one hell of a concussion, you went back to the apartment. His apartment. The place where he first kissed you, first touched you, first-
Now it was just yours. He didn’t want it anymore.
You half debated going back to the church and demanding he talk to you. You’d like to see the brilliant lawyer try to talk his way out of this one. But in the end, everything hurt too much to face him. You wanted a drink.
Unlocking the door, the click hit your chest harder than any of that creep’s kicks.
You knew.
You may not have had his abilities, but you knew.
Walking in, you didn’t dare turn around and look at the stairs. You didn’t have to.
“I’m all better now if that’s what you wanted to see,” you said. You threw your jacket on the floor and kicked off your boots.
Matt didn’t move from his place by the roof entrance. He stood over you like a judgemental god and you wanted to hit him for it. You might have if he didn’t already look like hell itself spat him back out.
“You wanted them to kill you,” he whispered just loud enough for you to hear. Not an accusation. An acknowledgment.
“I wasn’t going to stop them if they tried.” You shrugged. You moved to the kitchen. “Beer?”
“You shouldn’t drink with the amount of pain medication they gave you.” He said it so matter-of-factly. Like he was just your boyfriend and looking out for you. But he wasn’t and you didn’t know what he was to you anymore.
“Yeah, well, it’s going to wear off at some point so I might as well get ahead of the curve here.”
“Y/N-” He stepped. The steps creaked.
“Don’t.” You held up a hand. “Don’t come anywhere near me, Matt Murdock.”
He flinched at the sound of his name like it was a blade you held against his throat.
“Stay where you are,” you said and twisted off the bottle top, grasping so hard the rigid edge dug into your palm. “Shit.” It sliced your skin and your blood dripped onto the wooden floor.
You didn’t watch him descend the stairs or cross the space between you. You closed your eyes so you wouldn’t see his hand grab yours, wrapping the small but deep cut with gauze he carried with him. You yanked away the moment his hold lightened.
“Don’t touch me.”
“Y/N-” He said again, your name hurting more than his own.
“You’re dead!” Your scream filled the apartment. You knew it filled his head. Everything always did. Good. Let it.
Matt didn’t step away, but he did let his hand fall back to his side.
“I know.”
You tried your best not to shake, not to cry and show the weakness you’d felt for the last weeks. Then again, you wanted him to know. You wanted him to feel everything you’d felt.
“Tell me you were trapped somewhere. Tell me you tried everything you could to get back to us and you just broke free,” you pleaded. “Tell me a lie, Matt, because I’d rather hear that than whatever bullshit reason you can give me.”
He opened his mouth, but you didn’t let him speak, reading his face before he could say it.
“I swear, if you say something about ‘protecting me’, then you should have just left me to those creeps because that would have been better than listening to that broken record again.” You turned your back and for that second, you let yourself crumple, but only for a second and completely silent.
“It wasn’t about you.”
You straightened up again. “It never was.”
Now, with you facing away, it was his turn to break. Matt sucked in a sharp breath to keep himself together as you continued.
“It was always about you, Matt. About your insisted martyrdom.” You didn’t try to stop your tears now, tasting their salt as they flowed past your lips. “Your city. The rest of us just live here, right?” You turned around, stepping towards him. “But at least we live.” With your hands on his chest, you pushed him back. “Which is a hell of a lot harder than hiding.”
You pushed again and again and again and he just stood there and took it. Your flattened hands turned to fists, hitting harder and harder until you were sure you’d leave bruises on his chest.
It was when you collapsed that he finally moved, throwing his arms around you before you could hit the floor, your legs giving out under the weight of your utter, complete agony. Your sobs choked you and rattled through Matt like gunfire. You kept fighting him, even as he held you, the pain of your injuries was nothing compared to what you felt in your soul. Like the shattered pieces were being forced back together, but didn’t fit anymore.
Matt wanted to make it stop. He wanted more than anything to take all of the pain away and tell you it was going to be okay. He was here now. But he was the cause of it all and there was nothing he could do to change it.
And while there was still a dark part of him that wanted to leave you here, to shield you from him entirely, Matt knew if he tried to walk away now, he wouldn't survive it. Daredevil or Matt Murdock, it didn’t matter. He was yours.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into your hair.
“You were dead,” you said again, this time with broken words blending together with your sobs. “I tried to go back. I tried to get into Midland Circle, but they dragged me out. I tried, Matt, I-”
He cut you off with a kiss on the forehead and held you closer.
“I know.” He could still hear your screams, your pleas to give up your life to try and save him. He’d thrown it away, everything you’d tried to make of him. Of the two of you, together.
You’ll get her killed too. Fisk’s voice in his head pierced his skull like a blade. I will crush her. I’ll tear her apart piece by piece, Matthew, and there is nothing you can do to stop me.
“She’ll put up a hell of a fight first,” Matt muttered.
“What?” You pulled back to look up at him.
He shook his head and held you closer still until the lines between you blurred together.
“Nothing.”
Even though every part of him now screamed to get away, he couldn’t move. Even as you knelt in front of him, pulling his lips down to yours, he didn’t fight it. A shock worse than any punch went through his system the moment you kissed him. Like every nerve was finally waking up.
Maybe he wasn’t dead after all.
Matt cupped your cheek with one hand and slipped the other to the small of your back, urging you to stand and walk with him to the bed neither of you had slept in in weeks.
He’d decide in the morning.

Aight aight~ here are my thoughts on TS 2.0 demo. SPOILERS.
About Exile origin
There's smth I'm confused abt with MC and their curse
My thoughts on LIs in this new update <3
Yes ofc I'm gonna yap more abt Leander
Useless 1am thoughts but genuinely terrified me
(Also please excuse my ENG (^^;;; )
I alrd gave my opinions on the replacement with the Hound to the Exile before but @/slyfire gave a perfect rundown on this topic! (Read here if you're interested~) Perfectly summed up everything I thought abt it. One of the things I want to highlight from their breakdown is this:
It seems the exile can unlock this red option:
It makes sense because they have an 'uncanny intuition for detecting danger'. That made mereally anticipate what's going to happen when we finally face the Soulless soon...To my surprise, they changed the options for this scene as well and I was excited 'Fight back' is an option, and ofc I chose it, eager to see what would happen but the result wasn't so pretty💀
Nope, I didn't expect for MC to pull off some sick move to fight the soulless, but what I was hoping for to see them AT LEAST DO SOMETHING or ANYTHING to survive, after all they're 'seasoned survivalist' and 'well-versed in deciphering Soulless'. They also have been taught how to survive in the wild.
So maybe dodging some attacks and do something to distract the soulless before Mhin arrives. But instead they tried to use their curse to purify the soulless temporarily. I mean, yeah cool, would love to see that happen, but at the time, it felt like a bad idea??? and yeah it was hdakdasks
This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for when I picked the Exile origin.. MC doing something that ties back to their background. I KNOOOWW, I know, it is still a demo, but, give us something-- a little bit that shows exile is good enough to be a replacement to the Hound. *sobs*
Also, did i miss anything abt how MC KNEW they could purify soulless? I'm aware I have a memory of a goldfish so maybe there's something that I forgor😔 Please let me know I'm actually curious (><!! I was surprised we got to see them unwrap the bandages, even attempt to try purify the soulless this soon.
And that's that.
ANYWAY *throws some glitters and sparkles*
My thoughts on LIs <3 just a basic rundown, nothing serious...kind of.
Kuras
Is it just me or does our pristine doctor seems to glow a lot more brighter in this update? Did I accidently turn the brightness up to max?? Because his beauty blinded me for sure, ESPECIALLY HIS EYES!!! I think I'm obsessed...so many pics it's so hard to choose! but something about the 2nd pic gives off softness, purity, innocence and sincerity to me uuuueeegghh and maybe I'm overthinking it bcuz it looks glowy to me🥺🥺🥺 Anw, love the lil ahem ahem...date..we had by the river (ughh the scenery was beautiful😔) I don't remember from previous demo but in this version,Kuras seems much more likely to show that he has a strong interest in the MC. I found myself more and more..dazzled by Kuras this time...I think he's gonna be my 2nd favourite I fear🥺................................ (Leander is behind me isn't he?🧍)
Vere
Well well weeellll~ looks like the fox has lost its tongue. Happy to see Vere is not just about wanting to snap our neck and eat us alive (yet). I didn’t know that we had chosen to ignore him and resist him(??) is what makes us interesting in his eyes? Not sure, but whatever made him react that way made me think of someone *side-eye Ais
[Is it kind of his type or something?...]
Mhin
Mhin is more approachable and um less snappy? than before, which I'm happy about (and can't wait for the moment when they can fully trust and feel comfortable with MC😭 I really want to see that happen so bad....) I love we got to see their nerdy side when they analyzing the soulless asjdasj That honestly caught me off guard. And how they show a little smile and get a bit bashful whenever we catch onto something they like🥺
Ais
[LOOK Y'ALL HIS OTHER HAND IS DOWN *head in hands**copium*]
*sigh* ...I love him..........*slaps face* I um, can't really hide my disappointment when we got less sprites of him. I know... because I remember every single expression and the movement he makes. Yes, I sound like a creep. Only for him tho~- *gets shot* I was hoping to at least him show his fang when he grins,-- pout OR BLUSH. But hey *sobs* we got bloody knuckles. I'm not complaining. Oh and no Princess sprite either *cries* I also hoping they also make the exterior of Ais' place. I am very curious how it look.... And this right here:
means thousands for me <3
(Do you think I'm done? Of course not. Yes I'm holding myself back from saying more because I'm gonna do a separate post just to talk about him😔)
Leander
[I want to kick him in the ass]
And at last, here we are. Of course I have to leave him for the end. The highlight of this updated demo; our lovely sus man, Leander. What kind of sorcery and flavor did they put into this man. WHY IS HE SO MUCH DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD DEMO?!!!??? He used to be much more tolerable and I- I thought I could fix him, BUT NOW this man is nothing but glaring red in my eyes😭NINONINONINOOOO🚨🚨🚨 the alarm in my head went off when he said this:
What the actual fck do you mean by that mister💀☝️
At the time, I thought it was just Leander being the haha silly guy he is!! --and then he starts making UwU face and saying things like; 'You don't owe me anything' 'I'll help you all the time' 'You're not believe me?' 🥺👉👈 Yeah it's cute and all but all this makes me...strangely uncomfortable...UNTIL HE LOCKED THE DAMN DOOR. I couldn't help but foolishly screamed for Ais, hoping he would pick me up and comfort me😭
The whole scene in the room; gave me nothing but smth close to claustrophobia. My legs wouldn't stop shaking, I kept biting my nails (afraid to see what would happen next) The whole time I felt trapped. All his sweet words felt some kind of spells in my ears- like MC couldn't do anything but 'Yes' to every word he said... AND THAT MC IS RASVAN DAMMIT AAAAA😭
Me through my monitor screen:
"RASVAAAAANNNN GET OOOOUUTT ITS A TRRAAPPPPPP DONT LISTENN TO HIMMMM PUSH HIM AAWWAAYYYYYYY RASSSVAAANNNNN"
I was already off my seat when it get to this part, LIKE AINT NO WAY Y'ALL GONNA DO IT??? and they don't🧍somehow I feel relief.
Dear Leander fans/simps out there, please don't hate me for having this kind of reaction (I was once one of you but now.........) ajsdghasd OVERALL do I hate this big massive changes on Leander? No. Absolutely not, in fact I like it even more. It shows that Leander might potentially be the scariest one among the LIs, despite being human. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what kind of sht he'll pull in the full release.
Before I forget- can I just say how much I love his introduction? It's so much better compared to the old demo (I have more to say to this but brain is giving up on me rn)
And now here come my silly 1am thoughts; it's abt both Ais and Leander...
Since, ofc, we don't know what exactly Leander wants from us-- what if the feelings are genuine? The way he acts, all stuff he says to us, sure, some things might raise a brow.. but- but what if he actually sincere and this is just him wants to have us in his (somewhat) twisted way. WHILE AIS THO, all the stuff that I've been saying how soft he can be is just an act???? What if he’s fooling us, only to throw us away later???? What if the devs want to trick us (<Ais fans)??? Maybe there's some kind of twisted plot twist waiting at the end???----
I told you these are just silly and stupid thoughts, but idk why I decided to deep dive into it💀 Sometimes I like to think worse things that could possibly happen. It's fun to get lost in these thoughts even part of me know it won't likely to happen. But heh WHAT IF am I right? I'm still on abt with the theory and analysis with; Leander is green but is the reddest red flag ever while Ais is red but is greenest, most foresty flag ever. I'm so into it and want more ppl to talk about it *looks at you with my sparkly eyes*
ANYWAY, I'm gonna be sound more stupider if I keep this going. I'm going sleep and dream abt aisvan 🚶.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING. Hope all of you have a wonderful day and keep playing demo until the full release comes out🥰(me).
#talkingken#touchstarved updated demo spoilers#touchstarved game#i can feel my brain is melting from writing all this#i blame leander

this probably wouldn’t even be the first time you found yourself in this situation. no, it’d be a regular occurrence at this point, a developmental game if you must. that’s why bf!mingi absolutely loves the movies, because that’s when he get’s to play his favorite game.
‘how long are you gonna last this time around?’
imagine bf!mingi, who’s caressing your thigh tenderly with the backs of his fingers, shushing you and mumbling sweetly into your hair while your ass continues to squirm against his pelvis. getting situated always took the longest. so tedious, finding that perfect spot where you can just slide down and onto his lap, your walls gripping his cock and swallowing it whole.
he sits idly and unmoving, allowing you to move around for a bit. because at some point, bf!mingi’s gonna start the fun part of the game. the part that really tests your strength.
and once you finally achieve that perfect spot, the sensation makes your face scrunch pleasantly and a soft sigh floats out of you. so entranced, you almost don’t notice the pretty pink blanket, draped over the both of you, slip just slightly down your leg.
“shhhh…okay baby, i need you keep still,” he’d tell you, and a part of him almost doesn’t want to go reposition it. what if he left you out and exposed? imagine, someone walking up and discovering the disgusting scene. it’s exciting him, these thoughts, but soon enough he’s lowering himself down and recovers you two, all the while holding back a smile. it’s enjoyable for him, just the riskiness of it all.
how the dark theatre somehow shadows your lewd actions, yet the monumental screen ahead provides illumination onto your struggling face, “if you wanna win, you know you can’t move.”
after many weeks of playing, you haven’t won a single round. not once. you would get so close, but then luck out whenever bf!mingi would buck a bit too hard, or your own desires began to consume you. every, single round, a loser had been made out of you.
“last time, you couldn’t even make it through the previews before you fucking came all over my legs,” he reminds you, a slow and sick grin spreading wide, “you gonna try harder? wanna get your prize tonight?” it’s pathetic how you have to bite back a mewl from his words.
this is always the hardest part for you: the taunting. it kills you every time.
at the start of the movie, it’s through his teasing voice; his low, grumble of a tone that buzzes perfectly into your head.
“see? already made it through the trailers,” he’d laugh. as a reward the aimless touch he provided earlier turns into a hard grab, kneading at the flesh of your thighs with a quiet groan, “one step closer. just needa make it through the movie.”
then, it’s through his touches.
as you become more conscious of your ragged breaths, his hand trails from your leg and drags up towards your shirt. teasing your breasts through the fabric, he grazes absentmindedly before running then back down your stomach, only stopping when he meets your bare pussy. it takes his full strength to not end the game by just simply fingering the orgasm out of you. but if that were the case, then he wouldn’t be able to see you whither. and that’s always his most favored part.
the most you could do is shut your eyes and pray your body doesn’t betray you. but even that doesn’t get you far, with just a few minutes into the movie, friction starts to build within you. while bf!mingi rests his back against the plush seat, grateful for his top view of the movie theatre, a slow thrust of his hips find a rhythm in your core.
it's torturous. the intentional, unhurried movements, leisurely rocking in and out of you. it's like he's rubbing himself inside you, and you're forced to seal your mouth.
"you holding up okay, angel?" he mutters and you give him a brisk nod, turning to the side momentarily. he finds that comical. your desire to always win. the need to prove him wrong.
but he knows you. he knows you're slipping with every second his leaking cock stays within you, radiating the pleasure you so desperately seek. he knows you're crumbling. you’re gonna unravel soon.
right when you think you've conquered this section of the challenge, a quick shift from underneath you has your eyes vibrating, a small gasp leaving you as bf!mingi practically buries himself closer to your cervix.
"ah, oops, sorry...just need to.." he moves around some more, adjusting his position, along with you, before halting once again, "alright, there we go. i feel much better. how about you?"
the angle he’s now hitting feels like it’s splitting you open and a strained yet airy moan tupples from your lips. with no more strength, your head falls down into the space between his shoulder and neck, eyes shut and brows furrowed, "i can't- i can't do it-"
"mmm, baby, no," he wraps an arm around your torso to reach your cheeks, clasping them together with a smush then forcing you back forward, "baby, you gotta keep your eyes open."
he drops his hand but that doesn't stop your whining, you sobbing out a, "no- i can't-"
"shhh y/n what did i say?,” he locks onto your inner thighs and widens them, “you know i didn't spend money on these damn tickets for nothing. come on, watch the movie."
as you feel him start up again with his quiet thrusts, you loll your head back with a grimace and hooded eyes, little noises now spilling out. your neck fully exposed, bf!mingi takes initiative to lean up and bring his lips to the vast area, nipping and kissing at it. he suctions onto your skin which sends a jolt throughout your core.
and just like that, you're done for.
"you're so close, i can feel it." he whispers on your neck as a devilish smirk overtakes his kisses, "i fucking knew it. i knew you would lose."
his words nearly egg you on as you accept defeat, allowing yourself to succumb to the slow pace of his length sliding against your insides. your fingers curl with the repeated motion, a continuous build up until eventually you burst and your orgasm hits you hard.
it causes you to wriggle against him, contracting your body so tightly you’re shaking then releases you, repeating this over and over again all the while bf!mingi keeps his kisses coming on your neck.
like said, this is always his favorite part of the game. the thing he looks most forward to. because no matter how hard you've tried, it always ends the same.
"aww," he notices your high coming down, excluding the occasional body twitches, "and the movie was almost over."
"you're awful." you could hardly muster that sentence, your back resting on top of his chest while you regain your composure. your cunt still pulsed every now and then around him.
he supplies a silent laugh before going in your ear once more, "well, look at it this way. now we can go home and play your favorite game."
while bf!mingi returns back to his seat, bringing you with him, a small whimper is produced by you. because absolutely not what was to come, your favorite game. in fact, it felt merely like an extension of this game.
‘how many different ways are you gonna make bf!mingi cum tonight?’

➪the one where ethan can’t keep his hands off you during a group dinner. (requested)
Warnings: dirty talk, fingering, ethan being a cheeky bastard again, public smut, smut, all that fun stuff | I just found out that Ethan pulled a Jill and killed his mother for disagreeing with the plan. Dudes crazier than I thought but I still love him.
Word Count: 3k | Ethan Masterlist
Do not repost this anywhere, reblogs are fine <3
“Ethan, stop it,” you muttered, swatting his hand away from you as you moved a few inches from him. You could only move so far as the backseat provided very little space for you to put some distance between the two of you.
“I’m not doing anything,” he gave you his signature grin, letting you know that he knew exactly what he was doing. You looked forward and were thankful to see Chad and Mindy still lost in conversation, one of his hands on the wheel while his other waved around in an attempt to get his sister to understand whatever it was he was saying.
In other words, they seemed to be oblivious to the way Ethan’s hand kept finding itself on your thigh, his fingers inching closer and closer to the hem of your dress. Anika, who was sitting to the right of Ethan while you were to his left, didn’t seem to notice it either.
“Something wrong, baby?” Ethan asked quietly, grinning at your flushed face.
“No, nothings wrong,” you force out a smile, grabbing his wrist and shoving his hand away when it creeped up your leg again. “It just seems as though someone’s got a case of wandering hands.”
He hummed, leaning over and pressing a kiss to the side of your head, keeping his mouth against your skin when he mumbled, “If you could see yourself from my eyes, you’d understand,” he pulled away and you squinted at him. “You look hot.”
Rolling your eyes, you grab his hand again, but instead of throwing it off you, your fingers lace with his and lock them in place. You give him a shrug and smirk, watching the way his lips turned into a pout.
“Hey,” Chad’s voice made you both look over at him, meeting his eyes in the rearview mirror. “What’s going on back there?”
Mindy and Anika turn to look at you as well and you sink into Ethan’s side, a wave of embarrassment washing over you. “Nothing, roomie,” Ethan replied, slipping his hand from yours and wrapping his arm around your shoulder. He pulls you closer to him, his hand dropping to your waist in a tight grip. “Y/n just gets car sick sometimes.”
Mindy gives you a look of pity. “Awh, Y/n,” she reaches behind her and places a comforting hand on your exposed knee. “Don’t worry, we’re almost there.”
She turns back around and resumes the conversation with her brother after that, her hand falling from your knee. Ethan leaned down so his mouth was close to your ear, his lips brushing against it as he asked, “How come you let her touch you and not me?”
You hold back a laugh and look up at him. “Because she’s not a perv,”
He lets out a quiet gasp, his hand giving your side a gentle slap that had you jumping slightly. You grow concerned when you feel a bit turned on by that. “And I am?”
“You know you are,” you reply, grinning at the shrug he gives you before he presses his lips to yours. His hand inches lower once again, his index finger drawing teasing circles on the skin of your inner thigh. Your hand grabs his wrist but does nothing to stop it from inching closer, making him smirk into the kiss.
His free hand reaches over and tugs your leg up so it’s draped over his, the hand closest to you continuing to venture your body. The revealing fabric of your black dress did nothing to keep his hand from finding the most private part of you, the pads of his fingers pressing against the place that had you jolting and curling your body closer to his.
Ethan was never this touchy in public. Sure, he almost always had a hand on you, whether that was locked in one of yours, an arm thrown around your shoulder, or even his hand placed on your hip. But he was never this handsy, and especially not in front of your friends. He preferred to have you squirming like this in the privacy of either your room or his, away from the prying eyes of everyone else.
It was to be expected, to be fair. You had gotten ready at his place, your body covered by the tight yet comfortable dress. You stood in front of the mirror, decorated in random, boyish stickers that proved a guy fresh out of high school was the one who lived in this room. That, mixed with the clutter and piles of laundry, it was definitely a ‘guy’s’ space.
As you applied a matte rose shade to your lips, you failed to notice the fact that Ethan, who had been sitting on his bed a few feet away the entire time, hadn’t taken his eyes off you since you let yourself into his room, your curves prominent through your dress.
Fuck, he had no idea how he got so lucky with you.
Boring, average Ethan was dating the hottest girl on campus. His brother would be so proud of him.
As you touched up your natural makeup, Ethan’s teeth dug into his bottom lip, his eyes fixated on your body. When you turned to him and gave him a smile, that was when he stood up and slowly walked over to you.
You tried to ignore the fact that, even in your heels, he was still towering over you. A sense of pride settled deep in your core as you strained your neck to look up at him. “Maybe we should just stay in tonight,” he offered, his hands finding home on your hips.
Gathering up your inner strength and finding a sliver of resistance, you gently place your hands flat against his chest and give him a small push. “And have Anika get pissed at us for bailing again?” You ask and watch as a look of realization flashes across his face, now remembering the last time he convinced you to stay in and how mad she was. “We can’t.” You add and press a chaste kiss to his lips before pulling away from him.
“Fine,” he said nonchalantly, reaching for his wallet that was among the clutter on his desk. “But don’t be surprised if I can’t keep my hands off you tonight.”
You laughed then, but only now realized how serious he actually was as he had not taken his hands off of you for more than a few seconds since you got in the car.
A warm blush heats your face as you move closer to Ethan, if that was even possible at this point, and his finger presses a bit harder against your covered clit. You refrain from bucking your hips upwards to create more friction, something he probably wanted you to do, now that you thought of it.
“Ethan,” you warned against his mouth, pulling away just enough to be able to see his full face. His brown eyes held a glint of mischief, a knowing smirk on his lips as he subtly moved his hand closer to you, his finger running along the lining of the dark blue fabric that kept you covered from his wandering hand. “You’re awful.”
He just laughed quietly. “How so? I told you back at my place,” he pointed out. “I warned you.”
Before you could reply, the car came to a stop outside a small restaurant. Mindy turned around and faced you, “We’re here,” she grinned at you, her loud voice making you jump and push your boyfriend’s hand away from you. “Hopefully you feel better after you get some food into you.”
You force a smile and take your seatbelt off, your hand on the door handle when Ethan leaned over so his lips were brushing against the shell of your ear. “That’s not the only thing that will be getting into you,” your face heats up again and he presses a quick kiss to your temple before reaching over and opening the door for you.
You quickly exit the car, the chilled air helping ease the burn you felt in both your face and core. Ethan wraps his arm around your shoulders and closes the door with the hand of his other as Danny and the Carpenter sisters, who had been driving behind Chad the whole time, walk the short distance to regroup. “Jesus, Chad, could you have picked a place further away?” Sam muttered as she wrapped her coat around her tighter.
“Honestly, yeah, I could’ve,” he answered as you waited outside the doors to the restaurant. “We’ve been to the local places so many times now, so I thought we should try some place away from the city. Plus, I heard the steak here is the best in New York.”
“Yeah, because that’s important,” Tara said and Chad shrugged, nudging Ethan with his fist.
“It is,” he said when Ethan returned the fist bump. “We’re growing men and need real food, not those healthy salads you girls are all hooked on.”
You rolled your eyes as you rub your hand up your arm when the wind picked up just a bit, making you repress a shiver. “I told you to bring a coat,” Ethan mumbled as he pulled his arms out of his dark blue jacket, leaving him in a black henley that went well with his dark jeans and converse.
“And I told you it would ruin my outfit,” you say back and watch as he rolls his eyes before draping the jacket across your shoulders, reaching down to take your hand afterwards. “But thank you, this looks and feels much better.”
You stand on the tips of your toes to press a kiss to his jaw, aiming for his cheek but failing to do so as he was the tallest guy you’ve ever met and still somehow managed to tower over you every time you wore heels.
The group was escorted inside after that and led over to the large table at the back, the lights dim and giving the atmosphere a dark and closed off setting. When you were all seated - Ethan beside you, Anika beside him, Mindy beside her, Tara next to her, Sam, Danny and then Chad on your other side - and had a good look at the menu, Sam took it upon herself to ask, “So, what’s everyone getting?”
Chad, who hadn’t even picked up his menu, sat back and crossed his arms. “The steak, duh,”
Anika rolled her eyes as she answered the older sister with her order. As everyone else began answering her as well, Ethan quickly became bored and placed his right hand on your thigh, his left arm resting on the back of your chair. You tense up almost instantly, glaring at him as he looked over at Sam.
“Don’t you dare,” you whisper in warning. You weren’t sure what you’d do if Ethan were to tease you like he did in the car. Sure, that setting wasn’t private at all, seeing as your friends were literally right there, but at least you were around people you knew and it was dark. This was a restaurant full of strangers and the lighting, though it was dim, wasn’t nearly as dark as the car was. “Please, don’t.”
Ethan just withheld a smirk as Sam turned to face you. “Y/n/n, what are you getting?”
You open your mouth to answer but it was then when Ethan decided to be the worst boyfriend in the world as his hand disappeared under your dress and his thumb pressed to your clothed clit. You bite back a moan, jumping in your seat slightly and leaning closer to him. “I…um,”
Sam gives you a concerned look before Mindy spoke up, “She’s got an upset stomach right now. She gets car sick,”
“Oh,” Sam frowns, her brows pressing together in pity.
“It’ll pass,” you say through clenched teeth, your hand gripping Ethan’s knee under the table. Your nails dig into the rough material as his finger begins to apply more pressure to your nerves. “I was looking at the parm.”
Sam nods then looks at Ethan, completely oblivious to what was happening under the table. “What about you?”
“Same as her,” he simply answered, earning a scoff from Chad.
“Weak, dude, I was rooting for you,”
Ethan just shrugged and gave him a boyish grin - all while his hand tugged on the lace and pushed it aside, exposing your core to his greedy fingers. Before you could even muster up the strength to warn him again, his index finger easily slipped into you, proving his words he said in the car and making them into a reality.
Though it wasn’t uncommon for Ethan and you to be affectionate in public, this was completely new to you. You had never been…touched like this in public, so to say your heart was racing would be an understatement.
You press your face against his shoulder, disguising your breathy moan as a quiet groan, acting as if you actually weren’t feeling well when it was far from the truth. Ethan hummed in secret approval, his chin resting on the top of your head. “It’s okay, baby,” he murmured and you could hear the smirk in his voice. “You’ll feel better soon.”
The waitress came over and gave you all a kind smile, her eyes narrowing in concern when she saw how you were hunched over your boyfriend. “Are you okay, honey?” She asked sweetly, making you lift your head in embarrassment.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you say quietly, giving her a forced smile as Ethan’s finger steadily began pumping in and out of you. “It was just a long drive, but I’m okay.” You add to try and make it seem more convincing.
“Oh, I see,” she nods in understanding, grabbing her pen from her belt. “Well, let’s get your order then so you’re not sitting on an empty stomach.”
You could’ve cried in relief when she looked away from you and towards Sam, who gave her everyone’s order as if she was a mother ordering for her kids. She kind of was, to be honest. She was the mother of the group, something you all agreed on when she was out of earshot one night.
Your hand gripped his bicep tightly, your nails seeming to not hurt him at all as they dug into his skin. “Ethan,” you whispered desperately, your legs trying to close around his hand. “Please.”
He didn’t answer as his middle finger joined the one already buried inside of you. You squirmed some more, your shaky hand reaching over to grip the glass of water before bringing it to your lips.
You weren’t able to get even one sip of the drink before Ethan curled his fingers, making you inhale sharply, the glass nearly slipping from your grasp. You glare up at him when you feel your side dampen due to the water you had just accidently spilled.
Before you could cuss him out, he ducks his head down to press his lips to yours. He successfully silenced your moans of surprise as his fingers picked up the pace, the edge of his middle one grazing the most sensitive part you had inside of you.
“I can’t,” you whimpered quietly against his mouth before hiding your face in the space between his neck and shoulder.
It was all too much, too dirty.
Here you were, allowing your boyfriend to fuck his fingers into you in the back corner of a crowded restaurant while you pretend you were car sick.
You would be lying if you said that the very real possibility of getting caught didn’t turn you on to no end. The public setting only amplified the feeling he was currently providing you with, your hips refraining from lifting to increase the pressure building within you.
Ethan, so selfless, kept calm and collected while he worked to get you off in the way he knew you deserved, hard on be damned so long as he got to watch you unravel.
The way he shielded your face away from the eyes of the others, as if to spare at least some of your dignity while you tried not to let out loud moans, was undeniably hot.
Ethan grinned when he heard your soft whisper of his name against his neck, his fingers never stopping their assault to your core. To get you closer to the edge a bit quicker, despite wanting to prolong this as much as he could, his thumb returns to your clit, where it traces circles that had your legs shaking.
You shakily exhale, your throat releasing a quiet moan that had his hand moving even quicker. You felt your stomach muscles tense and your body went stiff as you pressed your face closer to him, your hands desperately holding onto his arm as he took the glass from you with his free hand before returning that arm back to your chair.
“Come on, baby,” he spoke quietly so only you could hear, his eyes fixated on the way your hand gripped his wrist. “Come for me in front of all our friends.”
His words, mixed with the relentless movement of his fingers, had your eyes squeezing shut, your teeth digging into your bottom lip as you felt the knot that had formed inside you snap.
You moan breathlessly against his neck while he peers around the table, relieved to see that no one was paying too close attention to you, otherwise you would’ve been caught.
You lift your head from his shoulder, a thin layer of sweat forming on your forehead as he pulls his hand away from you.
Then, as discreetly and nonchalantly as he could, he raises his hand and sucks his fingers one by one. You watch in awe, your mind reeling and face burning as he leaned over to whisper in your ear, “Say you’re going to the washroom,” he murmured. “I’ll meet you there in five.”

Bloodstained Petals
Pairings: Mattheo Riddle x fem!reader
Warnings: Swearing, unrequited love, mentions of blood and throwing up, violence, death, and my shitty writing.
Summary: The Hanahaki Disease is a rare disease that causes flowers to grow in the person's lungs. The only way to stop it from killing the person, is to get the one they're in love with, to fall in love with them.
-
Y/n sighed as she watched as Mattheo make an advance on the girl he's been keen on for the last 2 months.
Theo sighed as he saw the look on the girl's face. He had known about her love for the dickhead since the beginning.
Y/n, you're making things harder for yourself," He finally spoke up.
"What's wrong with me?" She asked the question she's been asking him for years now.
"There's nothing wrong with you, love," Theo said, "He's just a fucking idiot."
Y/n sighed again, looking down at her food, feeling too sick to even think about eating anything.
"I'm going to bed, I'll see you tomorrow at breakfast," She said before getting up and walking out.
"I need the room tonight," Mattheo said when he came back to the table, "Where's Y/n?"
"You're a fucking idiot," Theo said also getting up to try and catch up with her, but she was already gone.
-
Y/n woke up in the middle of the night, coughing up her lungs. She ran to the bathroom to get her something to drink so that she'd stop coughing.
After downing a glass or two of water, her stomach churned. She quickly bent over the toilet and threw up.
Her heart sank with fear as she saw the blood and the petals. She then started coughing again, more petals.
Next thing she knew she stormed to the Gryffindor common room, ignoring the fat lady's whining about waking her up, and she ran straight to Hermione's room.
"Thank Merlin, you're awake," Y/n said.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked worriedly as she looked at the panicked girl.
As if on cue another coughing fit started and petals landed in het hand.
"Are those?"
"Yeah."
"Oh my God," Hermione said, "You have the Hanahaki Disease."
"You say that like I'm supposed to know what it means," Y/n said as she threw the petals into the bin.
"Hanahaki Disease, is caused by unrequited love."
Y/n stayed silent. She brought this upon herself... falling in love with Mattheo.
"It's very rare. It causes a flower to grow in your lungs. The only way to stop it, is to..."
"Is to what?" Y/n asked, looking at Hermione.
"Is to get the person you're in love with, to fall in love with you. They can't just say I love you, and it'll be gone. They have to actually mean it," She said.
"I'm doomed," Y/n said as she sat down on Hermione's bed.
"Y/n," Hermione said. Her words were cut short when Y/n went into another coughing fit. She patted Y/n on the back, to help in whatever way she can.
Y/n then ran to the bathroom to throw up. Hermione ran after her to hold her hair back.
"We have to get you to Madam Pomfrey," Hermione said.
"No, I don't want anyone else to know about this," Y/n said, "Especially not Mattheo or Theo."
"Y/n if you don't do something, you're going to die," She said.
Y/n didn't answer her...
-
Over the next few days everyone noticed that she looked a bit sick. Professor McGonagall had sent her to her dorm after she had ran out of the classroom for the third time that lesson.
So, Y/n, just laid there in her bed and stared up at the ceiling. Her room littered with petals.
Theo had tried to come by a few times every day, but she made sure he couldn't come in.
She had Hermione put a charm on her door after Pansy walked in and saw Y/n coughing up petals. Y/n tried to lie her way out of, but Pansy knew immediately what it was. So now, the only people who can enter her dorm, was Pansy and Hermione.
As Y/n laid on her bed, she heard a soft knock on her door. She thought it was Theo, but when the spoke she knew she thought wrong.
Matheo.
"Y/n, I'm just checking in on you. Are you alright?" He was silent for a few moments, "Theo says you won't even let him in."
"Please, I need to know if you're alright," He said, "You're my best friend, I care about you."
The word 'friend' echoed in her mind for the rest of the day. She was only pulled out of her thoughts when she heard Theo yelling at Hermione.
"Why can't I fucking see her?" He yelled.
"Theo, she's not feeling well," Hermione said, "She said she doesn't want to get you sick."
"You and Pansy are in there every day!" He yelled again.
"Hermione," Y/n spoke, her voice raspy. Her throat was raw because of the coughing. She was weak due to the amount of blood she lost and the lack of oxygen.
Hermione's head poked through the door, "Let him in," Y/n said. She knew she didn't have a lot of time left, so she knew she had to tell him.
Hermione nodded, glad that she was finally telling Theo.
Hermione closed the door and lifted her wand. A few moments later, she turned towards Theo and nodded her head towards the door.
Theo didn't hesitate to storm in. He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw how sick his best friend was.
He saw the petals, and immediately knew about what she had and why she had it.
"Holy fuck, love," Theo said as he knelt down next to her.
"Hey Theo," She smiled weakly.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked. Tears were in her eyes; he feared for her life.
"I didn't want to worry you too much," She said.
"You still worried me, love," He said as he took her hand and kissed it.
"I'm sorry," Y/n said, her eyes starting to droop.
"Get some rest, love," Theo said, "I'll be here when you wake up."
Y/n took her hand out of his and placed it on his cheek. A tear fell from his cheek, she wiped it away with her thumb before she closed her eyes.
Theo stayed for a few minutes. He thought, how could someone do this to her.
The anger consumed him. He made sure Y/n was comfortable before he stomped off to find Mattheo.
-
He found Mattheo with that girl. He pulled him up by the collar and pinned him to the wall.
"You motherfucker, you did this to her. She's dying because of you're fucking selfishness," Theo spat in his face.
"What the fuck man?" Mattheo said, "Who's dying?"
Theo said nothing, he dropped Mattheo on the floor before dragging him to Y/n's dorm.
Theo opened up the door and saw Hermione standing over you. She had her wand out, she was examining you.
"Y/n?" Mattheo said. His heart sank. He saw the blood, the petals. He knew.
It was because of him?
"This is all your fault. She's been in love with you for a long time, but you didn't even bother thinking about her. You made it seem like you love her but then you go after other girls," Theo said.
"I've always loved her. I just thought she didn't love me," Mattheo said.
"It's always been you."
They both looked up and saw that Y/n was looking at them. Or, Mattheo.
Mattheo went over to her, and crouched beside her bed.
"I'm so sorry I did this to you," He said, "I love you, I really do love you."
"I love you too, Mattheo," She said, smiling weakly at him. He leaned forward and planted his lips on hers. Neither of them caring about the blood and tears.
They both pulled away when another coughing fit started. Mattheo placed his hand on her back and rubbed circles.
"Why isn't she better?" Theo asked, "Shouldn't she be cured now?"
"I'm afraid, it's too late," Hermione said as tears ran down her cheeks. Pansy stood to the side, trying not to get lost in the tears.
Both the boys' hearts sank. She looked at them both.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner," She said.
"It's alright, love," Theo said as he too crouched down next to her bed, taking her other hand.
"I'll always be with you," She said, "I love you both."
"No, don't say that, you're not dying," Mattheo said, "I finally got to tell you I love you. You're not leaving me now."
She smiled at him, tears running down her cheeks.
She let go of her last breath.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no," Mattheo begged sobbing. He lifted her up and held her to his chest as he rocked back and forth, sobbing into her hair.
Theo sobbed as he held her hands. His best friend since childhood gone.
Hermione held Pansy as they both cried.
"Don't leave me, please, don't leave me," Mattheo's voice cracked as he begged with every sob.
He blamed himself, he was too late.

"Take Care.." (Sick! Alastor x Reader)
A.K.A Alastor trying to fight being ill.
Also inspired by @degenerativeficdisease latest post. Go check out
https://www.tumblr.com/degenerativeficsdisease/782930143572377600/to-break-a-fever
---------------------------------
"Alastor for the love of fuck, go sit down!!" You yelled at him for almost the hundredth time.
"Never!!" He protested, voice ladened with stuffy sinuses and thick static while he attempted to sit upright at his mahogany desk.
Alastor was stubborn, this much you knew. On a daily basis, it was hard to change his mind about little things. Especially if he didn't agree with them for whatever reason, but you didn't know how truly headstrong he could be until today. When he woke up with a fever of 104.3, (and the only reason you knew that is because you damn there shoved the thermometer down his throat..) refusing to rest but instead, trudge through the illness like an idiot. Which is why you were yelling at him as he attempted to get dressed for the day at the pace of a drunken snail.
You've been trying to get him into bed for the past two hours, but every time he refuted you with some bullshit response. "I don't need rest darling, I survived through the Yellow Fever pandemic--!" He coughed violently. You could literally hear the gross phlegm in his lungs as he hacked like an old smoker before sniffling. "..I'll be fine."
Honestly, he didn't even know how much he believed that at the moment. In Hell, everything was worse, including illness and getting sick. He wouldn't dare tell you, but he knew that you knew that he felt like shit. Every movement was agonizing as he put on his typical attire. Muscles aching with every move, his eyes could barely stay open, he felt delirious really and had resorted to breathing through his mouth because his nostrils were clogged with mucus.
"Yes you will be," You sighed, pressing your fingers tips to your temple in frustration. "But not if you keep going at this rate. Seriously, you look terrible."
He's expression was irritated as he looked at you with puffy eyes and an exhausted face. "I haven't the slightest idea what you mean..."
"Don't be difficult Al."
"But it suits me so well!" He tried to sound upbeat and smarmy as usual until a loud microphone feed back made you jump, heavy static spiking in volume in a row of four.
"Fucking hell! What was that?!"
Alastor rolled his eyes. "Have you never heard a man sneeze before?"
"That was a sneeze?" You replied. "It sounded like mating call of something ungodly.."
His loopy eyes squinted at you. "Never say that again.."
"Only if you get into bed and rest. You cannot go around like this. Especially sneezing like that, you might mesh frequencies and blow up a radio or something."
"I'm afraid my powers don't work like that darling."
"Whatever!" You yelled, grabbing him by his arm and dragging him back towards his plush king sized bed. "I don't care if you still want to work, it can wait."
"But--"
You immediately cut him off by firmly pushing him on to the mattress. Later on when he was better, he vowed he'd get revenge on you for having the audacity to touch him, let alone push him, but at the moment he could care less. Sinking into the mattresses plushness, allowing it to cradle his aching bones from this accursed fever.
He let out a groan of pain? Relief? He had no idea as he allowed the mattress to embrace him.
While he sat there melting in the best and worst way possible, you went over to his dresser and pulled out some of his pajamas, throwing them next to him you told his shadows to help him change while you were going to go downstairs and get some essentials.
As soon as you made it to the lobby. You made sure to inform Charlie that Alastor wasn't doing well today and that whatever work he had to do would be late.
Of course she agreed and told you to take as much time as he needed. After that you went into the kitchen and got started on some soup. You know he was a stinker for flavors and food made from scratch, so you did it the long way and managed to make some very tasty venison, rice, and vegetable soup. With just a bit of Southern kick, it would help with his congestion.
A quick look into the pantry and you got some other things too. A pitcher of ice water, some cold meds, a few of his favorite snacks like coffee pecans and minty-lemon candies he'd gotten from one of Rosie's tea parties last week.
Together with the help of his shadows, you brought the things back to his room only to find him sprawled on the bed like a starfish.
He had moved all his blankets to the foot of the bed, despising them because of the chills that wracked his body. The sheets and his pajamas were already a sweaty mess as he breathed heavily with his night shirt unbuttoned. If it wasn't for the fact that he was such a pain, you might have thought of this moment as cute or even hot.
But no, now wasn't the time for that.
Immediately you moved him aside to set up his pillows behind him, propping him up so you could feed him something before the meds. Foggy with fever, you heard him mumble "No maman.." the exhaustion evident in his voice. "Can't stay home..Gotta be at the station before one."
"Oh Alastor.." You hummed. Pressing a hand on his cheek, hoping that he'd snap into reality. It always made you sad to realize that deep down he was just a boy that made mistakes and missed his mother. The only person who could ever get through to him, who he ever truly loved, and would never see again.
Part of you wondered just how long had Alastor been a showman. Not just as a career or even a hobby, but as a way of life. He was a showman to the hotel, to Charlie, to his friends, hell, even to you sometimes. But you couldn't help but think if he was always a performer, even as a child. Did he put on air for his Mother? Was she the only one who ever knew who he really was?
These questions plagued your mind as you placed a cold rag on his head. He moaned at the relief, had you been in a cartoon, you were pretty sure you'd see steam coming off of his person as he drifted in and out of consciousness.
"Alastor? Alastor wake up." you called for him, shaking his shoulder. As much as you hated to wake, he needed to eat. Almost irritatedly, he blinked his eyes open. "..Darling.?"
"Yeah it's just me." You smiled, genuinely. "Come on and sit up, I made some food for you."
Taking a deep breath as if to prepare himself. Alastor used what little strength he had to prop himself up against the pillows more comfortably. Holding the bowl of soup in your hand, you scooped up a bit with the spoon to feed him. But much to your surprise--really, why are you surprised at him by this point-- Alastor instead took the bowl out of your hands and proceeded to drink from it as if it were a cup. He didn't stop to chew the chunks of meat or veggies, he didn't stop to blow it because it was still hot. Nothing. He quite literally just took it and swallowed it all. Leaving nothing behind except for a few grains of rice in the porcelain.
You blinked once. Twice. Then thrice.
"Alastor why did you?-"
He held up his hand somewhat limply, sniffling. "It's bad enough I have this damn fever and unforsaken chills, but I die twice before I allow you to feed me as if I were a helpless child. Besides, I am rather tired."
Something about what he said sent a stab in your heart. While you kinda understand him wanting to go back to sleep, the thought of him still putting a distance between you and his vulnerability still stung.
Instead of making a big deal out of it. You just placed the bowl back onto the serving tray and poured him a glass of cold water and giving him the meds. "Here, drink this and take these. It should help you feel better soon.."
Same as the soup, Alastor seemed to take the water happily, swallowing both it and the meds in one go. Before scooting back down into bed, still panting but not as much as before. Finally closing his eyes to go back to sleep.
"I'll take this stuff downstairs and leave you be for now." You stated, loud enough for him to hear and give you an ear twitch in response.
His expression was soft as he drifted off, seemingly cozy as he possibly could be in this state. With one arm draped over his stomach while the other laid in the open space of the bed.
Wondering if he knew that he had somewhat hurt your feelings, you had only taken about five steps away from him before a group of shadows had taken away the used dishes, while Alastor's doppelganger snatched you up and placed you right beside him on the bed.
You swore you heard a sleepy chuckle when you shrieked from getting plucked off the floor like a chicken feather, but when you were dropped by his side, you were surprised on how naturally he clung to you.
One leg draped over your body, his arms around your waist, while his head rested snugly on your bosom. There was nothing sexual about this, even calling this intimacy was a stretch, but you couldn't help but allow your heart to beat just a little faster. Swelling with love and adoration for him, something you always had that you thought he never noticed.
"Um Al?"
"Mmn..." Is the sound be made as he nuzzled into you more. Completely at home where he laid.
"I have to--"
"Stay." He mumbled. "You stay.."
You huffed. This asshole knew you couldn't say no to him, not while he was like this or even ever. So like a lady with a pet cat, you accepted your fate and stayed where you were. Allowing Alastor to finally fall completely asleep, with you following behind not too long after. Sleeping soundly in his bed, limbs tangled and hair messy, but it was okay.
Because you both felt right at home.

Autistic! MC
Requested By: @g0dwat3r
Summary: The brothers' reaction to finding out MC has autism and certain food aversions. Word Count: 2,655
You used every ounce of your strength to try not to make a noise or facial expression of disgust as you placed the fork in your mouth, immediately regretting your decision to do so.
If you had been by yourself, you would have immediately spit the food out and pushed the plate far out of your sight.
But, unfortunately, you were sitting at the dining table with all seven of the demon brothers, eating a meal that Asmo claimed to have made especially for you since he was on cooking duty.
You didn’t want to offend the fifth-born and there wasn’t really much else to eat in the House of Lamentation thanks to Beel’s ravenous appetite.
So, you forced the food down, pleading with your body not to reject it.
You’d been doing this since your arrival in the Devildom. Whenever there was something you considered particularly unpleasant, you would do your best to force the food down and put on a smile while doing so only to later then have to throw it up.
No matter how hard you tried, the texture and taste ended up bothering you too much.
You had been so careful about not letting the others catch on to what you were doing after dinner those nights, anxious about how they would look at you if they found out the truth.
But, tonight, there was something specific in Asmo’s meal that was driving you crazy.
You tried to ignore the feeling and eat another bite, but the more you tried not to think about it, the more bothered you got.
Eventually, it led to you dismissing yourself from the table prematurely.
The brothers watched with concern as you left the dining room but they continued to eat their meals, albeit in silence.
They were only able to sit there for a few minutes until the absence of your presence became unbearably uncomfortable and one of them decided to go check on you.

Lucifer had been worried about you since the moment you stood up.
He hadn’t ever seen you leave the table so early into dinner or so quickly, So, he figured something must have been wrong.
He knocked on your door, attempting to be respectful. But, when you didn’t respond, he invited himself in.
He didn’t see you anywhere in your room and was about to call out your name when he heard you throwing up in the bathroom.
His eyes widened for a brief moment, not expecting to find you in a sick state.
He wanted to help but he wasn’t sure if you wanted him to enter the bathroom.
He opted to wait until you were done.
As soon as the bathroom door was open, Lucifer approached you and gently led you over to your bed, having you sit down.
His hands moved quickly as he pulled out his D.D.D. He wanted to call Diavolo and have him send over the doctor to check on you.
You stopped him though, placing your hand over his and pushing his D.D.D. down, reassuring him that you were fine.
He didn’t believe you for a second, he heard you throwing up in the bathroom.
If you didn’t want him to call the doctor to give you a diagnosis, then you better tell him why you aren’t feeling well.
You let out a small sigh before explaining the situation to him, admitting to everything.
Lucifer’s pride was a bit hurt by your confession. How had he not picked up on the fact that you were hiding something like this from him?
He doesn’t care what your reasons are. Didn’t you know that he would have done whatever he could to help you?
He’ll have you write a list of all the foods you can’t stand to eat and all the foods you like and he’ll make sure those are all taken into consideration when making your food.
Even if the brothers had to make something extra on the side just for you, he knew none of them would put up a fight.
And if they dared to - he would be more than happy to string them up for it.
“Please be honest with me in the future. I can’t stand to see you in pain over something I can fix.”

Mammon is the opposite of his older brother when it comes to respecting your privacy.
He had a bad habit of barging right into your room without so much as a knock when he wanted to see you.
And nothing was different when he entered your room today.
However, he was not expecting to hear you throwing up in the bathroom.
Mammon froze for a moment as if trying to confirm what he heard.
And when he heard you throw up again, he decided to barge into the bathroom as well.
He panicked slightly when he saw the state you were in and helped you in whatever way he could.
Holding your hair back - check. Rubbing your back - check.
He doesn’t care if you think it’s embarrassing. He isn’t going anywhere.
When you’re done, he’ll make sure you’re nice and cozy in your bed before interrogating you like you just stole his favorite treasure.
You knew that Mammon wouldn’t drop this until you told him why you were throwing up so you decided to give in and tell him what was going on.
At first, Mammon was confused - what was this Autism thing you were telling him about?
But after you explained what it was and how you had been hiding it from him this whole time, he’s pouting.
Didn’t you trust your first man?
You’ll have to reassure him that it wasn’t because you didn’t trust him, you just didn’t want to burden him with it.
Although autism was fairly common in the human world, it wasn’t something that existed in the Devildom because their biology was completely different.
Mammon turns into your bodyguard real quick. He now sees mealtimes as an opportunity to protect you from anything you don’t like.
He doesn’t care if he has to make a scene to get you something you like.
He’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re not hiding things from him again and to make sure you don’t have to force yourself to eat food you don’t like.
“Don’t ya worry, the Great Mammon will make sure you’re taken care of!”

Levi wanted to be dismissed from dinner early as well so he didn’t blame you for doing so.
He fully believed that you just wanted to go and do something more fun and entertaining.
Maybe you had an anime you wanted to watch or a new game you wanted to play!
He had just gotten a new game and that’s why he wanted to leave early, so the idea wasn’t completely far-fetched to him.
But when he entered your room and heard you retching in the bathroom, he went into full-blown panic mode.
What was wrong with you? Were you sick? Did you have one of those normie diseases or infections like the stomach flu??
You exited the bathroom a moment later and you jumped slightly when you saw Levi standing there.
He had been so quiet, you didn’t even hear him come in.
The two of you were caught in a stalemate, neither one of you moving first.
You assumed he had heard you but you weren’t positive and you didn’t want to out yourself if you didn’t have to.
And he was trying to figure out what to say. He was trying to figure out what he could do to help.
When you finally explain the situation to Levi, his immediate reaction is to go the self-deprecating route.
Of course, you’d keep something like this from - who would want to tell their secrets to a yucky otaku?
But he decides to not make this about him and he asks you what he can do to help.
He understands not wanting to have your business out in the open for everyone to see, but he doesn’t want you hiding it anymore.
He has access to tons more food options thanks to his premium Akuzon membership and he’ll get you whatever food you want to eat.
“You’ll never have to eat that stuff again!”

Being the most observant of his brothers, Satan could tell that something was off about you when eating meals.
He assumed that you just needed a bit of an adjustment period to get used to the Devildom food. After all, it was completely different from any human world food.
But Satan was mistaken in the severity of the situation and that realization only dawned on him when he heard you throwing up in the bathroom.
Had it been this bad this whole time?
Satan moved to help you but when he reached the door, you were already opening it.
The two of you locked eyes for a moment before he helped you over to your bed.
He immediately ran a full health check on you.
He’s feeling your forehead for a fever, making sure your eyes aren’t dilated, checking your pulse. He even tried to look in your throat when you stopped him, assuring him that you weren’t sick.
Satan was beyond confused when you told him that. He knew that vomiting was a symptom of being sick so why were you telling him you weren’t?
You took a moment to find the right wording and then explained your autism to Satan and how certain foods just bother you.
Satan was surprised when you told him. With all of the reading he did, how had he not heard about this before?
Would you tell him more about it?
Satan will do tons of research on autism and make sure he’s an expert in the subject so that if something like this ever comes up again, he knows you to assist you.
He’ll go through the checklist in the information book he found and ask you which of the things on the list you’re sensitive to so that he can be on the lookout for them.
“You know you can always come to me for help, Y/N.”

Asmo was freaking out when you left dinner early.
Since he was the one who cooked dinner, he immediately started going through all of the steps in his mind, making sure he didn’t add in any ingredients that could be dangerous to a human.
It was a new meal that you hadn’t tried, so maybe you were just so blown away by Asmo’s cooking abilities!
He wanted to believe that - but when he reached your room and heard you throwing up in the bathroom, he knew that it wasn’t true.
Asmo felt really guilty. He tried so hard to make you something that you liked. He didn’t mean to make you sick!
When you opened the door to the bathroom, you saw Amso standing there with tears and worry in his eyes.
He started apologizing profusely, afraid you wouldn’t forgive him for cooking you something you didn’t like.
You immediately moved over to comfort him and assure him that he didn’t do anything wrong.
He asked you what exactly about the meal you didn’t like so that he could avoid making the same mistake in the future.
And that forces your hand to explain your autism to him.
Asmo is surprised to hear the truth but so supportive of what you're sensitive to.
He’ll make an extra effort to make sure you’re comfortable in whatever situation you’re in.
Please don’t force yourself to eat things that bother you anymore.
Throwing up that often is terrible for your body!
“I’m here for you, hun.”

Beel didn’t think twice about you leaving the dinner table early at first. He was too distracted enjoying everything that Asmo made to eat.
But he felt the uncomfortable tension that fell over the table and then he began to think more about the situation.
Why would you leave dinner early? Were you not hungry?
But, he hadn’t seen you eat anything earlier so that couldn’t have been it.
Beel practically inhaled the food on his plate before getting up to go check on you.
Like Mammon, when he heard you throwing up, he immediately rushed into the bathroom to help you.
His eyes were filled with concern as you threw up. Was it something serious?
He moved you to your bed when you were done and he immediately started asking you what humans needed to feel better.
Was it soup? A warm blanket? He could get Satan to track down some medicine!
You stopped Beel from panicking when you placed your hand on his arm to bring him back to reality.
You told him that you didn’t need medicine and that you only threw up because the food was bothering you.
Beel was confused by your statement. What do you mean it was bothering you?
You explained everything to Beel, including how after some meals you can’t help but throw up because of the taste and texture.
Beel is devastated at the news. Everyone should enjoy their meals!
If you didn’t like the food, you should have told him! He would have done whatever was necessary to make sure you had food that you could not only eat but enjoy.
Beel will make sure you always have food that you like at meal times and if there’s anything else that bothers you, he’ll find a way to help you with that too.
“Whatever you need - I’ll make sure you have it.”

Belphie had fallen asleep at the dining room table. So, he didn’t realize when you stood up from your seat and left.
It was the sound of Beel setting his plate down a little too eagerly that jolted Belphie awake.
And when he did wake up, his eyes immediately searched for you.
Where did you go?
Belphie asked his brothers what happened and when they told him you just up and left, he decided to investigate.
He entered your room with the full intention of taking a nap with you, but he didn’t see you in your room.
He decided to slip under the covers anyway and wait for you.
He had nearly fallen back asleep when he heard you throw up.
His eyes snapped open as he quickly sat up in your bed, staring at the bathroom door.
You exited a few moments later and stopped in your tracks when you saw Belphie sitting in your bed under your covers.
You let out a small sigh before simply getting in the bed next to him. You weren’t in the mood to kick him out.
“What’s wrong with you?” he asked simply.
Part of you wanted to scoff at how straightforward he was and part of you wanted to ignore his question entirely.
But he knew how to push your buttons in all of the right ways and he will keep pestering you until you tell him what's going on.
Don’t believe him? Please try him.
With a groan of frustration, you explained everything to Belphie who was once again looking shocked - this time at your words.
You didn’t know how to react when, at the end of your explanation, he laid down on top of you and merely stated, “Okay.”
Did you expect him to react differently? To see you in a different light? Because he didn’t.
You were still the same Y/N he loved.
He wouldn’t tell you this, but he started paying more attention to things that made you uncomfortable and if he notices it, he’ll immediately take care of the problem.
And if he finds out that you’re forcing yourself to eat food you don’t like for the sake of others again, he’ll throw, he’ll make a huge deal out of it.
“I’ll take care of you.”

Low Temperatures [Sylus]

Content: Fluff, Established Relationship, Sick Character, POV Second Person, Reader-Insert
Pronouns: None
Reblogs: Let me know that you enjoy my work and want to see more, so don’t forget to like and reblog (and comment in the tags. I love seeing people’s rambles in the tags)!
This work’s concepts, plot and original characters are my own which means I do not allow any sort of creative theft nor do I allow my work to be entered into any sort of A.I. bots. Thank you for respecting my space and boundaries.

“Why is it so cold in here?” The moment your bare feet grazed the marble floor of Sylus’ room, a sharp chill ran up and down your body.
“Did you know that you should sleep with the room temperature at between sixty and seventy-two degrees?”
“So fucking freezing and freezing?” You padded your way over to the thermostat, turning it up to 75. “Don’t touch it.”
“It’s my thermostat.” You rolled your eyes at Sylus’ pout, heading over to the bed.
“Well now it’s our thermostat since I’m sleeping in here tonight.” Throwing the covers back, you flopped down.

You should have known simple words wouldn’t have stopped Sylus. You should have walked out the moment he brought up that cold ass “correct” temperature bullshit. All you wanted was sleep, a quick rest, a simple rest of the eyes. But now here you were, cold, cranky, and cuddled up against the culprit.
“Why is it so fucking cold?” Your voice was rough, you sure were sick.
“It feels quite comfortable to me.” Despite being burrowed deep in the covers, you could hear the smug smile. “You were holding onto me so tightly…am I to assume it was because you were cold and nothing else?”
“Shut up—” Your words became a wet, garbbed mess of coughs.
You felt Sylus shift closer. “Are you seriously sick?”
“Did you seriously touch my shit when I told you not to?” Another string of harsh coughs.
Silence blanketed the room, for once he had nothing to say. You untangled yourself from the blankets, making your way to the thermostat. You could feel Sylus’ gaze on your back, but you ignored it.
It was at 62 degrees.
You headed for the door.
He didn’t try to stop you.

You hated being sick. You hated being away from home, and sick. You especially hated being away from home, sick and living under the same roof as the person who made you sick as a fucking gotcha (or whatever).
“Man, you’re weak.”
“Yeah, sixty-two degrees isn’t even all that cold.”
“Get out.”
You were not in the mood for Luke and Kieran shenanigans because if they were gonna shenan once, they would shenan again.
“No can do.”
“The boss gave us explicit orders to watch over you.”
You groaned (mistake, turned in another bad cough), and rolled your eyes. “Then watch me quietly. I want to sleep.”
“But you’ve been doing nothing but sleeping this entire time.” Kieran pointed.
“And that’s boring.” Luke agreed with a nod.
“Yeah, we should—”
A ping cleared the air, cutting Kieran off. Luke slipped his phone from his pocket, glancing at the message.
“It’s boss. He wants to see us.”
“Really? I thought we had the day off.”
“Good, hurry up and don’t come back.” You would have physically pushed them out, but your body was aching, so you hoped a fierce glare was enough to get them moving.
It wasn’t. They took their sweet ass time leaving your room, but at least they were nice (see: being a nuisance) enough to turn the lights off as they left.
Finally, peace and quiet. Well, peace, quiet and pain. But with a commentary video on in the background, you were able to lull yourself to sleep.

The next few days went by slowly, and uneventful. The twins never came back after Sylus had called for them. You were both grateful and a bit annoyed (you would have liked to have a bit of entertainment as you were getting better). Then you were fully recovered, and the twins still hadn’t reared their masked heads. You rolled your eyes, turning on your heel and headed for the reason why.
Entering the room, you immediately beelined it for the thermostat.
It was set to 75 degrees.
You headed for the bed.
He didn’t try to stop you nor move from his spot.
You snuggle into the bed, happy with the comfort that surrounded you. You were content with the silence, not really expecting him to speak to you, and you weren’t willing to extend the olive branch. But then he spoke,
“I’m sorry.” He sighed, as his book clapped shut. “For disregarding your words, and getting you sick.”
You let the apology settle in the air for a moment before responding. “I don’t like that you did that—I’ve got a weak constitution.” You paused, toying with your bottom lip. “...but I should have told you that before just changing something and expecting you not to change it back. So I’m sorry too.”
“Now that we’ve both gotten the apologies out of the way,” You felt him lean over you, “Will you return to the bedroom?”
“Oh? Was someone lonely without me?”
His lips grazed your ear. “Of course I was.”
“Oh.” You shuddered. “What should we do about our loneliness then?”
“I can think of a few things.”

For the first time ever
NSFW Continuation
Everyone thank my friend and Sylus for this.

I've kinda been quiet about this because I always followed the "don't feed the trolls" kinda thing since I was 12 years old, but this is moreso just blatant harassment and has negatively affected me and everyone else at this point and I'm putting my foot down.
So for the last few weeks to a month, I've been being harassed by Wonkytoons and her spam/alt/fans (still up in the air idk idc) to the point I kinda want to talk about it.
Long story short, I did try to talk to Wonky about this situation and grab proof from her stating her innocence because she claimed she had proof and I wanted to see it. I ended up having a days long DM conversation with her, where she threw multiple ableist and transphobic remarks at me (despite me trying to be kind, albeit strict in convo) and skirted around the topic until I was firmly putting my foot down and ignoring every other topic and pity party statement she attempted to throw at me. The proof I saw was...Inconclusive. Especially in relation to the evidence I saw against her. I simply sent it to others, archived our conversation, and went on my way. Because I didn't make a public post "defending her" at the time, she continued to message me, demanding a group chat, a discord, whatever, and at some point I did end up just trying to communicate with her further on discord to maybe convince her to tell Chaos (the person making 70+ alt accounts) to stop the harassment so hopefully she can go to her own peaceful corner of the fandom and we can all go on our merry way.
Any other conversation with her, begging the alts (whom she claims is her friend) to stop, have been a huge trainwreck. Every plea was only met with more and more and more demands, most of which I was not willing to negotiate on. She continued to throw ableist comments (claiming I have Stockholm Syndrome, claiming I feel no empathy because I'm autistic, etc) at me, and I figured the conversation was done from there.
Since then, I've been being harassed and told to kill myself whenever an alt account gets a chance and pops up.
At some point I ended up having such a bad trauma response from everything going on to the point her just existing in the fandom made me uncomfortable, and I had to step away from anything Layton related for a while. And I was MISERABLE. I came to this fandom to cope with my grief over incidents that occurred last winter/fall and having that ripped from me was a huge downer in my life.
Even THEN after leaving the Layton fandom, I was STILL being sent suicide threats and various insults from alt accounts, had my name put in "callout" posts, and way more in the lane of "trying to ruin my reputation" (this is Tumblr...So we really don't have any reputation.)
I've come back to the fandom as it's died down, I'm doing a lot better and am happily enjoying the series once again without feeling sick because of Wonkytoons's constant harassment within the community. However I am in fact still being harassed and added to various callouts and messages. It's more annoying and pitiful than anything, and since it seems her account will not be coming back, I don't feel the need to deny myself the simple pleasure of enjoying the funny British man game. I deal with the alt accounts by making shitposts on my spam account and reporting, doesn't mean I like seeing them ESPECIALLY when they've been harassing others as well.
I guess I'm writing this just to get my own voice out there. I'm here for anyone if they need some sort of support from any of the harassment from the alt accounts. I don't want to be quiet in times like this when I've just been really dealing with the situation in private more than anything.
Maybe I'm rambling too much, but thank you for your time.
#wonkytoons drama#my text#just putting my foot down here because im kinda tired just hoping closing my eyes will make the situation go away#anyways if anyone needs any support im here and free to DM#anyways i think this will be the only “big announcement” post i make about this#i just want this shit to end man OTL

hiii !! if it's not too much to ask could we get a peeta x reader (m or gn) and reader gets sick so peeta takes it upon himself to take care of them?? really fluffy with reassurance that reader's not a bother, cooking, baking bread, bathing reader etc. I LUVV UR WORK !
the doctor is in
pairing: peeta mellark x gn!reader
summary: after you get sick, peeta takes it upon himself to be the person taking care of you. this can technically take place after mockingjay, but there’s no real mention of any of that so…read it however you would like
warnings: mentions of throwing up, slight bit of angst because reader feels a bit emotional
word count: 953
author’s note: neww format!! and thank you!! there is NOT enough peeta content in this world. also, it’s never too much to ask! hope you like this, i made it with lots of love ☆

waking up should be nice. comforting. especially in peeta’s arms. but that was not the case for today. why? because you woke up with a searing headache, a sore throat, and an awfully runny nose. the morning sun, which you would usually love, was doing the absolute worst for your condition.
and as much as you loved the boy with his arm around your waist, you knew you wouldn’t last much longer in this position, so you proceeded to remove his arm from your waist, and sit up.
big mistake.
because unbeknownst to you until now, this mystery illness had another symptom, which you just found out was nausea. yayyy.
you used whatever remaining strength you had left to make it to the bathroom to throw up. if the world wanted a way to make you feel worse than you already did, this was the way.
you had been doing that for what felt like hours, and then you felt your hair being pulled from your face, and an arm rubbing your back softly.
your body finally decided to give you a break from the torment, and you looked up to find none other than your beautiful, tired boyfriend; peeta.
“well, you’re up early.” he says.
you turn around to face him and give him a small, exhausted smile in response. but that was all he needed.
“you feeling okay?”
you shake your head.
“well, let’s get you cleaned up, then you can head back to the bed, alright?” he says, rubbing your arms up and down.
nodding in response, he helps you stand up and gets your toothbrush for you.
you brush your teeth as he exits the room to get something. who cares if brushing your teeth immediately after vomiting is bad for your teeth? it’s not like you were gonna stand around with the taste of your own vomit in your mouth.
you finish brushing and feel some sense of normalcy return to the morning. as you put away your toothbrush and toothpaste, peeta enters the room and ushers you to the bed. there’s an array of items on it: blankets, medicine, extra pillows, and much more.
as he gently sits you down and the bed, you try to protest and say that you can’t be sick today, that you have things to do. but before you can he cuts you off.
“shh, let me take care of you, for once. please?”
he puts a hand on your cheek, and you just can’t resist his request when you look into those precious, soft eyes of his.
“okay.” you say in a very hoarse voice. that word will probably the first and last word uttered today, since even saying it sent intense pain throughout your throat.
“oh look, they speak.” he jokingly says.
you roll your eyes before he gives you a kiss on the forehead before tucking you into the bed, and asking you how many blankets you would like and if you wanted the windows open.
the whole day was filled with forehead kisses, sweet nothings, and a lot of tissues.
and you weren’t gonna lie, the multiplied affection peeta gave you continuously throughout the day made you feel a lot better. but it also made you worried. were you burdening peeta with all your wants and needs? the idea made you feel a little more nauseous than you already were, so you decided to toss it to the side.
you thought the affection would at least dwindle down as it was nearing evening, but you were quickly corrected as you smelt the mouth-watering aroma of fresh bread waft throughout the house.
as the day went on, your voice became easier to use, so when peeta walked through the door with a delicious looking meal and a slice of fresh bread, you could finally ask him something you’d been wondering the whole day.
“are you sure i’m not a burden to you?”
he looks a bit taken aback, like the idea that you just told him was something he had never heard or thought of in his life.
he puts the tray of food down before he goes to sit on the side of the bed. he puts a hand on your cheek for the fiftieth time before speaking.
“now i know you’re really sick.”
you laugh, confusedly.
“what’s that supposed to mean?” you ask, leaning into his hand.
“it means that you’re not thinking right, because what you’re thinking is quite the opposite.” he says, with a small smile.
“are you sure? i mean, because i—“
but he puts two fingers to your mouth.
“will you let me speak?” he asks with a sweet tone that makes you melt.
“you’re important to me, and you’re obviously not feeling well. i just want to make you feel good, because that’s what you deserve. you’re always talking care of me, but sometimes i just wanna take care of you. because i love you.”
this wasn’t the first time you heard him say i love you, but all the feelings you felt when he first said it are certainly there.
he removes his fingers from your lips, and you give him a smirk that gradually turns into a big, toothy grin.
“i love you too.” you say.
he smiles before giving you an actual kiss, on the lips.
when he pulls back, you give him a soft hit on the shoulder.
“peeta! you’re gonna get sick, too!”
“then i can lay with you all day.” he says, while getting in bed and wrapping an arm around you.
“oh yeah? then who’s gonna take care of us?” you ask.
“both of us.” he replies.
“i don’t think that’s how it works, honey.”

please give feedback! it’s very appreciated ☆
