i love writing tragic women.
#idk…. most of my ocs are tragic women; women with bad traits;#women who are not soft and sweet and kind all the time#nancy was the first tragic woman i wrote omfg..#but idk i think tragic characters are so important to write; i think there needs to be room for tragic characters esp women#esp women of color….#idk i love writing….. what i think are complex women; i like when characters dont always have happy endings.#or they have happy moments…. but theres the day after that moment#reading hamnet kinda changed me idk…

hm I fear sometimes the beatles fandom overcorrects for the racist/misogynistic yoko hate by pretending she is a perfect girlboss who's never done a thing wrong in her life when in reality that itself is just another form of sexism/racism. like one of these days we will have to reckon w the fact that she is a Real Complex Human Being with a complex life who has just as many flaws and virtues as any man...... but that would require viewing women of color as People and that is beyond fandom like 90% of the time
#I mean this doesn't even apply to just her it applies to really....#any single woman or female character in any fandom lmao#esp women/characters of color...... it's such a problem honestly

i am so happy for the increase of people like Clarisse La Rue in the new show (and im ignoring the people who don't like her) (also, i have not watched the show yet, in support of Palestine's boycott against Disney+ and am currently too sick to figure out the safest way to 🏴☠️) because she is such a good character and i would cry for a well-written book/fanfic series from her pov
like. she truly is the epitome of "my dad is the worst man alive and i am his favorite daughter" and i super respect the decision that this adaptation has towards going towards the whole "in my version, Clarisse will never win her father's approval because she isn't his son" sentiment. not to mention, the decision to couple that by having her be cast as a person of color in addition to her pre-existing character having been someone who has been frantically trying find the opportunity to prove herself, being indirectly one-upped by white boy Percy coming into camp day 1 having fought a minotaur. the intersectionality of her misdirected fury is impeccable. fantastic, no notes
but im also just psyched for her and Chris Rodriguez and i really wish they had more focus in the books. because they are as fantastically amazing as all the other S-tier ships in the series. i think they could even rival Percabeth (notice: i didn't say "could beat", i said "could RIVAL", no Percabeth fans send me hate), honestly, if Clarisse/Chris had been given a chance to somehow be of focus. because you're telling me angry, overlooked Daddy Issues(TM) Clarisse gets to find love with Chris "calm and patient while caring greatly for Clarisse" Rodriguez? the son of Hermes who said "fuck Camp Halfblood, fuck these gods" and went to Kronos and Luke's side? who went into the labryrinth and was driven to insanity? by King Minos himself? who Clarisse was so gentle and sympathetic for, even when others thought he might be a lost cause? even when others debated even helping him because he was "the enemy"? who, after Dionysus (and lets be honest, also Clarisse, because she was his caretaker until he could be brought to Dionysus) cured Chris of his insanity, this guy saw what a catch Clarisse was to have in your life, seeing her as someone sweet and loving (because she can be! she is!!), that who she is as a person single-handedly conVINCED HIM TO LEAVE KRONOS' SIDE AND COME BACK TO CAMP??? SO HE COULD BE HAVE A CHANCE TO BE WITH HER??
their love is so iconic. and that's just the one big moment we get from their story; im so sure there is more that we dont get to see all due to them not being focused on in the story. im so glad theyre still together and so in love. its what Clarisse deserves. i hope the show shines a light on how powerful their love is too. Chris fixes none of Clarisse's tragic father-induced issues, but it helps to remember that at least she has Chris, and im so glad she does. Clarisse is a warrior that deserved a great love-story
#clarisse la rue#chris rodriguez#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo#percy jackson show#im ngl i dont trust riordan to write their story well but id be so down for a riordan presents book focused on them#riordan has had some Writing Women As Characters issues (esp women of color) and has also had some bad takes in politics like with Palestin#but also someone doing a ''hunger games from peeta's pov'' level fanfic all about clarisse instead would be amazing#anyway. dont mind me im just gonna go cry about clarisse/chris some more amidst my time of frail health 🥺😔🥺😔

i wonder if white people specifically white progressives realise that black people are only ever seen as their skin color first and foremost
#this goes for all poc but im talking about black people here#black people are constantly connected to their skin color and tone in good ways and in not good ways#people will always see you as your race first because white is considered the default#like if someone wanted to insult me the first thing they would go for is my race or gender presentation#whenever an actor is cast for a role people see the fact that they are black before anything else - talent. style. etc is ignored#black people are othered in society to put it bluntly . that is why white people get so upset when black people are cast as any role#or when they uuuuuh you know exist#and if the other becomes the majority - say a movie with mostly black people or a black-exclusive setting#then white people will get uncomfortable and complain#maybe the way i explained it is weird idk im not good at explaining#what im trying to say is that blackness is not something you can hide unless you are able to pass as white/are biracial etc.#and so the many stereotypes about black people are what people see first#what i'm trying to get at is that the way people percive black people completely changes our experiences esp if we're queer or women#a white and visibly queer person will have a different experience than a black and visibly queer person#and white progressives often forget that#sorry if this was explained weird im not a good explainer and also some bad shit happened today so my head is not really in the game#do people even say that god#whatever man

least favorite phenomenon in the world is when a fictional woman doesnt have the most perfect writing in the world and people's response is to completely trash the woman or pretend they dont exist or straight up hand over all the cool bits of their narrative to a male character.......... like erm i love women can we make her cooler or work on fixing her narrative or whatever instead of deleting her suspiciously fast. please.
#this also applies to other minorities esp trans women and women of color but like god damn i just see this happen a lot and its crazyyyy#wheres that meme thats like 'for 1 dollar name a woman' thats how i feel SO OFTEN..... anyway shoutout to women thats my point here i guess#just realized i made this hypothetical woman use she/they pronouns in my post LOL good for them#anis gaymer moments

Sorry. Saw a gay trans man accuse a lesbian of being transphobic one too many times because they said they "hate men." Grow up. Grow the fuck up. I'm so tired
#like if you can acknowledge that people of color complaining about white people#or gay people about straight people#or trans people about cis people#has nothing to do with the actual group but is simply voicing frustration#an oppressed group voicing frustration and anger with the oppressor#but you can't acknowledge that when a woman says that about men? ESPECIALLY queer women?#you are at best fucking stupid#most likely just very misogynistic (internalized or not) el oh el#and i'm tired of it getting swept under the rug because no one actually takes misogyny seriously#esp when it's coming from any group OTHER than cishet men#it's almost like you believe women don't actually face systematic oppression#OR they need to be silent and demure about it and never voice frustration or be angry because WOMEN shouldn't act like that#which in of itself is misogyny#idk. like i said. i am just very fucking tired#and this is something i have experienced and seen so fucking often#and no one ever fucking talks about it because they're favorite thing to do is just scream 'YOU'RE TRANSPHOBIC' if you criticize them in an#fucking capacity#anyways. i'm done now.#goodbye#kaz rambles

Vesper would look absolutely stunning in a kimono as well <3
#If ur wondering why I'm putting her in both Kimonos and Hanfus (kimono and hanfu?) pls see the tags on the hanfu post!#This one was easier to find Kimono in Vesper colors (black and purple)! The Hanfu post I gave up on colors and just wanted to post so ppl-#-Could see the style#I chose mostly furisode kimonos (1st four with the very first image also featuring a hakama)#It seemed the most appropriate since Vesper is young and unmarried#But! I've also included a picture of some junihitoe as well since she is a noble/court woman!! Those ones are a more historical pick but#I wanted to include them. Esp since I included some historical hanfu#(Note: Given Vesper's gender fluidity I debated whether I should be including the men's outfits too-#-But tbh when I dress her up I just prefer imagining her in traditionally women's clothing.)#vesper tag

so many people in the hotd/asoiaf fandom use the term 'girlboss' without a hint of irony because they can't see past their western, white views of women's rights and the status of a women in society. especially historical women - they can't see past the subjugated women archetype, passive and submissive, and to the core feminine. any woman that dare stick up for herself and her rights is immediately a girlboss because she supposedly does not follow the proper rules of society, she's not 'realistic' according to them. like i can't take the term seriously now because the white, western half of the fandom has such a rigid idea of historical women's rights and how women should react to their situations and completely ignorant of how black and women of color would and would react.
#hotd#asoiaf#house of the dragon#a song of ice and fire#anti hotd fandom#anti asoiaf fandom#historical women are supposed to be passive agents !!#x is a girlboss because she defied a man and stood up for herself#shut up !!! historical women esp women of color have been long known to be defiant and defy the roles given to them#like rhaenyra fighting for her rights is viewed negatively and a girlboss#but alicent accepting her fate and her duty while resentful is praised#both of them can be historically realistic btw and certainly not 'girlboss'#alicent hightower#rhaenyra targaryen

Being sooo brave rn (<- saw someone being wrong on the internet and did not engage with them)
#''people don't judge transmascs for wanting body hair literally everyone encourages it'' what PLANET. DO YOU LIVE ON#setting aside that it shouldn't be seen as inherently masculine considering everyone has it#trans dudes are often perceived as ''grosser'' the more masculine they are and the more masculine features they want#and that 100% happens with body hair. if you express wanting body hair as a trans guy plenty of people will be uncomfortable#mainly because of the narrative of ''poor little misled teen girls'' and the radfem idea of women and femininity being inherently good#while men and masculinity are deemed inherently evil#to bigots a trans guy is just a failed unattractive woman and people's true colors can show with that.#the post i saw was for transfems about their own experience with being judged whether they do or don't shave it#which is great and fine. but hey. why do you have to randomly throw transmascs under the bus at the end. that was completely unnecessary.#the amount of casual transandrophobia i see esp in my own community is just fucking depressing#sorry i'm done ranting now#hartlow speaks#vent

I was telling my therapist today about how my father doesn't like women in sports and how sexist he's been lately, and she literally started referencing the man by taylor swift. i just sat there, jaw dropped feeling my bones tingle because i literally listened to that THE NIGHT BEFORE to channel my female rage, and then i started full on stream-rolling and getting all the angry frustrated feelings of being an asian girl in a sexist household off my chest
man i love my therapist
#the man#taylor swift#therapy#girls out there who are mistreated and relate to the man deep in their bones#i see you#stay strong queens 👑#i love women#and im proud to be one#esp a women of color
